Great location Beautiful views Not so good stay

When we walked into our room my 10 year old son pointed out all of the fly bugs on the ceiling He opened the wooden curtains and found plenty of them dead and alive in the windowsill I noticed the windows don’t have screens so I opened the window to try and get as many as I could out What actually happened is the just all flew away from that corner and into the rest of the room It’s a beautiful location so I asked the front desk to help and they said they were sorry but they couldn’t help with the fly bugs, they could send maintenance to get as many put but that’s all they could do When we went back into the room, there weren’t any more on the ceiling or window but I noticed there were left dead on the floor At night, before we went to bed, we could see all the little fly bugs flying around, once again front desk said it’s because we are so close to the beach and during this time of the year there were many of them flying around, they asked us to not open our windows (which windows didn’t other than to try and get them out initially) At checkout, I asked for an adjustment since we paid close to $500 for the room and had to sleep with bugs around us (might as well have camped) They said they couldn’t make any adjustments because we booked through a third party, then offered me a bottle of Gatorade for the inconvenience We will not be returning to this hotel and hopefully they invest in some window screens

I was not even able to go! When I called inquiring about their Day Spa packages and left a message, they briefly texted me back later that day saying, “No overnight stays” I clarified that I was not staying overnight and asked them about a massage and steam room package that’s for day use only Well, they never got back to me and it felt very rude! I will just take my business elsewhere

My husband and I spent a week while waiting to close on our home It was a great introduction to the Central Coast Instead of staying in a hotel where we would be confined, we stayed here and used the gym, steam room, pool , jacuzzi watched the beautiful sunset over the ocean and BEST of all had Diana’s massages and treatments

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Pismo at Valentina Suites Our suite, 501 is very comfortable with big rooms and high ceilings The unit is in good condition and nicely updated

I enjoyed the unit tremendously A couple of things that were not great The unit faces the freeway which runs along the properties on the opposite side of the street So we had traffic noise all day and night Also, the glasses, plates and cookware are fine but not on the same level as the physical accommodations of the unit All in all a very nice stay and I would recommend it with some tempered expectations

My family and I stayed at Valentina Suites for two nights and from the moment we arrived we could not have asked for a better experience Valentina is a family owned establishment and the owners could not be more kind, helpful and accommodating I was impressed by their meticulous attention to detail

The love and pride they take in presenting a piece of Pismo Beach history to their guests is clear to see The beautifully designed mission revival architecture lends an old town charm to the place, while the exquisite suites, each named in honor of a notable Pismo Beach resident, provide all the comfort and convenience of a modern hotel The ocean views are beautiful and the patio attached to our suite was the perfect place to listen to the waves crash while also taking in the quaint beauty of the townSitting a mere two blocks from the ocean, guests have easy access to an incredible beach perfect for walking, jogging, sun bathing and just about any form of beach play Valentina Suites is also within walking distance of many delicious and varied food options I could spend a week there just to try all of the food!Whatever might take you to Pismo Beach, CA I am confident that a stay at Valentina Suites will not disappoint!

No staff were ever present We were asked to do their laundry before we left We were also asked to clean the kitchen, and the restroom

Other rooms had screaming patrons at night, and there was no one present to reprimand that behavior The cookwares were malformed, also had poison on them Stains were present across the property Only half the parking was gated The property was beautiful I was impressed with the low water gardening I thought the architecture was nice The inspiring life stories of the locals were great However, a regular hotel suite is clearly superior

If you want a nice hotel on the beach you’re going to pay double the price So set your expectations accordinglyThe rooms are old, basic cable, no streaming apps on the TV, it brings me back to the early 2000s when I used to come here as a kid

Location is amazing, whether you’re trying to go to the beach or downtown Easy access to bothConnected beach is phenomenal whether you’re playing volleyball at one or the many courts, surfing, or making sand castles Super soft nice sandPool can get busy and it’s moderately heated, hot tub is hotThe staff is amazing, they bake cookies all day so you can swing by the office for a free one Plenty of parking, and they’re super dog friendly

S Mayeda

The location is excellent, it’s close to the beach, pier and most restaurants It is within walking distance for everything we wanted to do The room was clean with a decent bed nothing really special and is a little dated but was adequate for what we needed

Free parking and grab and go snack was a plus We didn’t need to drive during our stay

Adventure Now

Customer service is 5/5 but the actual hotel is a 2/5 Hotel is in desperate need of a remodel We paid $323 for a night and that was $223 too much

