This hotel is very good and I highly recommend it The location is not the best, as there is nothing close to it other than a Wendy’s restaurant, and you’ll need a car to go anywhere as nothing is within walking distance The hotel staff is very nice and very quick to respond to any issues that may arise during your stay

Unlike some other hotel chains, this hotel does not try to force their way into your room to browse through your possessions and the cleaning staff is very nice tooIf you need a hotel in Central New Jersey and you’re mobile, this is definitely one that I would recommend

Very clean cozy and comfortable PHENOMENAL customer service

pool was amazing taking a dip in the pool which was so warm while barbecuing on the grill which was right directly at the pools eye The hotel itself is in a great location very quiet with it being in the cut which was the best part about the locationI will surely recommend as well as go stay there again

What a wonderful hotel! Looks newly renovated and incredibly clean I travel a lot for work and this will definitely be my hotel in the area when I return Their free hot breakfast was amazing! Besides usual pastries and bagels, they had eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and make your own hot waffle, which I saw the kids really enjoyed

The room was very comfortable to work in, had good WiFI during my whole stay in room or lobby I’m a hard critic of hotel bathrooms and this one was very good!Five stars from a frequent traveler!

We recently stayed at the hotel for our wedding reception and it was a wonderful experience The staff, especially the manager on site, was super accommodating and understanding, especially when we were running late and kept some of our vendors waiting They also offered us extra bottles of water knowing that we’ll be returning late and in need of that extra hydration plus they didn’t hesitate to offer us late check out! 🙂 The room was super clean and comfy! Since breakfast is usually served until 10AM, when I came down at 9:35AM the next morning, I expected to find scraps but to my surprise, the breakfast bar was fully stocked! That was definitely very much appreciated and the food was great! Overall, the experience was wonderful and I would definitely recommend staying at this location 🙂 Worth every penny!

The two main reasons for reserving this hotel are the pool and the cleanliness; they didn’t disappointThe hotel didn’t get this cleanliness rating for no reason All the way from the reception, through the lobby, to the room, you can sense a fresh smell and you’ll even notice the carpents looking brand new (they could well be) which is sometimes a turn off in other hotels

You then come into the room and smell a sweet scent, as though they’re preparing you for an experienceThe pool was also nice and warm and was pleasant The whole experience was great and would definitely recommendMy only suggestion, if any, would be to actually provide locks for the bathroom doors, as opposed to sliding doors that can’t be locked We had to get used to it quick, but having a family in a room would always be worrisome and we can definitely do without that worryOther than that, we enjoyed the stay very much

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t be disappointedRooms are clean and so is the lobby and hotel overall I’ve stayed at a number of hotels in the area and the Heldrich is one of the nicest One of the great things about this hotel is it’s surrounded by a lot of restaurants You can literally walk across the street and be at a number of fine dining restaurants within 40 feet of the hotel doors It simply makes life easier if you are visiting in the area Hotel management is very nice and accommodating as well

We were traveling from out of town and stayed here for a night Room was very big and spacious No complaints except that room service did not come unless I requested a clean

Also I stepped on a pin needle?! I let the cleaning room service know and she saw it her self She plainly said we clean the carpet when we vacuum but we don’t always guarantee that everything comes up! They are so lucky my 5 year old or crawling 11 month old did not get stuck with it…or else there would be a lawsuit pending! Manager was nice to offer us free breakfast but unfortunately our flight was leaving at 3am and couldn’t accept his offer Management was suppose to get back with us about the incident and still haven’t heard back I would not recommend this hotel not very professional at all

Bhaumik Parekh

We had the worst experience staying at this hotel! I would not recommend it to anybody as their staff service is worst than a motel We paid $500 for 2 nights that is way expensive than any 3-4 stars hotel considering that we will also get good service from the staff for the price that we paid but that was not the case We asked for microwave and they told us we will be charged $25 for it, first of all which good hotel charges for microwave

We were ready to pay for it at the end but turned out they did not even have one in their inventory! We asked for extra comforter as I was feeling too cold and their thermostat was also not working to set the temperature, they did not give extra comforter as well We kept waiting but staff did not provide anything The phone was also not working from room so every time for any room service we had to go all the way down ourselvesWorst place to stay , please do not waste your money here as we already wasted ours!

