I stayed in a presidential suite for 4 nights It was many things, but presidential was not one of them+ No full length mirrors in rooms or suites

+ Needs a new mattress I sunk into one side while the other side was lumpy+ Terrible lighting in both bathrooms for make up application+ No regular housekeeping service and nobody told me I had to ask If someone is checking in for 4 nights, they should be advised if they need to request housekeeping or supplies during their stay when they check in+ Carpets need cleaning in suite They’re disgusting+ Furniture torn and tattered – literally large rips in sofa and stains on the fabric furniture+ Thin walls – loud music from other rooms and floors can be heard through the walls and floors Outside walls thin, too – motorcycles, engines revving, yelling/arguments in the parking garage all times of night (Full transparency – the parking garage belongs to the mildly seedy casino next door, but happens to be along the entire back side of the hotel So if you’re room is not on the street side of the hotel, expect continuous disruptions from the clientele of the casino while they’re using the garage at night)+ Hot tub jets are broken+ Literally the only saving grace at this hotel is the staff They’re incredibly kind and quick to respond to needs It’s unfortunate that whomever is responsible higher than the every day staff to ensure the hotel is deep cleaned and well kept isn’t doing their part It’s not just a disservice to the guests, but the wonderful staff that work there A special shout out to Eva – she’s incredibly kind and helpful A beacon at the front desk The staff is why I gave 3 stars, instead of 2

Let me start out by saying I am a bonvoy Marriott member This was the absolute worst stay at ANY Marriott If you are in Carson City stay at the other suites, I believe it is the stay bridge suites on the other end of town

Dirty, fake cheap soap put in an old Paul Mitchell box, pool was dirty and then closed Really such a poor experience

My husband & I had a mini-moon in Carson City and stayed at the Hampton Inn! The stay from beginning to end was excellent! They upgraded our room for free since we were newlyweds! The suite was beautiful! The room accommodations were awesome The staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was delicious!!! I would definitely stay there again Only 1 minor complaint would be the satellite losing signal a lot on certain channels

I guess that’s to be expected though Overall, we had a great experience!

Cassandra Anderson

Alisha was an awesome night manager, every hotel should have an Alisha! She made us feel very welcomed, and was so knowledgeable about the area We were there looking for a home, and she pointed us in the perfect areas! This is a Hampton Inn, if you haven’t stayed at one before, it’s your typical decent business class hotel This 5-star rating is for the service and meeting expectations

This is not a luxury hotel, that is not what I’m reviewing, just to be clear It is a safe, clean, comfortable hotel room with feather pillows and a comfy and clean bed The rooms were clean, had a fridge and microwave (handy), and bathroom was also clean with basic amenities

Jennifer Corning

Don’t bother trying to check in on time, they won’t be ready, at least in our experience And the digital key didn’t work even after going to the front desk, so we still had to use the regular old key Service was fine, room a bit small for a suite, but everything was fine and in good repair and clean

Highlight at breakfast was the waffle maker I thought the spread was kind of limited and was expecting some fresh fruit options other than whole oranges, especially in June The location is pretty remote from the rest of town, which can be a good or bad thing

Room smelled bad, like wet dog Probably because the hotel allows pets Very noisy loud wind sounds blowing in from outside from the AC/heat unit even when we turned it off

This is on me but I forgot my toothbrush and you have to purchase one, which was surprising since I’ve never been to a hotel that didn’t have these They have a “store” and charge extra for things other hotels of the same price range provide No gym, breakfast is extra $$ No lotion Only one bar of soap (usually there’s one for the sink and one for shower) Very VERY basic hotel and was expensive for what you get ($400+ for two nights, 1 queen bed room, maybe bc Memorial Day weekend) Bed is not bad but still not worth it My first and last time at a My Place Hotel Wish I had booked at the holiday inn express just down the road

Lhynnix

Great location for our Lake Tahoe trip It was only 30 mins away from Lake Tahoe Price range affordable

Room was very clean Comfortable bed I like the kitchen area (perfect for more than 2 days stay in the hotel) They accommodated us for our late check in Friendly staffs Also, free coffee and teaDid not use the room service such as breakfast in bed deal That would be perfect for people who have more leisure timeDefinitely, recommend the My Place Hotel to family and friends

