This was a great hotel to stay in for a much needed long vacation after years of not really travelling anywhere long distance due to the pandemic The view from the room was divine, and the bathroom was the fanciest one I have experienced in a hotel Think lots of marble

The location is at the end of the Waikiki strip, but still walkable to all of the shops and restaurants There are 2 gift shops, and one serves a lot like the ABC convenience stores that are all over Oahu, with pricing that isn’t that different The 100 Sails restaurant in the hotel was fabulous for breakfast A bit pricey, but worth it to try at least once Highly recommend

I and my family stayed here for seven nights and it was absolutely fabulous! The views from the room, elevator, pool are amazing The staff is super friendly, courteous and nice! The valet parking is also good This was our third visit to Oahu

We had stayed in Hilton properties before, including Hilton Village resort, except for the village experiences this hotel has been the absolute bestI loved the bathroom setup, separate shower, closed toilet with bidet (seat warmer), soaking tub outsideGreat house keeping, very friendly and goodMissing things: may be a Lanai (balcony) and Microwave, and US mainland based ATMs that don’t charge extra 🙂

Highly recommendedContext: Ocean view room, two-nightsLocation was great

Just a 15-minute minute walk from the main hub of Waikiki For us, this meant less homeless people and a quieter area with an amazing view of the ocean, especially during sunset Also, there’s a mall that’s a 15-20 minute walk in the other directionRoom was perfect Great view, large enough, and clean Really like their bathroom set-up which is seen more in resorts in Japan Shower and toilet are in separate stalls with a spacious “common” area where the sink and mirror are Great for couplesStaff were very welcoming and accommodating If you need anything printed, they can do it for you if their commonplace printers are down They’ll also send up a microwave for you if you need one**sushi place in the first floor is alright Wife really enjoyed it, but I’d rather get poke at a market elsewhere

Our stay was overall good The positives are what others mention – close to the beach, owners left us alone but were there if needed, and the room was a decent sizeThe negatives were the floor was filthy when we arrived

It was gritty with sand and had hairs all over the place The bathroom had endless black hairs on the floor, the shower, and the sink We understand it’s a beach town, but we immediately went to Target to buy a Swiffer and take it into our own hands 2 completely black Swiffer pads later, we felt at-easeThe blanket had a very small, but noteworthy bloodstain on it that made us uneasy after the condition of the floor There was a spoon left in the cleaning rack There were the other person’s welcome papers left under the tableOverall, it was a nice stay, but in-between people, a better cleaning is absolutely necessary To be fair, we did not tell the owners our thoughts on the cleanliness of the place – we took it into our own hands That was a personal decision on our end

Scheduling was easy Check in very simpleKitchen is very functional with pots and pans, dinnerware, microwave, fridge, toaster oven, electric skillet, coffee pot and a tea kettle and a 2 burner stove

Stocked with basic salt/pepper olive oil coffee and tea Cinnimon bread is outrageousQueen bed is very comfortable I did not try the others 4 in total i believe The shower is huge and opens to another private gardenPlenty of outlets and tables to set up office like i doEasy access to the best beach, restaurants and shopping Pricing is very reasonable for the beauty and comforts of this establishent Thanks again Sheffields

I called asking for info and she hung up on meAfter spending an hour trying to get to a beach with waves, I decided that maybe a local surf shop or hotel owner might be willing to help I felt awkward calling but my family was waiting on me for an answer

I looked for a surf shop and couldn’t find anythingI took a gamble and called this local business The owner was abrupt and rude She told me to call a surf shop and hung up on me Guess what? I’m not paying the surf shop, either You’re frustrated with me for calling you when I’m not bringing you business, so you told me to do the same to somebody else

I fly to Hawaii every year for my birthday, and this was one of my favorite stays! The best part of this hotel is the pool area The bartenders and servers are so much fun and so polite! They made my birthday trip here amazing, I truly do miss them! The hotel itself is located in a prime location and the rooms are nice The food here is great too! If you want a beach/pool day and don’t really feel like going anywhere you can honestly assure that you’ll have great food, drinks and service right at your hotel, plus there’s a small beach a short walk right behind the pool

I Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re going to be in Honolulu and I hope to return this year for my birthday when I come back

Mark Oliva

Everything is good The room size is above average The pools are clean and all amenities are good

The staff are courteous and requests for linen and other essentials were taken care of immediately Parking is not a problem Request a room that has a view of the lagoon so you can watch the fireworks on your room I only gave 3 stars because of the policy that they do not clean the rooms when requested I understand not cleaning daily but if requested, they should clean the room

Chelsea Jones

This was my first stay at the Modern and it was extremely disappointing and nothing special Without prior knowledge, on arrival we were told that there is no room cleaning and we have to ask for fresh towels and other room amenities when we need them, including putting our garbage outside the room Firstly, we are not in quarantine so I don’t know why this is the case and secondly it is not hygienic or pleasant to have used towels and garbage lying around every floor of the hotel corridors

The staff at the hotel are extremely slow at actioning requests When asking for towels, I waited up to an hour for them to be delivered on one occasion They also don’t answer the phone promptly and even before my trip I was trying to contact the hotel about my reservation and I had trouble contacting them via email and phoneThe pool is nice, nothing special The sun beds are filthy however- they could use an upgradePool bar closes at 9:30 which I thought was quite early for a hotel? The overall cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing- on arrival the room was far from spotless There were hairs on the bathroom floor and dust and dirt on the floor which I had to clean myself3 electrical sockets in my room were not working and the WIFI cut in and outWouldn’t bother staying again- apparently it has recently been acquired by Hilton so I hope they can whip the hotel into shape!

coffee maker did not have pods for first breakfast Machine broke for last two breakfasts We had booked both units months ago for our family, one was double booked so we were very disappointed to stay apart the first two nights

We were given what I would consider a small discount for the inconvenience Everyone gets a papaya, that was delicious The rooms are clean and adequate There is plenty of beach equipment which we used

Wasy Wasdyke

We had another great stay at The PP Bob and Jeanette are wonderful and made our trip a fulfilling experience We actually spent more time with them this year because we didn’t do a lot of tourist things

We used the pool and enjoyed the mountain views The room was very clean and airy and Kailua Beach is minutes away It really was a restful vacationSee you next year!

My husband was working on MCBH for a month so i flew out for a week We spent the week here at this beautiful B&B Bob and Jeanette are very pleasant hosts and made us feel right at Home

The room was very clean and the water pressure was excellent for those after beach showers! We enjoyed the pool and also the Lanai The back yard is peaceful and great for enjoying the sun and reading a pool before taking a dip in the pool Next time we come to Hawaii we will definitely be back to Papaya Paradise 😊

This review is based solely on the host we had, Tomomi She was incredibly kind and although our stay did not work out as planned, she was quick to accommodate a refund and was very polite about the entire situation This bed and breakfast has a ton of potential, and just needs a bit more love in regards to some moths and mold in the bathroom

Unfortunately with me being very pregnant, we ended up not staying due to those reasons Again though, we can not say enough kind things about the family that resides here and Tomomi who assists with guests All were so nice and understanding The landscaping was also incredible on property

Xadra Rettew

This bed & breakfast is in a wonderful location, I found this gem browsing orbitz with one room left available It was convenient because I paid in advance so check in with Tomomi was a breeze It is a very intimate quiet setting, it seemed like the owner& family lives there

They were all super polite! I managed to get a lot of great pics around the property that Tomomi helped me with after she served me a delicious customized breakfast Would recommend this to someone looking for a little escape to an exotic classical Hawaiian getaway ( very )close to town

DAVE CIRONE

First let me start off what a beautiful place this is It is a hidden jem 1 of a kind inn

