Welcoming staff, immaculate room, delicious breakfast! Conveniently located off the highway, this hotel was great The room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable Complimentary breakfast was served at 6 AM so we could grab a bite and get an early start to the day

Cheese omelets, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, and more! The woman who managed the breakfast was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed Highly recommend!!

The sign SAYS Hampton, but this customer’s experience was unlike any — of the many –Hamptons I’ve stayed in They must have a reputation-enhancement firm working on reviews because

wow, I can’t even count the issues during our very brief (we switched hotels ASAP) stay Front desk was clueless, but in fairness, there was NO management on property (4pm on a weekend?!) — so if the green clerk couldn’t fix it, “you’ll have to wait until tomorrow” was the answer you were given Lost reservations, nopefound! Whoops! Lost again!? A good credit card supposedly “declined” (yet it was charged!!!) The frustrated desk clerk appeared ready to walk out, LOTS of other unhappy people in lobby with baggage waiting for rooms not yet ready (again, 4pm, not 10am) Not a happy scene And all this with zero accountability and nowhere to turn with management apparently “on holiday”If you are a Hampton Inn fan, you’ll likely be disappointed here Avoid Please

The room was fine I was only in town one night They charged my card 25000 for smoking in the room when they have video of me going outside to smoke

I called to to get it worked out since THEY KNOW (due to security video showing me stepping outside multiple times to smoke) that I did not smoke in this room and the woman on the phone just laughed at me and told me her manager would call which never happened As someone who travels for a living and is a Hilton diamond member I will never come back to this hotel and would not advise anyone to visit Someone’s running a security deposit scam in this hotel $325 for one night at this hotel I was ripped off Don’t be the next victim

We stayed July 29, 2022 at this Fairfield by the Empire Mall A great place for us to stay You won’t go wrong staying here, and we even had the room by the elevator on the second floor

I can list everything separately form the comfortable bed, plenty of towels (!!), plentiful breakfast, kind, efficient employees, mall and eateries next door, etc The only sad issue is the rates (for all hotels, except maybe a Super 8) have gone up so much We stayed on Friday with a reasonable rate but if we added Sat nite, the rate would’ve averaged $240 a night But, still, this Fairfield was great!

Brea Gabriel

My family and I stayed at this hotel and right before I closed my eyes to fall asleep I saw bed bugs crawling out of the hotel pillowWe of course told the person that was working the front and he did offer us another room but are stay was already ruined I was afraid another room would probably have the same problem

So we put all are belongings in garage bags until we could properly wash everything and headed back home in the middle of the nightI was super disappointed that management didn’t seem to care I had bed bug bites on both my arms, had to drive 5 hours home with kids and missed my son’s entire hockey tournament that we came there for

Grammy Barfels

This hotel,is easy to find with a number of restaurant choices close by We were especially impressed with the breakfast staff and especially Christine She opened the breakfast area early so our men’s hockey team could eat before an early game

The rooms were clean and the entire facility was very enjoyable We’ll stay here again for sure!!

I loved the staff here at the hotel, the bartenders were so sweet and so funny The drinks were amazing too and the vibe at the bar is really upbeat and fun I ordered a to go order and it wasn’t great but the customer service made up for what the food lacked

I would suggest going to the restaurants around the hotel but for a couple of drinks and good conversation the bar is definitely the place to go

Devon C

A hotel in summer must have working air conditioning Very hard to sleep in hot stuffy rooms that do not have windows that open and very poor/ nonexistent air conditioningStaff was friendly, and tried to help

Nice location Nice rooms Might try them again, but not in the summerWe stayed as part of a large group and some rooms did have decent A/C, but several/most did notAte breakfast buffet once Everything was room temperature Did not get my money’s worth, as cold biscuits n gravy kinda spoils the appetite and it is nice if the butter attempts to melt on your French toastThe made to order omelet was hot, if a bit overcooked, but not bad

Jeremy Hannah

Let’s start with the good The hotel is worth staying at for 2 reasons The customer service was really good and the bar area had good food and good drinks

