Recently booked the Bentley Inn for our anniversary as a quick one night getaway for my spouse and I After looking up the Bentley Inn, I knew I needed to stay here It is the cutest bed and breakfast and the transformation it has undergone is just beautiful

I had the opportunity to talk with Tess the owner and she was just wonderful She gave us a wonderful recommendation for lunch while are room was being cleaned Beach passes are included which is a nice perk as many places I did look at did not offer this for their town beaches along with beach towels to use! I also was able to borrow a book to read on the very clean and quiet beach which was a short walk away! Our room (room 11) was clean, inviting, and perfect for our night stay We had a small view of the ocean which was nice There is some noise from the main road but nothing that bothered my husband and I Our bathroom had wonderful clean products to wash our hair and bodies with which I appreciated The small breakfast spread was nice and the coffee they get from Ports was also delicious Thanks to Tess, we stopped on our way home to grab a Cocolicious she recommended Overall, we enjoyed our stay and how close it was to the beach and to walk to other spots in town! We highly recommended this spot to our friends and family and will definitely return soon!

Had such a wonderful stay at this inn! Like most vintage inns on the Jersey Shore, the bedrooms aren’t huge, but the inn is beautifully furnished and has many comfortable, cozy, zen common spaces to enjoy The breakfast was absolutely delicious each morning and very filling The outdoor porch upstairs is a great spot to sit and read or have a glass of wine

And the proximity to the beach (just one block away) is fabulous I am already planning a trip back! I’d recommend this place to anyone – very welcoming and a true home away from home

Robin Toth

We love this inn! Beautifully renovated with all you need for a quick beach trip The staff is very friendly and welcoming We love the morning breakfast and comfy places to lounge! Only concern is the sounds of traffic outside the inn, but it’s the Jersey Shore in the summer- so this is to be expected

The inn is in a gorgeous, peaceful neighborhood away from the shore chaos Will be returning soon!

My children had such a wonderful time staying here! We usually stay with our family when we go back home to New Jersey but this time my little guy was getting over a cold and we couldn’t expose my father who is currently going through chemotherapy Hotel staff for super nice and accommodating! Definitely will return if the situation like this ever arises when we are going home to see family

My son and I stayed on the night of June 16 and everything looked good and clean Staff was nice and welcoming In the morning while we were still in bed I saw a live bug on one of the pillows

Wasn’t sure what was it I put a sock on it and carried the pillow to the bathroom and shook the pillow over the sink There it was a live bug and took a picture and made the image bigger and compare it on Google to check if it was a bed bug Indeed it was a bed bug Grabbed it with a tissue and took it to the front desk to talk to the receptionist She was nice and apologetic about it She mentioned she was going to talk to the manager and maintenance people about it, but for the moment she couldn’t do anything She asked me what else she could do for me and I mentioned a refund She said she needed to talk to someone else, but they were not there for the day, but she offered us a free breakfast I get that people travel from different places here and there, but being a not that cheap of hotel you and you expect not to see this kind of things I said I needed to bring this to her attention because of their reputation and people don’t know any to take this to their homes I’ve never had this experience They never called me back She mentioned they were going to investigate the place I think I gave her the evidence and the bug was still alive in that piece she tissue They needed to call and exterminator or something of that nature instead of investigating what was already evident I hope they did something about it:

I’ve visited the location a few times, it ok, your average 3 star hotel The staff’s customer service is sometimes good sometimes not – but my last visit was a good experience The rooms are spacious, average decor

The noise level is ok, not the quietest, especially during warm months when lots of people are in and out Overall average hotel, my go to when I’m in a bind for cash and or time

Thank you so much Jen !!!!! This place is highly recommended and indefinitely the best motel around! Make sure you do your research before booking places to stay here This place has a full bath , kitchen , living room , & decent sized rooms! You will not regret coming to starlight !

