Off the Clock – Off the Map

Not bad, but I would not stay there againThe room looked decent upon entry, but there was an overwhelming odor of mold or mildew I bought a car air freshener and clipped it to the air conditioner just to try to cover the smell enough to breathe a little

(We noticed that the hotel had done the same thing on a unit in the hallway too)Ceiling peeling in a couple places Several screws half out (caught my finger/nail several times) Shower unit was missing screws entirely Weird tissue box setup (see pics)The hanging light fell twice We could see that the threads were stripped and realized that it only hangs when wedged on an angleThe mini coffee pot malfunctioned and went up in smoke – and I mean the literally ***Ahh, the refreshing blended smell of mildew and electrical fire*** It looked as though the interior had not been cleaned in a long long Staff did replace it with a brand new unit within minutes, 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 but I wasn’t about to test my luck on this second unit at that pointThe part that really surprised us was the bed spread We had never seen anyone use a flat sheet, covered with a comforter, then cover that with a second flat sheet When we peeled back the top sheet, we realized that the comforter was riddled with rips and holes of all sizesAfter finding all this within the first 2 nights of our week-long stay, I guess we should not have been surprised that the quality of the continental breakfast was pour They had a decent selection and presentation, but microwaved meats and bagels so dry they were almost inedible is not a great start to your dayAnd then we found their tea!!! Wingate, you made a great choice in tea! I had never heard of Farmer Brothers tea before Y’all now have me actively seeking out a Farmer Brothers tea supplier back home That was a great little Easter egg to findOverall, the staff was nice, everything seemed pretty well cleaned Not the worst place we have stayed Sadly, I can’t say this would be my top recommendation for anyone visiting the areaIf you stay here, bring your own tissues, air freshener and hair dryer (they don’t have hair dryers either) And just plan to carefully watch what you do when you’re trying to relax in your room at the end of the day

Absolutely fabulous experience with Ronny (GM) and his staff! Just co-coordinated a trip for 100+ to an event for the weekend in the the area Ronny was so helpful in making sure everything went smoothly, and willing to answer any and all questions Truly went above and beyond, and exceeded our expectations! The hotel was clean and well kept, and easy to get around

My only disappointment was not getting to thank Ronny in person for all he did! If we are back in the area I will not hesitate to stay again!

Karina Patel

My friends and I stayed here for a night out, and it was amazing! It was not far from the airport and downtown Dallas The staff was amiable The room was nice, spacious (we got a king bed), and very clean

The bed was very comfy, and it was tranquil at nightI asked the front desk for more toiletries, and they brought a bunch within minutes They also asked if we needed anything else The service was terrificIf we ever find ourselves in Dallas again, we will definitely be staying here 5/5 stars!

The hotel was OK but front desk told me I need a $100 down payment that I would get back if the room wasn’t vandalized or had anything stolen I made sure my room was clean and organized, I was also told that what I got from the snack bar wouldn’t be an extra charge on my card but taken out of the $100 down payment I stayed in October never got the down payment back and the snack bar charge was on my card

If you stay here take pictures of your room before and after

Not a bad hotel but needs improvements For the price, it nice bed with a small kitchenette Friendly staff

Close to public transit, DART train Would consider rebooking with them in the future for a shorter stayThe appliances are older and some need to be replaced Our refrigerator was in good condition and worked well The toaster did not toast, even on high and going multiple times The stove top needs to be replaced as the front burner just keeps getting hotter regardless of the setting and the back burner would fluctuate temperature The dishwasher was definitely older but work well There was also a coffee maker which we didn’t use and there were other appliances available upon requestThe carpets could use a good deep cleaning but are good shapeThe bed was comfortable There was also a reclining chair that was very comfortableThe water got really hot out of tap Great for washing dishes (I’m a pumping mom and have to hand wash pump parts, so this was really nice) but need to be careful in the shower/tub because it gets scalding hotThe cable was OK Missing a lot of channels that we normal watch and have access to at other hotelsThey do not have any kind of breakfast available at all They do have complimentary coffee availableWe did accidentally leave a multi function charging cord in the room after checkout When I called to inquire if they had a lost and found, they said they did but automatically threw away charging cords This was really disappointing because it wasn’t a standard charging cord but a 5in1 splitter that could charge our electric razor, phones and other small electronics at once

