I love this unique and charming hotel! I loved learning and reading about the history of this property The communal space and lounge area was unique and comforting – gorgeous fireplace! The hotel smelled nice and the rooms were big There was parking out back that was easily accessible and I even used the business center to work from

Location was in the heart of downtown and had great coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance This hotel had everything Most importantly, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and even gave my service animal a doggy bag upon check in!

The Montvale Hotel is in an excellent location We parked and walked to every attraction — waterfalls, shopping, great restaurants, Fox Theater, Davenport, etc — that we cared to see

The room was spacious, minimalist and clean The beds were very comfortable I loved that the rooms were all placed around a beautiful lounge with a fireplace; it felt as though I were leaving my master suite to sit and enjoy my living room (though MUCH grander than my actual living room, of course) Check in and check out could be done by phone and we loved that convenience Enjoy your stay at The Montvale Hotel!

This hotel is really cool! The layout and the finishing touches were fabulous There was seating in the indoor courtyard and gray art The feel was early 19th century

Our bed was pretty soft and that is not My wife and my preferred mattress hardness Restaurants and parking readily available The parking lot was right behind the building or another one on the other side of the block and fenced in We could see the train but not really hear it Great stay except the soft mattress

This hotel is amazing

the front desk staff are top notch especially Lisa she was such a pleasant, fun lady Very roomy rooms and clean The breakfast in the morning is very good and tasty The only thing is right across the street at 7-11 is a large amount of sketchy folks I felt very safe though in the hotel as security is top priority for the guests here We will be back soon Please tell Lisa she is doing an amazing job and we enjoyed her laughter as we had small talk

We stayed here so we could drop our daughter off at the airport early the next morning (4:30am), as we live 2 hours awayThe staff was very friendly, the entire hotel was very clean, and the rooms were comfortableWe actually came back after dropping off our daughter and slept a couple more hours before checking out

We opted to go out to breakfast (had a special destination in mind since we were visiting from out of town), but the full breakfast on site smelled amazingConvenient location and easy to findWe will definitely stay here again

Dana Pound

Easy access to I5 & everything that downtown has to offer I wasn’t sure about it when I got there because of the homeless/addicts everywhere around the hotel, but I felt very safe & comfortable The room I was checked in to smelled like old smoke that housekeeping tried to rid of with some deodorizer spray, but it was still very strong

The front desk guy moved me to a different room right away without questions/hesitation, and it was much better The breakfast options were not something I normally eat, and I was disappointed in the absence of fruit

Loved this hotel!!! Highly recommend it for sure! Staff were Amazing, Rooms were clean, Breakfast Bar was sooo good, lots of variety, the breakfast bar host was so nice and hard working, had a nice guest laundry room, beautiful lobby and outside patios to sit and enjoy overlooking the downtown, plus close location and walking distance to downtown Spokane Only downfall to this hotel was no pool or hot tub All in all we had a very pleasant stay and we will be back again!!

Stacy Artz

This hotel looks nice enough on the outside, when we checked into our room the sheets on the bed had clearly not been changed There was make up or a stain of some kind on the pillow case and hair in the bed I called the front desk and they offered to switch rooms, entered the second room and pulled back the covers to again find hair in the bed and sheets that had not been changed, was given a third room again hair on the sheets and what looked like blood

At this point I just asked for my money back and was going to find another place Staff was extremely rude told me since I booked through a third party they can do nothing for a refund I called bookingcom who I had scheduled with and they said they had to get approval from the hotel to refund my money The same staff who I spoke to denied my refund and said I was lying the rooms were fine I took pictures and had even shown them to one of the staff At no point did anyone offer to change the sheets or send a new pair of sheets which could have easily solved the problem I have never been treated so rudely by hotel staff in my life I will be sending the pictures to the general manager and contacting corporate office There is no reason to expect a guest to sleep on dirty sheets and no reason to not at least offer to send up a new set of sheets If I could give them a zero I would

