I wanted to love it because we stayed at another Pacifica property before, and it was a great experience all around, but I was left unimpressed by this property A few great things were location, the beds, the staff, but a few bad things were the noise from the traffic and not so charming view of the busy intersection, the extra charge for parking when they have a huge garage, the pool and spa location in the property, the snack bar was closed, no room service during the 3 night stay because of COVID? Not that I necessarily wanted it, but I’ve stayed at several other properties in the last 2 years, and I do not remember them canceling the room cleaning offering That said, the housekeeper was in the hallway all through the day, making plenty of noise and leaving her cart by our door a few times

Oh yeah, overnight and early morning, the traffic noise is less, but I could hear footsteps from the room above at those times to make up for itIt’s very likely that in a room in a higher level with courtyard view (they may even be able to see the ocean in the higher level) would be a much better experience but unlike many other properties where the difference in view is slight and worth a price premium, here the difference is so radical, I think it may be like staying at a different property (view and noise difference)Bottom line, I doubt I will ever stay in this property again with a room facing the street if I had known, I would have paid extra here it is worth Also 4 months ago we stayed at a property one mile north in the same street and the experience was far superior Great breakfast included The rate difference was minimal but we figured we’d try this one next time we’re going back to the other one

First and foremost Diamond & Benedict we’re excellent on every aspect regarding customer service Friendly, welcoming and attentive to their guests needs The rooms are clean

Location is great The only thing that could use some TLC is the hallway carpet, they were a little dingy and could use a good cleaningOther than that the place and staff were excellent!Thank you!

I’ll keep it short I think this hotel has a lot of potential and I would love to come back but there are a few things that they would need to change before I would consider another stayI’ll start with the pros- great views of the ocean from the balcony, short walk to the beach, across the street from a grocery store, friendly staff, nice patio with furniture and games

The cons- cockroach in our room, the most uncomfortable couch I’ve ever sat on, poor lighting in the room, and generally a dated feel to the room and building (minus the lounge area and patio, they were quite nice) I’ll also mention that many modern hotels have a desk and chair for business travelers Unfortunately, we did not have a desk or a chair in our room My wife was working remotely for a portion of our stay and it was not a comfortable space for workIt seems as if they started renovating an older hotel but for whatever reason stopped half way through If they fully updated it and improved on the things mentioned above, it would a really nice place that I would love to return to

We arrived very early, extremely tired after a night flight The staff was wonderful and told us to get some breakfast at their place and took care off all of our luggage After that we went to the beach with beach chair and bath towels from the hotel

They gave us an early access to the room and the luggage was already taken care ofThe room was a little bit smaller than it looks like on the pictures but the view was fantastic Big bathroom The bed was amazing but the sofa bed was terrible to sleep on for our teenagers The madras was thin and there was always some noise when mowing around during the nightAs this was pretty expensive nights compared to other hotel this period, we was surprised that they didn’t make the sofa bed before night time We took some pillows from our bed to the sofa bedThe most sad part is that the bathroom was not clean when we checked in On the floor under the sink there was a lot of red something and was easy to spotI told the reception and they said they would take care of it Later that evening they gave us extra new towels, but the floor was still the same… I told they about this the next morning and had the same answer as they day before The day went by and no one had cleaned the bathroom The next day I had to go look for the cleaner’s my self All the staff on the hotel was super nice and friendly A big plus

Our stay has been wonderful for the past few yearsThe hotel is in a great location and the staff has always been wonderfulMy family has been to this location for at least 3 years now

Every year, as we leave the premises we have scheduled our vacation for the next year It’s always the same time to celebrate a birthday This year we even spent 2 more days than our usual To my dismay, tonight’s evening manager tells me to my face that there is really nothing special about my family coming every year It is “supply and demand” and we are not any different from any other customer!! Really???I was trying to buy book our next year’s celebration as she was telling me thisI told her that I was extremely appalled! Is this what her company really expects of her??If that is the case, there shouldn’t be any customer loyalty to the very people that we believed had our interests always in their priority? My family is extremely disappointed 🙁

My Family and I (party of 9) booked 2 adjacent rooms together for the 4th of July weekend and we had an amazing experience! The staff was wonderful, great to talk to, easy to request items, and the hotel and rooms were clean The room was larger than standard, with a king bed and a foldout couch plus a kitchenette with a cooktop and refrigerator and microwave Plenty of space for storing all the luggage plus beach items

The Hotel provided beach towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, and kids sand toys, all complimentary! This is our new home away from home, definitely recommended to all!

