I’ve stayed at many Marriott’s in the US and overseas

For the most part, I believe that this chain hotel does their very best and has many elegant and high-end locations Just like any other chain restaurant/hotel however, some locations just fall through the cracks So, my my 2-cents is don’t judge Marriott’s overall performance and quality by this particular locationPros:1) Within walking distance to a mall and Movie Theater2) Short commute to work3) Nice courtyard with a pool (No jacuzzi)4) The workout room is larger in size and well equippedCons:1) Parking lot security is non-existent Some thief went through my vehicle Nothing was stolen because it was a rental and I had very little personal property in there anyways2) Showers are terrible; the water pressure was very low and the showerhead is poor quality3) The Coffee maker is very poor quality I had to the hit the button several times just to fill one cup up4) No room service There is only a bar at the lobby and snacks at the lobby counter area The hours of operation of the bar were only in the morning and evening Those hours were very unreliable Many times they closed early due to “staffing” So all your left with are tv dinners from the front counter (microwave is only in the lobby, not in the rooms)5) Housekeeping only occurs once every 3 days If its missed because of a Do Not Disturb sign on one day, then you got to wait until the next cycle (unless of course you call and make a special request)6) There is a small fridge in the room but its not very cold and there is no freezer section7) Laundry is done by coin operated machines by the lobby ($5 in quarters plus cost of soap) My advice is to go to a executive cleaners just 5m down the road

I have stayed in worse in the SJC area How much hair in the shower from previous guests is too much? When I see dirty bathroom facilities it makes me wonder what else is being missed on cleaning between guests This shower had long hairs wrapped around the included soap dispensers, pubic looking hairs stuck to the side, and what I imagine was the stubble from someone shaving their face on the little lip

I like the Courtyard chain because they usually have better housekeeping When I mentioned the state of the shower to the FDC she at least responded with an ok but otherwise didn’t seem too surprised to hear it

I’ve stayed here a number of times for short trips of a few days, since it’s right next to my company’s main office space I’ve had pleasant stays every time I have visited The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, the pricing is reasonable, and the building and guest parking is secure

The complimentary breakfast included is usually far above average hotel breakfast standards, and the breakfast buffet area and seating is always spotless clean The coffee provided in the lobby is surprisingly good too This is not fancy digs, but it is dependable and well managed I haven’t used many of the other amenities, but I know I will be back soon on my next trip to the office

The stay was excellent because of the staff I had to take an extremely early call and didn’t want to wake my family I was sitting in the freezing cold courtyard and a staff member offered to let me use the meeting room

Also the Manager William was so incredibly accommodating I had to book a large group for a high school team Hence why I was there He was so helpful throughout the entire process Five star service through and through The staff even made breakfast a bit earlier so the team could eat Very nice people!!!

rhonda robers

I’d like to acknowledge the staff member named William His service was superior! He went above and beyond for us to get us accommodations for our stays while our son was going through stem cell transplants in Stanford hospital nearby He was very empathetic towards our situation and was very helpful

The beds were comfortable The location was great Close to the airport and just a short drive to Stanford hospital The building and parking lot was secure And overall we felt safe The rooms were very clean and the free breakfast was spectacular! We will be sure to return to stay here in the next few months as our son goes through treatments I highly recommend this hotel

Very comfortable place to say, we stayed for weeks I even left town for a couple of days and kept my room The staff make me feel comfortable and safe from the first day

Staff shows that they care about their guest Made sure I received my packages, cleaned the room as often as I wanted, and had ample food for breakfast They also have an awesome coffee maker If you plan to stay for a few days the rate is better The only issue I experienced was the tub only worked as a shower and the elevator door is slow (I usually use the stairs) I would return without hesitation

I M

Should have left from the moment we checked in Made a reservation for 3 nights with AAA and paid in full when I reservedUpon arriving the area felt sketchy, near the freeway and an unhoused gentleman standing at the entrance staring

The entrance was also shared with 2 businesses a bit different than what we are used toWhen checking in , lobby was empty and a little girl behind the front desk kept calling for her mom She ran to the back room and we could hear her telling her mom guests were there over and over We didn’t see anyone till a couple minutes after We weren’t even acknowledged by front desk Front desk agent walked out texting on her phone and after having us wait for another minute she asked for id and credit card No small talk but at least she gave us keysElevator was a bit rough Upon arriving to the room it showed it’s age Room was dark and carpet rough There was stained furniture but at least it came with the whirlpool they advertised(didn’t get to use it just wasn’t feeling it) When showering the water pressure was low Looking out the window was a great view of an empty land dump There was also noise at night from the cars passing byUpon staying longer even with security posted at the door it still felt sketch and uneasy We decided to contact AAA to let them know we wanted to check out early it just didn’t feel comfortable They got back to us and let us know the hotel wouldn’t refundUpon checking out the next morning the manager mentioned the reservation was prepaid and un-refundable and asked if I still wanted to leave and why I only told him about feeling unsafe the outdatedness and the water pressure I thought maybe he would see the bad experience we had and at least try to refund the last night but he just mentioned how he had a security guard posted at night and listened to the rest of my gripe He then said ok and checked us out At least he was kinder and wished us a happy cinco the MayoWe had given this hotel a chance since it was one of the top hotels in San Jose featured on TripAdvisor but it just wasn’t for us We ended up taking a loss and staying our other 2 nights at the Juniper Hotel What a difference and only 50 dollars extra a night compared to the price we paid for this oneI never got a refund and am rating 2 stars only because the little girl was a great host and the manager at least listened to my woes