Shereen Gould

Incredibly unprofessional and rude I was told that I didn’t have a reservation and the front desk person wanted to argue with me when I was completely okay with a room change from a king to a queen It was bizarre

When I asked where to park because the lot was full (which I was okay with) the front desk person told me to park in the handy capped parking One I’m not handy capped and two it’s illegal, and I felt like she was trying to set me up to to get towedAlso my room didn’t lock from the inside so I put the hasp on, and a door hanger House keeping kept knocking and trying to open the door even after they realized it was the hasp was on When they were vacuuming they kept slammed the vacuum into the doorI ended up getting up and leaving even though I paid for another day I was told I couldn’t get a refund or cancel because it wasn’t 24 hours in advance and I used a 3rd party companyI visit Spokane every other week and I’m always looking for a place to stay for a few days to a week Lost my business

Love this hotel!!! Friendly service, beautiful, clean hotel Love the location, just across from the river Plenty of lighting in the rooms, which is usually my complaint in other hotel rooms

Large rooms with plenty of storage for clothing Bathrooms had plenty of counter space with space under the counter as well They offer all the free water you want during your stay I had an issue during my stay and Taylor went above and beyond to rectify the situation Will definitely stay here again!

Elizabeth Boss

The hotel was nice, however, there was a huge party going on in the suite next to me that extended into the hallway I called “At Your Service” twice asking if there was anything they could do to get the party quieted I selected the top floor “Penthouse Suite” (which, I’m guessing there are several floors with all rooms similar) and a room at the far end from the elevator hoping it would be a quiet room

I paid extra for a room I thought would be quiet and was quite disappointed I would not recommend this hotel unless you’re part of the party

Brekyn Worbes

We really enjoyed our experience! The view of downtown was beautiful The hotel bar’s drink are absolutely amazing and the food there is delicious Our room was spacious, clean, modern design

No mini fridge or microwave but still great The showers was super cool and big Staff was friendly and eager to help Vale was well worth the little up charge The location is PERFECT Close to bars, restaurants, and the river Highly recommend!!!

Great little hotel right on the river! Perfect for any event in the areaWe made last minute reservations just a day before we were going to check in without a single problem Great rates and easy digital check in/out

Large on-site outdoor parking lot (not gated) Staff was friendly and welcoming! The hotel had a nice swimming pool as well as a playground and outdoor gamesOnly a 10 minute walk right along the river to Spokane ArenaRooms were spacious, very clean, and seemed to be recently renovated They even had a nice/new bathroom with a walk-in glass shower and complimentary bath productsThe only “downside” was that the hotel was very busy and the hallways were loud during the day (to be expected) However, it did seem to quiet down after dark and we had no issues sleeping or anythingOverall, I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Spokane for a quick trip! Great spot, especially in the summer!

Katie Hernandez

Such a fun, affordable , enjoyable hotel! Staff was friendly and helpful The hotel had 2 outdoor pools to accommodate both ages of my children! It was a beautiful spot right next to the river Plenty of space to walk and enjoy the river

We also enjoyed the outdoor play area that had giant connect 4, corn hole and a play area for the littles Bar had a nicely priced and delicious happy hour It was a great experience We will be back!

Traveling Gypsysoul

The pool is the best part! While the hotel itself looks to have had some renovations (new paint, interior furniture, wall decor) the building itself is old and not in the best shape While checking in at 9pm out front desk agent was less than friendly and when asking questions I simply go a “I’m going to give you a paper that says everything just wait!” No early check in and no late checkout allowed durning my stay Walking into my room there was trash left on the floor just under the bed(unfortunate but not a big deal) the pool was wonderful and worth every penny to have a pool side room

We were saddened by the fact that on a Friday night the pool was not open later (only until 11) opened the following day at 9am Overall we had a comfortable stay, but had it not been for the pool…it wouldn’t have been worth the price

Great beds! Great service! Delicious breakfast! My best stay anywhere in the last year! Everything very clean and updated! They take pride in their presentation and delivery of services! Well worth the extra $30 over the quality inn down the road! We rent hotel rooms so we have a place to sleep and most places have lumpy, soft beds that are impossible to sleep on, but not this place!! Nice firm and updated mattresses! I highly recommend!