The location is excellent if your wanting to hang at the beach and be walking distance to town But other than that, the hotel is in need of a renovation All the service staff is super friendly (maids, maintenance and front office)! I just wish the rooms were nicer for the price that we paid Also pretty sure I found a bed bug on my dog Renovate & fumigate the place, then I’ll return Until then it’s a no for me

Lovely little dog friendly hotel/motel in SLO Our first trip here me and my pup The grounds are sweet with a nice porch for lounging on and mountain view

Every morning they had a very substantial continental breakfast with excellent coffee! Breakfast room was decorated with fun art of dogs on the wall In the afternoon if you want to take your wine on the porch they have a few crunchy snacks for accompanying as well as newspapers I was in room 117 which is right in the front I has no issues with street noise but I did have AC on But it was never noisy during the day The room was pristinely clean and serviced every day (don’t forget to tip your room attendants each day you are there!!) Mattress was so good I was interested in finding out the brand of it I called up there and Oscar at the front desk went out of his way to go to the room and take a pic of the mattress tag and text it to me Everyone there was very nice and helpful but had to give Oscar a special shout out for going the extra mile Lastly the price was extremely reasonable for my room and my dog rate I can’t wait to return and next time I will stay longer Thanks so much

The reason I’m giving this only a three is because when you call the their number to book a room, it’s automated Pick one to reserve a room, so that’s what I did, booked my room thinking it was through the hotel, but according to the front desk, I booked through a third party, which I did not do, or at least I didn’t think I was I called their number direct

So I didn’t get tickets to happy hour I know it might not be a big deal, but when you call a business number, it should direct you to this business, not a third party Other than that, most of the employees gave great customer service, they had to come into my room to change the battery in the smoke alarm because it was Chirping every five seconds indicating the battery was low, my sink was plugged The beds are very comfortable, air conditioning works amazing Swimming pool and hot tub was great Rooms are clean The gentleman at the bar after 5 pm was very friendly and has great customer service Breakfast was good

Melissa Tomberlin

This hotel was so great! From the rooms to the pool to the service! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Never have I ever enjoyed a stay at a hotel so much! Our family has stayed here several times over the years The rooms are spacious and well appointed The pool was warm and the spa was the perfect temperature

The included breakfast is as good as any you will get and reminds me of Embassy Suites The grounds are well manicured and well taken care of This property is a good value for this area

For the SLO Wedding Planners holiday party, I had the opportunity to work with SLO Brew Lofts for our annual fundraiser It was so convenient to our guests since we hosted the after party event directly below it at The Carissa and in downtown SLO The rooms were nice and roomy with modern & fun decor

We will definitely be referring all of our clients to reserve for their accommodations when hosting an event!

Tracey Jones

The SLO Brew Lofts is a super FUN place to stay! It has a great atmosphere with modern decor, spacious and inviting! As a local wedding planner, I love recommending this place to my couples for accommodations for their wedding weekend, bachelorette or bachelor weekends, or even just a FUN stay while their in town! A little staycation here would be a dream as well!

Pat Crain

Pros: Central location close to great eats, drinks, and shopping Spacious, comfortable, attractive and well-appointed accommodationsCons: Noise level from the bar/club below the lofts can be intense

I cannot overstate the negative impact of the noise on our stay experience – caveat emptor Parking is a few blocks from the building, which isn’t a big issue unless you’re not able to unload/load due to street closure for events

Hampton Inn has vastly improved in the past 5 years to the point where I am actually impressed lately This one is not impressive Room was newer than my colleagues had on floors 1-2

Staff – super super friendly Unfortunately missed my diamond status and talked me down from an upgrade on day 1, although I had a higher class room for days 2-3 I am sure it was because they missed my status They apologized on day 2 when I said I wanted to keep my room…Not clean Very dusty above 5’4” Floors wet when I several hours after I arrivedFront counter pantry out of stock of everything frozen except burritosAir conditioning couldn’t keep up at all during the 75-85F days Then super cold by morningNumber of Stays: oneRoom: King Suite, first floor, 334June 2022As a frequent business & leisure traveler, I’ve decided to go back through the years and review the properties I stay at most Hilton (Diamond) Marriott (Titanium Elite) This is my first in this effort

The General Manager was amazing Very sweet, friendly and helpful Even when all her staff called in she worked a 12 + hr day and was still very kind

the room was nice, my only complaint is i had a small old TV in the room I was told that the rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors have updated TVs so i recommend those rooms The spa and pool have an AMAZING view specially at sunset!

