CARS AND BARS – Joshua Williams

The staff is courteous The room was clean The beds are a little harder than my liking

I woke up with a stiff upper back as a result The rooms are not very sound proof We could easily hear the TV in the room next to us both through the wall and in the hallway and they didn’t have the volume turned up very high You cannot have the fan blowing constantly on the HVAC So, if you like moving air while sleeping, you need to bring a fan Also, the breakfast ran out of protein an hour before breakfast was supposed to be done for the day Staff finally got some more in the warmer about 15-20 minutes later If I could give 35 stars I would However, if I had to recommend this hotel, I still would

Sue Peters

I have stayed at this particular hotel before and never had a problem However, the room I had this time had very cold-looking bright lightbulbs that were not at all condusive to winding down before bed THEN when I turned off the light before putting my head down, I realized that the nice light-blocking shade leaked the light from the outside spotlight that was trained directly on my window so every time I turned over I thought it was daylight

That sucked

The two most important things to me when looking for a place to stay are price and cleanliness This motel hit the mark! It was the cheapest place I’ve stayed at in years and yet cleaner than most The owner was so kind

even when we arrived after midnight We all slept well and would absolutely stay here again if we were in the area They are also pet friendly The Hampton wanted $75 for our dog to stay one night She charged me a fraction of that Don’t be afraid to stay here just because it’s not a name-branded business Support local and stay here

We have stayed here a few times when we come back to Burlington Always seem to have a good stay Always have had nice polite service

Hotel seems clean and well kept My only complaint is the beds are just standard hotel beds I would pay a little more for a nicer bed They have a nice breakfast I was up and gone both days before breakfast so I can’t say but the kids didn’t complain Said it had waffles to take on the go stuff

Sue Gardner

Overall, if there was a way to give 45 stars I probably wouldStayed here: 4/24/22 – 4/26/22LOCATION: The hotel is located back off the road and away from all of the traffic noise so we really liked this

DECOR: The entrance to the hotel has wide planked flooring and a sitting area with a fire place and there is a breakfast room that has barn doors – looks like it has been recently updatedCHECK IN: We had a 35 hour drive so we were tired and weren’t sure if we would be able to check in as we arrived before the normal check in time The receptionist was very helpful as we were in Burlington, IA for a family reunion and other family members had already checked in She read the notes that we were light sleepers and found us rooms near the other members of our family that were clean and available Thank you so much for being so accomodating!THE ROOM: The room was actually quite large & very clean – the most important thing When you enter, there was a bathroom off to the left and then there was an area with a couch that was separated from the bedroom area by a short pony wall This was nice as I usually get up early so I didn’t bother my husband as much There was a refrigerator, small microwave and a nice size tv The closet was pretty large too The beds were very comfortable but there were 4 smaller pillows and I wished there had been just 2 larger pillows The entrance to the bathroom did have a broken tile and it was weird when you stepped on it (Rm 209) The 1st night was quiet but the 2nd night there was a couple of semi trucks that parked out front on roadway and they left their rigs running all night so we didn’t sleep well Our family members had a room that faced the back side of the hotel and there was a pond so if you are a light sleeper I would suggest requesting a room on back side & away from elevatorsAMENITIES: There was a fairly large indoor pool that looked nice but we were too busy to go swimming even though we brought suits There was also a work out room with weight equipment I also saw there was a business center with one computer where you could look up things or print airline info etcBREAKFAST BUFFET: This was such a nice surprise We went down for breakfast the 1st morning and were greeted by the nicest woman – she was so welcoming! She showed us all around the breakfast buffet so we knew where everything was The had a juice machine with orange juice & apple juice, coffee, there was yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, waffles that you can make (cinnamon waffles were fantastic), omelettes, sausages, cereals, muffins, and different types of breads/bagels We didn’t notice in our room the 1st night that we only had one regular coffee and the rest were decaf so we asked if we could have some regular coffee for our room and were gladly provided with the coffee I wished I could remember this woman’s name as she was so wonderful that I would come back just because of her hospitality!CHECK OUT: Checking out was a breeze All we did was give the front desk our room cards and we were told we were good to go

