This hotel is super outdated It needs to be completely renovated We had a problem with our plumbing in both the toilet and shower, the heating system emitted a burning smell, the ceiling entry light flickered constantly, and the electric keypad on the door was broken so we had to keep going down to the front desk

I couldn’t express my frustration to the housekeeping staff because the ones on duty didn’t speak English well I would have given 1 star but the staff was very accommodating and the manager helped us a lot I love the Marriott brand but I wouldn’t stay here at this location again until they bring this place up to code

Don Dude

Well maintained, clean, and comfortable rooms A very quiet location actually, but not far from 91 so good access Pool, gym, etc amenities, breakfast is typical mix of hot and continental

Staff is VERY helpful and pleasant All the HVAC in the rooms is in excellent working conditionParking area is a bit tight, but there is a place to park, just not the most convenient in the highway side lot areaDefinitely a great option if you want kind of a Centralized location for the Hartford/Springfield/Northampton/amherst area Not a tonne of restaurants or brewpub/taprooms nearby, but many within a 15-20 minute drive, so not bad

I have been staying at Hampton Inn in West Springfield for 7 months now as a travel RN Tammy is always so accommodating with my booking and difficult work schedule The staff is incredible

Yaira is so hardworking, personable, and at your service whenever need be!! She’s awesome! Ruth and David are so pleasant and also very helpful! They always make such great potatoes! The cleaning staff is always so sweet and hardworking as well Would definitely recommend staying here!

Clean enough and with very good breakfast, nice staffHowever, before making the reservation, I was told we could use the facilities after checkout, specifically the pool Which is the way it is in almost every hotel I’ve stayed in my life (even provide storage)

The pool was one of the main reasons we took the hotelThen, that morning I was told we couldn’t use it because we would no longer be guests at the hotel After spending $450 for two rooms for a night we would not be considered guests that day and not be allowed to get in a pool that is just there

Brent Alford

Did not enjoy the stay at this hotel The heater made a strange noise throughout the night I mentioned in the morning but was also checking out so no idea if they resolved

The rooms was one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in at a hotel The bathroom was also small and laid out in a weird design The room was clean and the bed was ok Breakfast wasn’t bad and typical Hampton Inn and included eggs, meat, potatoes and other options In a pinch it would get the job done if traveling through the area and need a basic place to spend the night but there are much better options in the area

We stayed here and blocked off rooms for family and friends for our wedding weekend It was the best hotel experience any of us ever had Tamika (the manager) would bend over backwards for you and all the maintenance workers were right there offering to help with anything

They set up pull out beds for bridesmaids to all be in one room, Gabe set up a wedding website for us to use on the invites so everyone had ease booking the rooms, the breakfasts were free and delicious, maids cleaned rooms first so people could check in early and get to our wedding rehearsal Everything was perfect They made our very busy weekend and our first night as husband and wife so easy and magical!

Justin Loughman

We chose this location due to proximity of Six Flags Very simple easy stress free ride to the park within 15 minutes The entire staff was very helpful and attentive to the details, always observed diligently cleaning all day

Every interaction at the front desk was efficient and pleasant The entire staff deserves recognition for ask the hard work noticed Upgraded and extended our stay because we enjoyed the location Also surrounded by food options, cinema half mile away We already have planned our next stay in a few weeks

ASC Professional Handling

Good rooms Service is below average Called down for extra blanket never received it

Called next night and got it awhile later On our 3rd day we are allowed to have the room cleaned We requested and it was never done Service was nothing better than red roof If you wanna pay the extra money for nicer hotel and service I suggest Marriott in Enfield One exit from this Hampton inn Had to stay here since it was full for the week

We stayed for 2 nights just a bit ago Extremely clean, including finding a drier sheet in the bedding (the best thing to find in the bedding at a hotel lol) Staff was exceptional and friendly

The only ding is that the rooms are fairly narrow, but the soundproofing between rooms was on pointBest point of design is that the whole room had a tile floor No gross hotel carpets to be seen!