Loved this hotel and proximity to restaurants, bars and shopping Very spacious and clean room with nice view overlooking canal The staff were awesome

I’m local and stay was business related, but I’d do an overnight here on personal time just for fun I liked it that much Drinks were good, but I’d suggest going off site for food Food on-site is convenient but taste very much like mass produced hotel food

The hotel needs some TLC and a deep cleaning The rooms are super outdated, dingy, and dark however we slept well the days we stayed It is nice to have the full kitchen

Wish ice maker worked in the room Trash receptacles need to be emptied outside Sufficient supplies need to be provided in rooms We stayed 6 nights and only one roll of toilet paper was provided Breakfast was good Liked that they had hot options like scrambled eggs, potatoes and a different breakfast meat each day Some days have pancakes and French toast They had boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal, cereal, and breads as well The location was good to activities we needed and seemed like a safe area Staff was good Had to move first night due to a water leak and they were quick to accommodate

Janie Bowerbank

The location was wonderful We loved that it as 2 bedrooms and a sitting Rea and a kitchenette The breakfast was delicious and there were many options

The location had many restaurants nearby as well as shopping We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed the pool The place was clean and rooms were quiet We enjoyed our stay and not far from the airport as well

Beware Make a reservation through a 3rd party and your reservation isn’t actually guaranteed, as the front desk manager saidI made my reservation well in advance of a month through a 3rd party, paid extra for a king bed, and upon time to check in was told that they are sold out of rooms and only have a queen room available

The manager explained that since we made a reservation through a 3rd party our room time isn’t guaranteed, meaning that they will give your room away to someone who pays them directly for the opportunity to make more $$$She then tried to make it sound like we were getting a better room putting us on a higher floor Big whoop Higher floor with two beds instead of oneI could have dealt with the fact they had no rooms left and just tell me that You don’t have to make it seem like I did something wrong by making a reservation through a 3rd party and that’s why I’m not getting the room I paid forWhy sell your rooms through 3rd parties if you’re going to treat them like 2nd class citizensNice job!** Rooms are nice and clean – no issues there**

I’m very ambivalent about this place Spent a couple of nights here while doing a marathon and still cannot decide whether I enjoyed it as much as I thought It has a great location but did not like that the store was too far

Yes they have a mini store inside but it’s hard to pay 3 bucks for a bottle of water They have a nice bar inside but did not have a chance to try it out No free breakfast butt they have free coffee Bed was very comfy but pillows were nothing more than t-shirts, all flat TV was nice with on demand hbo, it took forever to find anything though because the controls were soooo slow Shower was nice and with decent pressure but shower head was not secured in the wall and felt like it would give out while adjusting it, loved the look of the sink and toilet, but they were very low height wise and after running 26 miles (17 for me as I failed to finish (that’s another story)), it was torture having to bend down to sit it was my face Oh well, I guess I might stay here again simply to try out the bar Thank you!

I ended up here by accident (cancelled flight and issued a room here) and it was the highlight of my trip so far The shuttle driver and every employee I have met have been so warm, welcoming and above and beyond kind Truly a breath of fresh air for how customer service has turned in the US since Covid

The room was exceptionally clean, the bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was truly the best one I’ve ever had! Next time I will be staying here as my first choice

Chris Foreman

Got billeted here due to a missed connecting flight at DFW The front desk and shuttle drivers were extremely knowledgeable about the airport and had no problem getting me from the pick up to the hotel and back to the exact gate I needed The room was nice, I did detect a smell in the hall that I can only describe as “slightly dirty vagina” but I’m into that so I consider it a feature rather than a bug

My only gripe at all is most of the dining options were across the highway There was a red lobster right next door but no fast food places

