I didn’t have high expectations but overall this was a pleasant surprise The staff is very friendly and customer service focused The breakfast was probably above average to a fair amount above average

The rooms are about exactly what you would expect but were clean enough and good enough for their purpose Parking is plentiful, although there seems to be a notorious consistent practice of people parking in the very back corners and having their car alarms go off at all hours of the night, though I don’t know that is the Hotels faultThis hotel is a little ways South of Tacoma and a little ways North of Olympia but is basically right on top of Fort Louis and McCord if you’re coming TDY It seems like during the week half the room having breakfast is in military uniform

Stephanie

I’m a little mixed on how to do this review On one hand the room was nice and clean, had a nice mini fridge and microwave and a Keurig coffee pot with about 4 coffee pods and some creamer/sugar packets That all was nice

The bed had a duvet on the bedspread, which scares me that maybe they don’t wash the bedspread, but just the duvet Also the bedspread kept slipping out of it and falling to the floor, that was annoying to keep fixing On the other hand I’m disappointed in the facility because I rented it specifically for the pool and hot tub, the hot tub was out of order and the pool was cold, like really cold I came from Illinois to visit my son and his family on the army base and wanted a pool for the kids to come swim in, if I hadn’t wanted the pool I would have chosen a different hotel closer It was mid 40s outside, so I’m not sure why an indoor pool was so cold, but it was too cold to use The continental breakfast was okay

Cort McAllister

The staff is awesome here Gives you bottled water for free However, this place has 147 rooms and one (1) guest laundry facility

One of the two washing machines is out of service, so now there’s one machine for the entire hotel That creates absolute chaos Not to mention the fact that the year is now 2022 and we are still seeing coin-operated machines instead of the kind which can take a credit or debit card No pets allowed Hot tub taped off, out of order One of the elevators just broke Staff never at the front, sometimes nobody is in the back office either Ice machine is empty

This is an amazing historic building, and McMenamins did a great job making it a fun place to visit! Staff was friendly and very helpful! Our group had a dinner and everyone enjoyed the food and were really impressed with the quality of food and how great it was The Spanish Ballroom is a great music venue! The sound system is excellent and a really cool space to check out live music! I definitely will return as I know I missed some of the great spaces Parking is mostly street parking, so that was the only reason I gave location 4 stars

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any resort This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in the area

I have been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you won’t be let downLove love love this place! So unique and so fun! What a great atmosphere, from the inside to the out and from the top to the bottom! Each bar is so different and I think my favorite thing is I don’t know if there’s 2 matching light fixtures in the entire place! Oh And the food is so good!!!

Gerry Hunter

McMenamins nailed it again with the Elks Temple property; a beautiful renovation of an historic building, well-executed and full of fun bits of history to learn about the building and the area Fun to stroll the entire building (the diverse collection of chandeliers is amazing — don’t miss the atrium!) We had dinner in the pub; the service was solid, and everything was tasty and a decent value

Even had a couple of cocktails which were pleasingly well-madeThe bed was great, the room was clean and everything worked Only downside was a bit of all-night industrial noise and light from across the water; it was great to sit and look out at it all with a drink, but a touch noisy for good sleep Pulling closed the heavy drapes in the room took care of all of the light and most of the noise though, so it should really only be an issue for light sleepers

The place is beautiful don get me wrong But I would expect at least to get free breakfast or parking they charge for both considering i spent 200 for one night i was hoping at least a meal or to be able to park but I was wrong 🙄 kind of a disappointment but I get it they need to make there money 💰 but after I found out about breakfast I had ordered a orange juice and then they made a big deal about paying for the orange juice it just seemed a little pety considering how much I spent to stay here not everyone has extra money to spend i just came to bring my daughter to see the artwork! But I don’t think I would stay here again

Shonda Barnett

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for our girls weekend The hotel is BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED in blown glass by different artists, and there is a different artists featured on each floor The location of the hotel was close to shops and restaurants

They also offer dog friendly rooms at this location I would say the only downside would be the customer service on dayshift Our room keys were not working and we needed help getting our bags and room key in order and instead of someone assisting us we had to make 4 trips getting stuck out of our room and on the elevator with bags Needless to say we were pretty annoyed at this point But all in all that was the only snaffle we had and in the large sum of things it wasn’t a bad stay at all The night shift however was excellent, they brought up extra blankets in a timely manner and they were very helpful and friendly

Wrennifred Knightly

For $170 per night, I don’t think that I’d stay here again I don’t typically write reviews unless I feel that my experience was really not worth the money (or if it really was!) Bought about $75 worth of groceries, stored it in the fridge, and the next day it stopped/wasn’t working and all of the food and drinks we bought went bad