Servers were great Now for the bad Let me say this was my experience and does not necessarily mean you should not stay here It’s centrally located and nice bars near by The first room they gave me was horrible, handicapped room , smelled mold and sewage and dirty Room located above trash compactor and at corner of building next to busy street When the bars let out it was horrible You can hear every car Second room the cleaning was incomplete Dirty custodian towel let behind and someone’s cell phone There was a huge I mean huge crack in the ceiling that felt very unsafe3rd room was much better , shown below I’d stay here again but never on the lower floors on the East side of the building Stay higher floors and no handicapped rooms unless you need it! Finally I will say again the customer service was good they refunded hotel fees and gave me enough vouchers for the bar and restaurant that I basically ate free each night Well not free but close So that made up for it

Oldie but a Goldie The room was very clean despite being older I did not notice any funny odors

Check in was smooth and the woman working the front desk was able to accommodate my request for a ground floor room as I was staying with a canine I did not notice any excessive noise from other rooms or the highway The bed was firm in my opinion but I love an extra plush mattress I still got a good night’s rest and didn’t wake with any unusual aches Easy access right off of I-90 Great breakfast with eggs, sausage and a make your own giant fluffy waffle station Also the usual stuff available like cereal and toast Good coffee Woman attending to the breakfast was keeping the tables and counters clean and tidy Shower was basic but had good water pressure and nice soft water I needed to stay an hour past check out and the front desk had no issue with that I will stay here again should the need arise

Marta Gemelli

The mattress was very comfortable and it was a quiet place The front desk quoted 2 different prices the 2 times we called from the road

The front desk attendant was friendly, but said the breakfast wasn’t worth getting up for, so I can’t rate the food The room had a bad small and shabby furniture from the 90s Mold in the shower Terrible lighting at the sink for applying make-up My white socks were filthy from a short walk so I kept my shoes on after that Cleanliness is important to me I think this is just years of grime I’m sure they clean and change the sheets

Loretta Hetke

Great location, quietRate for pets not bad You expect to pay for a pet if you are a respectful pet owner who loves their dog

I’m sickened with all the users of the world with their so called SERVICE PETOH don’t get bent out of shape, you know who you are, I’m NOT speaking to the rightful owners of service pets, who deserve itMAN UP! The hotel employees work hard for us!

Evening staff member was terrific Think his name was David working the night shift Had a problem with our window coverings and he came right up to fix it

Very friendly and was working a ton of hours (all hotels seemed short staffed) I made a mistake on the breakfast hours and couldn’t figure out why the hotel was having a staff meeting in the breakfast area while our family was trying to eat Lots of talk about taking care of guests while we moved to a corner and had to navigate through the meeting to get our food Bad on hotel leadership for not coming over and explaining to me what I missed, which was breakfast was over 30 minutes prior My apologies for disrupting your meeting, but a real missed opportunity by the leadership team to do a live demonstration of how to take care of a guest with their entire team watching Overall, though, a really nice stay

Allison Sprenger

I came to Holiday Inn for a training The hotel was very clean! Front desk was welcoming and polite We would come back and actually stay!We used the public restrooms off the conference room, which were spotless! But, after 24 of us started using the restroom more it started to smell of sewer

Clarissa D

Conveniently located to so many cool restaurants and stores I highly recommend Slim Chickens and it’s within walking distance! There’s also a Walmart, Sam’s Club, and a Hyvee nearby Also, their breakfast was too notch! It was even better than most other Holiday Inn Express and Suites I’ve stayed at before

Hotel is nice, close to everything Rooms are clean and have plenty of what you need I am taking a star away for the language carts

The carts are almost impossible to move around I spent a good amount of time taking it to the room, you need two people and all hands on deck to move them It felt like pushing a heavy grocery cart that only has 3 wheels and all three are bad Moving the cart in and out of the hotel, even with the nice room and breakfast, ruined my whole experience in this hotel When we were leaving the room there was another older couple struggling to get to their room with their cart Will not come back unless the carts are upgraded The price of this hotel per night is definitely worth a better experience If you don’t need a language cart you may have a better experience

Dianne Jones

The service here was outstanding! My husband had a medical emergency the evening of our stay Hannah called 911 for us She kept her calm, was very professional, as well as, kind and caring

Having this happen when we were far from home was scary, and she really helped us Both Zane and Allison were supportive and encouragingThe room was very nice Bed and pillows were comfortable Shower was clean The hot breakfast was deliciousThanks again!

