Richard Turcsik

The rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable I had a room on the lower level facing the Garden State Parkway but thanks to the sound proof windows I could not hear the traffic The staff was great, especially Sebastian

The only downsides were that there is not a restaurant in the hotel, although they have a kiosk in the morning that sells coffee and light breakfast items However, there is an ACME within walking distance and tons of great restaurants just minutes away Try the Galloping Hill Inn in Union for an excellent hot dog! My only other downside was that they only clean the rooms and make the beds if you give them 24 hour notice that you would like your room cleaned

Thank you for honoring my request for late check-in My first room assignment was cancelled due to heavy smoke odor in hallway Front desk clerk made every attempt to accommodate

Thank you The fabric covered headboard in the second room assignment was mysteriously stained Please replace the mysteriously stained headboards It could cause the imagination to run wild Also, the top bed sheet reeked of fragrance very odd Since I’m highly sensitive to fragrances, this experience resulted in restless sleep and a severe migraine Due to my exhaustion level both at check-in and checkout, I had nothing else to spend Overall my quality of stay was voided mainly due to the fragrance issue Although a bit cramped, it wasn’t a huge issue for me Thank you Kenilworth Inn

Stayed one night before flying out of Newark Airport, using the fly and 7 day park package Very friendly staff at both check in and check out The room was not fancy, but relatively large and quite clean

Lots of parking on site, and the staff were efficient in ordering a complimentary Lyft to the airport (instead of a shuttle, as the driver was off shift) The coffee maker in the room was broken, but even that was a fairly positive experience as they had maintenance there within a few minutes to swap it out!

A group of us booked 3 separate rooms 4 months before an upcoming wedding, and ALL of our rooms were canceled last minute They told us they would help us rebook at another hotel, but when we called they said they wouldn’t help us Like what the hell? It’d be fine if they canceled us way in advanced, but no they canceled 2 weeks before the trip and at this point most of the other hotels around that area seem to be booked out for other events

Absolutely terrible customer service, never even looking at another Sonesta hotel in the future

Jeeca Cabral

I definitely don’t see how people have given this place 4 and 5 stars I’ve spent nights at the Wyndham in different states and can say my boyfriend and I were very disappointed The room had NO mini fridge

The drain to the shower was clogged so every time we showered the tub filled up The curtain in the bathroom had a old dirty rag musty smell that was a little nauseating Found hairs in the shower the first night I am a pretty tall female so I can’t imagine what it’s like for someone shorter than me to access the safe It was in the closet on the top shelf I couldn’t see if anything was in it and struggled to even put my purse in it and locking it Tennis court was horrible Basketball court was used for employee parking Elevator didn’t seem to secure, you could barely push the buttons without the panel moving with itThe good things about the hotel was the television stations were good, the air conditioner worked fine, had hot water when showering, gym had good equipment

Moza Miller

We had Excellent service here The spa was clean with plenty of towels The rooms were spotless

The room also turned out to look better than the photos you see online The linen is very clean and soft The toiletries are very soothing to the skin The beds and pillows are very comfortable The doors are wide enough for wheelchair access even if a handicapped access room isn’t available Their onsite restaurant have a variety of food and drink and stays open late Also the dining room have some 😋 delicious food If you come back from a late venue like we did the hotel has the menu for a nearby restaurant that delivers to the hotel and they make some spectacular food This hotel staff go over and above to make sure your stay is comfortable If I’m ever in the NY/NJ area again I will definitely stay here again

For the amount of money paidthey don’t have a microwave in any of the rooms, you have to go by the front desk to share one microwave and they don’t offer ANY free breakfast (Continental or Full)

You have to pay There wasn’t a luggage rack in the room or extra blanket So, for an 8 day stay at $160000 what did I get that sets aside the Courtyard Marriott in West Orange, NJ from a Red Roof Inn? Parking was hard at night to find up front by 9 pmyou had to park in the back Oh and they do have a heated pool by reservation only up to 10 in one family I think it’s 2 families at a time I just didn’t feel like I experienced a Marriott stay AT ALL!! Clean though and rooms were comfortable

Mona Chowdhury

We visited the hotel on May 20th, 2022 We were very happy with the location rooms and service What made the stay exceptional was the front desk staff

