The hotel should have MAJOR renovations or be condemned I took pictures of mold, disgusting bathroom and more Person checking me in was less than friendly

I filed a report with Wyndham customerservice, but have not heard back I could provide pictures, but no option to $118 Ridiculous! Also, absolutely no breakfast provided, not even a cold one😡

I’ve been to this hotel many times just to use the water park but this time decided to stay the night The room was immaculate, not a spot of dust or dirt to be found Staff were super friendly and helpful ( can’t say the same for the children that work the water park area ) but the staff who clean and worked the hotel were amazing

The water park is fun for all ages but do not expect the youngsters that work it to help or give guidance in any way

Jesse A

I’ve been going to this waterpark for years I get that the pandemic has hampered hiring, but it’s pathetic that they can’t do a load of towels in 6 hours Why not issue one towel to each guest as they enter and make their wristband? Rules are super lax unless you accidentally take a tube out of the lazy river

Chemicals are through the roof in the hottub Most likely due to the large number of kids allowed in by disrespectful parents and lack of staff Apparently you’re allowed to bring in giant tumblers of “mommy’s water” to avoid buying really reasonable drinks at the awesome concession stand I used to go once a year for the kids birthday parties but will avoid for the foreseeable future

Haven Otten

It had clean rooms, but the thing that really got me was that the walls were so thin You could hear when anybody walked in the halls, and I could hear the people from the room next to us Also in the pool area, it was super hard to get a floaty especially the singular ones

So I was unable to go down the certain slide that required a similar floaty I wish I could have had a double floaty to go down it But overall it was fun will do again!

Run down, when booked I had asked for handicap accessible, no I would need to go up a flight of stairs 10 pm

at night, she said I should find another hotel Children(12ish) that were vacuuming, with the electrical cord strung across the hallway I wouldn’t have stayed there She said she wouldn’t charge me, I asked for it in writing She tore off a little piece of paper(no letterhead), it says “no charge,” no name, no $ amount, not my name If I get charge I will report her to my credit card company

joshua grubich

called a few days in advance to see if hot tub and pool was operational, upon answer the front desk lady said “yup everything is working” Upon check in we see a sign that says hot tub down for maintenance I asked about it and she said it was working, but it was luke warm water

We took a leap and decided to say screw it and book anyway When walking up to our room (no elevator to 2nd floor) not handicap accessible unless asking for main floor, we smelled smoke, when entering the room it was smoke filled musty smell, the wife and I being smokers really didn’t bother us but we smoke outside our dwellings TV was small, breakfast amenities fell way short with 2 kinds of cold cereal, oatmeal cream pies, and coffee We paid cash upon booking, paid in full, checked out and come to find out I was charged on my card as well as the cash that was taken from us for booking Needless to say worst hotel / motel experience ever I suggest everyone stay away from this place even though its cheap, pay a few extra bucks and go down the road or to a different hotel Filled with druggies, and not safe for children PLEASE DONT STAY HERE!

My lovely bride is a paraplegic and requires a room with a roll-in shower We needed to be in St Cloud and this was closest hotel with an available roll-in

Three issues anyone confined to a wheelchair should consider when pondering this location:(a) Beds are six inches lower than wheelchair height and very soft Makes it a huge challenge to scoot into position in bed and near impossible to get back out, even with someone to help(b) Bathroom door swings out with hinges on left – to get into bathroom, chair has to be crammed into a corner by main room door & somehow bathroom door then opened from behind (there is less than an inch of clearance Door should have hinged on right and swung out(c) Shower does have a hand held wand, however to switch from shower head to wand, takes moving a lever nearly six feet off floor Epic failureDon’t bother with the breakfast – scrambled eggs were from a bag and grainy Link sausages looked as if they had been boiled Room quality was barely a step above Super Ate and colors are dated We had requested our room to be made up each day and were told they will not do that Seemingly, should get a lower rate if room will not be servicedEven though we had paid for two nights, we left after one, it was not worth the hassle

Tony Olson

One of the staff was super sweet, the other was very rude to the staff that was helping us While I was trying to get my ID out the staff member helping us was informing the other staff about an issue another customer was having when her reservation wasn’t cancelled despite that customer trying to call and cancel it, she felt the customer needed a refund The other staff member was rude and degrading towards her and said that, that wouldn’t have happened so the customer will have to pay

Unbelievable! We have to come to monticello area every year and will never stay there again The pool needs major updating, it’s filthy, humid and has mold growing everywhere There were many things broken in our room More people would be happy to stay with some upgrades to these areas The kids loved waffles for breakfast!