Amanda Blomenkamp

Rooms are clean and nice, beds are hard as a board Hotel staff and management are absolutely terrible The worst I’ve ever experienced in my travels

They are unprofessional and rude If you bring something up to them they will literally laugh at you This hotel was a designated hotel for our team for a tournament, if we’re ever assigned here again, I’ll stay elsewhere Do NOT bring your team or group to this place The manager even told one of our group members that she wasn’t taking complaint phone calls from anyone this week Isn’t that part of her job? They will threaten to kick you out for any noise, even during daytime hours I could go on and on

The hotel itself was in good condition and we would definitely stay here again The front desk staff and kitchen lady were amazing Both at nighttime when we checked in the lady went out of her way to help us

And the morning lady was just as helpful I have a dietary restriction and the kitchen help was so hospitable She went and got me a breakfast item that met my restrictions and even offered to give me a couple to take back to my room if I was staying a few more days Which I wasn’t but the customer service was outstanding here All three ladies I dealt with are superb employees! Do not hesitate to stay here!

Clarissa Leinbaugh

Unfortunately we had a really poor experience This hotel has a pet friendly policy which is great for pet owners! Upon entering our room it smelt of cat urine The rooms are spacious for a big families, but other than that are outdated

No housekeeping, poor breakfast If you can go somewhere else do so! We asked for blankets for the pull out couch and we’re rudely told “we don’t have any” by staff who were not planning on doing laundry We also were notified a day after we checked in that the pool was not useable When asking for a refund I was rudely told no because it just happened the night before I checked in the previous night at 6pm and was never notified the pool was down for maintenance Very upset as we were trying to have a small 4th of July vacation for our kids Kristy was rude and never attempted to work with us on any issue I would never recommend

kelly mcguire

Five stars for the Residence Inn in Sioux Falls! I highly recommend staying at the Residence Inn in Sioux Falls for your next visit! From the moment we got there the staff was extremely friendly! Christy was helpful and accommodating when checking us in! Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable! We woke up to a lovely buffet and several breakfast options We also love that they are pet friendly! 5 stars!

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and checked us in quickly The lobby looks nice and clean I like how they had masks, tissue, and hand sanitizer in the lobby

I love how they have a indoor pool especially how hot it is outside Our room and bathroom was nice and clean My husband and I had a good nights rest 10/10 recommend!

Dianne Jensen

Was greeted professionally at the desk when our party arrived But the next day got an eye roll from the same employee when asked if we could get the local news and weather in the lobby to check out the travel conditions The rooms were nice but found the previous occupants boxed leftovers and various drinks in the refrigerator

Others in the party had a sticky refrigerator inside and out Dried mud and rocks in front of the coat hooks Just made me wonder how well it was cleaned No fresh towels the second day of our visit (Over $200 a day and we cant get fresh towels?) Our group was going to meet in the attached bar after having a cheerful waiter the previous day but the bartender was so unbelievably rude to the first couple from our party to arrive, we just left for someplace else The swimming pool , though smaller than some places, was great This was a family gathering ages 5 to 85 and enjoyed the pool

Darien Nguyen Dat Nails Bro

I decided to stayed here because me and my kid got really tired after a long traveling trip, they charge me US$16816 for 1 room, the first room they gave me got this fishy smell and one of the towels in the room got bloody booger still stuck in it, the bedding have dirt stain on them, I took pictures and showed them, they switched me to a different one RIGHT NEXT to the first one, still have the fishy smell, the pillow have some weird stain on it, mouldy smell behind the chair next to one of the bed, but I was too tired and didn’t want troubles The pool look fun but definitely not taken care of, you can see lots of dirt and debris under the whirlpool

Over all a horrible stay, avoid this place if you can, the staff are not trained properly to left the place under that condition and also price gouging

I’ve stayed multiple times here and I love it This is my go to place in Sioux Falls This trip was great, Dave Jr went above and beyond getting breakfast out on a rough day

