This is a cheap motel

I don’t understand why people expect something great from cheap rates I came in hoping for an early check it because I was too tired to drive I was graciously accepted and given a room to my needs It was clean even though dates and many things needed replaced These things didn’t matter to me The rate was reflective of what you should get This is a place for convenience, not being pampered There were no bugs and the beds were comfortable That’s plenty enough for me

Miranda Strelcheck

Date of stay: 04/27/22-04/28/22Would rate a zero if I could Beds were HORRID AND UNCOMFORTABLEThere wall a hole in the wall Only one pillow in a double bed room(they didn’t have any more) sink was disgusting

Looked like it was moldy I didn’t dare shower, there was weird hair in the drain No coffee pot Weird stains all over the floor Barely any breakfast It included” gravy” and no biscuits, cereal, and bagels Overall, very unsettling and would not recommend to my greatest enemy Will be contacting corporate when I get home F####ing disgrace

Amanda Drury

Pool was not cleaned n ready for guest even for the big 4th of July weekend 😡 Used 💉 needles found on steps leading to 2nd floor!!😳😳 And a brown💩 stain on back of toilet seat!!! 😱🤮🤮🤮 WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN WOULDN’T EVEN SEND HOMELESS THERE TO STAY NO ONE DESERVES THAT KIND OF NASTYNESS EVER FOR THE PRICE I PAID

I GIVE THEM A -1 👎👎👎👎👎

I’ll be honest, I visited this hotel a few years ago and the experience was not great So when my husband booked it for a weekend trip, I didn’t say anything but I was prepared to be underwhelmed I was so wrong! They have done some major updating and remodeling since I was last there

The room was spotless and quiet We couldn’t even tell there were other guests on the floor until we met them at the elevator The bath was well stocked and hospital clean We had great water pressure and plenty of hot water The bed was super comfy! Every staff member was kind, gracious and helpful We were very impressed Staying here really made our short trip a pleasure

Lance Bryant

Absolutely horrible experience I was actually very pleased at first, until learning the AC in my room wasn’t working At that point, we mentioned it nicely, left for 2 hours, and when we returned were offered either a “25% off, or get the hell out

”No maintenance staff, no care from the owner about forcing paying customers from out of town to sleep in an 85 degree room It would have been a pleasant experience if they could have either fixed the AC or provided us a room with working AC, but since they failed to do that basic thing, 1 star is what they get I’d recommend if they let you check the AC before paying 😂

Modesty Freeman

The room was nice That’s not my complaint at all, but oh my lord We had THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE come to our room

They messed up and gave someone else a key to our room So we had a literal stranger just walk into our room that we paid for Then the front desk lady came to tell us checkout was at 11 am because she thought we were guests from the previous night who hadn’t checked out Not too big of a deal Well come the day of checkout the freaking cleaning ladies knock to ask us when we’re checking out Checkout isn’t until 11 am ma’am & it’s only 9 am Don’t stay here if you wanna enjoy your stay

Overall good The rooms have a microwave and mini fridge Clean beds! Good breakfast selection

Coffee, tea and oatmeal 24/7! Welcome cookies are a great touch!-We got were supposed to be non-smoking, only one was, they attempted to cover the smell, but we sprayed also and toughed it out-Thought there was a hot tub, but there isn’t +Pool is small, but nice!-They have laundry, but don’t count on detergent being stocked, gas station was also out+Service was great, friendly and helpful staff!+Located right off 54, next to a BBQ restaurant and gas station, pretty convenient!++They patched the road while we were there, so that was good, it needed it

I think this will be the first time I rated a hotel one star This hotel has so much potential But with all great hotels it start with the staff

I noticed that whenever there are no guest at the counter the staff is on chill mode, basically out of sightThe hotel first appearance leaves a lot to be desired Dead bugs at the entry door and on the floors throughout the hotel The entry appears to not have been swept in a few days as well as the hallways in the hotel The desk staff may need to pitch in since they have so much downtime, with keeping the entry and lobby clean and inviting I understand that their are staffing issues globallyThe gym and pool looked kept from a distance My room and several of my peers said their rooms smelled like mildew Pulling up the carpet will help cut down on the smell The desk staff was very friendly but again a little bit of initiative goes a long way Almost every time I walked past the desk it was deserted Come out from the back and tidy up a bit, it is not that much paperwork going on because the hotel is basically empty

Mary M

I don’t think that I’ve ever rated a hotel one star but unfortunately this hotel get one star The desk clerk appears to hide every time there is no one checking in, basically in the back on chill modeThe hotel needs some sprucing up at the entrance on a regular basis, the staff should come from hiding in the back and help keep the lobby and entry into the hotel presentable