Austin Pourier

Pretty nice It’s about what you would expect Clean with friendly staff and our room was nice enough

No complaints reallyBreakfast wasn’t bad by any means but nothing to write home about Definitely better than many placesThe hot tub did have crazy amounts of chlorine Straight burned our eyes out just sitting in there for maybe 10 min

Shade 7

Stayed here for nearly a full week The room was clean and pleasant The nights were quiet

The beds were a bit too firm for my tastes, but I think most people would like them, I just prefer a very soft mattressOverall it was a great experience and I’d happily stay here again if I come through Spokane again

Rooms were very clean, especially the shower which was super nice too! The bathroom was a tad small but to be expected in a renovated building of this type For the price this was an amazing stay! Normally it’s difficult to sleep well in hotel rooms but we could actually consistently control the temperature from the heating unit and the bed was very comfortable! Good location for downtown Spokane and the hotel bar seemed cool even though we didn’t go in

Johnmarc Candelaria

Hotel Ruby does the job well while being located in such an awesome location at a decent price! If you want or need to be in Downtown Spokane, I don’t see why you shouldn’t consider Hotel Ruby as your place to stay The property looks very chic and the rooms are clean The front lobby staff were friendly and welcoming

However, the location is the best part about Hotel Ruby since Downtown Spokane has a lot to offerThe only knock I would give on the Hotel is the noise that enters the room If a neighbor is awake and having a conversation at night, be prepared to use the provided ear plugs (yes, we found ear plugs when we walked into our room) or any other noise cancelling tools as you might struggle to fall asleep due to the noise Furthermore, it seems like the hotel parking area was always full at night, so that is another consideration to make if you are driving to the propertyAll in all, Hotel Ruby was a great place to stay for my visit to Spokane

Elizabeth Backstrom

Great hotel in the heart of downtown, walkable and close to everything Only downside is not much parking in front of the hotel but they do have parking lots nearby I think if I had a lot to unload from my car this could be a pain but if you’re a single traveler or have a smaller amount of stuff, it’s not a problem

Friendly staff, quiet and a nice area, I will stay again

It was very nice and remodeled Parking was convenient Rooms were nice and big

Was nice having a couch and table We were there for a week We were hoping the breakfast would be different food items everyday but it was always the same but the food was good Scrambled Eggs, Sausage links; Biscuits and gravy Fruits, different kinds of cereal, oatmeal, yogurts, muffins, bagels, toast and Waffles Juices, coffee, hot chocolate and milk The pool and hot tub was nice and the exercise room Was very pleased they allowed dogs and cats that was a BIG PLUS that helped a lot! Overall, great place, left happy and would definitely come again!!!

Lloyd Martin

This is another excellent hotel, inexpensive yet very comfortable and well-kept Our room had 2 queen beds, a desk with chair, and a couch, something you rarely see any more The TV was a perfect size for the room and was easy to use, not requiring a PhD in electronics like many TVs nowadays

We were able to park close to the entrance which is a huge plus, and they have special parking for both veterans and handicap next to the entrance as well It was very quiet and the continental breakfast was goodnot great, but very good: waffles, cereals, fruit, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, several fruit juices (including sugar-free!), coffee, and a good selection of teas

ema kridler

Just checked out and wow, what a fantastic experience! Stylish decor, clean and tidy facilities, beyond comfy beds, and the pool/hot tub were open 24 hrs My bridesmaids and I were in town for my bachelorette and our original lodging fell through the same night we came into town We called the hotel directly and got the best service! Stayed three days, two nights, and were so comfortable there! Would absolutely recommend and return

I booked over a month ago requesting the top floor Upon arrival they said they were booked and gave me the second floor out of 4 The non smoking room smelled like stale smoke

