The lobby was stacked high to the ceiling with materials, tables and chairs Not sure if there was remodeling going on or what No signs to explain

You could see the office from the front counter and it was super cluttered with all sorts of things including pictures on the floor leaning against a desk Again not sure what’s going on Maybe closing soon or something The room had parts of the wall coming off in the bathroom Overall dirty spots on the walls The desk was separating from the wall The bed was comfortable and clean though To get to this place is like going through a maze Needs to have signage that points the way You have to go through another hotels drop off zone to get to this hotel Very confusing I arrived at night and it took me 10 or 15 minutes of driving all around the area The staff at check in and check out were both very nice and easy to work with

Kory Plummer

I have stayed here for 9 days and 6 nights total over a 3 week time span The staff is professional and the rooms are pretty clean My only compliant is that this week after getting ready and showering Tuesday morning, instead of hanging the towels up to dry and reusing them, I piled them up

I did this because every time I stayed there prior, my towels were replaced after use They did not replace my towels nor even cleaned my room, not that it needed to be cleaned All I wanted was a large towel so that I could shower in the morning I went to the front desk to ask for a large towel and a hand towel I was told the hand towel wasn’t going to happen but the large towel would be brought up to me that night I never received the towel that night, and when I went to the front desk the next morning I was told that he didn’t have access to the clean towels It is kind of annoying and frustrating that I couldn’t even get one towel

Jenna Wagner

There were stains on the walls, door appeared to have been busted in before Side door where guest only key cards open them was completely open with out key card There was drug paraphernalia under the mattress, I always pull covers back at every hotel and then pull mattress sides up looking for bugs

I would have rather found bugs Front desk was less than concerned about the issue presented Will never book with again

First, the good parts I have stayed here several times over the years and the staff is always super friendly and well-trained Plenty of parking and a perfect location if you’re visiting Purdue or the West Lafayette area

The downside there has just been no reinvestment in remodeling and updating the property especially the rooms So that is the only reason I cannot give this a higher rating They do offer comfortable bedding but other than that it’s a big mess with design and upkeep and making it modern within the rooms

Daniel Varnell

It is a decent hotel However, I do not feel it quite hits the garden inn standard that Hilton has set The rooms are a little small and several times I have stayed here the wall paper was peeling in the restroom

This hotel could definitely use a remodel The location of this hotel is great though Lots to do and eat around this hotel

Juniper B

Very nice rooms and good locationI read some of the other reviews and yes the carpets in the rooms could use a deep clean- mine felt greasy but I just wore my shoes and didn’t have to think about it again I stay at a lot of hotels for my work and this is actually pretty common at many hotels

This is our go to place for a weekend getaway We didn’t have a reservation this time but stopped in to see if they had any of our favorite suites and they did We always get the one with the fireplace

Adds to a romantic atmosphere There were two ladies at the desk and while one checked us in the other came to the room and started the fireplace for us so it would be warmed up for us Very thoughtful The beds and pillows are great Very comfy to sleep on Been coming for years and will continue to come I highly recommend you try one of their fireplace suites and spoil yourself

The hotel grounds are lovely, and clean Location is great, close to shopping, restaurants, and 15 minutes from Purdue The rooms are showing age

Our bathtub was clogged, the shower partly clogged with low pressure The bathroom fan is super loud, as was the case with the room AC – bring earplugs The breakfast is continental, warm eggs sausages, and bread, muffins, oatmeal, and yogurt Staff is friendly and helpful

Cole Brillinger

Hotel grounds are gorgeous with all the mature treesSome rooms have a patio door which was great to relax outside The breakfast was your average Homewood free breakfast but had some fresh fruit which was perfect

Room cleanliness could have been a bit better especially the kitchenette but could have been a one off thing Pool is a no go Very very dirty

Stayed here 4 nights with family Very positively impressedHotel staff are all super nice and friendly, they make you feel at home and welcome

The hotel rooms are very nice: spacious, clean, good beds, good furniture Hotel lobby area nice an pleasant, free breakfast, coffee The location is great, really quiet, peaceful, green trees Facilities like gym and pool, plenty of parkingCould be more convenient if hotel had laundry service

Amanda Glass

The hotel was clean and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind! Proximity to the Purdue campus made it really easy to get toWhen we checked in, we were greeted with kindness and recommendations for places to eat and a map! So helpful! We had breakfast every morning and swam in the pool every day Breakfast had a variety and was always replenished and fresh

The hotel even provided some pool toys, which made the fun of the pool even better!

