My large group and I stayed one night at this hotel Our flight (Spirit airlines) was canceled from Philly to NOLA and the only alternative flight was the following day from Baltimore at 7pm I quickly booked this hotel and just assumed we would have to deal with being cramped in a small less than favorable room

I was wrong! The room was spacious, beautiful and cleanthe staff was incredible Special shout out to Margo! She was so kind and accommodating We were blessed to encounter her The free breakfast was delicious (waffles, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, breads bagels etc) we washed our airport clothes (small coin fee the hotel provides detergent) Margo provided us with a late checkout due to the circumstance and scheduled a shuttle ride to the airport Thank you so much! We will definitely be back if ever in the area!

We were traveling through the Baltimore area and booked this stay in advance Romelo provided outstanding customer service at check-in, honoring our request for a pet-free room Our room was exceptionally clean

We liked the layout and found everything we needed in the kitchenette Check-out was seamless and we enjoyed the breakfast options of waffles, yogurt, fruit, juices, pastries, and to-go granola bars Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful

This place overall is a great stay!! Especially for pet owners I love their pet policy and the housekeeping staff is very friendly and thorough with the cleaning overall A slightly annoying staff member and a lil bit of updating needed in the bathtub irritated me while there

However the friendliness and efficiency of the managers as well as most of the staff, made up for any glitches The hot breakfast, pool, and gym are all great additions I do recommend this hotel and will try this brand from now on when traveling with or without our pet

Great place! Definitely worth the price, kind reception, good breakfasts, and pretty clean place No fault of the hotel – but woken in the middle of the night many times to loud cars in the parking and screaming in the hallways I wish the hotel handled that better and also the people who sit/sleep in their cars in the parking lot? They can be a little frightening when you are trying to get home late or leave early

The previous reviews of this hotel must have been paid testimonials, because overall, this was by far the WORST hotel experience I have ever paid for I will NEVER stay at this hotel again, and I recommend that others looking for a more affordable option stick to Holiday Inn At least they give you the basics

I felt like I had just moved into a college dorm room completely unprepared, with nothing but my suitcaseThe Sonesta ES Suites in Columbia Baltimore was very run down The rooms look amazing online, but they are nothing like that in person The least they could have done was ensure the room was cleaned properly But with trash left between the nightstand and bed, missing bar soap and sofa cushions, spotty hot water, and no cable access, it was not up the standards I expect from a hotel The internet is so bad, I had to go to Starbucks everyday to finish my work I would’ve been better off staying at an AirBnB that had no amenities I assumed that a pet friendly hotel would put more effort into cleaning My room smelled like wet dog all 3 weeks I was there I had to light a candle everyday to try to mask the smell There is also no access ice, water or any type of vending There was a water dispenser in the gym, but to be honest, I’m not sure if it was filtered It looked like they had a snack shop at the front desk, but with all the mess behind the counter, I couldn’t really tell if they were selling the snacks, or if they were for the staffThe front desk staff members are very unhelpful and have terrible customer service skills They act like they hate their jobs and doing anything to assist you is a huge inconvenience The manager I spoke with wasn’t friendly and instead of fixing the issues in the room I was given, just put me in another room that had just as many, if not more, issues than my original room The walls are EXTREMELY thin, so much so that you can hear someone sneeze not to mention entire phone conversations The laundry facilities are trash, so you’d be better off washing your clothes in the sink And breakfast was hit or miss I suppose it’s a good option if you want free food, but if you don’t like microwaved eggs and sausage, just use the in-room kitchen to make better food It may take 30 minutes to boil water on the tiny hot plate, but it’s an option I would give zero stars if I could

The only reason that I gave this two stars rather than one because of the staff is really nice But this hotel has seen its better Days The rooms smells molded, it may be the carpet

It was difficult for me to sleep because of the smell I had a headache for the 2 nights that I stayed there My coworkers stated the same thingNormally hotel lobbies are nice and updated Not this one, so you know what you are going to get when you get to your room Even the wallpaper has scratches and dirt on it Horrible!!! Do not stay here unless you live lesser than this!