The beds sounded and felt like they were on rusted metal bed frames The room was very hot and no air conditioning, but again they were ‘full’ so we just had to deal with it Couldn’t even open a window Pictures made it look like a brand new hotel but it is clearly old and just remodeled Will never stay here again Now I will listen to all the pounding on the floor above me for $15000 Beyond annoyed Very poor accommodationsOnly good thing is the location Not worth the money

Paula Davis

I was extremely disappointed with this stay Check-in took forever (I know, I know they’re understaffed like everyone else, yet they’re still charging the same fees even though the service is incredibly poor) I typically pick my own room in the app, but the hotel picked my room and I was told that it was the only room left on the top floor

The shower handle wouldn’t stay in a set position so you could choose your temperature, so it was either cold or scalding hot The toilet handle was super loose and it was very hard to get the toilet to flush I’m a Hilton Honors customer who will be Diamond Level by June I travel 18 nights a month I was given a room facing construction (loud) that was happening next door The fridge wasn’t clean I was told upon checkout that I would be given extra rewards points for my “trouble” but it’s been almost two weeks and that hasn’t happened, nor has a manager reached out to me A manager was there when I checked out and let them know about all the problems I definitely will not stay at this location again

Trisha Horton

So

the room was clean and comfy The staff was nice Breakfast was one of the best I’ve experienced in a hotel But, while checking in, a couple people came down to say that the room they were given was already occupied even though their keys worked, another individual voiced to us also while we were in the elevator that his key opened up a room that was occupied We had to re-clarify that our reservation was for 2 nights after we noticed the slip of paper that you receive the key had the incorrect check out date Our own keys stopped working half way through our stay, (I’m assuming our checkout date was wrong still because it stopped working right at checkout time) we had four $75 dollar incidental fees that we were told were going to drop off but couldn’t explain them We ended up staying in 2 different rooms, while in the second, we received another incidental charge for the first room We were not able to log into the wifi due to the previous guest’s name being attached to the room number Overall it seems like maybe staff members aren’t entirely trained on certain things and are struggling The pool seemed nice although we never went inside People complained about the chlorine smell but that’s what you get with an enclosed indoor pool area 🤷 Overall it wasn’t a terrible experience but it could of definitely been better

Extremely friendly staff This hotel has everything you need at a discounted price if you have a loved one at Sacred Heart hospital It’s a short and easy walk to the hospital, they have coffee made and fresh water day and night and a Continental breakfast

Guest laundry etc But really the best thing is how supportive and accommodating the staff is I had no idea how long I was going to need a room for, they set me up with 4 nights and if I needed to leave early it was no problem The staff is awesome, rooms are clean and comfortable

Angela Fuller

We absolutely LOVED this hotel We will definitely stay here next time we come to Spokane The woman at the front desk was so kind

She upgraded our room to a slightly bigger room because of our kids The room was huge and perfect The beds were comfortable and the rooms really clean Also it was SO quiet, I couldn’t hear anyone The free breakfast in the am was so good Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, biscuits and gravy and so much more The staff is really friendly too I highly recommend this hotel

Randal Ownbey

Very fun historic section of town and also a bit of a challenge to get to For being so close to business and the hospital it was also just about as remote as (I imagine) you can get and still be within the city properThe view out the window was interesting to say the least

This was the first hotel I’ve stayed in where I could look out the window and see wild turkeys! And just a few blocks away on the way in we saw several deer!In a nutshell the rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and the parking lot was almost completely full

PROS- clean, very nice housekeepers, the staff is very quick on response to questions or needsCONS- outdated interior, very thin walls as neighbors dogs were very loud and she did not abide by quiet hours! She was slamming doors frequently with her frequent smoke breaks and dogs yelping as early as 5am! I was harassed at the beginning of my stay with two calls at work and couple emails for my dogs barking whenever someone walked past my doorway DURING QUIET HOURS This was a result of a previous neighbor who worked nights and of course any sound during the day is an issue! They finally made a decision and moved him! The CURRENT neighbor stated she’s sorry her dogs are loud and mine are quiet and she went on to say she apologized to the manager and he just jokingly responded with “that’s okay they will protect my tools”!

