We got stormed out of our camp site in the area and called to see if there was vacancy, Nick was very nice and helped accommodate us at 3 am during a busy weekend The next morning Mackenzie was so sweet and helped get us arranged for another night due to the storms The hotel ran very efficiently with spacious and cozy rooms

The location is an easy fifteen minute drive to Madison capitol where there is so much to do We didn’t mean to end up here but now we would come back and stay at this hotel because it was so awesome!!

Michelle Neyer

Literally the best customer service! I’m in the military and had a change in my schedule I had no toiletry with me McKenzie offered me EVERY available toiletry available

Her kindness was amazing!Plus the rooms very clean, and look like mini apartments! Highly recommend!!!!

My three boys were excited to go swimming and the pool was ice cold hot tub was Brown We would have been better off swimming in that litle lake that’s right next to the hotel Talk to the front desk their excuse was maintenance is off on Sundays and since it’s 5:00 they can’t do anything but check in is at 4:00

Stay away from this hotel if you’re coming with a family that wants to enjoy their time together

We were kept up all night long by the next door neighbors After the sheriff came at 4:30 AM, they continued talking loudly and laughing, and banging the door The walls were thin

Apparently they don’t need sleep But we did We have a long drive ahead of us and we’re exhaustedWe called the front desk three times asking for assistance, and he said he’d ask them to be quiet, but nothing ever happened The 3rd time we called, no one answered the phoneNever Holiday Inn Again NeverOur room smelled like old cigarette smoke The lobby and common area is stale We can ignore that, but not the restThere was a loud party in the parking lot, by where we had to park, when we arrived, so we were very concerned leaving our truck and bike unattended Thankfully, nothing happenedThe desk employee was very patient, kind, and was swamped with work, as it was a full house However, he was unable to do anything, so we wonder if management allows him to or notPay extra and drive to the Dells to stay somewhere else!

Don’t go to the Holiday Express Deforest WI if you want a hot breakfast!!!!Deforest was midway between our vacation destination Specifically chose Holiday Express because it offered a free hot breakfast Other hotels in the area were less expensive

Bottom line: No hot breakfast after 30 minutes even though we arrived by 7a Our group of 6 in 3 rooms decided to get breakfast on the road Hotel offered $10 off per room Really? It cost us $60 and wasted time getting to our final destinationFind another hotel that offers breakfast Avoid Holiday Express Deforest WIChris SPS Manager keeps responding that there were other items available A few muffins, toast, We had our own breakfast bars We wanted a hot breakfast These items are NOT a suitable replacement for eggs, bacon, sausage etc

First off price and location were reasonable The staff was very friendly, even housekeeping was nice The room was clean, everything straightened up

No hand soap in the bathroom though?!?Our sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable AF That hallway smelled like fresh clean laundry and cleaning solutions The pool was greatness, nice and warm, hot tub was good, kids really like their kiddie pool area too The courtyard is well taken care of and really chill for a night cap with a snack from the bar and a drink!

Sara Talbot

Wonderful place to stay if you have kids! The pool/water area is so great, especially for little kids, there is a beautiful & tranquil outdoor seating area I saw several people out there reading & enjoying the beautiful weather There is not a free breakfast, but if you pay more for your room it is included

The prices were very reasonable for the amenities It even has a trolley into town, and parking was easy There are nearby stores if you need things & a darling park with a splash pad within a 10 minute drive The hotel was very clean & the staff was friendly & polite

Dan Schultz

My wife stays at Courtyards by Marriott often for work and enjoys them This was a one night stay passing through town Super clean, modern room overlooking the courtyard which was beautiful

Great spaces on the main floor for eating, lounging, and for business travelers Not the nicest place I’ve stayed but for the price I thought it was a bargain Nice presentation Marriott!

Clean hotel, newly renovated, and management was very helpful We went through a second party booking site and upon check in, there was an issue with the site not sending the code to pay the hotel for our stay The manager was so helpful, and let us check in and go to our outing and called the second party site to resolve the issue

We woke up too late for the breakfast, but it looked like a very good set up of lots of variety in food and clean open dining space There is also an all day coffee/tea counter that was very nice The hotel is also a stop on Middletons free trolley ride that goes from different hotels every 30 min to downtown Middleton Very nice extra features The gym and indoor pool looked very nicely kept up as well Best thing of all, they have a 12 (noon) check out Overall great stay and only 15 min straight drive into downtown Madison

Felicia Kasparek

Hotel was very nice and friendly Breakfast was good Rooms were clean other than maybe they top sheep on the bed looked pretty rough

We were able to have pets which is always greatly appreciated My only concern and bummer was that the pool and hot tub were VERY dirty The pool water did not even look like pool water it just looked like dirty water After noticing that I looked at the walls of the pool and they seemed brown and almost moldy looking the hot tub looked even worse than the pool I def stayed out of it and really hope My kiddo stays healthy after it Had I noticed it before he had gotten in and started having fun I wouldn’t have allowed it It would benefit to drain that thing ,scrub up and start fresh Other than that the hotel was very nice

Jose N cadena

This place is excellent to stay at Monty is a great guest service He reinforced hotel policy’s

In this newest stay I was able to experience how Monty had to denied service to some guest because they were in the Do Not Rent list The female of the this couple was very rude and threatened Monty However he stood his ground Like I said he does an amazing job to keep the hotel safe

This hotel is a nice choice on the square for anyone visiting Madison We had an excellent view from our window and being steps away from downtown restaurants and the farmer’s market was fantastic! The hotel offers free coffee, muffins and fruit in the morning before 9am, which I wasn’t aware of before my stay, but it’s great Also, the parking is only valet which costs $20/night

They are still using some COVID-specific rules at this hotel, such as not doing housekeeping in the room every day; this is actually my preference so I hope they keep doing it for the future Finally, they were amenable to splitting the room bill between me and my colleague evenly, which made our travel plans easier Overall, I was really happy with this great spot!

