About average for a Hampton, which still means it’s a very good hotel The hotel is approaching 20 years old and needs renovation, but it’s still mostly clean and in good shape although shower pressure wasn’t great We had to move rooms due to an awful vibration in the floor (maybe elevator equipment) and they upgraded us to a very spacious studio suite which I’d highly recommend

The pool was nice (no whirlpool) and breakfast was as expected Service was friendly but staff always seemed to be in the back office Overall recommended and we will be back

Cassie Brooks

Everything was very clean, processes were simple and expedient, service was very attentive, good breakfast, and we were very comfortable Our kids used the indoor pool and found plenty of clean towels Breakfast was well-stocked and had a variety of hot and cold offerings

Coffee and hot water were always available, and all staff were friendly and hard-working

This hotel is great Staff is very friendly My family and I loved the lobby it was very accommodating and we all felt comfortable while visiting

Probably best the best lobby I’ve seen in a hotel at this price range Looks are deceiving when we first pulled up the exterior does not look nearly as nice as the interior Will definitely stay here again when needing a hotel in the area Also very clean… we will not stay at hotels that aren’t clean Overall very happy with our stay

Rich Hmself

Overall it wasn’t too bad With it being pet friendly you can certainly tell that they haven’t fixed any furniture destroyed by pets The bed had what look like pee stains so they just flipped the mattress over, the wife and me layer extra towels down to sleep

The other complaint I have is I was staying here the day before a wedding and when I went to iron my shirt the iron has never been cleaned so it stained my shirtSo to summarize I’d say yeah stay here if you need something cheap and quick but don’t expect too much as it’s clear they are overlooking certain aspect of cleaning

Michael McCrory

Lloyd is a perfect example of excellent hospitality From check in to check out he was one of the best I have dealt with in the hotel industry I have traveled the world and it is such a pleasure to meet such a gentleman that takes pride in his job

He is an asset to Courtyard Marriott Look forward to seeing him and staying at the Marriott in August for a week when I am back in the area for work

Thank you for an amazing experience! It’s a gorgeous location, makes you feel that you’re in Italy! I wish I lived closer The sangria white and red and peach drinks are amazing, delicious! We will be back many times in the future and my friend is thinking of hosting a fundraising event there in the future Thank you for also donating an amazing tour and experience for my friend’s fundraising event

My husband and I spent a weekend at the bed and breakfast for our anniversary Everything about the stay was amazing We don’t live far from the winery and frequent it often, but we have 3 young children that we’ve never left overnight

This was the perfect “destination” The room was impeccably clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated We stayed in the American Suite The staff was so friendly and accommodating They made us feel like we were vacationing (rather than staying 20 minutes from home!) Prior to checking in our room, we did a Founder’s Room experience Celeste made sure we got the most from our tasting, and helped us choose wine we’d truly enjoy I cannot recommend Lynfred enough We had the best weekend and anniversary thanks to Lynfred

John Lambert

Good wine and cool historic building, but no longer allow kids on premises at all or at any events Used to be a good place for families to visit, but now totally unwelcoming We have tasted at numerous wineries around the country, but that’s the first time we have ever encountered that

Really disappointing We were planning on joining the wine club but didn’t since we wouldn’t be allowed at any events or tastings

OUR CAR WAS VANDALIZED! I was a guest at the Hyatt Regency in Lisle, Illinois June 9-12 I was in town for my stepdaughter’s wedding, down the road at the Morton Arboretum We had an adjoining room for the night of June 10 for the bride

