Everything from the coffee pot to the bathroom to the floors were squeaky clean and well dusted There were plenty of towels The TV was easy to operate The sofa was clean and comfortable Breakfast was Western omelette and sausages, cereals and pastries This is the place to stay!

No complaints about this hotel Breakfast offers a great selection with two different flavors of waffles you make on the spot, several different juices, different cereals, fruits, baked goods, and the proteins are slightly different each day Super friendly workers between those who serve breakfast, those who are at the front desk, and those who clean the rooms

The rooms are clean and it’s in a good area with plenty going on nearby We need to extend our stay and will continue to stay here

I should have left my review earlier but last fall I stayed here with a group of friends It was hands down the BEST hotel experience I’ve ever had, and that counts across many stays throughout the country at much “fancier” hotels The best part was the amazing professionalism and hospitality shown by the front desk associate, Kaitlyn

She helped us check in without a hitch and made some very useful suggestions while in the area One of the ladies in my group forgot her boots in the lobby, and she knew it was us because we were traveling for an equine event She personally brought them to us up to our room She always made sure we had plenty of toiletries and towelsThe other things about the hotel is that it is super clean, smells great, the room was spacious, and breakfast was amazing All the while employees were helpful and friendly I’m looking forward to another stay here this fall I hope Kaitlyn still works there!

The hotel is not satisfactory and does NOT exceed the expectations of what a guest needs or wants in a stay at a hotel There is no comfort This hotel is not accommodating and does not let you know ahead of time what is required for the details of your stay

Also the people at the front desk are rude and their customer service skills are poor When a guest is looking for a night to stay they are looking for clean, nice, friendly and accessible amenities This hotel requires a deposit that is more than the price of a nightly stay and when trying to make accommodations for a team outing they do not provide any credit authorization forms or details to follow up I am so disappointed in this hotel and the lack of consideration for a guest and what they need When one travels they want to stay comfortable and this was the least bit comforting experience I will never use this hotel or chain of hotels again or recommend them to anyone

Went for a one night stay, the room was very clean! Shower is large, their breakfast is on point! The main complaint I have I feel is a big one

the curtains in the room DO NOT COVER THE WINDOW! They’re rather large curtains but only move 6″ and the ones that do cover the window are see thru and did nothing to stop the light from coming into the room waking me up early If you don’t want to sleep in past sun rise then not a big deal, but please management do something about this because outside of this, it’s a great place

Did I mention the perfect pool?!

I would not recommend this B and B I stayed in the most expensive room for my 30th wedding anniversary The room was never touched while we were there for the weekend

One would assume at the very least the bed would be madeIn regards to the breakfast, I found it to be a one fits all type If you don’t like poached eggs, too bad I love my eggs sunny side up, and to dip my toast into the liquid yoke However, the eggs were overcooked and the yoke was too hard to dip anything into itSo, I would say pass on this B and B It is not within walking distance of downtown, the food was subpar, and it was overpriced for the service one would expect for a $300 a night room

This hotel is nice for the price The beds are comfortable and the water pressure is good in the shower I didn’t try the pool out while we were there

They have washers and dryers there, but the room is so hot, and if you’re like me and want to stay with your laundry, you’re going to sweat!!! The one thing we did not like is that they have signs at breakfast that say that they don’t want you to take food back to your room Most people want to relax while they’re eating The internet connection was good for our stay The other thing is, if you don’t fill out a form for your room to be cleaned by 9 am, then your room won’t be cleaned that day The air conditioner didn’t get as cold as it should, being in Florida All and all, it was a good stay

BED BUGSRented a room for two nights for my 83 yr old disabled mom so she could attend family reunion After the first night she mentioned a couple of bites on here chest We thought nothing of it at the time

The second night she went to the desk 10 PM, with two bed bugs in a baggie asking for another room They said they had no where to move her They did not get out of their chair and check the room In the am they offered her 10,000 rewards points BIG DEAL I asked the mgr why no one checked the room He said they are not bug professionals REALLY???????? ROAD CONSTRUCTION DIFFICULT TO GET IN THE DRIVEWAY

Jimmy Oakley

Have spent thousands at this hotel and never had one problem until last stay Was waiting on a transfer of cash and was asked to leave and check back in because the person paying wasn’t there I’ve personally paid thousands to pay for a room for friends and haven’t even been in the same state

So I checked out and got charged 20 dollars for a pillow that had one small stain on it that I spilled a coke on??? Never again Arrogant belligerent and obviously unappreciated of paying customers I would recommend staying clear of this joint!