The hotel has good vibes The staff who work there help create an environment that may not appear to be great, but w an open mind and a curious perception, the continental breakfast can be a farewell token of respect, learning the shower system leads to creative adaptation I liked this super 8

It was different in the way they handle their lodging for the weary traveler or the curious tourist

Rob Davidson

Stayed here twice in the same month Great experience on both occasions Scott at the front desk was very attentive and helpful

We had a hardware issue with TV in our room and he found a part and fixed immediately Clean and welcoming Recently updated Will stay there again Bonus – has a Denny’s right next door to which the hotel gave us discount coupons

The hotel was nice Beds are hard but that appears to be the norm for all hotels so I was surprised We got the king size bed suite with the whirlpool

The room was enormous! I mean you could easily place 6 kind size beds in the room with plenty of space to move around The room came with what appeared to be a pullout couch, desk/small table, mini fridge, microwave and a couple of sinks The only downside was the position of the whirlpool It made it hard to get in and out of it Otherwise we will certainly get a room like this in the future

Kymn Davis

Grabbed a room for 1 night Exterior looked great, lobby was clean and impressive Hallways where a bit dated and gave a “Shining” feeling

Room was smelly, like the stink of a previous smoking room turned non-smoking room recently Bed was hard as a rock, pillows are the kind of down where your head instantly sinks to the bottom Room view included that of a wasps nest Would NOT be staying here again Not worth the $150+ price tag Room is more styled of a $60-70 hotel

Zebulen Dickey

The overall experience at this location was okay The sofa couch in the room was very dirty It had multiple stains and was very dusty

The breakfast was less than desirable The eggs were runny and had lot of was in the bottom of the pan and the sausage patties were dry Being there are so many other Hilton family hotels in the area, I will not be returning to this location

I was told when I booked a block of rooms that I wouldn’t have to give a guess of estimated room rentals We were told that it would be “first come first serve” I was very disappointed to learn that my block was capped at 15 rooms

I was expecting many out of town guests of my 250 wedding guests I had to reach out to other hotels in a different area to accommodate more guests and therefore increase shuttle services Knowing my block was capped at 15 rooms would have been helpful to know at the time of booking so I could plan accordingly My room also smelled like smoke It was in the pillows and bed… gross

Matthew Zeimer

TLDR if you don’t HAVE to stay in Elk River, stay somewhere elseWe made it through the night but this is the second worst hotel I’ve stayed at I’m not a neat freak but the room was obviously dirty, without really looking, hairs on the walls and shower curtain, gunk and dirt on the desk chair, the bed was awful, and there was a lot of room noise through the wall

It was also generally a very dingey place, particularly for the price Finally, we went for breakfast and it looked really minimal and mediocre, the only thing we wanted was a glass of water because the room sink was kind of gross, and the water in the juice machine was broken, no bottled water available Unreal

Kerry Ruyak

We came down for a funeral and usually stay in Maple Grove but it was booked up due to a sports tournament so we opted to go North to Elk River, have had good luck with Country Inn and Suites in the past We were happy they gave us a “funeral rate” which was still WAY TOO MUCH for the room we received We reserverd the family suite

When we got there the room was too warm, air conditioner unit was in the back bedroom and would only go as low as 68 which didn’t ever get cool enough The air in the bedroom was ok, but it didn’t reach the rest of the living room where the bunk beds were There was a ceiling fan that whacks kids heads on the bunk bed so we couldn’t use it, would get hit while climbing ladder too There was a fan on the wall between the bedroom and living room but it didn’t work and there was no switch for it Could hardly sleep due to hot, stuffy air TV didn’t work AT ALL, cable was unplugged (so this was an issue with previous guest), worked on it for about 45 minutes trying to trouble shoot it myself, front desk just said, “sorry about that, we don’t have maintainance here” No replacement TV The bathroom was outdated and the sink and tub hardly drained so water filled up in both Sink water blasted out so hard it splattered all over and there was no bathroom fan Went to pool, no towels-we had to ask and they did bring a small pile of towels, but no basket or shelf for them even, they put them on a chair and walked away Needless to say, we will not be staying here again and will not ever stay at another Country Inn and Suites due to this experience In the morning while checking out the gal at the desk asked me how my stay was and I told her all of that and she just said, oh, I’m sorry to hear that Didn’t offer a discount or a credit towards another stay, nothing When we are on a getaway we like to watch tv late and was shocked they didn’t have a spare ALSO, when I told the girl about the fan not working in between rooms she didn’t even know what I was talking about, said she had never been in the family suites before so wasn’t familiar with that I DO NOT recommend staying here Go to Maple Grove or Plymouth, anywhere but here

