I am a customer who booked a room at the Vine Inn for two days in April, 2022 The stay was unpleasant due to unsatisfactory maintenance and terrible service there, and I will try to tell the story as objectively as possible:1 Upon arrival, the parking lot was full

Their parking lot has approximately 14 spots for more than 20 units, so complimentary parking advertised on their website is not guaranteed I was instructed by the front desk to park on the street2 Upon entering the room, there was an unwashed mug below the coffee maker with coffee stain on it The room was recently remodeled so the overall quality is fine Specifically, the TV was nice and new so I tried to turn the TV on but could not find the remote I tried to call front desk but the telephone had no “front desk” label and neither was any instructions or labels nearby I then walked to the front desk (~10-11PM) but it was locked down, so I went back to my room to do some work but there was no pen and paper provided in the room3 In the next morning, I received a ticket for parking on the street The fine amount was 50 dollars Then did I realize that from 8AM-6PM there is only 2-hour parking at downtown Davis, but these angled parking spots do not have signs at each spot like mostly everywhere else The sign is ~100 feet away near the intersection so it is hard to be found at night I was not informed by the front desk about limited street parking4 When I went to the front desk to file a complaint, I requested to talk with the supervisor and cancel the second night for staying with a full refund (yes, only the second night that I am not staying) I was told that the supervisor was not there today I then requested the supervisor’s phone number to explain the issues and discuss a solution, but I was told that they cannot give me the phone number I therefore requested the front desk to call the supervisor and pass on the message or make a decision on behalf of the supervisor, the request was also declined I was told that I have to email the supervisor myself via their general info email address At this point, it seems obvious that they do not want to resolve this issue at all I did persist and send the email according to their suggestion, and I also attached my phone number and requested a phone call, but there is no surprise that I have never heard from them since then I am writing this review four days or two business days after my stayBelow is my subjective opinion: the issues above were only minor issues and very easy to resolve, but the way they handled this showed how poor their service and management were They could have canceled the second night and given me their hotel credit for one night’s worth or at least the equal fifty dollars for the parking ticket (even though everybody knows that I am never coming back), but they have chosen to waste 15 minutes of my life writing down this long review If you are choosing to live at downtown Davis, just stay in the Hilton nearby The dollars saved is not worth ruining your trip

Overall, a decent option if you want to be in downtown Davis Unfortunately the room phone does not have a button to call the front desk At 1:40 am, a group was hanging out right outside our room and had a very loud conversation while drinking for over 30 minutes

We tried calling the normal phone number of the hotel, but no one picked up Unfortunately no one from the hotel was there to help monitor the noise and my partner had to ask the group to be quiet multiple times

Charlotte Lewis

This place is such a great option for the price point! The rooms are small (no closet, for example—very minimalist) but very thoughtfully furnished, so even though they’re streamlined everything that’s in there is really nice I absolutely fell in love with the sheets, haha! I think I told everyone we saw the whole week about them The bathroom had been tastefully and recently remodeled too

Great location in downtown, walkable to all the best food and coffee Overall if you’re looking for a less expensive option in Davis (and understand that you’re not booking a luxury hotel, but a very luxurious motel as budget options go) this was a great bang for our buck!

This hotel was really clean and had comfortable beds The staff was very friendly and helpful Honestly they have some of the best staff I’ve ever experienced

They only service your room every 5 days but they let you know that and I personally prefer it that way The breakfast was good and plenty of options My family really enjoyed the pool as well It in a nice area located close to many of the restaurants

Danny D

This place is pretty good I didnt have any problems I asked for a 1st floor room and got it

The pool was closed but then again it was late January I liked the mini fridge with no over priced drinks and snacks Theres plugs all over the place and an excise room with decent up to date equipment The sink drain plug was malfunctioning in room 119 It wouldn’t open all the way but it still drained They had free breakfast No bacon or ham was offered and only eggs in scrambled form The free internet was fast The bed was comfy They offer firm & soft pillows Great location Theres many places to eat within walking distance I set the thermostat to 72 and had to set it to cool & it was fighting with the building’s heating The temp outside never went above 70F Waste of energy but I don’t pay the bills so I don’t care

