We got stormed out of our camp site in the area and called to see if there was vacancy, Nick was very nice and helped accommodate us at 3 am during a busy weekend The next morning Mackenzie was so sweet and helped get us arranged for another night due to the storms The hotel ran very efficiently with spacious and cozy rooms

The location is an easy fifteen minute drive to Madison capitol where there is so much to do We didn’t mean to end up here but now we would come back and stay at this hotel because it was so awesome!!

Michelle Neyer

Literally the best customer service! I’m in the military and had a change in my schedule I had no toiletry with me McKenzie offered me EVERY available toiletry available

Her kindness was amazing!Plus the rooms very clean, and look like mini apartments! Highly recommend!!!!

My three boys were excited to go swimming and the pool was ice cold hot tub was Brown We would have been better off swimming in that litle lake that’s right next to the hotel Talk to the front desk their excuse was maintenance is off on Sundays and since it’s 5:00 they can’t do anything but check in is at 4:00

Stay away from this hotel if you’re coming with a family that wants to enjoy their time together

I don’t know why Hilton has chosen to not clean the rooms while you’re staying at the hotel, but this will be my last stay at a Hilton property I specifically asked to have my room cleaned when I checked in and when I returned to my room after being gone all day, it was not made up I stayed at a Hilton property in Stoughton, Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago and the same thing happened

I have a reservation to stay at a Hilton in Wausau that I am going to cancel When I am paying good money to stay at a hotel, I expect it to be cleaned, especially when I ask for the service

Gregory Wilson (Red)

This was by far the worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel First thing they did was take money off my card and I didn’t even check in the rm

then get in the rm theres no microwave there’s trash in the hallways that was there for three days the Hospitality suck everyone knows that when a guest is coming or going through the lobby the front desk clerk should always acknowledge the guest rather it’s a hello or are u enjoying your stay they didn’t do any or that My rm was fine besides it took me an hour to get the tv on cause it was unplugged from the backAs an employee of Hilton Garden Inn the actions and manera from those employees were totally unprofessional

The manager was very friendly and helpful The room was super clean and comfortable The pool and hot tub are awesome

Breakfast was good Our room was nice and quiet The manager recommended an excellent restaurant just down the road, “Toby’s SupperClub” We ate there two nights, it was amazing The hotel was a little off the beaten path, but still close to everything We would definitely stay at this hotel again, and highly recommend it!

The road to it is a bit bumpyThe staff were friendly Kathy at the front desk was exceptional!People complaining about no bathtubs? I would never take a bath in a hotel! 🤮 No cash for payment? I don’t know of a hotel that will take it without a credit card for incidentals

I found the room to be very quietThe owner was on site a lot and friendly as wellIf convenient to where I wanted to be I would definitely stay here again

We use to love going to hotels but it hasn’t been very pleasurable the last few years I’m happy to say that wasn’t the case on this trip This is the best hotel experience we have ever had! It all started with the staff

They were so polite and welcoming The room, price and location were also perfect I can’t say thank you enough Hotels can either make or break a trip and this definitely made it

Each year when my travels take me to Madison I always stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Madison!! GREAT location to grocery and other shops, VERY clean rooms, and the STAFF are MOST WELCOMING and HOSPITABLE!! I’d like to give a special thanks to Alyssa who greeted me the moment I arrived and took care of making sure I enjoyed a great stay and the same feedback applies to Jack – they both were AMAZING!! What wonderful staff here – clearly dedicated and precisely who you’d want taking care of you during your travels – thank you both!!I’d also like to give a special thanks to Efraen of the Maintenance Department Had a small issue with my shower head and microwave which was resolved within 5 minutes of my request!! Much appreciated!!To the management of this hotel, thank you too, know that every staff member I met during my stay was FANTASTIC!!!