K G

The Tru Hilton manager Rachel generously offered us a bereavement rate as we traveled to Chicopee for my aunt’s military funeral service As always, our Tru stay was excellent The rooms are clean and cheerful with nice desks and office chairs

The mobility accessible rooms are very large comparably and offer excellent space with vinyl wood floors for rolling a walker as well as spacious roll-in showers The breakfast is always good with fun yummy pancake maker and nice options including eggs and oatmeal Tru also has one of Hilton hotels best coffee! We love the fun locally themed lobbies, filtered water machines, clean fitness rooms, and friendly staff This hotel is near the highway but we slept well and appreciated the great value and safe parking lot to leave the vehicle overnight Definitely recommend!

Coach ShaVon Guinyard

This hotel is absolutely beautiful Our first night here we were greeted with outstanding customer service The morning after the same

We left for the day to visit schools and came back to dirty towels still on the floor and trash not emptied I called and asked for clean towels and was told I had to bring the dirty towels and get new towels After asking for the GM information I got “noise complaints” of music being too loud when no music was playing I then got noise complaints of talking too loud Which no one was We usually go to Marriott brand hotels We will stick with Marriott Very disappointing for the price we pay to stay here

Highly recommend I have stayed at the Dhotel numerous times It has a little bit of everything for everyone

Pool and hot tub are well cared for Beds are super comfy Breakfast is included and always a plus But mostly the staff are very attentive, and accommodating This hotel beats any chain/corporate hotel, which is an even bigger plus to support local entrepreneurs! Will definitely be back!

Lisa G

The hotel property is very nice The breakfast is great- fresh food and many choices The rooms are large and comfortable

The reason for the low rating is the terrible staff The front desk called my room at 4:30 AM and woke me up to tell me my son was on the lobby and had arrived My son was sleeping in our room! When I asked about it later that day, the man said that this person had our room number so he called us to see if we were waiting for him I asked if he checked his name or his parents’ names before ringing a guest’s room He said he had not I was woken up because of incompetence When I spoke to the manager the next day he was very nonchalant He did admit that his staff needed to be trained better His attitude was not very apologetic Also- I was there for 2 nights and my room was never cleaned When I asked they said they only clean upon request I wish I had known that I had to request That should be told to guests at check in I asked why I wasn’t told and they said that most guests just know that How can I know if I’m not told The staff is poor with terrible communication with guests Although it’s a very nice hotel, because the staff is so awful, I would not go back nor would I recommend it

Ernest Brown III

Clean and well maintained Staff were friendly and informative Pool and hot tub were just perfect

Breakfast was delicious Rooms were clean and provided that home feeling The only negatives would be the beds were very stiff and uncomfortable The elevator takes a long time to go from point A to point B When you exit the pool area you have to walk to the other side to use the elevator and water is noticed on the floor Sure you can put a wet floor sign down but if it isn’t picked up people will walk all over it and make mud from the dirt from the bottom of peoples shoes

This hotel can’t seem to decide what it wants to be In many ways – room comfort, decor, and friendly staff – it is more than a 3-star hotel But then as a guest you see room service plates on the floor from the night before long into the day, random food like potato pieces on the floor in the hallways, and experience shaky elevators that clearly need to be updated

Definitely a mixed bag, but we’ve stayed here twice and would do so again I’d just like to see a few more improvements

victoria hall

The building looks nice, the pool is nice and so are the rooms Staff were all very pleasant The reason for only 1 star is because I couldn’t get any sleep

All that covered the bed was a couple of thin sheets It was a snowstorm And very cold, all we had was just some thin sheets on the bed My room had an adjoining room with some sort of bachelor party happening When we went to the pool we waited forever for towels and were stuck at the pool without tows to be able to get out The whole time I was there I was cold

Luke Perczak

There’s a sense the 90’s haven’t left the hotel Let’s be honest, barely 2 elevators working but what’s worse is the black mold in the supply vents in the rooms So if you think you have an allergy reaction it’s not pollen

Our friends room had mold as well, so I assume it will be in majority of the hotel Bathroom has no powered ventilation The open concept of all the hallways inside makes this place noisyThis place needs more than bleach cleaning If you like nostalgia from the 90’s this place is for you

We had a 3 night stay at Candlewood Suites The room was very decently sized, clean and all the appliances worked great The staff was friendly and explained where everything was