Beginning with the front entrance and continuing thru out the house, wonderful artifacts, paintings, figurines, statues, and fun things that catch your eyeThen there is this garden, probably the best garden I have ever seen, so many things to look at and adore Gives you plenty of shade thru outAlso there is a salt water pool to enjoy in the middle of it allI can not say enough about the family that run it The owner was a great guy to talk to, alot of great info of the place and the island The woman who seems to run it Tomomi, she was the best, caring, host you can imagine, she took care of your check in, and made you comfortable to stayShe even cooked the breakfast the next morning Which was very very goodThe family makes you feel like your home!!! Will Definitely be backThank you guys for a great stay All the way from Chicago

I would like to personally thank Chris and Ben of the Front Desk for wiping my tears away and making this a vacation of a lifetime The hotel is old but the rooms have been updated and look really nice The hotel staff will do everything they can to make your stay pleasurable

The location is awesome! I would highly recommend this hotel and will return next year If you can please try to book a oceanfront suite on a high floor The views are amazing, there is truly something magical at the Royal Hawaiiansuite on a high floor The oceanfront views are amazing The breakfast dishes were delicious

I had a perfect stayI appreciated the staff so much They were top notch and made our stay amazing

They were knowledgeable and so helpful The hotel is super clean and gorgeous and the location is fantastic We were close to everything and as a resort guest you could reserve great beach umbrella/seats to relax Everything is in walking distance and the live music at night was beautiful

Jessica Airel

I’ll start by saying the staff deserves 5 stars They are helpful and friendly and really made the trip enjoyable My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and the staff was quick to upgrade our room to a higher floor, and gave us a voucher for 2 free drinks and pastries at the bakery, both were very tasty

This was our first time staying at a 5 star hotel, and I honestly didn’t see a difference between a lower star hotel and this one I was surprised to find that with the price we paid to stay here, nothing was included in our stay Not even breakfast When we went to get breakfast our first day, I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw they wanted like $3200 for a basic omelet, and the food menu in general is teeny tiny If you wanted beach chairs, you had to rent them at $6000 a day, which is insaneThe walls to the rooms are paper thin I was woken up every single day at 6 am by guests yelling to each other, and was woken up several times after midnight because someone thought it was appropriate to blast a harry potter movie So quiet times are definitely not enforced here  And even if someone was having a conversation at a normal volume, we heard that loud and clear as wellIf you want to view this beautiful historic hotel, I would suggest staying elsewhere and walk around it for a bit We did have a nice stay in Hawaii, but I wouldn’t stay here again, I would go back to staying in a 3 star hotel because I honestly saw no difference between here or a 3 star hotel

Not as advertised – insane hidden fees – gross carpet – fake upgradesI was fooled by the reviews, pictures, description, and overall rating of this “resort” I’ll list the cons and then the pros since I believe in transparent, neutral, non biased reviewsCONS:- old, gross looking, dirty carpet in hallways to rooms on each floor- huge hidden fees (housekeeping $40 per cleaning, $40 lounge chair rental fee for pool area, $400 cabana rentals by the pool, $35 breakfast not included with room as advertised)- fake upgrade

I booked a partial ocean view, high floor room, and they explained they upgraded me for free to an ocean view They lied and gave me the same room I booked as they could not prove which room they had me booked in prior to the upgrade- The mini fridge was faulty and the door would not stay closed, causing us to lose lots of perishable items- The pool area is “reserved” after 7pm and impossible to find a free place to sit- Bed was older, spring mattresses, not pillow top or comfortable for a 5 star resort- NOT a 5 star resort as most travel sites claim it to bePROS:- Nice and friendly staff- Decent views as most of the surrounding hotels have views of other hotels- Centrally located in Waikiki, easy to get anywhere from thereDo your research, compare rates, look for hidden fees, upgrade items, know what it’s actually included in your hotel or resort

natasha Russell

The location was really good, although Waikiki is an extremely touristy place the rooftop bar feels like you have left the touristy streets The rooms were Nice (located in the beach side rooms)A fair few cons tho, although this should be a 4-5 star resort at times it didn’t feel like it We asked for a partial beach view, and was mainly buildings with a glimpse of beach