The room was absolutely beautiful There was a problem with the bathroom not being cleaned but they immediately cleaned it up the next day and gave us a discount Laundry room and small pool area available

Outlet mall right across the street Olives Garden and Texas Road House right next to the hotel In’N’Out, Safeway, Target and Walmart close We were absolutely satisfied with their costumer service You will need to talk to them for $0,25 and free detergent for your laundry 2 washing machines and 2 dryer Thank you so much for your great work!

Quiet, relaxing stay, very affordably priced UC Davis graduation weekend and hotels were astronomical everywhere–making this hotel a bargain at $90 It is an oasis tucked between 80, Grocery Outlet and Olive Garden (the original site of the historic Coffee Tree)

This place feels a bit slower paced and less modern, even nostalgic, like upscale hotels were in the 1980s, w/ grass and greenery and a patio area with globed lamps lighting the paths to the lobby We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and garden sitting areas Access to our room was from an easy flight of stairs, and the room had everything we needed (mini fridge, microwave, coffee) and was very clean As far as driving goes, the “in and out” could be better, but it is a nice little oasis The café area is a bit pricey, but very nice, modern, and clean The lady in charge made a huge impression–with excellent service, making sure we had coffee mugs instead of paper cups, and never let them run dry She told us that the property was very military friendly and she (retired 68W) was able to have her daughter work there too, a peaceful and welcome life’s change Great place Definitely will be back

Lena Castronova

I was expecting a large breakfast as I read so many times in various places I went to the lobby and was very disappointed when I gleaned you order your breakfast from the Starbucks inside and you pay for it Around 10$ to 13$

I felt lied to and was really beside myself when the motel 6 has breakfast and choices as well What’s going on theses days with all these companies not giving a damn! No one cares about much these days! Human beings have given up on everything it seems

I am on a business trip and have stayed at many Hilton hotels in the last 2 weeks As a Diamond member I exclusively stay at Hilton hotels and expect the hotels to be of high standards After my last stay at a poor quality DoubleTree, it was refreshing to see the other end of the spectrum at this location

The entire building smelled clean upon entry, hallways were clean, room was spacious and very clean The A/C is excellent and the room cooled down quickly Almost all of the Homewood Suites I’ve stayed at have been good, but this one is of exceptional quality I also like the free laundry Makes a difference when you’re trying to work out some stains on your clothes I highly recommend this location if you’re visiting this area I find it better to pay a little more for comfort and a good nights sleep

What grabbed my attention first was the scent of popcorn however once I passed the threshold of the lobby I was met by the most happy go lucky, bring a smile to your face staff member I’ve ever encountered She definitely loves her job I was standing by waiting my turn as she was the only one behind the counter with the lobby full of guest she not only was addressing the issue in front of her but also the issues of other guests as they came up to her with requests, running from the supply closet back to the front desk, answering the phone and checking people in

She also greeted everyone she saw whether they were coming in or going out When it was finally my turn, she greeted me again, apologized for the wait and proceeded to check me in I can go on but she went above and beyond for everyone I witnessed her encounter even myself Thank you Anonika

I could see how parking could be difficult Thankfully we had a small vehicle As we were leaving the last day (at 3a) a vehicle was waiting for a spot and took ours

The halls smelled nice The bed was comfy Room was clean Breakfast was actually really good and free Plenty of restaurants around the hotel I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Gigi Jo

If you plan on resting don’t stay here 😂🥲 I currently am on a business trip due to my job and my room was located on the second floor Although I appreciate a clean hotel at 8am there was vacuums going on for more than 30 minutes Constant opening and closing doors oh and Stomping can he heard all around and the hotel is located next to the freeway so you can hear the cars unless you are a Heavy heavy sleeper this might not be an issue … the receipt said there was no room service offered unless requested but I had my room cleaned without notice which is fine as I was gone (you can put a do not disturb sign to avoid this) overall the room was clean although lobby bottom floor has a terrible smell it’s a combination of onions and old perfume also this hotel was paid for but i would not pay to stay here, no gasten dinero aquí plebes jaja por el precio pueden encontrar algo más acomodante donde pueden descansar a gusto si quieren dormir but besides not being able to rest , the hotel room is clean and location is good!

