We were really excited to stay a night at the Indigo in Tuscaloosa but we are overall disappointed with our stayThe hotel has a very nice stylish look but upon further inspection, our room wasn’t adequately cleaned before our stay There was a certificate saying the room was cleaned by Kenyatta, however we found the previous guest’s hair on the shower wall, trash under the dresser, and the upholstered cube/footstool looked dirty

I saw room service tray left in the hallway for our entire stay Rooms were advertised as sound proof but that was not the case, you can hear people in the hallwayThe Lookout restaurant was okay The outside eating area was smaller than expected and no nice views at night Service was slow The burger was good and the crab dip was good as well but there’s no microwaves in rooms to heat up leftoversThe breakfast option was a very nice sit down service A drink is included and one entree option I tried an orange cranberry muffin and my husband got the pancakes Each entree came with fruit The pancakes were a much better value and tastier than just one pastry We enjoyed our breakfast and the serviceAt checkout, no one asked how our stay was Hotel Indigo was a poor value for the price and needs higher room cleaning standards

We had such high hopes for our stay Unfortunately, we left with the unanimous decision not to returnThere were 4 of us- my husband and myself and also another couple (2 separate rooms)We were not taken by surprise by the inflated nightly rate with a huge concert going on in town

That’s actually why we were there also! But, for $320 a night, per room, we would’ve expected things like a microwave in our room or even a complimentary breakfast Neither were providedThe biggest disappointment was the fact that the restaurant and bar were closed when we returned from the concert We forfeited making food purchases at the concert thinking we would utilize the on-site restaurant/bar at Indigo I fully understand that this was a Thursday night but why shut them down at 10pm when the concert went on passed 11? Seemed like a huge missed opportunity for sales on Indigo’s part!!! There were even tons of people trying to get in for food/drinks by those who weren’t renting rooms, but just wanted to have some downtime post-concert That was such a let down and quite frankly, a dumb decisionThe bed was comfortable, our room was clean and the location was very convenient but for the price tag, we expected more!!

Best place to stay in Tuscaloosa!!! The restaurants are delicious, the service is great, and the rooms are clean and stylish The flatbreads are amazing

as well as, the spinach dip, crab dip, hummus, the black bean burger, and the lookout burger Sam provided us with great service at the rooftop restaurant! She was friendly and fun! The view in the rooftop restaurant is breathtaking! This is a must go even if you live here!

Most people who read reviews want to know if the reviewer would stay again Some sites even ask “would you recommend this property?”In both cases the answer is a resounding Yes, which is a result of the pleasant, caring staff Leslie, Emily & Stephanie are all mentored by a kind and gracious manager, “Mr

Huey” Harris, who is mentioned positively by many Google reviewersIt’s a rare review that tells how a customer was “blessed” by their stay instead of describing the clean room or the great breakfast or the other nice amenities like the courtyard out front, but in my case that’s exactly the feeling I left with I was incredibly fortunate to stumble across this location for a simple night’s rest only to discover that the stay turned into more of a visit with friends & familyThere’s a reason this location was rated as one of Tuscaloosa’s best The staff is the embodiment of 1 Corinthians 13 If you want to see the parable of the Good Samaritan played out in real life, and not just read about it in Luke 10: 25-37, I would encourage you to give this award-winning property, under the guidance of an award-winning manager, a try I believe they will welcome you into their family and you will leave as refreshed and invigorated as the many other reviewers who have left positive commentsIf no one is waiting and you want to hear an inspirational story, ask Mr Harris to tell you his It is quite the testimony You will be blessed, too, if he has time to share it with you Be safe Stay well May travel mercies go with you and yours

My Wife and I travel the country for our job and stay in many different hotels I have to say the hospitality and cleanliness of this place is outstandingWe had a technical issue with our TV and the general manager came to our room to help us

His name is HUEYThis guy is incredibly nice, polite, very accommodating, and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of us I can’t say enough how he impressed us because we meet so many different managers NOW the breakfast was awesome because we actually had REAL eggs no kidding I would recommend Surestay to everyone Great job HUEY

Charla Pannell

Highly recommend for the price Our room was roomy, clean, and comfortable The reception at check in was very polite

However, part of the reason we chose to stay was for the hot breakfast until 9:30 (posted on the placard in the room) and when we went to eat at 8:15, there was nothing despite my husband seeing the hot food there 10 minutes earlier The man at the front desk just said “oh yeah, that’s been gone… since 8:00”

Seriously one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed We had a conference hosted there and the staff was incredible They went above and beyond for us in every aspect of the stay

Had an open bar in the evenings and free breakfast that was outstanding (great selection of food, not cheap powdered eggs and such like other hotel breakfasts) The guy that checked us in was delightful and made sure all of us were taken care of Excellent stay, excellent service, excellent food and amenities Highly recommended!