I made reservations 2 months before our stay Because it said that we needed to get there before 6pm, I contacted the owner to ensure that someone would be there for us because we were going to get there after 6pm I called them, left them messages, emailed them, texted them and no answer

I ended up calling the chamber of commerce who got in touch with them and then finally they responded So I was relieved A couple of days before our arrival, the hostess contacted us to give us instructions on what to do after our arrival past 6pm We got there at 6:30pm and everything was in great order Clean room, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and beautiful place Even the outdoor chairs and hammocks were clean from bird stuff and fruits from the trees Very clean Walking distance from downtown (15 miles) So we got our exercise Everything was exceptional The hostess was available through text so it was almost self service but with NO problems at all They only thing we didn’t like was that the walls were too thin and could hear entire conversations from next door and upstairs Would stay there again

Jason Sizemore

We have already had an amazing experience with the new owners of the Heirloom Estate and we haven’t even stayed here! Our sis and bro-in-law stayed this past weekend for their ten year wedding anniversary The new owners went out of their way to help us to have champagne on ice and chocolates waiting in the room upon arrival It was a great surprise and a huge hit! So while we haven’t stayed here yet, we definitely will! Thank you again to the new Heirloom Estate owners for your help in making a special day even more special!

Christine Keller

Simpson Bed & Breakfast met every expectation plus some My husband, teenage son and I stayed in Bob’s room and it was perfect I am a huge fan of small details and I was extremely impressed

To the disposable cups in the bathroom for mouthwash, to the extra towels and robes, to the snacks and water provided in the kitchenette, everything lead to us having a fantastic stay The king size bed was comfortable and the room was extremely clean The location couldn’t be better We parked down the street at the public parking garage for free Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back

Christina Roldan

Truly a hidden gem within Mt Dora and Central Florida as well! The Simpson BnB has a cozy home feel (each room has its own theme named after a family member) while not compromising any brand name hotel’s standards of excellence (beds are great)! Would 10/10 recommend staying here if you are looking to get away from your stereotypical hotel and have the real, small town experience in the heart of Mt Dora

Tina H

I never do reviews, but anyone that likes super clean and comfortable accommodations, like myself, will want to know about Simpson’s B & B The initial communication with management was beyond my expectations Very prompt and informative replies

Check-in and out process very quick and simple Wonderful information in the room providing contact information and local events They’ve already thought of everything for you, giving you privacy and options We were impressed with Cody’s on 4th (the included breakfast) The sheets felt great slipping into them, the towels were plush, and I have never felt more comfortable putting my clothes in drawers and utilizing kitchenware to prepare our own foods Again, I never do this but could go on and on Truly look forward to another visit in this fantastically located B & B Tina H

The old man at the boat morage is a real jerk My best friend lives there and I went fishing there at the dock was asked to leave I was astonished

I’ve helped him with him putting in boat and everything I even pick up trash when I’m there I don’t hurt anyone fishing there I also love talking to the residents and tell them how to fish Been fishing there for years The old guy is a real jerk! I honestly love this place but he ruins it for everyone

turquoisesky

Originally to stay six months, a job offer in another county led us to reduce our stay to a month They have some of the best sites we’ve been to, as they are concrete and large (room for your unit and vehicle), with plenty of room between neighbors, great roads, beautiful landscaping, and good water pressure One of the nice things about the park is that they require folks to keep the outside of their rv’s clean

With such a huge place and the weather being brutally hot, they mow and trim different areas on different days, but they do get around to the whole park eventuallyThe WIFI is good, with many repeaters throughout If one needs cable for long-term stays, they must contact a local provider for installation For short term, the WIFI was fine for catching up on the news and weather with our internet tvWe aren’t boaters, but if you are, you are in luck Access to Lake Harris is right by the office We did not use the laundry or bath house, so we cannot comment on those Nearby (as in a mile or two) is a Publix Supermarket for great food, gas stations, barber shops, and other convenience stores to make life easy instead of driving for milesPark is on a hill (this is Florida hill country!) so nice breezes are found in the early morning and late afternoon Perfect for outside coffee or an evening wind downSome sites are satellite friendly, some are shaded, so be sure to inquire about what type of site you needAll in all, a great place Very quiet residents and for the most part, very little traffic noise from US 19 Very easy to get out on the highway at the intersection with a red lightThe staff is cheerful, efficient, and the office is open seven days a weekThanks, everyone!