The store area across from the front desk had plenty of food, snacks and games and appliances you could buy or borrow The food prices were really good There’s a gas station and a few restaurants within walking distance It was a very nice stay! Highly recommended

David Syracuse

The check in was smooth and easy, and the staff was friendly and helpful The room was clean and in good shape It had been modernized, but still had some older features

The closet door didn’t latch and there were just 3M hooks on the back of the bathroom door for towels The shampoo/shower gel dispenser had at some point fallen off the wall in the tub, and was just sitting on the vanity in the bathroom; the tape was still there in the tub The HVAC was loud and the wall thermostat didn’t work (even though the controls indicated to use that one) A clever little fan was provided to move air into the bedroom — it worked well The ice maker worked and the dishes were clean The hotel is dog-friendly, and our dog was very comfortable

Kristen Ott

I reserved a room for 8/5-8/7 and tested positive for Covid 8/1 As a responsible adult, I cancelled my reservation as to not spread the illness Because of this, I lost almost $500 due to their garbage cancellation policy that required a cancellation before 7/29

I would recommend staying at literally any other hotel that does not employ predatory cancellation “policies” during an unpredictable pandemic

The hotel didn’t have our reservation on file with the confirmation number received via Expedia We paid roughly $50 extra for a room that accommodated the # of guests in our party with a pull-out couch (not comfortable) The staff were super nice and the rooms were clean

I wish that they at the very least didn’t charge the extra money for an inadequate room The room we originally booked for two nights was available our second night and it was much more pleasant

Sammy Euston

Had no choice but to stay since we got in late and were exhausted by the drive but I’ve stayed in a good number of Hampton inns and this was by far the *worst* one! Stains everywhere, including one suspicious brown stain on the seat of the chair, bathroom had repairs done but they were awful and the tile needs new grout asap, there was still trash from previous guests in the cans, grass clippings all over so I know it wasn’t vacuumed Bed was noisy Hallways also had trash that wasn’t cleaned up

The front desk lady was very short with us Didn’t explain anything Didn’t even tell us our room number just wrote it on the key card envelop and sent us on our wayArea the hotel is in isn’t great either, parking lot had a ton of trash about including a dirty diaper that wasn’t cleaned up the next morning either Disgusting Stay anywhere else Not here

Ken Llamas-Figueroa

Stayed here for a quick overnight and I was happy to not be the one paying for the stay

The rooms were good size but nothing out of the normal I found hair in the bathroom that was from a previous guest so that didn’t instill much confidence in the cleaning The location was absolutely atrocious for me Located next to the freeway, I was able to hear all of the vehicle noise making it difficult to sleep The elevators were also extremely nerve racking to go on

I was at Hotel Northampton in May of 2022 for two nights The first night being the night before my daughter’s wedding It was an unusually warm couple days and the air conditioning in our room was less than adequate

This was not a big deal for me but my wife is sensitive to warm/hot room conditions so it was an issue for her The first night the fire alarm system sounded at about midnight and lasted for about 15 min I dealt with that OK When it went off again at about 2 am many people (including me) evacuated the building and were allowed in again 45 minutes later Remember what I said earlier it was the night BEFORE MY DAUGHTER’S WEDDING I got about 3 hrs of fitful sleep total and was not in good shape on her wedding dayI waited until now Aug 4 2022 to write this review as I hoped to replace my forever memory of Hotel Northampton as a place that never acknowledged my inconvenience and proactively did nothing Management knew a large wedding party was there and did refund the rental costs of a few guests that asked for it I didn’t ask then and won’t ask now; excellent customer service doesn’t wait to be askedThat’s it I’m done, just wanted to share a very personal experience

Alex Gorniak

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Northampton in the Gothic Garden Suite for our wedding weekend We really enjoyed our spacious room especially for having our brides and groomsmen over prior to the wedding Hotel Northampton was great to work with during our planning process to block hotel rooms for our guests as well as hand out gift bags when our guests arrived

Additionally, Hotel Northampton is located in the heart of Northampton which made it very easy to walk to nearby restaurants/stores We highly recommend a stay at this wonderful hotel and could not have asked for a better wedding weekend accommodation!

