Terrific place in a great location! We found it on the spur of the moment looking for a place near interesting restaurants while crossing SC on 85 Even with a same day reservations made after business hours the host was very responsive texting the door code and getting maintenance to fix a light bulbIt’s an old house so there was some noise from other guests walking around but it wasn’t a problem

I’ll happily stay at the Swamp Rabbit next time I’m in Greenville

Becky Galvan

I hosted 9 guests at the Swamp Rabbit Inn this past weekend It was the perfect spot to celebrate a bride-to-be surrounded by her best friends The Inn is quirky and charming and had all of the amenities we needed

The Swamp Rabbit Properties team was great to work with through the booking and check-in process I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to host a larger group in the Greenville area!

We loved our stay at this hotel! It was beautiful, clean and conveniently located The valet service took great care of us, as we had to get the car in & out multiple times during the stay Everything was top notch, but I especially loved the great smell that greeted us every time we entered the lobby

I would love to know where to purchase that scent for my home! We loved Greenville & would absolutely love to stay here again

Elizabeth Anne Derrick

I stayed here during an event with a group and was given parking vouchers to use for parking by my supervisor When I first arrived I parked in the garage across the street When I went in and talked to the front desk receptionist, I explained what group I was with and signed up for valet parking (which was a mistake on my part)

The next day I presented the front desk with the parking vouchers that I was given to me for my group The front receptionist looked at the vouchers and said they would be fine for the valet parking and to just keep them handy for when I leave However, after departing the hotel, I noticed some unexpected charges on my card from the hotel I called and spoke to the accounting person and was told that they would call me back when they understand my problem I did not receive a call back for a few days and then noticed another charge added to my card I immediately called and this time talked to the front desk, explaining my issue and confusion I was told that I would receive a response soon It was then explained to me that the parking vouchers I had were not for the valet parking, but for the garage near the hotel I agree that I made a mistake by parking valet, but when I showed the front desk person my parking vouchers that I had for my stay, they should have noticed that they were not the parking vouchers used for valet parking and let me know instead of acting like my presented vouchers would work for valet If I had known, I would have moved my car so I wouldn’t continue to accumulate charges I am sad about this and think that I was partly led astray by listening to the front desk person and her acting like my parking vouchers that I showed to her were not the ones used for valet parking I don’t even think this hotel uses parking vouchers like I had- they use one ticket to be placed in the car on the front dash and there is a detachable small part to turn in at the end of your stay So my question is, how could they have looked at my tiny ticket parking vouchers and not have noticed that they did not look anything like the parking pass used at this hotel Now I lose money because of thisThe only problem I had at the hotel during the stay was that the pillow cases on my bed had some light but noticeable spots that looked somewhat dirtyOn the other hand, I very much enjoyed staying at the hotel and especially enjoyed the architecture and the complementary breakfast and the staff were very kind to me while I had my stay The innovative design of the hotel rooms were visually appealingJust make sure to ask specific questions about parking and parking vouchers and ask more than once and multiple staff members (front desk and valet parking staff) if the parking passes you have are the ones used at this hotel or not so that you will not be led astray Ask them look at the vouchers very closely so that they can explain if they are the ones used at this hotel or not

Have stayed here a few times in the past couple of months First off, great downtown location When you walk in, the lobby is beautiful with various sitting options

Rooms were spacious and well appointed Loved the combo ice/water dispenser on each floor Seems like a much better idea than the traditional ice dispenser Breakfast had multiple options and the coffee was good Gym had everything you would want and more What a surprise that was Would definitely stay here again Seems like a good option if traveling for either work or pleasure

We were there for a wedding and this was the hotel that was chosen for most everyone to stay We were able to get a discount because of that but even without it, it looked like their prices were very reasonable The room was clean and was beautiful inside and had a beautiful view outside

The service was great I would definitely stay here again

Andre Berenzon

After reading more reviews about the thefts that happens in this hotel by their staff, I feel more confident about getting a solution to this matter My wife and I rushed out this morning and she forgot her wedding band and wedding ring in the bathroom counter We both are 100% sure we left it there

Three hours after checking out we called and they said they would send someone to check the room and would call us back Ten minutes later we called again and they said someone was in the room searching for it and would call us back Thirty minutes later I called and the manager said she personally went to the room and it wasn’t there There are plenty of other reviews reporting the same issues We are filing a police report We are filing a claim against Hilton’s insurance We will go out of our ways to sue anyone involved and will make sure this gets solvedWe are Hilton Diamond members and will never support this brand again until Corporate reports back to us with a solution