I stayed here for a work related workshop and wouldn’t recommend itPro

it was close to where I needed to be and the front desk lady was nice They did have a limited complementary breakfast coffee, juice, bagels, pkg sweet roles, and tow kinds of cereal, coffee and tea The room did have a really cold fridgeCon when I arrived, there was a undesirable, nasty smell in the entrance Once inside, the entire place smell horrible loke a combination of nasty, Pine-Sol, and incenseI reserved a non-smoking room and when I walked into the room, there was a definite smell of cigarette, pone-sol, and the weird smell The window was open I imagine to try and air it out No toilet paper on the spool only an ender of one sheet The tub side was full of soap scum and the windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out with the sun glareThere was even a partially used bottle of shampoo by the sink with over spill YuckThe lady at the desk said I could go in the back entrance and it was not locked I could see why even though it had the security swipe, there wasn’t any lock in the door to speak of Anyone off the street could walk in at anytimeThe walls are not very sound proof and I heard everything The room above me had their tv on till the morning and it sounded like walking on bubble wrap when they walked around Tons of highway noise and trains all night The bed was old and the pillows were older and flat Lots of lumps under the carpet too The tv channels weren’t what the guide showed was airing The time was almost two hours off from what my watch saidGuess ya get what you pay for and it was the only hotel close to where the workshop class was being heldI’m sure in its day, it was a very nice place, but its more like a long-term low cost place to live as they had those prices on the room doorIt took me all of the next day to get that smell out of my system, nose and sinuses The headache it caused took the next day to go awaySo, if you must, you can stay, but use all the locks and jam a chair

Hallways filled with dirty wet towels, sheets and other things laying around Pool was broken the whole 6 days we were there Very disappointing

We were charged more than our quote said, and manager was very unhelpful and rude Reception desk was always empty and had to wait very long amounts of time ringing there phone to get any help Leaky showers, causing bathrooms to flood every time when used We wished it was a better stay, but unfortunately it was not Would not suggest staying here, unless you want your stays cost to change and an unsanitary environment

Benjamin Dale

Overall, recommended Clean, friendly, quiet, pool, central location, great prices… Hits all the marks And the only hotel in Waconia (that I know of) so thankfully it’s a good one

Would’ve given five stars except NewsMax is regularly playing in the Lobby Hopefully they can make their hotel great again and figure that foolish problem out

Hotel room is huge! Nice warm pool and huge hot tub! Adults only in pool from 10pm-12am! I’ve never heard of a pool being open so late! There is a secret passage way to a bar/restaurant off the second floor There are arcade games, pool, darts, ax throwing (to come), and a bowling alley! Couldn’t ask for much more to keep the teens entertained

chelsey carroll

We stayed there last Saturday for my daughters birthday When we arrived we were told the water slide was out of order ( one of the reasons we decided to stay there) Then we tried to go bowling and there was bowling tournaments going on all day

So we decided to go to the arcade and eat dinner No food available and only a few games worked I booked this stay in advance and was never sent an email or anything stating these issues It was really fun having to disappoint a group of kids that were looking forward to the things that the hotel was said to offer Please update your website to show accurate accommodations

Krystal Tranby

We really enjoyed our stay while here for Back to the Fifties The reason I give 2 stars for service has nothing to do with the staff All staff was friendly but they no longer clean the rooms which is apparently because of COVID but this means you have to go to the front desk for garbage bags, clean towels etc

Also the waterslide was out of order while we were there but they do have that stated clearly on the website The attached restaurant had good food but was dealing with staffing issues Several members of our party enjoyed the bowling alley one evening It was reasonably priced and they could bowl all they wanted until 10:00PM We will try them again for Btt50s next year and I will update my review at that time!

This hotel was nice and clean throughout That goes for the room we stayed in friendly staff

Breakfast was good and had plenty to choose from Pool area was clean and spacious The public restroom in the lobby was nice and clean also The reason I didn’t rate it a five star was because we were not impressed by how beat up our room door looked It may not sound like a big deal but first impression is everything and it just made the hotel look a little tacky Overall it was a good experience

Brenda Wahl

We stayed at The Hampton in Roger, MN and Robert is an amazing asset to this company! He went above and beyond from getting us a room with a great rate to bringing towels within minutes of requesting them! Always smiling and accommodating! He is a valuable employee for your establishment! All because of him, we will stay here again and again when we visit MN!

If there were zero stars, that would be more appropriate In March, we reserved 10 rooms for our state meet in June We confirmed the week prior with our group reservation sales rep and moved the reservation to our athletic director’s card

When we arrived, they didn’t have rooms for us Every hotel was booked that weekend and our kids, who worked extremely hard to qualify for the state meet, had to wait for hours until we finally found a hotel in Plymouth (The Crown Plaza was AMAZING, btw!) The management did not help us find a place after they lost our reservation and we never got an explanation for what happened We were in a terrible situation and didn’t feel like the hotel helped us find a solution, nor did they offer us anything for their mistake Our kids deserved so much better than that!