April Brown

My Mother stay here for her class reunion and she could not stop talking about the great service and hospitality she experienced during her stay! The Embassy Suites by Hilton Tuscaloosa is a beautiful hotel located in downtown Tuscaloosa The hotel is easy to find, situated in a beautiful location and has plenty of parking Our suite was comfortable and felt more like an apartment then a hotel room

The room is laid out nicely with lots of privacyThe beds and pillows were very comfortable Our kitchenette was stocked with various drinks and snacks The bathroom was well stocked with bath towels and bath necessitiesThe room, the hotel and the hotel grounds are spotless The hotel is located downtown so you are within walking distance of all the local shops, restaurants and the local city park which hosts local bands and food trucks on Friday nights during the summerThe staff here is amazing, everyone for from the second you step into the hotel is friendly and helpful We were treated like family by every single employee that we encountered

Loved the location Brenda and Kathy were so nice and helpful Check in and check out were a breeze, and housekeeping is consistent

I have no complaints, the room was spotless I felt so comfortable and tranquil during my entire stay If you’re looking for a quiet area in town that’s still close to all the amenities Tuscaloosa has to offer, this is the place to go

Jessica Dial

My husband and I stayed one night on 2/25/2022, the hotel was very nice and clean Autumn at the front desk was amazingly helpful and super sweet Only gave 4 stars because it could have been a touch cleaner, there were cobwebs on the wall and the full-length mirror, and some dirt on the floor of the bathroom, and the tub has someone else’s hair which is gross to me

The walls were also VERY thin our neighbor snored that’s all we heard ALL NIGHT LONG So that was enough of a deterrent that we won’t be staying again But it’s all according to your needs, and I would not tell anyone not to stay there We are just don’t do well with noises in hotels 7/10 would recommend but not the hotel for us

Kishina Brown

For this to be a new hotel I figured the accommodations would be just a little bit better especially for the price, but for a Comfort Inn property I see why they go down hill pretty quick First the room was half cleaned from the coins and trash I found on the floor Then after staying for two nights I asked for maid service and once I thought the room was cleaned I noticed the bed was made but the sheets were not changed and the bathroom was just restocked with towels and the counter wiped down but the used towels were not discarded

The plus was the fact the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was good, and the lobby nd elevators were very clean

On our way to the hotel and when we arrived had us wondering just what we had gotten ourselves into, but when we actually settled in and relaxed we started to see the charm of the place The hotel seems very dated and gives “The Shinning” vibes, but I don’t count that as a negative, it can be refreshing in the sea of retro modern hotel designsThe parking lot is large and spacious as well as well lit

The staff was very friendly and helpful and put in the effort to at least try to fulfill all requests The walls and doors seem kind of thin, the lights buzz, and the the room didn’t have enough towels But, the bed, sheets, and room were clean (the carpet is very old) and the shower has glorious water pressureThe breakfast is pretty mediocre only other apples and bananas and some processed cereal containers, muffins, bagels, yogurt, coffee, tea, and other common quick breakfast items No fresh hot foodsIn conclusion, the hotel is off the interstate yet somewhat secluded, it’s a dated building that is still charming, and it is an affordable option that we would probably visit again

Last night my car got totaled and i had to check in late with no reservation, the woman at the front desk was still able to get me a room and asked if i needed anything She later called my room and offered to get me food since it was a holiday and there is no place that i can walk to around here After a very horrible day, she made this place feel very safe and inviting and I’m very thankful there are people like her in this world

Two words: BED BUGSI was actually reasonably satisfied with my overnight stay Not the cleanest place I’ve stayed at but probably at least on the level of a Super 8 Motel (

or so I thought) and I’ve stayed at a few of those and survived so I generally just take it as it comes and try not to complain much Say what you want about Super 8 but I’ve never had bed bug bites after staying at one In fact, I’ve never in my life been bitten by bed bugs until I stayed one night at the Greystone Inn & Suites in Vance, Alabama this past Thursday May 19th 2022I stated that I was reasonably satisfied with my stay because it wasn’t until several days after that I began to develop itchy red bite marks, several on my feet and ankles, behind my knees, at my belt-line and near my shoulders It didn’t take long for the internet to educate me on exactly what these bites are and where they came fromNot only will I never stay at Greystone again but hotels and motels in general may now be completely off the menu for me moving forward These bites are itchy, red and painful to scratch I’ve been on the road for 2+ months now on my current trip, been staying exclusively at RV parks, and this was the only time I’ve opted to stay overnight at a hotel as a nice break from the usual What a bad ideaThe front desk clerk was a nice woman who baked some delicious cookies This is the only nice thing I have to say about Greystone Inn & SuitesDirty and full of bugs