Nora was always a pleasure to work with – great and friendly customer service Every person I interact with here makes me feel at home! The rooms are clean, roomy, and comfortable The location is great, just a short walk from where I work, food, entertainment, grocery stores And the walk along the lake is lovely

Candace Ruffin

Overall the hotel is nice and we loved the scenery surrounding the property My issue is the cleanliness of the room The only reason I didn’t complain and request another room was because we arrived at 2 am in the morning…

The floors in the room and bathroom were NOT clean My daughter found a stand of hair between the down comforter and the top layer of the bedding There was hair on the floor in the bathroom and the toilet was filthy I had to clean the toilet myself… We are the guests and should not have to clean the room we PAID for This is unacceptable…

Pacific Home Inspections

Had to make an emergency stop due to a tornado warning What a gem! The rooms are super clean and the staff are very accommodating! The hotel went into emergency mode and we all ended up in the basement while the storm passed on The employees went and got us water while we were waiting! Who does that?! Way above and beyond! As someone In the customer service sector who feels like “it’s not like it used to be” it’s refreshing to see they still care!If I’m in Sioux Falls again I will definitely be here!

Even though located along I-29, I did not hear any traffic noise in my eastside room No earplugs needed here I had a room with a kitchen and really appreciated the full size fridge

I liked that they had full size dispensers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the tub One of a few hotels that don’t charge outrageous fees for having a pet Would have given 5 stars if my room had been a little cleaner

Uncaring staff! After a long day of travel we were looking forward to a quiet night of sleep A large construction crew was staying at the hotel and they proceeded to party and carry on starting at 5:30 pm

This was taking place 15 feet outside our suite I called the office for the first time at 9:30 pm asking them to please deal with the yelling and loud music I was told by the female desk clerk that she would take care of it NOTHING so I called again 15 minutes later only to be told that “she would take care of it” NOTHING So, down to the front desk I went to angrily express by dissatisfaction and told them it was very clear that the $$$ taken in by this large construction crew was more important than the other guests in the hotel Again I was told it would be taken care of NOTHING Finally, at bit after 11:00 pm I called the front desk to complain again and spoke to a male desk clerk FINALLY at about 11:15 the party was broken up Needless to say we will not be staying at the hotel again, nor will we recommend it to others The management needs a thorough session of conflict management

A decent hotel and it is nice to have a larger room and kitchen The breakfast is decent but nothing outstanding Eggs, sausage, old bread, juice, coffee, and cereal

Trying to separate a poor late check-in experience from the hotel itself

Room was clean and breakfast was good Hotel staff was upbeat and kind However, we did have a debacle and were told how it was our fault first (you booked the wrong room, you booked in Expedia) when it wasn’t They made it as right as they could for the wee hours of the morning

Michael Nuss

Very friendly staff, especially the breakfast crew They went around asking everyone if everthing was OK Room was clean, comfortable and fresh smelling

One of the best La Quinta Inn I have stayed in There is a Perkins and a IHOP within walking distance I will be staying here again in a couple of months when I come back through Sioux Falls Reservations are made I highly recommend this place

Chad Stai

Well the blond guy with the beard screwed up our room twice The pool looks nice but don’t go in there unless you want chlorine poisoning They have no ventilation and they obviously don’t check the chlorine everyday

The chloramine values are through the roof Everyone’s eyes and throats were burning I’m guessing they have “maintenance” that has no idea how to run a pool Oh and good luck getting here with all the construction everywhere

I feel the price is a bit high for what you get though My personal preference for a bed is something on the softer side and these beds were pretty firm The pillows were also very soft and didn’t offer much in the way of support In the future, I will likely book somewhere else if staying in Sioux Falls

Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds and good views The staff here is so nice Everyone I encountered was super friendly/helpful and patient with my kids

Very family friendly One of the gentleman, overnight front desk workers was very kind to my son, who can be a handful, lol The woman who does breakfast was awesome too Thank you for a great stay ❤️

I was very impressed by this hotel! I read so many great reviews before I booked TripAdvisor had this hotel ranked #1 in the city, which surprised me because I never thought of the Comfort Inn line of hotels as special I was wrong, this is the finest hotel I’ve ever stayed at that was less than $140 per night

The rooms are spectacular and VERY clean The flooring is beautiful in entry way and bathroom, and the shower is nice as well My only wish is that the shower had more water pressure, but that’s not a big deal The pool and hot tub were very nice as well! Don’t spend $200-300 per night in other places! Save some money and get a better stay here! I will always use this hotel in Sioux Falls!