While we were there, many things were less than desirable, but the worst occurred on my final night there On Saturday night, June 11, I parked my other daughters’ car in the Hyatt parking lot I parked it in the well lit lot, close to the building, and thought it was a very safe spot The next morning, the catalytic converter had been stolen and the front hood was damaged When I reported it to hotel staff, they said they had no liability and could not help me I was shocked at their complete disregard and lack of concern, they also did not seem a bit surprised I would have hoped for some empathy, contact information for the police, somethingI guess that I should not have been too surprised though as the whole time I was there, the staff seemed unconcerned Even though the adjoining room was vacant on June 9, (we asked because we thought about getting it early), it was not cleaned and available until 4:30 pm June 10 We told them it was for a bridal party, with an early morning wedding the next day, but that did not seem to matterWe also witnessed other guests arriving after 4 and still not having their room ready They were offered drinks at the bar, but many needed their rooms Then we witnessed damage to the number board in one elevator, causing some floors to be inaccessible The other worst thing we saw was when some guests got stuck in the other elevator and were ringing the bell for some time They got out, but then that elevator was shut down for a dayAll in all, I will never stay there again, and fear to stay at any Hyatt

At first glance this hotel looks like it will be a great stay The lobby is grand, clean and spacious However, the rooms do not match this vibe & does not look like the photos advertised

They are outdated and dirty The beds are tiny in size We stayed in a 2 double bed room, but the beds were closer in size to singles The washroom curtain had stains, and water pooled up to your ankles when taking a shower Our TV did not work & wifi also did not work for our first day of our stay We travelled with a large group and several members of our party experienced worse issues Earwigs in the bathtub, ants in the room, an electrical spark & flame from the outlet, blood like stains on sheets upon arriving in hotel There was also no daily cleaning/room service offered until the third night of your stay, which would have been nice to know prior to booking The only reason I’ve given this hotel 2 stars is because the staff is very kind and helpful But overall, if you’re expectations are a clean hotel room, I would not recommend this place

Mistic Mods

Room was great but asked for regular coffee 2 times and got decaf both times Last time we asked they never even came to the room Also we were supposed to get wedding venue rates and asked multiple times and was told fully booked but groom said they were not

Called sales dept and told the same thing I wouldn’t recommend for the price service should’ve been better

Do not stay at this hotelI travel a LOT and I’m a Hilton diamond member This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in over 9 years

NONE of the gym equipment works It is all broken They gym is extremely small for what I consider Hilton Garden Inn standards I’ve seen Hampton Inns with bigger facilitiesMy asked to see the manager about the equipment all being broken I was told she is only there a couple of days a week and when she is there it is only from 9-2 This makes it difficult to have a conversation with her as someone there on a business tripAdditionally, my room smelled I figured out on the last day of my trip that the AC unit was leaking water into the floor/carpet I’m fairly certain this was causing mold to grow and creating the smellI will be in this area for the next 6 weeks My team will not be staying at this hotel for the remainder of this trip

So I dealt with Laurie this morning and McKenna the other day and let me tell you the customer service I received from both have been absolutely amazing! I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about this place and the staff here! This will be my new home away from home! (Sorry guys your now earned yourselves a forever guest, your stuck with me lol)

Great location for where I needed to be during my stay & quite, for the most partDuring my first 2 nights, a lot of families staying for what appeared to be a multiple state school event, with kids running up & down the hall & stairwell Although, I think the loudest incident was the tornado siren that went off outside my window

I went on this trip knowing full well to pay attention to the weather, & for the most part, know what I need to do in case emergency I also seek out the evacuation plans to familiarize myself with the safest route out Right away I found the instructions for a fire but had to search the room for the welcome book to see if there is any further instructions for a tornado Once I finally located it laying on a shelf near the tv, I read the tiny paragraph that told me to shelter in the bathroom if I am in my room or in the hall of the lobby area if I am downstairs For those that do not read the welcome books it might be beneficial to add those instructions to the fire escape plan on the back of the door so when the siren goes off the guests know what to do and are not searching the room for instructions Just happens that a tornado touched down not far from our location & I knew what to do when the siren went off because I searched for the informationOn a different noteIt was great having a kitchenette in the room so that I could make my own meals instead of eating a bunch of fast food the whole time Comfortable seating area to unwind before retiring to a soft pillow in a spacious bed & warm blankets Restaurants, bars & stores are not far down the roadI would definitely consider staying here again if I find myself back in the area

