Customer service was nicebut that was the only Marriott standard I noted at this location

The cold breakfast was not free, nor was the coffee! The general area was clean…but there were empty beer bottles at the outside lounge area for the entire week I stayed One room from the party I was with wreaked of marijuana, forcing a move…another just smelled musty The TV in my room was bolted to the desk…and didn’t fully swivel toward the bed I’d recommend bypassing this place and trying the Marriott across the parking lot

This location can be easily seen from the road There is plenty of open FREE parking Handicap accessible

There is plenty of shopping, restaurants, grocery stores, and movie theater nearby Just off I664 Staff is helpful, gracious, and friendly Breakfast is not included; however, I recommend local places to eat in or place an to go orders Door Dash is used in the area There is a gym and an inside poolWhat really impressed 👏 us was that the rooms were immaculate We used our black light on the carpet, bed, couch, and bathroom; there were no fluids The hotel gives you sanitizer wipes in your room, and there are sanitizer stations throughout the hotel

I had the Korean chicken They gave breat/wing portions of a chicken (1/2 chicken) Those in the group who had salmon were also surprised by the portion size

Everyone loved their meal!We had tuna bites, fried pickles and buffalo cauliflower for appetizers Everything was delicious! This was the first time I tried raw tuna (at least in chunk size) Oh my goodness, I wanted to eat the whole dish! The fried pickles came with a sauce that balanced the natural saltiness of the pickles as well as enhanced the overall taste The coating gave it a perfect crunch The cauliflower had just enough heatThis was my first visit to Nest, but I don’t plan on making it my last It was a well hidden secret (at the golf course)

My husband and I were so happy to have celebrated our ceremony and reception at Kiln Creek! I loved how our event space was personalized!Nikky was there to help me with almost everything, from the pre-planning process to the day of! She did an amazing job answering questions and working through my ideas She was pretty busy at the time, but we stayed in contact with one another to get it all done! I must commend her for also being our day-of coordinator, everything went so smoothly!Nikky/Kiln Creek allowed us to bring in our own vendors and only set a limitation for catering only; not the cake vendor My husband and I didn’t have a caterer in mind anyway, so it didn’t bother us

We chose our special brunch menu and the food was GREAT!! Nikky provided a vendor list to gather ideas and we were able to find an amazing DJI also enjoyed how Kiln Creek has a hotel, right there! We had a queen and king room for weekend which was EXTREMELY convenient! Thanks to Ivey for helping me with that process! I was able to tour the room and book our stay in advance My ladies and I had a spacious room to prepare for the ceremony; plenty of space to create two separate areas for hair and make-up! The groom and his men prepared themselves in the locker room of the event space, which was actually spacious and nice!My husband and I stayed at The Lodge that night, had a late checkout AND enjoyed the coffee and food at The Nest Kitchen We made visits to the restaurant just to have food and coffee! Our experience was phenomenal thanks to Nikky and her supporting staff and of course our other vendors!

My husband decided to make reservations here and bring me here for breakfast Food was greasy and not all what it says to be I had the Carne something that came in a bowl and the rice was hard not once but twice and I told the waitress no tomatoes (I’m allergic) bowl full of baby tomatoes

Husband had fries with his biscuit and gravy and had onions (he’s allergic) in it and the waitress fail to tell him that They sat us to the front table by the door and flies start swarming in like they was on a SWAT team I can say Shardey(?) was a gem out of the whole experience She was nice and considerate and she wasn’t our waitress!!! You think spending close to $50 on breakfast you would get something worth eating——–NOT!! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND EAT THERE!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮RATE— -0 for food

I LOVE the Marriott brand hotels they are my first option for any hotel because of the staff, cleanliness and if available breakfast options I love staying at the Residence Inn when I’m with my kids because of the size of the room

my stay at this particular hotel was TERRIBLE!! I would have rather stayed at the Holiday Inn than this hotel1 the breakfast options were terrible nothing was fresh food was in a bag and heated no toast or bagel options I have stayed at the Staybridge and there was a variety of food options I was very disappointed2 I know I booked for 2 days but I have 4 kids under the age of 5 and I requested if they could please help us tidy the room and all I got was NO with no explanation the front desk staff was very unfriendly and unwelcomingI will never stay at this location or recommend it