We were in town visiting local residents Although we did not stay at the hotel we were able to use the indoor pool with the monthly passes they sell to residents What a terrific idea! I commend their good business sense in making the pool more widely available

The pool room was spacious and the pool large We also met the owner who was very pleasant and professional to work with If we did not already have accommodations arranged through the family we visited, I would have liked to stay here and see more of the hotel and what it has to offer

Chris d’Aquin

The staff makes this hotel great! We had a large group stay 2 nights and every experience I had with the staff was top notch They were attentive, helpful, professional, and courteous They did their best to help us out, even if it meant resorting to unusual solutions

For instance, we traveled 24 straight hours by charter bus and arrived in Nauvoo at lunchtime Our group spent the rest of the day touring the town and watching the Pageant that night Going back to the hotel, we were looking forward to taking showers and getting a good night’s rest It was after 10 pm and we had been hot and sweaty all day! When we arrived, we found out the city’s water line had broken and there wouldn’t be any water for several hours until the repairs were done The hotel staff re-opened the pool to let guests take a quick dip if they wanted It didn’t replace having a shower, but it sure felt great anyway!

michelle parnes

Booked for 5 people, got 2 queen size beds, and we brought a cot instead of borrowing a roll away (as they weren’t guaranteed) Plenty of space even with the cot set up The room was very dark, even with the lights on

Hairdryer didn’t work Advertised a restaurant but it was closed while we were there Parking is great and location is great! Beds were very firm but comfortable We were there after pageant season, so it was really quiet, very few people Laundry room available, for $100/dryer and $150/wash AC worked great Cleaning staff, very friendly Wifi was spotty

Dirty room, musty, mold/mildew on ac unit turned wash cloth black Shower not cleaned, found hair and soap residue Sink same thing, hair and particles

Desk hair is dirty Fridge not cold It’s hard to breath I’m glad I have a cpap machine because this room is too much for my allergies Only thing I can think is they tried to speed clean with fresh towels, maybe bedding (yet to be inspected), all because the rest of town is booked If I could leave now and get another room I would Even at $200 or $300 for the night My health is worth it to me

While it was fun to stay in a historic building so close to the temple, the furnishings and upkeep was lacking We stayed in a three bed, room 203, I believe, and it had all sorts of issues The bathroom door wouldn’t latch, single ply TP, mismatched curtains, doorknobs

Even though the pandemic is largely over (we hope) they still do not service the room during your stay With three children and four adults on a three night stay, the room was a mess! They did come and vacuum and empty the garbage on requestWe loved the location and charm, however, management needs to put more effort into upkeep and service

Sadie McCracken

Booked this hotel because it looked like it had a great ambiance and a great view of the temple We got there and our room was very spacious, which was a plusWe were disappointed that our view of the temple was visible through only one of five windows or by going out to the balcony

It was also obstructed by some buildings and trees Even more so, our windows were COVERED in huge spiders and spider webs, and going out to the balcony wasn’t much better This should probably be addressedIt’s also pretty difficult to get help from anyone there We noticed that we weren’t given shampoo in our room, so we waited until the front desk was open (they have limited hours) After standing at the open desk for a few minutes, someone finally called someone else to help us They got shampoo for us whilst telling us that we were also at fault for “forgetting” shampoo Definitely more of an inconvenience than I would have hoped forSome other minor things we noticed: front door would hardly close unless it was locked, no cable, no amenities, shower pressure wasn’t working (sounds like it was going to explode every time you moved it to hot)Hotel had a great ambiance and was a great location, though Make sure you do your research on places to eat and when!