Location, Location, LocationYou can’t beat the location and that’s why it got as many stars as it didUnfortunately, most other parts of the hotel felt like they were cutting corners

When you go to rent a towel, they inform you that if you don’t return it, you have to pay $25 per towel When they give you the keys (physical keys), they inform you that it’s $125 to replace if lost, the shampoo and conditioner were cheap, they didn’t clean our room once in 4 days, and the parking was around $30 per day The main bed was a queen and frankly, was not that comfortable There was a kitchen but the pots and pans were a total of about 4 and it was definitely hit or miss if they had the right pansAgain, the location was excellent but it felt like they just bank on that and don’t do anything else beyond emphasize their locationIf you’re looking for a beach hotel, this one fits the bill If you’re looking to go to Los Angeles and you want a magical experience, go to the Magic Castle, you won’t be disappointed!

Melissa Hill

There is dried blood on the walls throughout the room The guy at the front desk apologized and came to clean (and honestly he has been very nice and sympathetic), but just not feeling comfortable For almost $250/night this is unacceptable – unsanitary room conditions and a lack of concern from the general manager about this and the inconvenience to his guest

Sara

Paid $500 for one night in a “room with a partial Seaview” There was absolutely no sea view The hotel management acknowledged there was no view from our room and seemed not to care at all that they had charged us for a room that was falsely advertised

Too bad- this used to be a great hotel In addition to the false advertising, rooms seriously in need of being renovated Blinds broken, low quality

We found this gem of a place because our flight got cancelled at LAX at 11 pm and Bluestem was the only hotel that had open spots that night We were lucky enough to snatch their last room Upon arrival the check in was super fast and easy and we were offered complementary snacks and drinks to help cheer us up!The place is lovely, very artistic ambiance and atmosphere

There is a terrace that is accessible to guests 24/7 which is warmed up by fire and cooled down by a beautiful water fountain during the dayThe rooms were clean and very cozy They have everything you need The only thing that could use a little improvement is the wifi speed The rooms have coffee/tea and you have access to a microwave in the lobbyLast but not the least, the staff were wonderful Can’t say enough about how kind and accommodating they were I highly recommend this place to everyone

Mikayla Cooley

Great hotel for the price Customer service was amazing Parking was a bit hard on weekends but we always figured it out

The stalls are just super tiny The rooms were very clean My socks and feet did get dirty walking around the room so I recommend them mopping daily or for the hotel to leave swifter sweepers in the rooms for guests Definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to stay somewhere clean and safe and not pay a fortune

Heather Benedict

A boutique hotel with exceptional service, comfortable and clean rooms, free parking, free coffee, and exceptionally cordial and accommodating staff Comfortable, professional, 5 stars! This review comes from a former Four Seasons Hotel front desk agent, would say you get a good bang for your buck here, 5 star service for a fraction of the price!

Just got back from spending a week in Hermosa Our 3rd time out there, first at the Hampton Great hotel, great location

Anthony at the desk was very helpful and made our stay enjoyable Actually all the staff were friendly and helpful Requested an ocean view roomdid not disappoint! Very clean and comfortable Next time we come out there definitely will be staying at the Hampton

Michael DeGroot

Decent enough hotel Located in a great spot to walk for food or the beachBreakfast was fine just not a lot of selection compared to some others I’ve had

Our room had a balcony area, but was in a tight spot between buildings so no real view there We did get early check-in

Daniel Torres

Location is within walking distance of beach, but hotel is really not up to Hampton Inn standards Building is old, parking lot is small, and rooms are “spartan” in furnishings and decor No carpet in room and everything is dated in appearance

Towels were damp which may be result of housekeeping staff overloading dryers so that nothing tumbles and dries as it should Rooms could be cleaner too Staff is friendly, however

Had a big family reunion at the hotel! They were very accommodating with the family, with all of the check ins and the use of the Catalina room for games and activitiesOur specific room had a lovely view of the ocean The sliding glass door to our room had great noise canceling as well

We were able to hear live music from a local car show with it open and then close it to take a nap Great room, clean and functional, no issues!

