We have been traveling up and down between Pennsylvania and Florida for the past 2 during the pandemic staying overnight in at least 10 different hotelsIt would be very easy for me to say that this was by far the best stay we have experience! We would not change a thing The room was clean and had a nice aroma to it

When we arrived the staff was courteous and helpful at all times and the best part of it was the breakfast was the best breakfast since the pandemic began! Will definitely stay here again next time

Kindly asking to provide him with a maskOther than that, the receptionist was a smiley polite and competent personThe flower decor is nice!

I had a great experience at this hotel The room was exceptionally clean as was the rest of the hotel Even with 2 weddings and staying on a designated pet-friendly floor, we did not hear anything from our room and had a most comfortable stay

The staff was friendly and more than willing to do a little housekeeping upon request during our stay! We will 100% consider staying again in the future Thank you to the staff at The Hotel for a wonderful and welcoming stay Hands down one of the top hotels in the area for the price

Shannel D. K.

I am at this hotel a few times a year for business meetings Absolutely beautiful, staff are always pleasant Usually I stay with my sister or son when I come back to Maryland however I have this on my list of places to stay

Sorry I can not speak on the rooms Location is absolutely wonderful as well You have any and everything you need in close proximity

Dan S

Really nice place and the woman at the front desk was very nice and lovely With that said, I am only giving 4 stars because it is 4 days after our stay and my $50 room security deposit has still not been refunded Will change review once I receive that money back

***edit: after one week I received it back so am changing to 5 stars

Great location and charming historic hotel We had use of the hospitality room (wonderful) and patio, but the lights out on the patio weren’t working, so dark at night The beds were great, but there were very few electrical outlets in our room room (overlooking the ballroom) and it was very dark since it wasn’t open to direct sunlight

The hair dryer was old and didn’t get hot, and there wasn’t any body lotion in the bathroom Beware of the bath tub/shower — there are no rubber mats and you can easily slip Also, no room service unless you stay 4 nights or more

Rachel

The Governor Calvert Inn is a wonderful, historic hotel with great customer service It definitely is worth calling for reservations instead of using the online booking system, since we were able to get a great deal on the King Balcony room with a spectacular view of the State House and downtown Annapolis My mom and I both have limited mobility right now, and Will and David were such a huge help in valeting the car and getting our bags to our room, really going above and beyond in their kindness!

I’m not sure about pets, but they are NOT kid friendly We heard babies crying at 6am and we never said a word, naturally because it is a hotel and people come with their families However, we received 2 complaints in the middle of the afternoon (12:30 and 3:45) when our 3 and 4 year old were laughing and playing in the comfort of the room that we paid for

Not in the hallway, not in the lobby, but in our room We received a call with someone on the other end saying, “can you keep your kids quiet?” When we expressed concerns about this and how the stay was uncomfortable for us, we were told that there are pilots trying to get some sleep When I checked out and again expressed my concern to one of the representatives behind the desk, another woman (not a manager) stood beside her and tried to justify the calls by stating, “we have other paying customers too” I quickly dismissed her and pointed out that it was one of me and two of them and I will finish my discussion with the person that I started my conversation with (which happened to be understanding regarding my complaint) I asked for the manager, who was unavailable on a Monday afternoon, and I left a voicemail with no call back or resolve We also had a teenager who asked to use the pool but was told that it was closed, only to see that it was open for other guests Pick another hotel if you have a family, especially if you have small children The patience and service is less than desirable, to say the leastUpdate…the manager called me back He was apologetic and very professional We received a discount for our trouble and appreciate the response and resolve

Beautiful hotel Great location for my work trip As others have mentioned, walls and doors do not filter sound at all

Normal conversations are heard 3 rooms away Next door room sounds like they are leaning against the wall while talking on the phone This is just normal conversations!!!!! Every door closer is not set properly, so every door slams closed… you can barely prevent it if you are trying to be considerate I’m a big strong guy and those closers would be horrible for a child, handicapable person… Won’t be back

Ellah

Customer service was questionable at first Upon checking in, I stood and waited for the front desk person to acknowledge me for what felt like 5 minutes while talking to a a co-workerBesides that, my hotel experience was pretty good

It was a quick one night stay for work The room was clean and so was the bathroom The decor is fun and modern and location was perfect for what I needed!Disclaimer: if you’re looking for a relaxing hotel for a getaway or staycation if sorts, I would not recommend as it was pretty loud and had tons of kids and families Which isn’t a bad thing of course, but if you want quiet, I would look elsewhere I agree with the other reviewers stating that the walls are pretty thinAll in all, I would visit again

