Could not believe it was a 2 star! Rooms were clean, lovely interiors, bathroom was exceptionally designed Staff was friendly Beds were comfortable and TV had YouTube and smart features

I’m surprised it’s rated a 2 star hotel, the rooms were amazing and I’ve stayed in 3 star hotels that weren’t even close to the experience I had over here Definitely will come again!

lowell smoger

Parking lot entrance was not super obvious but GPS got me here just fine Service by the employees was superb Room 201 was clean and comfortable

AC unit was unacceptably loud Breakfast included waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, milk, juice, cantaloupe, bagels, toast, and coffeeI wish they would commit to reducing their food waste by transitioning to made-to-order meals on low traffic daysI wish they would use cleanable or compostable utensils

Perfectly Imperfect

Pool was Clean!! They provided pool towels as well and had bathrooms right where you come inside from the pool Placed conveniently! Livy and breakfast was clean! Rooms were clean! Rooms were actually pretty quiet Only complaint is asked for extra pillows and soap ect didn’t get that

But that’s okay it’s just a preferred option I would Suggest bringing your own or asking for trash bags for the trash cans they don’t provide them anymoreRoom did smell musty But wasn’t to bad Think it was probably due to someone’s wet clothes that were probably there before they cleaned the room or somethingTowels were clean just messy folding don’t look like they put effort into itLoved that I could check in early Didn’t seem to be passed along though as I spoke with front desk they said it was early It when I spoke up and let them know I already spoke with someone about our arrival she was nice about the miss understandingThey do provide security Just someone who sits out front during the night hours to watch who is coming and goingHotel sits behind a sonic with a play ground It is convenient if you have kiddos But do be aware of surroundings The hotel next to this one is divided by a fence but you can tell it’s not as nice and the surrounding on the other side aren’t as greatThis hotel does have cameras That made me feel betterHowever would suggest maybe an extra person on night duty for Security For safety reasonsOver all good place to stay Clean rooms! Comfy beds! Clean restroom! Showers looked remodeledWould come back with my family!

If you have kids under 40” skip this place and check into the Great Wolf I attended a conference but kids were too small for slides One person maximum going down slides and 300# weight limit(was no where near limit)

Had a three year old that loves slides but he wouldn’t go down by himself like you can at Great Wolf Reception/Staff was not very knowledgeable about water park kept referencing the map Guidelines do not list a one at a time rule Tons of cute things in hotel for kids but posted notes that they are for pictures only, no climbing/touching Two kid meals on menu Again had to reference website for more options Indoor pool is part of a spa and people getting spa stuff done groan on kids actually playing Outdoor pool is hot Weather was over a hundred Nothing inside hotel was for kids except a tiny place you could paint a small cheap canvas or put something together Great wolf is literally next door Valet is high if you don’t use it I will definitely stay at Great Wolf next time and use valet to park Three hour wait on dinner was insane I wish I had known

Glenda Delling

Absolutely fantastic! Everyone was super nice and helpful So many things to do! The shuttles to see the shows were great and the drivers were super cool! My only complaint is that we did not get our room cleaned the last two days we were there and our coffee supplies had run out I called the front desk and they delivered more coffee after about a 30 minute wait

I really need my coffee in the morning! I guess I should have called the night before but I was too exhausted from all the fun!

NeverMask Beauty

Stayed here and found our room ready early, which was quite nice Room was clean overall with comfortable & fluffy beds (2-queens), plenty of towels, high pressure shower and not far from elevator Service is super friendly too, here! The hotel is beautiful all over with it’s spacious gardens, water fountains, coffee shops and more

Four tickets for their water park were included which was awesome great water park with slides, zip lining, splash pad and more! I highly recommend it, even if it’s just for a nice walk around the hotel and having a refreshing cup of coffee with a loved one! 🌺🍃

This is a really nice resort and a great place for families The rooms are nice and clean and you have plenty of room The facilities around the resort are excellent

The place is beautiful and you can tell they put a lot of work into building and maintaining the resort There are restaurants, five pools, and a nice area for taking a long nature hike The location is really good if you want to get out of the city It’s in the hill country and overlooks the city and is close and convenient to a couple of big theme parks The service is pretty good although we did have some questions with room service, as our order didn’t come as ordered and even when they brought up other parts of the order it was still missing I played golf here on another visit and the course is beautiful A must play in San Antonio La Cantera is a resort and you will pay resort fees and the rooms are expensive Having said that, you’re getting an amazing experience at a beautiful resort

Heather Haglund

We had a wonderful time here with our family last weekend The resort is beautiful and the amenities were to notch The staff was very helpful across the board

We loved the pool area with so many options from kids pool to adult only pool All of the restaurants were delicious, especially the mid day ice cream break! It’s hard to believe you are right in the middle of a major city while you are at La Cantera- it truly is a peaceful getaway Looking forward to our next stay!