Anitra and Yvette were very professional, helpful and competent They provided valuable information as to where we could get food and grocery and yes Wine!!! They were funny and interested in their guests wellbeing Very hard working and dedicated to the service of their guests They made our stay wonderful!

really quite nice and inexpensive Faced with paying about $250 for a night at the Hilton Garden Inn or $150 at the Turkey Inn, it was a great inexpensive alternative The person with whom I spoke a couple of times before I arrived was thoughtful and attentive and made the logistics work perfectly

A large comfortable room with old furniture was really welcoming This is a great find in the State I Hate (Spent my formative years in NJ and its certainly a good part of the reason I am malformed)

Katie A

Loved staying here! I called the owners last minute and they were so accommodating and got everything ready quickly I spent time talking to Bill upon arrival whose family owned the inn for generations and he is lovely! So much history! The room (room 9) was on the top floor and large, comfortable and such a great value Included coffee, a cooktop, microwave and fridge, a large seating area and work desk

The grounds are lovely and we’ll cared for, and it’s a quick 2-3 minute walk into the middle of town Definitely recommend and will be back

Kathleen Brennan

Super-cute inn only a few blocks from Springfield Avenue and the Summit Train Station Though there is free parking, it is also close to community parking lots My ensuite room was big, very clean, and came with thoughtful details like a bottle opener, champagne flutes, and even a flashlight

Check-in was finished even before I got there (I received my keys in a personalized envelope), and there is a complimentary coffee bar in the sunny front sitting room The only downside was that there wasn’t an elevator (that I saw), so anyone with mobility issues might have a more difficult time reaching the rooms on upper floors

I can not say enough nice things about this location Clean, easy to get to, breakfast was tasty, bartender made a good drink They have a nice patio area, but know it doesn’t officially open until the bar opens

The front desk clerks were nice, the market was well stocked and if You need it, they have it If I’m in the area again, I would definitely stay there again

I believe this was the warmest welcome I have ever received when checking into a hotel Whether here in the states, abroad, or even at a luxury resort The difference is those hotels did not have Jermaine and Golda like the little Hilton Hotel on Route 22 West in Springfield

Jermaine is so warm, personable, friendly, and caring He made me feel like an honored guest in his home for the weekend Golda was very attentive, patient with requests, has a million-dollar smile and just displayed uncommon hospitality and guest service Her positive energy was contagious This hotel has a dynamic duo at the front desk Both represent the Hilton Brand Image and Core Values Thank You Jermaine and Golda!!! If I ever need hotel services in Union County area you both made Hilton Garden Inn of Springfield the obvious choice!Respectfully,Shane Barber

Very nice hotel Clean rooms Good breakfast

Just like so many other Hiltons they are getting cheaper, and cheaper As a diamond member I spend thousands and thousands with Hilton When I ask for a couple $025 bottles of water to go in the morning about half just give it to me Usually outside of town Inside cities where younger people work the counter, they say you have to pay their full price for it How stupid I will just go around the corner to a gas station or store if they are going to be that way

We had such a wonderful stay here this past weekend The hotel – lobby, market, and rooms – is beautiful and the staff is so lovely Doug helped me when I checked in

My card wasn’t working so he instructed me on how to do an online authorization so we could make it work He was so polite and patient with the fact that I was making check in more complicated And the whole while I enjoyed chatting with him and the other front desk staff He was pleasant each time we had to stop by the desk to get parking validated The staff at the bar and the coffee shop/market were also incredibly friendly The whole time I just felt like we were staying with friends Everything about it was just great I will absolutely stay here again

C

Stayed here for a wedding Overall wonderful experience! The staff were great The rooms were very clean and had awesome amenities

My experience would have been better if there was a full restaurant, room service, and breakfast was served for a bit longer If it wasn’t for the wedding close by I may not have stayed at this hotel because it’s quite pricey, but it was a great stay and well worth it

Made reservations about 2 weeks in advance Tried to use AAA or Senior Discounts (NO GO BECAUSE I WENT TO 3RD PARTY) Price way to High but needed to attend Funeral Memorial

PAID for High Level Floor (2 Queens) and put on 4th Floor Front Desk at check-in was talking to everybody but me Got their 4:45 PM had to go back to front desk 3 times to check on room Got room at 5:55 PM Went to Bar had a Draft Beer $750 (Could get a case for $32) Ask about Breakfast (was to be provided) but said they were remodeling Website didn’t let you know that $2000 for parking in lot connected to Hotel All in All will not stay their again HIGH Expectations LOW Results That’s just my opinion Very $$$ stay for 1 Night