Melissa G

Starlight was a great beach motel for sure! Definitely one of the better ones if not the BEST I’ve stayed in at the Jersey Shore All these reviews are true, at first I was like wow

no bad reviews Lol but it’s for a reason! The pool is a great size, as the rooms are pretty big also We stayed in a two queen and a twin The room was also super clean, beds were comfortable and the ladies in the front were very friendly The only thing that we weren’t crazy about at first was sharing a parking spot with someone and having to give our keys to the desk if we park someone in however we didn’t have issues with it so it worked out fine during our trip I will definitely stay here again, Ortley is such a cute area and I definitely liked it much better than staying in Seaside for sure Thanks Ortley and Starlight for a great beach getaway! 💖🌊☀️

Kimberle Leque

This place was absolutely horrible…we had a queen size bed for 4 nights The room itself was very dirty, the toilet didn’t flush, the smell of mold that came out of the A/C was awful, I had to wear a mask…then to top it off the smell of the restaurant and all the garbage that was out for the animals to pick at…absolutely horrible place…save your money…needless to say we left the very next morning, completely ruined our vacation

Colleen Ciecura

A very well run Motor Lodge Cleanliness is priority here! The staff is extremely friendly and they give a feeling of home yet being on vacation!Everything is well sanitized, The rooms are very nice with something for every budgetYou are steps away from the beach and within 10 minute walk or less to some great restaurants

Very relaxing to sit on the balcony and just well relaxNeed to get away for a few days you won’t be disappointed!

Thaddeus Lazor

Room was clean, nice sitting area in front of room, have been coming here for years annually Mattresses were hard, needs some updating Pool was not sufficiently cleaned although we had a little rain in the morning

No more tables with umbrellas, no sitting chairs We were at pool at 12:30 PM A lot of sand on the bottom of the pool and bugs on top and along the pool wall Asked the woman at the desk if someone could clean it and she said it was cleaned at 9:00AM and that’s it I said as a guest it’s dirty, very rudely she responded it was cleaned Not the service and clean pool I remembered I don’t think we’ll be back, very disappointed on this trip

I came across Luna Mar completely at random and had never been to Seaside Park previously What struck me when booking was review after review mentioning how long they’ve returned to Luna Mar (sometimes multi- generations!) Prior to arriving, I corresponded with Tom and he was great answering all of my questions and accomodating my later check in

Once my family of 5 arrived, everything was perfection They truly make you feel like family Tom and his wife are fantastic, rooms cleaned daily, fresh bagels and (good!) Coffee every morning Steps from beach and comfortable walk to boardwalk and amusements Count us in as another family that will return year after year! Sarah & Luca Family

Best place to stay If your visiting LBI! Free showers in back to wash sand off after beach! Hotel rooms, service,& pricing are great! Al & Christine & family are great hosts as well as very knowledgeable! Awesome location at quiet end of island! Great places to eat & shop at nearby! Beach tags can be purchased here & the beach itself is close by!

Tim Bartlett

We came down to the North Shore in in May while our floors were being redone We had heard good things from friends who stayed there last year, and we were not disappointed We had two of the standard first floor rooms and they were spacious, impeccably clean, and pleasant

We had to do some work during the day, and we found the table provided in the room a good place to work The owner (Chris?), welcomed us and was flexible when we weren’t sure how long we were going to stay I also love this part of the Island, which is a bit quieter and less overrun than the other parts It’s amazing to be so close to the beach This place is *very* good value for money

Katie

We love staying here 🙂 We try to visit every summer!! 🌞 The North Shore Inn is so convenient to the ocean, the lighthouse, and restaurants on the north side of Long Beach Island The owners are exceptional and always so nice and happy to help !! We reserved one of the suites on the top floor and it had the perfect kitchenette for our shore stay We had a microwave, mini fridge, mini stove, and sink

The suite also came with pots, pans, dishes, and utensils 🍽 The accommodations were very clean and tidy and there is an outdoor shower area to wash off before you enter your room

Excellent customer service Needed 3 rooms and was accommodated on the same day Rooms were very spacious

Cleanliness was A+ Pool was so amazing I can honestly say this is one of the best places to stay in Point Pleasant Marie at the front desk was amazing, friendly and very helpful Carlos in maintenance went above and beyond to make sure all 12 of my party were taken care of Gina at the front desk during the night shift was wonderful I look forward to booking again

Jamie Ezzo

I got locked in our room and the office lady was so rude She blamed it on us and kicked us out! They literally had to drill me out of the room Also the police busted in our room the night before

This is more for kids to stay NOT for families! Then the maintenance guy got my phone number from the front deck and started texting me! Very unprofessional Then they charged me for the screen when I was scared for my life because I’m claustrophobic! If anything they should of put us in another room! The lady at the front deck in the evening was so nasty and disrespectful it was unbelievable! Don’t bring your family here!!