Stayed one night during a road trip We’ve stayed at Tru hotels in the past and were satisfied Selected due to familiarity, cost, and availability of EV charging in the parking lot

Decent convenience of location near the highway and nearby restaurants Basic breakfast is provided, which is appreciatedThe lobby is bright and fun, including games such a billiards and shuffle puck Feels like a fun place

Timothy Tranchilla

Loved this concept Found the breakfast to be much more suitable to a 2022 palate (oats, yogurt, fruit, granola) Gym was compact but had more equipment than I’ve seen in a medium sized hotel

The rooms were nicely organized Loved that there was no carpet, but did not love that the A/C unit would not turn off, even when the thermostat was off, just blowing room temp air causing condensation and our floor to be damp We cleaned up the dampness with towels and they were stained almost black! (Floors need to be mopped regularly, especially during COVID) Found the front desk staff to be friendly and filled with helpful suggestions

Amanda Sparrow

We ended up at the Tru when our Airbnb didn’t work out It was reasonably priced, about the same as other hotels nearby But it is a lot nicer because, ya know, it’s Hilton

Justin was extremely helpful in getting us a room and accommodating our pets That’s one thing I really like was how many dogs were staying at the hotel and the staff didn’t seem to view them as an inconvenience Everything was aesthetic and clean No carpet in the rooms !! Yes please Would come back and definitely recommend The pleasant experience really did begin with Justin, he understands guest perception he was interactive and competent and you can really tell he knows the ins and outs of his job Everything that followed was just as good as our first few moments in the hotel

First off price and location were reasonable The staff was very friendly, even housekeeping was nice The room was clean, everything straightened up

No hand soap in the bathroom though?!?Our sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable AF That hallway smelled like fresh clean laundry and cleaning solutions The pool was greatness, nice and warm, hot tub was good, kids really like their kiddie pool area too The courtyard is well taken care of and really chill for a night cap with a snack from the bar and a drink!

Sara Talbot

Wonderful place to stay if you have kids! The pool/water area is so great, especially for little kids, there is a beautiful & tranquil outdoor seating area I saw several people out there reading & enjoying the beautiful weather There is not a free breakfast, but if you pay more for your room it is included

The prices were very reasonable for the amenities It even has a trolley into town, and parking was easy There are nearby stores if you need things & a darling park with a splash pad within a 10 minute drive The hotel was very clean & the staff was friendly & polite

Dan Schultz

My wife stays at Courtyards by Marriott often for work and enjoys them This was a one night stay passing through town Super clean, modern room overlooking the courtyard which was beautiful

Great spaces on the main floor for eating, lounging, and for business travelers Not the nicest place I’ve stayed but for the price I thought it was a bargain Nice presentation Marriott!

Amy Pfeiffer Birnbaum

My dog was being treated for cancer at UW – Madison from April until last week when she lost her battle We had six stays at this hotel during that time, all of which were consistently wonderfulThe rooms are large and clean, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen has a full sized fridge, which came in handy during some of our longer stays

Sometimes I had to stay here by myself, and it says a lot about both the hotel and the area that I felt safe to do so as a female traveling alone with a dog with mobility issues Breakfast was the typical continental fare, but that is all I neededThe staff here exceeds expectations, and truly could not have been nicer to me Jim is a standout in particular, as he always does the extra mile A couple of my stays were of an indefinite length of time at booking, and the staff was so easy and flexible at working with me to extend those stays when neededMy dog did not always stay with me on these trips (as sometimes she was in hospital), but when she did, there was plenty of convenient, well manicured access to grass outside the hotel, as well as pet waste stations around the perimeter of the hotel For non pet people, there was no dog smell or fur anywhere A lot of pet friendly hotels are a bit dingy – not this oneThis hotel is truly the five star hotel of three star hotels I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality, cleanliness, and dependability through a really difficult time

J Lynn

Service was kind and professional Our king suite was clean and comfortable The breakfast was really so awful though

Everything was so artificial and powdered tasting Absolutely inedible I couldn’t even make a toasted bagel taste good But for a clean and affordable stay It was a great value Just don’t rely on your complimentary breakfast