Stopped here on a road trip Friendly, welcoming staff Clean room

Good breakfast with good variety It is just off the highway which is a plus but also have to deal with the highway noise I took one star away due to the loud noise from the highway traffic making it hard to sleep If you can get a room on the opposite side of the highway, I would recommend this hotel

Every hotel needs a Haley McBride Room was clean Night was quiet Comfortable bed Great experience overall

Brooke Rhodes

Check in was very simple and easy and the room was clean and exactly what I was expecting Great food options right around the area as wellHighlight is this is a pet friendly hotel with a $75 deposit required

Completely worth it!Only complaint was that it was a little noisy to hear the people above us Although that could have just been due to those specific guests

Robert Deguzman

No the hotel staff was very accommodating, the room was very clean, close to all shopping fast food restaurants as well as nice restaurantsBut the reason why I gave it five stars is because the staff did everything in their power for their guests that means not only me but everybody else feel at home, it would turn on the gas grill so you can grill steaks burgers hot dogs whatever you wanted and if you’re out there just want to socialize and have a couple drinks they would turn on the fireplace for youDon’t take my word for it go experience it for yourself I pretty confident that you would probably leave the same review that I just did

Probably the nicest Hampton Inn on our trip Low rating because I fell in the bathroom getting out of the tub You need to have your tub’s lowered so that they are not so high and I did hold onto the handle provided but still ended up on the floor bruised on my right side

I did tell the lady when I checked out Service and breakfast was wonderful

Carol Jacob

Hotel was very nice, recently redone, good restaurant next door, hotel staff was very nice and helpful, breakfast was good, room was quiet (no road noise), reasonably priced, Neutrogena products It was a bit of the highway, but was fine with usHampton Inn is our go-to hotel

Clean hotel Well kept up Our family felt safe there

The complimentary breakfast was very nice with lots of options The staff were welcoming and friendlyOne of our keys didn’t work, despite me taking it back and having it “reprogrammed” – maybe just a glitch, but other than that it was a very decent place to stayI wouldn’t call the rooms huge or the place luxurious, but it was very adequate to our needs and well kept up

I have stayed at many Fairfield Inns and this one does not own up to the expected quality I have found at other locations When we arrived, we were told the elevator did not work so we would need to take the stairs As we walked down the hall to the stairs, there was a waste basket catching water dripping from the ceiling, and the next morning the basket was overflowing with water on the floor

As we walked to breakfast, we noticed dead roaches on the stairway The wall on the landing in the stairwell had plastic covering what appeared to be bad drywall The breakfast offered was pathetic One apple was available, only biscuits without gravy and no bread or bagels even though a toaster was available There was no oatmeal or cold cereals available, so basically you had a choice of scrambled eggs, prepackaged omelet, bacon or sausageThe only reason they deserved a two star rating was that the attendant at the front desk when we checked in was very friendlyThis place definitely needs a lot of improvements to keep up with what Marriott would expect from their franchisees

Don’t let these pictures deceive you!!This place has been completely remodeled and the rooms look greatEvery thing from the floors to the head board to the kitchen and bath Appliances are stainless steel and countertops are granite

Worth paying a little more for a fresh clean room

If this room wasn’t booked through work, I would have stayed somewhere else 1st minor things, in the shower the water sprays everywhere very easily, gotta make sure your curtain doesn’t slip at all or you’ll flood your bathroom The fridge sometimes makes a small tapping sound which is creepy in pitch black

The evening front desk person often is just hanging in the lobby watching TV with I’m assuming a boyfriend So my bigger things They started renovating, which is great long term but as soon as they started I started seeing a couple roaches in my room in the bathroom Told front desk they offered to spay, not offer change rooms or anything Then instead of renovating when people are up for the day, they start renovating at 650/7am So as your sleeping for work, you have banging that shakes the room, drills, Saws, scraping, all kinds of super loud sounds so that sleep is impossible

Wesley Stokes

This experience started off on the wrong foot I made a reservation online using the IHG REWARDS CLUB APP The day I was traveling to the hotel, I received a call that my reservation would be cancelled because my card was declined

I ended up having to pull over in order to provide a new card to hold my reservation When I called the card company to determine the reason my original reservation was declined, the card company stated that the hotel incorrectly entered the expiration date 3 different times when attempting the charge for the reservation I even verbally provided the information over the phone, & it was still entered incorrectlyThis was a temporary hindrance to my travel, as I had to pull over at a safe location in order to provide the correct information to maintain my reservation This was all because of a clerical error that was no fault of my ownOnce I arrived to the hotel, the clerk was extremely helpful & apologized for the inconvenience of the card issue The room was clean and comfortable, as well as being a convenient location I would stay again, however I will definitely make sure that the hotel confirms the correct information on file prior to traveling

