It was what I expected it to be, nothing more, nothing less The rooms were clean and well-equipped, but they weren’t made up (apparently they don’t do this unless you specifically request it) I used the fitness centre and really liked it

It was also great to be able to use the laundrySome of the staff at the front desk seemed really unhappy to be there

Joydeep Paul

Clean hotel and well maintained rooms even though it’s shows it’s age Right at the heart of center city it’s a great plus Parking is expensive if using the valet

There is a $15 parking spot just the next block The staff was mot what I would expect from a star hotel Anyone who does not show they are enjoying their work is a big negative in the service industry Overall it was a comfortable stay

Ian Melvin

Nice facility! Friendly housekeeping staff and hotel itself is well kept There were a bunch of people smoking on our floor but we know that the hotel has no control over what guests do inside their rooms unless reported Walking distance to so many restaurants and attractions

Warning, walk outside in the evening at your own risk Pleanty of people will stop you to try and ask for money but isn’t that in all big cities though?

The room was decent, only downside is the rooms aren’t sound proof We could hear everything But other than that, the stay was fine and served it’s purpose

The location is right of the highway And it looked like there was a small park about 5 minutes down the street where you could possibly grill and have a small cookout There were a few tables out there Take a peek if you’re ever in the area But hotel was fine, clean, staff was friendly

Carrie Wolford

The best part was Ms Essie (forgive me if got the name wrong), who was tending to the continental breakfast bar She is definitely a happy person and seemed to really enjoy interacting with guests

Nothing was lacking on her watch, everything was stocked perfectly She seemed to take pride in her work, rightfully so What a sweet lady Our room was what we expected We were next to the elevator but it surprisingly didn’t disturb us The building appeared to have some renovations done within the last few years There was a good sized parking lot with three electric car chargers We were glad not to have to park on the street The neighborhood was fine, it was on the edge of an industrial park It was along the highway but we couldn’t hear traffic from inside There are very few electrical outlets in the room The desk attendants were all polite and attentive

The Best Western Hotel is a great hotel to stay at, it’s clean, up to date and the rooms are comfortable, I felt safe The young lady, Tashema I think that’s how to spell her name I was blessed to have help me at my check in Thursday evening, 06/02/22 couldn’t get any better, she was professional, polite, helpful, she knows her job to the T, and most important to me, she knew what she was doing and didn’t send me through unnecessary tasks

The common area is comfortable and welcomingThe hotel is located in a business district, HWY, and just a few blocks away from Cooper River Park, safe enough walk to, where you’ll find the row team on the water practicing, tables to seat at etc very nice and relaxing park Thank you Best Western Let me also thank the older young lady who also played a positive role in my stay; I met her when the first young lady took a short brake

If I could give them 10 stars, I would We stay in hotels that are comparable to SpringHill in Voorhees for dance competitions, this one is my favorite The rooms are clean, staff is friendly, breakfast is great (love the waffles), staff assisting with breakfast were extremely effective

Rooms were clean and fresh The shower had a feature that streams water at your back The rooms are well lit It is definitely kid friendly and is always packed will well mannered kids for tournaments and competitions I think the pool was closed but since COVID, that doesn’t surprise me Not a great picture and it is only part of the breakfast, but…

Faron Miller

A good experience overall Nice size room at a reasonable price Only two issues with our room: the shower head felt like it was going to fall off when adjusting the tilt and the mini fridge tipped forward when opening the door

One general issue with SpringHill Suites is the sliding bathroom doors don’t usually lock Love the included breakfast!

I was hoping to not write a negative review, but this was a horrible stayWe got here around 6pm, when we walked in our room was at 77f We set the thermostat to 68f and went to dinner

at 8pm it was still 77fCalled the front desk to see if someone could look at it, they sent someone and they suggested changing the temperature to 62fThis hasn’t changed anythingI called them to let them know at 9pm to see if we can switch rooms They said they would have to speak to management as other rooms of the are booked, but they would let us know I told them we have a little one that needs to get sleep soon, so please let us know ASAP40 mins later and still waitingcalled back and there apparently was a miscommunication and they thought the AC was fixed, so they never called backI explained again it wasn’t fixed, I have a wife who is 7 months pregnant and a 2 1/2 year old, so I need some kind of answerI was told they would check with their manager again (via text) and they would again let me knowAbout 15 minutes later the front desk called to say their manager said there is nothing they can do and the room just needs time to cool down#1 they don’t understand how HVAC systems work, it doesn’t take over 4 hours to cool down a room 1 degree and mind you at the time if writing this it’s 10:10pm and 70f outside#2 they clearly don’t care about their guestsAs Marriott owners we usually have a good experience, this however was notWe understand things happen, but the lack of communication and service is inexcusable