Such a lovely stay!!We enjoyed every minute of our time here Jay was welcoming and kind and our room was clean/quiet/cozy Breakfast was an inspired/homemade dish and we just really couldn’t have asked for anything more

This was an easy review to write because everything was solid, and we’d come back in a heartbeat

dana tomlin

Had a great stay at Jay’s He is very attentive & communicative He & his team were hosting a graduation party over the weekend

He made sure to plate food for me & I enjoyed watching the festivities from my roomYou are given a skeleton key to your room I got the Peurto Rico room! Great space There was a private bathroom with a shower I also had access to a shared bathroom with a deep tub for soaking There are plenty of spaces to enjoy the outside, work, or read a bookThe food was great & Jay’s special blend coffee is NOT to be missed Definitely a very special place 💜

Dennis Schaeffer

You could choose a nice mid-range hotel for your western Massachusetts lodging needs You could It’s a free country

Heck, we almost went that route this weekendBut blessedly, we chose Jay’s B&B instead It was 97 degrees out when we arrived, but we somehow felt ourselves cool off as our host wrapped us in the warmth of his hospitality before we’d even grabbed our overnight bags from the car It’d been a long crazy day And Jay read it on our faces, and then effortlessly acted as a true host does in easing and comforting weary travelersThere’s more to the story from there, and it’s in the same veinBreakfast was a singular delight — only our host Jay could outshine that wonderful meal So do yourself a favor next time you’re swinging through the area — or, heck, make it a destination unto itself — book a stay with Jay and be reminded of what true hospitality is

Very nice hotel The pool is open from 9-9 (For the kids) 🙂 They have a very delicious Breakfast, with tons of choices

Pricing isn’t bad either Once again though, I am all about the interactions The Gentleman that works at the front desk that checks you in was very nice Greeting us and chatting with us about our stay Can’t ask for better service!!!

Hannah Branham

Stayed for 3 days for work the room was very clean when I walked in I mean you could smell they just finished cleaning it was great The bed is really comfy has a really nice comforter and pillows The bathroom was very clean only problem with the whole experience was that the toilet kept getting clogged when I first walked in it already needed to be clogged before using it and also the sink wasn’t letting out water seems to be a little plumbing issues but room was comfy and cosy most of the employees were very nice and accommodating the pool is very nice it’s heated no salt water the gym also has a few good things to use and a water station

All and all great experience

Michael Bath

It’s a decent enough hotel Clean, friendly service, etc However, it appears as though it hasn’t been updated in quite some time

Decor was much more dated than many Hampton Inn’s I’ve stayed at Television was also quite small Location is okay, but there’s virtually nothing within walking distance unless you like crossing very high vehicular traffic areas, there is at least a Starbucks across the parking lot

My stay was due to an emergency situation My parents were involved in a pretty bad accident while in Massachusetts for the day The were brought to a trauma center where they both needed surgery and had to stay almost a week

This hotel it’s manager and staff went above and beyond trying to accommodate me and my parents friends who came straight there as well to help I can’t express enough the gratitude me and my family felt for their consideration, kindness and hospitality My family and I plan to return to this hotel as soon as we can to thank them again Besides all of this it’s a great place to stay The bistro and its chef are fantastic and the place was clean with many accommodations I would highly recommend

The air conditioning barely worked in our room, which was for the hearing impaired because they were low on standard rooms We arrived in the room around 1pm and the temperature was in the 80s We turned the A/C on full blast and maintenance came up and verified it was working

But by that evening it had only cooled to 75 even though set to 66 making it uncomfortable to sleep By the next afternoon (36 hours after arrival) it had finally reached 70/71 so we did not end up switching rooms given the associated hassle The issue seems structural with the room because the A/C unit is under a table blowing into the table The bathroom drain was broken and the water pressure in the sink was almost non-existent They also inexplicably have a “no rollaway bed” policy which would have made the room a lot more comfortable for our family of four Most of the staff were nice though

Worst hotel experience in my life I am willing to bet my last dollar the most of the 5 star reviews on this page are fakeThings they won’t tell you before you book: Indoor pool has a 5 person limit (and time slots were booked our entire stay)

