This place is just gorgeous My husband and I stayed here for a business trip with his job They were so accommodating to us and our one year old daughter

The place was clean and very historic And the food! Wow Lemon fritters, grapefruit juice, veggie omelets, coffee, blueberry oatmeal with shivered almond All made from scratch and the choice of the chef! This was an all around great experience You gentleman are doing a great job to make your guests feel welcomed!

We were lucky enough to spend a night at the Carrier House on Memorial Day weekend, and while our initial stay was by chance, we will most certainly be back one day! It is a GORGEOUS property and the love and care put into it by the owners is readily apparent It’s furnished and decorated with historically appropriate items of all sorts (the lamps and chairs are amazing!), but with a modern and incredibly comfortable bed We had an amazing breakfast and they were so welcoming and patient of our cute but stubborn and very loud 3

5 year old I highly recommend a stay here!!

My husband and I stayed at the Carrier House with friends of our over Halloween weekend (2021) One of the innkeepers, Jim, warmly greeted us at the door, while the other, Russell, was standing out at the curb handing out Halloween candy to a long line of cars that stretched for a few miles (he did this for at least 2 hours, but probably longer) Jim showed us to our room and afterwards took us on a little tour of the house, sharing some of its history

We then sat on the lovely porch for awhile enjoying some wine and the beauty of the season This house is absolutely gorgeous Our room was very comfortable and everything was really clean I often don’t like staying at hotels or inns because they are usually not as clean as I like them, but this one was sparkling!!! Jim and Russell are warm and hospitable individuals and we really enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them a little Breakfast was wonderful! We are planning another visit there in about a month, and I can’t wait! If you stay here you will not be disappointed!

We stayed three nights in the large Rm 6 “apartment” and loved it Location was convenient for dining and our travels Room was comfortable, spacious, clean and fun with quirky historical details

Separate entrance was handy Breakfasts were on-time even when we requested time adjustment They were hearty, creative and delicious Access to cold drinks, snacks and stunning great room during the day allowed us to get our computer tasks done in style We’ll be back!

We stayed over the Christmas holiday (4 nights) and couldn’t have enjoyed it more! Never having been to the area, we found the staff to be helpful in finding things to do The inn was decorated to celebrate the season, and our room was comfortable and well decorated Everything right down to the fluffy towels were perfect! We had room 1, right off the main living space

A fireplace and king size bed made it heavenly The use of an old walk in safe was this girls dream closet I could have brought my entire wardrobe and still had room to go shopping! The oversized bathroom with jacuzzi tub was used nightly for a ‘swim’ The breakfast served by the most wonderful chef, Donna, was enjoyed by not just us… But all the guests at the resort We found everyone staying while we were there to be a delight and we made some new friends It truly was a wonderful stay and would encourage anyone to go and make this your next home away from home next time you are in Notth Carolina!

What a special gem! We had a wonderful stay at the Firehouse Inn Beautiful space, quiet location & amazing staff I could write an entire review just on the breakfast! Donna is an excellent chef & made us feel like family

Thanks for the recipes! Our meatballs & bacon came out perfectly 🤗 The Firehouse Inn is a must stay! We can’t wait to return!

At arrival after checking in with a kiosk, we were given a room that was apparently a storage room Multiple beds and furniture stored in the room So then after getting another room and talking to a real person our room was very hot and never cooled off

While taking the kids to pool there was a small bag of what looked to be marijuana laying by the pool Which my kids could have easily gotten There was people yelling in parking lot There was some kind of brownish red stuff smeared on the bathroom door The bath tub drained very slow There was horrible stains in carpet Just a horrible place and atmosphere especially for kids We checked out 3 hours after checking in and they refused to refund stay Would not recommend this place to anyone!!!

Shelby Copeland

The hotel was very dirty They need to hire a new cleaning crew Dirty carpets, doors and walls

Thank God there were no bugs Newly renovated signs in the office but that was definitely false advertising I stayed in 2018 when the hotel was new I stayed again in March 2021… totally different experience! Will not be going back or recommending this Forest City location!

Doc Greybeard

These listed pictures are not representative to the property today It’s not awful but has some age on it I would recommend looking elsewhere especially of you are staying more than a nights sleep

Located near many restaurants and shopping makes it a little more attractive but owners have done little to keep the property updated since built

If you’re looking for a simple experience Clean room, breakfast served on time then this is the place for you As of front desk service

You may want to deadbolt the lock Last night, there was a miscommunication issue with the last customer who stayed in the room Instead of the front clerk calling or comforting they had checked the tenants out of their room, I was woken up with a light in my face accused of stealing and staying in Their room Luckily everything was worked out between us peacefully But if any mishaps or recklessness went down, that would have been a safety issue on my behalf Just throwing it out there The laziness on people security, comfort, and peace is a high concern Watch your backs here or you’ll be having an unexpected party at 12:00am

Great value for money: spacious, clean rooms, comfy beds, fluffy towels: all things you can expect from HIE (but not always offered) nothing more you could want! This place had it all!!Nice add-on: a cosy little outside backyard surrounded by greens, to have your breakfast (fully automated pancake machine!!) and/or afternoon drink!!Just not full 5 stars if they would add some (sliced) fruit for breakfast (now only not completely fresh apple and banana available)

That would have topped it off For the rest: just go there!! One of the best HIE experiences ever!!
