A great stay! The old gal is showing her age and we had a few small issues but the staff went out of their way to insure that all of our needs were met quickly and efficientlyNick, the GM was amazing as well as was the day manager

Lisa perhaps? Kudos! The fact that they now accept dogs is HUGE for usThe breakfast was surprisingly tasty, we were impressed! We would definitely recommend

If you are thinking you are going to have a “Hampton” experience at this hotel, STAY CLEAR My room was dreadful Within the first hour, this is what I noticed: Long black hair, (I have short blonde) in the bathroom sink, tub, and spare bed

A HUGE crack in the bathroom sink, and the room phone was stained so yellow it looked like it had been pulled out of a smoker’s convention that it had been sitting at for 10 years Needless to say, I checked out two days early, the place was so so disgustingI wish I could do a half star on here, one star is being too generous

Front desk staff were incredibly nice and professional The room was very, very clean Nice bathroom soaps

Also the rooms have NO CARPET! I hate hotel carpet It’s always so filthy But not here! Instead they have lovely grey wood flooring And those lamps-clear acrylic with bubbles in them Very pretty and up to date decor Beds and pillows were so comfy! And like I said, it was so clean! Great price I highly recommend!

The room was clean, the hotel was well kept, and the free breakfast was good However, I had an issue during check in that tainted my experience throughout my stay I had a six-hour flight delay due to a snowstorm, so I ended up arriving at the hotel at about 4:30 AM the following morning

(I had called the hotel before my flight to inform them about my late check-in and my situation) But when I arrived, I was told that my reservation was cancelled and that I had to make a new one The employee told me “You said you would arrive at 4 AM, I was waiting for you, and I had to do the audit so I removed the reservation” The way that was communicated made me feel like I was to blame for a situation that was out of my control Not only that, but I ended up paying more for a king bed because “all the queens were full”, and I had to pay more than the rate I had when I originally booked on Expedia a month ago And to top it all off: the duration of my stay was 4 nights, but he mistakenly charged me for 1 night, so I had to return to the front desk the next morning to add the extra nights Needless to say this was very distressing to deal with after a long night of traveling and lack of sleep I do want to acknowledge the friendliness of the rest of the staff, however, especially the one girl who worked with management to resolve my issue and honor my original room rate I had chosen this hotel because it was within my budget, had good reviews, and was conveniently located near my boyfriend’s house Unfortunately, I do not think I will be staying here again

We came to Eden Prairie to see our grandma in the nursing home a few blocks away from this motel We enjoyed our stay here in room 309 The room was clean

We like that there was not carpet but hard flooring instead That’s less dander etc Breakfast was eggs, sausage, waffles, a variety of pasties, bagels, breads, cereal, Oatmeal, yogurt, juice and milk Staff spoke limited English but were friendly We reserved a room for both our parents and us Our parents came into town earlier than us, paid for their room and left to see our grandma We then came into town and repaid for their room plus ours This was re-credited to my card with no issues The location is basically right across from the EP mall It’s an older motel but clean and comfy Like most motels post covid the room isn’t cleaned until you leave That’s not an issue unless your a little piggy It’s not hard to make your own bed They are willing to clean it if asked and offered extra toiletries Overall it was a pleasant stay

Was in between house closings and needed somewhere to stay for 2 weeks with my cats The assistant manager Chris was accomodating and helpful when making the reservations The entire staff was consistently super helpful and friendly my entire stay

The room needed some love for sure The bathroom door didn’t shut all the way or lock, there were several blood stains on the comforter, and i had to wash all of the dishes because they were dirtyIt was quiet, peaceful and in a convenient locationOverall I was happy with my stay and would stay there again if needed If you need somewhere to stay with your [well behaved] cats, I definitely recommend this place!

Jadyn D

Very okay experience Let’s start with the positives:-clean-gluten free muffins at breakfast! Free breakfast!-nice layout of rooms – just enough space-proximity to the interstate and Minneapolis are both very good-nice location with stores and restaurants close byCons:-beds are very uncomfortable-noisy – you can hear people above you just walking and people in the hallway Not super uncommon but just something to note

You can’t hear conversations so that’s good-limited parking-poorly marked front office

Penny Johnson

My son is a traveling healthcare worker and has been staying at this hotel for 5 months and every weekend they rerun his room charges and charges him the full rate instead of the one they quoted him so his bank account is overdrawn each week until it gets straightened out He can’t buy food or gas or pay bills until they fix it I would never recommend this hotel to anyone

Hallways filled with dirty wet towels, sheets and other things laying around Pool was broken the whole 6 days we were there Very disappointing