Diane Tinker

Clean rooms, friendly front desk staff at checkin Didn’t partake of breakfast but appreciated that tea, coffee, & creamers were left accessible after hoursOnly complaint is the very noisy location

Never heard traffic from the 101 but Tulley St, adjacent to the hotel, is extremely noisy bring ear plugs also, there’s a unnecessary $5/day charge to park, really???!!!

I stayed here for a week It was a very nice and clean hotel with a very comfy bed I loved the shower but wished the water pressure was better

There is no daily housekeeping so you have to get your items from the front desk The front desk staff were very polite and accommodating The breakfast was not impressive for the cost you pay to stay here I only went down on my first day and never went back for breakfast There is plenty of close by walking distance places to eat I would definitely stay here again

Alisha Thornton

The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel and the art and restaurant are amazing The gym and the business center are greatThe rooms are cozy with nice views of the Bronx

Although we had several changes, Valentina Rodriguez at the front desk was quick to help, very professional and the best ever She is so polite and helpful with exceptional customer service One of the hotel staff messed up our reservation and was rude but Valentina fixed all of her mistakes (over charging, etc) quickly and efficiently Her knowledge, sweet and professional demeanor made up for it She knows what she is doing and is quick to get the job done I will continue to stay at this hotel every time I go to The Bronx Ask for Valentina!

The room was actually very filthy! There were fingerprints on all the doors and the furniture The bathroom floor had not been cleaned properly There was a food wrapper and someone’s tooth floss left on the floor by the bed near the nightstand! So, obviously that means they did not vacuum at all!! And if that wasn’t enough, the carpet was filthy with large dark spots! If we weren’t in such a hurry with situations we had there in San Jose, we would’ve had someone come and check the room, switch our room, etc!Our commitments didn’t permit this kind of time! We ended up wiping down the room and cleaning things our self! Which is RIDICULOUS for the price we were charged! All of this after we went ahead and booked with a higher price than our previous stay there, and we only did this because it was in such excellent and immaculate condition on our prior stay, with the previous owner/management

We assumed it would be in such a clean state as our previous stayThis place is under new ownership/management, and they do not care about the cleanliness anymore, or the customer! We even tried reaching the manager, who we were referred to, but he NEVER replied at all to our concerns! THERE ARE MANY OTHER CHOICES IN THE AREA, DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED FINANCES HERE!! The reception persons have also changed and that is also a BIG NEGATIVE WE WILL NOT BOOK HERE ANYMORE!!

This should have been my first option for planning a Father’s Day Weekend get away with my family Compared to another hotel in San Jose was just not a good fit for a family environment or service and amenities This is like day and night

I like this Quality Inn San Jose Airport much better than the other “airport” located hotelMainly in SJ to visit the SJ Center for the Arts Although the first hotel was under ten minutes from that place, this Quality Inn location was a fit further drive from our visit, it is well worth the other “airport” location was horrible surroundings (people) and in generally unsafe for a family with childrenDuring this post pandemic period, the hotel is more in tuned in and intuitive to the customers needs Hot Breakfast -great Room, amenities fantastic Great location: close to freeway access, restaurants, Gas Station across the same street Overall a better location that the other initial hotel stayThe staff is friendly, knowledgeable & accommodating The room was fantastic The building in general is great

Pratyush Rai

Nice rooms, with prompt service on every alternate days Will certainly prefer it againOnly for the location, I am considering it as 9

5/10 As for a newcomer to San Jose, there’s just Jack in the box or Tirupathi Bhimas at a walkable distance Otherwise, Taco Axolotl food truck saves the day or Rotten Robbies (across the road) can get you some sandwiches/burgers/bagels, the concern will be only for the night However, if you have a car to drive around, or grubHub/Doordash installed – the location is 10/10 There is even a Pinewood park close by You can get 66 VTA bus nearbyNothing that can be disliked about the stay Although my room was facing the street, barely got disturbed by traffic Breakfast was worthy All in all, pretty decent