Café had a 30+ minute wait and didn’t have enough available seating for the events they host, even getting there when they opened there was a wait time Room service wasn’t allowed, covers on the bed had a rip in it Door lock stopped working too and we got locked out for a good hour or so before someone came to fix it Hotel itself is beautiful, but seemed to care more about money made over quality of stay

We had a nice time at this B&B which is several bedrooms in a house with a hosts sleeping in the basement We were pleasantly surprised to a delicious homemade dinner Safe and free on street parking, no pets allowed

Beautiful garden Bathrooms are shared, but we were the only guests for our bathroom which was nice Kitchen has everything you might need and the house overall has the “visiting grandma’s house” vibe down to a T Breakfast at 8am sharp but none of it was hot (not an issue) so we probably wouldn’t have gotten up quite so early if we had realized that Our double bed was rock hard, also not an issue for us but something to note if you have any back problems The hostess is such a sweet lady and great cook which is why I rate 4 stars and not 3, and also because I don’t rate small business low But I would rate 3 because the host began a prolonged discussion about politics over breakfast – and by discussion, I mean we listened to him talk about his opinion on vaccine mandates and lying politicians We were asked repeatedly don’t we agree – we didn’t, but our hesitancy to answer and vague “not really”s did nothing to quell the speech It was thoroughly awkward for us, especially as a nurse This occurance is still bothering me five days later But overall a solid and homey place to stay

Beth Whitaker

The history of B&Bs in the US began when people would let rooms in the homes to travelers passing through This helped families through challenging times, such as the Great Depression Often travelers would stay only one or two days, have breakfast with the family hosting the travelers, and then the travelers would fix or buy their other meals on their own

Patty and Jerry have captured the essence of a true B&B experience, but enhanced it with wonderful breakfasts catering to special diets, warm personalities, and a charming ambience My travels kept me there way longer than the average, and they were very kind about my staying They even stepped up and have given this mom a huge peace of mind leaving my college freshman 2100 miles from homeThese two are kind Accommodations comfortable and homeyHighly recommend and will be backOnly negatives like hotter shower and one twin bed is harder than I am used too But they still get a rarely used 5 stars because everything else, including them as people, deserve this and a bonus star if allowedOther bonuses: super close to UPS, Gig Harbor, shopping, restaurants, hiking trails, and other attractions If you need anything, just ask either one and they will do what they can

We really enjoyed our stay at the Silver Cloud Inn and would have given five stars if it weren’t for the fact that they charge $14 dollars per night to park for hotel guests Since guests are paying such a high price already for such a nice hotel, you would think they would parking would be included Our room was beautiful and spacious with a gorgeous view

The staff/hotel were very accommodating and welcomed our service dog The hotel is in a safe and nice location, with a dog park just feet away which was very convenient since we were traveling with our service dog The breakfast options were great, they offered both hot and cold items, everything tasted good Staff were always very nice, friendly and prompt in taking care of any of our needs in a timely manner We definitely recommend

J X

Rooms are clean and interior is updated The Staff are super friendly and the location is unbeatable Great views from almost all the rooms

Complimentary Breakfast is also delicious and simple with a fantastic morning viewOnly downside Not enough to take a star away, is the shower The water pressure is a joke More like a trickle

I booked this place for my bf 21st birthday, it was easy booking & they’re friendly and helpful over the phone When we arrived, they upgraded his room to a better view with a jacuzzi complementary for his birthday which was amazing and shocking! We stayed here for three weeks while looking for a house The staff was exceptionally kind and compassionate through this rough time We celebrated a birthday, took care of a sick dog, dealt with realtors, and many other very stressful things while staying here

The staff made us feel at home When there was a break in nearby, the staff kept us safe, even having a family member in the parking lot to watch for us The rooms are spacious and were very clean when we got there The whole hotel is clean I loved the snack room and gym I can’t express how great of a stay this was I look forward to staying here again

Andrea Engh

I love how clean the place is The rooms are very spacious and they have a camera always watching the parking lot front and back and all throughout the halls It’s very secure and the staff are always friendly saying hello and how is your day and have a good night

Plus you can borrow stuff for example I needed to borrow a blender It was super easyi just told the lady at front desk and she unlocked the cupboard and got me 1 Plus they always have free coffee all day long and you can borrow movies and even have stuff charged to your room (like an expensive hotel) Here I’ll sum it up in 2 words THEY’RE AWESOME!