I stayed in the MCM Elegante Dallas for two nights and attended a convention in their meeting and event rooms The entire experience was great! The staff impressed me with their helpfulness and courtesy They had our event rooms set up and ready to go, stocked with fresh water

The bathrooms were always clean, and the staff was available whenever I needed help I found comfortable and roomy, clean and quiet There were several restaurants and a Starbucks within walking distance I’d definitely return

Justin Talley

While the room decor was nice, the paint was somewhat peeling and even though the two rooms we had, one in the poolside Cabana rooms and one up in the fourth floor of the main hotel, were supposed to be non-smoking, both smelled kinda smoky I know sometimes it can’t be helped especially after years of use But overall, for the price and the service, I definitely think it was worth our stay

The kids also enjoyed the pool in the morning before we checked out and the food that came with the room was excellent There was so much bacon! The breakfast food staff was helpful and amazing even with our large group! Thank you for the late shift to help us check in and we’re super helpful and kind

Sam Szczesny

We stayed at this hotel for the DollCon Dallas 2022 convention and I loved my stay! The rooms were comfortable and clean and I was genuinely surprised how many updates were made in a more historic/older building The TV was a good size plus the rooms had a spacious bathroom and a microwave and mini fridge The morning breakfast was also delicious! I hope we get to return to the hotel next year because it had the perfect layout for our event as well

Thank you, MCM Elegante and staff for the lovely visit!

Hotel is under construction so the whole front entrance is closed That’s not a problem as they are working to make the hotel better When my family and I checked in around 5pm on Friday evening, the front desk attendant didn’t give us our breakfast coupons(we didn’t know this at the time)

So the next morning (Saturday) trying to get breakfast I had to deal with this with the front desk and breakfast staff Then again on Sunday morning I dealt with itAlso I asked for a 30 minute late check-out and was told I couldn’t get a late check-outRooms were pretty good Hotel was clean

Renée Jackson

I had a horrible experience with this hotel during last winterI booked a hotel room close to the airport in Dallas—a room with free airport shuttle and a great Indian restaurant nearby, for a quick overnight stay with the charitable non-profit for which I work The room was fully paid ahead with a business credit card—not just a “credit card on file”—in order to receive a discount

I arrived as planned, after waiting a lengthy hour for the free shuttle ride from the airport I arrived to find that they sold my fully prepaid room out from under me—with ZERO advance notice for which the front desk barely halfheartedly apologized So they sent me to the Las Colinas—miles further into Dallas away from the airport—about which this review reportsAt the Las Colinas, no one would recognize my reservation sent from the first hotel Desperate for a bit of sleep, I gave my personal credit card number so that I would simply have a place to stay, in faith that the cost would be sorted out later In the morning, neither the Las Colinas nor the first hotel would pay for an airport shuttle–which cost far more than planned now that I was farther from the airport than planned In the morning, the clerk wouldn’t give me a receipt but said it would be emailed And when, back at home after long flights, I found the receipt, it was charged for the amount I had prepaid at the first hotel PLUS $17 extra (before taxes) AND it was a duplicate charge on the same business credit card that they couldn’t look up the night before Very fishy; very dishonest; and totally not okayIt took about a dozen calls and emails to the managers at both hotels, neither of which were very responsive (the first hotel was responsive once, and after that not at all) It took about a dozen phone calls to Hilton’s US Customer service to get them to put a “case” in place toward getting the charges and refunds straightened out—the duplicate charge lowered by $17, the duplicate charge taken off the credit card, the $35 shuttle fee reimbursed, etc Why the hotel itself couldn’t and wouldn’t refund the money is beyond me—especially since they were able to charge credit cards they said they didn’t have, and for fees beyond what was promised The Hilton national offices had to issue the refund, and promised it would show up on the credit card statement within one week After I thought it was a lost cause, the refund finally showed up 8 weeks laterThe extra charges might not seem like huge numbers, but for a non-profit agency flying me for charitable work, which I accomplished in Dallas, they are major Not only that, but the ethics of services purchased, services rendered, and customer service promises from the hotels, is very important to me I don’t take broken promises lightly when part of a contract between myself as a well-traveled customer and one of the biggest hotel chains in the world I will do everything I can not to patronize a Hilton hotel for a very long timeYes, finally, the second room charge and the shuttle fee were reimbursed, only after many unkept promises along the way How does a hotel chain like Hilton make all of that right? Surely not only by refunding the bare minimum of the extra charges that were THEIR fault Since no one did anything to try to make this right as far as keeping their word, or going above and beyond, I have no reason to stay at a Hilton in the future They treat customers this lightly? There are far better options out there I have traveled all over the world, and everything that happened at the two Hilton properties during those twelve hours was outrageous