Honestly, loved this hotel I rented a King Suite, and the bed was super comfortable, the a/c got super cold, the shower was good pressure and nice and hot

wifi worked well Breakfast was hot too, biscuits and gravy, sausage links and eggs I kind of felt like princess and the pea throughout the night trying to pick which pillow I liked best I would absolutely stay here again

We found Cockroaches in our room 3 alive, one dead We told the front desk and she accused us of lying about it

We grabbed a ziplock from our car, caught a live one a brought it to her Then she accused of if finding the cockroach outside! Lol After she accused me and my children of lying, she reluctantly offered to switch rooms We obliged but then we found trash, on the mattress, from the last guest, on bed The sheets weren’t even changed Very dirty all around Carpets stained, musty smells, outdated, rude staff and bugs ( looked like cockroaches) I forgot to mention that the front desk lady accused of being “suspicious” bc we inquired about bed bug reviews we had read Worst customer service, ever! My kids were tired and this was a huge inconvenience If you’re in Sioux Falls area I can’t recommend this hotel but I highly recommend Comfort Inn and Suites in Avera We spent a week there and the rooms were clean, no bugs and their employees are very very kind too

The pros: very clean, great staff, great shower head and water pressure, and constant fan option on AC Price also very affordableCons: not much around it and my room was needing a new mattress

I was able to check-in via the app, as I usually do I was too tired to do in person, as I usually do (to see if I’m able to get a room upgrade) No complaints regarding the room, much

Comfortable and clean room with a very nice view of the Big Sioux River and bike trail—great for people watching and viewing the sunset Fantastic area for a stroll after dinner; the Arc of Dreams is just a few steps away and Falls Park is about a mile walk Many families around, so it feels fairly safeStaff at front desk was friendly Didn’t interact much this time Crave is the name of the restaurant on site Have my review of it elsewhere; great food and service Starbucks is on site, as well The gym, although small, fully functional and clean A big plus: free parkingMy room was a connecting room I slept well but was awaken by my neighbors about 1am Cursing and being loud Woman screaming, man asking her to calm down This lasted a good solid 20 minutes, as I attempted to go back to sleep I was about to call front desk, but chose not to, due to fear of retaliation later (solo female traveler here) Eventually went back to sleep, but woke up groggy Morning had a bit of the outside noise with construction and horn of a train(s)—but didn’t bother me as much as my neighborsAll in all, if it weren’t for the unruly neighbors, it would’ve been a more-than-pleasant stay

Great view of the river Right next to the river walk area Crave was downstairs

I definitely liked the Ambiance of it Real nice vibe I ordered the Chicken Wings, which weren’t really your typical chicken wings All parts connected, had to tear apart yourself Definitely not a fan of that mess The wings tasted good, just didn’t like having to fight with it, and you really can’t eat the winged tip anyway Next time I’ll just order the Steak

Sherry Cathey

This was a mother / daughter weekend The hotel was centrally located and convenient to so much in the downtown area Walking distance to several restaurants and boutiques

The staff are professional and they offer room service The crave restaurant is nice with a full bar and a wide variety of food including sushi!!We had a river view room with queen beds (306) and they were comfy The Starbucks was definitely a plus tooI would definitely recommend this hotel

Hilton is always the best I stay with them whenever I travel …if there is a Hilton in town