Ed Bunch

Nice rooms with full kitchens including a dishwasher

which your expect to use for breakfast as they don’t provide one (as my wife thought 🙂 Price was right as there really isn’t anything around except for the commuter train – less than 1 miles walk Pretty quiet and comfortable They take security pretty seriously as they keep the inner front door locked from outside and you have to be let in depending on the time of day Only one small non-decaf coffee (maybe could ask for more) and no cream is provided to used in the full size coffee maker You get to figure out how much H2O to use Recommended bringing your own ground coffee and breakfast fixins

I stayed here for two nights while visiting the Tacoma area with my teen daughter We had the Grandview Suite, which lived up to its name The castle and grounds are visually stunning and were well worth the stay

However, as others have noted, the bedrooms are not well maintained (cracked linoleum in our kitchenette and a bathtub that was so badly scratched up we didn’t use it) Also, some of the decor in our room was cheap and tacky in a way that doesn’t fit with the overall grandeur of the place, like the electric fireplace, which was barely functioning It seemed to me that the focus here is on weddings, since the more public areas of the house seem to be in better shape than the guest rooms I don’t know that I would stay again, but I’m glad to have stayed once to have access to prowl around this magnificent old building I just wish it were more lovingly taken care of

Very clean and comfortable Rooms are spacious and provides a curtain to add a little privacy between bed and sofa bed (great if you have a kid) The rooms are well insulated

Even though our room faced the interstate and train, it didn’t keep us up Breakfast was decent for a continental type We stayed 4 nights prior to our military move Would definitely recommend!

I’m not sure which was more beautiful, the home or the lovely couple running it Actually, the surrounding neighborhood was pretty great, too Toni and Martin were so attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the entire house

Now we want to stay in all of the rooms Everything was clean and nicely decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the jacuzzi tub was awesome! And Toni totally outdid herself at breakfast, to include taking my husband’s special diet needs into consideration We had a lovely stay and we’re looking forward to going back some day

Brody Sauers

Stayed here for several weeks while working It was a great stay Toni and Martin were outstanding hosts and super friendly

The room was beautiful and very comfortable And the location is great Short walking distance to everything you’d need, including a grocery story (stadium Thriftway is 10/10), restaurants, bars, pharmacy The immediate area is filled with beautiful houses that are worth a walk to see as well

Lani Bartlett

Very impressive building and grounds It had an historical and grand ambiance to it The hosts were very accommodating and friendly

The breakfasts were fantastic The fruit salads in the picture were elegantly assembled The only negative was that the building and grounds were in a bit of disrepair and there was more clutter than expected But all in all, we enjoyed our stay very much

The Aeroplane Room was visually cozyNot so much for the bed and seating We stayed two nights and as a middle-aged guy the mattress was one of the poorest I’ve experienced

Very lumpy and clearly way past it’s prime For the price I would expect much more The wicker sitting chair was also quite uncomfortable to me

My family had to stay here for 40+ days during our move out of state The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good There is a staff member named Ray that roams the halls doing odd jobs

He is rude and unfriendly He looks as if he is homicidal or suicidal I’d avoid him Everybody else is above and beyond friendly that goes above and beyond for the guests There’s a pool and hot tub that’s well maintained as well as a bar the serves drinks and food on the weekends There’s a small store by the front desk and a laundry room that requires $3 in quarters to wash and dry The business and conference rooms are great and helpful to work in The outdoor spaces are nice and include an outdoor smoking space behind the building If you ask to borrow a vacuum you might run into Ray or his boss He won’t speak to you just stare at you like he hates you She will literally yell at you that you better bring that vacuum back Disgruntled staff I believethey are the only reason I won’t give the hotel a 5 star This hotel would be a 5 star easily if they weren’t working there

I stayed here for a business trip in the area The rooms were clean and simple which I liked As with most any accomodations you will have to contend with the sound of other guests meandering about, but the beds were comfortable enough that I slept well

The staff were friendly and informative, and they provide a basic breakfast I enjoyed the small amount of time I spent here and the convenience of it’s location, so I will be staying here again

Kels J

Staff is professional and helpful In room coffee is quite good, plus they give you more if you ask! Bed was super comfy – pillows a bit flat but I had the best nights’ rest here Huge in room TV! Since my family is expecting many family member headed into town for our wedding I am confident this Team will provide a positive experience

Having stayed regularly over the past 13 years, this was our go-to spot for a little luxury getaway stay for a room with a jacuzzi tub to relax Since moving to the area, I’ve routinely recommended the INN at Gig Harbor to family and friends However the most recent visit left us disappointed

The exterior of the building remains charming, but the rooms, furnishings and linens are in dire need of attention and updating

My experience was an over-the-top delight From the start it was easy to navigate to and find the hotel, even after a stressful day and a challenging drive I pulled into valet to be pleasantly welcomed and I hadn’t even gotten out of my car

