Please read entire review, this establishment is in the second half of review Wish I could give 0 starsWe stayed July 4th, 2021 weekend for the car meet/auction

The first hotel, starting at the Baymont by Wyndham Auburn, our first set of rooms, oh boy where to even begin? The first room wasn’t cleaned after the prior guests, from the unkept bedding and linens, filled trash cans, unflushed toilet & bathroom visibly had been used with steam on the mirror, wet shower/tub, we requested a different room Second room, somewhat clean but had a lingering pungent smell and black mold on the headboard wall closest to the window, in addition to molding & ceiling that showed visible water damage We travel for business and unfortunately my dog sitter passed away a few years ago, so dog friendly hotels are limited, especially in small towns We decided to leave and try our luck elsewhereThe second hotel, Days Inn by Wyndham Auburn yes, Wyndham also, same management and appears staff too We were tired from traveling and at this point, wanted to rest The hotel elevator shared the same pungent odor the previous hotel’s bathroom had, but our room didn’t have mold, didn’t appear anyone had stay the night before, we ran over to Walmart for throw-away sheets & stayed for one night That Friday night, we heard gunshots, witnessed non hotel patrons entering the hotel and using the facilities, including the pool, there were police at one point in the early morning hours because the sirens us woke up We were supposed to stay two nights, but packed up Saturday afternoon and left after our business event Under normal circumstances, I would leave my two small dogs at the hotel during an event or while I exercise, however, we packed up everything and left, there was no way we were leaving anything behind unattended Would not recommend either location until they are cleaned up, staff is retrained or replaced and a complete overhaul of operations

The hotel staff was courteous and friendly and our room was very clean and spacious! We were here for business but we definitely felt like we were on vacation in this beautiful hotel We haven’t gotten to try breakfast yet but I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty good- fingers crossed!Honestly the only complaint I have thus far is that there wasn’t any utensils to use after I cooked a to go mac n cheese in the microwave and I’m sure if I asked I could’ve received those and additional Keurig coffee pods – we only had 2 and one was decaf- but it her than that we are very pleased with our stay thus far We are about to go enjoy this pool that looks so relaxing! Thanks for making us decide to stay not one night but two! 🙂

Everyone was very friendly, we took advantage of the pool with a handicap lift We actually chose this place because they had it Great for the Disabled vets

Exactly what we needed Such a blessing to be able to find assistance for my brother The pool is indoors and heated And there are many other features that are accommodating also personel are amazingly helpful

Katrina Archer

On the outside it looks dingy I was suprised, it was nicer than I thought inside Staff were very friendly

Everything was clean The 3rd floor smelled horrible There was a huge gap in our door so the hallway was loud The pool was warm and clean The beds are amazingly comfortable and soft and smelled clean There were chunks out of our carpet which was weird An amazing buffet right down the way And a kroger also! All in all I would stay here again

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff Pretty quiet overall and the pool was barely used so we had it all to our selves (my kids’ main draw) Breakfast had plenty of hot or cold options for a 2-star hotel

Simple layout, easy parking, vinyl hard floors (clean), and kind staff would bring us back again Pool table and cozy seating areas were a nice perk too My only complaint is that the fridge was pretty noisy in the night, I had to use it otherwise I would have unplugged

Melissa Bubash

Rooms were clean and modern Bed was comfortable but pillows were pancakes and the king only came with 3 pillows The rooms can be a bit loud (other rooms and hallway echos) since it’s not carpeted and there’s nothing to absorb sound

Also, even with the thermostat at 66 overnight the room would get quite warm in-between cycles of the unit Other than that, everything was nice The gym was adequate for a quick run, breakfast was decent, and all of the staff were extremely friendly I appreciate some of their modern amenities like a place to refill large waterbottles and freshly brewed coffee in the lobby 24 hours a day I would return despite some minor concerns noted with the room above

Solane Jenks

We enjoy staying at Tru by Hilton when we are in town for basketball We stayed again over the weekend and it was a pleasant stay as usual We love the lobby area, the rooms and the staff! There is a nice open area to hang out in the lobby so it works well when we have other basketball parents staying too

There is cube seating in the far corner with a pool table then multiple other areas to sit and hang out or you can sit individually too with little work stations We didn’t get a chance to use the pool or fitness room this time but it’s a nice option for those who have time We really like the breakfast that is offered by the hotel, this is a nice bonus due to the variety I knew they had some gluten free options sitting out last year so I asked and the guy working the front desk brought me out a couple Udi’s bagels individually wrapped I was able to get some eggs and sausage to put on the bagel from their breakfast barWe checked out early for our game but came back after to relax and chat in the lobby and the hotel was very friendly We will continue to choose Tru by Hilton when we are back in Fort Wayne!