Rob McQueary

I thought long and hard about this review because I love and am usually overwhelmed by our connection to the Hilton brand of excellence This location was not in keeping with that I understand that they are in the midst of an update so I will reserve final judgment

It wasn’t any one thing… just a mountain of little things that did not add up to the usual excellence attached to the Hilton name

Clean rooms, though a bit on the smaller side Very nice bar and the restaurant had a decent breakfast buffet selection (but it was $17 a person roughly) Huge 65 inch

+ TV was a nice touch in the room My parents actually hosted their wedding reception here 2 decades ago so it was cool to have a personal connection They accommodated our Omega Psi Phi conference pretty well for the size of the group we had

Derek Brooks

We stayed here for a conference and we’re very happy with the accommodations! It appears that the hotel has been here for a while, but everything we experienced was up to date and modern The room was great, but so was the hotel restaurant and bar The conference space was also very nice

We walked everywhere we went On Friday night the city closes down the street outside the hotel for food trucks and live music, our whole 3 night experience was great!

John Laswell

I slept well the second night which is better than I do at most hotels The walls and doors are thin I could hear talking in the hall

The wall behind me shook when the person in the adjoining room got into bed, and i could hear the music from the atrium clearly through the window of the room The bed was nice, and everything seemed clean Service was good There were plenty of places to charge things The water wasn’t hard The temp of the shower was nice The lighting was neat It was a great location to walk to the falls Surrounded by lots of cool places In general I enjoyed my stay there The Roost was excellent The glass elevator and atrium are beautiful experiences

Our stay was amazing from start to finish!I called the receptionist before check in to let her (Sharon) know that we will be late checking in She said no problem maam, I will be here when you and your husband arrivesLove-loved her and she was amazing when I got there too

I had a mask on and she could see that I was a little uncomfortable She told me what, when and how things work at that hotel and she was professional the entire timeThis hotel and the room was, clean My husband and I normally stay at the high end hotels down town… Let me stop you now and say this You save money by staying here and you will receive the best service here too! I can go on and on but I will just saySharon was the best of the best and we would stay again at this modern, well design and clean hotelThank you

Cambria’s Accommodations are so wonderful and comfortable Great place to stay Teresa and Bruce “the dynamic duo” took great care of me

I needed a shuttle back to hotel, and they were extremely busy They both kept me updated on when I could expect to be picked up multiple times You don’t get that at most hotels I have had plenty tell me they can’t tell me where the shuttle driver is or when I could be helped Beautiful and sincere Customer Service!

Riss B.

Absolutely beautiful hotel, the rooms are so clean and spacious and modern Love the bluetooth mirror and really appreciate all the USB ports around the room Customer service at the front desk was so fantastic

I had to extend my stay unexpectedly and Sharon went out of her way to help me and to make sure she put me in a room with everything I’d need for the longer stay I would more than happily stay here again

We loved the feeling of a little slice of Europe in Greenville, SC The design and ambience were wonderful and to our taste The staff were friendly and helpful

The location was excellent We had valet parking for our car and didn’t use it until we left We walked to the Reedy River falls and park and to our delicious dinner at Soby’s Had we been attending The Peace Center, we’d have only needed to cross the street The breakfast croissants, authentic and delicious, were from France

Sonji Johnson

First, let me state what I liked about the hotel: location, rooftop restaurant, front lobby decor/vibe, and customer service @ the front deskWhat I didn’t like about the hotel was the HVAC in our guest room My husband and I traveled to SC at the beginning of the summer so no problem

However, this is my third experience with a Marriott property where trying to get the room temperature at a comfortable setting is impossible It’s either too cold or the direct opposite too hotObtaining a comfortable room temperature was never an issue in the past and I’ve been a long time Marriott member so Marriott need to get it together This was my only major complaint with this property Everything else was pretty good I would stay here again because I really like the area

Dan Mason

We spent two nights at this brand new hotel The staff were wonderful and it was impeccably clean The only negatives were: the euro style toilet did not flush well, the shower operation was shockingly difficult to figure out, and there was only a side table on one side of the bed

Even with those negatives, we would happily stay there again

We were staying at the Best Western Plus hotel for a week (June 11 – 17) We felt cozy & comfortable there Everything was pleasant, neat & clean! And on top of that, the people who work in this hotel were very nice

We had to leave urgently, family emergency under stress and I didn’t realize that I left all my clothes in a room there They saved it and it was returned to CT! I’m very thankful!!! Very happy with our stay in this hotel and definitely recommend it to everyone!