First off the app allowed me the option to quickly check in and checkout I loved the digital key feature on the app which allowed me to unlock the room door The hotel lobby was clean, the staff was friendly and the rooms were very nice

The room had hanging curtains that allowed you the option to divide the room The room had a kitchen with a standard size refrigerator, sink, dishwasher, large microwave, dishes and utensils You could even request a hot plate burner at the front desk if you wanted to cook I will definitely stay at the Home2 Suites by Hilton again

Kevin Monaghan

We cancelled a stay at another area location and chose this one instead The rooms are clean and comfortable and we experienced the front desk staff to be friendly and engaging Joy, in particular, is a true blessing and went above and beyond what could be reasonably expected at check-in to resolve a separate issue for us

She is terrific Travelling with a pet for the first time, we found this easy and convenient and the hotel is remarkably quiet, given it’s pet friendly policy Will definitely be back

Luke K

Amazing hotel with a great staff! The breakfast bar was always well stocked Rooms were spotless The rooms are well thought out – all of them have a fridge, microwave, and dishwasher

You can request an induction plate from the front desk In addition, they have a great patio space with built in grills! One of the best hotels I have been to!

Average stay, average hotel Average breakfast Hot shower even though the water pressure would change while I was in the shower

Most hotels that I’ve stayed at have black out curtains , this one did not There were rooms available but at first I wasn’t all able to check in early After 15 hours I was allowed I’ve always been able to check in early ( I’m a night nurse) Otherwise I liked how close it was to stores and restaurants

Dana Plummer

We were treated with great respect and professionalism”Tanisha” was exceptionally good at taking care of our room as well as kindly attending to our needs for fresh towels She should train others to be kind, caring, respectful, and professional hotel housekeepers

The front desk was warmly inviting and helpful to usThe building was clean and organizedWe were very impressed with the Morning Breakfast and The Cafe AreaKeep up the GREAT WORK!❤ HOPEFULLY,WE WILL BE BACK!GOD BLESS YOU!

Cheryll Fleming

The rooms were updated and very clean They were a little small so with luggage for just two people it felt cramped The microwave, fridge and coffee maker were newer models

The front desk clerks were very helpful I asked for a fork since our delivery didn’t include one and he had no problem giving us 2 plastic forks I also asked for late checkout which was accommodated with no issue The hotel is close to shopping, food and a cinema I would stay here again

This hotel was disgusting They must be paying for the good reviews We are IHG Gold Members and have never stayed at a hotel as gross as this

Was told by reservations that it was recently renovated but the hotel employees said it was not We were given a ground floor room and left after finding red stains on the mattress We were given a VIP room and that too was gross Never stay here! Would post pics but can’t figure out how

Alabama Zephyr

Hotel appears to be an older one and need a renovation noted mold all over the tile grout in the bathroom so proper maintenance has not been being done The staff at this location are absolutely wonderful! They are the reason for the three stars because they are what really make this location Other than the staff the rooms are mediocre and like I said in need of renovation

The on-site restaurant is a joke the menu is very limited and they don’t serve anything that looks remotely like any of the photographs on Google Maps for the restaurant LOL having said all that the worst thing about this location is its location It is impossible to get to this Holiday Inn that sits on the corner of an intersection from two sides there’s only one entrance that you can use and if you’re coming from the wrong direction particularly if you’re headed north you’re going to have to go somewhere and make a U-turn and then backtrack to be able to get to an entrance for this hotel Noting that I won’t ever stay here again as there are a couple of other Holiday Inns just down the road that are a lot easier to get in and out of Of course just visiting the area I had no idea that it would be such a hassle so I’m leaving this review in hopes it helps someone else in their decision making

Jeff Jack

I love to stay here food is great Has bar to Gets full fast so make a reservation

I am back in jessup MD tonight and it’s always a pleasure to see Carmen he does a great job at front desk and I’m definitely happy to see Dewayne working because he always helps me with everything Tonight I was having trouble trying to print something off the computer and Dewayne saved me again Thanks you Dewayne for your hard work and patience with your guest!!!! Enjoying a cold beverage that Franklin served me staff is àwsome!!!