S

My only critique is You have to pay for breakfast I feel like if I spend 15000 on a room and I am a Hilton honors member breakfast should be included ! Besides that the hotel was very clean my room was very nice and clean i got some really good sleep and felt comfortable pillows were very soft plus the lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful I would definitely come back! I do recommend this place

My experience at this hotel was incredible! The shuttle picked me up seamlessly from the airport upon my arrival My suitcase zipper broke and the staff fixed it for me The rooms were spacious, very clean and peaceful

Gym was sufficient for a hotel gym and breakfast was good also! Will definitely be staying here again and highly recommend!

Jess Lynn

My friends and I were able to book the same day we needed to stay after our horrible experience at a different hotel we were supposed to have a booking at We went through Bookingcom and once we arrived shortly after booking, they got us our hotel keys and into our room without a single issue! The front desk staff were wonderfully polite and made the experience very easy and comfortable, and checking out on the 5th was just as easy

The room was very clean and the beds were comfy, it was a great place to relax and escape the Texas heat and the commute from this hotel to the Irving Convention Center was fairly short which is a huge plus for my group! Room service was very polite and in general, our stay ended up being very pleasant on all fronts We will be coming back the next time we need to book a hotel in Irving!

Brittany Jackson

I’ve stayed here for 2 weeks and I don’t have any of the issues I’ve read from others ! Except for the mildew smell in the front when you walk in but that has been remedied The housekeeping is impeccable and I love the breakfast I’ve been helped with fees as well as it relates to my pets

I have no need to use the shuttle but if I did I do understand there’s times where a driver is not available but that’s happened at other places I have stayed and we just found alternate means of travel and we’re young adults on a budget and we didn’t mind Everyone is friendly I feel at home here

Biggest complaint – one towel when we checked in… that is the ONLY complaint we had This hotel is amazing! When we made our reservations and they were so cheap we just knew it was going to be bad However we were trying to stay within budget and holy cow!!!! Diamond in the rough is an understatement! Service was great, room was spacious, water was hot

Neighborhood was nice and quiet Will come back next time!

Mileydis Atkins

Nice pool back yard/patio, rooms were clean but hotel is old, looks like they did some renovation but still have the smell and old look in the hallway, doors etc You have to request the room service (boo if you don’t know) breakfast sucks! They only give you a box of prepackaged food that tastes like a cardboard No fresh food

Staff was nice, good location

Lori Throne

My family and I stayed this past weekend We had a 2-bedroom suite that far exceeded our expectations We arrived after midnight but were greeted warmly and checked into our room promptly

The room was very spacious and larger than anticipated There is free parking and a free hot breakfast with different items daily The front desk also supplied us with complimentary toothpaste and razor as we neglected to bring our own This will be our first choice on future stays

My family has always stayed at Staybridge They are by far the best hotel Rooms are always clean

Housekeeping is always attentive Front desk is very responsive And this particular location was great I love that the rooms have a mini kitchen complete with a full-size fridge, stove, dishwasher and even pots and pans and eating utensilsWe did have a minor issue with our toilet not flushing but front desk sent maintenance immediately and it was resolved My only complaint was the breakfast Definitely could have been better But overall we enjoyed our stay

Megan LeBeouf

I NEVER leave reviews, but this was the worst experience in a hotel we’ve ever had The first clue should have been the stagnant, hot air in the hall, leading to our room Once in, we attempted to adjust the temperature to cool things down, but it never kicked on