Jane Doe

After spending a night at a run down motel coming here was like winning the lottery The employees are all so nice and friendly The rooms are a good size and every clean

Beds are so comfortable and I absolutely love the pillows I’m here for a family emergency(a death in the family) The staff is comforting They have a nice breakfast set up (although I can’t eat since I’m so upset) and coffee is fresh 24/7 Bathrooms have a nice shower There is a microwave, fridge and a good size TV in the rooms They also have a gym and outdoor pool I recommend this hotel highly for anyone who needs a good nights rest

Tami Tambalamb

We booked a room July 7, 2021 and now I’m thoroughly reading all low reviews on every place we book We checked in close to midnight after being on the road for 7 hours There was purple tape or signage on the door knob of the room that said something along the lines of “clean and checked for safety”… we walked in and immediately checked everything and was absolutely DISGUSTED

We lifted the comforter off both beds to find dirt and hairs on the inside side of comforter and sheets! The phone was so dusty it was scary to look at Hair was all over the bathroom sink, toilet and shower The toilet had yellow caked crustiness all over it Mold, mildew… We were told by the attendant at the front desk that he could not refund us for our stay but came down to leave 10 minutes after walking into the room Days later the manager refunded us This type of dirty is unacceptable especially during those covid days in 2021… it shocks me that this hotel doesn’t have a lower rating We will never stay here again and worry for those that do – they don’t clean and management thinks the problem is fixed with a refund… I had photos and videos to email the manager They need better management and staff

The thing that amazed me most about this hotel was the cleanliness Without thinking, I walked around our room in new white socks for quite a while the night we arrived I was shocked to see they were not dirty when I took them off

The room, bathroom, lobby and common areas were all spotless There was nothing that we saw that even had a speck of dustThe breakfast buffet was delicious There was a hot section with an egg (omelette or scrambled), meat (bacon or sausage), and a bread each day (potatoes or biscuits – biscuits had a gravy option) each day we were there The toppings for grits/oatmeal were numerous There were always two types of waffles with over a dozen toppings There was also fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, bread and pastries to round out the menuThe staff was always friendly and greeted us when we passed They were ready to help with anything we needed each day It was obvious that they took pride in their jobs

Esther Devine-Huff

We were traveling for the first time with our pet and didn’t know what to expect The hotel staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and all supportive of him being a guest as well Perfect location, safe, clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff

Best Hampton we’ve ever stayed in We will absolutely be back the next time we are in the area

Scott Carroll

I stayed 4 nights I requested my room be cleaned every day My room was cleaned only once, even after I continually asked that it be cleaned every day

I was not brought towels I had to go down every night and get towels One morning the hot water did not work This hotel is the loudest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in You can hear traffic on the street You can hear people in the rooms beside you The staff was pleasant However, I asked to speak to the manger every day I was there and called every day for a week to speak to the manager Finally 1 week later the general manager called me back I told her if I wanted to stay in a dirty room, I would have stayed with my mother in law After telling her of the aforementioned comments and that I was dissatisfied with my stay and asked about the “100% satisfaction guarantee” She told me I should have checked out and stayed with my mother in law! I am a “Gold Hilton’s member” and have been a member for 15 years and have never asked about the 100% satisfaction guarantee, but apparently it is worthless at this hotel

We just experienced a wonderful stay here No complaints everything was great! The check in was not only super simple but the front desk people were extremely nice and explained everything to us The evening reception almost had me drunk off the complimentary drinks 😉 we booked a king suite which was very roomy, could maybe use a little updating but everything was clean and comfortable

Breakfast did not disappoint and the omelet stand was everything! We will definitely be back!

Miya Caughman

My wife and I are here for Valentine’s Weekend and we had an amazing time!! The Resort is so nice we spent most of our time at the room! We were welcome with chocolates at the door Text messages throughout our entire stay ensuring we had an wonderful experience Fire place outside with the moon light

Nice pool area Hot breakfast every morning with unlimited omelets!!! The rooms were very clean beds are super comfortable the shower jets were relaxing Great staff that told us the nicest restaurants in Greenville We’re having an amazing time The wife is happy and so am I You know the saying HAPPY WIFE HAPPY LIFE!!! It’s safe to say we’ll be staying at the Hilton for the rest of our life! So long Mariot

Talesha Whitmire

Well, I hate to complain, but the last Hilton hotel I stayed in was in Duluth, so that is why I decided to stay here I came to this area to take a nursing test at a nearby testing center I have always stayed at Hilton hotels, but had no idea my expectations would so disappointed after staying at a beautiful, clean, Hilton hotel like the one in Duluth