I planned a large group trip for a weekend tennis tournament at Princeton University Right off the bat we had some issues with our payment method and the front desk staff were extremely helpful The rooms were nice and clean, which is all I ever really ask for in a hotel

We also realized (while playing some music) that the rooms were almost completely soundproof which is a really nice touch The bar stayed open late and the staff there were really nice too The real highlight of this hotel I feel is the grounds though! We enjoyed 2 nights of lovely nighttime walks on the trails around the hotel (which were even decorated for Halloween!) Overall it was a wonderful stay and when we come back next year for the same tournament we hope to return

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would I’ve stayed in this hotel many times over the past 2 years Sadly, I misplaced my favorite and only pair of seeing glasses in this hotel last summer

Even worse, the package became lost in the mail and never arrived to me The amazing house keeping staff, front desk staff, front desk manager, and general manager all put in their absolute best efforts to help find my glasses, but unfortunately they became lost mail Although the situation was completely out of their hands and they were not at fault, they did not stop there The hotel helped me purchase new glasses to replaced my lost ones I have never experienced better customer service If you are comparing other hotels to this one, do not bother just stay here! Wonderful customer service, clean rooms, amazing stay!

Booked the Holiday Inn but was Re-routed to the CrowneI have no idea how this hotel is getting away with allowing people to book the neighboring Holiday Inn but then re-routing guests to the Crowne Plaza WITHOUT notifying guests until they see the sign in the window I find this practice deceptive and unprofessional I also find it despicable that IHG allows this practice to continue along with charging guests different rates

If a guest wanted to book the Holiday Inn but was re-routed to the Crowne Plaza why aren’t the rates the same??? I am thoroughly disappointed with IHG Corporate’s oversightIn terms of the hotel itself, it needs a good vacuuming and the bathroom area could have been cleaner as there were hairs in the shower and sink The sheets were super scratchy and uncomfortable There were a number of white stains above the bed and on the couch that made staying there feel icky The A/C worked great! The TV was slow to respond to commands but offered a lot of channelsFinal note I was not thanked for being an Ambassador and Platinum Elite

The general manager (who comped us a breakfast after the people in the room next door had been partying all night) and the restaurant staff seem to be the only people there who know what they are doingFire alarm went off on Thursday evening; guy at the front desk was walking around laughing and filming with his phone instead of directing guests to proper staging area or even checking if everyone was safe Fire brigade arrived after about 10 minutes and then left without any staff making an effort to inform guests it was safe to come back in

Other person behind front desk seemed supremely disinterested and only gave an explanation after being asked Apparently a malfunction was the reason, as it happened again 10 minutes after and in some rooms they were apparently unable to shut it off only after an hour No apologies whatsoever were offered, only a half-hearted offer to move us to another room, which makes absolutely zero difference if the alarm goes off in the entire hotel Note that we were traveling with a 2-year-old as well, who we had to take out of bed and rush out with several times Again, zero apologies offered for the inconvenience Alarm went off twice more the next day, apparently due to a test which was not announced beforehandGeneral lack of service: no responses to several messages we sent through Bookingcom app before arriving to ask for a baby bed Luckily they did have one, but had to take it up to the room myself, and saw several other people walking around with hotel luggage carts, which would suggest severe staffing shortageFood options in the restaurant were either not available or not prepared as advertised (vegetarian burger was not available, grain bowl was not prepared as listed on the menu), though I suspect this is more due to issues with supplies than with staffBathroom had black mold on the ceiling, housekeeping seemed very understaffed, did not always empty trash cans and never removed dirty glasses we took up from the bar on the first night Water leaking from the ceiling in the restaurant and lobby areasPoolside was full of discarded cups, trash and clothing when I wanted to take my daughter for a swim one morningDry-cleaning service is not available on the premises (I realize it is not explicitly stated that it is) but outsourced to a local dry-cleaners, which would take 3-4 days when we asked for it To their credit, they did provide an alternative after we insisted that that was too longAll in all most of the staff seemed either utterly disinterested in their jobs or in dire need of hospitality training