A man behind the bar (Chris I think?) was quite rude, we expect to have pool side/table service at all times, however, the man stated we had to come collect/order our food and drinks at the bar which meant kept having to get in and out of the pool (lots of staff still on duty) Although when the females were on duty, table service was allowed and we felt extremely welcomed! The music was extremely loud, could hear it on level 17 at 10pm I think the staff should also manage who leaves the pool, as seen, some would put towels on spare chairs and then leave for hours Or one lady put 4 towels on different chairs to “save them” then no one would show up for 3+ hours Also would recommend putting guests over walk ins on the pool lounges Our room was only ever cleaned 1/6 days The only other time was a house keeper coming at 5:30pm and we declined as it was night time and expect it to be done during the day Although, this all sounds so negative and I am not one to write a negative review but when you are paying a lot of money, you expect these certain things to be met or to not have as many negative things to say Overall, I’d say this is a 3 star hotel with the possibility of being a 4-5 star resort if fixing those issues

Christopher

Great location, comfortable and clean room, nice pool and jacuzzi, good service, food at bar/restaurant could use improvementI was in room 1962 king bed with ocean and diamond head view

Bed was clean and comfortable, slept well each night Air conditioning was easy to control and worked quickly and I believe automatically turned off if the patio doors were open Did not hear my neighbors at all unless I was out on the patio Yes the carpet looks dirty but it was a design choice not because it hasn’t been cleaned The mini fridge was the probably the only major failure in the room, it takes a long time to cool things and probably had food poisoning from some leftovers I put insideThe location is perfect All food options were within a 10 minute walk at most and the beach is just across the streetAll in all, a good, affordable modern hotel

My husband & I celebrated our honeymoon at Paradise Bay The views are astounding! Treat yourself to a mountain view suite! You won’t regret it! The views driving up to the main roads are also amazing! My husband was in love! Paradise Bay provides the quaint & relaxing feeling Yes, there are roosters but not heard all of the time

The grills, pool, docks are all amazing! The boat excursion with Brian & Captain Rollin a huge plus & amazing experience! No, they’re not serving breakfast or any dining but everything is within a 10 minute drive & they provide an excellent list of dining suggestions! Minor issues (pillowcase had stains, only 1 side of toaster working) but the views & your experience make those minor issues disappear! Would definitely come back one the breakfast & dining re-open (hopefully very soon!)

Dan Davis

Overall the resort is nice It’s clean and they have some great services The staff were all very friendly

My only complaint is that the walls are very thin You can hear your neighbors dishes, conversations, etc as if they were right in your room If they could fix that by adding insulation or removing doors that connect rooms, then they would be fantastic

Kate Oksendahl

The location was wonderful and staff were very friendly Rooms are basic (they’ve got a few TV subscription channels that you can log into if you have your own account) and walls are very thin My only issue was that they are still charging a $19 per night Resort Fee (half off) even though they aren’t serving breakfast and they additionally charge $15 per night for parking

The Resort Fee covers kayak rentals, the fitness room, and pool towels, but if you’re not using those things, it would be nice if it at least covered parking on their property This added up to an additional $200 for 5 nights I’d prefer that they just charge for amenities à la carte Otherwise, we had a great stay

The room was spacious, clean and newly renovated The beds were big and comfortable The location are convenient to a lot of restaurants and shopping malls The hotel staff were so kind and always there to provide help to the hotel guests The hotel also had an easy access to the beach and different kinds of water activities The hotel public area were newly renovated in a modern and bright style to make you feel happy and relax At last , I wants to say thanks to Mandy, the housekeeper of 8F, she worked so hard to keep our Room 819 clean and tidy everyday Also, send my thanks to Frank, the manager of V47 club lounge, he was always there every morning to help us set up the breakfast All my family members, my husband, my kids love the hotel so much We will definitely come back in the near future

From start to finish, this hotel was perfect for our family vacation Donna, at the front desk, was helpful on more than one occasion and made our stay that much more relaxing and worry free All staff members we spoke to were friendly and attentive

Our room was cleaned daily (we called to ask for it) We stayed in a one bedroom suite, and both the bed and the pull out sofa bed were comfortable Rooms were cool with air conditioning that ran without any issues The fridge and microwave were very handy with two kids – so we were able to keep snacks and beverages in our room for a longer period of time The pool was relaxing, and right next to the bar ~ which made for a relaxing time for the adults and fun time for the kiddos If you walk through the hotel you end up straight on the beach! Overall, we are so pleased we stayed here, and will definitely book again!