When we first got there the outside wasn’t very appealing at all To the point we thought about finding another place to stay The building was just to plain

Sure they had gas grills you could use that were clean looking But we weren’t there to cook I was having surgery in the morning So I needed to get things done as the hospital requested But we went on inside and the place was really nice and the lady behind the desk was really nice and friendly We told her about what we were thinking when we first drove up She laughed along with us We checked in and went to our room Talk about being pleasantly surprised how the room was and how much space we had all over the room Now as for the bedthat one needed to be changed out for a new one It sagged in the middle some I couldn’t sleep on it due to my neck So I slept on the big couch just fine Tim slept in the bed but didn’t get much sleep due to how the bed was Yes we will stay again when needed Just not the same room/bed We didnt take time to walk around to see the pool and all As we were busy getting ready for my surgery in the morning

Overall this hotel was nice It was clean, the beds and pillows were comfy, it was nice having a couch in our room and everyone was friendly We got a really great price too! I just wish they had microwaves in the room and the standard size hotel fridge instead of the tiny little cube fridge

We stayed their for 4 days and had hoped to be able to eat some meals in our room but without a microwave we couldn’t do that And the fridge was too small to put leftovers in

Kim Pekofske

The staff here is wonderful! Very friendly and helpful This is a pet friendly hotel BeAdvised there are additional fees for pets

Room was good, nothing fancy but clean and a lot of room Not a lot of grass for pet walking They need a pet off leash area that would be a huge asset to this property We would stay again

I had to leave a review and I never do this But I’m this world today and this economy a good hotel is hard to come by And especially having 4 full time jobs between the 2 of us and sleeping in the car most nights

This place was a god send Most hotels have moved to check out at 11AM since when I was growing up And WE DESPERATELY needed someplace to sleep comfy for the night and to shower And the minute our heads hit the pillows and the BLINDS kept all light out BEST nights sleep I’ve gotten I panicked when I woke up at 11:15AM thinking we were gonna get a late fee and I was gonna be interrupting their cleaning schedule but BEVERLY up front when I called to apologize and tell her my room assured me it was okay and it was noon I appreciate that so much from a world that has gotten so cold I highly highly HIGHLY recommend staying here if you’re ever in the area!

We had a great getaway With me being so busy I wanted to show my man that I appreciate him, this location was the BEST We had a whirlpool suite that was amazing

The fireplace was perfectly next to the window that had a great winter breeze Jacuzzi was amazing and deep enough for the both of us The staff were wonderful so polite, friendly and greeted us each time we came through the door I would definitely come back Only thing was upon checking out I found a shoe and other items under the bed from previous people

Stacey Johnson

Everything about my stay was 5 star Hotel was clean, facility, smells clean, check-in was smooth, pool and hot tub were up and running Hot tub was heaven

Happy hour, good breakfast Debbie was so sweet and polite I am definitely coming back Bonus for me were the signs about quiet time and what time its enforced Ive stayed at some hotels where guests and or children of guests had 0 consideration for other guests when it came to noise This will be a monthly weekend getaway staycation for me

Melissa Cardoza

Me and my boyfriend stayed one night, we enjoyed the room perfect for a small getaway the bed was comfortable, the pool and hot tub were okay breakfast was good we were satisfied with what they offered lots to choose from, now to why the three stars so around 11:40 (check out is at 12) we decided to finally get up and start grabbing our stuff I had accidentally spilled some coffee on my shirt so I was in the middle of changing when we heard the softest knock on the door and before I could even respond a cleaning lady presumes to open our door I was livid Check out is at 12 why the hell is someone barging in at 11:40!? So I go to the front desk with my frustration and the lady giggles it off and says oh I’ll talk to them

This place isn’t cheap by any means and the lack of customer service really irritated me I was in the middle of changing when a worker seemed it was alright to not even give us a second to respond to her knock before letting herself in We’ll be taking our business elsewhere our next couples getaway