Michele BOWLES

Thought my reservation for one night had been canceled by member of the front desk and I would get refund since Mother was ill But Denise (manager) indicated that NO refunds would ever be given and that he had no right to give one on the cancelation Very unprofessional

Will never stay with Residence Inn by Marriott again and will no longer use Hotelscom

Renee Rivet

The hotel was very nice and clean we stayed in a king suite the space and layout was really great The hotel was located in the heart of alot of attractions and restaurants we’d planned to attend so it made perfect senseMy only concern was mild cleaning the vent in the shower as you look up was very dirty needed some TLC and the shower can use some type of slip resistant mat or something

Overall stay was great would book again if in town

I was not informed of the pool being closed until the night before checking in with no time to make other arrangements The digital key I requested was not activated and we were left standing in a 90 degree hallway attempting to open a door with a digital key that hadn’t been set up The reception desk apologized when they admitted they hadn’t completed the digital key setup

I was given a smoking room that had no ventilation, no opening windows or exhaust fans The room also shared a wall with the elevators So i was able to hear, quite clearly, every time the elevators were used The workout room was stifling hot as was the hallway outside my room The AC in my room was equally as uncomfortable as it was not quite enough cooling or arctic winds while operating The bathtub didn’t drain so my wife and I had to wash in shin deep water, turning the shower off so it wouldn’t overflow In the pork Capitol of the world, Smithfield Virginia you’d expect real sausage or bacon with the breakfast, but no it was all turkey based meat products Parking near any hotel entrance was virtually nonexistent and the limited spots were all occupied Because of this, my wife and I had to walk halfway around the building in the rain The amenities boasted of a coffee machine in every room so I brought my own, artisan coffee to brew But the coffee machine only accepted the hotels coffee packs in plastic trays A filter basket for brewing free grounds wasn’t available When I reported the poorly draining tub, the reply was “I’ll make sure our maintenance looks at that before the next guest” And when I requested a coffee machine to brew my own coffee, I was told “That’s not possible” At checkout, I reported all these issues It was met with raised eyebrows and an “I do apologize” No offer of a reduced price for my stay

Stayed at the Smithfield Hampton Inn for a wedding on Memorial Day weekend We were told we had to book for a minimum stay of 2 nights which was disappointing, but this was the only decent (seemed to be) hotel in the area Arrived to our room and the room seemed to be clean

My family and I showered and left for the wedding, returned back that evening and hopped in bed I felt something crawling on my arm, I was hoping it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be Unfortunately it was A BED BUG! A baby bed bug at that I jumped up and told my parents to check their bed, and there was an adult bed bug crawling up their comforter DISGUSTING! We called the front desk and the lady came up to our room and took a look at the bugs She offered to move our room and refund our money for the stay My parents stayed and moved rooms but I decided to pack my things and drive 4 hours back home I would never step foot in that hotel again We both filled out an incident report and was told someone from Hampton would be in touch with us within a week or two to check up on us Of course we haven’t heard a word from them VERY disappointing! I will never give Hampton or Hilton my business ever again

Neada Kenner

My family needed a room on short notice because we worked all day and came home to no running water due to construction workers cutting our water line We were made aware that there were only smoking rooms available, but given the short notice, I was okay accepting a smoking room However, we were placed in a room that looked like it had not been cleaned in some time, and it smelled like an ashtray

We could get over the smell, but the filth was like nothing I’ve ever seen, and our family travels frequently Dust covered the furniture, and it appeared that some white substance was splattered and dried all over the exterior of the refrigerator, bedside table, and headboards There were also visible handprints all over the headboards The desk was greasy, and the furniture was significantly stained The remote and the informational cards were both sticky I chose this hotel over the motel right down the street from my home and half the price because of the ratings, and I greatly regret it When I called the front desk to tell them about the room, they said they would send the manager, but the attendant arrived with a key for the room next door When I pointed out the dust, she replied, “that’s the part they don’t clean” I was utterly stunned at the response and the fact that the manager couldn’t be bothered to address the situation The new room smelled better and appeared somewhat cleaner, but after seeing the filth next door, I had to question the cleanliness of the new space My daughter and I ended up taking a shower and leaving because we were so uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the lack of response from management This place has tainted the Hilton name for us It was a God-awful experience