Jinoj Mathew

One of the best places to stay Service is phenomenal Upon check in received two bottles of water for being an honors member

Received texts daily asking how the experience was Room had a full kitchen and utensils Very clean and well maintained rooms Beds and pillow were very comfortable as well Breakfast is included and good selections are available daily Plenty of free parking also available Good location Highly recommend

I really enjoy Holiday Inn Express hotels This one had nice staff as I have always experienced The room was a little humid which was strange

The one thing missing for me was the pancake machine! I didn’t know there were locations without one I always have the pancakes with honey, banana and peanut butter for breakfast They had some in the buffet type pan but they weren’t as fresh as the ones from the machine Still a good experience overall Trip was for business

Tony Jacob

My wife and I have just stayed 2 nights here Wonderful service, and excellent by Holiday Inn Express standards Very comfortable room + facilities

Their free hotel shuttle service was very helpful Would particularly commend Garry, Dominique + Joe on the shuttle Also Christopher + Antoyne on the front desk Very welcoming attitude, and all wonderfully proactive We’ll be back in Madison, as this short trip was a teaser Much more to see

We stayed here with our soccer club which means lots of kids and lots of noise Every member of the staff was super friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience pleasant We had 2 separate issues (our remote and our AC/heater) both were taken care of in a timely manner and the staff was happy to help

The gentleman working the continental breakfast was super friendly and helpful Would absolutely recommend They also made checkout/checkin easy for such a large group

Daryl Diddle

We are quite picky regarding cleanliness, and the place was clean – room, lobby, pool area (which was more like a small, indoor water park – our teens loved it,) etc Not fancy, but neat and clean The bed was one of the most comfortable we’d ever slept on – which is a high compliment coming from my wife, who has some back issues

The woman who took our reservation in the afternoon was super helpful and kind For the price it was a no-brainerThe only reason this was not a 5 star (I’d give it a 45 if I could) was the breakfast – the waffles tasted like chemicals and there was no milk for the cereal We asked for milk, but it didn’t seem like anyone was really interested in going to the store and grabbing some I suppose good help really is hard to findWe’d certainly stay there again

We booked for a king suite whirlpool and sadly to say the room could be clean better Some of the walls were peeled and still damp wet towels, followed by dusty vent/no trash bags in bins Even found some condiments on the floor and bread pieces outside in the patio

3/5 star for cleanlinessFront desk was phenomenal during the evening, but morning could smile more and at least try to listen to my worries/complaints She was rude in a way for rushing me vs asking other customers how was their stay Not a great send off Would’ve been a 5/5 star for services Which turned out to be a 3/5 starLocation was great, due to the fact it was close by to many places I wanted to browse and shop etc Will we be back? No, for not treating us fairly Not worth the price

Latoria Anderson

I checked in to stay during an audit and didn’t want to leave the room so I arrived with a lot of luggage I called the front desk and asked that they open the back door so I wouldn’t struggle with carrying everything in After advising that I must check in through the front, I explained why that would be difficult to do granite the amount of items I was carrying

An AA girl came to let me in and ensured I was checked in properly She was also training a new young lady of which they were both polite and a joy to communicate withMy room was clean and accommodating while I also enjoyed the many amenities of the hotel including the nice lounge, pool, washer and dryer use with supplied laundry detergent, bar and the gym I rate this 5 stars

I stayed for two nights and thought it was great Check in was a breeze I was informed that due to covid, there isn’t daily housekeeping, but I can let them know if I need anything (I didn’t)

The room was clean, everything worked as it should It was quiet I knew there were quite a few guests there, some with dogs, but I never even heard anyone unless they were coming out of their room into the hallway The continental breakfast was your typical hotel continental breakfast: you either take it or just go somewhere else It’s free, so gourmet food shouldn’t be expected I have to go back to Madison next month, and this is where I’ll be staying

