The room was very nice and updated It was decorated with very nice decor The front desk staff was very nice, professional and helpful

We wanted to eat breakfast at the restaurant, but we waited 15 mins just to be seated, then once seated, we sat with no service for 20 minutes before leaving and going into town to eat The beds were hard as a rock and caused me a great deal of discomfort the next day The indoor water park was nice, but the water was very cold It’s a beautiful park, and the Olympic sized pool outside of the lodge and within the park was amazing!

Timothy Miller

Managed to reserve a room five hours out while on the road for a family of three for one night Lady said the room was renovated and cost $223 Room was ready with the exception of the floor being dirty with food crumbs and the bathroom light detached from the ceiling

There’s a fridge and Kueric K-cup machine in the room Everything else was great from the staff to the mini water park The water was clean, they had plenty of towels on hand, and the lifeguards were attentive Dinner was so-so, service was better Live music during dinner by Dave Miller was really good He sang from Neil Young to Elton John We would go back again and stay longer for the outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and horse back riding And we would definitely get back in the car and go eat dinner in Nashville See photos for details

Fred Bishop

We had a very nice room meeting area with the group we were with We enjoyed the hot tub very much but REALLY surprised that the aquatic area didn’t open until 10 am!! If I had children with me and we had to wait until 10 am before they could enjoy it, they would be climbing the walls, and I would be upset paying that much for a room and being that limited using the aquatic center

Overall it was a great stay Family and I were passing through to another state and stopped here for the kids themed pool Pool and hot tub was awesome, free breakfast is a perk as well

The location is great for dinner options too both sit down and takeout nearby Losing one star due to the overall state of the king suite on the second floor The carpet needs steam cleaned and there are random drill holes by the pictures Some cosmetic damage to the doors and random carpet stains That aside, we had a great one night here Customer service was top notch, hotel was quiet at night and I would recommend staying here to anyone passing thru traveling with kids

Holli Frazell

The hotel itself was nice I was disappointed with the service, noise level and room Especially considering I picked this hotel because it appeared family-friendly and I was traveling with two toddlers

I asked for a pack and play upon check-in and was told one would be brought to our room Several hours later I called to inquire, again, about it and was told that they’d have to see if one was available… I never received a call back or notice that one wasn’t availableOur room was located on the second floor and the bedroom was extremely bright, even with the shades drawn I opened the window to check and found a large spotlight directly outside the window It felt like we were sleeping in daylightWe attempted to move to the pull out bed due to the light, but the sound was unreasonable with kids running, slamming doors and shouting constantly This was with a loud sound machine onWe enjoyed the pool, but the temperature was very chilly and my son was shaking after 20 minutes in itBreakfast was a highlight; nice selection and the service was great

Amy Morris

We love this location It is fairly clean and well maintained Breakfast is good

Coffee decent The pool is the reason we go but we are at the point of finding another location to enjoy winter pool time The pools are WAY too cold I mean, you’re indoors and shivering because it’s nearly unbearable Time to up the pool temp! I’ve heard many people complain

New Harmony is beautiful, and the Inn is well-located for walking to everything one may wish to see and do while there The grounds are gorgeous We reserved 3 nights

This was a special occasion, so we contacted ahead of our visit and requested a quiet room away from disturbances We arrived late, an hour before registration closed, so weren’t acquainted with the layout until the next day We were located right above and next to the Inn’s restaurant, which is a busy area The room was very nice, though it did not have a microwave as advertised The cleaning lady opened our door the first morning at 10 am and my husband had to tell her in his underwear that we didn’t require service The following 2 mornings, a grounds keeper was right outside our window by 9 am with a gas powered leaf blower, and the noise continued for quite a while On our last night, my husband went to the restaurant to ask for a menu about 30 minutes before they were supposed to close When he returned to place our order, they told him they were closing early because it was raining This was approximately 7 minutes after he was given a menu We would strongly recommend being crystal clear about your sleeping habits, and not relying on the restaurant to keep its advertised hours Otherwise it’s very nice

Kate Mikkelsen

Absolutely charming Clean comfortable room with shaker style furniture and firm beds Shower was low entry type with safety bars and non skid floor

Walking from parking to first floor room had no steps or hazards, interior lighting was bright Indoor pool is located outside the main hotel building but in decent weather the short walk was fine, lovely to have the chance to swim The Red Geranium restaurant was cozy and affordable with reliable classics Restaurant and hotel both very family friendly and yet serene Excellent multigenerational family choice