This place has so much potential, but the owners don’t do anything with it It’s competent silent inside, no music or customers or anything They keep a bunch of useless junk all over that makes it look like a 1990s garage sale

If you ask for a drink, the bartenders act like you’re bugging them Also, everything is so dirtyAnd the hotel is horrible too The mattresses must be original from 1889 Nothing is ever kept up or repaired

Mark Silberling

Very cool old hotel with that old western charm However, when they say the walls are paper thin, they’re serious Unfortunately we had people 2 rooms down that partied obnoxiously 2 of our 3 nights

There is no one on site to enforce their quiet policy Also, the do not disturb placard on the door apparently does not apply to housekeeping Enjoyed the adventure but wouldn’t stay again

Qihua M

It was quite entertaining to check out the silver queen dress made of hundreds of silver dollars, and Mark Twin used to stay there The hotel has a private chapel for local weddings that my local friend told me she had friends getting married there There are lots of local patrons and visitors coming in and out to see the Silver Queen dress, I guess it is a must-see attraction in the Silver Ghost Town in the Silver State!!! Cheers! 😊😊🙏🙏

The Tahoe House Hotel exceeded out expectations in every way The service was impeccable! The owners and staff went out of their way to anticipate our needs and accommodate our requests The breakfast was punctual and plentiful with a wide variety of choices and the afternoon refreshments were a hit with the kids

The hotel is spacious, squeaky clean and picturesque The rooms are charming with high ceilings, comfortable beds, and boutique toiletries Their impressive attention to detail was a consistent theme throughout our stay We enjoyed coffee in the private garden and craft cocktails on the balcony overlooking the main drag

If you are ever in Virginia City and looking for a place to lay your head at night, the Tahoe House Hotel is it!Our experience with the Tahoe House Hotel was nothing short of spectacular! Paul made us feel welcome from the moment we booked our room while we were still 75 hours from our destinationThe first night we stayed in one of their balcony rooms which faces the main thoroughfare

We were shown how to work the doors and gigantic metal shuttersWe loved it so much we decided to see if they had any rooms available for a second night Luckily there were 2 available and yet again, Paul was amazing in his hospitality and showed us the two available We decided to stay in an interior room and once again we were not disappointedBreakfast in the morning is continental but not your typical run of the mill continental junk food We had our choice of fresh fruit, fresh hard boiled eggs, pastries, yogurts, juices, coffees and teas You know, the kind of small morning treats that you might find at great grandma’s house when she has all of her grand babies homeWe will definitely be staying here again!Thank you guys for a wonderful weekend getaway!

David Meyer

This is an awesome place Everything about it is top notch Located in a very old building, the rooms have been decorated with first class style and imagination

Paul is a host par excellence Our room and many of the others had a balcony that overlooks the main street of Virginia City The lobby/bar is a truly pleasant place to enjoy a drink or partake of the great continental breakfastDon’t miss out if you are headed to Virginia City

Our stay thus far has been good The staff is phenomenal Jody really does a wonderful job of making people feel at home

She goes out of her way to prepare food and engage with the guests She offered great suggestions regarding fun things to do locally and really adds a personal touch to the evening social All of the staff works diligently to make sure this location presents at its best: from the on site engineer that is constantly touching up the paint or checking the water quality in the pool/spa to the breakfast crew that makes sure foods are replenished We had a few issues regarding loud noises coming from the vent in the bathroom and phones that sis not work in our room Other than this, everything has wonderful at this location

Subhayu Chakravorty

Pretty nice place to stay along with the staff The included breakfast is great as well The receptionist was very helpful

We were delighted with the cleanliness and organized suits The jacuzzi was awesome during a cold winter nightThe bookings were non refundable and that was a shame since we had two people bailing Other than that it was a great stay and will definitely come visit this place again

Julia Hawkins

Management was extremely helpful checking us in and answering our questions We were in a two bedroom suite and it was extremely clean and very comfortable Had everything we needed and it was beautiful! The hotel is only a year old so everything is up to date and brand new

Mattresses could be a little softer but it wasn’t too bad They have a pool, jacuzzi with a nice lounging area with fire pits Easy drive into Reno when staying in Reno isn’t an option

I am going to take the time to write this review for future travelers for the area I want to begin by saying how AMAZING this lodge is I stayed in a queen bedroom woody cabin that is within walking distance to the lake