Ashekia Pinckney

The resort is beautiful to look at It definitely has all the things you would want at a resort except a comfortable bed!! Omg, I have never had worst sleep in a hotel

The beds and linen felt like something from a display room The mattress was hard with no cushion or support The linen is thin and the thread count is non existent The staff was very nice and prompt and provided all the other amenities we requested Our roomAnd other areas of the hotel was very clean I would just believe that the bedding would be more comfortable in such a beautiful place

The resort is absolutely beautiful and very family friendly Staff members were very friendly and attentive I’m not giving the full 5 stars because the cleanliness was not what I’d expect from a 5 star resort

Our hotel room had pubic hairs, scalp hairs, dust, and urine around the base of the toilet and splotches of water and likely some sort of soap in the shower It had clearly not been well-cleaned, if at all In addition, the very back pool was quite dirty I can deal with leaves and some debris at an outdoor pool, but this had a lot of built-up leaves and debris in the deep end of the pool, like DAYS worth Staff were actively cleaning the lazy river, but no attention was given to the rear pool near the sand feature I’m not speaking of sand (there was that too, but that’s expected when there’s sand nearby), this debris was dark in color and very built-up It could have easily been scooped up and would have been much more appealing

Mark Anderson

This is a top notch place for a family getaway that we’ve enjoyed a number of timesLots to do with a fantastic water park, game rooms, excellent fitness center, daily planned activities for the young ones, and lots and lots of grounds to explore The staff is super friendly and attentive as well

It could definitely use more dining choices so be prepared to order in or make a quick local jaunt when the hotel is full This spring break week they were doing in-room dining for an only $5 flat service charge which was unexpected but awesome! We will be back again and again

Jazmin Juarez

This was one of the best hotel resorts I’ve visited in the states so far The staff were completely friendly and hard working Made me feel at home and the water park is fun for the whole family

Love the restaurants and variety and the rooms were beautiful and roomy The conference area was great and spacious and beautifully decorated I definitely recommend this place for business or a pleasure travel

This is a very nice hotel with great amenities The restaurants have really good food and a wide selection The rooms are very modern and nice with lots of room to spread out

The location of the hotel is wonderful since there are multiple restaurants within walking distance For an Ambassador Elite member the staff, especially Kevin, made me feel right at home I’m definitely staying here again

Peter Hatchell

There is no barrier between the shower and the bathroom at large; consequently, showers inundate the ENTIRE bathroom with water Additionally, the lights in the rooms are annoying They are overly modern, hard to operate, and worst of all, automatically shut off WHILE YOU ARE USING THEM

This hotel is very nice but aspects of it push modernity to the point that they are wildly inconvenient to use I am so glad that I only have to deal with these things for two nights Any more would be maddeningBeds are nice Gym is nice Everything is crazy overpriced thoughOh and you cannot access the stairs? What are we supposed to do in the event of a fire? What if I don’t want to go on a crowded elevator during a pandemic? This is not conducive to good health, safety, or a pleasant hotel experience Very unpleasant I would much rather use stairs than an elevator at any given point The stairs are what knock this down from a three star to a two star review

Andrew T

Honestly, the best treatment I have ever received from a Marriott property This hotel is not just amazingly clean and modern, but every single employee I interacted with was incredible I stayed at this hotel years back when it first opened and it was wonderful then

They have not lost their touch This is rated a 4-Star hotel, but 5-Star treatment Rooms are immaculate, beautiful hotel, hallways nice and clean, bathrooms are perfect, views are amazing and the location is the best around

Easily accommodated our big group with short notice It’s close enough to the church which is good Complimentary breakfast was included which had enough variety for everyone

The suite was large and clean They are also wheel chair accessible A down sides was that, the hair dryer kept shorting out and some of the others in the others rooms were not even working Overall though we had a good experience

Christi Webb

I wanted to self-checkin with a digital key I had to go to the front desk for them to see my ID The man at the front desk that helped me was very nice