Gavin GUARDMAN

We booked in to a “suite” which is putting it very modestly The only upgrade was a bit more floor room It was on the fifth floor

There was peeling paint and wallpaper across most of the walls The toilet would not flush and ended up clogging immediately When going to the front desk, clerk was on a smoke break and had to call maintenance personally who was just not at work What kind of Hilton has no maintenance staff? We had to plunge the toilet ourselves Subsequently another person in my party tried to shower and the bath tub backed up When going to plunge to it to maybe try and fix it, black pieces came out of the drain God only knows what those were So we asked to move which they obliged The room the system said was available was not It was filthy and torn apart and smelt like some one had died in it from the hallway Back down to the desk we went They finally seemed to pull enough sense together to get us into a room seeing as how it’s approaching midnight and we’d be lucky if there was any more available The consolation was free ice cream and a changed rate The rate going from 135 to 99 a night In my opinion this place was comparable to a motel 6 which cost 30 dollars a night I probably would have slept better there I like a stiffer bed but I left with back pain The ac wasn’t working properly either as I dropped it to 66 degrees and the ambient temp stayed around 71 Damp and dingy The lobby bathroom stall is falling apart The pool was nice enough with a broken gate The entirety of the hotel comes from a time forgotten which was kinda cool for two minutes until you see how nasty it actually is I guess if I was as drugged as hunter s Thompson in fear and loathing this place would be marvelous But it is indeed a dumpster fire If you have live anywhere close to better than this hotel is not for you

Before a long day of travel, I had booked a room at this hotel for over $200 in hopes of rest before a 7 hour drive the next day I arrived to a chaotic place with people having cookouts and throwing baseballs in the parking lot There was one person working on an incredibly busy night

I tried to go to sleep just before 9pm to no avail There was yelling, screaming, and door slamming I contacted the front desk They sent “security” up to quell the ruckus to no avail The next time I called the lady said she’d have them evicted, but still nothing I called the front desk 8 times over the course of 3 hours and as I write this the noise is still as loud as it was at 9pm This is behavior I expect paying $60 at a Motel 6, but this is a Hilton property charging almost 4 times that amount Stay away from this place if you actually want to sleep

The hotel is in need of a deep cleaning It was dusty and visibly dirty base boards, windows etc The bed was worn and the pillows are like small bags of rocks

Super uncomfortable stay Staff wasn’t to friendly and hardly said helloWe’ve stayed here before and each stay has gotten worse The bar tender was on her phone checking out social media while we were trying to get drinks We will not stay again I certainly do not recommend this hotel, there are other options in this area These were my pillows in my picture I literally folded them in half When I asked for new ones, they lady at the front desk was totally annoyed with me They did deliver 2 new pillows that weren’t much better and they said they could only replace 2, so my husband had to tough it out

My first visit to this hotel will be my last I had a bad feeling about this place upon arrival The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful, but the overall experience was terrible

I reserved two rooms and requested either adjoining rooms or rooms next to each other (for me, my daughter(s), and her friends who were celebrating her birthday) They allegedly accommodated my request, however, when my children and I went into one of the rooms, it was already occupied We had to scramble back out of the room as not to disturb the occupant Unfortunately, the only other available room was two floors away from my girls in the second room That didn’t work for us, so we wound up leaving and checking into a nearby hotel I understand an honest mistake, but it was late and we’d had a long day We were ready to hit the showers and go to bed Having to find another hotel after 11P was very inconvenient and even more tiring Also, IDK if the guest in the room we went into was a hard sleeper or what because they didn’t budge when we barged into the room I asked the front desk attendant to check on them I hope they did!