I understand there is a staffing shortage but this is where a little initiative goes a long wayThe staff was very friendly I did not use the gym and the pool but from a distance it appeared to be well kept My cohorts and I had a similar observation, and that was the room smell like mildew I’m certain this is because of the air condition running continuously and carpet holds smell They should pull up the carpet, that is one way to cut down on the odor I am a little bit disappointed that this Baymont holds on to the Wyndham name but does not hold up to the standards I have stayed at other Baymont and they were pretty descent

The hotel was relatively spotless and beautiful! We got a suite and it was nice and comfortable Plenty big for the 3 of us! Beds were comfortable The water pressure in the shower was less than great

Staff was super helpful and friendly! We didn’t visit the pool or hot tub The location of the hotel was on the other side of town from our “hotspots” but after a couple days, we found a better route to take But very nice hotel We would stay here again!

Mable Britt

My room was immaculate, the decor was luxurious, the location was nicely situated, and the staff was friendly but my MOST favorite part of my stay so far has been how accessible everything is! Easy thresholds with minimal bumps and even a accessible lift for the pool I don’t use a wheelchair but I try to note these things and call them out when I see them Good job Holiday Inn & Suites

Tia Smith

I stayed last night at the Holiday Inn Jefferson City for a State training My initial stay was for two nights Check in was fine – hotel appearance was good along with the room

Woke up this morning had coffee and was preparing for my day when I noticed a bug in the bed near the pillows I took a picture of the bug I gathered my things, immediately showered, and headed downstairs to check out I informed the 2 front desk staff I was checking out due to what I discovered that morning I showed both staff the picture Another staff member came to the desk and I was asked to show them the picture as well They apologized and I was handed the receipt No other options where provided to rectify the situation (changing rooms or compensating for the stay) The local health department was notified as there is potential for public health concern There are no doubts that the hotel will quickly address the issue with the room to prevent further problems to any other guests Customer service was a drawback only in regards to the above issue; therefore, one star was given for the stay

While the property was clean and the staff was helpful, the property owners seem to be more focused on cutting corners in the rooms than on guest comfort The room was small and furnished with a hodgepodge of outdated furniture that was beat up, a desk fit for a child and the smallest TV I’ve seen at any hotel, let alone a Marriott branded property, in a ;long time There was absolutely no artwork on the walls and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and sagged as if they were 5+ years old

If they were going for that “dorm room” feel they accomplished their goal! Not sure if this was a super old Fairfield design or if Marriott purchased the property and remade it into a Fairfield Either way it is one of the more disappointing hotels I’ve stayed at in years and not fitting of the Marriott brand

Upon check-in, we were given keys to a room not ready As in food boxes on the table, bed linens in a ball on the bed and towels on the floor Went back downstairs and was given another room

So all good Then came back to the room at 10pm after a function and we were locked out of the second room Went downstairs and the lady at the desk got defensive – first said she didn’t know what happened as she just came on, and then proceeded to tell me it was my fault No apology and as I was walking away, she is literally griping about me to whoever was hanging out in the room behind the desk that didn’t come out when I came down Also clean bathroom floors should not be sticky Would not recommend

I wanted a cheap room but I looked at the reviews and saw they had a 39 that’s pretty decent The room is large has a queen size bed

Full size fridge and microwave Interior is dated but that does not really bother me What I really liked was that they have complimentary shampoo and conditioner I’ve stayed in a few hotels and this is something that seems to be going away Since I’m traveling by motorcycle don’t really have space to carry a bunch of stuff and having free soap and shampoo really matters to me Bed was comfy and had like 6 pillows on it Made a pillow fort to block the sun Loved my stay here

This place needs a true deep clean!!!Not very clean Pretty sure the room we stayed in has Mold in it

The wall paper is peeling When we got into the room it smmelled awful Well the floor was wet So theres your answwerPool os decent Gkad it opened in time

I was in Jefferson City for a close friend’s mother’s funeral service I hadn’t been to the city before but this was one of the hotels that came up when looking for one First off, it was far away from where I needed to go for the service and repass

But didn’t know it at the time My room was dirty and had bugs in it both dead and alive I was so horrified by it that I forgot to take pictures of the bugs There were also spider webs everywhere too The lady at the front desk was able to move me to another room but the tv didn’t work in that room The only nice thing about the hotel was the hot tub Otherwise, it was a disaster Plus, someone threw a drink on my car overnight in the parking lot So I had to wash my car because it was sticky It was a horrible stay and left a bad taste in my mouth Definitely wouldn’t recommend

This past Thursday / Friday, we stayed in the Double Tree Hotel in Jefferson City and our experience was average at best I will have to say that we checked in fairly late Thursday night and the staff member at the desk was the highlight She was welcoming, pleasant and far exceeded our expectations when checking in