Lisa Kapoian

Point pleasant manor let’s guests be guests and has a great friendly atmosphere You need anything and there are plenty of workers there to get it for you Everyone young, old, college age, were friendly and happy to be there

We stayed here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and it was great! Patty and Jane were the very best hosts! RANDI CARNEY

Booked a room for two nights When we arrived, he gave us room #3 My wife, two young kids and I entered the room, and wouldn’t even put our bags down

It was disgusting! hair in the beds, spiders all over the walls/ceilings, smelled like mold, and bathroom was filthyI went and told him, and he said “Oh sorry, here take room #1, that’s our best room”We walked into that one, and it was just as bad, only this one had blood on the pillow caseI went back and told him we just can’t do it, so he said we would be refunded, and “couldn’t understand it, he had his best cleaner do that room, and he just shook out the sheets himself”that was in july, here we are almost three months later, and he still hasn’t returned a call, or refunded our money as promised I guess some people feel their reputation is only worth a few hundred dollars Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere

Paul Flores

Rooms are small 2 beds, nothing fancy, yet, very clean It was accommodating enough for 2 adults,1 teen, 1 toddler & a just right space for a playpen/ bedParking is tight but manageable

The only redeeming quality is the front desk staff We had a reservation for a King; that didn’t happen Was told: “we will put you right by the ice machine” (out of order)

Room was never “cleaned”; had to go down to the desk for clean linens I defy anyone to describe the water temperature as “warm” Hot water is not in the discussion…”not cold” is the best description The only thing complimentary is water at the front desk

I stayed for a wedding I was in just two weekends ago the wedding was a Saturday and I stayed the Friday before because I was UNABLE to stay the night of the wedding First, the room I booked was not next to the bride in which is was supposed to be and it was clarified when I got To the hotel for check in as I was assured it was the same floor and next to the room

I ended up being on a total separate floor The brides father went down without my knowledge and made sure they changed my room so they ended up doing so…The day of the wedding around 930-10 I brought all of my things to my car and got ready in the bridal suite Hair makeup and all Room card placed on the counter for checkout Busy wedding day it was clearly The night went on and I was downstairs from 2-10:15 pm for photos then the actual wedding I left the hotel to go home with my child I DID not stay a second night yet I was charged as I did I nicely reached out to the hotel management and was basically told, well you may not have stayed but someone must have the room key was “apparently” used well after midnight!? Ok well again, wasn’t me!! The service is horrendous and they should have given me my money back but they did not instead they said well we did you a favor and will refund you 50 percent off… umm? No… my money should have been fully refunded back to my accountI will never stay here again needless to say! Unreal and not good customer service skills here You guys should actually be ashamed!Don’t stay if you don’t have to people Trust me

Could have been a great vacation but read the reviews before booking I’ve never met less hospitable staff at a hotel than here While I was there, the ladies at the front desk managed to make a group of guests — extended family with several generations — feel very unwelcome

We have been coming here to stay since 2005 It is our go to They are one of the few places open all year round which makes it a great place to stay for fishing any time of the year

Rooms are clean and well equipped with cleaning service offered daily along with a smile It is close to the beach, the boardwalk, and many good restaurants There is a nice sized heated pool that makes for a relaxing afternoon There is ample parking close to the rooms that makes it easy to unpack your belongings They also do a happy hour at the bar on site where they serve good drinks at a fair price and complimentary food items such as pizza, small sandwiches, soup, mac and cheese, and many other items depending on the day The family that runs it are wonderful people who we consider friends after so many years They are very helpful and accommodating It has become our home away from home You can’t pick a better place to stay in the area You won’t be disappointed

Overall, my experience with this hotel was okay The doors didn’t work well and took a lot of jostling to open The helper, Frank(?) was a bit eccentric and gave me a strange vibe but was very helpful despite this

Their breakfast was phenomenal for hotel food, though Their pool was also great They had hot water in their showers and warm beds in their rooms I would recommend it to others but if you do go, then ask the helper before using the doors, just so you get it down