Excellent hotel and great rates especially for Marriot Envoy point redemption I have stayed there on numerous occasions The rooms are well kept and very clean

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was phenomenal It was quite and clean The staff was friendly and very accommodating

The breakfast was more than expected There were a variety of food choices from hot to cold foods as well as assorted fruits and juices It was nice to see that they offered turkey sausage because not everybody eats pork I would definitely recommend and stay here again

What a fabulous hotel! My family and I were pleasantly surprised at how large the room was! The room and entire hotel was so clean The breakfast was great for what was offered with lots of different choices Definitely using this hotel next time we are in the area! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful answering all of my questions

The only downfall, the pool was closed for the time we were there

Gaspi corgi

Third stay here and it’s always awesome! Ladies at the front the desk could be friendlier, seemed grumpy, but other than that it was a great stay! Clean hotel rooms and bathrooms Excellent breakfast choices with alternatives to pork The housemen and breakfast attendant Derry were very friendly! Especially Derry, she made our family breakfast special

Thank you so much to her!!!!! Will keep coming back

we had a two bedroom suite so it was roomy enough the ice maker was not turned on and there was no ice maker on our floor so that was a hasslethe TV remote was impossible to use was very strange this is only in the common space between the two bedroomsI think the king size bed in one of the rooms needs to be replacedit’s great that they’re ceiling fans in the bedrooms

the bathroom was decent but the small space between the toilet and shower made it a tight fit

Constance Moscicki

My husband and I recently drove up from South East Florida This trip we decided to do in three days instead of two Our final destination being the east end of Long Island

We really weren’t sure where to make our second stop If you should find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend Homewood Suites by Hilton in Columbia, Maryland We always stay at Hilton properties when we made this drive However Homewood Suites is our favorite out of all the Hilton properties at which we have stayed If you’re looking for a comfortable bed, a clean large suite, 24 hour coffee and a complementary breakfast then this may be the place for you I also love the fact that their linens are white The room was immaculate It was everything we were looking for in an overnight stay, but could easily accommodate a much longer stay

M. Hunter Haglund

This is a very busy location that is starting to show its age It’s conveniently located, but I’m going to need to find a different place to stay I’ve been coming here every few months for a couple years-and any excuses I could come up with to justify it were used up in the first two years of the pandemic

Now they just need to get their act together Hopefully they will pay a little bit better attention to guest services, and repairing/replacing surface wear

Staff during breakfast were top notch! They were very kind/courteous and made sure that everyone and everything was clean and sanitized for the guestsNewly renovated rooms were gorgeous! Great job updating them However, the only bad thing was that we were there for a week and thought our rooms would be peeked in on (to empty trash or give us fresh towels or more toilet paper, etc

I know with the new Covid protocols that they may not do so regularly, but thought maybe at least once during a week-long stay would have been nice We had to ask for clean towels (since ours would not dry from showering), more soap/shampoo, and toilet paperOne evening, we came back to the room and found that our window and sheers were opened (making the room really muggy), but the room was not refreshed We were confused why someone would come into our room and open our sheers and window Nothing was taken Went to tell the Front Office Manager at the time, but she didn’t have an explanation and seemed to shrug it off It was a little unnerving

Very clean and efficient The shower was clean and the workout room was very functional I loved the service from the customer service respresentative

The continental breakfast was even better than all other places I have been to I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism and the cleanliness of this hotel I will definitely be back!

I just left this hotel this morning I stayed overnight because I attended a wedding nearby I chatted for an early check-in and that is when the 5 star service begins

Although i did not arrive early due to traffic, my room was ready I stay at a lot of Marriott properties as an Ambassador Elite Traveler and this place is top notch The room was pristine from the kitchen to both bathrooms The bedding was lush and the towels were thick, bright and white I didn’t eat breakfast but I grabbed coffee and sausage on the way out Both were vey high quality Keep it up This franchisee has high standards!

Just checked out and I can’t say enough great things about this hotel I love the showers Awesome water pressure and they had updated seamless shower enclosures so there was NO MILDEW 🤩

The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly We were visiting family and the location was perfectWe had a nice corner room and it was very quiet There were a lot of people staying and we heard no outside noiseWe didn’t get a chance to try out the pool or the breakfast buffet but hopefully will get to next time we stay because I will definitely be back!