They have a hot tub and gave out complimentary s’mores on our first night Our parking space is literally right outside the cabin so it’s super convenient for those who do not like walking long distancesThey provided a soft, fuzzy blanket in our room, a cute dining table for breakfast/lunch/dinner, the whole aesthetic is SO cute, 10/10 It is on the North part of the Lake and in my opinion, the best part of the lake is the north side and the entire right hand side of the lake The drive near emerald bay is not for people afraid of heights Everything you need is within 1 mile of you—store, gas, beach access & water rentals, and restaurants & a gift shopsThis place is best if you are looking for a quiet, low key place with a cabin feel I suggest the younger crowds/party people stay in South Lake Tahoe for those kinds of experiences If you are older or just really enjoy peace and quiet, this is your spot The front desk gentlemen were so accommodating for us and really were personable, amazing people Came all the way from South Carolina, so their hospitality was A+! Can’t wait to come back here 10/10 experience 💙✨🙏

Ben Matthews

Beautifully cared for lodge – that has a wonderful personal feel We stayed in a one bedroom cabin, which was perfect for a family of four Rooms were clean, well equipped, and felt homey

We didn’t use the kitchen, but it looked like it had everything you’d need Heated pool was nice, and you can get s’mores kits from reception to roast on the fire They also have beach chairs, tubes, and coolers to borrow The beach is a short 3-4 minutes walk away

Giving one star is generous I hardly ever write reviews but this place is too awful not to This hotel is completely overpriced

The “concierge” service is absolutely terrible They are understaffed and all the employees seem to be fairly newThe power actually went out while I was here and my entire family and I (mind you, we have a baby and a stroller) had to walk up 6 flights of stairs because they couldn’t get the elevator to work The hotel is run by a bunch of 20 year olds who don’t have proper management training Don’t waste your time and DEFINITELY do not waste your money The food was so overpriced and was actually so bad There’s no other way to describe it It was maybe just a step up from microwave food Not to mention, half of the restaurants/amenities advertised on the site are closedOh and to top it all off, Marriott is using false advertising on the photos of the room The room we booked looked huge + had floor to ceiling windows (which is why we booked this place in the first place) and when we got here, the room was completely different When we bought it up to management, they just told us they had no other rooms and gave us some pity tray of macaroons and champagneThis hotel is a joke for what you pay Like I said, don’t waste your money

What a difference 6 months makes We spent New Years here and had an awful experience and swore we would not be back Prior to New Years we typically made day trips to the resort for food and drinks so we’re taken back by our experience when staying a few nights during New Years

However, we decided to give the Ritz another try this weekend to end our week long vacation in Las Vegas All I can say is, WOW!! Now this was the experience I expected from the Ritz!! I don’t know if it’s new management, better trained staff, or the beautiful weather…but our stay was excellent The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive Can’t wait to return

Erika Gardner

If you want a place to relax, unwind and connect with nature, this is the place for youThe resort is absolutely beautiful! I haven’t had the opportunity to stay there in the winter, but the summertime is gorgeous! The service is outstanding, the staff is super friendly, and the best part is that the hotel is pet friendly! The club lounge is a great place to have breakfast; Gus was so helpful; he gave us a lot of great information about what to do in the area#petfriendly#relax#unwind

As a hotel, I think the place is mis-advertised The photos are generous

the hotel rooms do not look like cabins and felt quite stuffy The service wasn’t great since of course, this is a timeshare and not a hotel I was expecting a lot more from the marketing and was quite disappointed The hot springs are not included and actually cost $55 per person even if you’re staying here! Far away from everything and inconvenient as well not to mention this place is not quiet as other guests have mentioned I heard kids playing in the room next door loudly and clearly through a locked door in the room

Stayed in 2101 in the man building starting with the positive: Hotel is setup with Full kitchens and bedrooms and were well appointed and clean, The issue is that it seems a bit tired The bathroom shower had crack in the pan

(Not sure where the water was going) The Bathroom faucet required two hands to turn the water on and the sink was cracked as well The biggest issue was the air conditioner The place is over the mountain from Lake Tahoe and is a good 10 degrees hotter than Tahoe The AC had a hard time to keep up the whole time we were there and it just gave up completely, 2 days into our stay Their solution was to give out Fans, instead of really fixing the AC units We were with a large group and several people staying in the same building had the same AC problem If they want to book rooms in the summer, they need to invest in new AC units