Overall a great hotel, and definitely plan on staying here again if in the area Check in was easy, the room was great, and breakfast at the restaurant was really good and decently priced Couple weird quirks, no top sheet on the beds, no wash clothes, and didn’t seem a waiter knew I was sitting outside, but that’s probably just due to new staff/lack of staff everyone is experiencing right now

Would recommend this place and would stay again, think the money we paid for the stay was perfect

S Bess

Rooms are small but clean Personnel are friendly and helpful (with one notable exception) At check in, we asked about available upgrades and were told that we were receiving a complimentary upgrade

The man then gave us a room that, we found out later, was not supposed to be available for guests due to major maintenance issues and was NOT an upgrade even if the door and the sink worked properly It was clear that he deliberately lied to us as we found out two days later, when we were told that we had to move rooms and we should never have been in that room because of the well documented issues and that room upgrades were not a thing at this hotel and we hadn’t received one (which was obvious as soon as we saw our room) Moving rooms unexpectedly made us late for an appointmentOther than the deliberate lie and deliberately putting us in a room with a security issue (door did not shut properly), the stay was a positive experience

Bret Williams

A very pleasant enough remodel The linens and general vibe was nice However, a couple of peeves: the desk chairs are not on wheels

Makes it very difficult to move close enough to do work while easily getting up Second, the lighting in the bathroom is way too dimAlso, the wallpaper in my room was peeling at the jointsGreat location and friendly staff Needs some work, though to make it a 4 or 5 star hotel

As a Hilton fan, we are a bit disappointed The check in was very smooth, staff was very friendly and helpful Room was very comfortable, great view, but be awarded pictures can be misleading

outdoor pool is not as fancy and big as we expected, a lot of people using it daily( at least when we were there), patio is part of the restaurant for outdoor dinning, cant just go in there and enjoy the seating parking is not free, will cost you 18 dollar per night no microwave at all in the room or lobby Breakfast was not impressive Staff were nice, but really short staffed do your calculation before booking

Richard Krasney

Samantha help us book our wedding block rooms and sent up complementary champagne with my wife’s name on the label, as well as chocolate covered strawberries She was so great to work with and the hotel couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful They even helped us when her ride to the wedding didn’t show up and she was dressed in her wedding dress waiting to go to the ceremony

The hotel stepped up with their Hilton Honors Cadillac and got her there in time for the ceremony Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable

Nate B

Ok this hotel is very very nice in regards to the rooms Recently renovated however they charge 18$ a night for parking AND make sure you double check the bill! They might double charge you If you’re Hilton honors the 15$ meal credit is essentially worthless for breakfast

Coffee is 7$ and They charge 20$ on average for their meals which are merger at best! I would skip this Hilton location and go to their Home 2 down the road with free99 breakfast AND free parking

Such a beautiful old-world hotel that is frozen in time Elegant and charming are the first words that came to mind when I walked into the beautiful lobby The room was recently renovated but still has much of the old hotel architecture such as a window in the bathroom

The staff are all very friendly and the bar is definitely a locals hangout that welcomes visitors with open arms Every single employee we encountered was courteous, friendly and accommodating Such a wonderful place to rest after a long flight The hotel is very convenient to Newark without the New York prices Highly recommend

My partner and I have stayed numerous times at Grand Summit We usually need to check in early, around (1/1:30 pm) for meetings, and check out very early (5 am) We never had to pay for an early check-in until the last time

The front desk attendants enlightened us that the new check-in fee of $50 is the result of the new management and cannot be waived Clearly, the new management is not making good business decisions as we will not be staying there again because of it In general, the hotel was ok- clean rooms, generic and tacky decor, and hit-or-miss staff We mostly stayed there because of its historic past and convenient location

$300/night (not even base prices, this is the rate I got through a third party) TO FIND MENS BOXERS IN THE DRESSER IN THE ROOM, a motel with full size beds, a/c that won’t go lower than cooling the room to 75° in April with the heat blasting in the hallways while it’s 71° outside, and a “deluxe continental breakfast” that resembles prison food Complete rip off, the fact that it looks interesting from the outside does not justify these prices