The hotel has a lot of amenities and amazing staff Unfortunately, the rooms are poorly renovated and cared for daily The rooms had carpet spots, marks on the walls, dusty vents, damage furniture, rushed vents and pipes in bathroom, mold around the sink, door and mirrors were not cleaned especially at the bottom

The rooms and certain places of the smelled like mold but is cover with a horrible strong smelling fragrance spray

Caroline Hackney

Our stay here was comfortable and enjoyable The hotel has an understated elegance and fits in very well with the architecture of the rest of the campus Our room was pleasant with comfy beds and everything we needed, except possibly a shower cap and some places to hang up towels

It was also a little tricky to close the cabinet door where the fridge was, but these were minor inconveniences in what was overall a great place to stay It was a nice surprise to discover that staying here gave us free access to the museum next door Would recommend staying here

Richard at the front desk was very welcoming Just a genuine, kind person The grounds & Lodge ( it’s not a hotel, it’s much, much more than that so let’s call it a Lodge) were beautifully maintained

Our room was spacious although it was one of the smaller rooms Clean & the bed was just right Our windows overlooked an enchanting walkway into the woods The full on breakfast was good and was more than continental The Lodge was very quiet but I read if a wedding reception etc is going on you might need to be in a room farther away from the house Us – we would have crashed and partied with the group🤣! This is where you want to stay!We only got to stay one night but I highly recommend it to anyone looking for old world charm and ambience

I’ve stayed here twice as a midway point driving between North Carolina and Texas Both times I have made a reservation with little notice and arrived quite late, and the staff have never taken issue I travel with my hypoallergenic cat who the staff are always eager to meet before I bring him upstairs

I like that on the pet deposit form they even ask for his name (yes, you do have to pay extra for a pet, but it is cheaper than at other hotels) The rooms are always impeccably clean You’ll never find a hair that isn’t yours, and the rooms are well decorated, modern, and comfortable I only sleep there but the downstairs amenities seem quite nice, if you’re eating there, grabbing a snack, or socializing Check out is simple and there is always well lit parking right in the front I will always use this hotel as my stopping point for future trips

The place is fine, but a lot of details are a little off, like no TV channel on the gym equipment (though they have a peloton bike) the toilet was running constantly

but the shower took a bit of jiggling to get goingBreakfast was good though Overall a good experience but the facility need a bit of attention

I stayed here from 7/10-7/15 We booked this hotel so we could visit the University of AlabamaPros:The hotel is close to the University of Alabama, restaurants, and shops

The staff is very friendly There is a large closet that was great to use, and the beds are comfortableCons:Our room was not very clean upon checking in There was hair in the sheets and popcorn in the bathroom There was no soap to wash our hands with The shampoo and conditioner in the shower was empty Our toilet ran for our entire stay We contacted maintenance, however the person who could fix the problem was not available The wifi is AWFUL, our computers would not work, and we were unable to use some of the features on the TV because of the wifi Maintenance equipment and laundry were constantly in the halls There are several shipping containers in the parking lots along with construction equipment I believe the hotel is undergoing much needed renovations I would hope that all of the above problems will be resolved with the updates

I NEVER had a reservation booked through this hotel Contacted the hotel and they said I had to contact Expedia, who then contacted the hotel First attempt, the hotel informed Expedia employee that they were having computer issues and could not address the issue

Second attempt, the hotel said they were standing by their policy and charging me, even though I never had a reservation Will never stay here

This hotel has been updated and is in great shape! The pool is a saltwater pool and was clean The rooms were clean, and for the price, our stay was overall a great value The complimentary breakfast was good and there was a nice variety – only negative here is the breakfast area is very small, with only two tables available

We’d definitely stay here again

Great staff The rooms where nice and clean and updated Great place to stay

Don’t let the outside fool u Not that it’s ugly just the outside doesn’t match the inside Old style hotel with updated interior The outside looks clean too Very nice painted No loud neighbors Would recommend to anyone The staff is super nice The only thing I didn’t like was we where charged extra for checking in early I was already renting five rooms Should of been charged extra for the business I was bringing

Been living here for about two weeks and the rooms are great! Hardworking housekeeping as well as 10 star customer service from Dominique, Sequoria, @ Pamela! Regardless of a guest trying to accuse me of smoking in the building, having front desk call my room to mention the smoking fee as if I was, rather than watching camera or coming upstairs themselves to have a sniff, before accusing me I enjoyed this hotel very much Even Small things like so, can throw a person off on their trip Other than that, Breakfast is great and you have a wider variety of snacks and food here