Not too bad overall, but a little overrated The price is what you’d expect from a military-affiliate hotel, so the higher rank you are the less value you’re getting The location isn’t bad, but a little outside the main area (this may be considered an advantage)

Parking is $16 is you’re staying there, which is great for the area The big hit on this hotel for me, along with the rough towels in the bathroom, was the pool There’s an adult only pool, a main pool with an infinity pool above it, and a splash area for children The splash area is fun, but the main pool had so many rules it was hard to enjoy anything:- the entire pool is cleared at the top of the hour for “safety and training,” whatever that entails (it wasn’t obvious)- a child must know how to swim to swim in the pool without a life jacket (which they will provide) I understand that’s extremely safe, but then what’s the point of the three lifeguards and the other rule to be within arm’s reach of your young child all the time? Clearly this pool is not a good opportunity to have a child practice swimmingOverall, I’m glad I stayed a night, and I haven’t discounted the Hale Koa entirely, but I will definitely do a thorough cost comparison with hotels in the area before staying again

Jessica Morel

Friendly staff, very clean hotel and Omgosh the beds are comfortable as ever! There is a Starbucks in the main lobby which is convenient when you want to wake up early and just lounge in the lobby area Downstairs there is the Exchange for military and hotel guest Pathway downstairs leads you to the pools and beaches

Food was good I had a cheeseburger and fries for lunch which was delicious Ocean view rooms you will not regret if you purchase it was amazing! Free parking and walking distance from the strip I definitely would book here again!

Tammy Folks

Hale Koa is a haven in the craziness of Waikiki The grounds are stunning The adult pool was so relaxing and quiet, with shaded areas which is a must for me

Liked the Barefoot Bar as there was a lot of room to spread out, and had good drinks for a reasonable price Our room was very nice, we were on the end so had an extra large window which made it feel more spacious Our friends stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian village which was beautiful, but it was way too crowded for us We enjoyed the serene quiet of Hale Koa! The only thing I would change is for restaurants to have more gluten free options as I have celiac disease The breakfast buffet was fine, but the snack bars really had very little or nothing I could eat This hotel is a definite perk for those who serve/retire from the military We felt blessed to have the opportunity to stay there!

Excellent!! I had an absolutely fantastic stay during my five days at this Hyatt The valet was always quick, and the staff were genuinely friendly and conversational I requested a room with a better view at check-in, and the on-site manager immediately came over, searched for available rooms, and put me in a room with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows

The room was super nice, and hotel provides optional everyday cleaning The shower is essentially a high pressure car wash, making you feel like a brand new, cleansed person stepping out The lobby and splash pool is a nice place to lounge and eat carryout Location is also ideal and <8 min walk to Waikiki beach with plenty of eateries to choose fromI seldom give 5 star ratings, but this Hyatt rightfully earns it I highly recommend and will def stay here again for future vacations to Oahu! This review is long overdue!I had the pleasure of staying here at the end of March for 4 nights This place is hospitality done right! I feel like the staff is genuinely caring and very approachableEvery encounter with any staff member was incredibly pleasant, front desk, concierge, bell, housekeeping, even the manager, Daniel, had reached out to me prior to my stay to check-in before my travel day was approaching

My room was amazing! Great view, great size, very clean and well maintained There is a resort fee but it goes a long way I took advantage of the resort fee by using the gym, took a professional yoga class, and they provide beach towels/umbrellas/boogie boards/ for the beach- which is short walking distance passing all of the nice shops They even give you these really cool Hyatt branded reusable bottles (to fill with water or your favorite drink) They made a great souvenirMy first Hyatt stay and definitely won’t be my last Thank you Daniel & team for the hospitality and making my first trip to the Islands so memorable! I will definitely be back!