We spoke with the front desk and both rooms that were offered to us were then “taken”, from the time my husband came up to the room to discuss which option we wanted to go with We ended up waking up our kids and leaving at midnight to stay somewhere else If we can help another family out, I’d say this: Word of advice, chose another hotel

Charlie Sanders

I’m late with this review, but I stayed from April 14th-15th, but was charged for the 16th as well because it was after checkout The area and the outside of this hotel does not match the interior The rooms were outdated and Room 318 had mold located in the AC register and the tub (see pictures below)

The AC seemed to be intermittent as well, even after adjusting the thermostat I told the front desk and the staff was willing to move me to the 1st floor, but after checking the room out (still outdated with a torn couch) I decided to leave and canceled my remaining time there The area is nice, but I would not recommend staying here

We were supposed to get two presidential suites with titanium rewards and they only gave us one, after promised, because the other one wasn’t ready

When we got to our “Basic” bedroom we found roaches and told the staff and didn’t do anything about itAt breakfast time the server was very rude to everyone, which I totally understand because he was the only one working but it wasn’t the right way to treat clients

My boyfriend and I were staying at the Dallas West Park Hotel as it was transitioning into the Renaissance The hotel was beautiful and we enjoyed the bar area, the new bartender was great! We were even able to check in a couple hours early which was great because our flight landed earlier than expected However, there were a few disappointments during our stay

The first two days there was fire alarm testing and on the second day it went on for three hours! We inquired about this with the front desk and a man assured us it was just the two days of testing and that it would end soon We never received a heads up about this, had we known we would’ve made plans to leave during this time My other big issue was that the day before my check out housekeeping came to my door multiple times, and eventually the hotel management, who asked us if we planned on extending our stay I explained to them that my check out was Tuesday and showed them my confirmation email I had booked through American Express, which they assumed must have been the issue I had to go down to the front desk to rescan my keys and forward my confirmation email to the manager but never received an apology for the inconvenience and misunderstanding The situation made me feel as though I was at fault Beautiful hotel but I don’t think I’ll be staying here again

Was less than impressed during my recent stay First of all, everywhere in the hotel is warm The lobby, the rooms, the restaurant

I feel like I couldn’t cool down and it’s only May Our refrigerator in our room didn’t work either You have to manually turn it on? I’ve never seen that before The coffee bar is only open until 11 during the week and the restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner I was turned away at breakfast when there were people still clearly seated and eating It was 9:45 If you’re thirsty between the hours of the restaurants being closed, good luck getting something to drink (or eat) There are no vending machines and no where to get drinks/food The restaurant smells like an old bowling alley and the sheets smell old and musty The one drink I had at the bar was good, and the dinner menu looked good, but since I didn’t order cannot attest to taste

The good: rooms are large and very cleanThe staff was nice and helpfulThe bad: this hotel needs some serious sound proofing

The traffic noise is really loud and you can hear every footstep in the room above you You can overhear conversations in the room next to you too Overall, didn’t catch any sleep before my early morning flight Pay the extra money to stay somewhere where it’s actually quiet enough to sleep,

Coming back from Florida, was in a pinch and needed somewhere quick, quiet, and reasonably priced This was the place! Very clean property inside and out Staff was very helpful since I got in at 10am (check in is at 3pm) they got me in early for a small fee which I didn’t mind

Pool was nice and relaxing, room was clean Definitely staying here again when in the area

The bed and overall room was good, no bed bugs and the employees are nice It’s just my husband and I found a used condom on the floor next to the fridge so that was really gross The security of the parking lot is so and so, I saw a lot of people out at night there and there’s even a sign that tells you to hide and/or take your belongings so it doesn’t get stolen from your car

Driving cross country or just for one night, this is a pretty decent place, they just need to work on cleanliness

Amari Shaw

The only reason they aren’t excellent is because the front desk employees are rude and diss honest about services and regulations The front desk employees are also racist in a lot of different manners Overall I love the location and the majority of the housekeeping there cleanliness is approved as well

Love that of course!