This hotel is very conveniently located It has great parking, but no valet available One can tell that this was a beautiful hotel at one point but NOTHING has been done to it and it is decaying

The bones of the hotel are beautiful, but the furniture is second rate, the decorations are scant and cheap, the carpets and curtains have seen better days While we were staying there, the fire alarm went off and it took them a long time to get the elevators running again The door was on our room would open without a key and the bathroom curtain was filthyThe hotel’s restaurant, Nineteen, is very nice, but only the inner circle is well decorated The rest of the tables look like fold awaysTo get into the hotel, one has to walk through a weird office lobby where at one point there must have been stores but now we wonky empty spacesIt is sad to see such a beautiful building go without maintenance or upkeep

Jenny Contenta

Very charming 200 year old hotel The rooms are very dark and not the cleanest I really disliked the beds, hard mattresses and now comforter on the bed

Meeting rooms are nice and large No coffee shop and no bar So much potential My lights kept coming on in my room the entire week stay Super annoying that they do not clean your room daily

Rachelle Marie

Priced high, expected it to be cleaner The room was large as we had a corner room, double bed Room furniture, carpet is all pretty aged and quite dirty

Shower drained slow and filled up the tub rather quick Hallways and carpets dirty feel We really wanted a more luxurious stay here as it was pictures and displayed so nice on the advertisements Restaurant not open for dining in, delivery fee and 5 dollar cold stale toast Parking was 40 bucks for one night! They DO NOT VALIDATE parking like some reviews say they do A bummer, but downtown near shopping

We stayed at this hotel with our children for a family trip to Philly The hotel was in a perfect location with a beautiful view The rooms were great and very clean

We were able to walk to the Aquarium, to dinner, and sit by the water We drove into Philly for the zoo, which was a quick 15 minute drive Perfect place to stay especially if you don’t want the craziness of staying in the city I would definitely recommend

Duane Mercer

If you are wanting a hotel that is stylish, away from the busyness of a city and has a view

THIS IS THE HOTEL TO CHOOSE It is ALSO priced fair as an added bonusWhen we arrived the staff were attentive to us They offered a self serve refreshment of fruit infused water which was refreshing after a 7 hour drive! The check in was quick There is a lot of parking behind the hotel in their lot which is accessed by the room key The room was beautiful! It was clean and stocked all the necessary items and with coffee and tea The washroom was clean and had a large shower that was like ours at home! The first night we stayed we were disappointed to be told there were only three restaurants in walking distance I should have researched better for this before taking the trip My wife and I decided to eat at the hotel We dined outside as the sun was setting The food did not disappoint nor did the sun set! I would highly recommend this during your stay After dinner, we walked around the waterfront and it was relaxing Needless to say, the hotel is in a great little areaWe journeyed into Philadelphia on day two As an added bonus, the hotel had fresh coffee, tea, and fruit available to take We didn’t want to take our SUV so we walked about 14 mins to city hall in Camden and took the Subway into Philly We had a short ride as we wanted off at the transfer areaThank you to all the staff (esp the front check in staff – the girl who gave us bottle water when there was none cold in the refreshment area, and also to the guy with the shadeshe made my wife and I smile each time I saw him)

Rosalyn Lee

The hotel by the river is a site for sore eyes! Especially after a long day of traveling and emotional upheaval Staff was great, especially James who was so attentive, though busy, and made you feel welcome! There is also a Thursday evening jazz show, 2 hrs, just long enough, that was very enjoyable The restaurant in the hotel has a nice variety of foods

The room was well appointed, even a Keurig coffee maker with coffee/tea samples My only complaint is not to expect engineering after a certain hour which can be troublesome but all in all, it was perfect! I’d come back, even if just for the jazz show and water view!!

Very helpful front desk and check in process Rooms were very clean and stylish Amazing water pressure in the shower and they also provide conditioner, shampoo, and body wash

There’s a cute Mexican restaurant and a cute rooftop bar to check as well I 100% recommend grabbing a coffee in the AM The coffee shop inside is so cute and the service is amazing! Lastly the coffee almost has this creaminess too it I can’t explain and I only had an American iced Definitely would stay again when in Philly!

Brett

Super location, great rates, excellent service Very comfortable bed, fun window seating (fun, not comfortable) w/nice city view, good bathroom Clean

Very thin walls and laminate floors but courteous neighbors overall Originally a “Pod” hotel but better as a Hilton In-house lobby cafe is interesting and decent enough that I would visit it on it’s own merits + it offers relatively generous Hilton elite breakfast benefit

Catherine

I booked for a long weekend in December I have no complaints The place was clean, the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating

Sure, the room was small, but I knew what I was booking when I looked the place up I only needed a bed and bathroom during my stay There was of course a TV as well as under the bed storage, a safe, and two drawers The bathroom was regular sized, had a very nice shower and there was a hair dryer as well This hotel is gorgeous and I enjoyed having a cafe inside the hotel I did not have any complaints during my stay Just make sure you do some research before booking any hotel, there’s no reason for people to be disappointed in what they didn’t get when none of it was advertised in the first place