Christina

Checking in for our reservation was fast and the hotel is walking distance to the pier The hotel is decorated nicely There is a bar in the middle of the lobby as well as a gift shop

My room had a decent view of the ocean and was a nice size The bed soft and comfy For one night the room was about $250, parking $32 and deposit $100

Sea & Bill Peterson

This Sonesta is outstanding The staff were wonderful, especially Angel Luis, the manager, was amazing

The only downside is the parking situation The fees are high and the automated system was not functioning People playing their personal music by the pool was irritating; especially the young kids and their heavy metal sounds We had to close our doors and go inside, despite having notified the front desk It would have been handy to have a restaurant on site

This hotel was AMAZING!!! The views of the ocean, the patio, the room decor, the cleanliness, the staff were so kind and accommodating and the location is my personal favorite so location deserves 100 starsReasons I gave it a 4 The biggest being that my neighbors made nonstop noise from about 9p to 4a that sounded like someone dropping a bowling ball every few minutes

In between the horrendous thunderous noise was chalkboard screeching noise I lost sleep completely Also the parking is terribly tiny, the room is a bit small and there was construction right at the propertyThat said, I’ll be booking my return to this location soon This is still my favorite because the vibe was so free and bright Hopefully neighbors and construction won’t be an issue I’ll be happy to park in the tiny spaces and will deal with a smaller than expected room size because everything else about it was above my expectations I’ll see you all soon!!!!

Hannah Emfon

I really hate to give this review as I’m not a complainer at all but the staff give me no alternative Communication with the hotel was awful I asked before arrival via email what the hotel could offer outside of the standard packages for my wife’s birthday after chasing on numerous occasions with no reply I finally got a standard response of the packages offered on the website to which I declined (they weren’t to her liking) upon arrival I was told there were items in the room to celebrate (these weren’t agreed) when advised I hadn’t agreed to anything they said leave them to one side and we will refund you

We did this and I have since requested the refund 3 times via email (I can’t call as we are in the UK) and have received no response Service and communication is poor which is unfortunate for such a beautiful hotel Management clearly do not care about their standard of service!

Elisa A

Last week was my 2nd stay at the Sea Sprite & it was amazing!! A young guy with glasses brought our luggage all the way to the 3rd floor when he didn’t have to, I didn’t get his name but he was really great Anne checked us in again & was so pleasant My plans in LA are all over & can be far from the hotel but I don’t mind it because of the view & the amazing service they provide

I plan on staying here for all future trips to LA Thank you to all of the staff & the little guy with glasses!

Room was larger than expected and the beds were comfortable it’s an older property but so close to EVERYTHING!! highly recommend Ocean Cafe (40’s diner) had the lemon ricotta pancakes that were on the special Y

U M!!! Mich better than the muffin coffee and yogurt the hotel offers Hot tub was great but it was a little dirty and the sign regarding diarrhea wasn’t very comforting either We will be back

The hotel is not new, but it is well maintained, and clean The rooms are nice and spacious, and some have small balconies that you can see the ocean Refrigerator in the room, and kurig coffee maker, but if you want use of the hotels single microwave, you have to go to the lobby ( weird )

They have a small exercise room, but the treadmill and bike were both out of order, so it is basically a rack of dumbbells They offer breakfast, but are still using COVID as a excuse to get out of serving it It’s an ok place to stay, but it’s just a room at this point No extras It was $140 a night, and not far from the water 20-30 minute walk, or a 3 minute car ride Honestly, it’s about 3 1/2 stars (Could have been higher, but no breakfast, no microwave in room, and the exercise equipment broken)

darren s

Curtains were torn up, room smelled of mildew and the staff was less than “worst service ever” Totally ruined the Quality Inn name for us and will never use this hotel line again after our experience here, despite having been loyal guests for years Spend double and go down the street to anywhere else or you’ll be regretting your whole vacation like it did to ours

Then they wanted to charge a surprise parking fee for using their facility while we were paying guest And it doesn’t end there They kept our deposit claiming a smoking fee when we never smoked on the property at all They are only interested in stealing your money here, from check-in to check-out

