My fiancé and I stayed this past weekend when I walked into the room when we first checked it

you could smell the smoke smell from the previous people staying in the room It is very rundown ! No hairdryer , the toilet and bathtub was clogged up very badly ! They only gave us 1 towel and no washcloths to wash with couldn’t find the remote to the tv The couch that was in the room had stains and stunk really badly ! My advice check your reviews before you book a place ! It may sound great but trust me you won’t regret it !

I wouldn’t have stayed here if I had any other choice The hotel is in SERIOUS NEED of updating The first room the front desk lady told us before we went in they had, it was “blocked” but someone unblocked us to stay in it

Their were bugs all over the room including a large centipede looking worm dead on the floor, and the TV was broken The second room we were put in, one of the beds has a large hole in the mattress, the fridge leaks water, and the sheets don’t have that fresh hotel smell that I usually love But because of our unexpected trip for a family member and how late we got to the hotel we just sucked it up and stayed Never again!!

Latara Owens

I have stayed a couple of time and notice that the owner does make up extra charges One time my husband went to sign for an additional night and he wasnt charge any extra charges But when I went to pay for an additional night I had to pay an extra 20 dollars

I never got refunded my deposits Rooms wasn’t destroyed and we checked out on time Idk It’s cheap prices But be prepared to pay additional charges for no reasons I will not stay anytime soon They do have some staff members that are very nice though But you can’t just go around charging money for nothing We are still in a pandemic And I travel a lot

For what we needed, this hotel was a perfect stay The entrance was a little tricky due to some flooding and broken up pavement, but it wasn’t a huge issue The check in was quick and pleasant, the staff are friendly and helpful

The room was very clean and comfortable, the shower was excellent with great pressure! This hotel is not fancy, but is top notch for what it is Would stay again!

Elliot Daffodil

The place was clean, comfortable, in a pretty great location The women at the front desk and the cleaning staff are absolutely amazing, super friendly and really welcoming and helpful as well as the other guests who were fun to talk to and hang out with outside on the balconies Stayed there for about 3 weeks with our cat, there were a few minor issues we had, but nothing that is worth stating here and nothing that swayed me from staying again next time I need a place to go for cheap rates and good service

There isn’t much of a breakfast and my only complaint was that we seemed to have a fruit fly issue in our room but compared to the bugs that come along with other hotel rooms, that was nothing thank you so much to Crystal and the other women at the econo lodge that made us feel so welcome! Can’t wait for the peachy king to reopen so we can come visit the people that made our difficult situation into such a blessing

Not recommended for families nor elderly people to stay here It was a last minute booking for my birthday weekend I loved everything in NC but this place was the only one that ruined my expectations

I was on room 104, good location overall You will get what you pay for Rude staff (minus the breakfast lady she was awesome), unclean rooms, a lot of humidity, old and stained towels and sheets, smelly pillows, dirty floors About front desk Sam, For the check in they almost cancelled my reservation even tho all the card information was right, he just called me to cancel the room if I don’t get there in a certain time Horrible I was scared of where we were going to stay I was trying to get new towels and pillows, he made me feel like I was going to steel them (we just went to Walmart and got them), also they were knocking at the door at 11:30 for check out (which is at 12) and even tho we were taking out our stuff he came to us asking when we were leaving!? Super rude not bedside manner hotel wise They don’t do room service if you need something you have to walk over there Hotels are supposed to make you feel like home But the price was the best for my last minute booking

Jon Wright

I was apprehensive to stay at this location with all of the bad reviews as of lateI’m glad we stayedIs it the most modern hotel? No

Is it 100% sparkling clean? No, but neither is my living roomWhat it was? Overall clean and comfortable with INCREDIBLY courteous staff – from front desk to grounds and housekeepers, every person we interacted with was always friendly and helpful (and had some pretty good senses of humor too)That will make up for any minor flaws 99 times out of 100 in my bookWe will stay here again on our next visit

Mitchell Everett

For all that is holy, do not stay here I booked two nights in a “non-smoking” room The smell was so bad I could not sleep