We had a great visit at this hotel Many hotels in Honolulu are aging and look broken down That is not the case here

Everything was clean and updated The lobby is accommodating and has plenty of lounge furniture to relax in or space to eat, work etcOur room was immaculately clean and very comfortable Plenty big as well Has a large flat screen TV with all the modern smart TV features including Chromecast! We did have a couple of issues with refrigerator and plumbing, but they were resolved quickly, and the staff was very accommodating and concerned that we were as comfortable as possibleSpeaking of service, the staff members here are some of the most friendly, helpful, courteous, professional, and personable people of any hotel I’ve stayed at They were so nice to us, and could provide any information we needed about Honolulu and local places of interest They also played with and fawned over our 10 month old daughter and made her feel very special I mean we almost want to come back every year just so they can watch her growThe pool is unique It’s not a deep lap swimming pool But more shallow and designed for lounging in (or out of) the water It was absolutely perfect for us, and our daughter quite possibly had the best time of her life in the pool The other amenities are also great It feels like they thought of everything we could need and made it available to usThe location is perfect for Waikiki It’s within walking distance to anything you could be visiting Waikiki to do Tons of nearby restaurants, upscale and regular shopping, as well as souvenir shops and other activities Very close, easy walk, to the beachI could go on and on, but suffice it to say this hotel is appropriate for families, couples, single people, travel groups, you name it Highly, highly recommend Hyatt Centric in Waikiki

Such an amazing place! 6 of us travelled here 4 adults and 2 children and had 2 King size rooms The hotel is clean and everyone is so friendly The kids loved the pool (of course) and the shaved ice every day was amazing

Everything about our experience was fantastic The food and coffee at the hideaway restaurant was phenomenal Plus kids crafts every day and live music weekend evenings! I would absolutely travel here again and I am recommending this place to all of my friends Thank you for a great stay!

We have visited Hawaii twice and stayed at The Laylow both times The hotel has maintained its high standard during the pandemic and keeps the rooms extra clean The location is simply unbeatable

You are a block away from the beach, shopping and restaurants but still get to enjoy the quietness in the evening The only caveat is that parking is valet only and costs $49/night We are very happy with our stay and would recommend it to anyone!

Nask Family

The sweetest couple own this place and are so attentive and friendly The beds are super comfy It’s so quiet and private and better then any hotel

There’s a pool and a tropical patio area with lounge chairs and table and chairs with umbrella The place is so clean and we’ll cared for The owners are on site so if you ever need anything they are right there to help Wonderful location A term minute walk to the beach or downtown to restaurants and stores Bus stop is right around the corner There room was personalized just for us complete with an unexpected gift basket full of fruit with complimentary coffee and bagels There’s plenty of parking

Nicole Theise

I loved pillows and Paradise because soon as you got there you felt like family and you felt secure It was a beautiful setting with the lovely large room it felt relatively private from the other Suites The bagel and jam and pineapple was a very sweet touch as well as all the amenities that are provided in the kitchen

The Oil of Olay body wash was the icing on the cake The only thing that I would request is that if somebody says they do not want their room service it’s more than likely because they want privacy and I was a little off put when I came in to find that things have been tidied up and put back into place while we were out for the day It was a little embarrassing because I wasn’t expecting that and that kind of made me uncomfortable I’m sure if this practice changed I would absolutely give it a 10 out of 5 cuz it was beautiful and a perfect location Old beds tho, with body imprint And right off kitchen so u dont want to make any noise either as u basically share the space with the owners, sound wise

Luc Durand

Very nice place, very well situated, fair price, good service, really nice landlord, I loved my stay there, I would probably stay there if I come back to Oahu Kailua is the perfect place to be for surfers, windsurfers, kitesurfers, hikers, and just beach lovers 🙂 Thanks again to Barbara and her husband for your warm welcome even at 2:00 am in the middle of the night 🙂

and Yes you can park for free if you rent a car 😉

The location here is nice Close to the beach and you have a parking spot The room is outdated but fit all our needs

Would’ve really enjoyed our time if there weren’t ants everywhere Which, maybe is to be expected on an Island but we had trail mix out for 2 minutes and literally ants everywhere in it and also found a few ants in the bed I hate ants so this was not cool for us Ants in the sink On the wall in the bath tub Everywhere Not cool!!