Jessica Tuck

Location is convenient and breakfast and breakfast staff were wonderful However, upon checking in we were not notified that the carpets were scheduled to be cleaned We came back to our room with our luggage and things thrown all over the beds

The carpet was so wet it sloshed when we walked and we had to soak it up with towels We brought our stuff out to the car before even going to sleep because we didn’t want it to get soaked being on the floor The air conditioner made terrible noises and kept us up all night We brought this to the attention of the staff and they just shrugged and kept doing what they were doing

We got an extra large king room for the extra floor space, as we have a blind Golden Retriever He was very comfortable finding his way around without being too confined That was very important to us, and not easy to find

But overall we were very happy with the room, breakfast, swimming pool, and a grassy area to walk the dog Service was very friendly and helpful Location was perfect for venturing in any direction

Stayed here while visiting Morro Bay and Avila Beach Very conveniently located to both I stay at HIE’s regularly and the room rate was much higher than usual for a HIE, however it may have been graduation weekend for the university since it was difficult locating a room anywhere in the area Enjoyed my stay and room and bed were very comfortable Breakfast was delicious and the cinnamon rolls spectacular

A little farther away from the main town, but not without its perks! I booked this trip as a more budget friendly option that included similar amenities at other higher end hotels The staff here were super friendly and the rooms were extremely clean! The cottage style vibe was really nice overlooking the ocean! This place also has fire pits outside that allow you to relax in the later afternoon This place is also next to a cliff, which allows you a better view of the entire ocean and for some amazing sunsets! However, one thing I did notice is there can be a lack of privacy in the ocean view rooms

Although not a major issue, it was an affordable option with an ocean view that made for an excellent trip This hotel although a short ways away, is still near the main town and it is not difficult to walk if your in for a little morning exercise! Love Pismo area and I would highly recommend the cottage inn if your on a budget looking for a clean and friendly atmosphere!

The room was a very nice size, clean The bed was very comfortable, the towels were fluffy, the amenities were very nice with lavender lotion, mint shampoo, etc The room was equipped with a microwave, which is very useful

There was also a lovely fireplace in the room to keep you warmThe view of the sea from the inn was perfect There happened to be pods of dolphins in the sea in front of the inn We could see them flipping and jumping I wish I could’ve stayed more than one nightThe only things I would add for the room are slippers and kettle for non-coffee drinkers

Lily Baldwin

I loved this hotel The staff were very kind and helpful The location was perfect

It is about half a mile walk on the beach (or street) to the pier so quiet and very easy beach access without the crazy traffic I thought it had the best patio amenities compared to the other hotels lined next to it, with easy to light gas camp fires and fantastic views The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that my room needed updating – the bathroom and beds were clean but tired We fully intend to go back and hope they bring the room up to date sooner rather than later, especially for the price

Absolutely love this place! This hotel is perfect for self-sufficient travelers There’s no front desk–they just text you codes for the front door and your room I never expected how nice it would be after a long drive to just go straight to my room, rather than dealing with check-in

Beyond that, the place is gorgeous My room was spacious with excellent bedding and a fabulous shower & toiletries There’s a shared living room area that was very cozy We spent mornings sitting on the couch drinking coffee and listening to records What a great way to start the day! There’s also a nice shared wet bar area that has excellent coffee, very fancy teas, a bottle of complimentary wine, as well as some additional treats that popped up now and then What a great home base for our trip to SLO!

Came to SLO for my wife’s birthday and couldn’t have been happier with our decision to stay at The Butler Hotel This was a new type of stay for us as there is no front desk, however once we walked in we immediately understood that this property was special and didn’t require one They email and text you the code to the front fore and the code to your room

Upon walking in we were shocked at how nice everything looked and the attention to detail with the design There was a bottle of wine and local treats on the bar, and cute little reading/sitting area, and the interior design was amazingAs for the room, we loved the tall ceilings, lighting, and bathroom design Everything just seemed to flow wellI would definitely recommend this place!

