I stayed for one night for a wedding occuring at the hotel The staff was welcoming and kind, however, aside from nice front desk employees, there were too many cons to make it worth the absurd priceI booked a room and they did not give me the block price because I called 20 days from the wedding

I was told the group discount expires a month prior to the wedding and I should have booked sooner Okay, fine The 1 night stay was $328 including taxes Okay, fineWe had no washcloths in the room They did not have air conditioning on in the hallways It was very stuffy and downright hot The walls were paper thin and I could hear every guest nearby coming and going My $300 room had a view of an enclosed corridor There were no chairs in the room with two queen beds The toilet paper was the cheapest stuff on earth The toiletries were no more than dove body wash bars Breakfast downstairs was sufficient with good portions and good service but was overpricedI feel like this hotel absolutely jacked the prices for guests of the wedding, failed to honor their discount rate, and lacked basic necessities in the rooms

Being an IHG customer for over 15 years I’m used to all what IHG has to offerSo with regards to this holiday inn I would give 4 stars mainly surrounding the pricing which is really high considering I’ve stayed in both the Intercontinental Hotels for cheaper in (could of been out of season though) Manhattan Even so the reception were very helpful, kind (even though the first day I was very jet lagged and I wasn’t firing on all cylinders) and professional

Rooms were comfortable with a nice bathroom and good working ACI’d recommend for a short stop over

Kathleen Corbisiero

This was the second time we have stayed here overnight and we will continue to choose this HI for future visits to Long Island The location is conveniently located between the north and south shores, easy to get to, and the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner The staff are all kind and courteous and the atmosphere in the lobby is very comfortable

The rooms are very comfortable and have great hot showers! A+

I’ve stayed here numerous times and have never had an unpleasant experience staying here The rooms are clean, smell fresh and clean when you walk inI’d like to take this review and give praise to the housekeepers that work there

The rooms I’ve stayed in were all extremely clean, smelled clean, the beds are made up very nice and neat I notice your hard work and always leave a tip for you in the room when I check out Your hard work shows and it’s appreciated Thank you 🙂

DAVID HICKEY

This has to be the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed at The carpets in the room were old and dirty Kept my shows on the entire time

The toilet bowl wasn’t even cleaned The room smelled like someone had been getting high The place is very old with furniture from the 70’s This place needs a major renovation If they were charging $25/night, it would have been to much Please stay away from this dirty Motel We only stayed to change before a wedding we were attending We ended up driving home after the wedding Do not Believe all of the other Reviews online If anyone is telling you this place is good don’t BELIEVE ITI’ve been traveling this country for 30 years on business and personal This just made it to the top of the Worst Motor Inn To Never Stay at

Stayed here today for a day use had a virtual meeting The front desk attendant was lovely and responsive Breakfast was also very nice

I tried to call and see if I could stay one more hour- I would have paid extra- however the attendant at the front did not let me get any more words out and was rather dismissive Would appreciate next time, if they could let me finish my sentence It was fine if it was a no and I am quite capable of I understanding that Otherwise, very nice and would stay there again Clean!!

You’re greeted upon entry by a wholesome fresh smell throughout the lobby and hallways nicely matching up to the modern aesthetic first impression visually And the room did not disappoint either Generous sized, spotlessly clean, airy with a well laid out bathroom and a practical kitchenette

I absolutely have no complaints about the service as the staff were all friendly and always willing to help Breakfast is okay

David Rahbany

Service makes the difference hereWhile 5 stars is a bit of a stretch when evaluating the quality of the rooms and food (really more like a 3-4 star hotel) the staff at this hotel are FIVE STARS They have all been very polite and helpful, giving me more than I expect at each and every turn

What a difference nice people make to an experience Bravo Marriott, keep these people on your team

My husband and I had to change hotels multiple times for our wedding Covid postponed it 4 times and it seemed like every date we got the hotel wasn’t able to accommodate our large group Holiday Inn took care of us and made sure that our guest and us were taken care of

They gave us space to be able to do hair and makeup and gave us the option to keep the bar open late! We had a BLAST and they were pleasant every step of the way! We had our wedding 8/14/21

Last time I stayed here the fire alarm went off every hour for 4 hours between 1am and 5am I ended up checking out earlyThe room is disgustingly dirty and nothing feels clean

The room originally given to me was preoccupied The second room the carpet felt dirty and had crumbs all over the placeThe bed was saggy and not comfortable at all It was by far the worst stay at a hotel I ever hadThe location to the highway is probably the best part of this hotel