Jonathan Jonas

Located in a unique and beautiful town, called New Harmony; this inn is so much more than just a place to recover from stresses of the day There are complimentary bicycles and rental golf carts which are ideal for exploring many points of interest located throughout the area For anyone looking to have a memorable excursion, or even book their convention center for business or family events, this destination should be added to your list for consideration

Decided to leave for Chicago a day earlier then we planned We came across this place and decided to book it The room was amazing

Lots of space and just had a homey feeling to it Breakfast was simple but the dinning area was cute Would of loved to stay longer to do some more exploring but we will do that another time We will definitely be back

Carmen’s Critiques

Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the location of this lodge It is very romantic dark lighting in the lounge and the cavatappi pasta sauce was literally the best sauce I have ever had We came on a Monday night and reservations were not needed, but we did hear that the lodge was fully booked

It is a beautiful property with loads of amenities and the lodge itself is chic rustic!

alexis harris

The room was spacious and the bed was amazing! There was a little game nook on our floor It was a very cozy place There was a ceiling leak in the hall with a bucket beneath it

that wasn’t awesome The drive up the the lodge was over the river and through the woods The ponds/lake in the woods around the lodge looked murky, but we did also visit in an April that was still basically winter All in all, a nice stay

We wanted to simplify and personalize our travels and come to find out in the 50s so did they Last night a storm came through and the power went out so the owner had my number and texted me that they called the power company and approx the time the power was to come on Sure enough it did

She also put some ice in the room and turned the ac on so it was cool when we got there That’s what happens when it’s family owned and reputation matters

Amber Casali

My husband, our old dog, and I are traveling across the country, moving from AZ to MA Came across The Golden Inn and it was perfect for us Great grassey area in front on the building which was perfect for our little old dog

Tons of cable channels and Ruko TV Small fridge and microwave in room is a plus The bed could be a hair more comfortable and could use a couple more power outlets

First class all the way We did a play and stay package along with Pro lessons Every part of the stay was great

The hotel , the Chophouse had excellent food, the pro shop was helpful and pleasant, the golf course is spectacular The staff was very attentive and had our cart ready every morning All in all I can’t enoughJohn Erickson was an excellent coach Have us many great points to improve our game

luke hoffman

Course was in pretty good shape Stay and play option is great for big groups (16 in our party) Fairway house is a little in need of updating and we wish they had full cart paths

We had heavy rain the night before our last day and the course closed for the morning, then only allowed walking in the afternoon (no full cart paths to allow path only) Would like to see some more attention to the tee boxes (several unlevel / rough spots) Other than the weather the trip was awesome, bar staff was phenomenal! Food at the chop house was great!

Called last minute due to a break down while traveling Got a room same day around 5pm on a Friday night Front desk lady was super nice and friendly

They accept pets as well which was the reason for choosing this hotel Dog loved the room as much as we did I requested a room close to an exit door to make it easier to take him out and was accommodated accordinglyRoom was clean, linens were fresh, kitchenette was fully stocked and clean The fridge/freezer was huge, the microwave/oven was clean and the bathroom was fully stocked with suppliesWe were on the ground level and the noise from the room above was minimal The fresh coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the lobby was an added bonusThey offered a full hot breakfast in the morning which was fully stocked throughout the eating hours Food was delicious and very enjoyableOver all we very much enjoyed our stay and our interactions with the staff was very pleasant I would certainly stay here again!!!

Lisa Wohlers

This was definitely a great choice when deciding where to spend a night to break up a long drive Our suite was expansive with a separate bedroom for privacy and a roomy Jack and Jill bathroom Kitchen area had everything we needed to heat and serve the food we had with us

Breakfast was about what you would expect from this chain The coffee was good The temperature controls in the bedroom (at least in our suite) were less than cooperative, but ultimately we had a comfortable night’s rest Friendly and helpful staff Will stay again

Steve Van Dyke

My family enjoyed our stay here Staff was friendly and attentive We had to ask for pool towels and bedding for the pull out couch and they were very prompt with fulfilling those requests

Our room was clean and functional for my family and had the typical Home2 look and feel Even with the proximity to the highway, the hotel was quiet at nightI wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this location to anyone

We stayed overnight and thought the hotel was really cute The outside looked pretty dated, but inside it was clean, comfortable, and up to date (I saw several reviews saying the rooms were dated, but as someone who stays in hotels pretty regularly, I’ve seen MUCH worse) Everyone was super nice throughout our stay