We were charged more than our quote said, and manager was very unhelpful and rude Reception desk was always empty and had to wait very long amounts of time ringing there phone to get any help Leaky showers, causing bathrooms to flood every time when used We wished it was a better stay, but unfortunately it was not Would not suggest staying here, unless you want your stays cost to change and an unsanitary environment

Benjamin Dale

Overall, recommended Clean, friendly, quiet, pool, central location, great prices… Hits all the marks And the only hotel in Waconia (that I know of) so thankfully it’s a good one

Would’ve given five stars except NewsMax is regularly playing in the Lobby Hopefully they can make their hotel great again and figure that foolish problem out

We checked in @ 12:30 Am Saturday they one had a king with a whirlpool tub $148 ,and the night staff said we were good till 11AM on Sunday, turns out since it was a high end unit we were good at all !😡 Now check out Saturday is at 11Am and we weren’t notified till around 1PM that same day plus we were washing our clothes and the only way we could stay till Sunday was to pay another $148 + taxes as soon as we were done doing are laundry we leftWhat made me mad when we checked in on Saturday the night person even called someone to ask them how long we could stay at tge price we paid !!Live and learn I guessWe’ll never stay there again we were very disappointed in the treatment we got there 😡 Buyer Beware

This is a public service statement as well as a rating This place was a disappointment and I would suggest that you seek other hotels in the area I selected this motel as they had indicated in their on-line advertisement that there was a lounge and a restaurant in the hotel, but there was not

The price of the hotel was actually higher than others in the area (that offered hot breakfast in the morning as part of their stated price) Not only did Sonesta not have a restaurant, but they did not offer a complimentary breakfast; they did have some very basic and limited breakfast items at a counter that were available only for purchase For example, there was no complimentary coffee in the lobby I had to purchase a cup of coffee from a counter, after waiting 15 minutes for someone to man the counter and pour me that cup of coffee The cup of coffee was nothing special, but they charged me $600; and the worker thereafter indicated that it would be another purchase for a refill If you wanted to eat something for breakfast and if you were to purchase just basic items (hard boiled egg, small box of cereal, banana and some milk) it would be cheaper for you to drive to a local restaurant and buy breakfast There were no USP ports in the room to charge devices The hot tub was warm at best and the jets were weak To top it all off, before we arrived there was a ceiling tile that fell in the hallway near our room, and there was water and wet carpets on the hallway floor during the duration of our stay Seriously, you would be better off spending your money at another hotel in the area, you would then have free coffee, a warm breakfast, and USB ports for a lower price

Carla Burrow

We originally stayed here for a week and then extended for a longer period of time because my husband is working here for a month or soAt first the hotel was great except for no breakfast, not restaurant or bar ! ThenThe hot tub was drained and we were told they were refilling it and putting chemicals back in but a week later nothing was done to it and the pool was cloudy and green too ! Evidentially there was no maintenance done on it and no one seemed worried about getting it doneDanielle is great!! ! I can’t say enough about her customer service and her personality! She speaks to everyone in a friendly , respectful manor unlike the manager Amber! Amber is very rude and complained to us about working as many hours as she does which I feel was very unprofessional and no excuse for being so rude ! I’m guessing she treats her employees like she treats hotel guest and that’s probably why the whole housekeeping staff quit on her one day ! Our entire stay we never asked for our room to be cleaned because the housekeeping staff was so overworked so we would ask for sheets and towels and kept our room in order ourselves Again I can’t say enough about how great Danielle is ! The staff should take lesions from her about customer service !

Ashley Hoffbeck

Bad service Was hung up on trying to make a reservation Was going to stay for a wedding, but decided not to after talking to Lynn, as I’ve never received such rude service

The pool and the hot tub were closed No free breakfast I get there is a labor shortage, but that is no excuse to be rude to potential guests I decided to stay elsewhere

This was an interesting experience – one I will NOT be repeating This location appears to be an apartment complex converted into hotel rooms So, there are many separate buildings that you have to navigate to find your room

The good news is the buildings are only 2 stories high, but the bad news is stairs only And the buildings smell old and dirty If you don’t have a car, you may want to warn them up front so you don’t get a building at the other end of the complex Additionally, the layout of the room and the placement of furniture makes watching TV in bed incredibly difficult Room did not smell, AC worked and bathroom set up was decent Breakfast was as expected but the main building was extremely warm (like AC wasnt working) and uncomfortable to sit and eat breakfast