The hallways smelled Really awful on the 2nd and 3rd floor**It is not really a hotel flaw, so I can’t blame them for that I found out while looking for an ice machine, which they don’t have even though the map (blurry due to casing being matte) by the elevator mentions “Ice” with no indication of where it actually is

I believe someone cooked extremely strong scented ethnic foodAlso, I’m assuming that they Had ice machines at one point and got rid of the machine due to the pandemic or something else No ice machines to be found on any of the floors Nonetheless, the employee in the kitchen on the first floor by the bar was nice enough to give us iceThe hallways need to be ventilated or something, the smell was very strong and stale air Other than that, the rooms are very clean and there was minor wear and tear, but nothing that I can imagine would bother anyone unless you’re a perfectionistThe kitchen was stocked with some cups, plates, a cheese grater, fridge, etc Seems fine for 1-2 people max Rooms are very small, but comfortable1 star for odor in hallways and elevators (deducted from “Rooms”)0 star for the view behind the hotel 😂 it’s a construction site or a recent demolition Again, not really the hotels fault and that’s not exactly a deal breaker for people who are just visiting the area short-term or need a place to crash for the night

Horrible experience here Before booking I called and spoke to manager to clarify check in and check out policy, all seemed wellUpon arriving, the woman at the desk “couldn’t find” the reservation I had paid for in advance

Eventually she found it, room is nice but the dishes dishes were not clean and there was trash in the couch crevicesNow three days later I need to check out 1 day early, as discussed before hand The woman who was at the counter this time was much more helpful and polite, props to herAll of a sudden the smug manager (same guy I spoke with before booking) comes out and begins explaining that he won’t allow me to check out early as discussedUpon reviewing both of our sets of notes and asking for further clarification the manager was unable to show me the policy he’s referencing and refused to pull up the call recordings where he claims he told me otherwiseHe said “it would be a lot of work to pull up that call”I guess when something requires work they just don’t do it…As a business owner myself, I can say, this is not how you treat customersThis was a simple bait and switch to force me to pay for the additional night that I did not need, since the beginningAlso, although I clicked “no housekeeping” when I booked online, housekeepers walked in on me while I was sleeping this morning

Wish I could rate the stay but I’m sitting in the lobby as the room is not ready even though check in was at 3 pm It is now 3:47 pm We have been here since 1pm as we were told that we could use the facilities prior to check in

But when we said we wanted to use the pool we were told no After speaking to the manager, he said we could use the pool but also said our room would be done soon I’ll check in again and tell you how it’s going!

Erin was fantastic to work with! She answered every phone call we made We had a huge wedding and needed a lot of rooms We also needed a hair and makeup room and a room for brunch the next day

Our friends and family can’t stop talking about how elegant the Archer was Our wedding used the pool, the bar area, and it was centrally located to everything The shuttles picked up our guests timely for our wedding at the Crystal Plaza only a short 10 minute drive away The Archer even gave us a wedding gift which we will treasure in our new home we just bought If you’re looking to be treated like royalty, book the Archer and ask for Erin!-Rachel and Adam Marcus

We really enjoyed our one night stay for a wedding Front desk staff was pleasant and efficient and were able to check us in early The hotel has a great esthetic and the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with lots of nice touches like books at the bedside and complimentary salted caramels and water

Would recommend and would stay again

We booked this hotel to attend a wedding Overall the place was pleasant and comfortable, and everything was clean The only complaint is that the staff were a bit lacking in hospitality; we were presented with a check for breakfast as soon as we sat down, and I requested an item only for it to be brought up hours later

Other than the minor complaints, we enjoyed our stay

Great hotel! My room was very spacious and had a great layout I wish there were USB plugs at both sides of the bed though I was impressed there was actually a fan in the bathroom, a hotel rarity

The hotel was located in a secluded but safe area There weren’t any restaurants within walking distance I didn’t interact with the front desk (had an electronic key) so I can’t speak to the quality of the customer service Still, I’d recommend this place

Overall a nice experienceAcessing the hotel can be a bit tricky unless you are *very* familiar with that stretch of road But overall it is conveniently close to major highways