Made reservation online May 6Tried to add a night on May 10Was directed to the property to make the change

Called the property and spoke with front desk about changes Was told, on May 10, that the changes were made and we were good Got confirmation e-mail 4 days before trip and I see the dates are wrongCall the property and speak with a manager whoo explains to me that the employee who made my changes never actually did anything and now they are booked solid and can do nothing I asked if there was another property near that we could move to I was told that this is a franchise and not linked to other Marriots ???Call Marriot corporate and they too were helpless I then spent over 1k to change flightsThe Worst Customer Service

Spacious, clean and quiet rooms with comfortable bedding Otherwise, the facilities lack considerably As is the norm post-Covid, services are reduced to the bare minimum, while maintaining or increasing prices to offset the effects of the pandemic

Don’t expect restaurant/bar service, housekeeping or room service The gym was clean and well equipped, the indoor pool was heated to 50F too cold to spend more than 15 minutes in it

Abbie B

I would give them 10 stars if I could We arrived at 2:30 in the morning and we were treated like royalty The gentleman who checked us in was so polite and very helpful

The hotel is gorgeous it’s pictures do not do it justice, the atrium is so relaxing with water fall and coy fish The room was nice and warm for our arrival, it was very clean and comfortable, the best 4 nights sleep in a hotel ever I would highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go backAbigail Boyko, Mar 17-21, 2022

A solid hotel experience that fits directly into the Hyatt Regency brand pretty well The hotel is attached to the Carnegie Center and well located on US Route 1 Very easy to get to from my home in Philadelphia

Arrival and check in was really easy Parking is free, but uncovered Hotel had three weddings going on simultaneously and one of them was exceptionally large Not that the groups were loud or noisy, just not what I was expecting when I entered the property I was upgraded to the largest King bedroom available and it had plenty of space for my family, two year old toddler included Room was spacious and it felt recently updated The restaurant has a full dinner and breakfast service The dinner was really good but a bit pricy The breakfast was free to me as I have Hyatt status Breakfast was either an entree or a full buffet After breakfast, my son enjoyed the indoor pool which was really well covered from the massive amount of rain All in all this location made for a great staycation for our family and I will make sure to come back!

I am in the area for an extended time due to work I have stayed here and the Residence Inn just down the road This hotel has a much better breakfast as well as a Wed happy hour and a functioning pool

Staff are friendly and helpful Room is good and cleaned 3x a week Despite this the room was very dusty on all the walls which I wiped down with a washcloth one day There are only two washers and dryers- and 2 of the machines don’t show the time (RI has 4 each) Location is a little tricky to get to with limited amenities in walking distance (Residence Inn wins in that regard)

Erik Kluetz

I would certainly stay here again Our room was comfortable and quiet I heard no noise from Route 1 nor any of our neighbors

We made friends with the family across the hall and the hotel let us do a late checkout This place gets busy on the weekends so the breakfast was still pretty good but the weekday breakfast was even better including grilled veggies to eat with our eggsA couple minor complaints would be to offer non-pork options for families with dietary restrictions and also I don’t know if it legal in NJ, but we were greeted with the snell of marijuana outside the front main entry of the hotel and I noticed one guest amd his companion / spouse several times smoking a large blunt right outside the side door to the parking lot All of the staff were super helpful and hard working The fellow longer hair who helps out with maintenance and guest service I spoke with around midnight and he was back working the next morning I personally would avoid staying on the first floor it seems like it gets a ton of traffic either to and from the lobby or to the pool We stayed on the fourth floor with no issue, I need the exercise The suites on the far end x40 and x41 are much larger than a standard room but the bedroom is not isolated from the rest of the space but the rest room is