Nice, quick check in for a one night stay I was surprised to hear that breakfast was from 5:30-8:30

I woke up early after 24 hours of travel so as not to miss itThe hotel’s interior is recently renovated and the room reflected that It was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels and toiletries The hotel was quiet, shower was hot, and breakfast was decent My sink was clogged and drained very slowly, too late before I realized it And I think it’s unhygienic to put the coffeemaker in the bathroom

Janeen Maul

This hotel charges a $150 deposit that is returned after 3 to 5 business days It is not listed on the reservation or the confirmation they send Ridiculous considering the room is only $130 per night, I’m a rewards member, booked directly through them with a credit card, and stay frequently at other best westerns without issue

The woman at the front desk was rude, abrupt, and very unhelpful She took a phone call while I was attempting to check in and was rude to that person as well I had her cancel the stay and drove to another best western in Frederick where they treat their guests with respect and don’t charge a ridiculous deposit

This is a hotel that lives up to the Marriott good name It wasn’t brand new but it was very clean The breakfast was acceptable, and it’s nice to see hotels serving breakfasts again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic

The front desk was friendly The fitness room was clean and had some very nice drinking water Overall I would recommend this hotel

Casie Sulzle [Carlson]

There were always staff cleaning, and it felt like the whole hotel was clean Our floor even got shampooed during our stay, it was comforting that they cleaned oftenThe rooms were definitely outdated

The carpet under our chair was ripped up, the walls needed new paint, and our tub drained very slowly But, it seemed very clean and the bed was comfy!Breakfast was great! Shout-out to the chef because she came and greeted guests and kept everything stockedPool was a huge plus, as were the kind staff who recognized us in the lobby

Naomi Reinbold

I don’t feel like the pictures represented the hotel to date For the price it isn’t horrible but the best part of the room was the bathroom Our air-conditioner sounded like it was going to break off the wall, our TV was broken, when we let them know about it they sent new batteries for the remote, they never even came to the room to check it out

The pool was empty and being fixed We weren’t going swimming anyways but for people who have kids this may have ended badly I was just disappointed in the overall experience Hotels cost money and to have it be an experience where I was ready to leave at 1:30 am and continue my drive home it warranted a detailed review I will definitely not stay here again

I’m not sure about pets, but they are NOT kid friendly We heard babies crying at 6am and we never said a word, naturally because it is a hotel and people come with their families However, we received 2 complaints in the middle of the afternoon (12:30 and 3:45) when our 3 and 4 year old were laughing and playing in the comfort of the room that we paid for

Not in the hallway, not in the lobby, but in our room We received a call with someone on the other end saying, “can you keep your kids quiet?” When we expressed concerns about this and how the stay was uncomfortable for us, we were told that there are pilots trying to get some sleep When I checked out and again expressed my concern to one of the representatives behind the desk, another woman (not a manager) stood beside her and tried to justify the calls by stating, “we have other paying customers too” I quickly dismissed her and pointed out that it was one of me and two of them and I will finish my discussion with the person that I started my conversation with (which happened to be understanding regarding my complaint) I asked for the manager, who was unavailable on a Monday afternoon, and I left a voicemail with no call back or resolve We also had a teenager who asked to use the pool but was told that it was closed, only to see that it was open for other guests Pick another hotel if you have a family, especially if you have small children The patience and service is less than desirable, to say the leastUpdate…the manager called me back He was apologetic and very professional We received a discount for our trouble and appreciate the response and resolve

Beautiful hotel Great location for my work trip As others have mentioned, walls and doors do not filter sound at all

Normal conversations are heard 3 rooms away Next door room sounds like they are leaning against the wall while talking on the phone This is just normal conversations!!!!! Every door closer is not set properly, so every door slams closed… you can barely prevent it if you are trying to be considerate I’m a big strong guy and those closers would be horrible for a child, handicapable person… Won’t be back

Ellah

Customer service was questionable at first Upon checking in, I stood and waited for the front desk person to acknowledge me for what felt like 5 minutes while talking to a a co-workerBesides that, my hotel experience was pretty good