Also, they allow homeless personnel to stay in the breezeways of the hotel and they were present during my stay right around the corner of my room I don’t have anything against them, but it added to the uncomfortable feeling of being there The walkways are painted concrete and do not have a non-skid texture on them I almost slipped and fell every time I left the room I also read a review where an elderly woman slipped and injured herself, and ultimately the staff laughed at her when she reported the instance I did not sleep and checked out early due to not being able to sleep with the intense smell of cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener I asked if I would receive any refund for the second night and they replied no because I booked the room through a third party I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone under any circumstances I guarantee you will be better off sleeping in your car

We’ve stayed here a couple of times while visiting Two Kings casino It’s about ten miles away We had a king room

The rooms are not large but are comfortable They are clean as well We had the free breakfast and it was okay The lady working in the breakfast area was friendly and kept it stocked well I was very pleased with our shower too They provide quality shampoo and the water pressure was awesome! We stayed in a room on the back and heard a fair amount of road traffic but not to the point of keeping us awake Also we had a hard time getting the air conditioner to properly cool the room It was loud and cooled only for a few minutes then turned off We would probably stay here again The price was fair compared to other nearby hotels

Ashley Baddeley

First impression beautiful hotel I hate to leave a review but this one really got to me We booked a stay for 2 nights for the three of us

We were there for work We arrived everything went well but later on we noticed that our bathroom wouldn’t flush We called down to the front and the lady was nice enough to try and see if she could fix it due to maintenance not being there She tried but no luck The lady told us maintenance would come by first thing in the morning So for the first night we had to keep going to the lobby to use the washroom Keep in mind 3 women and 1 of us being pregnant So lots of bathroom breaks The pregant one has not had an easy pregnancy so there for having to get sick in the shower since we didn’t have a toilet to flush After going to work the next morning and coming back we were still without a running toilet After that we decided just to check out a day early and go to another hotel We went down stairs to check out and the front desk said I would have to check out the next day when we were suppose to depart I then explained to the front our situation and why we were leaving and then the front happily checked us out then I then received my invoice the next day and the checkout time stated that we checked out the next day showing that we stayed for the whole reservation which we in fact did not! We checked out a whole day early Definitely not worth the money!I think the best part of all of this was when they offered us $20 for the inconvenience 🤣 what a joke! Stay Away

Chuck RF150

The room was very nice and the shower was extremely well-appointed My only disappointment regards the “free internet” which was non-existent I opted to pay the $4

95 to connect to the high-speed data and was surprised to be charged the fee four times! The clerk agreed to reduce that to two charges but defended their policy by telling me that I must have signed in four times – this makes no sense, so beware The location was convenient and the hotel is very nice

This was not a hotel I would stay in The rooms smelled, had spiders webs & don’t get me started on the sheets Stains for real & the bathroom was not clean

Worse Days Inn I ever been to They get a big ZERO in stars from me Went to another hotel within 5 minutes from seeing the room Pictures don’t always tell the truth The one good thing is that we got our money back 😡😡👎👎👎

Julio Feliciano

I was extremely disappointed Didn’t get what I requested

The best and only thing good about this stay was the price Burnt and stained bed covers Broken lamp shades Light switches that don’t control anything, Stuck curtains that will not roll I paid for a smoking room, not only is there a door in between 2 rooms, you have children receiving second hand smoke in the room next door It also did not have any ashtrays, I called to ask about the ashtray situation and was told to “use a cup”if the above doesn’t scare you away, maybe this does, no working vents in the bathroom and You can see from ONE RESTROOM TO THE OTHER I saw light coming through the vent and since im short, i used my phone to see and couldn’t believe what i was looking at)The picture below is of the view from one bathroom to the other bathroom)

Arrived about 3pm and was checked in by a pleasant young lady who answered our questions about them general area Our king room was clean and fresh with the expected amenities Breakfast was surprising during covid

There were boiled eggs, sausage biscuits, hot and cold cereal, yogurt and fruit The coffee was good I would stay there again

Dakota Kates

when arriving to the hotel, we were greeted uncomfortablely with people outside drinking beers then we entered our room and it just got worse mold in the fridge, stains EVERYWHERE, all over the bed, walls, floors, towels

trash was left behind from the last people staying we chose to move past it and see if it got any better, but the people outside only got louder and the walls were paper thin i was with my daughter and i would absolutely never allow her to be there do NOT stay at this place and ignore the “great reviews” i stayed in room 228 i can also provide pictures if needed