Cynthia Laughrun

We enjoy our stay here at Fisherman’s Cove Have come to know the staff who are friendly and efficient For any negative reviews, concerning the bathrooms, we understand that there cannot be a 24/7 oversight and clean up for these

Our help has children and an 8 hour work time What happens after hours is unavoidable muddy feet, doors left open, etcThis is a large place and is maintained well!! We full time and love it here!!!

Harry Canary

There is plenty of charm to this hotel and a real taste of “old Florida” And the views of Lake Dora are fantastic from the InnIf you’re looking for modern amenities though in your room, like a microwave or mini fridge, a nice-sized TV or even an enclosed toilet tank (instead of exposed plumbing) to come standard, you’ll need to manage your expectations

The most modern thing in the room was the super quiet, super cooling A/COverall we enjoyed our stay The serving staff at The Beauclerc and Tremain’s Tavern were excellent and the food was great Seriously, portions were big, very fairly priced and even the salmon we had was perfectly cooked And you will not find a better location within walking distance for all that the historic downtown district has to offerAreas for improvement:- We requested a mini fridge by phone days ahead of time only to find no note for it in our reservation I suppose we saved the $5/day charge which seems a little nickle-and-dime like in the first place, but the whole thing was handled poorly by the front desk- The mildew around the door frame inside the closet was just plain gross and needs work- The pool bar was not open due to staffing shortages Would have enjoyed that- Trying to book a boat tour through the hotel website needs even more in your face explanations that it means nothing unless you call the boat tour operator directly to confirm Really, why bother to have it on the site otherwise

Gretchen Bennett

Our room facing the lake was clean and very welcoming! The staff were very attentive and happily greeted you! The piano playing superb! My only complaint was 2 days in a row (and we were the some of the first guests) at lunch and dinner the next night they were out of a certain soup! Dinner we ordered the Brie with crackers and she came out with the Brie and dinner rolls saying that they didn’t have any crackers! We will been coming back as the beauty of this old place in and out are exquisite! But I will be bring my own crackers!❤️😂

Kristy Burns

I usually give good reviews The two stars is for the staff who have been kind My room is old, gross and overpriced

Don’t walk around barefoot Your feet will be dirty and sticky The lock on the door doesn’t work and neither does the toilet flush well I am next to some noisy passage at the top of the stairs I am currently being forced to hear the worst wedding DJ music permeate the walls At what point do we move past Sir Mix A Lot’s “ I Like Big Butts” and “Celebrate Good Times”? So, if you are coming for a wedding, make sure to hit up the bar so the room doesn’t offend at the end of the night and DO NOT CRASH ON YOUR FRIENDS FLOOR! Ew! If you are not coming for a wedding, there are some bed and breakfast places in the area that I am sure are quieter, cleaner, and provide more for your money It does get quiet after 10pm and the mattress was soft but judging the bedding and flooring, who knows how old the mattress may be I try not to think about it The grounds are nice and I did not try the food so I have nothing to offer on that score

We stayed here to celebrate my best friends 50th birthday It was a couples getaway and we stayed in the windmill cottage This was my first time my husband and I visited Mount Dora

My best friend and her husband visit regularly but it was their first time staying here First off Gwendolyn and her husband Dennis are simply terrific! Very accommodating and beyond helpful The cottage was spotless and so comfortable They always had the fridge stocked with whatever drinks we wanted The breakfast was AMAZING I didn’t want it to end We cannot wait to come back and stay here

Brad

Sitting here relaxing by the pool in perfect weather with a breeze just enough to gently give the windchimes some attention  I vary watching the squirrels, watching the original windmill spin and turn,  or the small ripples on the pool  I’ve only arrived 30 minutes ago and I’m instantly relaxed after 6 hours of traveling