My wife & I stayed at Janice’s wonderful B&B to celebrate the beginning of our honeymoon, and the entire experience at Hawai’i’s Hidden Hideaway was absolutely fantastic! Tucked away in a gorgeous neighborhood in Kailua, the place is as charming in person as we hoped Upon our arrival, the room was clean, cozy, and stocked full with everything you might need for a beach escape We had the pleasure of meeting our lovely host Janice one morning, where we got a little history of the place as well as some local recommendations

I would HIGHLY recommend staying here, 5 star, 10/10, would love to come back!

Melora Leiser

Hawaii Hideaway B&B is the perfect location, comfortable, clean and very accommodating! I stayed for two weeks and loved every minute! Janice has thought of every little thing you may need – from many kitchen items, to extra food, to extra towels, cooler, beach bag, beach mats and even umbrellas for those occasional rain showers Nestled back in a quiet neighborhood, minutes walk or bike ride to the beach and carport parking – the location is great! I rented a bike (The Bike Shop recommended by Janice) and rode all over Kailua – mostly to the beach Nearby Lanikai and Kailua beach are often rated the best because they are beautiful, full of activity but also quiet spots and great for sunrises, long walks and swimming

The room is very clean, with a small table, comfortable bed and great bathroom suite The shower and all the provided toiletries worked great and were much appreciated Janice provides fresh fruit, juices, water, pastries and more upon arrival The kitchenette is well stocked with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot, hot plate, dishes, silverware, pots, pans and many kitchen utensils The outdoor spaces were great too – I spent many mornings on my private lanai enjoying the beautiful tropical plants, birds and breezes The room has A/C and plenty of fans – I felt very comfortable and secure I highly recommend the Hawaii Hideaway Bed and Breakfast and hope to come back soon!

Beautiful hotel with great views, above and beyond friendly staff, dolphins, and a beach The outside looks very dated but the room was very nice Sure, some more updates are needed as older but it’s wonderful inside

Room is great and the lobby is prettyThe food by pool and drinks were great The beach was nice and calm to swim but can’t swim out too far and can’t snorkel there Staff again is so friendly and helpful and I wish we were staying longerLoved the dolphins and walking by them Our view was amazingHoku’s is amazing and I’ll be going back

Been Jammin

Excellent staff Kids love this place Eating dinner on balcony/falling asleep ten feet from dolphins

Also this resort is non smoking and there’s no smoke coming from the outside in I stayed somewhere in Waikiki and was destroyed by cigarette smoke every time I opened a window Not here!!This is the best place on Oahu

Bethany T.

My husband and I stayed at the Kahala during our recent trip to Oahu, and were beyond impressed with the service we received Upon checking in, we met Carolyn who was an absolute delight and so kind to us We laughed throughout the entire check in process! Sean from Seaside Grille was very kind and just easy to talk with

All staff members were incredibly conscious of Covid-19 and took extraordinary precautions I would say my favorite thing about The Kahala though was the step-above they take for their guests Mahalo, Kahala Hotel for an incredibly clean, well-cared for hotel room

Went here for our honeymoon- beautiful hotel but a lot of improvements could be madeThese were our negativesWe spent $4k to stay here for our honeymoon yet if you want a sunbed round the pool you have to get up early due to people leaving towels on them and disappearing until later in the dayIf you want a sunbed on the beach these are an extra $80 A DAY!!The ones which have four posts and a curtain attached are $200!!So for us even spending $4000 to stay at the hotel it seemed we were lower class and laid on the beach with sand blowing on us