The other highlight of the hotel is the location to the Capitol building / downtown area and the view from the 8th floor The hotel is unique compared to almost every other hotel I’ve been to in the Midwest The negatives — the rooms were super small We had a deluxe room with 2 beds and it was barely a regular size hotel room so I can’t even imagine what a standard room would be Breakfast is not included The pool itself was dirty, the hot tub was not working for some reason and even though we went to the pool early in the morning, there were no towels We called the front desk and they said they would tell housekeeping Housekeeping brought 2 towels and said that was all they had available in the entire hotel? So, the 3 of us shared 2 towels Not sure how a hotel could be out of clean towels but I’m sure it happens from time to time The way the towel issue was handled, the lack of cleaning and the hot tub not working did not leave a good impression

Aaron Guseman

Great location close to a variety of restaurants and bars on high street Within walking distance to the capital building and lots of other history locations within Jefferson City Not in the mood to walk, usually a bird scooter nearby to rent

Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable Only downfall was no USB chargers in the rooms, just standard plugs

Jasen Demarchi

Well when you go to a Doubletree/Hilton you usually don’t expect to be put in a room with so many problems the first thing you see coming in the room is the closet doors hanging off the rails, the mirror on the wall is just barely holding on, the heater was falling out the wall , and the paint on the bathroom door was peeling off and hangingOkay now after all that, I decided I would at least say something as to not be charged for any damages to the room So they go ahead and change my room for a different room and charge me for the second room as well , after going back down and pointing out that I have now been charged for not one but two rooms problem now fixed on with my evening only to find out that the restaurant upstairs is closed

finally check out time has come and after everything ask for a receipt only to find out that there has been food charged to the room that I never saw so back to get bill corrected yet again, so now I sit here waiting to see if they correct the 362 dollar difference that somehow was charged to my card for what seems to now be three rooms Needless to say I’m not very happy with my stay at the DoubleTree Hilton Definitely would not recommend it to anyone

The staff appear to be doing their best, and my room was fine, but I was switched to it because my original room wasn’t cleaned despite arriving four hours after check in This switch wasn’t recorded and someone else was given a key card for the same room & we had to let them know it was occupied & to head back to the front desk I also chose this hotel partly due to the free breakfast advertised online, but was told while checking in that it was not being offered due to COVID restrictions that didn’t appear to be followed anywhere else in the building

Renovations were ongoing throughout my stay, the hallway was cluttered with equipment, and we saw carpet being torn out of the lobby on a Saturday morning

Tyler Wells

Worst sleep I’ve had at a hotel I asked to stay on the top floor to avoid noise from the room above me Reception told me no, because the top floor rooms were being renovated

That was not true Person in the room above me made noise all nightAdded a star because staff is nice and the hotel allows dogs

Classy newer hotel overlooking Jefferson City, with a good view of the capital Had to wait quite a while to check in due to computer difficulties The hotel is beautifully set up and everything is well taken care of

It was very clean, except for the public restroom There is a lovely patio out back where you can enjoy the view The rooms were quiet and well set up The bed is against an interior wall, which is a smart design to eliminate chances of noisy neighbors keeping you awake Our room was very warm on arrival and took a couple hours to cool down There was a lot of traffic noise from the busy intersection right next to the hotel Bed and pillows were ultimately comfy No k-cup in room

Gennie Von

The front desk was attentive and kind when we arrivedThe rooms were modern and calming The bathroom was decorated beautifully with automatic lights

The most important part is the quality of sleep The room had a built-in nightlight lining the ceiling and the bed is what you would expect, comfortable This was by far the best hotel I stayed inThe location also has some attractions because of the beautiful architecture: Missouri State Capitol, Governors garden, Katy Trail State Park, etc

Halley N

Stayed two nights for a conference Great view of the Capitol and easy to get into Everything was great as far as hotel experience, despite sharing the hotel with a rowdy basketball tournament

I put an alergy on my food order for the conference and catering staff came and verified the ingredient with me The lobby was a cool common space with so many seating areas and a bar The room was nice with a beautiful walk in shower Paid parking deck next door Only downfall was a lot of ice outside after the storm

We are SO grateful for this hotel Devin, in particular, went above and beyond to help us and make sure we felt welcome, safe, and comfortable He has such a big heart

We are moving from Maryland to Washington, towing a cargo trailer We blew two tires right near the exit by the hotel I called, in desperation, for a friendly voice and help, and he did everything he could to help us I hung up from making the reservation and my kind was put at ease (albeit still waiting on a tow truck on the side of the interstate), knowing we had a great place to go this evening We have our dog and two young children with us and we are so appreciative of his help today He was beyond friendly and accommodating and I hope he knows how much that means on a day like this Thank you!