Elevator out of service the entire stay Thermostat out of service the entire stay No microwave in the room The hotel is dingy, it looks nice in their pictures but trust me, this place is like a renovated Super 8 that had lipstick thrown on the pigStaff was rude from the beginning They lied and said there were no rooms available for early check-in until other families from our group arrived with our kids and were making noise in the lobby Then, magically, dozens of rooms opened up After that, the guy at the front desk decided to make his own rule that kids weren’t allowed to be in the hotel common areas without an adult We were treated like prisoners by the staff the entire stayAlso, don’t eat the breakfast My son waited an hour for cold pancakes When we told the worker that they forgot the bacon, he did apologize and return with his bare hand full of cold crumbled up bacon which I declined

Pros: lady at the front desk was very pleasant during check in (I believe her name was Heidi), very comfortable bed, room service actually checked in to see if we needed anything, most places I’ve stayed in have never checkedCons (one is hilarious now): the hallways reek of cigarettes, their was blood stained sheets when we first got there, partial mold spot on the ceiling by the balcony door and window, the handle to turn the shower on came off in my hand Now for the funny one: woke up at almost 4 on the dot to our door jiggling ( this happened twice according to my girlfriend but I didn’t wake up the first time and it wasn’t for as long) Thankfully my girlfriend put the door stopper in but after about 30 seconds of hearing that I got out of bed with my girlfriend traumatized as to what was about to happen and I saw a wedge and coat hangar propping the door open and the hangar was to close the door stopper from our side

I push the wedge out and open the door not sure what to expect and a worker from the hotel (shocked to see me and have the door open) telling me I’m not supposed to be in the room and asking me if theirs a fire stick in the tv ((at 4 in the morning)) I looked for the fire stick and told her it wasn’t there, offered to show her but she declined to come in, which it also wasn’t there after looking later in the morning and she asked who booked me to the room since apparently it was the incorrect one (I described her and this person said the name Heidi) then only said have a good night and no apology After this experience not sure if I’ll ever go back We still can’t believe this happened but it also makes for a good story

We just needed a place to sleep on our 16 hr road trip with 2 littles The first room we were shown was half prepared with all the pillows on one bed and no pillowcases, also moldy smell was totally off-putting Second room looked better smelled better, but found a cockroach on the floor by the bed so that was that

We got our refund, got back in the car and kept going For the very high price of approximately 200 usd it would be more than fair to expect a much better quality room This place is run down, unkept and gross

This hotel used to be one of my favorite in the area However, it’s in need of updating there was considerable chipped paint on the credenza in the bathroom

and the results so an unpleasant smell and the room The hotel was pretty busy and there was a considerable amount of noise coming from the room above us We were on the second floor a call to the front desk resolved the matter, but I wonder whether better signage might have been helpful about the need for quiet after 10:00

The beds were fine The room was simple, clean and adequate The breakfast was quite nice, for a hotel breakfast

Thumbs up on the fried potatoes, and the coffee was surprisingly goodDownsides; yes there was a mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room, but no microwaveA major complaint for a traveler in the digital age The TV was an LG, large and fairly nice It was positioned in the middle of the counter on which it was set, and an unnecessary (IMHO) grommet for the cables, made it impossible to push it back to have more usable counter But the inexcusable decision of the hotel was to lock down the control of the TV so much that, even though the HDMI jacks on the TV itself were accessible, it was impossible to select those inputs for the sake of playing one’s own computer or video-game console (for people who travel with their own media) You were stuck watching hotel channels on the nice TV or looking at your own laptop or tablet, if you wanted to stream a movie or something of your own boo

Chris Morrissey

First, important tip: If you want to use the HDMI input on the TV and you have an old remote, ask the front desk for a new remote We did and got a remote with an input selection and were able to watch video from our computerOtherwise, the room was very clean and we thought the beds were very comfortable

Lots of outlets, including usb ports for charging electronics Staff was very nice and helpfulMorning breakfast was very good, although somewhat limitedIt’s fairly expensive, although on par for the areaThey do have an array of electric chargers out front which is helpful for any EV ownersOverall, I would stay here againUpdate:Some have mentioned that there is no microwave in the room, and while true, there is one in the common area that is open for anyoneAlso, I checked with the management and they are in the process of replacing the remotes in all rooms with the newer version that allows selecting a different input, which enables viewing content from an HDMI cable
