I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times now and I haven’t had any problems with any of my stays I’m a particular fan of their Presidential Suite, which really is a very nice room, especially for the cost Their standard rooms are pretty decent as well

My only real complaint would be that they still have not opened the pool back up after COVID-19 and some issues with the roof I feel like they have had more than enough time to resolve any problems and open it up to guests again Other than that, I’ve really enjoyed my stays

Worst hotel ever Toilet not working and bath dirty with a ring around the tub and floor tiles loose Bed broke when i sat on the side (i am average size woman)

The bed was laying sideways off the base Went to grab the phone to call front desk and phone had no cord lol The sheets in the room we moved to had hairs all over and wrinkled like had been slept on and not washed This hotel was trashy and the front desk staff were always out the front door leaning on the building smoking anytime we came that direction and with all the issues we made several trips since there was no working phone in either room we had Ridiculous and overpriced i should get a refund for the trouble Disgusting WILL NEVER STAY AT A QUALITY AGAIN!!!!

Toniya Kelly

This was one of the worst experiences we had The hotel had suspicious people who hung around in the back of the hotel We had to move rooms twice due to them not being clean and having stains on the floor and bed linen

We tried to leave but unfortunately no rooms available in area due to tournament I had to go buy our own plastic mattress covers and bed linensThis was horrible and We were so uncomfortable I would advise anyone to try and avoid this hotel

Very quiet and super maintained hotel We got an upgrade which was really niceThe woman who was servicing the continental breakfast was very skilled at multitasking! Just loved her conversation with us

The food was fresh and hot and she was refilling as fast as she could The front desk crew were very friendly and accommodating When visiting friends in that area we will be staying here for sure Can’t say enough good about the staffing They all deserve a bonus! Great time! Stay here!

Josh Schenke

Staff was nice n friendly but as far as the hotel goes Bathroom had a few ants crawling around shower had a weird bunched up dirty napkin or toilet paper in shower handle Noticed the Bed sheets didn’t look changed/ untucked when I entered the room

Work van got broken into with no cameras on building but the neighbor mechanic shop has caught 2 or 3 break ins on their cameras I’m guessing so they aren’t liable for anything For the price of $179 for the night Was an awesome stay

Shawn Verma

Out dated hotel The rooms heating and cooling unit is old, can not set an exact temperature and the unit is very loud So loud that it woke me up few times

Gentlemen at the front desk was very nice and welcoming Hotel just needs some updates

Was charged $300 for a 2 bedroom room that had the smell of the last tenants bodily fluids I’ve seen better hotels in 3rd world countries Also, charged more than is legally allowed by Indiana state law

Maximum rate for the room is $250 Manager needs fired that was responsible It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen I kept my receipt Will email corporate

Frequent business traveler, staying on points for leisure Booked a regular King room, was upgraded to a King suite, thank you Unfortunately, we had to ask for another room

If it wasn’t graduation for Ball State students, we would have booked another hotel Rooms in all hotels in town are running aroung $250/night The room we were moved to was free of visible mold but has other issues we can overlook Unimaginable that a guest would accept those accommodations or that staff would not know about this and address it

Abigael Lee

unprofessional staff, except one of the gals Asked to leave our room do to carpets being cleaned It needs an upgrade, staff was eating the breakfast for the guest in the am

Pool was disgusting, hair all over and very dirty

The front desk staff was really helpful in a time of needThe rooms are really niceGreat pool

Nice area for breakfast where guests are able to sit and eat at a nice table and clean area And the front lobby area has a nice sitting area as well Nice kept ladies room outside of the pool areaNice vending machines not far from the front deskThe hotel was kept clean

Natasha Flora

Front desk lady was friendly The keys were not working properly Kept sliding and took forever to open the door

The only issue in the room was that before bed I just happened to open drawer to night stand and crawling inside was a big cockroach I killed it and didn’t see any more anywhere else in room I chose this motel to stay in because of the reviews I didn’t make a fuss because I was tired and spaced it in the morning leaving Just be careful and always check no matter the motel/hotel We always do

April Gibbs

The rooms are clean but it’s time for an upgrade which has nothing to do with the employees who are amazing! I’m giving this hotel 5 stars bc of the service and Dixie is amazing! She was very understanding to my children who both have autism and made sure to put me somewhere they wouldn’t bother other customers She was very helpful on other things, every employee I interacted with was polite and helpful for the entire 3 days we were there! Thank you BW employees!