The Belamar has been our favorite hotel before being apart of Hilton and only became better after, as we are Hilton Honors Members currently The location itself is on the edge of a residential and commercial area in Manhattan Beach Ca As soon as you pull into the driveway you get a sense of a calmer, cozier era

Walking into the lobby you are welcomed by an eclectic theme and smiling faces From the record collection inside the door, to the open lobby surrounded by windows and the white stone floors it is truly an experience You feel as if Rock Hudson or Audrey Hepburn may stroll by at any moment The standard rooms are clean and neat with a record player at the ready The room in minimally furnished with plenty of artistic expression on the walls The large Television can break the magic but is a must for any weary traveler to relax with The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the Bar/Restaurant is now open with plenty of treats for any pallet There is just something about this location that has brought us back every chance we get

Brandon Frandsen

Beautiful southern California inspired hotel, room was well furnished, light and comfortable, I was asked to get lots of work done without getting distracted or uncomfortable The record player in my room was a unique experience enhancing touch Balcony was great when it was warm out

It is off a busy road so I heard of people having complaints about noise but I didn’t notice it from my room

We had a nice stay at this hotel and it was a positive experience overall We arrived a little bit early, around 1:30pm and we pre-checked in so that once our room was ready we could head up We were excited to try the restaurant but it closes and every customer must be out by 2pm

Seems a strange time to close down when you’re most likely to have guests waiting around for their rooms, interested in having drinks and food while they wait This was very inconvenient and one reason for a loss of a star The room was clean and pleasant with a lovely balcony Large shower with a tub inside, great bathroom with bidet and heated toilet seat Room was tidy, although desk chair was worn, with parts of the fabric missing It was fine I also took off a star for the exercise room They have one treadmill, one elliptical, one bicycle, and a couple of weight machines No free weights at all, not a single one There is one single mat to be used and that’s it I guess the guests here don’t tend to exercise much This was a disappointment for me, as I counted on at least a couple of free weights Parking was easy and overall we did enjoy our stay They only clean every other day, so if you’re staying for two nights like we did, you will not have your room cleaned during your stay

M Z

I’m very impressed by the tidiness of the facility and the hospitality of the staff here The room was sparkling clean and made me feel extremely COVID-safe I really loved the oversized shower tube and the super comfy bed

In addition, the restaurant affiliated with the hotel has very high quality food I loved the unagi don I ordered Make sure you order ahead of time because they can be busy during dinner rush hours!

Andrew “Andy” Davis

This is a gem of a hotel located near Torrance with its own parking lot and extended lot for events The entrance is quite striking with blossom trees and very well kept entrance in keeping with the Japanese style The lobby sports a simple entrance with hotel lobby and check-in on the right and the Japanese restaurant directly opposite the entrance

There is a stunning fire built into the wall between the lobby and the bar in the restaurant also Rooms are a good sized and very well equipped King size bed is very comfortable and the room has a good tv with many channels to keep everyone happy Each room has a balcony with full height windows that can slide open to allow fresh air to enter There is a safe and a jewelry store and the room also comes equipped with tea and coffee and a coffee machine along with an iHome music player A working table with plugs for notebook and computer connectivity adjoins the window area making for a relaxing place to work The bathroom is well equipped with a toilet and bidet and a deep Japanese style bath for relaxing and a wet room shower AVeda shampoo and conditioners and bath salts are provided and available on request The hotel prides itself on its covid policy with each room being cleaned to a very high standard which gives confidence to guests Staying here is nice, it’s quiet so easy to work or relax There are antibacterial dispensers located in the elevators and a snack bar downstairs along with an ATM I highly recommend this hotel Great service, wonderful staff, super clean and totally in keeping with Japanese style with an awesome on-site Japanese restaurant on the ground floor

Stayed a week on Family vacationIn a pretty good location, fairly close to several attractions/entertainment options Beautiful beach within 8min of hotel; Manhattan Beach/Pier (Less busy than Santa Monica)Good staff service, with good breakfast, and reception food n beverage options

The Hotel does a decent job keeping the facility and rooms clean Just needs to be cleaned more frequently, if possible, and a little more thoroughlyOverall, a pretty satisfactory stay for the week!!!