One night we went to sit in the main bar area where the piano / music is played- with our coffees that we just bought at the hotel outside bar and was told the seats were only for people spending a two drink minimum- our coffees didn’t count – again we were made to feel like the poor lower class guestsThe last other thing was breakfast We had complimentary continental breakfast and the servers were very quick to point out it only included one drink and not lattes – again $4K spent to stay there and I can’t have a bit of steamed milk in my coffee I just think that’s very mean and poor formMaybe the managers making these rules should concentrate on the cleanliness as the restaurant could do with a dustThings were way overpriced in the hotel which I would expect but $12 for a (non alcoholic) frozen kona coffee from the pool bar TWELVE DOLLARS!!All in all nice hotel way overpriced

jaaks6

What a beautiful hotel! Staff was very friendly, accommodating Rooms way more than we expected and the ocean view fantastic! What a beautiful old hotel that’s been updated but still has it’s understated original charm and luxurious feel I can only imagine what the “First Lady” looked like in it’s early hey day

Hope to return and spend more time

Robert Sheldon

Great location, excellent service, and awesome beach Bathroom was a little dated, but the bed is comfortable, water is hot, and water pressure was good Our ocean view room had a beautiful view of Waikiki beach from the balcony

Good on site dining options, especially the breakfast You’re better off going across the street into the International Marketplace for multiple restaurant options for dinner

We stayed on the 7th floor with an ocean view room – decent view of the ocean, but you’re also looking straight down at neighboring hotel’s pool and roof top bar Hotel is situated right off of the main road, but was very noisy at night We had to sleep with ear plugs in and a sound machine going

I didn’t catch his name, but the young guy who checked us in and took care of us the majority of our stay was so nice and accommodating He even brought a hair dryer up to our room after we discovered our room was missing one He was awesome – thank you! The hotel parking is tight and limited and at an additional cost of $35/night Room was clean and bed was comfortable Quick access to main road and beach by foot Likely wouldn’t return here because we prefer somewhere more quiet and secluded than being down in the hub of it all

Alanieta Waqanicagica

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Waikiki – this is the best place! Not too pricey, hotels are clean, beach is a mere 2 min walk away The bus stop is also 2 min walk away, an ABC convenience stop is by it, if you’re heading out for Luau, tour etc the pickup spot is close tooThey don’t offer breakfast but many breakfast spots are close, rooms are serviced daily and the hotel staff are very friendly

If you can get a room with a balcony – it’s got some of the best views!

james olver

You couldn’t ask for a better location, great view, extremely convenient to the beach and tons of great food Staff was very friendly at all times and they offer a lot of extras for beach fun It was a little wonky finding with a car at first, but once we got the hang of it, easy peasy

Scout ahead on street view and you’ll avoid a lap around the block

This hotel has some pretty mixed reviews but I would definitely give it 5 stars It’s by far the best option in its price point especially considering how close it is to the beachThe rooms were small but comfortable with some nice updates and a great layout

If you are travelling alone or with just one other person, the size of the rooms is completely fine If you can, opt for rooms with views of diamond head as those views truly are unbeatableGreat restaurant and bar as well as a fantastic lobby with several shops, a dedicated employee to help you book tours, and a really good coffee shopLast but not least, it’s right across the street from the zoo For me, this is a HUGE selling point but I get that it’s not for everyoneAll in all, great stay

Lindsay Huber

Had a wonderful time staying here! The view of diamond is absolutely amazing The hotel is really pretty and great location Loved the large windows in my room

I did the yoga, which was very lovelyThe room was missing some basics There was no full length mirror, microwave, or coffee maker The restaurant and coffee shop were good, but very expensive

Tracey Badgley

Very nice hotel but it was totally different from the pictures on the website The ocean view was very difficult as you had to look up and around the wall and just above the trees to get a peek at the ocean The view of the volcano was beautiful

Most people want a cup of coffee in the morning but hard to do from the convenience of your room when there’s no coffee pot of any sort in room, no microwave either Great location and meal options available but very pricey, $30 for a burger