We spent 6 1/2 weeks at this property and we cannot say enough good things about it 1 The cleanest hotel room(s) I’ve ever stayed in

Every corner was spotless 2 Friendliest staff across the board, from the manager Mr Shepherd, to Carla, Santos, Bernard, and Brenda 3 Welcoming – always greeted with a smile and “may I help you?” 4 Complimentary breakfast: Brenda goes out of her way to make sure it is delicious and nutritious Walnuts, almonds, cherries, raisins, etc to top your Old Fashioned made from scratch oatmeal 5 Accommodating – our renovation start date moved several times and Mr Shepherd assured me that I did not need to worry, he would take care of us – and he did It all starts with him He has done a fantastic job with this property and it shows

Every single employee made our family feel welcome (including our dog!) They were unfailingly cheerful and helpful Most mornings, the breakfast offerings included home made oat meal, with a wide variety of optional extras What an unexpected treat! Our rooms were clean (and quiet), the beds were comfy, and the location was convenient

In all ways, it was a wonderful experience!

Ian Minor

We had a very rough travel day on Wednesday 8/10 8 of us had our flights cancelled and we had a very hard time finding a hotel to accommodate all of us Gabriel was a great help getting us all a room during this challenging moment

Everyone at this hotel was fantastic and so helpful If I am ever back in the area I will be sure to stay there again Thank You so much!!!

This home2 has very friendly staff, a shuttle that starts at 710 am Every time I return to Dallas for extended trips, I try to book this hotel because it’s run quite well You can’t beat having a kitchenette and grocery stores nearby that the shuttle can take you to

Ty, Hana, and the other front desk staff do a great job Highly efficient and go above and beyond to meet requests The shuttle drivers are timely and hard working Ulysses makes shuttle rides fun Great driver, conversationIt’s always nice to see hotels that still have great service— somewhat hard to find these daysI’m pretty confused by the negative reviews You’re staying at a Home2 not a Waldorf AstoriaI travel a lot for work, and this home2 is a 10/10 for service, cleanliness, shuttle Thank you home2!

Definitely not impressed at all with this H2S location I’m 75+ nights per year with Hilton and this is one of the weaker locations which I have patronizedI spent one evening at this location as I was participating in an endurance race the next morning and wanted a full size refrigerator and freezer

The exterior of the dishwasher was completely disgusting There is no way I would use the dishes inside There was a dirty knife in the sink when I checked in The headboard had a very interesting substance caked on one end Let your mind wanderThe shower basin was nor secured to the floor and would flex when you stood on the end farthest from the shower headDefinitely the most disappointing Hilton experience this year

Cyn J

I have stayed here a few times I think my favorite feature is the elevator with glass walls I rarely see these elevators at long-term stay oriented hotels, so it was a very nice addition

The hotel is showing some signs of aging, but nowhere near enough to negatively impact a stay They also have an airport shuttle and are within walking distance (10 minute walk max) of multiple restaurants and Walmart Depending on the room, some are larger than others and more conducive to family stays The queen room can fit 3 comfortably, 4 would be a bit crowded

I would definitely recommend this hotel!! The room was clean, big, bed was comfortable, shower water was hot and the breakfast was good There should have been more options but it was good The staff was nice, professional, and helpful

Housekeeping cleaned my room while I was gone and that was amazing!! I stay in different hotels each week that I’m in Dallas and this is the first hotel that cleaned my room since Covid

Deanna Swenson

Disappointed with Hotel considering it is a Hilton chain Room was very hot when we arrived & never cooled off Hotel was tidy but hallways & elevators had trash scattered in areas

Only 2 wash cloths in a room Location was great & front desk help was very kind & welcoming Arrived after 10 pm so we didn’t request help with air conditioning Thought it might cool off but never did Didn’t sleep well in the hot room

Eman Sherif

My stay here was amazing! The rooms are clean, the area is quiet, and the view wasn’t bad at all! The hallways are kinda humid, and only one elevator operates The breakfast was okay, and it was nice because it was a free all you can eat buffet in the lobby from 5am to 10am In conclusion, I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Dallas!!