Move out of the apartment today with a reservation at this dump made a week in advanced Call today for a possible early check in and the GM said the room won’t be available until 7pm when the check in is 3pm We said we can NOT do 7 and the original 3pm time is fine

The manager said we “copped an attitude,” and decided to cancel our reservation No notice of the room change He cancelled the reservation and stated “do not come here” and hung up the phone Anytime we called back the call would be ignored This is a CUSTOMER SERVICE JOB and this is NOT how you problem solve with your customers Absolute WORST handling of an issue I’ve ever experienced I’ve had customers throw FOOD in my face and STILL have to give discounts to these people because of STANDARDS OF SERVICE Needless to say, a complaint has been filed with the district and the regional manager and I pray y’all have a better experience than we did Good luck if y’all try and stay here!!

K Meenan

Pet friendly is a plus The rooms are relatively clean but old and in need of some upgrades The breakfast is basic grab-and-go (see photo) and the coffee is gross

The one thing that I absolutely could not deal with is the bathtub/shower, as the one in our room was bowed in (see photo) so you can’t stand flat – it feels like you are about to fall through the floor Not goodNote: the hotel is currently renovating some of their rooms, so hopefully that includes their bathrooms and carpet

The parking lot was full and the breakfast area was bustling So the good reviews are for real People love to stay here and love the cook to order breakfast! Bed was comfortable which is a priority for us! The soaking tub was nice, larger and deeper than normal bathtubs

Room was clean, smelled fresh Service desk staff were friendly on checkin Everything in our stay was great No complaints

Sutter Properties

Decided to change the review since except for the front desk manager, Jennifer Carter, rest of the FD and breakfast staff were very nice Rooms are clean and spacious Ready to make breakfast was great

I would have given 4 stars if the FD manager accommodated any my requests First I called to check-in early and she flat out refused even though 50% of the hotel was empty Then I had to call repeatedly to have room service, but she would not accommodate Other FD staff were nice though and courteous

Wow for the price this place was amazing There was some miscommunication upon check in since we paid through the Hilton website but even with that we were still checked in in under 10 min I get the feeling they get a lot of a holes cause they were super apologetic about the situation

The pool alone makes this place so worth it if you have kids They even provide some pool toys (balls, noodles, squirrels) We didn’t try the free breakfast but pretty cool they offered that and we saw tons of people taking advantage in the mornings so it must’ve been good Our room and bed were nice and comfortable It wasn’t downtown but everything we did was within like 15 min drive Will definitely stay here on our next trip!

alyson propes

The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because the water in the shower was dangerously hot and cold I don’t mean just annoying It took over 5 minutes of letting the water run for it to warm up, and then it went from a good temp, to painfully ice cold, and then the only way to get it off ice cold was to turn high enough that it was dangerously hot – so hot you would honestly get burned, and then turn it way back down again

It was stressful to shower and also shower my kidsAside from that, the pool was great, the breakfast was great, the staff were all friendly, the room was clean, and the price was good

Clean hotel, newly renovated, and management was very helpful We went through a second party booking site and upon check in, there was an issue with the site not sending the code to pay the hotel for our stay The manager was so helpful, and let us check in and go to our outing and called the second party site to resolve the issue

We woke up too late for the breakfast, but it looked like a very good set up of lots of variety in food and clean open dining space There is also an all day coffee/tea counter that was very nice The hotel is also a stop on Middletons free trolley ride that goes from different hotels every 30 min to downtown Middleton Very nice extra features The gym and indoor pool looked very nicely kept up as well Best thing of all, they have a 12 (noon) check out Overall great stay and only 15 min straight drive into downtown Madison

Hotel was very nice and friendly Breakfast was good Rooms were clean other than maybe they top sheep on the bed looked pretty rough

We were able to have pets which is always greatly appreciated My only concern and bummer was that the pool and hot tub were VERY dirty The pool water did not even look like pool water it just looked like dirty water After noticing that I looked at the walls of the pool and they seemed brown and almost moldy looking the hot tub looked even worse than the pool I def stayed out of it and really hope My kiddo stays healthy after it Had I noticed it before he had gotten in and started having fun I wouldn’t have allowed it It would benefit to drain that thing ,scrub up and start fresh Other than that the hotel was very nice