It was a quick one night stay for work The room was clean and so was the bathroom The decor is fun and modern and location was perfect for what I needed!Disclaimer: if you’re looking for a relaxing hotel for a getaway or staycation if sorts, I would not recommend as it was pretty loud and had tons of kids and families Which isn’t a bad thing of course, but if you want quiet, I would look elsewhere I agree with the other reviewers stating that the walls are pretty thinAll in all, I would visit again

Best hotel experience from the moment we walked in until we checked out! This trip specifically was with our family and it was a large group for a soccer tournament Lobby was big and beautiful with lots of places to hang out as a team Pool was clean and the kids had a blast! Rooms were clean and one minor issue was taken care of right away

Only downside I can think of is rooms need some updating with outlets so don’t forget your charging blocks they do not have usb charging as many other hotelsThe staff, I could right a book on how accommodating and nice they were to not only the adults but the kids I truly felt like the manager was my personal concierge and nothing went unnoticed by this gentleman he was on point at all times! We wonder when he sleeps as he was always there The breakfast and all the amazing waitresses were fabulous, definitely worth the cost!!! Plus they filled up the kids water bottle every morning and the parents coffee cups! I can’t say enough about the staff at this hotel they were beyond exceptional and truly made our trip as stress free and enjoyable as possible!

Trish Anna

Everyone who worked here was so nice! The room was very large and clean The bed was extremely comfortable! My only complaint is that I was not aware that I would have to be given a voucher for my food credit since I am a rewards member and was not given one upon check in I didn’t get to use my credit my first night because I was not aware of this policy

The next morning, I asked for the credit , was told “ok”, and thought it would just be added on to my bill at breakfast I was told at the restaurant to go back to the front desk to physically get the voucher for breakfast I did not mention it while i was there I was unaware of how this worked at this particular Hilton property I missed out on my “complimentary” dinner the evening that I checked in which I honestly do not believe is fairThe room was quiet, clean, big, and nice Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly, helpful, and nice I cannot say enough good about them or the hotel! The hotel is secluded, also

It is a beautiful place The set up is historic & ancient if you’re I to that type of thing Quiet, clean & homelike

The host were gracious, courteous & delightful The 6 cheese eggs are now my favorite My husband & I enjoyed our stay We plan to make this our go to whenever we’re in Ellicott

Jesse and Michelle are amazing hosts, very hospitable and warm We booked the whole place for two nights for a party event, and us and all our guests felt comfortable and excited to be there Breakfast was delicious each morning as we all sat in the sun room

The rooms are large, as are the en suite bathrooms The history of the house is fascinating and the grounds are gorgeous

The Inn was a great place to stay It’s easy to find off US 29 and my room was comfy, stylish, and very well appointed Also had a small sitting area, which added some delights

The hosts were friendly and took a lot of extra trouble to make sure that I had a gluten-free breakfast I am very grateful for such care There’s a fantastic ancient tree out front which is worth stopping to see My stay was in late October, but I have added going back in warmer weather to enjoy the patio and outdoor space to my bucket list Highly recommend this historic Inn

My new bride made reservations for this trip, as such, the room was not under my last name There was no social hour, breakfast, snack, or beverage offered purportedly due to covid It appeared that the dining space was significantly reduced due to the fact that the back deck for outdoor dining was condemned

There were multiple signs of neglect in the interior and exterior of the building This building has potential, but will take some work It would not have a bad experience for a $55 stay, but extremely disappointing for the price paid

They are not ADA compliant I was turned away at the door due to my disability after a confirmed reservation in my husband’s name If you’re a person traveling with a disability, stay away from this place

They won’t treat you like a person I can’t speak to the inside of the room, I never made it But I highly recommend finding an alternative place to stay, anywhere else I normally only write about positive experiences, but I would never want someone else to be stranded They don’t want disabled money They will turn you away with an empty parking lot and little other revenue coming in

This is the worst place to stay They have no amenities They claim to have a sheep farm but that is a total lie