We do a lot of traveling, so we stay in all kinds of hotels and there have been times that we have been so disgusted we left! This Quality Inn is one of the CLEANEST hotel’s we’ve stayed in , in a long time! ( We stayed at a Window Universal resort in Orlando last week It looked beautiful in the pictures, but it was disgusting & It was infested with ants!) Thank you to the housekeepers at this Quality Inn for taking pride in what they do!! They obviously realize that people are staying there with their family and they wouldn’t want there family staying in a filthy room I give them ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re looking for a simple experience Clean room, breakfast served on time then this is the place for you As of front desk service

You may want to deadbolt the lock Last night, there was a miscommunication issue with the last customer who stayed in the room Instead of the front clerk calling or comforting they had checked the tenants out of their room, I was woken up with a light in my face accused of stealing and staying in Their room Luckily everything was worked out between us peacefully But if any mishaps or recklessness went down, that would have been a safety issue on my behalf Just throwing it out there The laziness on people security, comfort, and peace is a high concern Watch your backs here or you’ll be having an unexpected party at 12:00am

Ferrie van Hattum

Great value for money: spacious, clean rooms, comfy beds, fluffy towels: all things you can expect from HIE (but not always offered) nothing more you could want! This place had it all!!Nice add-on: a cosy little outside backyard surrounded by greens, to have your breakfast (fully automated pancake machine!!) and/or afternoon drink!!Just not full 5 stars if they would add some (sliced) fruit for breakfast (now only not completely fresh apple and banana available)

That would have topped it off For the rest: just go there!! One of the best HIE experiences ever!!

Not one apology from the manager The staff wanted to help They were kindNo accommodations made for the dirty toilet At least the night manager had the wherewithal to clean the bathroomDisgusting that someone used our toilet prior to checking in A staff member? Shocked Unsanitary to say the least Did not eat there because of their lack of attention to sanitationWe are diamond members and no consideration given Pricing was completely wrong for the 7 rooms we booked Manager was rude and offensive in our attempt to get the prices adjusted to what was booked originallyWould never stay here again

Beautiful hotel with a rich history from its previous history as a bank All of the decor and restoration of the building plays homage to its previous life Our bed was cushy and easy to fall asleep in

The bathroom was beautiful, serene, and there was no concern about it being unclean The receptionist made sure we had clearly explained access to the wifi password, meal times and locations, and rooftop access; she also made lovely restaurant recommendations! I went with a friend who had some physical disabilities and they accommodated her very well and we had easy access to handicapped accessible parking close to the front of the building

Greg Vaughn

Wonderful hotel right in downtown Gastonia Not too far from the intersecting highways and a small drive to Charlotte Douglas airport You own it to yourself to check out this remodeled bank! It maintains some of it originality while being comfortable and cozy

If you get the chance to be on the roof at sunrise or sunset it makes the stay worth it! Simple, quaint rooms with all the basic amenities Barrister’s on the main floor has a great burger and the breakfast in the lower floor is delicious

Katelyn Budke

My husband and I got married at Separk Mansion in May 2022 and reserved room blocks at the Esquire Hotel for ourselves and out of town guests We had the most amazing experience – Cody, Sarah, and the entire staff were all very welcoming, accommodating, and on top of everything From handing out 50 welcome bags to guests at check in to arranging a perfect rehearsal dinner and making sure our bridal party had everything we needed while we got ready in the bridal suite, I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough

Got a king room expecting it to be of decent size, but it was tiny Could use some updates The television was small

No table to eat at The first day we got there, it was drizzling and they closed the pool for the rest of the day (like 7 hours, after the skies were clear and no storms) Continental breakfast was okay, except they reuse food from the day before Biscuits were hard Omelettes were from the day before and still ice cold from the fridge, I’m sure But the bed was very comfortable Soft sheets and pillows Staff was courteous Good parking Back door access was extremely useful

Carolyn Rudd

This was my first stay at a Hampton Inn I was please with the staffing Reception was great

The house keepers were very pleasant and attentive to our needs The staff in the kitchen were neat and clean, friendly and attentive to our needsI have one complaint Our room had residual hair from the previous visitors in both the bathroom and in the bedroom ares There was also evidence of a pet that was in the room I am a stickler when it comes to cleaning That is a n issue for meWhen we come back next year, I hope that this will not be a concern Hint hint, we will be back