MD W

The rooms were old and dingy for the price they charge But

the location was beautiful, and the local restaurants were all amazing and yummy, also, being able to conveniently walk to go sledding or skiing is always a plus especially while toting the kids around The staff was kind, they just sorely need to upgrade their rooms and clean it up more often We went during the January winter of 2021, so I’m sure covid effected this place a lot

Dorian G

Nicely located, tree top adventure is really cool and good food for Dinner However, breakfast was not good, rooms have not been renovated since some time, outside restaurant didn’t had French fries for 3 days, you pay 10 USD for a Cappuccino and the service at the front desk is good for checking you in but do not ask any questions (especially not if the can send someone to clean the room, they will never show up)

kferoldi

Beautiful location but the rooms were old and dirty Our kids walked around the room barefoot and within just a few minutes their feet were Black If you walked around in socks – your socks turned black too

The carpets were absolutely disgusting Besides that- the location is great We were there with Family We completely understand that other guests are likely tracking dirt in However, We felt our experience needed to be addressed

We had such a great stay at the Cottage Inn, it’s worth sharing The owner Kelly and the manger Austin went above and beyond to make are whole group more than happy! The cottages were great and the customer service was more than a 5 Star! They made you feel at home Any concerns or special requests were addressed and taken care of immediately

The whole staff was top notch! I would not hesitate to recommend them for a special occasion or just wanting to get away The location was amazing, so close to the lake Each cottage has its own theme and was very clean and accommodating Kelly and Austin are like family to all of us now We will definitely go back and stay there! We give them 5 Stars ! Good old fashion service! Can’t wait to go back! 😊

Very friendly and helpful staff along with an extremely beautiful view of the lake The cabin was warm and cozy with unique artwork on the walls The fireplace kept us warm throughout the night and we got some amazing sleep! Great trails right next to the cabin that takes you miles around the lake for a good bike ride or run

This is one of my favorite spots to stay in Tahoe

So we ended up not getting a discount we should have gotten with the membership Also the front desk woman was slow to acknowledge us and wasn’t friendly that nightWe came back again a week later and they still didn’t have our membership in their systemWe tried booking online but it wouldn’t let us and we have dogs anyway and didn’t have any option for pet roomsWe got to the hotel and they gave us the wrong room with one bed Thankfully the staff that night was very helpful and apologetic and found us a different room The shampoo was totally out however and the shower made a horrible squeaking noise I thought holiday inn was better than the experience we were havingThe manager there on the second stay was very helpful and nice She said she would look into getting us the membership discount that we should have gotten both nights The staff seems to be nice they just don’t have a lot to work with They are just confused and can’t get their stuff to work right

People are nice but employees lack training nor have all the resources they need to provide guests a top notch experience Room was not clean (Reading prior reviews

promises to be better have not been kept over this last year) Managers are not checking the work Don’t take hot showers here because it will set off the in-room fire alarm After terrifying my children, I was refunded my pet deposit Would not recommend staying here if you don’t have to Owners need to put out the expense needed to fix the hotel before more business is lost

Run down, dated property in a weird location Room was carpeted, hard to tell whether that gets cleaned regularly due to the “grey-brown” tones A/C worked but needed cleaning

Blinds were functional Bathroom desperately in need of repair and updating – crusty is a good word to describe what to expect here Room was large and cavernous and pretty dark unless every light was on Furnishings were less than comfortable Bed was too soft and all pillows were soft – you normally get both soft and firm to choose from Expect body and neck aches if this isn’t your preference Closet was small and weird It wasn’t usable for me Dollar Store ironing board was useless This was the second property with a broken back entry door to the hallway, propped open with a rock At least it was fixed during my stay With security measures on high alert these days, one would think this would be a priority Free breakfast is perfect for travelers who lack tastebuds All hot items were gone or put away by 9am Coffee was decent, but I NEVER trust the cleanliness of in-room coffee makers Someone on the first floor kept cooking fish in their room which is disgusting behavior and it settled in the hallways for at least a full day Walls and floors are very thin Guests with unruly children can be heard stomping about up above Good luck getting a good night’s sleep if you stay here At up to $299 a night on some nights, plus taxes and fees, it is laughable I wouldn’t choose this property ever again