My work as a traveling Nurse brought me to this beautiful city for a short time While searching for a temporary living place I found Turning Leaf Townhomes From their online reviews to the operator taking my call, I could tell this place was special

Better than most places I have ever stayed at So clean, cool and quite I just melted into my soft cool bed after a long days work and slept like a baby This place really represented Spokane and treated me as if we have known each other my whole life If I come back I will stay at any of their properties, also if I get to retirement age, Spokane will be my home town

I’m local but in the middle of a move and I really just needed a break from the chaos so I stayed here during a weeknight The rate was very reasonable, rooms and lobby were super clean, the pool room was a great temp and had toys for kids, nice little gift shop for snacks and toys for little ones and all the staff was extremely friendly They also had a great hot breakfast and cookies in the evening

This truly felt like a mini vacation and I thought oils rate this hotel higher if I could!

We stayed here specifically because they are maybe the most dog friendly hotels in Spokane The report of this is trueWhile the hotel is a bit older- it is kept clean by the staff

They have a large indoor pool and jacuzzi and decent exercise roomThe staff was hard working and friendly- gave my Doberman treats and would stop and talk to himThe breakfast was good- about exactly what you would expect Not mind-blowing- but good (This is not a criticism- just a description )Overall good value – excellent place if your dog is traveling with you Would definitely stay here again

We stayed at the comfort Inn and Suites in Medicine Hat Albert The rooms were very nice and Sandra the general manager was great We had some issues with some rooms, we had 39 rooms booked

Sandra was very cool under the pressure of many people coming at her at once She solved all our problems in a timely manner Sandra and her staff went above and beyond to make sure that everyone had what they needed over the next 2 days The breakfast was good and they made sure that the athletes were able to take bottled water, fruits and fresh baked muffins with them every dayThank you so much,

Shantell Omalley

Very nice hotel! Upgraded us to a suite for free!! The front desk staff were friendly, easy check in! The room was clean and it was relatively quite, considering how close to the freeway you are! Great view of the valley! Easy access to the freeway and a few places to eat right across the street The spa and pool are very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed! For the price it was excellent and I would definitely recommend!

I had a reservation for Saturday 3/19/22 and unexpectedly my daughter ended up in the hospital I called the hotel to reschedule and explained the situation, they refused to waive the fee and reschedule I was going to be charged $277 and instead sleep in the hospital

Life happens and i had plans to go on a family trip yet my daughter was released Saturday at 3pm and we were forced to drive or loose the money Thankfully my daughter was feeling better and we ended up goingi had my daughters hospital bracelet and hospital paperwork but no manager on site They accommodated us in a completely different room with 1 bed instead of the 2 beds i had paid the $277 for and left it at the same rate as if i were getting all the amenities i origally was charged for,When i got there to check in as soon as the receptionist saw my name her attitude changed in a negative way My husband asked a question and she rudely answered We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable The ladies from the breakfast area were awesome That is about the only people that approached us nicelywill not be back for any business trips as we always book our trips here with my work company and we bring lots of business to this hotel

The service, room, and occasion was great I cannot talk about the pool and hot tub Comfortable beds, room was spacious for a double queen

The breakfast buffet was good, crowded room, the tables were emptying faster than the staff could clean them The staff were working as fast as they could; refilling food trays, coffee and hot water urns, and cleaning tables

As soon as we arrived, we were met by a very sweet employee who asked if we would like some dinner She served all of us and brought our food and drinks to a table She mentioned to my kids that they would be serving cookies soon, and made them feel so special

The room was nice Clean, comfy beds Dove products in the shampoo/soap dispensers, which is a nice upgrade from standard hotel soap The A/C unit was a little noisy, but nothing too majorThe pool is cold, but the pool room is a very nice temperature, and the hot tub works! (Which is rare for a Holiday Inn) The pool and hot tub were both clean The laundry room was clean and all machines were in working order The fitness room was also clean and all equipment in working orderGreat stay and awesome employees!