The place is completely run down and has not been taken care of They do not have a kitchen The patio doors do not lock and the patios are filthy with leaves, cobwebs, bugs, etc They also claim to provide a breakfast When we checked in, they gave us a small lunch bag with two store bought muffins, individual oatmeal packets and pretzels that they clearly bought from the grocery store They have a no refund policy for a reason because when you check-in, you want to leave right away

The first night, we couldn’t get served in the bar due to apparent staffing shortage while the hotel was busy The bartender was not just busy, he was rude When we finally got seated for dinner, the server was great but a steak came out cold

There was so much noise both nights we couldn’t sleep The in room coffee maker was broken There is no service to help take bags to the rooms and luggage dollies are sparse The decor is extremely dated I could handle one of these things but the combination is atrocious I feel sorry for the staff Our room was $400 for two nights I had plenty of towels and the bed was comfortable, although the noise level was prohibitive of actual sleep The second night we tried to order room service; Door Dash was faster The facilities were clean

This was a beautiful structure and clearly was top notch maybe in the 90’s , however with all the amenities this place can still hold its own The bar and restaurant was absolutely amazing and the food was really good The parking area was plentiful and the pool was clean

My wife took advantage of the spa while I spent time killing ants back in the room on the 5th floor for the remainder of our stay Everything else was fine from the kitchen to the enormous bathroom with his and her sink I was kinda upset when I noticed a couple ants running across my dashboard upon leaving out stay-cation

This is such a beautiful facility and far enough outside Baltimore and Washington DC to avoid traffic I didn’t golf, but wanted to very badly The hotel staff from check in and for all our meals all week were amazing

They were always ready to answer any question and very responsive The room had everything I wanted in it, was very clean and the water pressure is great My only suggestion is get a room facing the golf course as the parking lot can be a little loud if you are over the lobby

I had high hopes for the property based on reviews on my booking site but the experience was below average for me The room would have been comfortable if it didn’t smell like smoke the entire stay We asked the night we checked in if they could do something about it and instead of moving us they used a bunch of Febreze

That created a masked smoke smell for the first two nights that was tolerable but it seems like the smoke came back up into the room the third night, I assume from a different room The whole floor was non-smoking but that didn’t seem to help The bathroom was pretty run down and the breakfast is really a joke There were enough problems that it seems like management is just trying to hold onto the smoking crowd and riding that wave of customers

Wow FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND OTHERS DO NOT BOOK AT THIS LOCATION!! this is the worst sleep inn ever i would never consider this location especially if you are black the staff called 3 police officers on me and my girl and lied to the police told them that it was four people in our car and that we were checking car doors in the lot We was booking a room online from our car when three Police cars approached us telling us what the front desk said , so MANGERS AND CORPORATE WILL BE CALLED TMRW!!!!!!

This hotel was disgusting They must be paying for the good reviews We are IHG Gold Members and have never stayed at a hotel as gross as this

Was told by reservations that it was recently renovated but the hotel employees said it was not We were given a ground floor room and left after finding red stains on the mattress We were given a VIP room and that too was gross Never stay here! Would post pics but can’t figure out how

Hotel appears to be an older one and need a renovation noted mold all over the tile grout in the bathroom so proper maintenance has not been being done The staff at this location are absolutely wonderful! They are the reason for the three stars because they are what really make this location Other than the staff the rooms are mediocre and like I said in need of renovation

The on-site restaurant is a joke the menu is very limited and they don’t serve anything that looks remotely like any of the photographs on Google Maps for the restaurant LOL having said all that the worst thing about this location is its location It is impossible to get to this Holiday Inn that sits on the corner of an intersection from two sides there’s only one entrance that you can use and if you’re coming from the wrong direction particularly if you’re headed north you’re going to have to go somewhere and make a U-turn and then backtrack to be able to get to an entrance for this hotel Noting that I won’t ever stay here again as there are a couple of other Holiday Inns just down the road that are a lot easier to get in and out of Of course just visiting the area I had no idea that it would be such a hassle so I’m leaving this review in hopes it helps someone else in their decision making