There’s a reason this place gets almost all 5 star reviews- it’s honestly perfect If there was a rooftop pool I’d want to move inIt’s definitely different

If you love the experience of staying at a hotel, this might not be for you If you want the feel of an AirBnB with the hotel touches, this is the place If you like great design, thoughtful touches but don’t want to interact with people, this is the placeThere is a contactless check-in, you simply punch in your special code The bar area is set up with complimentary wine in the afternoon and a nice continental breakfast spread in the morning (little Danishes that tasted so fresh, muffins, fruit, etc) There is a lounge area with beautiful seating, a record player with great albumsWe stayed in Room 4 and the bed was so comfortable The bathroom was clean and spacious Every detail is well thought outThe main area was a bit warm during the day with a large fan running, but our room was perfectly ACedWe took advantage of the bikes and cruised around the downtown area, all the way to Madonna Inn and to the SLOMA We also sat outside in the morning with our coffees, which you can prepare with the french presses set up in the kitchenI don’t have plans to be in SLO again, but if I did, I would 100% stay here againKelly was The Butler and so helpful with any questions we had Thanks Kelly!

The Cliffs is extraordinary! A staycation within its premises We stayed in a beautiful king suite room, well polished and very clean Upon arrival you are greeted with free valet service and free welcome wine glass

Outside in the courtyard is a decent size pool and beautiful views from atop the bluffs overlooking the Pacific To the right there are stairs that lead you to a public but very secluded beach Hotel staff is more than accommodating and had a very relaxing stay My wife took advantage of the day spa located on the first floor Would stay again!

Love and Peace

We had a wonderful short gateway on 4th of July weekend at the Cliffs Hotel and Spa Everything was simply perfect from the gorgeous ocean view from our balcony to tiny but precious details such as rubber duck for the bathtub enjoyment The staff was very friendly and helpful

Literally every member of the Cliffs team went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as it can be We did not spend time on the pool but instead we enjoyed the gorgeous beach with a breath taking view, which located down the steps The hotel has a Marisol restaurant where we dined in for 3 evenings We love the view, the service and the menu As vegan, I am never sure if I would be eating anything exciting when I go to a new place Marisol met my expectations ! We highly recommend The Cliffs Hotel and Spa – we had great time staying there and we will be coming back for sure

Everything about our long weekend stay at the Cliffs Resort and Spa exceeded our expectations! Beautifully appointed and spacious room, lovely pool and jacuzzi, incredible ocean views, walking trails to small beaches, an oceanfront lawn with entertainment and plenty of chairs and tables to relax in! Our afternoon at the spa was delightful! My esthetician was so accommodating at my every request and made me feel and look amazing My daughter’s massage was the best she ever had Dinner at the restaurant was scrumptious, front desk staff and valet were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this beautiful property for your next stay in Pismo!

We stayed here as part of a US road trip and safe to say it was potentially our favourite place to stay (and that included a stay in the MGM Signature in Vegas!) Our room was super clean, very spacious and had everything we needed Hot tub on the balcony was a great touch

Free underground parking was useful and the location right on the beach was greatThe staff were also fantastic! They took a genuine interest in my wife and I, taking time to ask about our accents and home country while also giving recommendations of what to see around the areaThey also offered us beach towels and beach chairs which was really appreciated when you’re not a local/couldn’t pack those things in our suitcases!Overall an absolutely fantastic stay and we would not hesitate returning!

Booked last minute and was blown away by my experience! The staff were genuinely pleasant, very responsive, and incredibly accommodating – Fiona and Ashley (not sure if that’s her first name, but I know her last name was Johnson) in particular! The room was immaculate, the view and location were OUTSTANDING, and the spa on the balcony was the perfect and luxurious cherry on top! I will definitely be staying here again!

My wife wanted to take a short trip with one night off and I found this gem of a place online I had no idea how enjoyable our stay would be It is a beautiful place in a nice setting and a cozy little town

We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay an extra night The facility is very well kept, very clean, nice little pool and jacuzzi, a good breakfast, and nice staff The front desk people were very nice I saw four of them in two days Arik was a fantastic guy and we had a very enjoyable conversation There was one younger man, however, that was not the most friendly and pleasant I hope the owner will speak with himThe hotel has a beautiful walkway for a nice walk and to clear your mind Balcony was lovely and the neighborhood is family area and peacefulWe’re coming back!

Jessica Daem

It was a beautiful room, comparable to some of the vineyard hotel rooms I’ve seen, though slightly scuffed up here and there, but without a microscope it was great for the off-season locals price There is a trend I’ve noticed among the hotels that are trying to seem nicer and that is that the pools are tiny and shallow But all together it had a really nice vibe

Perfect if you’re visiting and wanting to hang out in the village

Tyler Moskowite

The service at the front desk was amazing Their staff is very friendly and helpful The room was exactly what you would expect, and had all the hotel amenities

The breakfast served in the morning was fresh, and there was a great selection Parking at this location isn’t too bad, although it’s partially shared with the bar It’s in a great location in downtown AG
