The hotel was very clean with comfortable beds & pillows (I even bought the same pillows after sleeping so well on them) The staff was incredible I was in town for surgery and my mom was with me due to anesthesia; they placed us on the 1st floor near the side door and checked in on me daily

How sweet is that? Breakfast was pretty good! The location was pretty central to everything and so convenient for us since we didn’t know where things were Great experience!

I’m handicapped and can’t do stairs We requested a mobility access room (clearly identified on the confirmation) They booked us on the second floor with no elevator

Sorry we can’t change the room being you booked through a third party Couldn’t use the room had to book another on the first floor Contacted credit card company to refuse the charges It was denied This is how this place treats handicapped and disabled people I wonder how many others they did this too Karen the front desk manager is a phony And the breakfast sucks Anything good is gone by 8 and is not replenish The other positive reviews are fake

Nathan Rinehart

Pretty nice rooms they do offer a breakfast which is nice They have a pool and a hot tub that both work Lately alot of the hot tubs have been down at my last few places I have stayed

So was a plus for the hottub working The down falls aren’t many But the tvs were small, and I paid 10500 on a Thursday for a stay To me that’s like weekend rates

Five stars for amazing serviceWe were in town for a funeral and they went above and beyond to make sure our family had a smooth trip They found fun things for the kids, facilitated extra pool and family connection and every time we spoke with them, they were incredibly friendly and helpful

The rooms were good (comfy beds, good pillows, decent room renovations, and it looks like bathroom renovations are happening shortly too), the pool was great, loved that breakfast was included, but it was the people working here who made our experience so memorableThank you

I’ve stayed here 3 different times, the first time was good The second time was alright, but the third time is what ruined it The vending machines don’t work, never have the times that I have stayed

The shower curtains won’t stay closed because the bar is installed incorrectly, I would like to think it was only in one room but it was like that in all the rooms I stayed in Hung the do not disturb sign on the door and still had house keeping knock three different times You can hear everything in every single room around you, to include alarms, wake up calls and TVs that are left on throughout the night I wasn’t sure I was going to use this hotel again this last time but I talked myself into it cause I knew where it was and Cracker Barrel is in the same parking lot and there isn’t one back home I won’t be talking myself into it next time

Paid for all the extra amenities, but did not receive them since it was a Sunday I searched for a hotel that was pet friendly, had a restaurant/bar, and a nice pool area The Embassy got extra points due to the free happy hour at night

This checked all boxes until we paid and got there Upon arrival, we found out the restaurant and bar was closed as was the happy hour due to it being Sunday The pool was freezing and the hot tub that used to be there was poured over with concrete It was a 75 dollar fee for my dog to nap in her crate Paid for parking as well even though there is nothing even remotely close to the hotel I was not the only one confused as there was a line of people at the desk looking for promised free drinks and snacks Some had even been given tickets (meaning the staff didn’t even know it wasn’t happening) The common areas are redone and look really nice, but the rooms are oldwalls cracked, bathrooms gross, heat/air doesn’t work too well The newer Embassy Suites are well worth itthis was so so I will be asking questions when I book from now on such as, what are your restaurant hours? Do you have a hot tub?The staff was all great and kind It’s not their fault And I’m not even that mad, I just think it should be communicated better and priced more appropriately

No fitted sheets on the bed, only two top sheets Bathroom has ants crawling on the floor The drain in the shower doesn’t work and I was standing in ankle deep water after a 5 minute shower

The breakfast area was not well cleaned up between people coming and going There were traveling softball teams and the noise level was high until 11pm, which is not ideal when traveling with small kids even with a sound machine running to try and cancel out the noise The pool area lacks seating for parents who want to sit and watch their small kids swim For the size of the hotel, I hoped the pool area would have been larger We arrived at 3:51pm with several others checking in ahead of us We were told we had to wait 20 minutes for our room unless we wanted one king bed with a pull out The furniture feels grimey and has stains The breakfast was not great Bacon, sausage and potatoes were covered in grease Eggs were not fully cooked and tasted terrible The coffee was somewhat okay but there was a lack of creamer options Overall, not impressed I’ve stayed at nicer Embassy Suites which is one reason we chose to book again I’ll be hesitant in choosing Embassy the next time I’m looking for a hotel