The course was very goodAt most courses the lawn is mowed early not late afternoon so at times we were battling the lawn mower at several holesThe biggest downside was the carts themselves as on two holes we actually had to get out and push because it didn’t have much juice

Signage for where holes are could be improved

I had a great experience at this Hampton I am only giving it 4 stars because of the highway noise my first night there The staff was very nice and did move me to the other side of the building

It was very clean and my room was quite spacious I give the service and location 5 stars but I do feel for everyone who stays on the side of the building close to the interstate! Thanks for a great vacay getaway!

Mike Scott

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have stayed here for business As always, the staff was very friendly and professional The hot breakfast in the morning is very good

On the downside, this hotel definitely needs a remodel as the rooms and common areas show their age and wear The noise from I-69 is deafening if you are outside and if you have a room on the interstate side of the hotel, the noise in the rooms is aggravating I used a fan to create enough white noise that I could sleepI gave a 3 star review instead of a 2 star because I believe the staff were superb They have no control over the noise and the remodel

Jen Grice

Overall a great stay Only real complaint was we did NOT have a microwave in our king room!! The noise coming from the hallway from kids running up and down the halls while talking loudly was annoying but it was quiet at night The king size bed was comfortable but I brought my own pillow so not sure how the pillows were

The breakfast was okay but the same both days I would have liked some other option but we went out for breakfast/brunch the second day so it was fine We didn’t use the pool but it looked like all those kids were having fun in there Nice place for a couple’s weekend gateway if you don’t mind kids running the halls all day long

my husband and I traveled here from Wisconsin to spend Memorial Day weekend with our family, and now I really wish we would have just slept in the car the experience would have been better – and CLEANER – than the three days spent hereto start off with, our second night in the hotel room, we flipped the comforter over that we had slept under the night before and found a huge yellow stain

it smelled a little like urine, so I’m 90% sure they hadn’t washed the linens before we got to the roomwhen I went to talk with the front desk, they tried to say we had done it (I’m sorry, I’m not peeing on a blanket for the hope of a comp???) and then finally agreed to give us 15% off for one night whatever, thats fine, it was gross and it was over withthen we noticed the curtains, which had a dark, rusty colored stain on it there were cobwebs on the ceiling that I originally didn’t care about, but after finding all of this, it became a *thing*the beds were hard, the motel was noisy, and I was SO happy to check out on Monday morningfast forward to today, where instead of comping that 15%, they’re CHARGING US ANOTHER $200 When my husband called, they couldn’t say why and couldn’t reverse itthe entire fiasco is so ridiculous, and I have never interacted with a company that didn’t know what it was doing as much as this comfort suites I implore you, go find somewhere else to stay if you want to see the pictures I took of the stains, I grabbed some as evidence and I’m more than willing to show youdon’t stay here a public restroom is cleaner, and they’ll charge you double without telling you why

Just Me

Here for work and had been staying at the baymont After my stay there was over I asked my boss for another hotel Anything OTHER than baymont

He pleasantly surprised me by booking me this hotel instead It’s by far the nicest place I have stayed at in Indiana Its no ritz Carlton but its clean, the staff is friendly, the rooms are spacious They even have a door card to request clean linen and whatnot The rooms are tech savy as well There is even a reading light attached to the lamp

Shane Mcdaniel

My stay was ok I stayed 9 days in this room House keeping only changes the linens every 3 days

The day after I left I had a 25000 fee added When I asked what it was for they said it’s a cleaning fee for smoking in the room I told them I never smoked in the room The guy told me I was a lair And continued to argue with me about it Told him the next time I was in that town I would come by for a face to face So user beware this location is hard up for money Double check your bills Holliday inn express is brand new just a mile up the road

Wonderful staff esp Trish the breakfast lady She’s busy keeping the eggs, sausage, yogurts, coffee, juices & other items fully stocked plus right on it cleaning tables, emptying trash & smiling all the time The rooms are clean & comfy

I just wish the bathrooms had grab bars I’d think it would be a cheap liability fix to slippery tubs & worth the little investment to install I love this hotel The pool looked wonderful even tho we didn’t have time to use it There’s even a place to purchase frozen microwave meals, & even beer & wine for your room Thank you for a great end to our big road trip

Daranee Elkins

Very nice and very clean Great location, close to just about everything Everyone was pleasant, nice and helpful

Second day my key card stopped working It wasn’t as easy as a few computer clicks, they had done some upgrade with their door system, there were some kinks They let me in my room and brought me new key cards that worked, the whole time apologizing Breakfast was perfect, the lady that takes care of Breakfast area was absolutely wonderful It was a very nice stay

Jennifer Miller

The lady who worked night shift was very very very very rude not only to me but other guest Love the hotel but will not be back because of this employee We stayed 2 nights and she was on duty the 2nd night and next morning and was still rude

She threatened to have families removed from premises Also had her kids in there and was taking care of them warming up food for them Didn’t know kids were able to be at work with there parent at night unless it was an emergency Just very sad with today’s world that you try to give hotels business and the employees chase guest off