This immaculately clean hotel was a pleasant place to spend a couple of days near nauvoo Illinois, historical pioneer village They serve a delicious breakfast, our room was well accommodated and spacious If I were managing it I might suggest that the hot tub be 5° cooler, and the swimming pool be 5° warmer

Basically a reasonably priced, and perfect place to stay if you are in this area

Elisha Clark

The pool was clean The front desk staff was rude, and disrespectful to not only the people in my group, but every customer I saw her interact with She neglected to replenish towels in a timely matter

She was rude to the children in our group, (who were NOT being disrespectful), and could barely offer basic human decency to the customers Brianna was not a good representation of the hotel

Gabriel Ammerman

So many things wrong with place starting with them disabling our room keys twice! 2 nights we would get back to our room around 11 at night to be locked out of our rooms because they had our keys checked out 3 days early Then we’d have to wait 30-40 minutes in lobby to get our keys switched back on Miserable experience

A few other problems we occurred was peeling wallpaper everywhere we went, a destroyed tile floor in our bathroom, non-working phones in our room, and a tv/ and remote that did not work together to name a few The only redeeming quality this place possibly has is a decent bed, and a pool and hot tub I would highly recommend staying elsewhere if possible as this company should Change its name to “Poor Quality Inn” Loved the vacation, hated the stay

We stayed over the weekend and had little reservation mix up At first they were going to pay for a room at another hotel and we were fine with that We left and went to the dollar store

Just as we were about to leave the dollar store the manager came in the store to let us know she had found our reservation and even gave us an upgrade We were stoked Mary that worked the breakfast Cafe was awesome and we enjoyed talking to her in the mornings We ended up staying an extra day to enjoy the amenities and continental breakfast We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Keokuk

tony thacher (TonyTiger67)

Still here and so far so good Well except that I kinda locked the keys in the van but the hotel is very nicely positioned in the Walmart parking lot So I am outside in the middle of the night waiting for AAA to arrive

The hotel management has not complained about this one bit Everything is well kept, clean and looks like new The reason we are here is because my granddaughter wanted to swim for her birthday and she is having a great time I have stayed in other hotels/ motels in the vicinity and by far this place is the best I do recommend you stay here if given the opportunity or choice

We arrived fairly late around 9:30 pm Front desk was very quick to get us all checked into a room which was very reasonablly priced for a king bed room Room was very clean and the only complaint I have about the whole experience is the room was rather warm, around 80-85 degrees and took an hour or so to cool down but outside of that it was a great facility and would return again and recommend to my family and friends

I will go e it 45 stars Thanks

laura garland

If I could give it zero stars I would The manager is a crook!!! She started banging on our door at 8am saying she could smell smoke coming from our room in the hallway My boyfriend is a truck driver and we stay in hotels from time to time and have never had this happen

She then went and immediately charged me $200 even though there was no smell or proof we smoked She was rude, talked over me and ignored me DO NOT STAY HERE!!!She lives in one of the rooms and goes around trying to find anything she can get away with to get more money! She does not belong in the hospitality industry!!

We rented 4 rooms for us and our workers no where on web site said they was pet friendly we had a big dog next door to us, no advice we are just not dog people The rooms was damp feeling and smelled our window was unlocked the first night before we noticed it and would not lock either we had to find a stick to put in it All the entryway going in out of the building would not lock so anyone could just walk in at anytime without using a card to get in building, the only door that would lock they kept a rock in it so it would stay open

When we turned down our bed that first night there was hair all over our bedMy advice is don’t stay there if you don’t have to Very nasty and stinks if you do bring your own towels and bedding and a big can of LysolI noticed on all comments they only reply on the good oneI can not even give it a one star Very bad

Lynette Jackson

The price was super cheap, so we expected some kind of red flag, but our stay was fantastic!!! We even moved the beds at one point, and it was clean under the bed as well!!! The owners were super sweet and accommodating, and they always were there to answer any questions, and when they were gone, they left a phone # to call and were super responsive Definitely recommend you go Make sure to always where shoes or slippers especially in the bathroom because it has a hard time drying out due to the humidity

We loved it!