When I tried to use the digital key to open exterior doors, it did not work, and I had to walk to the front to get inThe room was a little out dated but not bad Turned on the TV and there was a line through the TV so it was hard to watch Woke up in the middle of the night to pee and a roach was in the bathroomIn the morning, I told the staff at the front desk about the TV They stared at me, waited a few seconds, then said “I’m sorry” I said you probably want to write it down so I don’t get charged or so you can put a new one in the room They said, “Oh, that’s a good idea” I then told them about the roach Same thing they looked at me for a few seconds then said “I’m sorry” Basically they did not care nor were they going to do anything about thisWish I could say it was a 42 star experience but it was not Would not stay here again

Tim Murphy

Beware of room 126 suite, with the volume on the TV you must get up out of bed and try to find the right button to turn it up The A/C was loud, the bed has full size pillows on a king bed, and they only give you two towels that is only enough for one girl If you want to stay at a Hampton go to Weslaco down the road

The only reason it got 2 stars is because the bed is comfortable

Unfortunately the front hotel rooms are not really cold and my A/C did not work , I called front desk but they only offered a fan, never to move my room until the 3rd day of sleeping in the hot room, I had to remind them to send someone to fix the A/C on the second day, they came but could not fix On the third day they moved me to the larger hotel in the rear and that room was nicer and the A/C worked Would have been nice to be moved as soon as I arrived

Over all the hotel resort is nice The water park is nice And Yes I am a diamond member so they could have been moved sooner Probably wouldn’t stay there again, next time I’ll chose a different hotel since we travel for work often

john Tolbert

I stayed here for a convention The convention itself was good However, the hotel is a large facility that is very dark and cavernous

I stayed for 2 nights and never had any warm water for a shower and the staff was not overly helpful or friendly In fact, housekeeping never cleaned my room even after multiple requests For the money, I would recommend staying somewhere else

Nic Mac

The hotel lobby is quite lovely A lot of beautiful sculptures and greenery Some tranquil sitting areas surrounded by flowing water and beautiful plants

A very vibrant, beautiful light sculpture hangs from the ceiling illuminating the dark hallways on the way to the rooms Once inside the room however, leaves something less than to be desired I’ve seen and slept in way more beautiful and comfortable rooms at 25 star hotels for a fraction of the cost I had an exhausting day upon my check in, and I did so around midnight- there was a long, slow line with maybe 2 or 3 employees working to get everyone checked in and on their way One thing that I thoroughly do not agree with, and believe that for the amount of money I’m paying to stay at this hotel, the least they could provide is free parking for paying guests I paid $25 for 8 hours of parking In my absolute honest opinion, unless you’re here to vacation at their summer water resort, take your money elsewhere

We were very happy with our service, starting with our arrival The young men operating the velvet service, to the young man and woman that actually helped us with all our luggage They took everything in for us, plus offered to take everything up to our rooms

Our rooms were clean, perfect size for each of our families, and had very comfortable beds Even though they were in the process of a full remodeling, they made everything as pleasant as possible Nicole went above and beyond to help us with a few things that were important to us and our vacation She is a very giving and helpful part of the Tremont House We enjoyed our stay Thank you

Manuel Gonzaga

We stayed here on a whim based on pictures and location Everything went as well as could be expected Check-in and valet were fast and effortless and they easily accommodated any questions and requests we had

The atrium and downstairs bar are gorgeous and the breakfast we had on the morning we checked out was wonderfulThe room was clean and although they were working on renovations at the time it didn’t affect our stay at all besides taking a different entrance into the lobby The location was perfect for us because although we like going to the beach (which is a short ride away anyway) The Strand is right around the corner so there was no shortage of nightlife We had a very pleasant stay and I look forward to the next time I can plan a trip down there

Paul Evans

We got of our cruise and spent a couple of days exploring Galveston When we arrived we were a little early and instead of having us wait for our room they upgraded us a stay in their new quarters Great spot

But you can tell it was just refurbished some minor things like the hinges needed to be tightened on the doors But over all a fantastic stay in a beautiful hotel With friendly helpful staff Lora the valet was fast and courteous when we checked out getting our car and bags ready The superstar was Ruthie She was our star every day Like she was almost always working :p For some one small in stature she sure handled our over packed extremely heavy luggage with ease and care When we approached the doors she had them open and in hand And not a blink and our car was there! Great job overall great job Ruthie

My husband and I stayed at Valencia during the March 2022 High School boys basketball tournament We were extremely pleased with the survive that was provided at Hotel ValenciaValet parking is an additional price but public parking is available off-property

Valet parking is somewhat pricey but since it is an option and valet workers are wonderful, we took advantageRooms were nice and for the most part, up to date Everything worked fine in the room except for the television losing connection We were rarely in the room so it wasn’t a big deal, but considering the price it was oddRoom cleaning for multiple nights is an option, but does not happen daily They do however change towels daily if staying multiple nightsWe left a little later on day 2 and never got new towels, however We called downstairs and towels were delivered promptly Customer service is great herePhotos on website and third-party booking companies were up to date and near identical to what the rooms looked like