I was driving back late at night from Florida and first went to Quality Inn right beside this hotel Big mistake ,the room was disgusting and I left immediately Luckily ,this Holiday Inn Suites had rooms left

This place is AWESOME! Everything extremely clean, bright, fresh, looks brand new! It’s worth it to spend a little more for an actual clean and safe hotel Wish I could’ve stayed longer here but I was traveling thru The young male and female staff that checked me in on 7/7 were very nice and friendly and even gave me a free upgrade Breakfast is exceptional also Loved it here and when I pass thru this area again ,I will definitely stay here

Thomas Robinson

Look there’s two kinds of people who visit Kingdom City and need a hotel You’re either a traveler who needed a place to crash between cities or you’re a visitor who didn’t want to travel further along i-70 or one of the highways bisecting Missouri to go somewhere more interesting Either way you’re looking for a hotel with a reasonable price, clean accommodations, and maybe a good place to eat or get a drink before you take off in the morning, right? Well here’s your answer: this hotel is right on par with what you will pay to stay at any CLEAN hotel in the US

It’s not Motel 6, so yes, you’re going to pay a little extra, and in return, you won’t go home with bed bugs, and if you get up in the morning, you get to continue your journey with a hot breakfast in your belly, and if you like to sleep late, well you’ll miss breakfast but they don’t kick you out of the room until at least noon, so go ahead and sleep in The rooms are clean, as you would expect from the Holiday Inn brand The staff is friendly and accommodating, they’ve got a variety of souvenirs and trinkets for sale in addition to their fully stocked sundry shop, and if they don’t have what you’re looking for, the gift shop next door at Ozarkland has something for everybody They have EV charging stations for your electric vehicle (yes you can park and use them overnight, and yes, there’s plenty of them), and if you need liquid dinosaur, there’s a big gas station right next door too with prices where you expect them as well All things considered, this is actually a really nice hotel with modern amenities and it deserves THIS honest review

Pros:The hotel room offered all of the usual amenitiesVery cleanSuper comfy beds & pillows

Great water pressure in the showerConvenient locationAmple parkingDelicious breakfast & coffee bar in the atrium lobbyCons:Outdated & many essential functions of the room were in disrepair; chief among them, was the AC system Thankfully, our window openedThe website advertises its pool; however, it was closed No mention of this at time of booking, nor at time of checking in This is a key amenity & as such, should be properly disclosedOn Thursday 03/03/2022, we approached the front desk, for a polite simple request, for an item our friend dropped off The desk clerk was working by herself She was quite short with us Later this same day, our in-room iron was not working We called the front desk asking for a replacement iron; this same desk staff member answers & provides us with this same attitude (For context, we had zero prior negative interactions, we were very polite, said please & thank you to the staff member, etc) I’m one to empathize, as maybe the staff member was having a bad day, or stressed from being short handed on staff?Overall, a decent stayI’m providing three stars; we had a clean comfy room, simple enough Knocked off a couple stars, for the aforementioned issues

I attended a convention and the staff was very attentive When requests were made they were very accommodating There were a few minor maintenance issues that were addressed very quickly, in many cases almost immediately

Exceeding my expectations based on other hotels Although the pool and waterfall weren’t working our group didn’t really have lots of extra time

One of the worst experience I have ever had Our room had no power The lights started flickering when we first got into the room within an hour of being we had zero power and the hotel did nothing to accommodate us

We were suppose to have adjoining rooms didn’t happen The over look of the Hotel is NOT what you see online… The front door to the Hotel doesn’t work… It dirty… The fountain in the main area broken doesn’t work The pool was closed and they didn’t inform us of that until we got there Most of the staff was rude (Terry) and didn’t care we didn’t have power… Worst experience ever Please save you’re money go somewhere else

This was a few overnights for a business trip The location was fantastic, just west of the city (lower room taxes also) with easy access to US50 The hotel was super clean, modern and quiet

Being a Hilton Honors Gold member, Regina at the desk upgraded me (Thank you Regina) to 317 Nice large room, mini fridge and microwave, cold AC and super comfortable king bed The morning breakfast was great, eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage as well as waffles, oatmeal, toast, bagels, cereals, large selection of fresh fruit (both cut/mixed and whole to go) The orange juice tasted like orange juice (I’ve been places it tastes nasty, just horrible) All the staff I spoke with were very polite and friendly! Housekeeping did an amazing job this Hilton property ranks in the top of my ‘will stay again’ locations Everything was clean and worked as it should, no funny smells either Great job!!!