Pathetic experience! At 6:30 AM in the morning on 03/17/22, the hot water was not running in bathroom or sink, and when asked the front desk they mentioned that they would look in to it I decided to go for breakfast and shower later 1 hour later at breakfast, I heard everyone saying same thing, no hot water in the entire building! Guests had to take cold showers in 45 F weather!! Everyone looked super annoyed and grumpy

The front desk people did not understand the intensity of the problem and didn’t look that they are try to fix issues other than using diplomatic hotel type language 2 hrs later they still did not fix the problem and I had to leave the hotel without taking shower I overheard someone talking at the breakfast that this issue isn’t the first time I suggest to check in at a different place

The window of my room was facing Route 1 You could hear traffic, and it may interfere with one’s sleepThe room was comfortably furnished and cleaned daily

No complaints there Quality breakfast at the hotel was a pleasant surprise The restaurant next door serves good Indian fare for lunches and dinners (except Mondays) There are even complimentary PCs with a printer available to guestsThe hotel is located close to Lake Carnegie along which you can take a leisurely walk or jog, or simply watch fauna or Princeton crew rowing up and down the lake

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) deserves a huge shout out for being a great advocate for the guest and the property She is responsive, kind, empathetic and understands the meaning of customer service The excellent customer service she provided during our stay made it worth the trip and the stay

I wish I would have gotten her name! While no hotel is perfect, the service can make all the difference

Platinum Elite here We came here after a picnic and had driven from out of town We found this critter on top of the bed

So we went down and they told us there were no rooms They were friendly at the front desk Their solution was to try the Hilton next door We left town and let Marriott know, and they “shared” my comments with the hotel I’m so pleased I was able to aid in their quality improvement! These kind of poor Marriott experiences are what’ll lead to us trying the Hilton next door

None of the rooms were small, just some were bigger than others It’s around a 10 minute walk to the convention center It was worth it for the beach access and cleanliness of the hotel I can say that I really enjoyed my stay

A quaint hotel with wonderfully appointed rooms Close parking 🅿️ for 20$ a day The location for me was perfect

I could walk to great restaurants and historical places of interest Front desk support was good Concierge was another thing though I would have appreciated local insights to food choices or even reservation help where I could not have got in I waited for 20 minutes and finally gave up and went back to Yelp 😂 Definitely would stay here again

was going to have my wedding here but of course with covid it was cancelled the entire process leading up (which should have been my wedding day) was so easy, and seamless We worked with Amanda and she was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions! (I did have quite a bit)

The food tasting was AMAZING and the venue we did get to see it all dressed up since we went to a wedding event the year prior The grounds are gorgeous and we also rented the Laurie house It is so beautiful Even though we were canceled to covid they still offered us our anniversary stay which was beyond gracious and they were amazing to deal with If you have a chance to book with them for your special day, please do so

Austin Yoon

Just had an amazing wedding there this past Sunday night The hotel was super accommodating to everyone there, the staff was wonderful and very helpful, and overall atmosphere they provided was amazing A special shout out to Larissa for making everything come together, she didn’t have to but she busted her butt trying to make everything perfect for us

We TRUELY appreciate everyone who was there and are so thankful to have chosen this location who welcomed us with open arms 10/10 recommend solely on the fact that this group of people who make this hotel run are true hero’s Thank you

Jesse Na

If you are considering getting married here, Larissa will make sure you have your dream wedding Despite having another wedding the day before ours, Larissa made sure to share her precious time for all my questions and was very responsive about my concerns The day of the wedding, it was clear how hard Larissa was working as she personally made sure all the decor was displayed correctly and treated our rentals like her own by keeping them safe

The hotel itself is also a beautiful venue in a secluded area with flowers in full bloom and a bridge that was perfect for first look photos The hotel also has a food tasting that you should attend where they serve appetizers, entrees, and the cake The eggplant caponata with whipped ricotta and basil was so delicious it was added to cocktail hour The entrees tasted even better than the tasting the day of the wedding and overall I could not have been more please in how the wedding turned out If you are considering having a wedding here you should ask for Larissa!