Gene Melton

The rooms were nice and clean and appeared to be recently remodeled The staff at the desk were friendly and accommodating When I checked in I was told the hotel had not started serving breakfast yes because of the pandemic but the did serve lunch and dinner

The website said continental hot breakfast served Guess the owners are too cheap to serve breakfast and use the pandemic as an excuse The cons was the halls smelled like marijuana at any time of day I figure the staff were in their work areas smoking marijuana No matter what time I returned, always some shady characters sitting in the parking lot or outside the buildings I would watch them approach cars for about a minute and car would drive off Selling drugs? not sure but that seemed to be what was going on Never felt safe walking from the car to the front doors No one ever threatened me but I was watched real hard walking in I travel to the area on business Definitely will not stay their again and I would not recommend others to stay there especially if you are a lone woman or a family with kids

I have been traveling more frequently and try to stay at Holiday Inns This decision is based off of my confidence in Holiday Inn I am able to comfortably stay at a hotel with the cleanliness and amenities within my budget

Unfortunately my past 3 stays made me feel that the brand’s customer service is not of importance to the company I had to travel to Long Island recently and this branch was everything I think of when staying at a hotel The room was immaculately cleaned, my bed was a cloud, the decor is updated, the woman who checked me in was professional and seemed happy to meet us and the breakfast was hot, fresh and delicious 😋

Saran Kaur

From the booking process to the check out process, everything went smoothly! Customer service was excellent! I booked the room the day of and was able to get a double queen room for a pretty decent price, considering all other hotels in the area were booked! Check in starts at 3PM, I didn’t make it to the hotel until 7/8ish PM but the wonderful receptionist did give me a call to make sure I was going to make it, and reassured me that my reservation was secure (I hadn’t paid yet, did the whole pay at location option) Housekeeping had done a good job with cleaning the room and restocking! As you can tell from pictures, there was enough parking (they had more in back), views weren’t anything special but decent for a hotel right off the highway Overall had a good stay!

Grace Wilson

The desk attendant who checked us in kept talking to her coworker in Spanish while checking us in Stayed for 5 nights room was only cleaned the first morning and the fourth day Called front desk to advise them that our room had not been cleaned for 2 days

They sent up clean towels and assured us that our room would be cleaned the following day Had to empty our own garbages Note slipped under the door advising that the room would only be cleaned the following day if we requested it Called front desk and the lady said we had been added to list already because the room was not cleaned for two days The next day room was not cleaned Went to the front desk who advised that they were not aware that we had requested that the room be cleaned Breakfast was good Requested a wake up call for day of departure that was not received

Went for dinner and drinks with work friends We were a group of 8 people Had called in advance for seating and the table was set and ready for us at the appointed time

They sat us right by the fish tank which is very pretty The waitress, Kathy, was excellent and courteous We all had the price fix meal which was great Appetizer, dinner and dessert It was spaced out perfectly, not rushed but not so long between courses for us to wonder where our food was This allowed us to enjoy our dinner and have nice conversation It was a great evening Everybody enjoyed the food, the surroundings and the service

I love this Residence Inn by Marriott! It is one of the nicest I’ve ever stayed and everyone was super niceWe had an event for our stay and the staff made it so memorable It was the perfect venue and our guests were blown away at how nice the hotel is

The hotel is tucked off Old Country Rd which makes it so quiet and comfortable The rooms are very spacious and luxurious I really like having a kitchen in the room for leftovers or to keep drinks cold The breakfast every morning is tasty and it’s awesome that it’s offeredI recommend if your staying or planning to stay on Long Island to stay here!

Nice hotel if you are in the area for an extended stay The rooms have all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay Enough TV channels to keep you entertained, free wired and wireless wifi that is fast enough for most of your needs

Free breakfast every morning with a good selection of things to eat and an awesome full free dinner from Monday to Thursday including beer and wineIt looks like a hotel from the 60’s/70’s by the decor, but it is really well maintained and charmingTwo pools and a really nice patio in the rear of hotel to make the most of your time here

I stayed here over the weekend of August 12th 2022 Location was excellent for my needs The front desk staff were very nice! This is an older facility and could use some refreshing

The bed was comfy and the AC worked wellOnly one light bulb, of the three, in the bathroom vanity area were working The bathtub did not fully drain leaving a puddle that made an ugly ring My room was not serviced by housekeeping during my stay even though I requested service at the front desk at 1 pm In all, a below average experience for a Residence Inn and a bit pricey

Sarah Sumrall

I chose this hotel because they advertise an airport shuttle, which they do not have in service Therefore, I had to spend nearly $50 for an Uber Additionally, I had an early flight