I was disappointed because I requested a ground floor 2 bedroom suite over two weeks ago, because I had my 101 year old aunt with me I had to get a 2 bedroom suite upstairs and that meat my 101 year old aunt had to climb all 15 + steps She did it but it was bit much for her

They offered me two studios on the first floor to separate us but I told her noAfter I took the suite upstairs my vacation went wellThis place is very nice, just wished they were more accommodating for older adults especially if you requested the accommodations ahead of timeBreakfast was delicious Room was great, beds were very comfortable

Tope Alake

Positives: The studio suite was very spacious with a comfortable sofa, large working table, and nice dining area It is well equipped with cooking utensils and a nice kitchen You can cook comfortably if you want

The room is large enough for a group of four Even though the breakfast options are limited, you can take your food to your room to eat later Brown envelopes and foil wraps provided make it easy to do soNegatives: The toilet was clogged, when I called to report it and I was asked to come and pick a plunger from the front desk to fix it myself! How awful Housekeeping is not everyday The towels and bedsheet are rough and old It would have been better if the sheets were ironed There was a thick cobweb by the entrance of the studio suit I stayed in Cleaning is not properly done Breakfast options limited

My room has not disappointed I reserved a room with a jacuzzi in it and the room is very roomy with a comfortable sofa and a nice little area with a fridge and microwave The disappointing part is the lack of cutlery and dishware

There are paper plates and plastic utensils which is better than all of the suites I have stayed in for the past 2 yearsMy favorite aspect is the very large walk in closet I absolutely love thisCost is very reasonable for a room as clean and spacious as this one I would definitely stay here again!

Carolyn Lilly

This was my 1st time staying here I was attending a concert, didn’t want to drive on due to late hour

Beautiful hotel, awesome suite w/ very comfortable beds I slept like a baby😂Love the living & kitchen area Due to the late hour, we couldn’t be seated in a restaurant We had to do take out, so the kitchen area was very helpful Next morning before check out the complementary breakfast was very good 😋

The check in process is very quick and efficient Once I realized that I forgot to request wheelchair accessible room for my mother, they quickly change the room for us and meet us at the door to swap keys The room is clean, the A/C is not too loud, and the water pressure is great

The only downside is that the TV is rather small compared to other Hilton hotels imo

Jane Horton

Posting a review just to sing the praises of the lady who was working in the breakfast area on Saturday 4th June Didn’t get her name but she had long black and green hair And she was possibly the best person we have ever encountered working in the hospitality industry

She was super polite, nothing was too much trouble Such a nice person

Lauren

This was a last minute booking for the holiday weekend but overall this is not a hotel I’d recommend in the area Closer to 2 stars They left a completely untrained person at the front desk ALONE for check-in during Memorial Day weekend

She wasn’t comfortable enough to get the rooms in Line out the door Certainly couldn’t figure out late check in Room smelled like cigarettes and the toilet stopped worked several times The next day we called several times to request late checkout and no one at hotel picked up When I went and found the manager, Kristy, and asked for late checkout was told no I Asked if we could pay an additional fee for the extra hour Was told that she’d call the police and have us forcibly removed? What kind of reaction or customer service is this? Spend a little extra and stay at a different property

It’s a decent and affordable hotel, not the caliber that would be my first preference however Rooms were clean, staff was professional Ashanti was exceptional! Our couches had stains, no big deal

They accommodated us when our AC unit was broken Continental breakfast, beautiful lobby Why three stars? Called our last night to simply request if it was possible for a late checkout Carl, the night attendant responds, “No” and after a brief silence says “no, no, no we are already booked, no” as though I was being scolded and he was aggravated about receiving the same request from other guests Poor customer service and soft skills When I was asked to sign a contract at check-in promising no parties and loud music and given a parking permit stating take all valuables out the car, that told me all I needed to know about the environment, the people that stay there and what staff has to deal with Nevertheless, that doesn’t exonerate staff from treating guests like second class nuances Do better Carl

Michelle

Long but thorough!…Staff: EXCELLENT WonderfulCustomer Service Honestly best staff experience I’ve ever had…and I’ve stayed at lots of hotels, some very high end

They go above and beyond, even for my kids! So friendly!Breakfast: FABULOUS spread Had sausage, was only lacking bacon 😂 tons of choices and on the go options too Not skimping with generics, either EGGS MADE WITH CHEESE…Need I say more?!Room: No complaints about cleanliness; AC DEF WORKS! 😉 Housekeeping is nice, helpful and efficient when needed Comfy bed and pillows! And of course, the suite factor with a sectioned off living space + kitchenette is clutchPool & hot tub: Fine, does the trick Could use more seating and keeping up with stock of available “pooltowels” on a shelving unit, but that’s ok Can get loud, but that’s to be expected if an indoor poolFree (soft) chocolate chip cookies at the front desk, GOOD COFFEE always hot and available, easy parking… what else can I say?PS “The Green Turtle Bar & Grill” is an easy, short walk and fantastic food! Menu and food quality much better than any typical sports bar!