Beds are comfy Pillows are great Always cleanSince Covid even their restaurants are coming back on line…many were closed during the pandemic We ate here last night and it was great They have a bar too At check in we we’re given a buy one get one free coupon for the bar Sweet! They have nice outside seating if you choose to eat outside We have our pet with us so we ate outside They are usually also pet friendly They also have a pool and hot tub Great stayLove Hilton hotel chains❤️❤️❤️Addendum: So we ate dinner again tonight at the restaurant The margaritas were so sweet we didn’t drink them The pepperoni pizza we ordered we could not find any pepperoni We asked the waiter and he said yea it’s in this half We had ordered half with and without We eventually sent the pizza back because we had no clue where the pepperoni was I am vegetarian and didn’t want to eat pepperoni that might be under the cheese Later the same waiter told us “ oh we’re out of pepperoni There was not any pepperoni on the pizza”We ended up boxing up the salad and asking them to remove the pizza and sugary margaritas from the billThe worst dinner experience I have ever had at a Hilton in my 20 plus years of staying at Hilton’s I should have lowered the stars furtherWAY BELOW THE STANDARDS OF HILTON

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! (Review 5/18/22) This hotel is the worst Hilton I have ever stayed I checked in and went up to our room

Trash was piled up outside of the rooms into the hallway The room was very dirty Hairs everywhere in the bathroom and on blankets There was food inside the pull out couch when I pulled out It smelled awful I didn’t want to take off my shoes It was a dump I brought my child to the pool hoping this would reset the experience NOPE She fell and got hurt within minutes of arriving The pool was dirty There was hair everywhere in the drains I checked out and demanded my money back I did get the return I checked into the ClubHouse hotel and this was an AMAZING experience GO THERERUN! DON’T WALK!!!

Stay away Negative stars for poor customer service from the front desk/managementDiamond member, reserved a room 3 weeks ago specifically with a baby bed as we would be traveling with a 6 month old

Waited for 10 minutes at the front desk upon arrival as no one was working it Husband finally walked in to the back of the desk and someone came out No greeting, no “sorry for the wait” Just “last name” Then handed us a keyGot to the room and of course no baby bed Try to call down and the phones at the front desk, house keeping, and restaurant all had busy signals As in they had clearly been taken off the hookHusband walks down, and front desk says “you didn’t book a crib and we probably don’t have one, we will send one up if we have one”Of course a crib was not sent upCalled Hilton customer service line and they said they would call the manager They did, and of course it WAS listed on our reservation to have a crib, the manager said they “over looked it”We still have never spoken to the manager! Never received even an apologyHilton refunded us the room and told us we could go buy a pack n play ourselves and they would refund us the costFunny you would think the manager who boggled the reservation would offer to go out and do it themselves but instead we are out at 10 pm trying to find one10/10 for Hilton taking care of what the local branch didn’tHiding in the back leaving the front desk unmanned all night and being rude to customers is a weird look for a hospitality worker

The rooms are clean and basic but what made the stay exceptional was the staff We needed help with some logistical issues with some time-sensitive business and the staff quickly and cheerfully helped us out I could tell they were very busy, but they still stopped what they were doing and got us what we needed

We really appreciate everything they did for us!

The rooms are decent, you can tell have been recently updated, and they are currently updating their breakfast area Didn’t get much sleep last night (a Friday night) due to a large party down the hall have a very loud party with rap music until 3am and hallway was full of Marijuana smoke! But other then the loud party, the bed was a little on hard side, I personally prefer a more plush yet firm bed and pillows where a little the hard lumpy side I am not sure that I am getting my $175+taxs worth for my stay

Angela Hamilton

Not happy with this room, the beds are hard as a rock, very noisy, you can here other guests, the room i got had problems with the tub, couldnt get it to hold water and the water had a bad smell like sewage or something We talk to the guy at the front desk he couldnt help with the problem, he tried but it still would not hold the water The breakfast was not good either, there were scrambled eggs in a crock pot very watery and did not taste like eggs

The sausage were also in a crock pot but oddly the best part of the meal, the waffles were okay at best but they tasted more like pancakes in a waffle iron The orange juice was so watered down could not drink it and the apple juice was so syrupy couldnt drink it the coffee was okay but couldnt finish it The fruit look bad, and the cereal was stale Overall blah the swimming pool area smelled of mold and the water was so filthy couldnt see the bottom by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at I guess when i am paying 100 + dollars for a room for a single visit i expect things should at least be in working order and the beds should be comfortable Needless to say i will not be coming back to this hotel again