The checking person told me there would be a few breakfast items to grab on my way out However, there was nothing, not even coffee available with no one in sight at the front desk The room at least was very nice and clean

David Wright

This place has really gone downhill Sofas and chairs are ancient and sag to a point of being unusable The counters are wiped clean but it it is clear from the grease on cupboards that others have been cooking there

Air conditioner is so noisy you can’t sleep No hot water one night The staff is friendly and helpful but clearly the place is not taken care of

This was a beautiful hotel! Google maps said it would take longer to get to the train station, but it’s literally across the street This made going into New York City very easy The rooms were HUGE and very clean! The hand towels had the garden city logo on them and the robes were unbelievably comfortable

The beds were great to sleep in My wife made friends with a few of the housekeeping ladies After a full day of traveling to get here, then waking up early to go to the city, we were in dire need of water The housekeepers were super nice and gave us quite a few bottles!! It went a long way in terms of serviceMy cousin had his rehearsal dinner at this hotel I have to say all the food was delicious My wife is a Mac and cheese connoisseur, and she said the Mac and cheese at their pasta bar was in her top 3 EVER The desserts that were served were just as good I’m not sure if I’ll ever have a reason to do an event at this hotel, but it is one that I will remember foreverMany of the women on my cousin’s side of the family decided to get their hair and makeup done together at the salon in the hotel They all had a ton of fun and looked beautiful! My mom and wife could not stop raving about how good everyone did Everyone working here was very professional and clearly very good in their field

Jeff Clark

The staff is wonderful, capped off by Anthony (Tony) at the front desk The common areas are wonderfully clean, with staff walking the space throughout the day We were in the pool and witnessed a staff member walk the gym and pool area, then minutes later another staff member came down to mop some shoe prints on the pool deck

Great team work was evident throughout our stay, and housekeeping was attentive, remembered that we had children with us, and quietly knocked as to not disturb them well deserving of our tip! Don’t forget to tip, the team deserves it

Plushee One

I liked it but

Beautiful historic hotel that could use a freshening Lobby, spa, restaurants are lovely, the staff is welcoming (especially Gary at the front desk and our bellhop Luis) but the rooms are faded (and we stayed in the penthouse) Small updates would make all the difference, like table lamps with outlets in them and lighter color schemes This place ain’t cheap and they can do better

I can’t even believe how amazing this hotel is Pulled up in front and the guy is there with the luggage cart waiting Another person immediately takes an ice cream cake I’m holding and puts it in a freezer

Another person is waiting at the desk to check me in Get to the room the man that brought everything up to the room unloads everything and doesn’t leave until he makes sure everything is as expected I rented a regular room for one night my daughter and 3 friends and an joining one for me I asked if they could have a table set aside for my daughters birthday dinner They called me the day before I arrived to not only tell me they would have a special table but that they would make special menus with her name on it Went over all safe food because we had one child with allergies I can’t even tell you how many little things each person working here did to make our stay special because there were so many! For dinner They had a room to themselves with their own waitress, they decorated the table with different color napkins in each glass and a birthday sign This was all done as standard service, all I paid for was the rooms! The pool is amazing! The desk found out two of my daughters friend had to leave for a short time and they offered to keep the pool open later so they didn’t miss out on any pool timeI’ve never stayed at such an amazing hotel!

Update- I was refunded $50

honestly at that rate don’t bother refunding money, id just take the loss My family got about as much sleep as we’d have gotten if we slept in a tent in the parking lot and it would have been a heck of a lot less expensive I’ll be staying at the Marriott down the road next time we’re in town Do not recommendPositives- sufficiently safe and no bedbugs Also the staff at breakfast was lovely and helpfulNegatives- sticky floor, dirty walls, hair all over the bathroom, no fresh towels, no working vending machines, but the best part was the fire alarm in our bedroom going off at 2am when we were sleeping After calling the front desk, who very nonchalantly told us to call back if it went over again (it did), we had to wait for someone to come upstairs to look at it Apparently there was a miscommunication between them and the front desk because the gentleman who came into our room spent a few moments trying to wrench the thermostat off the wall, leaving piles of wall on the floor before we pointed out the problem was with the fire alarm He removed it and told us they’d replace it the next morning They did not We had to call multiple times to have them send someone up with what I’d consider a basic safety requirementOther notes: everything is outdated, the walls are thin and you can hear everything

Matt Fisher

This is a fabulous hotel with very clean rooms and the most magnificent pool and hot tub! The staff was friendly and took care of all our needs right away and the food at the breakfast buffet was exceptional I highly recommend the omelet station and fresh baked croissants even the kids were raving about all the choices!!! Very spacious rooms and a gorgeous lobby bar with lounge seating all around was the icing on the cake!