Deborah Sanchez

So my family and I needed a 2 night stay the price was more than I’d like but it was a weekend so 340 is about average The room was accommodating but there were plenty of noticeable stains on the mattresses and sheets

There is a complimentary breakfast but the Waffles were all burnt and stuck together in the plastic The milk was going bad because it was being held at a warmer temp than it should’ve been There was visible mold in the bathroom and due to lack of staff, we couldn’t get an extra blanket or pillow until the morning Our room had a pullout sofa with no dressings Not the worst hotel experience but Def could use some improvements The staff that was there was pleasant at check in and during the interim The manager did make a point to come up to check the toilet which wasn’t flushing so that was a plus I’d come back for the sake of convenience

Good choice for lodging in Annapolis! Great location, walkable to town, but have your comfy shoes ready if you’re choosing to walk There is a FREE shuttle that loops around Annapolis It picks up and drops off right in front of the Westin

Very convenient!Modern, clean, comfortable rooms No complaints there It was nice to have a pool for the kids to splash around after a long day out in town I only docked a star because, breakfast should be more reasonably priced Over $100 for breakfast for a family of 4 is not reasonable in my opinion Also, no included coffee in the lobby I was not about to pay for Starbucks after already paying the rather steep nightly rate If great location and a comfortable stay is what you’re looking for, you can’t go wrong with the Westin

Michelle Priller

Warm welcome from the Manager of Westin Annapolis started my business trip off to a fabulous start Sherry was incredibly helpful as it was our first event since the pandemic so we needed assistance with our logistics His warm smile each and every time I saw him was amazing

Susan was also very helpful with our booth setup Enjoyed my experience at the Westin and highly recommend

Not perfect but we will come back We stayed 2 nights, but housekeeping did not clean our room after the first night Other hotels we have stayed at ask if you want housekeeping but they didn’t so we assumed it was going to happen

Check in was at 3 and check out was 12 noonEveryone at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating Sitting outside on our little patio may very well have been the best part of the weekend It was quiet and peaceful, and we talked for hoursThe location is close enough to everything but far enough away to not be the most expensive place in town Dunkin Donuts is a 3 minute walk Plenty of hot water, water pressure was great The room was clean when we arrived Definitely a great place to stay, just make sure to ask about housekeeping if you stay more thank 1 night

The front-desk staff was super friendly (some of the best I’ve ever encountered) and the facility was very clean Our major issue was how the hotel felt like it was in disrepair Throughout our stay, we encountered many broken or disfunctional items

One of the parking lot doors (conveniently the one closest to our room) was “Out of Order”, the guest laundry was “Out of Order”, the pool was closed “due to maintenance”, our room’s toilet would not flush properly (had to hold the handle down until the cycle was completed), the toilet paper holder was barely attached to the wall, and our air conditioner unit failed to keep the room cool on the hot summer days

Very convenient location for access to downtown and a few great, very close-by restaurants and barsHowever, agree with others on horrendous service Front desk staff are frankly combative and seemed to take pleasure in denying reservations

A weird culture of trying to make the travel experience as miserable as possible Had to ultimately contact third party booking site, who then got in touch directly with hotel, to get pre-paid booking honored Quite an ordeal One day, the staff also failed to alert guests of adjoining road closures until the day of, when parked cars became inaccessible for several hours Manager completely unapologetic regarding all of thisRooms are good, price is fair for area, safe neighborhoodBottom line: do not recommend, will not stay again

Location is great, walking distance from restaurants and bars The room was fine, pretty standard Service however was terrible: checking in was an ordeal, with bad attitude from the receptionist

Room service is only provided if specifically requested We were also not informed of a road closure, with signs posted on elevators the day of – for a closure starting at 10am and lasting the whole morning! Had to figure out myself where to temporarily relocate the car, as the receptionist seemed very unconcerned and didn’t provide any help Would not recommend