Quiet, comfortable room It was a handicapped room and there was ample space to move around the room and the bathroom with a wheelchair**Dog friendly**The complimentary breakfast was good but I had two small quibbles First, they are located in North New Jersey and are surrounded by many good bagel shops The bagels they offered were mediocre, there are local bagels that wouldn’t have cost the hotel much more Also, I wish that the toasters got hotter, quicker I didn’t have time to do more than heat the surface of my bagel with no colour won’t because there were people behind me and I had to get on the road

They didn’t quite pass my towel test (I want huuuuge bath towels in my hotels) but good enough My daughter and I stayed two nights One room with two queen beds

It was nice, clean, easily large enough that the two of us weren’t bumping into each other The bathroom was nicely/brightly lit General room amenities were nice It was definitely on the cold side for us though — housekeeping had set the thermostat at 67 when we arrived and it was frigid We bumped it up to max which was only 73, not warm but about one degree from being warm in that room for usOur stay came with free breakfasts They were wonderful for a not-even-4-star hotel Nicely-sized buffet with cereals, waffle makers, toasts, eggs, fruits, drinks, the worksIf we’re in the part of the world again we’ll stay

Great Service Very spacious and nicely appointed I brought the kids here mainly for the indoor pool so they can go whether rain or shine

There was plenty of parking behind the building near the indoor pool, so there is no need to compete with anyone Has EV charging too for those of you that run on batteriesThe restaurant downstairs has fair prices, which is competitive against the need to drive out and eatWhile we gave it 5 stars anyway, I just wanted to note that the photo of the indoor pool is a bit misleading The pool is a little smaller in real life, but it is still roomy and not too crowded when we went

Beautiful hotel that sits on the Connell business park now renamed The Park Like all Embassy Suites each room offers sofa/ kitchen area and the bedroom area These are spacious and nicely decorated for the price point

Included in the stay are a free breakfast buffet (oatmeal, fresh fruit, bagels, coffee, etc and an omelette station) which are good and quality does vary of some offerings based on the time you eat They also give a complimentary drink for each adult per/ night of your stay This is a nice touch and you can upcharge if you’d like top shelf brandsLots of common areas for working which is the top priority here for most guests There is also a full Starbucks on site and a great reading area in front of the shop See my Grain & Cane review for notes on the on-site restaurant which is 👌🏼 tooThe pool area could use a little love, but all in all the Staff was very courteous, the property was very clean, and all in all I would highly recommend it!

The room was dirty upon check in, there was like white substance all over the bed shams and all over the doors and all over the floor, there was also a sticky substance seeping out of the refrigerator the room smelled like they were covering up maybe pet odor The scent from the vents was very overwhelming like a deodorizer

The lamp was broken and hanging sideways There was no happy medium with the air conditioner, it blew right on us all night and there were no abilities to set the vents in an opposite way away from the beds the breakfast stations were jampacked nowhere to sit young kids touching all the food with their hands, and the lines wrapped around the tables for fresh omelets, which led us to get breakfast at Starbucks Maybe it was a wedding weekend? The hotel should alert guests when something like this is occurring, We weren’t able to use the pool, there were so many kids in it and it was a very small 3ft pool, and we chose this location specifically for the pool Very unhappy We even came late like 8 pm And check-in was at 3, we told them we would be late so they had an ample amount of time to clean the hotel room , the daybed cushions were not even put in correctly the zipper seam was facing out The hotel has such potential

I was able to live comfortably as if I had come home Although the inn is over 100 years old, it is clean and the rooms are modern and It is a 5 minute walk to Summit DowntownThe staff are friendly and nice to sit in the garden at night for a beer

Especially, the strong wi-fi is good for simple jobs, both cell phone and notebook(laptop) work fine The water pressure in the shower is a bit weak^^*I miss the cool breeze of the garden

We spent our 50th anniversary weekend at the DeBary Inn in Summit and Innkeepers Lee and Sharon went above and beyond to ensure we had an experience to remember From the warm welcome to the beautiful surroundings and special attention they give to all guests, we highly recommend anyone going to Summit to make this a part of their visit! Suite 17 was the perfect accommodations and a place to call home for the weekend (the bed was the most comfortable we have encountered in our travels!) We went to the Papermill Playhouse for a show which was only 8 minutes away and the Inn is perfectly situated walking distance to town with numerous restaurants, shops and the train station The owners purchased the Inn one year ago and have updated it and made it beautiful, comfortable and a home away from home

We look forward to returning for what we know will be another memorable stay!