Front desk people were a pain, they wanted me to leave because I didn’t have the credit card I booked the hotel with and I offered to pay the deposit in cash or apple pay and they wouldn’t accept any so I got my girlfriends credit card and they kept denying until they finally agreed to use it, they make everything difficult but the cleaning ladies were very nice and the breakfast options are horrible it’s just a granola with water for $5 and the location is not the best The room was also a bit smelly like cigar even though it was a smoke free room overall rating 1/5 for me

Mithia Mukutmoni

Very unfriendly staff Considered staying in San Jose another night…but not here! The soap was actually unwrapped! I think housekeeping must have missed it I hate to disparage them…but still!I asked for a blanket and something was handed to me, very curtly, that was a sheet-like thing

I just dealt with it Definitely not coming back here again! FYI…restaurant closed shut and never opened Hours did match what was on the door Paid parking…$35 Kind of a spartan feel, but I guess clean?Find something better…you’re worth it!

WhyTigr Lovesya

This place isn’t really worth staying at If you have a vehicle, it costs 35$ to park here, there is no security, it’s outside and subject to the transients who walk around looking in for who knows what purpose (use your imagination) The neighborhood didn’t feel safe late at night and just like typical downtown areas, driving around is very confusing, especially trying to get to this hotel

Trying to get your belongings into your room is also quite a challenge They have one way into the hotel and it is very far away from the parking area, so if you have more than a bag or two, it is a huge hassle The person at the front desk said I could use the employee only hallway to get my stuff from the parking lot, but then I was questioned by another employee and told it was for employees only, which created a bit of a sceneThere also is no online check-in as they use a different computer system than the rest of the Marriott hotels and the wifi was not the usual MarriottBonvoy SSID Is it secure? Probably not even a little bit On the plus side, you can rent scooters everywhere, although not from the hotel itselfTLDR; don’t go here unless you need to be right there downtown Everything is a hassle It is surprising that this is a Marriott property

So willing to help Happy staff and manger Michael were working hard to please us Food was excellent for our conference

Room and bed clean and comfortable AC and heat work beautifully and with a strong fan We needed both due to cool evenings and warm days The airport shuttle guy was friendly and on time Only 8 minutes from the airport!

Shobhit Gupta

Rooms were clean and well maintained and the fitness center had a decent collection of weights (dumbbell up to 50 lbs), 4 cardio machines and some mats and bosu balls Would have loved if they had barbell too but it’s good enough to just get a workout in travel There are vending machines for food and reasonable number of eating options located in walking distance

The only downside is the lack of good breakfast options at the hotel

Staying here was a great experience It was very clean, properly staffed and everyone was helpful and kind during my stay My room and public areas were all very clean

Everything felt newly renovated, and it was easy to feel comfortable while I was there The fitness center was spacious, well equipped and never crowded Both the front desk and shuttle drivers were incredibly kind and helpful with anything I needed If you’re visiting San Jose or any of the surrounding cities, this hotel will exceed your expectations

We stayed for 1 night Rooms are spacious and well designed with comfortable beds Free filtered water

We had to switch rooms because the sliding door of the bathroom didn’t provide us privacy (room 512) I talked to the receptionist and he moved us to 505 and solved our issue immediately Breakfast had the essentials (omelette, juice, sausage, muffins, cinnamon rolls) We also asked for late check out and we had it at 13:00 (11:00am is the checkout normally) Perfect!

Nick Havens

The staff is friendly, especially the female workers They all take good care of your requests Nobody cleans your room unless you make specific requests because of covid

The breakfast made my day! The layout of the hotel is dumb because it’s the longest walk possible between the lobby and parking lot The water does not get hot enough for me The windows don’t open Coffee available in lobby all day and it was good Everything considered it was a very good stay

My rating would be higher if they didn’t have the types of elevators they currently have They assign you an elevator for the floor you choose, which causes lines and back-up They’d broken down two times during our stay and there’s only the one set of elevators to get to other floors

Otherwise, the rooms are clean and the beds comfortable I’d wished they had a microwave or breakfast option, but compaired to other places, we at least had a fridge

Michael Gonzales

Our experience at the Hilton was just ok Normally it is great, but there was construction going on, and some services were limited We were here for 3 days

On two days only 1 of 3 elevators were working The staff was great, but with covid protocols, your room is not cleaned We had to go elsewhere for our meals, which was ok, because we were in a downtown location Our room was great, but hopefully, our overall experience will be better the next time

When we arrived my kids, ages 14, 9 and 6, were excited to end their 3 day vacation in the pool, but after I got in I was freezing There were no signs of closure or needing maintenance I am from Seattle so I can handle cold, but this was painful