Nice rooms for the price, great location to downtown Keep in mind there is much more rooms then there are parking spaces; they also let anyone park in it So if you plan on going anywhere after 3pm, you need to walk

The parking garage is very difficult to maneuver when full There is a parking garage a few blocks away, it is also half the price then parking at the hotel

Not the biggest room, but a very charming hotel, right where you want to be in Annapolis! Steps away from shops and restaurants, with a lovely veranda to enjoy watching your surroundings We found our room to be charming, and appointed with period furnishings Unusual for most hotel rooms, we had three windows with nice views! Our room was a bit small for today’s standards, but we were more interested in charm and atmosphere

We truly enjoyed our stay!

We expected a charming historic, musky, small room in a great location Maryland Inn delivered on those points but added a few features, not in a positive wayUpon checking in, we waited 30 minutes for the valet

When we stepped into the room (1301), we thought our eyes were playing tricks on us The middle on the room was concave by about 3 inches; this was quite strange We put a full water bottle on one side of the room, and watched it roll to the center Looking up wasn’t much better, with severe stress cracks in the ceiling (above the bed) So noticeable, it had us worried about the structural integrity of our room and the room above us My husband went to take off his shoes, looked down at the floor, to find a long needle (like a garmet or sewing needle) about 2-3 inches long along with a paper clip Wouldn’t have bothered me except the room itself had clearly not been cleaned well Dust caked on the TV unit and bathroom shelves The bathroom had the remnants of a towel bar, the ends were still mounted to the wall but no bar present as if it had been ripped or fell off at some point We checked in late so we stayed the night Next day, we called the front desk for our car and explained the room was unacceptable and that we would need to check out Front desk gentleman said we would be refunded and that he was unaware of the state of the room We left, and were still charged for both nights I waited a few days to see if they would credit us the one night After not seeing the credit, I reached out to their reservations team for support I have now tried on 3 occasions to contact then with absolutely no response Now I am disputing the claim on my cardIt’s extremely unfortunate how their staff has chosen to handle this event One small unlikable experience, easily corrected with an apology and a credit Instead, a customer is being ignored and disrespected

I had high hopes for the property based on reviews on my booking site but the experience was below average for me The room would have been comfortable if it didn’t smell like smoke the entire stay We asked the night we checked in if they could do something about it and instead of moving us they used a bunch of Febreze

That created a masked smoke smell for the first two nights that was tolerable but it seems like the smoke came back up into the room the third night, I assume from a different room The whole floor was non-smoking but that didn’t seem to help The bathroom was pretty run down and the breakfast is really a joke There were enough problems that it seems like management is just trying to hold onto the smoking crowd and riding that wave of customers

Wow FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND OTHERS DO NOT BOOK AT THIS LOCATION!! this is the worst sleep inn ever i would never consider this location especially if you are black the staff called 3 police officers on me and my girl and lied to the police told them that it was four people in our car and that we were checking car doors in the lot We was booking a room online from our car when three Police cars approached us telling us what the front desk said , so MANGERS AND CORPORATE WILL BE CALLED TMRW!!!!!!

Great place and reasonable price Decided to use our points, if you stay for 4 days, the fifth day is free We had a studio with a queen bed

Good room size with a comfortable lounge chair, table for reading, computers or office works if you are virtually working/ studying It has a kitchen and nice size bathroom and closets Room clean, well maintained and organized Another great thing is they offer free breakfast The foods are packed in its original container so you can be assured it’s safe

Every staff member I encountered during my stay was pleasant & professional I stayed for a month due to being flooded out of my home There is a Security Guard on the premises overnight

There was moderate noise at times from families with children staying on the 1st floorThe continental breakfast reflects the impact of the pandemic with “pre-packaged to-go” items & belgian waffles are added on the weekend Be prepared to take breakfast back to your room due to very limited seatingThe waffles & spinach & cheese omelettes were delicious!!The only issue I noticed was this location promotes deep sanitizing but it wasn’t evident in the room(s) I stayed in So glad that I brought my own cleaning products It wasn’t horrible so I didn’t bring it to management’s attention & just chose to sanitize things myselfOverall, my needs were minimal & the few requests that I made were quickly fulfilled I was just glad to have safe shelter from being displaced I would be a return customer if needed Forgot to take photos