To start, I think they upgraded, but was not sure, because I reserved a king bed, and I ended up getting two doubles in my room which wasn’t really a big deal, however when I walked in, I felt like I was in a bad episode of the Brady Bunch and couldn’t escape The decor definitely was not up to par, very outdated I walked into my room and it was so hot that I had to call the front desk They did send maintenance quickly, but the stench of the old hotel plus the room being so hot almost made me retch So, I ended up with a box fan The air conditioner never really worked properly, so I was thankful for the fan, but I would have been ashamed to charge for a room And, the sink beside the coffee pot had coffee on the wall Did not make me feel as though the room was deep cleaned The food from the cafe was minimal, and I was charged twice I called to accounting department and they were too rude to call back Never could get a live person Still checking my credit card to see if it was fixed I don’t mind paying for good food But to have minimal food and be charged twice!!! And then, not receive a phone call back? I called twice Also, the breakfast bar I wanted eggs and bacon, and the eggs were obviously powder eggs and the bacon was cold Just not a good stay and I felt the hotel was old and dirty NO ROOM SERVICE I will say the positives: The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and there was plenty of parking, and the bathroom did smell of clorox, so I am assuming the cleaning in the bathroom was complete I will not be staying here again I was so disappointed after staying at the Hilton in Duluth No comparison at all Needs updating and some new carpet

5 stars solely for the fact the shower head was above the 6ft level so I didn’t need to contort myself to wash my hair Room was clean The sliding door for the bathroom is cool, but not very private as it sits like an inch off the wall and the one bed has a clear view through the gap to the full length mirror that reflects the rest of the bathroom

But that’s generally not a big deal as you’ll know who you’re staying with

Luke Skywalker

I enjoyed my stay The room was very clean The bed was comfortable

It is a basic hotel room and it served its purpose If you need a place to sleep and grab a shower this is it The price was excellent My only suggestion would be better directions on how to use the coffee machine in the room If I ever find myself in Greenville again I will book another stay here

Todd H Ohlmann

What a great little hotel It looks like the entire place was completely rehabbed and reopened The did an amazing job with the room we were in

The only negative of our overnight stay was the breakfast Apparently their kitchen and serving equipment was on backorder so they provided a bagged breakfast to go juice, pastry, yogurt, apple, and granola bar Once the breakfast area is open and ready to serve this hotel will be great in every aspect

The hotel staff was exceptionally delightful! They got us checked in fast, recommended some great dining options and even replaced feathered pillows with synthetic as soon as we checked in and we’re very friendlyThe hotel itself… they need mold remediation and a new engineer The moment we stepped into our room the musky stale smell of mold hit us in the face

It appears that water leaked from the AC above our room into ours and it was just painted over The bathroom ceiling was also covered in water spots and mold Walking down the hall to the front desk you can see where the ceiling tiles are all splotched with water stainsOur daughter is extremely allergic to mold and within 40 minutes she was already getting a scratchy throat and coughingIf you’re sensitive to mold I recommend finding an alternate hotel

My room was clean, and the staff was very friendly I was working in the airport and used the shuttle to get to and from the airport for 3 days, and every shuttle driver was great Complimentary breakfast was good

The only downfall was that the outdoor pool was so cloudy that I couldn’t see the bottom of the 3ft deep area, and the top two steps were brown from settlement

Mary Ann Cox

We needed 6 rooms reserved for a family funeral The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and were the most friendly staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie, Rhonda and Aron were absolutely wonderful

They even brought in an extra lamp in my Uncle’s room so he could see his way to the restroom during the night Thank you staff of Fairfield Inn for being a bright light during a sad time

My husband surprised me with an overnight trip and he chose this hotel! The staff was so amazing and friendly especially the concierge lady

she even sent up chocolate covered strawberries to our room as a surprise! She was amazing the night clerk was awesome too! We tried to eat at the ale house for a late night snack on our way back from being downtown but people waited over 2 hours for their food We decided to eat at the hotel instead and it was great food! Better then some we got at higher restaurants earlier in the day! Thank you to the staff for being so great!