Room had older type decor, yet was very clean and well maintained Shower pressure was amazing Pleased with the soft-close toilet seats & soft-close shower doors

Used both, key card and mobile phone key, without any problems Heater kept us warm The fridge kept our drinks and food cold Our stay was short, so we were not affected by the fact that there aren’t any microwave in the rooms Due to COVID, housekeeping is not automatic, despite requesting the service, no one ever came Overall, we enjoyed our stay, would recommend to friends & family If we’re ever in this area again, we would definitely come back

Jordan Syrowik

Had everything you would expect from a moderately priced hotel Bathrooms were up to date with modern tile and shower Mattress was a little firm, and the room decor was quite dated

Per usual with hotels the air conditioning kept changing back to 72, which kept the room a little stuffyIn all, great place There is a Starbucks as well as a non-included breakfast buffet

Tushar Rao

My room 721 was used by someone else when I was away, and the whole bathroom was dirtied When I showed this to the staff I was given a simple answer “we don’t know” without any concern or apology There was a camera right outside the room door and the staff promised that they will look at the footage and have a manager call me back

Been 4 days, no call and no follow-up Avoid this property if you value your safety and belongings and absolutely avoid ROOM 721

I am a truck driver I was involved in a minor fender bender with another truck My wife is riding with me for the first time in years

My company, Blackjack Express, reserved a room for us until my truck gets repaired Unfortunately, we checked in at nearly 11:00pm and were starving Everything nearby was closed or wouldn’t answer their phones There’s a little area with snacks you can buy near where you check in There was the most friendliest lady, Mary, that was running the overnight desk She was incredibly nice and friendly We are from Floriduh, and I’ve been telling my wife how the folks from the Midwest are so nice and sweet She finally got a taste of it The room is incredibly clean I would stay here again, without fail

Dr. Larry Mitchell

Never again with this chain $300 a night for a room, and I had to spend an hour wandering around the interior of the hotel looking for my room, because the outer doors I was told to use were all locked There was a door to the courtyard in my room, behind the curtains, and the door was OPEN

I was travelling single with a kid Screw this dump

Raquel Ugalde

Check in was relatively seamless, we were able to come in 30 minutes prior to the actual check in time The elevator was broken, we were on the 2nd floor but I can imagine what an inconvenience that would’ve been for someone who was unable to walk up to their room The room above us was extremely disruptive, they were running around for the first 2 hours of us being there

We called the front desk to give them a courtesy call to ask them to be respectful of other guests, however, at 6 am – they were running around againAround 9 am, room service came and tried to unlock the room while we were sleeping When we came out for breakfast, room service was in the hallway and said, “you didn’t answer, man!” Which was incredibly rude When we went downstairs to tell someone at the front desk, they didn’t apologize or say anything about the situation We left immediately afterward and will never be staying at Fairfield Inn – St Charles, again, and we will be telling everyone about our experience

This has been the most family friendly hotel we have stayed in a long time The front desk host was on her own and it was busy We arrived and our room was not quite ready as the lobby was full of people coming and going

It was the first and last weekend of doing break for schools in our area We were on our first weekend staying so we were relaxed no rush The manager took our bags the kids changed in the pool area and went swimming while our room was being prepared They brought our luggage to our room and brought my keys to me in the pool My son made a buddy in 5 mins and my daughter and I got to hang out The pool was so warm we actually asked if they could turn the heat down which is usually not the case and as an adult you end up fighting for space and trying not to get splashed in the hot tub This was so warm and clean towels were always restocked My so And his friend went “exploring” as did about 25 other boys all night until about 11pm They had so much fun walking the halls and sitting in the lobby playing on their phones together Breakfast was supposed to from 7am-10am the next morning but at 11am there was still no rush to close down the breakfast room and coffee, tea, milk juice, and whatever food (hot breakfast not just a continental) was still left was available for guests I called to ask for late check out and rather than 1 hour they offered me 2 extra hours since I had been delayed at check in It’s rare to find good customer service anymore and when I find it I patron as often as it fits my need This will be our go to hotel for the close to home weekend swim getaway next winter FOR SURE!!