Spent 2 nights in a room, 1 night in a cabin This place is amazing, everyone, you come in contact with, Staff, residents, other guest very friendly and welcoming All buildings and grounds are very clean and well maintained

Rooms and cabins are comfortable Pools, Hot Tub and recreation areas are well maintainedThere is an on site restaurant and snack bar, however it was not opened the days we were here, due to staffing There are a few outside food options that are very good, but you will have to travel about 15-20 minutes to get to, plan accordinglyDid not want to leave, can not wait to get back

Austin Beach

It never fails to be a good time here The people here are always so kind and generous and you will feel immediately at home The events are always a blast and even on the none holiday or event weekends this place still has things going on

The property is well taken care of as well and the emanates at nice The restaurant has some amazing food as well and it’s perfect place for a good spot of food and relaxation out of the sun! There is also plenty of things to do around the grounds as well like volleyball courts, library, gaming room, dance hall, tennis courts, racket ball court, and even an over sized chess set!

Very nice facilities 2 pools: one indoor and one outdoor which is heated A brand new hot tub

Also a heated sauna A little out of the way: an hour from Hampton Roads We went for the day only I am told some areas flood with heavy rain but not when we were there It’s reasonably priced to join and visit We went there twice We went a third time and told we were banned No conflicts, no complains no explanation, nothing We have attended many resorts such as this without incident We are in many protected classes and are being discriminated against

I love it here very safe and comfortable Real food and not brown bags of food The front desk will help you anyway they can

Housekeeping real fast on changing out your sheets and towels This is my first time staying here but me and my husband have been here almost five days 🧡❤️Only issue I had was the door you have to pull it all the way or it won’t shut if you want to stay in Hampton stay here🧡❤️

Ann C

The cleanliness and status of the room was very good, but the configuration of the room was a little inconvenient The toilet paper was hard to reach when needed, the TV had to be swiveled to be seen from either the main area or the bed, the ac was constantly running since the bed was cut off from the vent, and there was a light blinking above the bed (which was annoying when the lights were off, for sleep) Not sure if all the rooms are like this, but it was for mine

cayli crockett

DO NOT STAY HERE I don’t normally leave reviews, but I checked in and 10 minutes after I got my son and I and all of our luggage upstairs- I called the front desk for a refund because I refused to stay in that dirty room The walls looked like they haven’t been washed since they built the building- almost like there was a coating over them

Hairs around the sink, huge water stains on the ceiling, stains on the lamp, phone, grout in the shower looks absolutely disgusting and had black mold in some corners, base boards looked like they’ve never seen soap I mean, it was the worst hotel I’ve been to I don’t normally complain or ask for refunds, but I could absolutely not stay there I will say they didn’t fight me on it when I told them I wanted to leave and with a refund She told me okay and released the charge on my card Haven’t gotten the refund yet, but I’m sure it’ll take a few days I don’t recommend

Not only was everything clean, but every single member of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful The staff running the breakfast area were consistently keeping everything stocked and clean and had great personalities We had the misfortune of accidentally leaving my 5 year olds most loved stuffed animal behind but the housekeeping staff had already found it and saved it for us so they could easily be reunited

Including any higher rated accommodations I’ve stayed in before, this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had

Janet Stellete

They upgraded us to the same suite both times we stayed thereVery clean and comfortable, quiet and my husband enjoyed the free breakfastsThe folks who check you in are so kind and helpful

They treat you like family But not those relatives noone wants to visit, they treat you like the good familythe ones you love and take the best care of!

Shout out to Sharon and Katie for making a mom traveling by herself with 2 small children feel safe and welcome The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was safe after a previous night at an unsafe and scary hotel (not associated with Holiday inn) This hotel is clean, safe, great breakfast, friendly staff who care about your well being! Highly recommend!