I popped in for a quick overnight The hotel pricing (double queen) on a Sunday night was very affordable The hotel itself is a bit older, but recent upgrades keep amenities modern

You can tell from the carpet in the hallways and wear spots on doors, yet the bathrooms in the rooms are much newerThe rooms and beds were comfortable The hotel is away/offset from any major roads, so the stay was quiet from any outside disturbancesThe breakfast fare (as identified in other reviews) is average for $17/person: the “hot” food in the buffet was warm; the fruit was fresh crisp; the breads and muffins were freshAll of this was packaged in the standard DoubleTree charm, including helpful staff and the signature cookies

peanutavalon

Pretty good First impression was finding a hair in the mini fridge and the sink Not that big of a deal

Room was fine for my wife and two sons The following day we experienced an unruly mob of guests running through the hallways, smoking weed in the stairwell, pulling fire alarms and using fire extinguishers for fun Fire alarm went off in the entire hotel and had to evacuate for at least an hour Very inconvenient and inconsiderate to all guests Thankfully they were kicked out and hopefully will never returnThe staff was very friendly upon arriving The restaurant was also very nice to have on the premises Great food and staff

Quiana Jackson

Room was about $200 which I didn’t mind spending for my 2 kids because I was told breakfast was included and they had a pool! Got to the room and there is no microwave in the so called suite to warm food up The separate room was so little it looks like a bed inside a closet! The pull out sofa bed was not made and had a balled up sheet inside of it! The pool area has bugs! Many bugs! There were no towels available in the pool area in the afternoon/evening when the kids wanted to swim or the next morning! Had to bring the towels from the room! Took the kids to the breakfast area and was stopped and advised that breakfast wasn’t included and I needed to pay an additional $1999 per person including for the kids! Went to the desk where I advised that I was told on more than one occasion that breakfast was included with my price , but was basically told it didn’t matter and that I wasn’t a gold member to get the breakfast! I felt as though I was brushed off

I WILL NEVER COME TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN? What did I pay $200 for? A little room! I will make sure to let my friends and family know to NEVER stay at double tree!

Some may call it dated, I call it poorly maintained and trashy The curtains were dingy and the room darkening curtains were dry rotted and showed light through The bathroom light in the shower was a weird alien and dim yellow color

Let’s not forget the 30 yr old rusty refrigerator in the room (see photo) A total embarrassment, my college room in the 70s was in better shape In my entire adult life i have never been in a hotel with a rusty refrigerator Welcome to the Third World hotel If visiting the area do yourself a favor and stay away from this place

Nothing has gone right about this hotel Upon check-in, I was informed that they would place a $100 hold on my account for the duration of my stay, and the rest would be charged at the end of stay Seemed okay, though I wasn’t informed of this policy until check in

The guy at the front desk mentioned it used to be $25 hold, but they changed it to $100 a couple of weeks ago I came to find out as I checked my bank account that they charged me for the full amount of my stay, plus the extra $100 I can already tell from my interaction with the guy at the front desk that it’s gonna be very difficult to get any money back I am also an IHG member, but that means literally nothing at this hotel Strange, since other places recognize and acknowledge that instantlyBeyond all that, the bed feels like sleeping on a slab of concrete The curtains are either eaten up by moths or someone took a knife to them I would recommend sleeping in a box on the corner of the street before this hotel!