Mayesha Sahir Mim

One of the best stays ever The room and the whole hotel was very clean Comfy beds, functional appliances, awesome indoor pool, and a good breakfast buffet

There’s room service every 4 days unless you request otherwise The location is excellent, with many restaurants nearby and Purdue only a few minutes away The only negative is probably that the app Bluetooth room keys don’t work, you need a physical key card Above all, everyone at the hotel is extremely cordial and nice Will be back again!

Stayed for several nights this summer in pet-friendly king bed suite Room was really spacious and very clean Plenty of space for us to spread out

Bedding was comfortable; lots of pillows, tooReally nice touches in the room, such as a soap dish in the bathroom and extra table that rolls under the desk Our fur baby also appreciated the ample grassy areas for exploring outsideNice breakfast area with extra seating Hot tea, coffee, and cold water are almost always available (with lemon in the water on hot summer days)Everyone on staff was friendly, personable, and helpful The only improvement we suggest is that the exterior door at one end (near guest laundry) latches, but doesn’t lock That’s a concern in terms of security if not traveling with a guard dog!

Michael Kerrigan

This hotel is very run down They need to do updates to it Room handle was broken and was hard to get in

Looked like most handles were broken The ceiling in our room was coming down and was orange Breakfast did not taste good Walls were peeling where we were eating I won’t be staying here again until they update this place My parents paid far less then I did and there hotel was way nicer

We had an amazing time this Memorial Day Weekend 🇺🇸! My husband and I loaded up the dog and made a weekend of it and it was the best decision we could have made The campground is one of the nicest ones we have ever been to Everyone was so polite and friendly

You can really tell they take pride in providing you with the best camping experience possible! We will definitely be back soon!

missy northrup

My parents were here from Tennessee trying to find a camp sight The people were in the building but opened the door and said can’t you read the sign we don’t open till 10 Then he said I just wanted to know if you had spot available

They said we don’t check in till 2 and shut the door in his face Well guess they did not need his money He would of waited till then to check in if they were not so rude I will make sure that all my camping friends know all about this experience

This place is okay if u want some peace in camping They have trail but not that longthey have swimming pool for about 8ft deep but the thing i dont like this place is theres no much things to do

Money hungry ownersMy reservations were charged in full 2 weeks prior to intended stay without my acknowledgment or even providing a receiptThey refuse to refund after cancellation even though I did so 96hrs prior to my reservation

This is not a camper / customer friendly location Find somewhere else

Patti Mosson

I was a guest of a friend that was camped there I stayed about 2 hours My friend told me that she would be charged $5 for anyone that came to visit her there! That was shocking in itself

She had intended to stay for a month But, to use the pool was a $700 fee, fishing for her or her son was $100 an hour, electricity was an additional fee on top of the monthly rate! My question is, what are you getting for your money? I have never heard of any campground that charged it’s campers extra to fish, use the pool, or have guests! She left after 24 hours, didn’t get even a partial refund My advice, keep on driving past their sign

E “Murphdogg76” Murphdogg76

I travel and work on the road

So finding a good spot to call home while I am on a project is sometimes hard to find Upon finding this place through Google it seemed like a great place The owners seemed great! Upon getting to know some of the guest around the site I started hearing horror stories Guest being harassed at the pool, guest being charged for extra money for having their grand kids come visit for the weekend, guest being thrown out for unknown reasons and not refunded, and several other reasons as well There are several great places within a few miles of this place that may offer better services My advice if you don’t want to leave disappointeddon’t go

Good location, not to far off interstate It was around tons of restaurants and shopping Hotel staff was friendly and attentive! They had a good hot breakfast

Hot tub was not that hot and jets were not very powerful but still relaxing! Definitely had way too much chlorine as it faded my black swimsuit to a light tan color! But all in all my 2 day stay was great!