Hello Parents who are visiting your kids at Ball State I see many hotels Based on the price and service you would expect with a Super 8 Hotel, this place is consistent

Rooms are clean and well maintained Reception has had nice staff over the last five years I have stayed here This place is not the Shangri La, but the people who manage this hotel could manage the Shangri La

Joseph Durham (OurAdventures)

I’ve stayed in a lot of of hotels, and this year I will be in Muncie three times But I will most certainly not be giving the Super 8 my businessThe hallways smelled horrible

The shower head was so clogged that the water dripped down onto the knob and left a puddle on the floor every nightThe ice bucket leakedMy keycard stopped working and I had to have it reprogrammed 8 times! I was carrying things from my car one evening and trying to get in my room and had to walk back to the desk lol I get the card reprogrammed, again! Upon checking out, carrying things to my car, second trip, went back to the room and guess what…had to get it reprogrammed again Absolutely ridiculousVery disappointed with the service and quality of the stay

Corina Baldwin

This was close to the college and the only one still available I have never felt so unsafe and so dirty Considered taking my daughter and sleeping in the car at 1 am after drunk people were constantly knocking at our door

Front desk didn’t think much about it, didn’t seem surprised and stated “it’s just the construction guy” I don’t understand how this is highly rated anywhere No one at the front desk the whole night, doors open wide Guy came in with open pants and extremely drunk The whole night people were in and out in the hallway

An unplanned stop at this hotel turned out to be a good choice 👍🏾Check-in was quick and the receptionist was nice and accommodatingThe first room we got had a clogged sink After not being able to get it unclogged right away we were moved to another room

The hotel was pretty clean, not spotless but good to goThe bed was comfy, shower was good, and our heads comfortablly sank into the pillowsIt was a quiet Friday night of rest which was perfect for getting back on the road in the morningWe enjoyed the light breakfast and coffee as a good start to the day before check out!

Jason Vlietstra

The room was nice but the breakfast was substandard The only issue I had with our room was the remote for the TV was taped and didn’t consistently work For breakfast there were 2 juice options, and coffee to drink, the only fruit was apples and some had decay, and a waffle machine

No yogurt, milk or any protein No bread for toast, or muffins Their excuse for limiting breakfast options is still COVID No this is just being cheap There are plenty of other hotels nearby

Tonya Peyton

Hotel staff was very nice That’s the only thing nice The room needed a good cleaning! The chair and ottoman were stained and dirty

The desk chair had what looked like dried blood The shower was moldy and dirty Whoever painted in there recently did a terrible job There was paint splatters on everything The room had a horrible smell Also, we had to listen to a screaming kid all night long!

It was awful The pictures make it look decent

nice even Upon arrival there were several questionable guests coming out In our room, the shower was disgusting There were hairs in there that weren’t mine and not from a head! The paint was peeling, there were stains on the curtains the heater/air was very old it was just gross Move on to another place!

Ashley Likens

It’s super big it’s right when you get into Muncie on the main road so easy to find and spot cause the size, the king room is nice kinda bare but nice large tv which is a plus but the channels seem to go fuzzy quite a bit, it was nice and clean and saw housekeeping in the halls which I like seeing that cause it just shows they do clean and I’ve been to a couple hotels lately where you NEVER see house keeping, the beds are comfy And super quiet atmosphere

Monique Miles

First off NO Elevator!! Wasn’t told I would have to drag my heavy suitcase up 2 flights of stairs, the hallways smelled bad, bullet holes in the wall, then my key didn’t work, the bathroom had dead bugs in the corner by the tub, toilet seat wasn’t clean nor was is tightened to the toilet, i had to clean the toilet myself and i sprayed EVERYTHING with lysol, had stains on the sheets The door hinge looked like someone used a crowbar to get in or out About 1am someone was wiggling our door handle

It was a nightmare!! I only stayed there because I was hours away from home and everything around there was already booked I will never go there again!!

I had the pleasure of staying here during a recent trip to Marion for faculty meetings from 4/25-4/28 I must say, I am not typically a customer of the Super8 chain of hotels, and would’ve opted for something newer had this not been a business trip Though I was underwhelmed with the decor and furnishings, I was overwhelmed with the hospitality of the staff

Every staff member on every shift was just amazing They made every effort to accommodate my requests There were a few things that I thought would be great to know before traveling:-If you are staying on the second floor there are no elevators-They are a pet-friendly hotel, so not idea for folks with allergies-Speaking of allergies, it is an older hotel-There is no iron or ironing board in the room (which I guess is not a problem for most)-As a woman traveling, I would want to know that this hotel is frequented by truckers My father was a trucker so I have a lot of respect for this bunch, but still need to be aware of your surroundings-There is no continental breakfastOverall, it was a clean, quaint room without all the bells and whistle, and suited my needs I did not pay for this, so can not speak to the price Would I stay again?- not by choice, but it doesn’t mean it isn’t a good choice for the right person! And every one of those front desk staff needs a raise! They are just fantastic

David R.