The individuals working (Eric) were pleasant, sharp and communicated well, very helpful Then as I entered I was met with a visual delight The lighting, the art and decor, the layout and design were all great However, the staff provided to be the true delight Check in was a breeze, (Erika) was so informative and vibrant I felt at ease by her disposition as she spent just a few minutes sharing with us about our amenities, opportunities and entertainment Really a pleasurable experience that rewarded me with calmness and excitement, how refreshing So as we took the elevator we noticed we couldn’t feel a thing while riding it Then we turned our attention to being excited with what our room experience would be like, given everything so far As we opened our door we were very impressed It was a wave of awe, a sense of appointment, intentional if not deliberate thought was given to the tiniest of details The room was glorious, the king size bed comfortable, the freshness of the comforter was incredible The pillows were a little stiff and over large but otherwise fine There was even a bottle of wine to greet us with real glassware located through the room An umbrella to use (how thoughtful) and many many amenities for use, including the ever needed vanity kit Really an immersive room experience Absolutely nothing was in want in this room Except those pillowsThe pool and hot tub, I will say is by far, the absolute best in the entire City of Tacoma or Ruston, as far as hotels go Those jets melted away the tensionBut, let’s talk about the restaurant/bar The food was absolutely divine, atmosphere was euphoric and the view was majestic The staff (Katrina) was excellent Really high caliber people serving in a high quality environment Check out those pictures!Anyways, I could go on and on why I would give this one night stay the highest rating ever, but really you gotta experience this for yourselfBy the way, little extra tidbit, I met another customer that drove all the way from Seattle, just for the steak and eggs breakfast! Even after a twelve hour work shift! After my first bite of mine, I understoodThank you for rescuing my hope in hotels

Where do I start The front desk staff was nice when we checked in, that’s about it We were “walked over” to this hotel because the Marriott Downtown lost our reservation and was over booked

The Marriott told us AND the front desk at this overly priced hotel they would be covering our room and taxes etc This was confirmed at the front desk when we checked in The supervisor was advised by the Marriott to bill them for the charges I signed a paper and was told I would only have a $100 hold on my card for incidentals The girl while he was talking to the Marriott about them paying for it said “you guys are going to LOVE this room, the only thing we have left is a King Jacuzzi Suite”…Awesome, not necessary but we were just happy to have a place to stay after a long day of traveling, we probably would have taken a bunk bed in a hostile at that point we were so exhausted Fast forward to today when I find that this hotel has now charged me over EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THE ROOM!!! Not only did no one pay for our room as promised but they charged my card WITHOUT my authorization for $812…for one night The hotel we had booked at the Marriott was $330 When I called to speak to them about the charges the girl I spoke with very rudely said “I’ll send you to accounting please hold BYE”…Waited on hold for a few minutes then got immediately transferred to a voicemail and no one has bothered to call me back This is completely unethical and unprofessional Oh and we rolled in there with a 2019 Toyota Camry and got looked at like we were trash by the valet, quickly shooed out of their MANDATORY $32/night Valet as soon as 2 Lamborghini’s pulled up behind us Negative 1 star is I could…

Didn’t actually stay at the hotel, but came and visited family during a weekend stayThe rooms are very nice and there are some great views to be had The pool was nice, weather was perfect

We ordered some takeout from outside of the hotel and the restaurant forgot to put plates/utensils in Front desk staff was able to provide some plates and forks–And with amazing speed! We very much appreciated the effortThe restaurant in the lobby is great as well It was packed the weekend we were there (maybe a wedding nearby?) And everyone was professional and worked hard to get everyone’s orders in and fulfilledThe location? Perfect Right in the middle of the bustling Ruston Waterfront There’s a park, public market, movie theatre and a great selection of dining outside of the hotel Farmers market is right there too, not sure when it starts, but keep that in mind on Sundays, it’ll be pretty busy Oh, there’s also an ice cream shop right across the street, which is sure to be a popular on a nice day

Our stay was very pleasant! The staff were kind and attentive! Our room was comfortable, clean, and accommodating I am not sure if every room has this, the headboard displayed some of the local town in a painting style A unique touch! The continental hot breakfast was well put together! With all the amenities this hotel provides this surely made a great deal!

Overall a very good hotel The only reason I rated a little lower is that the neighborhood around the hotel is starting to get pretty run down There is a tent city directly on the other side of the fence for the hotel parking lot and a lot of activity there

I do want to note however, that we have not had any issues at all related to that, and the hotel staff is awesome and very accommodating They have a very secure parking lot and key requirements to even get in the building as well as night security guards as well That being said, I don’t like feeling like I’m in prison when I go to a hotel Hopefully the city will get the area cleaned up

Surprised with the size of the rooms & I loved the lighted mirror & window covers They allow as much natural light as you want or completely darken the room I through some sound motion lights around the head board of the bed & gave the room some color therapy

The kids loved it Also, the storages made it easy to keep the room looking clean while still having all your personal items at your fingertips & organized Overall I give this hotel ☆☆☆☆☆