This place is brand new and very nice The rooms look nice and are clean Staff was helpful and friendly

But if u need rest, find someplace else This place was built very much on the cheap You can hear normal conversations between rooms and if you’re not on the top floor get ready to hear every footstep of the people above you You’ll also get the enjoy the roar of the highway and every car that passes by in the parking lots At almost 300$ for the night you can do much better

Shereen Xavier

First of all this hotel is so concerned about saving their towels and cups over guest satisfaction We had one large towel and 3 floor mats when we first came in They don’t offer housekeeping even if you request it unless u stay there for over 5 days

When asked for fresh towels they made us bring the old towel to the lobby!!! Like what the hell? We def do not recommend this hotel, we had yo stay here because it was part of a wedding block They need a refresher course on hospitality since they are in the hotel business

Jerit George

I usually will write a negative review if a place deserves one but I enjoyed my stay here Went for a cousins wedding for 2 nights and the process was very smooth Nice rooms, not too expensive

Staff was great, Jocelyn at the front desk was very nice and even arranged for me to get some room swaps because the sleeper sofa was not available Also they had no problem with us enjoying some drinks on the lobby and making me some key cards when I misplaced them On top of that, my father forgot his breathing machine in the room and they boxed it up and shipped it out via FedEx after I sent them the label, thanks Larry! Thank you for a great weekend!

Nice hotel with affordable rates and great service The pool is somewhat of a nice perk in the city The lobby has a nice steakhouse and very lively bar

However, the bathrooms appear dated The valet folks are nice but take forever to get your car They don’t even let you call down for your car—so be ready to wait 45-60 min The only reason we would stay here again is because of the great hotel staff!

Brooke Morgan

Didn’t get to enjoy the pool since it was closed for the season (stayed in October), that would’ve made my visit! The room was nice, we had a corner, so we had a little view down the road instead of just an airshaft Bustling hotel, seemed like a lot of folks were visiting to enjoy a sporting event, but I was present for a wedding Like others have said, the valet was indeed very slow

I’m glad I didn’t need my vehicle except for at checkout Lots of the amenities had been suspended due to COVID, so I’m not sure I really got the full hotel experienceand I could’ve done with a larger bathroom for sure It got really humid in the room after showering All in all, I think I enjoyed it mostly because I had a wonderful companion and was there to celebrate something special The post-wedding brunch catered by the hotel was good I was given gluten free pancakes by special request!

Max Schuelke

Room service was lack luster The shower temperature wasn’t consistent, even if you didn’t touch the knob it could do from warm to scolding hot in just a few seconds Furthermore the pool had so much chlorine I almost threw up when I inhaled too much

The bed was fine but the pillow were to firm and my neck was so soreIt was in a good location, and the front desk person was incredibly nice and accommodatingUnder normal pricing this would be a 3/5 but the price is way to high for the less than adequate convenience and comfort Would not recommend compared too other hotels

The hotel staff was very pleasant! Everyone from the valet, bartender, front desk, and security were professional The room was clean and we enjoyed the water view from all of the windows We sat by the water and watched the ferry, paddle boats, jet skiers, and families

The location was an easy drive from the highway and great for walking to some local attractionsIt is a long walk form self parking to the lobby People with children, elderly, or a lot of luggage might need to use the valet

Amirah Duggan

Front desk agent Sadat was very surly As I have worked in the hospitality as well as customer service field for 6 years, I’m very familiar with the professional and disposition a front desk agent should withhold His demeanor was very unpleasant, cold, and withdrawn

As a diamond member I know that accommodations that can be made as well as the empathetic values Hilton prides themselves on This man, holds not one of these qualities He was very rude to me and the guest before and after me I ultimately ended up canceling both of my reservations and going to a more pleasant Hilton location due to his attitude, unpleasantness, and the way i was treated at the front desk There was an issue with a credit card that could’ve easily been switched and well as room booking issues But after my short interaction with him, i decided to cancel the entire stay This was supposed to be a treat to my family after a rough patch in our lives and many deaths due to Covid-19 But i am absolutely never coming back here and i pray that no one else comes to this location for the same reasons i did and receive the treatment i have The location is beautiful but the staff needs improvement

Jesse B

The hotel was nice, but it lacked many amenities I found out once arriving that the executive lounge only had tea and coffee The tea was just bags of Lipton and the coffee was from a gas station style dispenser that you put your cup under and pushed the button