amanda Jeffries

Front desk employees were very friendly However, when I pulled the blankets back for my son to go to bed there were hairs all over the sheets There was a cup on the floor between the bed and nightstand with some kind of liquid in it, carpet was dirty, toiletries were not stocked

The shower and sink drained very slowly making it difficult to do what we needed without causing a flood The small shop by the lobby only had power aide, tea and sodas And breakfast, well what was there was awful Nothing was refilled in the 30 minutes we sat there except for biscuits The man working the area was extremely friendly but the food was pretty much empty and it was 830 am I was very disappointed with this hotel Won’t be staying there again

lisa rose

Clean, except 1st floor bathroom commodes out of order King bed suite with 1 twin beds spacious and offers some privacy but door between King bedroom and main room has too to bottom glass Wish kitchenette was bigger (full size fridge/would be better)

Appreciate separate heat/cool for two rooms Pattern on bath floor makes it look dirty No specified pet area but plenty of grass area behind hotel Several choices for breakfast

I will start with the ambiance and amenities The Waterfront Room is gorgeous with lovely acoustics for a wedding ceremony or event for dancing The outdoor space on the riverfront is perfect for ceremonies and then of course the grounds are gorgeous for cocktail hours too

No one can COMPARE to the fabulous RAINBOW ROOM! Hello!?!?!?! A light-up dance floor with cool spots to grab photos from?! Yes please The food is fabulous and the staff is even better Kelly makes sure that clients are happy and that events are executed flawlessly She’s got a great eye for detail and is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS optimistic and coming up with unique and cool ways to make events successful The owners take great care of this venue and it shows WE LOVE HOTEL BAKER!!!

Me and my husband went to St Charles for the first time I saw the pictures of the hotel and thought it is a good little historic place to visit and stay

I booked the hotel for two nights We got there late and the whole lobby was under construction, They gave us a dirty room with used water bottles under the bed and dirty bathroom that smelled We didn’t make a big deal as we didn’t want to ruin our trip, however we asked for a room upgrade The receptionist told us that we have to check out from our room at 1100 am and they will give us the other room as soon as they clean it We follow up with them 3 times and they told us that the room will be ready soon Five hours later in a weather of 10 degrees, after we heard no news, we went to check again and they told us that they are going to charge us $500 dollars for sanitation and the claim that we were smoking in the room which was a complete LIE! They even charged our credit card for 2 nights when we stayed only one night I called them and asked for the manager to call me and she never returned my call At the end they removed the second night charge and I had to call the bank to dispute the extra charges I traveled all my life internationally and THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE THAT I EVER HAD!!!! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO ENJOY THEIR TRIP AS THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR GUESTS AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY PROFESSIONAL COURTESY FOR THEIR GUESTS!!!!!PS never give them your debit card as they are going to charge you without any explanation

We recently attended the Easter Sunday Brunch that Hotel Baker hosted and it was a delight They had an impressive spread of food that spanned three different rooms The variety of food from pastries, to custom omelets, full breakfast items, seafood spread, meat carving station to many lunch/dinner items no detail was skipped

Oh and don’t forget the most amazing dessert section!!! The service was great, everything was top-notch! Thank you Hotel Baker for a great experience!

First thing to welcome you is caution tape and remodeling, then a blue sign stating the pool and hot tub are out of service, and that it’s posted on all websites It was not As you can see in the photos the room was not the cleanest with either blood or ketchup on the walls

Looks like there was a leak at some point in time as well as the mold in a few different places There were several other things like patched up holes in the wall or how it looked like an animal was trying to eat it’s way out of the bathroom door and so on see the pics provided You can see stained or un washed towels and stained bedding Beds were surprisingly comfortable even after all the above Worst thing is it seemed to have a restrictor or regulators on the AC cause the room would not get colder than 74 and there was a really loud fan between the room and the main sitting areaLooked to be missing furniture and the items there were a bit beaten up with good sized holes in themThe guy a that came to the front desk looked extremely tired so much so he looked higher than a kite That was after waiting about 20 minutes for anyone to even get to the front deskBreakfast was a bit of a joke but what can you truly expect I guess Overall not a very good stay by any stretch of the mind but a great location and close to where we had to be for events