Sophie Akers

Our stay was absolutely amazing!!! Gorgeous Hotel! The staff and Manager Jacob were Excellent and very professional The hotel is right at the Riverwalk with easy access to restaurants and fun things to do The rooms were very clean, spacious, and had super comfortable beds

We will definitely come back We look forward for our next visit to San Antonio 🙂

Mrs. Gamble

This hotel is nice It’s quaint and very stylish for the age that it is Check in was fine

Pool is refreshing and a decent size That being said, our biggest concern was that our TV didn’t work in the hotel room When we called someone to come look/fix it NO ONE came We waited 40 minutes until we called the front desk to cancel the service since it was late at night When we informed the front desk at checkout about the issue all we received was a ‘sorry’

Mary Endress

The pool was great The pool beverage attendant was awesome as she helped out with a cigar smoker whose cigar was impeding my ability to breathe The check in was not so good as my husband was informed that the third party had over booked and we couldn’t have the room he booked

They put us in a room which was not ready for guests as the door doesn’t stay closed when you leave the room This is a safety issue When leaving, we had to continually slam the door maybe 10 times for it to catch and remain closed The manager spoke condescendingly to my husband and indicated we were lucky to get a room since he booked on a third party site To me guests should be secure in their rooms no matter how you book your stay So pool and restaurant service great Restaurant lunch food and pool food is great The dinner food was not so good, but the hotel had 2 wedding receptions at the same time I have been coming to this hotel for many years I was very disappointed this time with management hiding behind renovation excuses

N K

Although the hotel is under renovation, we still had a really fantastic time I don’t believe that alone is reason to give them less stars Staff was very friendly and requests were simple to make, and were also tended to

The changes are beautiful Construction workers are going at it tirelessly so I imagine it could be done in a couple of months Comfortable bed, clean sheets, plenty of towels and amenities The pool and hot tub were fantastic, towels were regularly restocked and the other guests were not a bother to share space with Bicycle rentals were easy and enjoyable They could update the bikes but still, no complaints here!

Save yourself the headache and book at a modern hotel nearby The rooms are very small We have a king bed at home and the king bed at this hotel must have been half the size

You can hear EVERYTHING going on outside of your room Everyone in the hall, two rooms down you could hear people flushing their toilets, taking a shower, talking, using the sink You could hear people at street level walking by and talking (we were on the third floor) You will absolutely not sleep well at this hotelIf you’re interested in its history just walk around the lobby and then go to a modern hotelThey charged us $40 for the valet The valet was slow both when we got there and when we checked outThey gave us tickets for complimentary drinks When we tried to use them the bartender told us the coupons would not cover a whole drinkThe only thing this place has going for it is its location

Anne Margaret White

What a gorgeous hotel! We stopped by to admire the historic part and enjoyed the whole place Really wanted to have a drink at the historic bar, but got there a bit too early Instead we strolled the property and were delighted with the interior balconies, columns, and marble flooring beneath the skylight

Gorgeous hotel Just beside The Alamo, it’s worth a stop!

Magen Desnoyers

We stayed at the Menger Hotel for a conference The property is beautiful and walkable to everything we wanted to do while in San Antonio The most impressive part of our stay was the staff

I could not get over the level of service and hospitality each staff member showed us Marcia, Zara, Eli, Simon and anyone else we ran into during our stay met us with a smile and ready to help at every turn This is a beautiful historic hotel and we look forward to many more visits

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel All of the staff gave us excellent care and service but I want to specifically mention the entire valet service – these young men were professional, courteous, and consistent with excellent service; and the staff member who greeted us each morning as we entered breakfast in the ballroom was a delight Her genuine smile and gracious greetings were a beautiful way to start the morning

As was the delicious breakfast and delicious coffee served in the ballroom It is a beautiful hotel with clean and comfortable accommodations Highly recommend!