I was not given bottles of water that I usually get when staying and there was no water in the lounge either The front desk also stated that the restaurant is closed until the weekends and the breakfast available is a grab and go style The next morning I went to the table containing breakfast items and was asked if I would like to put it on my room I excused myself and confirmed that they did indeed honor the breakfast credits for diamond members They said they did so I had them add on a cappuccino and a breakfast sandwich Upon checking out I found that credits had not been applied to my stay for the breakfast items purchased

From the perfect location in Old City to the amazing staff and beautiful decor this hotel is a complete class act I would definitely return here to stay Not only does the hotel host complimentary morning beverages (tea and coffee) but they also host an evening cocktail hour in the reservation parlor

The staff were all polite and professional from the curbside valet attendant (David) to the front desk I did not encounter any issues during my stay Check-in was a breeze If possible on short stays, opt in to not have your room turned over for a bill credit at the adjacent Red Owl restaurant Red Owl restaurant is located adjacent to the lobby at Kimpton Monaco The food is good as well as the service

Miles Bolland

The Monaco is an elegant and well appointed hotel, surrounded by the history of not only the city, but the country From Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, to being able to see the USS New Jersey on the river, the views are something elseThe common areas are beautiful, from the ship chandelier in the entrance way, to the furniture around the reception area

The rooms are comfortable and look amazing The showers are okay and while not stand out, they shouldn’t be marked down on them However in 2/3 rooms we stayed in we had baths, and one was fantastic while the bath/shower in the suite was incredibleOne thing I will say that was a nuisance, the TVs were basically the same as you’d have found in a hotel 15 years ago Cable and movies on demand A smart TV or any provided ability to use streaming services (whether through a wireless phone connection or signing into the service on the TV) would have been much better Likewise an odd area is that tea/coffee facilities for the room had to be requestedThe thing that absolutely stands out though was the staff Every single one of them was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to help Regardless of number of questions asked they were patient and accommodating From door staff, to cleaners, to reception, every single one I dealt with was a credit to the hotelWithout a doubt the Monaco would be my first stop were I in Philadelphia again, and it has also created an interest in the Kimpton brand as a whole

I’m so pleased we stayed here! Great location to everything Lobby is a bit on smaller end, but that’s typical for hotels in big cities Front staff are amazing! Thank you, kudos to Kevin! Rooms are also on smaller end, but design of the room is so well executed, great attention to details

I fell relieved when I didn’t have to deal with dirty rooms This place is amazing and I definitely recommend them Few minor glitches here and there, but I wouldn’t take any stars off!

Spent the weekend for our anniversary Told them in advance we were celebrating and when we checked in there was a bottle of wine and a plate of chocolate covered strawberries waiting The room was a decent size with a nice layout, and the jetted bathtub was large enough we could both sit comfortably while we soaked

Everyone I interacted with was lovely and kind We ordered room service for lunch Saturday because it was so hot outside, and it was delivered quickly with a smile All in all a fantastic experience and one I would repeat

E JOS

Hotel was phenomenal! We had an upgraded room – dual showers were amazing The restaurant was great: food, service, and ambiance The only nightmare was parking

The street is ridiculously busy and we were lucky enough to time our ins/ours perfectly The valet staff was friendly and helpful, so this is not to their fault I will gladly return again in the future

This hotel has large comfortable rooms Housekeeping was great! We really have no complaints The parking garage is not truly self-park since they actually need to park your car since they use an elevator instead of ramps but the parking garage attendants were very nice and answered any questions I had

It only took a few minutes for them to bring my car down when it was time to leave

Jefferey Holoman

Nice spacious room Plenty of clean towels and hot water The bed was so comfortable! The room service was attentive with waters and coffee

They also did a great job cleaning the room The hotel is right on the edge of all the shopping and great restaurants The fitness center is pretty nice and all the machines were in good working order I consider this hotel a great value for center city Philadelphia! I can’t find anything negative to say about it!

PLEASE READ: This is falsely advertised as a 4 star hotel Maybe they’re mixing up review ratings with actual hotel star ratings I’d give it 2 star at best

It’s just down the street from the Westin and it’s like comparing a motel to the Ritz I paid over $200 each for 2 signature deluxe rooms and was hopeful upon arrival but the parking was shady and a bit creepy The staff is nice and the lobby is nice but when I got into the tiny elevator that felt like it was going to fall at any minute, hope dwindled When I walked into my room I knew I’d been duped It was definitely a “lipstick on a pig” situation The rooms smelled musty and of mold, the wallpaper was peeling, the amount of dust and dirt is appalling The bathroom grout was dirty, the bathroom door didn’t lock and there was no fan/vent in the bathroom There were also black specks on the bedding When you check out they don’t ask you “how was your stay” because they must know the answer will be “extremely disappointing”Now, I’m not writing to bash the hotel, I am hopeful that the problems can be acknowledged and addressed but mostly that guests can know what they are getting before they decide I wish I could post photos here, but I hope my descriptions suffice