Evan Wang

Clean room and comfortable stay overall Walls are a bit thin so you can hear people if they are being loud in the hallway, but you can turn on the A/C to drown out the noise Pillows are very squishy, something to keep in mind if you prefer a firm pillow

Breakfast was standard with decent selection and seating, and free hot water, tea, and coffee all day was nice Staff was attentive and service was great

Nauman Butt

The staff is very friendly and the hotel was clean It’s conveniently located near grocery and other convenience storesThe morning continental breakfast was surprisingly wide, with offerings of teas and coffees along with eggs, fruit, cereal, breads etc

This is a very clean hotel, with comfortable beds and a good breakfast I am always hesitant when staying at a hotel because of bad experiences in the past, but this hotel stands out as a great place to stayThe staff were incredibly friendly, the room had its own air conditioning that actually works, the bathroom was clean and had hot water, and overall I was extremely happy with my stay here!

This hotel is modern and clean The room was nicely furnished with a lot of convenience features Everything was functioning properly, and in good condition

The King Size bed was very firm For us it was not very comfortable The pillows were very soft, not providing much support The water was sufficiently hot, and we had everything we needed for a travelling stop The provided breakfast had lots of choices and was very tasty

New since last summer My husband and I had booked a king room and were upgraded to a suite So nice and roomy

We were on a getaway for a few days with our daughter’s family We all enjoyed the pool and hot tub The breakfast and Kickback (happy hour/dinner) was nice There seemed to be something for everyone All the staff were pleasant and helpful The area had many restaurants close by and some fast food choices were within walking distance We would definitely stay here again!

Jenni B

The rooms are really nice The bed is very soft I would have preferred a firm mattress

The shower is powerful It’s helpful to have the shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispenser already there and ready for use The staff will not service your room while you are inside The food is mediocre Lots of restaurants in this location Lots of other hotels too No smoking on the property Yet, I managed to find a cigarette butt in the pool The whirlpool is the best thing about this place There is a fitness area and laundry on-site The staff is very friendly Happy hour is a plus

Graham Cardwell

I have stayed at a lot of hotels between the military and business travel This is easily of of the best hotels I’ve been too The accommodate our entire travel softball team

I have never stayed at the Residence Inn I can honestly say I was very pleasantly surprised Everything really looked very clean

The linen didn’t look dull like it hadn’t been sterilized The linen was pure white There was a full size fridge, microwave and a stove top to cook The other room had these appliances including a full size stove My daughter cooked a full meal for all of us to share and fellowship with the 2 grandmothers, the parents, and the granddaughter who by the way got her White Coat for veterinarian medicine! I highly recommend this Inn because the staff was great and every morning breakfast was on point! No continental breakfast here Eggs, sausage, hash browns, hot or cold cereal, coffee and juice The were other food items like fresh fruit, cup of fruits, bagel, waffles, and yogurt I can go on, but I think you’re getting the picture! I should’ve taken pics of all I said, but I was busy enjoying myself😁

I will have to say this is by far one of my favorite hotels it just give you that at home feeling This recent visit in particular was ok I needed to wash a few items in the Laundry room that’s open to the guest at a standard / reasonable price Oh my… it was a very unpleasant smell as of the sewer it self was in the laundry room

I seriously couldn’t believe how awful it smelled I definitely reported the smell fresh I swear I can still smell it on me🤮 fix the smell! Other then that , still one of my favorite places to stay Just fix the sewer smell in Laundry room!