Gorgeous and stunning marina views from the balcony of my room were very much enjoyed during a three-night stay recently Whether it was a sunset or passing rainstorm I thoroughly enjoyed that element of my visit I had a routine of ordering room service and found the restaurant’s food quality and service to be great

I had a quiet night’s sleep in a comfy bed Professional and courteous front desk staff, which is always appreciated

Samantha Harris

I stayed here before I moved to the area The hotel and room were clean and well kept but not particularly noteworthy The view of the Pagan River was lovely though and the food at the restaurant is amazing

I also love that the hotel is connected to a bunch of small businesses where you can get some pretty unique gifts and souvenirs It is also across the street from an entrance to Windsor Castle Park, which has great trails, views, fishing, kayaking, and grassy areas to picnic

Honest Fellow 53 years ago

I stay here about 3-5 nights a year since 2017The rooms are always nice and cleanThis time I had a rather annoying experience

I paid extra ($25) for a late checkout at 1pmI wanted to catch some sleep after a Night Shift and before going to the airport to fly back home When I came back to the hotel I asked for confirmation of my late checkout just to be sure that they remembered to put that in since I paid for it and don’t want to be interruptedAt 11:25am, a loud boom ripped me out of my sleep It was a maintenance guy trying to open my door but got caught by the swing lock He said he wasn’t informedWhen I checked out I told the staff that that was exactly the reason why I reminded them of my late checkout that I paid for They smiled and said “we apologize for that”I would have liked a refund of the $25 since the whole situation defeated the purposeOh well, i will still continue to come here and it’s worth the 4 stars I’ll just bring a big glittery sticky note next time and stick it to the outside of my door so that it gets communicated to everyone that the guest in this room paid for a late checkoutThe restaurant is fantastic

Beautiful Facility – Road Noise is Bad (depending on room)Before bed time, I was about to give this Holiday Inn 5 stars Very clean; professional; up-to-date; bed was adequate But then

I tried to actually sleep I was in a room fairly close to the freeway on the top floorThe road noise on the freeway side was almost unbearable While the wall-to-wall windows are nice for a view, they make the sound intrusive I had earplugs in, and a sound machine blaring, and I still couldn’t block out the road noise (It’s that low rumble that rattles your bones) Aggressive motorcycles; big, loud tractor-trailers at 3 AM I lost at least 2 hours of sleep It was only after I made a “wall of pillows” using couch cushions to block some of the noise that I was finally able to get some sleep (see pic)I suggest this Holiday Inn removes the wall-to-wall windows and goes with smaller, sound-proof windows – at least the high floors that face the freeway Yes, it doesn’t look as nice, but at least guests can sleep

Dianna Fontanez

I wish I could do no stars at all Terrible service, staff was rude, wouldn’t even greet when u walk in I requested towels, shampoo and soap for 2 days in a row and never got it

Worst service ever Hallway rugs were dirty since the first day we arrived They definitely don’t keep up with the cleaning here which is so important Definitely not worth what you’re paying, extremely disappointing I do not recommend this hotel

My wife and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at this spectacular inn We could not have enjoyed it more The property is in pristine condition as it has recently been renovated

The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on in years! Breakfast is included from the café just down the street They have an on-sight restaurant where we had our anniversary dinner The service was attentive and professional She was most helpful describing the menu items noting her favorites after getting an idea of what we enjoyed We will be going back but more importantly, will be telling all of our friends about this hidden gem!