Susan Selby

This is an Embassy Suites straight from the 70s The room was absolutely filthy The furniture was grimy and disgusting

My knuckles are sore because I didn’t want to touch anything Half of the lights in the room either didn’t work or had no light bulbs There were some black bead-like things in the bathroom that may have been droppings from some sort of a critter I was told by the front desk that they would not come take out the trash in our room because we were staying only 2 nights, so bags of garbage were accumulating outside the rooms The only place we felt somewhat comfortable was in the atrium, sticky floor and all However, there were at least 5 buckets that were catching water from leaks My son slipped and fell on his back because one of the buckets was so full of water that the floor around it was all wet– a serious hazard and liability issue I could go on and on, but the final thing I will say, is to make sure you are fully clothed in your room the morning you check out because housekeeping will come in a couple of hours before checkout time without knocking This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star Save your money and go to a Motel 6 where the parking is free

I was told when I booked a block of rooms that I wouldn’t have to give a guess of estimated room rentals We were told that it would be “first come first serve” I was very disappointed to learn that my block was capped at 15 rooms

I was expecting many out of town guests of my 250 wedding guests I had to reach out to other hotels in a different area to accommodate more guests and therefore increase shuttle services Knowing my block was capped at 15 rooms would have been helpful to know at the time of booking so I could plan accordingly My room also smelled like smoke It was in the pillows and bed… gross

Matthew Zeimer

TLDR if you don’t HAVE to stay in Elk River, stay somewhere elseWe made it through the night but this is the second worst hotel I’ve stayed at I’m not a neat freak but the room was obviously dirty, without really looking, hairs on the walls and shower curtain, gunk and dirt on the desk chair, the bed was awful, and there was a lot of room noise through the wall

It was also generally a very dingey place, particularly for the price Finally, we went for breakfast and it looked really minimal and mediocre, the only thing we wanted was a glass of water because the room sink was kind of gross, and the water in the juice machine was broken, no bottled water available Unreal

Kerry Ruyak

We came down for a funeral and usually stay in Maple Grove but it was booked up due to a sports tournament so we opted to go North to Elk River, have had good luck with Country Inn and Suites in the past We were happy they gave us a “funeral rate” which was still WAY TOO MUCH for the room we received We reserverd the family suite

When we got there the room was too warm, air conditioner unit was in the back bedroom and would only go as low as 68 which didn’t ever get cool enough The air in the bedroom was ok, but it didn’t reach the rest of the living room where the bunk beds were There was a ceiling fan that whacks kids heads on the bunk bed so we couldn’t use it, would get hit while climbing ladder too There was a fan on the wall between the bedroom and living room but it didn’t work and there was no switch for it Could hardly sleep due to hot, stuffy air TV didn’t work AT ALL, cable was unplugged (so this was an issue with previous guest), worked on it for about 45 minutes trying to trouble shoot it myself, front desk just said, “sorry about that, we don’t have maintainance here” No replacement TV The bathroom was outdated and the sink and tub hardly drained so water filled up in both Sink water blasted out so hard it splattered all over and there was no bathroom fan Went to pool, no towels-we had to ask and they did bring a small pile of towels, but no basket or shelf for them even, they put them on a chair and walked away Needless to say, we will not be staying here again and will not ever stay at another Country Inn and Suites due to this experience In the morning while checking out the gal at the desk asked me how my stay was and I told her all of that and she just said, oh, I’m sorry to hear that Didn’t offer a discount or a credit towards another stay, nothing When we are on a getaway we like to watch tv late and was shocked they didn’t have a spare ALSO, when I told the girl about the fan not working in between rooms she didn’t even know what I was talking about, said she had never been in the family suites before so wasn’t familiar with that I DO NOT recommend staying here Go to Maple Grove or Plymouth, anywhere but here

I only have good things I can say about this place I made last minute reservations two days in advance, no problem Checking in was a breeze