Erica Vilas Boas Massini

The hotel is clean and the staff is helpful and kind, but the apartment I stayed in, downstairs, is terrible – no natural light, extremely dark, depressing Also, I could hear footsteps in the apartment upstairs, as if there was an elephant walking on the ceiling And it wasn’t a problem with the person, because I switched apartments, to another one on the ground floor, and had the same issue

The breakfast was just ok – few options and the bananas were always looking perfect but black inside

La Wanda Fleisher

My 2nd visit to this Inn I am impressed with cleanliness of our room We stayed for 8 days

We had an amazing experience with our friends We return to our room and we were happy Our room was comfortable Breakfast every morning Friendly and warm staff waiting to helped us at anytime We enjoyed our time here Definitely a good place to stay

This place was not immune to this post covid society – recently re-opened because of lack of staff, no breakfast (even though it said there was on the website), no turn down service unless requested, ONE luggage cart (minor but inconvenient detail), the pool said it was closed until further notice but I saw people swimming during the middle of the day Would have been nice for my toddler and I to swim so we weren’t cooped up in the room all day The room itself was clean enough when we arrived and the beds were comfy, and the staff was kind which is why they are at least getting 3 stars

I hope things get better soon for this hotel!

This hotel is in need of a refresh/update Hasn’t changed or updated anything for a long time My company is just down Shady Oak Rd

and I have informed our office to avoid this hotel and shift back to Eden Prairie for lodging The staff was nice after you got them to come out of the office My room needed to be refreshed/updated especially the bathroom The Breakfast was limited and the evening offering was Pizza No housekeeping during your stay I don’t live like that at home and for the rate you pay for these rooms I expect more I am a Diamond Member and felt slighted at this hotel, Your status perks stopped at reserved parking and the staff made no effort to make you feel valued I travel for a living and stay in many hotels domestically as well as internationally which affords me to see the disparity between locations and hotels which are often identical in brand and accommodations Most hotels are franchised but should have some standards required upon a franchisee

Roger Brown

Have been staying here every week for 13 weeks on a company project Staff here takes care to make sure I have everything I need The only issue is the routine for room cleaning doesn’t make sense

I check out every Friday morning and back on Sunday night They clean my room every Thursday I had requested that all rooms under our company reservation to be cleaned on Wednesday It makes no sense to clean on Thursday then I check out Friday morning You have to clean again for weekend rentals Wouldn’t Wednesday be a more logical day to clean? Lastly, they know I reserve weekly but only leave two coffee pods and two paper coffee cups Have to ask at front desk and they are only allowed to give out two at a time BTW, I am a Diamond Elite customer

OUTSTANDING – My first time staying at Holiday Inn Shakopee,Minnesota I was pleasantly surprised from the start as i could not smell smoke of any kind like other hotels The front desk staff were friendly, check-in was simple

The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, the carpet was clean, and i say again – no cigarette or other smoke smells The shower has full size bottles of Dove shampoo, Dove conditioner & Dove body wash (Dove bar hand soap too), nice touch! Not crazy about low flow rainfall shower heads but i understand I did not use the pool or gym so no commentNow the impressive part – a real hot breakfast in the lobby Your choice of cheese omelette, vegetable omelette, turkey sausage patties, crisp hash brown patties, strip bacon, biscuits w/gravy, cinnamon buns, 3 types of cereal, pancakes, toast / bagels, yogurt, assorted fruit, packaged muffins, coffee, tea and 4 types of juice The girls working the kitchen were fantastic! The kitchen staff were constantly bringing out hot foodTwo Thumbs Up Holiday Inn, I will be back!

Brides beware, if you’re thinking of booking a room block here, reconsider We booked our June 2022 wedding block a year in advance with the hotel manager who at the time was so helpful and let us choose one of the few suites they have so our wedding party would have a place to get ready and we would have somewhere to go after our wedding in the evening I called a week before the wedding to confirm every person’s hotel room that was in the room block as well as our booked suite was correct to make sure there was no stress for the big day and they assured me everything was fine and provided all of the information requested