During our stay at the Westin Poinsett, the valet team was attentive, welcoming and that’s where it ended The front desk team seemed confused (details of our reservation weren’t listed, we requested a roll away bed), they repeatedly said the hotel was completely booked giving the impression of frustration, and asked if we wanted our room cleaned daily?! The king size room needs updating (as does the hotel), was small and uncomfortable, especially the bathroom consisting of a tub shower (not walk-in), where a tub handle is located near the comically large rain show head, and a single sink After bruising elbows and hips-we had to take “sideways” showers

Location in Greenville is fantastic but cannot recommend

This is a beautiful old home and the people that own it are very kind The bedrooms are beautiful and happy hour was so nice the first night when we were all tired from traveling and wanted to relax and visit We used the outdoor area for my father’s Celebration of life which was perfect

I would say the only downside was the bathroom upstairs that all 3 bedrooms share needs to be updated to have a shower The owner said they were working on that Other than that, it was a perfect weekend and The James House Inn is a wonderful place to stay and/or use for events We also rented their cottage within walking distance that is an Air B&B This was nice so if we wanted to stay up past The Inn’s quiet hour (10pm) we could stay there and wouldn’t be bothering others in the Inn I would definitely recommend both of these Gorgeous homes to anyone looking to stay in the Greer area

The James House in was just perfect for my daughter and her bridesmaids! The house and grounds are gorgeous, and are the perfect backdrop for incredible pictures! Erin went out of her way to make us feel welcome, with beautiful flowers in every room, serving a delicious breakfast, and champagne and mimosas! No detail was overlooked! Thank you again for the perfect stay!!

The James House Inn was a great discovery! The host Erin is gracious and accommodating and made us feel like part of the family while the spacious house often allowed us have our own private space The Inn was decorated with lots of interesting and beautiful antique pieces The James House Inn was perfect for our mini getaway

It’s 4 blocks from downtown Greer which is a very up and coming area with some wonderful restaurants and shops and more coming as the town is working hard to improve the area

Pettigru far exceeded it The grounds were lovely with all the spring flowers in bloom The dogwood tree was in bloom just outside our private balcony The rooms are beautifully decorated and so comfortable We stayed in the red and black room which was perfect for just the two of us Just outside our room were an assortment of drinks and water bottles, coffee, and homemade cookies in our roomsuch a nice touch Breakfasts were superb We truly enjoyed our conversations with Lori and her guests We will certainly be making a return visitTony & Rita

I was looking for a B&B within walking distance of downtown that my wife would enjoy for a romantic getaway Well, mission accomplished! This historic property had lots of charm and the owner and staff were just wonderful Our breakfasts were amazing and our bed was very comfortable

We had all of the amenities, including Internet and 24-hour coffee and beverage service, which was much appreciated Our stay wasn’t too expensive either and I scored big points with the wife I would highly recommend Pettigru Place to any couple wishing to have some fun in Greenville, South Carolina!

My husband and I absolutely loved it!! We have already booked another vacation in December and have decided this will be our “spot” every 6 months to unwind We were looking for a nice place to vacation that doesn’t involve a ton of planning and where a lot of the unwinding is included in the hotel Pettigru Place does just that! The breakfasts are to die for (they even accommodated my gluten allergy which was a HUGE plus!), the endless cookies were amazing, and the customer service was spot on

We aren’t big into travel or, what we call, “stressful” vacations We loved being closer to home and being able to leave the stresses of normal life behind for a bit Loved staying here and can’t wait to come again and explore a different room! 🙂

I travel a lot for work and stay at a lot of Marriotts Being a woman, that can be a little scary at times, especially in a state/city that is new to youMy original room was booked with a connecting door which over the course of the evening caused me a lot of anxiety and stress (realistic or not)

I felt embarrassed going to the front desk to ask for a new room at 10:40 PM Employee at the front desk, Maya made me feel heard and didn’t even blink an eye when I told her why I wanted to change rooms She was very professional, warm, and comforting The process was seamless That is not customer service that can be taught; it is Just genuine kindness

My room had just had the carpets cleaned and eventually the room became musty as not enough time had passed to let the carpet dry Pool was not open, HH and Cafe not open regular hours Overall a decent place to sleep but lacking in experience

And the musty smell from the room was just gross my entire suit case now has that smell Yuck

Traveling for business for 2 nights, booked on the Bonvoy app weeks prior Selected a King Balcony Upon arrival the mobile checkin didn’t work

Upon opening the guest room I was overwhelmed by cigarette smoke The table below the TV was wet and a white substance also coated the tabletop Found a bug on the bed Immediately went to the front desk and got a “upgrade” to a 1 bedroom suite Better accommodations but lacked a balcony and the room faced the highway which resulted in a restless night Finally at 3:30am I left and went across the street to the full service Marriott World differenceThe indoor pool is closed and drained Avoid this place, but if you must – get a room opposite the parking lot/parkway The noise will keep you up