Tough to review this hotel, but I would give it 25 stars

location is great, staff was perfectly pleasant at check-in, and the included breakfast met our needs with tea/coffee, cereals, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, some fruit and a waffle maker However, the room wasn’t vacuumed as well as it should have been (there were seed shells on the floor near the wall) and the coverlet on the bed was not really clean (two stains on one bed), but the sheets were clean and the bathroom was also We were only there for one night otherwise I would have asked to switch rooms or have it re-cleanedagain, the sheets were clean and that was what mattered most 🙂

The only good thing about this hotel is its location I was assigned a tiny room near the stairs Room needs urgently a deep cleaning and some renovation

AC was off when I arrived and once I turned it on I could smell something dirty and my allergies started to pick up In addition, I could see spider webs on the ceiling just above the bed and also in the breakfast room

Hotel by itself was just fine But the attitude of front desk management is horrible and not comer friendly I booked and intended to stay on a thursday but as I wasn’t feeling well I was forced to extend by another day

I called in to tell the front desk that Next day as I check out I was charged more than 16 times for the extension ($165) On checking I saw the web price was $143 & asked for that, but was refused I was told to talk to the manager & inspire of leaving messages few times, there was no call back Finally I called back, to be simply told that it was responsibility to check price and not theirs & nothing can be done But there is no customer friendliness to this place – Seems to be focused on maximizing their revenues

Michelle 2001

Loved the location as there were a good chunk of eateries, they do serve complimentary breakfast from 6:00am to 9:00am Mon through Sun However, the front desk service was okay, not too personable like other best western’s or holiday inns, doubletrees, Hilton’s, or Hampton inns At least there was someone at the desk at all times unlike the Holiday Inn in Corning CA though

Also, the weatherstripping on the door was gone, and throughout the night as I was playing the television 📺 I’d find a random bug flying inside from under the door at full speed, either moths, flying roaches, or beetles and crickets They aren’t pet friendly, and they tell you upfront that if they find a pet you’ll be charged an additional cleaning feeThey do have a pool which had plenty of visitors inside of it, cable, and ice machines No elevator 🛗 though, so you may want to request a downstairs room if there is a physical limitation to climb the stairs Unlike the doubletree in Petaluma the parking is freeI thought the rooms were very clean, they smelled nice unlike other hotels that have the old carpet scent, and their heaters/fans run on a thermostat unlike other old hotels that don’t have a thermostat and have you waking up at all hours of the night to turn on/off the heater/fan

s dion

Front desk lady is RUDE and not helpful! Mr Cook the general manager this am was in rant that I DESTROYED them on social media, also blamed me that no supervisors were on site for 2 days and didn’t give em time to rectify Mr cook it’s your job to staff your hotel NOT MINE and based on other reviews your FRONT DESK is and has been a problem! Enjoy your call with CORPORATE BIG WIGS

Stayed 3 days usually I don’t mind if they don’t come make the room But we have a big family and needed new towels every day! 2nd day no towels nothing Plat card says leave them on the ground means they will be refreshed and if you want the bedding redone leave the place one the bed

( front desk says requested schedule) only to get new linen/towels I was okay without new bedding so we put the towels on the floor And received nothing So went ahead and scheduled a room maintenance received nothing Let alone the fridge did not work at all But they did promptly fix that or replace it while we were gone also why I expected new towels and trash to be taken out since they were in the room already! Also blinds were broken or didn’t work Other then that comfy room and friendly staff Nice AC in the room No hot tub and kinda a small pool Breakfast are really good