Not as advertised Not a bad hotel by any means, but made to look a lot better than it is in person There is no problem with the staff, in fact the hospitality by the front desk was a highlight

However, there was no breakfast present, the building doesn’t even have space for it The lobby was organized but clearly worn-out and yellow-stained Same for the room Some photoshop or retouch was done for the photos because the room is as yellow and lackluster as the corn fields outside The bathroom is reminiscent of a prison, with possibly once white shower curtains and bath tub adding to the beige monotony Worth the price? Sure But lower your expectations, and be wary of the falsely positive reviews

Gabriel Norris

It’s very simple

Literally nothing intended for guests to use or enjoy works in this hotel Literally nothing There are signs on everything Drinking fountain, guest computer, guest laundry room, even the breakfast room is “out of order” There’s a place for a hair dryer in the bathroom and no hairdryer 😂To pay over $100 per night for a room and have to just deal with the fact that the owners obviously won’t fix anything and falsely advertises amenities that are “NOT AVAILABLE” is not acceptable And don’t think about just going to the other hotel across the road because the same people own that one tooIf you expect to get what you pay for, don’t stop here A third world experience for first world prices I don’t think I’ve ever left another review at a hotel but this place just deserves to be exposed and other people warned They are indifferent and seem to have no reason for doing these things and no desire to rectify the situationI will say the problem who work at the desk are nice but seem to be embarrassed because guest complain about the same things all the time and the owners won’t do anything about it Just a sad and frustrating experience here 😢

One day of our reservation got canceled because we didn’t arrive by a certain time that night The personnel that worked there were very nice and respectful However, there isn’t a complimentary breakfast and the only food options at the hotel are very expensive

The comforter on one of our beds was still dirty and there had been something spilled down the cabinet by a previous guest and it wasn’t cleaned The cleanliness of our room was not the best, but the staff being so helpful made it a decent experience The room layout was pretty good though

J Garcia

Stayed for two nights I had to ask for a non-joint room-which took me from the top floor to the 3rd floor It was not bad-I did not hear any one walking above my room

Also, the customer service attendant still placed my room facing the north side to view Downtown(👍🏼)Close proximity to local restaurants and pubs Restaurant and Big box chains are about 7mins away The hotel is clean with normal wear and tear inside the rooms, see the attached photos The room does not hold the extra Cotton/fleece blanket in the room But, the front desk is very accommodating and supplied two when I asked for one(Thank you)-Hopefully this review is helpful-

Eric Zago

Great hotel, beds are a little firm for my liking, but has a whole it is a great experience Rooms are spacious and clean, staff is friendly Rooms are well sounds proofed, barely heard a thing

Will definitely come back if I’m in Muncie again

It’s a nice place to stay actually The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating The rooms were nice

Usually, the showers just suck at these places Not here! The shower head was decent, and the water pressure was excellent You could actually shower off, not just a trickle of water Did have free breakfast Nothing super fancy but it got the job done This place has a nice pool and whirlpool area, and it was open The vending machines were fully stocked and they also worked properly, which is another hard find at a hotel usually It was a quiet stay, as generally these places are pretty noisy This one is not Rooms have a mini fridge and a microwave I highly recommend this hotel, and I will definitely stay here again in the future

Hayley Couch

My husband and I stayed here a couple days! We asked at check-in if the pool was open and stated our children would be coming the next day to swim for a few hours When we came back with our children the owner or manager not sure what his position is was very unwelcoming and unprofessional! There’s lack of communication or proper training for the employees! Our entire stay was a waste of money, Other than the breakfast! Our room still had trash from previous guests food left on the floor in the corner They have electrical work hanging from the ceiling in front of the pool entrance! Vending machines don’t work properly! For the quality of the hotel they’re extremely overpriced! Comfort in will not receive a dime from our family again!