We ate at the restaurant, and the food was delicious Our bartender, Jacob, was great- friendly, appropriately attentive, and knowledgable about the menu and drink options There wasn’t much to do in the hotel itself, which wasn’t an issue for us in a one night stay, but if you’re looking for on-site gym or other amenities of that sort, this might not be the place for you

James Mill

A hidden gem So close to the park and a great restaurant on premises I came through for a night on my way across the country

I checked in, jumped into the park for a quick mountain bike ride (which was awesome!), And then came back for dinner The fried chicken was great, and the bar/restaurant was clean welcoming, and staffed with fun, friendly individuals

Stephanie Addington (Steph)

We were there for an event They were over an hour getting food out

it was a buffet They didn’t even bring out water until closer to the time to set out the food I think the beef was supposed to be prime rib and it was barely warm and lots of gristle They also served baked chicken which was cold The salad was ok Dessert was a choice of different cobblers which looked appealing but were cold who serves cobbler cold? And they ran out of biscuits!

Hotel was having a challenging day Many hotels in the area were sold out Their computer system went down, but the manager was sure they still had one or two rooms left

She advised me to go ahead and drive 40 minutes to her property, and that they would call me if anything changed I proceeded to inform my friends (who were helping me to find emergency lodging) that I had found a place and they could go to sleepUpon arrival at the hotel, I was informed that the computer system had displayed confusing or inaccurate information, and in fact, no rooms were available In addition, because of the quickly developing situation, they had neglected to call meI wish them the best in the process improvement journey

Dawn Dutra

Not impressed The toilet leaked at the base and I have wet pants because of it The shower floor is heavily soiled and has the feel of a valley when standing in the shower

There was a wet spot on the floor beside the bed For a $21400 plus taxes room, feel ripped off Room 101 is not worth the price, whirlpool tub or not And as a FYI, the wet area was not anywhere near the tub

Hotel is great most of the staff is nice lady named angel was rude as hell I showed up at 10am with reservations for a week I get I was early I didn’t even get a hello just we don’t have any rooms clean comeback a around noon no problem I left got some food walked back in a quarter to noon mid sentence saying not trying to bother you I get yelled at like I’d been comen in evert 5 min to ask like it’s hot outside I’m baking in my truck waiting was only going to ask if they had any rooms ready yet and if not if I could sit in the lobby AC she had a poor attitude not front desk kind of personality luckily one of the other staff was walking but she jumped on a radio and asked stall if any rooms were available and there was a bunch and she had Angel check me in I don’t do reviews but this kind off ticked me off iv been here before had a great experience with other staff and they have ethernet plugs that work in rooms and internet was strong enough for warzone so I had been looking forward to getting back here on my travels would be 5 star if this lady wasn’t at the front desk

Melissa & Erika were absolutely the best Melissa went out of her way & helped us with some lost luggage issue being delivered for my daughter Always a pleasant smile “Good morning” & “Good evening”

Erika is a absolute gem She made sure myself & kids were well fed in the morning & always was such a sweetheart with a positive vibe during a funeral trip They made our hard visit somewhat softer & I’m grateful

Claire Appel

We have been back to this location many times We find it to be consistently clean, with friendly staff, comfy beds and nice restroom amenities However, there were a few things strange last night

There was only one bath towel and washcloth, and the beds were not tucked in as usual, no biggie! But there were no comforters in the 2 duvet covers on the queen beds I felt a little cold during the night and would have liked a comforter Maybe it was an oversight but if we should return again, I’ll ask for a blanket!

Bob Gillingham

Check in and out were easy and email driven The coffee was good, which is an exceptional thing I did not feel that the room was clean enough: both beds had sheets, pillow cases, bedspreads that were wrinkled and loose, like thrown back

The bathroom floor could have used another cleaning I understand that firms are reducing services, etc, but not with my dollarIn fairness, I need to say my neatnick wife did not remark

Kara Poling Grubbs

Don’t bother with the restaurant and just go down the road The website isn’t updated so on Sunday they apparently close at 7 as one of the servers announced very loudly just shortly after we were seated (6:45pm) Extremely rude since we actually did look it up ahead of time

It was not our fault the website isn’t accurate We are currently sitting here waiting on our food, along with several other families and have been here now for over an hour waiting (not even including the time before we ordered) I understand staffing issues right now, however what really ruined it was the rudeness Even if there had been a sign on the door, that would have alerted us to go elsewhereUpdate: Food was edible but it somehow came out cold after this long of a wait Turkey and noodles was not good at all Chop steak was tender and tasted good but also cold according to my husband Chips and fries were crunchy and good texture but cold Mac and cheese tasted good Not sure if our waitress forgot about us, but everybody else was waiting just as long as we were it seemed I even asked for her to bring out my 3 year olds food sooner than ours and they all came at the same time