There was a man ahead of me, but the short wait allowed me to take a better view of the way I just entered From the double automatic entrance doors to the front desk was open two stories up Off to my left was the pool entrance, then the steps to the second level of rooms, mine was at the top of the stairs And next was a quaint breakfast area, with tables and chairs, where they served a complimentary breakfast every morning Then to my right was the hallway that lead to all the rooms on the main level and a comfortable sitting area in front of a large fireplace that went all the way up to the roof It was beautiful So I got checked in and went up to my room, I booked a suite and it was perfect I entered my room and found the light switch There was a couch with a TV just opposite and a small desk and chair to the side On the desk was a pamphlet with all the information I needed to know Continuing on through a set of glass french doors was the bathroom and shower entrance then the bedroom The first thing I see is the fireplace in the corner with a large flat screen TV on the mantle To the next corner on the other side of a large window was a jacuzzi with mirrors around it and above And there I stood in front of a comfortable large bed with lots of pillows Ok, I had an appointment to pick up my girlfriend at 7:30 AM Thursday, with instructions not to be late It was a two hour drive strait through the twin cities, if you know what I mean So the plan was to find a room for a couple of nights that was close, another 15 minute drive was all Check in on Wednesday, be up early the next morning to be on time to pick up Dawn, and return to the hotel for another 24 + hours of leisure I love it when a plan comes together without a hitch And it did The staff were friendly and helpful, And efficient I have no problem recommending the AmericInn by Wyndham North Branch with highest ratings And I would like to thank the staff and everyone else, it was an excellent stay

Wanda Kruse

I was driving a truck, was 15 minutes from hotel, called to see if there was a room available, there was She wanted my info, I explained I was driving and would be there shortly She hung up on me

When I arrived She said all rooms were gone I left, had my daughter call for a room and there was one available I called her back and there wasn’t one available DONT LIE!!!

Came for a funeral The GM helped us personally and treated us with the best hospitality I have ever experienced She let us use the upstairs meeting room to put last minute picture boards together

Beds were comfortable They have a big breakfast with lots of choices and the staff has clearly been trained extremely well Will be recommending everyone I know that comes to the area

For some reason my last review did not post but my family of five lived in this hotel for six months And the staff was amazing Breakfast was always hot and the pool was always clean The staff even let us have our Christmas around the tree in the entryway and our kids had their birthday parties here

We were definitely blessed by this experience

Me and my family of 10 live in Cambridge and we had a house fire that caused us to be out of the home We went up to the GrandStay and Samantha was amazing She was the manager that helped me get everything situated with insurance when they were trying to drag their feet

They offered to open up the breakfast hall so we could eat dinner there as a family Mind you eight of the 11 people were kids and the staff was so great and I am so grateful for all the help all the staff were They definitely went above and beyond in our greatest time of need I would definitely recommend this place great staff good breakfast fun times in the pool and they made our stay as comfortable as they possibly could for two whole weeks Thank you guys so much My family and I will never forget how great you guys were

Stayed for 3 days, and each day was great :)! The bed was comfortable, and the AC in our room was perfect We could change it to 78° or 64° in no time! The shower pressure was lovely, and the showerhead was quite tall My partner is a tall guy, so the height was perfect

The breakfast was okay, but I don’t mind that too much The location is perfect too! You’re in the middle of everything you need

I only stayed for a day, but it was a great stay! The hotel staff were nice, and they were able to accommodate me with an early check-in, so that was nice The room that I stayed in was spacious and very clean, as well If I had to critique something it would be that, some of the property seems to be undergoing renovations, so both of their pools were closed and some areas of the hotel were blocked off, but other than that great stay! I’d definitely recommend! 👍🏾

I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews because doing so feels like a detriment to my fellow man But in this case, to not write an honest review (could I give 0 stars?) would be to dismiss my duty to my fellow man to spare them this experienceFrist off, the atmosphere of the hotel is that of scraped walls in the hallway with loud and liquor scented guests

(That’s no exaggeration) Inside the room, all the normal features appear to be functional But what do we all really care about? The bed and the pillowsFirst off, the 5 pillows were square shaped (What is this a couch?) and devoid of either fluff or cleanliness We found several eye lashes on the casesPeeling back the now off white sheets showed us several long hairs, not our own And the smell from them was not that of freshly washed It didn’t smell used, but it also didn’t not smell used eitherWe arrived at 1am on a Thursday and within 5 minutes had made our way downstairs for a full refund Thankfully, they did do us that grace by giving us back our $155 for a Thursday night stay I may have considered staying if they had offered to pay me $155, but I likely wouldn’t have been the first one through those doors to make some cash on their sheets