We loved this place! Yes the rooms are dated but that’s ok!! They literally went above and beyond for me and our family! We stayed from April 19th till April 24th I sent them messages asking for our room to be extra sanitized due to my son being on chemo and that they done!! They only came in for room to service it when asked (due to my son being on chemo) they made sure we had a good working refrigerator and all that! The room and beds were super clean they even gave us an updated newly painted room!! And as we was staying there they was working on getting the pool ready for the season!! My kids loved the fact that it’s only a 5 minute walk to the beach, so it wasn’t too much for my son!! That’s a PLUS!! The desk clerk’s were awesome!! They even called to check on us as we was running late to check in (traveled from Oklahoma) The only two downfalls I can express was they didn’t have a breakfast, and the elevator is super small and the doors on the elevator don’t have sensors to stop them!! But other then that this place was pretty awesome for our family!! THANK YOU WINDJAMMER FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY!!

I was visiting a friend there I was actually surprised at how much nicer the rooms were from when it was The Sea Pine Much cleaner and more modern

The rooms are a lot better than some of the hotels I’ve been to in Florida that are in the heart of everything and suppose to be nice I would recommend staying here in the summer when the pool is open

Liliana R.

Don’t let the pictures deceive you The room I had was very small and dark The curtains are old and they don’t close completely allowing sun light in early in the morning

The bathroom door was not hung properly as it was very hard to close The shower area, the tub was rusty and old The pictures of the pool are true and the grounds are well kept Review your options carefully as there should be better places for the same expensive price We won’t be back for sure

Writing a review takes great effort b/c of how busy/demanding life is but in this case I just had to — my husband and I came to the area for a wedding at the Bay Head Yacht Club on a Friday and after looking at the hotel choices I decided to search for a B&B instead What a gem we found at The Tower Cottage Tony is a wonderful, kind and superb host who we personally got to know the few days we spent in Point Pleasant

He and his wife have worked incredibly hard to create an environment for their guests The breakfasts hit the spot, our room was so clean, so thought-through and tastefully created It is a great location if you are a beach person Thank you Tony for a wonderful stay and I hope to visit again this Fall when the beach isn’t as busy You are a hard working couple! My wife and I rented two rooms with the second for our close friends who were celebrating their 25th anniversary When we arrived we were greeted by Tony who was so welcoming that we immediately felt at home Everything about the place is impressive…the decor was amazing and the rooms were so inviting that we almost didn’t want to leave to go to dinner

After a very restful nights sleep, we awoke to a delicious breakfast that added the finishing touch to a wonderful weekend! I highly recommended The Tower Cottage…it is awesome

Tower Cottage Inn in Pt Pleasant is a gem Beautifully decorated and maintained, beyond clean and comfortable The breakfasts they served were truly gourmet and made fresh – from scratch

We stayed for 3 nights and never ate a meal the rest of the day after those amazing breakfasts!! We barely had a desire for dinner LOL Tony and Maureen go out of their way to make your stay perfect, and it truly was Thank you both!!!

I stayed at the Clarion Hotel, Toms River for three nights while I was in the area visiting family The common areas and my room were very clean and well maintained There is an outdoor pool (not heated) which was nice and the outdoor furniture around the pool seemed fairly new

A hot buffet breakfast was available but not included in the rate Good breakfast! There is a nice bar that serves surprisingly good food I had a Caesar salad with grilled salmon that was exceptionally good There was entertainment (music) at the bar on the Saturday I was there Seems to attract a local crowd If you are there to sleep and are not into loud thumping bass be sure to ask for a room far, far way My room was pretty far way but it was still a bit annoying The NJ shore area is stupid expensive for hotels (one would think it was close to the beach for the price) but I would stay here again

Room was super small 2 beds that didn’t look like the sheets were changed very often Heard there were bed bugs here as well

Outdoor pool was pretty nice, but the chairs and tables around it were very poorly maintained as was the exterior siding of the building Room was very bland, boring, and the smallest TV i’ve ever seen Only nice thing was the bathroom, thank god Restaurant was dark during their open hours, and bartender was a very weird man It’s Gross A Dump Wouldn’t stay here again