Hai Parnes

The hotel located on the 405 But you don’t hear nothing They’re very kind clean, and just did remodel

Very good service! very recommend!! we had a lot of fun and a answer of all our requestLess good: If the Check is in 15:00 the room will not be ready before! also we were there 14 nights and the GYM where close because of broken mirror that didn’t fixed!but still we are recommended for this place the feeling it’s good you will love it

Overall the staff in the kitchen area really made our stay pleasant The Mexican and Filipino lady always greeted us with a smile each morning and offered to make waffles prior to it being busy, the free dinner offered from Mon-Thurs was an extra added bonus too, free wine selections and beer craft on tap The ladies offered to take our plates it was next level service

The cleanliness of the hotel was amazing only down fall was the fact that house keeping is only offered on certain days unless you request it with 24hours notice No daily house keeping Parking was $18 per day Another issue I had was they only had one set of elevators so if your room is on the other side of the building it was a far walk to the elevators There was stairs but it could be an issue if you have to carry things up etc overall nice hotel

We flew into LAX on a later flight and arrived to the hotel around 8pm We used points to stay at Westdrift and was pleasantly surprised The service was impeccable

I was traveling with three young children and the staff could not have been more helpful, warm and caring They joked with myself and my children and we had a lot of fun The hotel was nicely furnished and clean We will stay again at this location!

I stayed at this location for 2 nights and had a very pleasant stay It was extremely clean in the rooms and in the common areasThe staff are also very friendly

The food here is really good and I highly recommend eating breakfast at the hotel There is also a bar in the lobby and a tiny cafeThe only downside is parking is extremely expensive per night about $40 per night but you can see if they’ll be able to lower it

quite bad front desk servicethe hotel is nice and the rooms are big and modern but the daytime front desk staff

talk about booted people I barely got a hello from 3 people 1 was checking in peopel while the other two were chatting and sitting on the phoneno acknowledgement of my status (and appreciation for being a loyal customer), no water, no late checkout offered (although entitled to), no acknowledgement and apologies for not being able to offer any upgrades after checkin I have asked for a room change further away from the airport and from the noisy AC unit that was just in front of my window and I got a very rude: no rooms availablenight staff was very supportive and they promptly acted when some guests were too loud in the middle of the nightbreakfast was great, but a bit understaffed so you had to wait to be seatedif they would solve the front desk and would give the girls some customer interaction training it could get the 5 stars it deservesI’m going back in 3 weeks and hopefully the front desk would be better staffed

The location was great and the room was very clean Had one very odd experience, though, we left the room and had the maid service hanger on the door We came back to find all our towels were gone but nothing had been cleaned, bed still unmade, etc

We had to go down to the front desk to ask for towels The view of the beach/ocean was pretty good – if you don’t mind looking beyond the exhaust and a/c vents on the restaurant nearby Free onsite parking is always a plus Good ammenities — microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, nice toiletries

Horrible experience ! One star is even too much ! Very noisy and disrespectful manager If you ask for an extra bed (extra cost of 30$!) you will get a very old removable bed from the 70’s with a mattress of 5 cm and a metallic bed structure It was so uncomfortable my son had to sleep on the floor despite the fact the carpet was full of dust mites

Good location but THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD …after 60 countries visited ! I can’t unfortunately share here the pictures and the voice recordings I’ve taken to proof my words !

The location is amazing! BUT I wanted a peaceful staycation to clear my mind and got everything but My “city view” room was actually a view of the neighbors backyard Basically no privacy so no point in even going on the balcony

Then to make matters worse, the neighbors had a large loud party and with the paper thin walls the noise was unbearable Was told I couldn’t change rooms and no refund becuase the noise wasn’t coming from their property So pretty much, my problem, not theirs I took the loss, cut my trip short and went home

The beds are the absolute worse! The bed is extremely hard, you can feel every spring digging into your back, makes the loudest noise with every move! It was hard to stay asleep when you u consciously shift in your sleep If you have back problems this will definitely make you sufferI advised the staff serval times and even 1 week ahead of time