This hotel is a joke, don’t waste your money Breakfast buffet is hilarious it’s so empty Manager on duty on July 4th am was so rude

Another day we asked for extra pillow, firstly gave a dirty one then gave one with clean cover but was made of broken up sponge or something Asked for extra blanketsand got told they had none Asked for extra towel and told they had run out but they were doing laundry so would bring them later Definitely never coming back here

Outstanding hotel Great location Breakfast was great and the staff is top notch

The rooms are lovely and plenty big Very neat and clean, but these rooms DO need better lighting In-room safes would be a plus as well Other than those minor things, I would absolutely stay here again if my travels bring me to this area in the future

Only stayed one night, really nice Hotel, right near six flags and many restaurants, room was clean Pool was great, many other dun amenities like mini golf and other games One issue we had was we were on the 4th floor and the window would not lock, with 2 young kids was certainly a concern but we reported to management and they were concerned and said they would address

Overall great stay

CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENT! I purchased a room for my parents for 2 nights for my moms birthday They had a great time Very nice hotel

HOWEVER, I was charged for things that my parents never did I called the hotel and the response was pretty much oh ok, we’ll give that back to you They did give it back but thank God I check my statement on a regular or I wouldn’t have known So I’m not saying they do this on purpose hoping that people don’t check, maybe they do, maybe they don’t What I’m saying is, if you decide to stay here, check you bank statement and make sure they did not charge you for some extra stuff

HOTEL IS CLOSED If you book your stay here (because you still can, despite it being closed!), you’ll arrive at the empty hotel to be greeted by a sign sending you to the Crowne Plaza next doorAs a disabled person, I spend hours searching hotels’ reviews before booking in case there are any accessibility issues (smells, pet odor, mold, etc) that can impact my medical condition— and I’m absolutely floored that there was no mention ANYWHERE by the hotel while we were booking or when calling the lobby that we’d be sent to an entirely different hotel

Outrageous

Shocking!!! I booked at the hotel only to arrive and a sign to be on the door saying the hotel is closed for renovations No call No email

No prior notice at all Given the lack of Ubers, I think had to run, in the rain, along a freeway, to their sister hotel (Crowne) where apparently my reservation had been moved to (according to the sign on the door) Wedding suit drenched Had to dodge cars on a freeway and absolutely no recourse from IHG as I tried to rectify the situation Guess I will be staying at another hotel chain going forward

Suite 234: the smell is absolutely unbearable! We reported the issue at the front desk, cleaning crew came and cleaned and sprayed the room It smelled good for five minutes, then it went back to old carpet smell! For the price we paid per night, this was absolutely UNaceptable! We understand this could be a long term rental for some travelers, they might have cooked, or had an animal with them, so please, MAINTAIN THE CARPETS! The smell is terrible!

WATCH YOUR PETS AND YOUR CHILDREN I’m pretty annoyed We’re staying here for 6 months with a young dog, and things have been pretty good until this point

My biggest complaints have been that the couch is extraordinarily saggy and the TV in the bedroom can only play Netflix for about 10 minutes at a time But the past week our dog has been licking his paws, and I think today we figured out why I found a flag in the lawn which said “Pesticide treated area” A week ago a landscaping crew was here, spreading mulch and giving things a trim This is supposed to be a pet-friendly hotel They posed one tiny flag ONE Around the entire hotel! I walked around today and checked We’ve been having him romp and play in poison for a week! He’s been licking his feet because they’ve been so irritated by the chemicals, so I’m sure he’s ingested some of them It would have been nice if they had given more warning than one tiny flag to warn us of the hazard

Stayed in the Princeton Marriott for two nights in December It’s our ‘go to’ stop for trips up and down the east coast Isolated and quiet, great sleep quality

Very close to a major college town and the great restaurants and other attractions that come with that We enjoy their bar and restaurant While the menu is not that large, the food was well prepared and delicious Enthusiastically recommended!

This hotel and location are great for my business trips Please, please, please add more bikes to the fitness area There are 4 treadmills, 3 ellipticals and only 1 bike and 1 recumbent bike

Every morning there was at most 1 person on a treadmill and elliptical and multiple people waiting to use the bike Please also consider adding a bike from one of the more popular companies like Echelon The bike will not go to waste

Richard Urquhart

A quiet Marriott with plenty of easy parking Disappointed at a lack of upgrade as a gold elite member despite the hotel being quiet The room service crew did a good job but we’re very loud chatting from very early in the morning

Did not help with the jet lag A bit remote so you will need a car or uber to get to any other options to eat