After walking into the lobby I instantly saw filthy carpets Most hotels smell “clean”, not this one thoughThe pool was closed, even though their website says nothing about it

My room stunk like an ashtray The sheets had some crumbs and stray hairs on them I was considering sleeping in my vehicleWorst hotel I’ve ever stayed in You couldn’t pay me to go back Hope this review saves other people from this same experience

Jen Noonan

10/10 would not recommend anyone using this hotel for a block for a near by wedding The people at the front desk were rude and on the phone for personal reasons while checking in guests There was awful food for breakfast

They did not have appropriate staffing for that many rooms being filled If I could give negative stars that’s what I would be rating it

Me and my husband stayed here a while ago and it was one of the best hotels I have stayed at The door man was very friendly as well as the front staff The rooms were amazing, very clean and spacious

I have never had room service and I was one of the best experiences of my life as you can see I didn’t order anything fancy but it was still amazing

DIVINE DESTINY

This hotel was extremely clean and comfortable The staff is polite, warm and inviting upto the cleaning staff Speaking of, they do a remarkable job of cleaning the rooms

This is coming from someone who generally travels with my own pillow, sheets, blanket and cleaning supplies I did not have to put in any additional work to make this place up to par for my visitIf you are there and looking for breakfast, try the coffee and smoothie place a few steps away (I forgot the name, my apologies) However, the ham and Swiss croissant was simply amazing! The only downside to my visit, was the bar was not open during my visit on a holiday weekend It turned out ok, because the location of the hotel gave countless other close options right on and off Route 59

Lillia Amor

The reservations manager Emily here made my stay absolutely repulsive I over slept and did not extend my stay, instead of receiving a phone call from the reception to politely ask if I was extending my stay- Emily approved of the staff barging into my room as I was naked showering I have never in my life experienced this at a hotel

When I told her my concerns she let me know that she can send someone to gathering my things for me to check out This was upon telling her that I feel uncomfortable extending my stay further since anyone can come in- unapologetically Being a woman staying alone this was a repulsive reaction from Emily I would never wish this upon anyone The hotel is nice, but unfortunately an unqualified reservation manager has trashed it

I booked a weekend at the Victorian Rose Garden B & B with friends recently for an event in Chicago I thought I was booking just a room, but what we had was an entire experience Sherry graciously opens her home and makes you feel welcomed and more like friends than guests

We enjoyed this lovely Victorian home and all it had to offer Our room had a wonderful feel including a private bathroom with a claw foot tub If you are looking for a place without interaction from your host, this is not the place for you Sherry greats you when you arrive, sat down at breakfast to share in the conversation and was always on hand if needed If you are looking to be treated like family I would definitely recommend checking into this lovely B & B!

My wife and I came out for a long weekend to reconnect and get some time away from our kid The experience was overwhelmingly positive Sherry was a fantastic host, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were amazing

We expected the sort of continental breakfast you’d get at a hotel but instead got a different homemade meal every day – apple french toast, cheese and spinach quiche, and vegetable omelets, all with fresh fruit There’s really nothing negative I can say about this place We’ll be staying here again when we come back into town

Jennifer Moody

I had a great experience at the Victorian Rose Garden B&B I was only there for a night, but got to enjoy some quality conversations with Sherry, had a delicious breakfast, a comfortable night’s stay, and a great book on the porch I stayed in Lady Teresa’s bedroom – the bed was comfy, the air unit kept the room comfortable without being loud, and I didn’t hear any of the other guests

I actually thought the room was much bigger in person than it looked in the photos Downtown Algonquin was cute and so close – we’ll have to come back to stay so we can experience that