Becky LeBeau

Very disappointing, booked over the phone, pics on line are not accurate I paid $16240 for a $70 room

In need of update, but I could have dealt with that had it been clean and everything in working order To begin with the tub was clogged and wouldn’t drain for showers, next we felt bugs, didnt see any but I know what having bugs in your bed feels like from other motel experiences, the bed had blood stains on sheet and inside of comforter, we slept on top with our own personal blankets By midnight it had gotten warm when we turned on the air it wouldn’t come on after turning it down to 60 degrees it came on after getting back in bed it went off after 5 minutes and wouldn’t come back on for about 10 minutes, this is how our whole night went Trying to get ready the next morning with a bulb out over vanity and very dim lighting was not easy Before leaving I was going to put a bucket of ice in my cooler, but when I got to the ice maker it was out of order (imagine that) When I checked out I told the lady all the problems in the room and she gave $2240 back and said if I wanted more I would have to call back on Monday As I was leaving the lady called the maintenance man over to her (I assumed she was letting him know the issues in the room) However when I called back on Monday the manager said she would call me back, when she did she said everything worked in that room and she had decided not to refund me any money After arguing with her she hung up on my husband and I I do NOT recommend the motel, I have never written a bad review for any business before, but I was over charged because of limit availability because of a event going on, but was willing to pay it, but terrible room

Quite possible the worst customer service I have experienced at a hotel It was cheap to book compared to the other options in the area That being said, I recommend paying the extra bit and stay somewhere where they care about your stay

My booking was a 2-Full bed room for a week with 2 adults and 3 children The add claimed 5 could sleep in the room There is no couch but when I asked about a roll-away bed they then told me it was available for $15/day They came in to clean the room twice during our stay The second time was after asking for 2 days straight They maintained 3 towel sets as their standard for every room The whole hotel is listed as non-smoking but smoke could be smelled at anytime stepping out of the room The breakfast that would normally be provided was not offered When confronted with our issues about housekeeping, the management blamed Expedia for allowing us to book the room (We actually had booked with hotelscom) My pregnant wife was not happy with any portion of our stay

Janet Schnees

We are from out of state and booked 2 nights with only pictures on the website Pictures are not true of condition From the lobby entrance, very run down and in need of update

We were given a look of shock when we said we had booked a room, by host & guests Upon entering a sign on the door indicated that they rent weekly & long term Told us to come back later to check in, we were a little early We went to another hotel & rented a room, canceled this room Glad we did !

William-Dean Acree

The room was dirty There wasn’t a mat in the shower There were cigarettes burns on the blankets and bedding on the bed and also the box springs had a lot of dirt on it and the bed moved at the slightest tough

The clerk was also very unprofessional when I brought up the paper work said in black and white that we could check in at 3:00pm local time and we didn’t get the room until 5:30pm After I showed him that and said that it sounded like a mess he became visibly angry and said he was going to cancel the reservation that I had I definitely will not use this hotel again How in the world they won a best hotel award is beyond me

Very disappointing I spent two days at the Hampton Inn First night we had trouble opening the door to our room It was 2:00 am

and we were not able to get in bed because all of our things were locked in another room At 2:00 am then ended up moving to a different room The bathroom door would not locked and made a terrible noise I complaint at the reception and was informed that there was no other room available The second day, the air conditioner was not working It was 88 degrees outside and needed to get ready for a wedding I was informed that they did not have any other rooms available and that they will fixed the AC After returning from the wedding, the AC my room was at 78 degrees The AC was not fixed and I was not able to sleep in I woke up the next day at 7:00 am as I was sweating Very bad customer service Please don’t waste your money

Jean Howard

Communication poor! The management staff at this location is unprofessional! How can you complain about a customers about there understanding of the rate in a conversation that you weren’t apart of? Staff was untrained on how to find communication notes on the account because of there lack of knowledge and instead of it ending with that manager makes a complaint about the parent How did that even need to be mentioned as a complaint against the guest? How unfortunate that this establishment is even connected to Hilton HonorsAlso,Water pressure in the showers were very low, old heating and cooling system and elevators

Chris Hopper

Stayed there for one night on 7/30, room 308 Got up in the morning and the shower was unusable Only 1 person in the family could take a shower that morning because you ended up standing in an inch of water, which is GROSS! Went down and mentioned it to the front desk

They said a manager would call me when they got in, and there was no call! I typically have good luck with Hampton’s, do not think I would go back to this one

I only rated this hotel 3 stars because the hot water was not good I tried to take a shower & it started buzzing so loud I was scared I was going to wake up the people next to me The water then lost all pressure

When I checked out the lady didn’t even ask how my stay was, and when I informed her about my issue she didn’t even try to make it right She acted like she already knew Besides that, the room was clean Bed was comfy