This is a nice hotel We have always enjoyed Holiday Inn Express The staff person at check in was friendly and helpful but when I needed help later that night he was out smoking with friends

Seemed weird especially when his sign said he was called away to help someone The beds were extremely comfortable and that’s saying a lot because of my back arthritis The breakfast was great as usual, and I really enjoyed eating on the patio All in all, we would stay here again

Vira Evans

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a hotel This site will compare countless hotel sites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in the area

I have been staying here for years If you decide to stay here you definitely won’t be let downWe love this hotel- the staff is so nice (everyone but notably front desk Ben!) The Manager’s Reception in the evenings with complimentary soup/breadsticks and drinks (perfect after my kids wore themselves out at the nice, clean pool) is pretty tasty Super clean rooms and delicious breakfast that differs a little each day The location is perfect for walking downtown- close to everything Room views are gorgeous We love staying here!

Great hotel! Staff really makes this hotel a 5 star My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary, there was wine and chocolate in our room! The front desk was also friendly and helpful The room was comfortable and spacious

Perfect location for a walk on the riverside Would highly recommend and I’d stay here again 🙂

Chris Royse

I booked my room through a 3rd party and that was my only mistake! I wanted a balcony room over looking the river and the view for my 1 year anniversary After booking the room I arrived to find a room that wasn’t comparable to the one I had booked The staff couldn’t accommodate as they tried due to them being booked

So I stayed in the room for the night I notified management of the reason I was wanting that specific room and the General Manager was amazing He sent me a Gift Certificate for another visit so I can make up the stay to my beautiful GF! Good work OS’s and thank you again kind manager! Will definitely recommend as the facility is amazing, staff was great, and the breakfast wasn’t bad for a hotel BF!

My mother & I recently stayed here and had my brothers wedding rehearsal dinner here Not only was the room very comfortable and beautiful but the staff was amazing! The manager Travis took care of everything we need to ensure a wonderful evening The head chef, staff and Travis went above and beyond for us

This was an amazing stress relief as we are from Massachusetts and being 3000 miles away Travis made us feel as ease and was extremely accommodating We will definitely be staying here again!

Larry Reviews

Good downtown location with plenty in walking distance The rooms seemed clean and comfortable The rooms are slightly dated seeming, but not terrible

The bar/restaurant downstairs has decent selection and the servers were attentive There is also a coffee shop on the lobby area Walk to plenty of attractions and easy access to public transportation

Ashley

Be cautious staying at this hotel For the high cost, you will be disappointed We checked in early and the front desk told us the lock had just been changed on our room and said the room was ready

We went up to the room and noticed the door was being held open Was a bit eerie but we went into the room anyway We noticed it seemed clean enough other than the pile of sawdust left on the floor from the lock replacement The keys we were given didn’t work so we went back downstairs for new ones We turned on our do not disturb for the whole weekend yet housekeeping entered our room anyway and took all of our towels without replacing them It took them about a half an hour to bring new ones, which one of them was stained and disgusting We spoke to a manager that night and we were happy with the compensation given for this experience However, that same night we were getting ready for bed and noticed that our comforter was filthy We called the desk and asked for a new one We were given another one that was even more disgusting It looks like mildew all over it We asked again for another blanket The hotel told us they walked to the other hotel to get us a “brand new” blanket It was the same exact thing Full of mildew We slept with a sheet that night On Sunday, they told us there were no managers available to speak to on the weekend even though we had spoken to one the night before We then got a call from the manager who was unwilling to reimburse us for this trip that was filled with issues He also tried making excuse after excuse for the disgusting blankets He told us the blankets are “aged” and the “feathers are burnt” inside the comforter Look at the pictures for yourself The comforters had 0 feathers in them Paying $800+ for a weekend at a hotel you would expect it to be much better than this We would have gotten better service at a motel 6 and we will never stay here again We made sure to let all of our local friends know as well Absolutely disgusting