Hyatt place Vacaville is a gorgeous location With plum trees, Palm trees and roses decorated in front of it, it smells very floral The parking lot and lobby were very clean

The rooms are large with 2 beds and a large futon There is a gym, pool and dining area The breakfast was very good (I only wish there were Halal/Kosher options the meat is always pork) The breakfast is until 9:00 on weekdays and until 10:00 on weekends We did run into a few issues with management and customer service that was a headache, but it was eventually sorted out We did not have a microwave in our room, but upon requesting one, it was brought to us The towels were burnt I would go again

Joel “Jay2dafullest”

The hotel looks and feels new I noticed they have a bar / restaurant next to the lobby I did not try either

The gym has 5-50 lbs dumbbells, 1 bench, 2 treadmill, 1 elliptical, and it’s on the small side The rooms were mostly clean with the exception of soap scum build up on the base of the shower doors Overall it’s a comfortable stay away from a busy area

Arrived last Friday night around midnight after an event in Napa I was traveling with friends and we each booked our own rooms We pull in and there appeared to be a man dead in his car in the parking lot

There were two abandoned cars, a couple fighting, and a sign to Park at your own risk It’s highly recommend a security officer to keep this area patrolled Definitely not worth the $125 Stay across the street at the Motel 6 and pay half the price

Our recent trip to Davis was mostly for a return stay at the Best Western Plus Palm Court but in the larger suite(3rd floor, fireplace, balcony, whirlpool tub), which was originally recommended by my oldest son but was unavailable during our first stayI gave the hotel only 4 stars this time because over all this establishment has pasted my white glove inspection on multiple visits The quality of cleanliness in our room, lobby/general areas, outside of the structure and even the parking garage continues to be one of the best places I’ve had the enjoyment of staying at throughout our travels

All staff members(hotel & restaurants) are always polite, professional and helpful We enjoy visiting the local shops(stores & nail salon) during our visitsHowever, the lose of one star was due to the fact that 2 out of 3 amenities(balcony & fire place) that the room featured were unavailable and no prior courtesy message was given!? I did make my reservations, two weeks in advance, through Bookingcom but was still able to easily message back and forth directly with the hotel I wanted to get confirmation that this time the suite we’d be staying in would be the larger suite(which featured the 3 amenities mentioned above) And yet even after making reservations two weeks in advance, have been in contact with the hotel directly and even upon arrival not once was I informed that some of the featured amenities would not be available?! This floor had several rooms on it and I couldn’t help but wonder if everyone was having to experience the unfortunate disappointment of barely finding this out upon entering are suite? Seeing as how our stay was only for one night I decided to not bother contacting the receptionist but instead take advantage of the one still available feature which was the whirlpool tub Next time I’ll be sure to just make the phone call direct so I have a name on file of whose confirming what

its me

I didn’t realize how busy Davis is at night that town is really alive It’s a great vibe The hotel however has seen better days I mean the room was nice but it was a little bit dated

But I did have a lovely time and I would go back I gave it a low Mark for service because I just tried to have a wine bottle opened in the bar downstairs and they charged me a corkage fee and even though I bought another bottle of wine from the same bar and then they didn’t even open them they just handed me a bottle opener And they were kind of rude

Kyndra Kettlewell

We had king suite very nice and beautiful loved the balcony very nice for our family Hotel mantince was very quick when needed Very understanding to my 2 year old artistic child

Tiki bar was very good to The restaurant that is not associated with the hotel not good at all We asked for chicken sandwich and fries got fish instead two of our kids at the fries and got fish food poisoning and was throwing up all night, the manager the next day tried to say it was his restaurant but my kids didn’t eat anything else I wasn’t happy with restaurant at all but the hotel is awesome I would recommend it 100% to anyone