Karen Seymour-Ells

The room and bathroom are clean and remodeled, probably the best state or federal park Inn I’ve ever stayed in Staff was super nice My one quibble is the restaurant

We checked the menu ahead of time and asked at the front desk but they failed to tell us that they would be buffet only on the weekend There were plenty of options for us on the menu, but almost nothing on the buffet Given it’s location, bring food or plan a long drive if it won’t work for you

Holly Baumer

This place, the staff, the park rangers, the management- 1st class! I would give it 11 out of 10 stars As Indiana’s First, smallest, and most busy park, I would suggest a week day trip if you can The natural formations are mind-blowingly beautiful

Great for families, romantic getaways, or a girls/guys trip And there are other parks and adorable small towns nearby! We loved the whole area! The Indiana DNR hit it out of the park again!!

I highly recommend the silo rooms if you’re traveling as a family Our room was spacious and clean Breakfast was wonderful as well The pool was fantastic; particularly the slide and indoor/outdoor hot tub was a treat We will undoubtedly be back and look forward to making more memories

Emily Stranski

Great hotel! So cute(looks like a barn), attached to the Farmhouse restaurant by an indoor walkway Great pool area for kids age 1-12 I would say, and there’s an indoor/ outdoor hot tub for the adults! Rooms were clean, breakfast was standard fare for a continental breakfast Great staff, and it was spring break so they were obviously busier than normal but handled it beautifully

Would highly recommend staying here and enjoying all that it has to offer- it’s a great option for a few days of family fun!

My husband and I stopped here because we got a flat tire on the highway and were abandoned by roadside assistance The staff was incredibly accommodating to us and our dog that we were traveling with They showed compassion toward us and were willing to help with anything we needed

The room was very nice with very comfortable beds, delicious breakfast Amazing staff, amazing stay Would recommend

Wonderful stay We had dogs with us but they were accepted without question or problem! Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfy Desk folks eagerly accommodated our need to be first floor near the door and rooms together

Breakfast was yummy and plentiful! The “boss” was congenial and flexible when our needs changed All in allhighly recommended!!

Loved the night desk staff, easy check-in but tried to charge $30 more than reservation confirmation They did make it right Beds are very springy–could use updating, as well as the rooms

Breakfast was good but they started cleaning everything up at 8:40 and not refilling anything A poor family with three small children arrived at 9:03–eggs, sausage, biscuits, fruit, cereal, muffins were all put away; the yogurt/milk refrigerator was locked; and the Waffle irons were turned off

Definitely not the best Best Western I’ve stayed at The room was fine, breakfast was just ok, not much selection, but the 4 large stink bugs that invaded our room was the worst part Not being from around here, I had never seen these things before and didn’t know what they were

The staff at the front desk not caring about them didn’t help either I won’t be back to this location againUnfortunately I feel Best Western has lost a step during the pandemic, which to some degree is understandable But they need to do more to keep up with the competition For years Best Western was my go-to hotel, but that changed on this trip, other hotels are beginning to get a second look now on my trips

We chose to stay here based on a recommendation from someone who stayed here a year ago We enjoyed shipshewanna but we would not be staying at this hotel again-we had a double queen room and the sheets on both beds were filthy, we asked twice for clean sheets and we were told we would get them, never did

-the pool was absolutely disgusting The filter wasn’t on and there was a gross “swill” on top of the water- there was barely enough food for the breakfasts-the front desk gal told us all about other guests, how many rooms they booked and how many extra people that came and how disruptive they were beingVery disappointed Would be a beautiful hotel with proper management

Stayed in the suite 228 and was happy with the room, but carpet needed cleaned, there are spots on it, for the price it should be in little better shape 15 miles from the MEC arena, need more places to eat that stay open later, good breakfast, but needs better warmers, price was too expensive! Specially booked 2 months ahead

The other party i was with, booked at same time, didn’t get to check into 8pm they were still having to clean rooms that late!! Booking ahead we should not have to wait when having to go to show and not have our room ready Plus they had to change room around as instructed we wanted them next to each other They didn’t do that Either room was ready anyway Need better schedulers!

We used to love this place, it has went downhill fast! Room was in horrible shape, busted blinds, tub fell apart with black mold all over, ordered extras, never got them, was so hard to get fresh linen each night for showers even Only enough coffee for one cup first morning even though stayed 3 People were so loud all night Saturday