Cool ambiance in the heart of Dallas sports Location was epic! Clean and friendly staff but also very strict about bringing alcohol in My roommate tried to bring in a six pack to enjoy and they made him put it back in his car

Restaurants were classy and came with a cost Bourbon selection was good Pool area was 10/10 except service was lacking Overall I definitely recommend this place

If you are looking for a bargain, this isn’t the place for youWe stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday when there weren’t any sporting or entertainment events going on The hotel is very clean, the staff pleasant, our room faced the entertainment area (which I liked) and our floor had a baseball theme which was appropriate

It’s an easy walk to AT&T and Globe life stadiums It would be a blast to stay on game day when all the restaurants and bars are open but just know that it will be crowded and loud and you may not be able to sleep if you are facing the restaurant side or are on one of the lower floorsOn non-game days not all the restaurants in Texas Live! are open Overall, it’s just bar food, the service wasn’t the best and the food was meh The next day we ate at the hotel bar; the bartender was efficient and friendly, the food came out exactly right and the atmosphere and view was pleasantThey have a coffee shop in the lobby which serves breakfast, lunch and beautiful desserts; we did not partake either morning as the line to order was short but the person behind the counter had to take the order, ring you up & then prepare the beverage and food, one order at a timeThe property, landscaping and patio areas are well kept and provide a perfect setting for an evening stroll There were couples, singles and families walking around and it felt very safeThey have hook ups for electric cars in the parking garage across the street We parked our own car and walked across the street to the hotel, it was easy but we pack light

We stayed at Hotel Emma in early April It was by far our favorite hotel on our two week tour of Texas The architecture is stunning

Amazing attention to detail and preservation Everyone we encountered was very friendly and efficient The room was great We had a balcony with comfy furniture Loved the tile in the bathroom We took advantage of the hotel’s river tour and very much enjoyed it Some might say it’s not super close to the action, but we actually appreciated not being in the thick of things

Honestly The best hotel I have stayed in My husband stayed for two nights after our wedding and we were so impressed

The staff is top notch and accommodating We had the king room with the balcony overlooking the river walk What a treat The beds are so comfortable The shower is large and has a bench I was craving biscuits and though not usually on the menu- it was a scratch-made for me with preserves All of the staff that assisted us seemed genuine Felt like visiting family you didn’t know you had Thanks Hotel Emma

The customer service here is excellent Everyone from the river staff to the lobby and restaurants and the valet was super friendly and helpful Troy at the valet was very nice and remembered us as he was helping with our car and luggage

The kids loved all the hotel activities throughout the day but mostly loved the lazy river My only recommendation would be to have an inner tube for large adults The ones there will only support someone up to 180 lbs, any more and you’re capsizing Can’t wait to go back!! Thanks for a great stay

Heather Sides

The property was beautiful We stayed in one of the patio rooms and it was so relaxing nestled under the great oak trees The service at the golf shop was great and they took care of us so well

From storing our bags and getting them onto the cart, to the well-manicured course and greens, and the friendly staff who made playing here a wonderful experienceAnd a special thanks to the staff who made our dining experience the best The food was great, particularly the fajita dinner on Sunday Big thanks to Janie and TJ who made sure we had everything we needed Our drinks were never empty and the plates were cleared the moment we finished It was hard to believe we were at a buffet And Janie made us feel like old friends But after 24 years at the Hyatt, she just knows how to do that We hope to see you all again next time!

Staff was nice! Rooms & restaurants were great! The lazy river was great except there was not enough chairs or tubes for everyone The next morning we got there early and realized that people stacked all their tubes and placed their stuff on their chairs before they go eat breakfast We ended up finding a spot and some extra tubes

So, get there early! They have a Starbucks and a general store there, I bought little blowup tubes for the kids and the young boy at the pool area went to blow them up for me That was great! Overall, it was a fun weekend!

We had the most wonderful time celebrating a birthday here Ricky the porter and Chris the concierge are both so sweet and helpful They had the most upbeat welcoming energy

We opted for a massage at the spa and Jasmyn gave me the best massage I’ve ever had Even the assets protection man we ran into in the elevator asked what they could do better This entire team strives for excellence and succeeds Already planning a return visit Was sad to leave

Patrick Caffey

Hotel was very nice Rooftop pool was great nice to have drinks close by with the roof top cafe The food was great up there

Spa was very nice and pleasant would definitely recommend going thereThe rooms tho were just ok I thought for the price it would be a little nicer A/C wasn’t cold, the ceiling fan worked half the time, and the button on the jacuzzi tub was missing

Jodi Wishart

I had 2 rooms – king river walk view and double non view The hotel needs some love, but the staff make up for it They are wonderful people! This is a busier part of the river walk but a short walk to the quiet areas

The 800 reservation line does match the guest service of the hotel If you have any questions, call the hotel directlyThe character of the hotel was a factor in choosing it And character takes time and people to keep up It needs more love and care and we are all stretched thin It was clean – tattered but clean I know the “details” of most things have been sacrificed in our collective mess of the last few years