I had a king sweet so much empty space in there the furniture was not put backward belonged Is the bathroom hair on the shower walls used amenities that weren’t thrown away and new replaced The bed was comfortable the towels were soft soft the room was free of dust the refrigerator was super cold it was just the bathroom that wasn’t great or the furniture out of place

Plenty of restaurants along the road steakhouse across the street ihop right down the road Burger Is king across the major road

1st of all I’ve stayed at a number of hotels before, during and after covid I felt the need to post about in depth about this place I generally post about price and what is expected

I’m paying approximately $1000 for 4 nights stay That’s including $42/night for my dog There’s an obvious odor in my “pet” room I didn’t have a TV remote and couldn’t turn on the TV manually The pool is closed despite being the middle of the summer The desk clerk had to come to my room to futze with the TV to get it to work There are dehumidifiers down every hall I can see the beginnings of mold on the ceiling in my room Everything is sticky in my room Please note the grossness of whatever the yellow yuck is on the lud to the ice bucket I WILL NEVER stay here again Unfortunately I’m locked in for this trip 😳🤯

Caity Veraar

Moldy, peeling caulk in showers Yellow and with toilet seat No hot water at 10pm

I called the front desk about it and they offered to come up to check it To confirm it was actually not hot? After some questioning I learned that there’s one tank water heater for the entire hotel, so there was nothing that could be done to remedy the issue, thus a visit to my room would be pointless It’s nice the rooms have a fridge with a freezer and a microwave, but personally, I’d prioritize modernizing the water heaters in the hotel over providing additional amenities like a fridge/freezer It was a disappointing stopover after a long day of traveling I guess I’ll just stink tomorrow

I remember this hotel being much nicer than it was The landscaping was sad lookingThe bedspread was stained

The bathroom floor and bath tub were in desperate need of a deep scrubbing They charged me $25 to unlock my room after I forgot my key, which is fine if that’s policy, but it was not busy at all when I asked and the manager didn’t mention the charge I just saw it on my bank account At least let people know the policyThe pool was gross It really needed a deep clean The pool area would be nice except having carpet surrounding the pool gives the place a musty/mold smell If you have allergies or are mold sensitive I would avoid this hotelOverall it was overpriced and a bit depressing of a placeThere is no reason it can’t be a nice hotelIt just needs to be taken care of better and customer service could be friendlier/more helpful

Kathy D

Here are some highlights: hair in shower, sink and bed Obviously, my room had been tidied, but not cleaned It was better than the first room they gave me, though- someone had been smoking in that room

Smell of mold permeated entire atrium and hallways TV did not work Bare feet on carpet seems risky Shower was accessible, and water ran allOver the floor of the bathroom during shower It couldn’t be helped and then shoes were required to enter the bathroom after the shower Potholes – HUGE potholes- were all over parking lot Weeds all over landscaping This was like staying in an abandoned property Restaurant is closed But who would eat in such a filthy establishment? Hardly anyone was at this hotel, but the people who were there were extremely loud – the room was buffered by screaming and crying both inside the hotel and out in the lot A loud dog was barking in another room The other guests I saw seemed sketchy There are no “renovations” happening, and a demolition is the only way to fix this property I’m at Purdue a lot to visit my son, so this location was great, but I would have much rather been farther away and/or paid more somewhere else This is a hideous hotel and I’ll never stay here again Avoid it at all costs

The Front desk staff were very helpful and nice young ladies The rooms definitely need work Pretty much a gut job is needed

Showers in both rooms were unusable There was no cold water in the bath or sinks The furniture was stained, torn and very outdated Beds were very worn and although the bedding looked clean it was stained Carpets were so bad I didn’t take my shoes off until I went to bed I would expect this out of a $5900 a night motel but not a $16500 Come on Hilton you can do much better than this Yes, we did change hotels for the rest of our trip

Stayed overnight with my fiance Super clean and nice staff Parking was a little hard to find as we were going in and out and sucked cause it was cold but we made it work

Loved our little studio like apartment room I was super impressed by the amenities and everything our room had to offer Close to my favorite place (Wolf Park in Battleground, IN) Also, close to fast food and grocery stores I work as a housekeeper at a different hotel branch but I love Marriott’s Highly recommend this location in particular!