We booked a block of rooms in December 2021 and also planned a dinner at the hotel for 25 guests We worked with Rosemarie Tibball, Sales Manager on all the details including menu, room set up for the dinner, guest coupons for breakfast and giving out gift bags during check in Rosemarie was always available to respond to questions and also made herself available to meet with us in person

The hotel was recently renovated The rooms and lobby were modern and spotless clean All the staff including the front desk, server during our buffet dinner and servers at breakfast were all excellent The food for the dinner buffet was delicious Would definitely recommend this hotel!

We were here for a wedding this past weekend I was part of a bridal party so I had no choice but to stay here for the weekend My room was absolutely disgusting

I spoke to front desk manager and they did credit me $50 for the inconvenience I have videos of spider webs all along the window sill, headboard, and lamp There was no cold water, and carpet was sticky While checking out, someone also at front desk told me that they don’t usually put anyone in room 254, and were shocked we were given this room The AC hardly worked unless you put it on really low I understand this is a 3-star hotel, but with a name like ‘Hilton” you’d think the cleanliness would be better I felt like I was in a jail cell Very upset with my stay here Don’t recommend until they actually go through with their renovation

The best part of our stay was Josie at the front desk We have never had better customer service! She was kind, took an interest in remembering things we talked with her about, made sure we had everything we needed and was just amazing! The hotel itself is very nice, as well Comfortable beds, clean and a nice outdoor seating area with fire pits

I highly recommend this hotel!

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Melville before and after our wedding at Westbury Manor and absolutely loved it Around 60 of our guests also stayed at the hotel and they kindly put the rooms together that we requested The rooms were super clean and well presented and the spacious executive suite was great for getting ready for my wedding! We also enjoyed having a farewell breakfast for our guests in the pretty atrium with lots of natural light

Friendly and helpful staff all throughout the weekend Highly recommend!

Rooms do not cool down much but maintenance man was sweet and did the best he could and brought me a much appreciated fan TV information definitely not correct with regards to room service as information is for their rewards program guests but does not indicate that anywhere Front desk staff were amazing

Rooms very clean Coffee in the lobby gets removed by 8 am which is way too early to remove, in my opinion Limited restaurant menu but does offer room delivery for $5 on top of very overcharged food for what is offered All in all would still stay here again, just know to ask for a fan especially if you are hot natured like myself

Large rooms, convenient location, clean Pet friendly for a pretty stiff fee ($75 per stay) Breakfast decent for a free hotel breakfast

Staff was super nice My only complaints are the shower head is awful Water is very hard And the carpets in the pet friendly rooms are always dampish Not great to walk on All in all, good place to stay and I’ll stay again

I stayed there for almost 2 months for two years in a row They should have welcomed me as regular guest but instead of that they showed me very much attitude Staff was very unprofessional

I always used to even tip them to clean my room but my room was never cleaned properly Also one day they randomly told me that I have to leave the hotel for playing loud music in my room They could have gave me warning but instead of that they asked me to leave!! I’ll never forget this horrible experience I had to face, staff was racist, rude & unprofessional I’m a Hampton inn regular customer but the location in garden city is the worse one, they really need to work on the hotel staff, I wasn’t living there for FREE!!!!!!

Nicholas Millington

The front desk staff was unprofessional and unfriendly My room was not cleaned for 3 days Apparently at this hotel you have to affirmatively request for your room to be cleaned no less than 24 hours in advance

First time domestically or internationally I’ve seen a hotel implement this type of policy There was a frigid draft coming into my hotel room from below the AC/heat unit I ended up booking and using a different hotel for the remainder of my stay Much better experience and only 5 minutes away

The rooms are super clean, on site laundry was great, the indoor pool was great for the kids, and in the evenings it is great to sit outside by the fire pitThis hotel and staff should be a model for other hotels on how to be clean and provide excellent service!

This hotel is very nice! Comfortable and clean room, floors are well kept, and the grounds are very decorative Minor issues with my stay: bathroom sink handle was loose, new parking charge implemented (complimentary when I had made the reservation), and some communication issues I called prior to the reservation and was told breakfast was buffet style, then during check in I learned it was made to order and a separate charge

I must have missed something but this along with the new parking charge had me stressed out the night of check in Fortunately the daily parking charge was removed during check out with receipt of my email reservation