I would require a 1st floor room with immediate access to outside since I have trouble with stairs due to an injury When it was time to check in they said I had to go a second floor room, that had no immediate access to outside for fresh air When I went to complain because it’s difficult and painful to go up and down stairs, they brushed me off with the absolute worst customer service No sorrys just shrugs and oh wells Even got some attitude when I complain that I kept checking in to make sure they know I needed an outside room being on the first floor, can you believe that?!They have a tiny little trash can for their kitchen which is ridiculous since you can fit anything in it especially when you have an entire kitchen The cooking ware looks very run downAlso I find it very awkward and weird how the vents are so conveniently facing the bed, which I advised y’all checking before doing anythingAlso the room we were in had this huge window that faces the living room and part of the bedroom And the ONLY curtain u can close was a SHEER SEE THRU curtain!!!!!! Talk about not being able to walk comfortably thru the room without the possibility of someone looking inside! It was beyond stupid and lack of privacy!I found it very inconvenient and weird how the card you use to open your room can be deactivated if accidentally brushed against your phoneI’m also shocked there was no jacuzzi, very disappointedAlso found yellow stains on our white bed It looked fresh and it made me feel disgustedTheir breakfast was not appetizing, if you take the risk of staying here , you will see what I mean when you go down to breakfastOverall I don’t recommend coming here Sticking with the resident inn by Marriott As someone who is well traveled, this is not the place

Such an Exquisite Hotel and Grandeur presence Entire hotel immaculate and rooms are well appointed I like that the sink is outside/separate of the shower and toilet area

The shutter that divides the two beds is a genius idea The decor is elegant and traditional but yet felt modern The room size was massive for a standard double room It felt like a 500 sq ft room The coffee in the room was very goodUnfortunately, we only stayed one day and arrived late so we didn’t get to eat at the restaurant or enjoyed the outside courtyard nor the many areas to explore and to just relax and soak in the atmosphere We did, however, get to enjoy the fireplace while having a late night snack I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant as the food smelled heavenly Additionally, there are many shopping centers/plaza across the street which we didn’t get to take advantage of as well The entire area is completely safe and very well lit as it is a very lively town The hotel does have a private parking for a fee I will definitely come back and stay longer

Ayres Hotel is comfortable and homely Staff are friendly and we loved the pool and spa Rooms were serviced daily and everything was spotlessly clean and today

Location is good, next time I would ask for a room not overlooking the freeway Stayed here with my husband and adult son Plenty of room for the three of us and privacy between the beds and the shutters were a great idea We will be back!

The employee that was on the desk the night of my arrival was very professional and he greeted me with a sincere and warm welcome I was so exhausted from the work day, that he had to literally verbally guide me to my room The room was exceptionally clean throughout which made the night very relaxing for me

I will truly recommend this hotel to my guest and use it again for local retreats

We booked this hotel last minute when we extended our stay in the LA area I was able to get a discount code directly on their site and the cost was very reasonable for the location and facilities We didn’t get to check out all the amenities but those we saw/experienced were great

We had come from a nearby 5 star resort and to be honest, our room and in room amenities were nicer at Shade Though we didn’t use it, we appreciated the availability of the stocked mini bar Lighting in the room was fun, the bathroom was clean and modern, and the bath was fantastic On top of the usual bathroom stuff (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc) they had a toorhbrush/paste kit and fantastic smelling bath salts They also greeted us with cookies, can’t go wrong with that, ha ha! We were also able to check in quite early which was great since we had to check out of our other hotel at 11 The *only* not ideal part was the walk to the beach but we knew about that when booking so I definitely don’t hold that against them It wasn’t super far but would be a bit of work if you were wanting to take enough stuff for a day out on the beachWe didn’t get the chance to check out the rooftop pool We noticed at both hotels we visited they closed the pools at sunset which was new to us and inconvenient during early sundown months but wouldn’t deter me from staying again Just a head’s up for future visitors

Wow! The suites in this hotel impressed me! What a bathtub is on the balcony overlooking the marina!!!!I liked everything! The neighborhood is great, safe and clean! So many seafood dining options around!I will come back!!!! It’s gorgeous!Would also be perfect not to have neighbors with a barking dog 24/7 I don’t know why such a nice places allow loud animals to the hotel… this part is disappointing