Mt Dora is already a magical place and Grandview adds to that it’s own its own enchantment  I’m so happy I was lucky enough to stay here while visiting friends just down the streetI’m home now and was just thinking, the proprietors were so nice and welcoming There is no way for me to fully communicate how special I believe this B&B to be As I looked around the property, every bauble, lamp, and piece of furniture brought to mind how much love and attention has been put into this historical wonder It is astounding to think how much work a place like this would take to keep at this high a level of polished, thoughtful, yet comfortable vacation excellenceThe breakfasts were wonderful and they work hard to accommodate as many dietary needs as possible You will certainly not go hungry Also, worth noting is its all locally sourced farm to table where possible The bed in my room was so comfortable, I got some of the best sleep while staying here I also enjoyed talking with some of the other guests who were regulars I hope to be back soon to this special B&B Oh! And I should visit my friends again tooThank you again for the stay Grandview!

My wife and I had a marvelous time getting away at the Adora Inn! John and Arthur were warm and friendly, our room was beautiful, and the food was out of this world! The Inn has the perfect combination of modern and cozy, it’s not decorated with outdated tacky decor like other bed and breakfasts I’ve stayed at, which I very much appreciate!Adora Inn is within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and shops, which is very convenient I cannot recommend this place enough! It is a must in Mount Dora!

Joe Diaz

We enjoyed a fantastic weekend at this cozy and quaint B&B whose owners, John and Arthur, are wonderful hosts It is located within a short walking distance of the village center where you’ll find most of the restaurants, shops and tourist attractionsMount Dora is what much of Florida used to be years ago and the Adora Inn enhances that experience

I believe it was built around 1916, but it now offers spacious rooms with modern amenities and comfortable bedsJohn and Arthur are chefs and their culinary skills are on full display as breakfast is served Although they will prepare dinner for guests upon request, they’ll also recommend local restaurants that they’ve tried themselves We visited with another couple and we all shared some wine and great conversations with John and Arthur in the beautiful common areas of the home It was like spending a weekend with friends We highly recommend the Adora Inn to anyone visiting Mount Dora

Alex D

What a fantastic place the Adora Inn It is a perfect place for a weekend or a couple of days get away We stayed in one of the 3rd floor lofts, it was very spacious for a couple and with no TVs in any of the rooms it is a true disconnect

The early 1900 built house has a very homey feel to it and has everything you need for your stay John and Arthur are an absolute delight as hosts and will make you feel right at home not to mention they will whip you up an amazing breakfast The house is in an absolutely fantastic spot with less than a 5 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants in the historic downtown area We cannot wait until our next visit here in the future

Pamela and Keith are wonderful hosts and the house is very beautiful! I stayed here many nights during an extended business trip and had a wonderful experience every time They really make the house an inviting home for their guests and pay attention to the details- from the house to the garden to the yoga studio! The beds were comfortable, too and that makes such a big difference The breakfasts are phenomenal

I still dream of the lemon dutch pancake they make!

I needed just the right place of extra TLC for my Mom with all the caregiving she has been giving to our Pop This place too such loving care of her, that I don’t know where to start The place is beautiful, and the whole area feels like it is cottoned in love from the inside to the outside

It truly exceeds any B&B that I’ve even been in or checked out The extras, are just perfect without overdoing and spoiling the feel of the home Nicole is such a special lady and made my Mom feel like she was her Mom too making sure all was just right, and Mom got the much needed sleep and relaxation that she needed too There aren’t enough good words to cover how very special I believe this sweet home is I recommend to everyone, and plan on having Mom back there for another respite Thanks for treating her as special as she is!!

Very, very happy! We came to Mount Dora for a relaxing getaway We booked a room here for our last night in town and boy are we glad we did! We stayed in the “estate” room It was SO CLEAN which is the first thing I look at

The house is old and pretty- beautiful outside I slept so good that night Woke up refreshed and to the smell of something delicious cooking downstairs It was almost like I was back at my Nannie’s house We went downstairs and were served like spoiled brats The owners were super sweet and eager to make sure we were happy I cannot wait to go back I loved our stay here Worth every penny, if you love quality and comfort!! Thanks Evan and Christi!

Your standard Holiday Inn Express & Suites Good breakfast, friendly staff and comfortable enough bed The size of the room was decent and the area seemed nice enough

I will say this hotel appeared to be older and in need of some renovation or deep cleaning I noticed multiple stains in my room on the carpet and furniture Room 218 needs a little work