Lorenzo needs to just retire or simply stop being just downright rude to guestsWe had to go to the front desk 2-3 times just to get clean towels The pool area had none

The pool was closed our last 2 days as someone I guess had an accidentThe bathroom had no fan so im guessing mold is growing wild in the wallLastly again Lorenzo needs a serious talking to We were here to lay our Brother to rest Nobody in our small group needed his hostility or condescending attitude

== PROS:• Donna provided great service• Great location relative to Purdue University== CONS:• Run down and dilapidated in general Not worthy of the TownePlace designation• Breakfast was bad I mean, federal prison Sysco food type of bad• Not worth the value

Especially the price gouging that takes place during student drop off season

Disgustingly dirty room with bad stale odorMy husband and I planned an overnight trip into Lafayette to attend an event on the Purdue campus & I chose the Holiday Inn based on the high reviews of the hotel Upon our arrival on Saturday afternoon we noticed how beautiful the hotel was on the outside and when we walked inside it was also very nice, spacious and nicely decorated We were checked in quickly and went to our room to unpack

Our the room overall was basic – The room furniture was pretty worn and roughed up But it was the cleanliness of the room (or lack of cleanliness) that really grossed us out The rooms carpeting did not seem like it had been vacuumed in sometimeall over carpeting but especially noticeable on the perimeterand by that I mean there was a small pile of seeds left under the desk and mostly piled near the wallnot to mention the entire carpet The bathroom was no better – aside the toilet it didn’t seem the floor had been swept or moppedAll the surfaces in the room were sticky and you could see the dried water marks where they’d been wipedSince we were only there for the night I didn’t bother saying anything to management I wish I had booked the Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn down the street Very disappointingAt least the bed itself was comfortable to sleep in – though as soon as I woke up I slipped by shoes on to walk to bathroom and shower we quickly got out of there in the morning

I’ve come here twice for work within the last 6 months – both times I have had major issues with the cleanliness Specifically housekeeping First trip, dirty tissues found in bedding (ew!!) second trip I checked in after 7pm and the room still had dirty sheets and wet towels on the ground

The front desk staff is amazing and so kind and accommodating so my two stars are specifically for them!!! Both times they relocated me to clean rooms, though I must say the whole hotel is damp and musty, carpets don’t feel like they’ve been cleaned in years I don’t have a choice of hotel with my job but if I did, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again

Absolutely disgusting hotel Arrived at 10pm and was told housekeeping was not done cleaning the rooms Waited until 10:45 and was given an occupied room that the front desk said there was no one in

Finally given a room that was disgusting with an unmade bed and towels all over the room Do not waste your money here Pay a few more dollars and stay closer to campus One of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had

The hotel is lovely and the beds are so comfortable, but what sets The Union Club Hotel apart is the service Every person we encountered from the valet to the front desk to the maintenance staff to our stellar waiter (Stephanie) at 8Eleven exemplified top-notch guest service Kudos to the training and management staff

As Marriott Titanium we received a hand-written welcome note which was a very nice touch If you travel to West Lafayette stay here if at all possible

Beautifully renovated hotel conveniently located on Purdue’s campus As a Purdue alumna, this hotel brings fond feelings of nostalgia and is smartly connected to Purdue’s brand ‘Love the black and gold decor, and the room’s layout is well designed and feels spacious

Plus, it’s connection to Marriott is convenient for Bonvoy/Marriott rewards membersThe staff members were amazing— and special shoutout to Guest Services Rep Gavin D who went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed back to Purdue and helped me adjust my checkout time so it aligned with my travel schedule Highly recommend and definitely planning to stay at this hotel again in the future!

Michael Mancuso

Not very pleased to start with the hotel cleaning people did not properly clean our room very disappointing they left dirty towels in room just folded up to appear freshly cleaned Did not replace skin cream or other bathroom products also the young man and female employee in the coffee shop were rude and failed to provide quality service The hotel needs better management to oversee the poor service