Our guests booked their rooms throughout the year and upon arrival many of them had numerous mistakes with their rooms or were double booked or were booked for the wrong nights When I arrived to check in they did not have our suite that we booked a year in advance to use as the bridal suite available We were told there was a plumbing issue in the room and it was no longer available, if someone books an entire room block around a bridal suite room you should probably let them know before they check in at 7 PM the day before their wedding that their room is not available… we were instead offered a small room with a Jacuzzi taking up most of the living room as a replacement The front desk girl working that evening clearly started five minutes ago and was on a Bluetooth headset with her manager the entire night learning how to do her job repeating verbatim what her manager was telling her to tell us… Other people from our wedding party spoke with the manager as well and nothing was done about our room not being available I’m sure that our room was just fine and they messed up the reservation or purposely gave it to someone else for more money as it was suddenly available the following day later in the evening but we didn’t have time to change accommodations in the middle of our wedding and we didn’t need the room anymore as everyone was already ready hours before overall the hotel was dirty and dated and I wouldn’t have chosen it again even if it weren’t for all the headaches It was very stressful and luckily was the only thing that went wrong with our wedding It’s too bad the wonderful manager we originally booked with had since left and management has clearly fallen apart and quit hiring competent staff If you’re looking for a hotel block for a wedding I would not risk the stress of this location

Gregory Feltman

I stayed here on 4/28 The lobby is your standard Americinn Looks stately and clean

The breakfast was good for the price and being freeMy issues start with the hotel room They are recently remodeled in the sleeping area and look nice However the bathrooms are old The shower head was almost completely covered in calcium and the water was very hardThe door had a bend in the metal footer which was sharp, and the carpet on the wall was peeling If you stay here, remember extra pillows, the ones supplied are smallThey have a pool which I did not use

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect It was comfortable, clean, and so so so cozy! The inn keepers were so kind and attentive and we really felt at home It the perfect walking distance to the lake and a bunch of great shops and restaurants, which makes everything just that much easier

Thank you for a great stay!

Jill McFarling

We had a great weekend getaway at this Inn We had the cardinal room which gave the additional space of a table/chairs and kitchen It was very quiet; we didn’t hear anyone else from our suite

I loved how soft the water was; very relaxing in the big tub Delicious breakfasts The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and shops Easy parking

Mark Schabert

We stayed here for a one night anniversary vacation and time to ourselves, as we have seven children and live just a few minutes away, but didn’t want to leave the kids for too long or be too far away from them in case they needed anything We had been hoping to enjoy the lake and bike trails, but due to the unseasonably cold weather and snow, spent the afternoon/evening at the Mall of America and the night at the Inn We had a wonderful time, and the Bird House Inn was a lovely experience! Although we did not have the pleasure of meeting the owners, everything was clean and welcoming and the breakfast was very nice

The Inn is very quaint, beautifully decorated and affordable The new bathroom with large hot tub in the Bluebird Room was so nice We hope to do this again sometime Thank you!

Double check your booking before getting there to make sure the payments are all set up and there is no extra fees for your key card in the event it is deactivated Besides that everyone is friendly and the breakfast is the best The rooms are super clean and smells so good

I’m talking fluffy Belgium waffles, French toast, sausage, bacon, bagels cereal, eggs, juice and let’s not forget the ☕

The hotel was fine, looked nice on the surface but definitely not maintained at all Our room had a busted divider frame in the seating area as well as a broken closet door mirror I let the front desk know about it immediately apon us checking into our room, they said they would let maintenance know right away

we stayed 4 days and it was never addressed The other negative part was the pool, my daughter was only able to swim once due to the extremely over chlorinated water It was hard to sit in there it was so bad Her eyes burned for days after swimming in thereThe staff was friendly The room was clean, it is just sadly starting to get run down from what I can tell

This was a very functional hotel The rooms were clean but in need of updating The showers were nice and warm but a little short for a tall person

The pool had a very cool looking tall twisty slide so it may have been better if my kids were with me The breakfast was post COVID normal, with some hot options Perhaps the best feature of this hotel was that it was located right next to a huge wetlands nature preserve with two walking loops Great for an early morning hike or winding down after a long day

The hotel and room itself was nice, no complaints but I’m giving this 2 stars because we were given a room where the door did not shut all the way and the deadbolt didn’t latch I didn’t notice the deadbolt until 9am and really didn’t notice the door not shutting completely until then when my daughter was able to get into our room without the key when she went to get ice in the hallway I called the front desk to change rooms and she told me there were empty rooms but those were for guests still waiting to get to hotel

I asked if someone would come up to fix the door and she said no one was around It was a sleepless night to say for sure I feel they could have done better

This Holiday Inn has potential, but is tired and in need of some much needed attentionWe were greeted with front desk that was friendly and helpful Got checked in promptly with no issues there