J Naylor

We booked in advance for a 6 night stay to visit family After we arrived we were notified our rate didn’t include breakfast Ok

not a huge deal yet a little disappointing for a B&B Had that been made clear upon booking or even in the conformation would’ve been helpful Every window to our room was unlocked with no screens on any I’m fairly certain that’s a regulationWe were given 2 towels and when we asked for extra we just got 2 more No housekeeping services When we asked what to do with our trash we were told where the dumpster was out back while the presumed manager sat behind a desk on his cell phone We wouldn’t recommend under the current lazy manager there now If management doesn’t care why would the staff

Brooks Perez

What an amazing stay! Impeccable service, great accommodations in the Washington Suite! Met and exceeded our needs! This is a gem of a stay if you’re trying to get away or passing through Great food available In the on-site restaurant and the morning breakfast they contract to at the Smithfield Gourmet Bakery was a lovely touch We booked through Airbnb

A little confusing on what to do with the key at checkout on a Sunday morning, but nothing to kick any dust up over! Wish we could have stayed longer, and I’m sure we’ll be coming back

First day, Room 502 smelled like weed/smoke (my husband has asthma) and had holes in the shower with a spider in it Scared my daughter so bad she almost fell out trying to get away Its ironic we left a quality inn due to the smell of smoke thinking the Hilton would be more upscale

We ended up switching to room 302 Second day, pool and hot tub closed; family was all geared up to swim but that didn’t happen Third day, the pool was closed (hotel maintenance) and this was the last day I was there I booked this stay for a large clean room and for the pool so I could spend poolside time with family whom I was visiting The price for this room compared to the lack in Hilton service coupled with smoky, outdated rooms was severely outweighed and truly a let down However, the housekeepers and receptionist were amazing 2 stars for good housekeeping (despite the spider), a comfortable bed, and pleasant receptionists Also, the digital key did not work on any doors

Consuella Wilson aka Stefaniee

Enjoyed my weekend Staycation The king size Junior Suite was very comfortable The made to order omelet, 2 meats , pancakes and fruit for breakfast were tasty and there were a variety of breakfast choices as well as dinner choices in the Evening

I most enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzziFor warmer days or nights they also have a grill station and patio area But one hidden treasure I discovered there was the ballroom with its own private entrance available and boardroom which would be great for celebrations, weddings, reunions or moreAnd the staff from the front desk to breakfast to housekeeping was amazing

Silas Calhoun

Some guest(s) violated hotel policy by smoking in the rooms This is a challenge that many hotel brands face However, there should be mechanisms in place to prevent, ideally, or reduce the aftereffects

Smoke trickling into your room is an awful thing to wake up to IMO Aside from things that were uncontrollable, the staff was exceptional Engaging and accommodating making my overall experience a decent one I’d rate them a 45 🌟 if they can find a way to prevent guests from smoking in rooms

Stayed 2 nights in a suite Breakfast was very good, and I liked that they had disposable gloves for a sanitary way to get your food The front desk was extremely nice and informative

I left some jewelry in my room on accident and housekeeping was honest and turned it in the to manager who contacted me to return it to me Very happy with my experience and will stay here again

The General Manager harassed me I was laying on a couch in the lobby waiting for my coworkers and she came over to me and told me that the couch was for sitting and if I wanted to lay down, I could go to my room Like a toddler! It was absolutely ridiculous and she did not apologize

I assume she thought I was a teenager instead of a 35+ year old woman On a business trip! If I want to wait for my group I should be allowed to I was on the far side of the couch, not visible to incoming guests and I was tired after traveling but we were going to get food and come backAlso, I travelled with my pet and they put me on the 4th floor I can’t bring my dog in an elevator so I requested a room on the first floor I was informed I would have to pay a new pet deposit for a new room, despite the fact that the Pet Policy agreement stated that the pet deposit was for the STAY, not for the ROOMI will never stay here again and I will definitely be informing anyone who has to go to Fort Eustis that this is the last place to stay Never again!

The suites are great If you’ve ever stayed at a Homewood Suites or Embassy Suites, this was in line with that, very comfortable with the separate bedroom I didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast, but it’s free

Lots of restaurants and stores nearby, and easy access to I-64 I’ll probably stay here if I ever need a hotel near Busch GardensMy only complaint is the wifi was kind of slow, slower than most other hotels, including other Hamptons For most of the time it worked okay, but for a short period of time it didn’t work at all for YouTube (when I tried again 30 minutes later it was okay) Maybe it was just a bad day for the ISP, I don’t know But in 2022 wifi is very important and can be a deal breaker, so hopefully they can keep it stable and fast