Five stars for amazing serviceWe were in town for a funeral and they went above and beyond to make sure our family had a smooth trip They found fun things for the kids, facilitated extra pool and family connection and every time we spoke with them, they were incredibly friendly and helpful

The rooms were good (comfy beds, good pillows, decent room renovations, and it looks like bathroom renovations are happening shortly too), the pool was great, loved that breakfast was included, but it was the people working here who made our experience so memorableThank you

I’ve stayed here 3 different times, the first time was good The second time was alright, but the third time is what ruined it The vending machines don’t work, never have the times that I have stayed

The shower curtains won’t stay closed because the bar is installed incorrectly, I would like to think it was only in one room but it was like that in all the rooms I stayed in Hung the do not disturb sign on the door and still had house keeping knock three different times You can hear everything in every single room around you, to include alarms, wake up calls and TVs that are left on throughout the night I wasn’t sure I was going to use this hotel again this last time but I talked myself into it cause I knew where it was and Cracker Barrel is in the same parking lot and there isn’t one back home I won’t be talking myself into it next time

Good value for the price CLEAN, odor-free Everything standard issue, everything in good working order

Dated bathroom tile suited my 70’s aesthetic 🤣Breakfast selection was just cereal, bread, muffins, apples, oj, coffee, but again, more economical than many othersGood place to stop for the night

If giving this hotel negative stars was an option I would Absolutely disgusting and that’s from the inside to to outside And the management reflects the hotel exactly the same

Mold and health violations everywhere Very unreasonable and ignorant management! Rooms are dirty and molded and no fridge or microwave in any upstairs rooms If you love your family or health please pay the extra to book elsewhere I regret we work for a company that makes reservations on search hotel engine and doesn’t read reviews because this was a horrible experience

Kimery Shepherd

Owner wanted my DL and credit card emailed to a PERSONAL email and would not verify email on a business card before I sent I wanted to get a friend who has no water, a hot shower I wanted to pay for her room

When calling to see if I could pay over the phone – the owner wanted my DL and credit card pictures emailed to a non-business (personal) email When I asked them to email me a picture of their business card (which she said contained email) to verify the non-business (personal) email – she told me she was ending conversation and I could google

The staff are very nice, it’s always clean, pool is nice and is 3-5 feet so not very deep but enough to swim laps or just lounge in The price seems reasonable to us, as we paid $163 for our suite for the night It’s nice to have the roof top restaurant attached! We always get the suites with the hot tub that has a fire place, king bed, stand up shower, and lots of towels

We would highly recommend them and will be going back again

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions The times before were good This time the hotel was wild and quite the party atmosphere

It was so loud outside our rooms until after midnight Definitely do not stay on the ground floor if you are wanting to sleep at any point The other room we had on the second floor wasn’t much better We understand people having a good time but this was outrageous When management was asked about it, he politely replied there wasn’t anything that could be done and the bar stayed open until 2AM This will be our last stay at this facility

We were in town for some concrete pump training and stayed at this facility Nicest Best Western I have ever stayed The owner would personally greet us at dinner to make sure we were enjoying our stay

The restaurant bar inside the hotel was lively and had incredible food Try the prime rib it was delicious! We had a large group and our server, who I believe was Eddie, was very attentive and kept the drinks flowing This is why I can’t remember his name for sure! Great stay

We are staying here now and in the beginning the rooms are nice, bed was comfortable and the pool was good BUT if you are the last room on the second floor by the pool don’t expect to sleep It sounds like a heard of elephants non stop I mean non stop! I don’t know if the stairs are directly above it but it’s ridiculous

I don’t see any sleep in my future We have two young kids and it was so hard to get them asleep We have our sound machine blasting and still doesn’t even come close to covering it up If we didn’t have the kids we would have left (it’s that bad) Also the thermostat in the room doesn’t work at all and it’s pretty hot We never get away and I’m disappointed in the experience

Conveniently located Clean rooms, clean hotel in general Breakfast was our favorite though

My 3 year old has never had so many options at hand to choose from so she was in heaven Also she wanted me to add “clean floors” to my review The staff was also super friendly So between myself & my toddler, we approve 😊The only con we had was that there were a bunch of drunk guys outside of our window last night We stayed here on a Wednesday night Not the hotels fault at all though

Comfortable 3 rating for the room was for the heating/cooling unit Was not responsive and even though it wasn’t excessively warm it took hours to cool the room enough to get to sleep

Overall an ok place to stay It’s on me for not requesting a new room

For this place being roughly 20-25 years old, it’s always nice and a great place to stay with ok services to match it’s average priceMy family use to live within 5 miles of this hotel 2 times for a total of 22 years and we or I have stayed plenty of times with good outcomes pretty much every single stayI would definitely go back to stay here more

The wireless router in the hotel is spotty at best It will randomly cut out and the entire network will disappear from the network list for extended periods of time Front desk claims to have received other complaints about this issue

First room I got had a toilet that didn’t work on the first 5 flushes Was told to “keep trying” to flush it Ended up taking a new room Be careful with this hotel