Kevin Becatti

Staff was welcoming and always greeted as we walked by The breakfast was clearly bulk hotel food but was way better than others I’ve had The room we got had a king size bed and was clean

Towards the end of our stay we noticed ants in the room and elevator It was nothing that I felt the need to complain about but only reason for a 4 star The gym was clean and had all the equipment anyone would need I will be back for sure

We decided late in the evening to stop to rest instead of driving the rest of the way home And we’re glad to find a comfort suites to stay in We were surprised at the smell of the hotel as we walk through but it didn’t bother us enough to report it We were on the first floor, which always means a slightly different experience than higher up but the room was clean we got a good night’s sleep and were able to get on the road refreshed the next morning

In all categories I wouldn’t even give one star Maybe a half star I stayed here for six days and I wouldn’t stay here again! I had to do my laundry

The dryer would not dry my clothes I put my clothes in and waited an hour and they were still wet I put money in a machine to get fabric softener It did not give me the fabric softener I went to the manager of the hotel and he told me he would have to look on Camera first before refunding my $1 That made me furious I do not need to steal a dollar from anybody! I was there on a business trip I told him the dryer didn’t dry my clothes He told me it was just fixed So I had to go to a laundromat It was very uncomfortable and an inconvenience! No one came the entire week to change my bedsheets or give me towels or check on me There was a party outside with tons of people surrounding the hotel I would go outside to smoke and I would have to try to avoid people that were partying, drinking and actually barbecuing right outside the hotel doors on all four sides of the building Their breakfast was not very good It’s the one thing I looked forward to And the eggs were so salty I couldn’t even eat them It was not worth the money staying there and I regret booking this reservation And would not stay there Save your money and go somewhere else!

Ron Villena

Lobby looked nice enough, but everywhere else smelled like “mold” Sheets had weird colored stains and the sinks were clogged The coffee maker in the rooms and rust in it

The price of the room is higher than the quality of effort put into the rooms But breakfast was pretty good If you need a 1 or 2 night stay, this is pretty good I wouldnt stay here again though

This place is pretty terrible, I work at a hotel in Greensboro NC and I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels As far as being the worst I’ve ever stayed in? This one easily takes the cake Internet is awful, doesn’t work half the time, it literally stops working for hours, not just gets slow but doesn’t even work

Corners of room and bathrooms are filthy, it’s disgusting Towels had hairs all over them, and the counters and tables were clearly not cleaned A/C worked decently enough Lamp shades were stained, outlets were stained, hair dryer was disgusting This place is an old dump It would be so much better if they just took the time to clean it up and put a little money into it Front desk area smelled awful, like really awful, not to mention the room spelled terrible too, granted it was a smoking room This place isn’t worth more than $30 a night

Rowena Morehead

Night time drive-up window to check in

Mostly made sense Our key card didn’t work the first time, had to get a replacement We reserved a nonsmoking room, and you could tell by the smell that wasn’t the case Not to mention the plastic bag covering the smoke detector! The window ceiling light didn’t turn on (thankfully all the lamps did) The TV was lacking a remote in the room, and there are a limited number of outlets to charge electronics We had a 2 double beds Room, 4 adults staying, and only 2 sets of towels On the bright side, the bedding was clean and orderly, the parking lot, lawn, and pool area were well lit and well kept, and the free Wi-Fi was easy to access Bathroom was nicely maintained with relatively new pedestal sink and new toilet And next to a restaurant Not bad, some things just felt a little off

Bed bugs! We stayed here, and initially had a good experience My husbands review is the most recent one seen below After returning home, we discovered that the rumors of bed bugs are true

We are now scrambling to eradicate them from our home The owners really need to exterminate! I will say that the customer service was great We were initially happy with our stay

My husband, sisters and I had the pleasure of spending Valentine’s day at this little gem I’ve visited many b&b and by far this on was the best We were greeted by Pam the innkeeper

Her spirit was so inviting it will warm you soul before you walk in And did I mention she can cook!!!! The house itself has so much history and sex appeal I loved that I felt right at home Melanie the owner greeted us in the morning with a smile I could see even though she was wearing a mask From the moment I spoke with her on the phone weeks before our stay she went out her way to make sure it would be a stay we would remember I really wish I had more time to enjoy the house no worries there because we will be back Thanks for reminding me there is still goodness in the world