This place is excellent to stay at Monty is a great guest service He reinforced hotel policy’s

In this newest stay I was able to experience how Monty had to denied service to some guest because they were in the Do Not Rent list The female of the this couple was very rude and threatened Monty However he stood his ground Like I said he does an amazing job to keep the hotel safe

Beautifully remodeled modern style hotel Great service from the staff The room we had was without any windows though

Instead it had a door to the inside pool area While some might find that a preferred convenience, If we did it again, all 5 of us would prefer a window room instead next time Other than that the stay was good The pool here is geared towards small kids only

The staff is incredibly nice I didn’t get her name, but the girl who checked me in was very sweet and helpful Thank you for a wonderful stay! I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Madison

When we went in to the pool, it was closing in 30 minutes No one has been using the waterside so it had been turned off The lifeguard working turned it back on so my nephew could use it Even though she was closing in 30 minutes she never made us feel rushed and we enjoyed our time in the water park This was the evening of Tuesday March 2 Thank you!

There were some positive things about our stay, but I feel like the bad outweighed the good Starting with the good; the rooms were very clean and the pool area is great, with wonderful lifeguards Now the bad

When we booked the room we booked a 1st floor poolside room, when we checked in our room was on the second floor Checkout is at 11am, which is fine, but the pool doesn’t open until 9am, and when we were here they didn’t open it until 10 minutes after 9 They also didn’t open the water slide in the morning There isn’t a free continental breakfast, you have to pay $5 per adult and $3 per child Having to pay for breakfast we assumed everything was included, but only milk, water or coffee was included for drinks, no fruit juice We also thought we would get refills on our drinks, especially since we had to pay, but no one came around for refills Overall it seemed like this hotel likes to nickle-and-dime their guests while having subpar service and limited pool time

Absolutely blown away by the professionalism and care the staff puts into their work! The front desk woman Lindsey is such a sweetheart and is always so kind and helpful, she deserves a raise! Also Jermaine has gone above and beyond to make sure I have felt welcome and comfortable during my stay, the amenities are essentially a furnished apartment and I couldn’t be happier with my room! I’ll be recommending extended stay to everyone I know from here on out!

We were kept up all night long by the next door neighbors After the sheriff came at 4:30 AM, they continued talking loudly and laughing, and banging the door The walls were thin

Apparently they don’t need sleep But we did We have a long drive ahead of us and we’re exhaustedWe called the front desk three times asking for assistance, and he said he’d ask them to be quiet, but nothing ever happened The 3rd time we called, no one answered the phoneNever Holiday Inn Again NeverOur room smelled like old cigarette smoke The lobby and common area is stale We can ignore that, but not the restThere was a loud party in the parking lot, by where we had to park, when we arrived, so we were very concerned leaving our truck and bike unattended Thankfully, nothing happenedThe desk employee was very patient, kind, and was swamped with work, as it was a full house However, he was unable to do anything, so we wonder if management allows him to or notPay extra and drive to the Dells to stay somewhere else!

Don’t go to the Holiday Express Deforest WI if you want a hot breakfast!!!!Deforest was midway between our vacation destination Specifically chose Holiday Express because it offered a free hot breakfast Other hotels in the area were less expensive

Bottom line: No hot breakfast after 30 minutes even though we arrived by 7a Our group of 6 in 3 rooms decided to get breakfast on the road Hotel offered $10 off per room Really? It cost us $60 and wasted time getting to our final destinationFind another hotel that offers breakfast Avoid Holiday Express Deforest WIChris SPS Manager keeps responding that there were other items available A few muffins, toast, We had our own breakfast bars We wanted a hot breakfast These items are NOT a suitable replacement for eggs, bacon, sausage etc