My 9 yr old daughter tried and ended up getting out Thankfully no one got sick and we made it home today with no illnessI have been an owner with Marriott for17+ yrs (Gold Elite) and stay at Marriott’s exclusively when available at the destination I understand that it may be difficult to contact all those who are staying at your hotel (reservations list) to let them know that the pool is broken and or closed, but there was no attempt before and after we arrived to let us know We even checked in and went to our rooms not being told My understanding talking to other guests is that the pool has been broken for at least the week they had stayed, but I cannot confirm this If that is true then there would have been time to notify us and others The Marriott App has text messaging and chat available with your guest, but the property or company could not send us a message so we could cancel? Try having 3 kids getting in their swimsuits excited for pool time at the end of our trip only to take a dance with hyperthermia if you went in the pool, no joke I get it first world problems, but this is something we try to provide for our family, happy memories and family time off the electronicsWe looked at other hotels for that night and it came down to if we got a refund we would go somewhere else, but there was no manager to talk to for that decision so we stayed My kids ended up in the room watching a movie (pretty sad)If we would have known that the pool was broken we would not have skipped our day trip to Carmel by the Sea to give the kids more time in the pool This day trip was for my wife’s birthday and she was willing to give that up, so you can understand our disappointment at giving that up and not being told of the broken poolAfter reaching out to the assistance district manager they offered 8,000 points for a 35,000 point stay when we would have never stayed there in the first place due to the pool closure This is 2022 and we should have been notified Loyalty to Marriot has let us down this time Shameful (2 stars) rooms where nice and clean, breakfast was great

This Marriott location actually has two different hotel signature at this location, Residence Inn, and Springhill suites The parking and check in process can be confusing as you cannot go into the secure parking area (in the back of the hotel) without checking in first, but in order to check in, you have to double park in the front of the hotel drop off Parking will set you back about $15

00 per day The hotel is clean and almost looks brand new Lobby and common areas are very clean with staff constantly walking around cleaning and wiping the surfacesThe room itself was decent It has a small light duty kitchen with utensils The surfaces appear clean and the towels smell fresh (still had bleach smell to them)Couple of set backs is the water in the shower was a miss The water temperature and water pressure was not consistent The toilet had a weird flushing mechanism where it would flush, but the tank doesn’t fill back up until a few minutes later The walls here are a bit thin as I could hear my next door neighbor showering and his Zoom meeting The bed was a miss for me; it was way too soft and sunk in

The exterior architecture of this Hyatt Place is different from most It’s a new building Great location right next to the airport

There is a Denny’s restaurant and gas station close by The service was good but there cleaning of the room every 3 days Needs to be changed back to daily Fresh towels daily when staying in a hotel is a necessity Overall good experience, I recommend

My daughter and I stayed in this hotel the night we flew in on a late flight into San Jose Airport It was convenient to drive to this nearby hotel after picking up our rental car We were tired after our long trip, so it was nice to get to stay in a clean and comfortable hotel shortly after arriving

The hotel is very close to the airport The hotel was a reasonable price for what you get, but I definitely don’t understand why they charged for parking You just park in the parking lot outside of the hotel The breakfast was disappointing There were very few options in the breakfast buffet The room was spacious and comfortable though, so for a quick one night stay, this hotel was fine and I would stay here again if I needed to stay near the airport

Called a day in advance to let them know I was arriving at 8am off the plane and was told 24/7 check in Arrived and was told 3pm Shabby breakfast could be better

Clean rooms comfy beds nice bathroom Although pool is very much not heated, tiny, and watched the pool boy clean the dirt, dust, cobwebs, bugs and etc by dipping the cleaning pool back and forth from the pool water to bugs and bugs to pool water Disgusting good for a very short term stay near the airport Shuttle drivers are very nice

#1 spot to stay if you’re in downtown San Jose, especially if you’re attending an event at the SAP CenterA beautiful art deco hotel that’s been thoughtfully updated, with valet parking, an incredible bar/lounge and a restaurant that’s on the verge of its post-pandemic reopeningThe front desk is wonderful about handling requests for extra coffee, bottled waters, and linens in record time

The updates are good, not great, so some of the layout is a little wonky (coffee maker and fridge are across the room from the microwave and sink, toilet paper roll is nearly behind someone actually on the toilet), but the rooms are very clean and comfortableThey’re also using the nespresso single-serve coffee makers, which are awesome (and worth the walk to get water from the sink across the room)The bar/lounge is still lightly staffed as of reopening this week, so plan to visit the bar to get fresh drinksbut the guys are hustling and they’re down for any reasonable requestA+ for the staffB for the suite

Rooms are small but nice, tho the bed was a bit uncomfortableCan’t rate service because they offer almost nothing: no restaurant, so no room service, no pool, no exercise, no self-park — and virtually nowhere to pull over for valet parking ($40/night) Small bar area open until 10 & limited snacks sold at front desk

Location is good for finding dinner, drinks in the neighborhood, but schlepping it for breakfast is a pain Won’t be back until/unless Hilton actually commits to this location