The management and staff are very friendly, helpful and make you feel at home My room is very clean and comfortable I enjoyed my stay and have returned

I am making it my home away from home while working here in Fort Wayne The fitness room has just what I like The location to shopping and restaurants is great and close to sightseeing as, well

R “Shroomer” Werner

Nice hotel with nice inside pool Our fridge was not working and they promptly replaced it for us We enjoyed our stay here July of 2022

Only offered cold breakfast, 6 AM to 10AM, cereal, milk, coffee, fruits and yogurt, bread for toastIce and vending machine is on upper level only, can use stairs or elevatorLaundry on lower level

Ryan Garner

For a “smoke-free room” it becomes very smokey when the air conditioner or fan was turned on, which by the way worked amazingly for cooling the room but it smelled of smoke like no one ever changed the filter no one ever shampooed the floor no one ever repainted or wash the walls even in the bathroom there’s no carpet the bathroom smell the smoke it was very gross and very damp feeling in the hallway like no air conditioning at all But the hotel did take little dogs which was nice But on the second night at the hotel my duvet cover had a huge hole in it and I thought that was really tacky the bed was very uncomfortable and even though it’s a new mattress it had a huge sag on the side which I had to sleep almost upside down to get comfortable the shower whenever you turned it on made this loud siren like noise like a screech constantly it was very uncomfortable

And a half star is truly my rating, will never say there again I still can’t believe that this Baymont is part of the Wyndham family of hotels

Nice big room (King bed) Clean Very friendly staff

Quiet Pet friendly My dog picked up on some urine left behind in the corridors but the hotel had absolutely NO bad odors We will most definitely stay there again on our next trip to INIf you stay here, you have to get dinner from Applebee’s next door Amazingly tender steaks

Susan Bledsoe

Blair was excellent at greeting me when I arrived late at night And she was still smiling and helpful during breakfast as she took care of the breakfast and worked the front desk simultaneously! She provided excellent customer service Room was clean

They were obviously renovating the elevator, but that was a minal inconvenience I would stay again

Carolyn Rozmarynowski

We chose this hotel because it was pet friendly and the Airbnb that we stay at in Kendallville was not availableWhen I called the hotel directly, I said (4 times) that we needed a pet friendly room When I checked in? Not in the notes, but the young woman who checked is in said it was no big deal

* Breakfast was good* The coffee is great* Breakfast staff was very nice* The air conditioning works well* Walls are thick enough that you can’t hear your neighbors* Finishes were updated (tile in bathrooms, new carpeting throughout)* There’s a nice wide, paved walking trail across the highwayOther things to note:It’s an older building, but I knew that from reading other reviewsRain interrupted tv signal off and on for over an hour

I booked online and prepaid to get the best deal We were in town for an event in the area and this hotel was recommended and suppose to have a discount rate We received a call on our way that we were getting upgraded to a long suite because the 2 queen bed rooms were over booked

We understood When we got there, our room wasn’t ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned even though it was after the check in timeWhen we finally to our room, It was dirty and service was slow We also never had our room cleaned when we were there for two nights We will not be staying here again

Brittany Durchholz

Me and my family walked in and were greeted instantly by two very friendly ladies They were prompt and the whole check in process only took about five minutes We headed to our room on the 2nd floor

The elevator had a weird smell and the carpet was absolutely filthy It needed to be professionally cleaned or actually just replaced There were dirty handprints and liquids dried to the walls of the elevator We got to our room and it was clean, trash was empty and all linens looked fresh The beds were comfortable as well as pillows The pool area was a decent size and it as well as the hot tub looked clean However, there were wet and used towels left all around the hot tub area and in the chairs Also the vents needed cleaning You could see black dust built up We were there for about 10 minutes and a group of about 10 teenagers ran us out There was at one point about 30 people in the pool area Too many There was a big group of kids and teenagers there the evening we went Which is obviously fine, it’s a hotel My issue is they were running up and down the hall most of the night, doors slamming and that meant zero sleep I feel like when we checked in that they knew a bunch of kids were on the 2nd floor so I would have appreciated if they would have put us on a different floor They did have a great breakfast bar Anything from waffles, eggs and sausage, cereal, bagels, juices and much more I have stayed at and loved almost every Hampton Inn but this one I was not impressed with and not happy that I paid $17000 to not even be able to sleep

Susan B

DO NOT STAY HERE! I was here 2 weeks for training and the hotel is GROSS!I have been asking for the room to be cleaned for almost a week The first 2 requests they ignored and then FINALLY the 3rd request they ‘clean’ the room But really cleaning is just leaving towels and emptying the trash

They did no cleaning and didnt even change the sheetsEverything about this place is just bad!!!! My experience here sucked all the happiness I felt getting a new job and starting trainingPlease save yourself the headache and stress DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL YOU HAVE BEEN WORKEDTake a look at the ‘clean’ sheets 🤮🤮🤮🤮