Got to our room and that is where the issues started for me Literally upon walking in there was a Qtip laying in the middle of the room (not sure how this was missed by cleaning staff prior as it was right in the open) See lovely photo of thatWe were left with about 7 squares of toilet paper and no extra rolls, so we had to return to front desk and ask for more (no biggie, it happens)Probably the biggest issue was the bathroom tile floor Literally pieces of the grout were laying around on top of the floor and floor tiles shifted and moved quite a bit The tiles are also pulling away from the wall, leaving much to be desired to look at that there Bathroom door knob completely loose as wellThe water pressure was great, although even with temperature turned all the way up, I thought the shower could have been hotter personallyThe beds and pillows were comfortable and I did sleep well, so there is thatWe only had breakfast one morning and it was your typical hot hotel breakfast Unfortunately, the juice machine and pancake machine was out of orderSmaller pool and hot tub, but they do have a single water slide, so I will give them props for atleast having the slide There were no towels available for use though, shelves were completely empty thereWould I stay here again, uncertain honestly Place could use a little facelift, atleast our room we got did

A decent hotel with ok beds The kids enjoyed the small pool while we went in the hot tub to relax from a long day Hot breakfast is provided

They had scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, waffles, etc Also provided, was a variety of juices as well as coffee & tea One thing I noticed that I would change is that they should leave the hot water dispenser on for those who enjoy an evening cup of tea After a soak in the hot tub, I went to make a cup of tea only to realize that the water was cold Overall, I’d stay again We had no real issues

Room was large and clean; children loved the pool and hot tub; breakfast buffet selection was very extensive, and the manager was great: I had a work meeting and planned to dial in from the business center off the reception, but he invited me to use the private board room instead An excellent stay all round, and we will definitely return

Great place but the service was awful We got with my wife to the hotel around 1:30AM , my father in law reserved a room for 3 nights for us, the woman attending in the front desk KIM I believe was her name, at the check in gave us the answer (at 1:30 AM) “You have to call who did the reservation” , we told her that we were going to try but probably he wasn’t going to answer… He didn’t answer, 1:30AM… After I told her that she should give us the options of answer security questions like the address of the person who reserved the room She finally accepted that we should have the option to answer that question and we answered right but she still mentioned we needed to call him, and after it she said “You put him in the phone or you have to leave” Being super mean

By the end she told us we can stay but we will have to pay the night and tomorrow when we confirm the other person reserved for us we can refunded We tried to show her pictures, chat, stories, even our wedding planning in 2020 with the person who did the reservation and she still remained with the NO, at 1:30 AM First time I have a situation like this in Marriott Even I can understand her position, but her attitude was awfulPlease guys pick a different place to stay in MinneapolisAlso when we got to the hotel, a woman with 3 kids was facing the same situation than us and the response from Kim (woman attending the front desk) was “the name of the person who did de reservation has to match with the credit card you’re using here for the security deposit” without giving even the option to confirm by security questions of who reserved the room and also the lady that was trying to check in had the person who did the reservation in the phone… And she still say no with excuse of the credit card Absolutely contradictory with the scenario she created for my wife and ISo sad that a fantastic day had a scar of this type

The sound of the freeway is so loud That combined with the very lumpy beds that have zero lumbar support kind of ruined my entire trip They even moved me to a different room but it really wasn’t any better

I am really sad because it was my first time going to Minnesota and I spent a lot of money to come out here and I literally couldn’t even take myself out to dinner most of the nights because I was too tired from lack of sleepAlso my bedding was dirty in two rooms The staff was very nice though, but if you are not able to sleep through loud constant noise, it really doesn’t matter I would never stay at this particular hotel again I’m so bummed out that I picked this place when I could’ve picked any Marriott in the city… The only reason I chose to stay so far out of Minneapolis is because I thought it would be quieter I’m so exhausted and my back hurts so badly I’ve been sleeping sideways at the foot of the bed trying to find a firm spot on the mattress that gives some lumbar support, but tonight I’m going to try sleeping on the floor to see if it’s better I literally started trying to sleep at 5 PM tonight since I have not slept for the last three nights but I still can’t sleep through the sound of the traffic I’m so sad and it totally ruined my entire trip for the most part Beautiful place to visit but make sure you stay at a hotel you can actually sleep at and that has comfortable beds I have a feeling it’s gonna take at least a week for my back to recover I am so much pain… I’m sad and I just want to complain a lot, LOL

Room and bathroom were clean Room was a little small but all we were needing was a place to sleep Beds were comfortable

Shower and towels were good Breakfast had a nice selection and was stocked well Gentlemen at front desk at check in needed to work on his personality and customer service skills The gal at the front desk at check out was personable

This is not designed to be a 5 star hotel, but is a clean, well maintained hotel with an above average hot breakfast Our room had a refrigerator, AC, WI-FI, and TV worked well, bathroom had nice counter space, beds were comfortable Staff was helpful and did a great job servicing the breakfast area

Better than average at this price level