Nick Chill

Our Best Western Premier Park stay was great The overall hotel had a very professional feel and welcoming service The valet was very helpful and friendly

Our room was nice, but not huge We also had a small view of brick building walls The shower, on the other hand, was incredible The location was key, as we were across the street from the amazing capitol building We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant, The Post, and loved sitting next to the windows with a view of the capitol

J R

Mixed bag Hotel itself is beautiful, lots of history and the poolside room we had was very nice Minus stars because the pictures of the rooms show nice walk in showers which is not the case

A big deal for those with mobility issues The restaurant is good for breakfast(not included), but skip dinner here, overpriced, mediocre offerings Plenty of nice places within walking distance

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel I was there for a work conference The rooms were nice and clean

The restaurant inside of the hotel is fabulous! Very fast and accurate The manager Karl was super attentive to our needs and was able to accommodate our very large group reservation on short notice The breakfast wasn’t great for the price Hilton Garden Inn hotels are supposed to offer a made to order breakfast but this location does not, just a decent buffet The only other gripe I had is I asked for a late check out and was denied As a gold member I was hoping an extra hour would be a manageable ask, but I guess it isn’t

I J

Poorly lit room and overcharged for sub-standard breakfast I am a Diamond-For-Life member, 18 years 100% weekly travel and will not repeat my mistake of staying here again:The breakfast was VERY substandard – the Garden is supposed to have a made-to-order breakfast, it’s what makes it a Garden Inn (rooms no different than Holiday Inn Express) No such luck here – the cook is here only on weekends so just a buffet

VERY disappointed Then this Garden charges Diamond members for breakfast I’m sure it seemed like a good idea to Hilton at the time they changed their breakfast policy, but I think they are starting to realize it drives away business since it is now VERY rare to find a Hilton chain hotel that actually charges Diamond members for breakfast Except here Yup, charged but then credited back right? – only I still got to pay tax on the discounted portion of breakfast No issue; I just deducted it from the tip that I would have left $732 charged – $600 would-be tip = $132 cost But I feel bad the wait staff got sDoes Hilton wait staff realize Hilton’s changed breakfast policy is hurting them much more than the “use-to-be” loyal Diamond members? Perhaps they should motivate their management to fix it The good news; Hilton’s changed policy made me find better hotels elsewhere! 🙂

For a “nice” hotel, this place is horrible First off, we were given a room that does not match what we booked When the guy at the front desk finally found the correct room, we walked in and realized that the lamps next to the bed are just dim night reading lamps, the kind that most hotels have under their real lamp

Second, the bathroom door does not completely seal and the lock leaves a lot to be desired Smells, sounds, and steam are not contained in the bathroom The bed only has the gross comforter that probably never gets washed and then a sheet, so no blanket comes on it Then on top of all of that, we tried to adjust the thermostat in our room and apparently we are not allowed to cool the room down to anything below 73°F I do not sleep at anything over 69 and I know a lot of other people do too I called the front desk and they basically told me they can’t do anything about it Oh, and did I mention they had no luggage carts when I came in at midnight?

We stayed here with our soccer club which means lots of kids and lots of noise Every member of the staff was super friendly, helpful, and made the whole experience pleasant We had 2 separate issues (our remote and our AC/heater) both were taken care of in a timely manner and the staff was happy to help

The gentleman working the continental breakfast was super friendly and helpful Would absolutely recommend They also made checkout/checkin easy for such a large group

Daryl Diddle

We are quite picky regarding cleanliness, and the place was clean – room, lobby, pool area (which was more like a small, indoor water park – our teens loved it,) etc Not fancy, but neat and clean The bed was one of the most comfortable we’d ever slept on – which is a high compliment coming from my wife, who has some back issues

The woman who took our reservation in the afternoon was super helpful and kind For the price it was a no-brainerThe only reason this was not a 5 star (I’d give it a 45 if I could) was the breakfast – the waffles tasted like chemicals and there was no milk for the cereal We asked for milk, but it didn’t seem like anyone was really interested in going to the store and grabbing some I suppose good help really is hard to findWe’d certainly stay there again

Beautifully remodeled modern style hotel Great service from the staff The room we had was without any windows though

Instead it had a door to the inside pool area While some might find that a preferred convenience, If we did it again, all 5 of us would prefer a window room instead next time Other than that the stay was good The pool here is geared towards small kids only

Joyce Marx

The staff is incredibly nice I didn’t get her name, but the girl who checked me in was very sweet and helpful Thank you for a wonderful stay! I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Madison

When we went in to the pool, it was closing in 30 minutes No one has been using the waterside so it had been turned off The lifeguard working turned it back on so my nephew could use it Even though she was closing in 30 minutes she never made us feel rushed and we enjoyed our time in the water park This was the evening of Tuesday March 2 Thank you!

Michele Ashbeck

There were some positive things about our stay, but I feel like the bad outweighed the good Starting with the good; the rooms were very clean and the pool area is great, with wonderful lifeguards Now the bad

When we booked the room we booked a 1st floor poolside room, when we checked in our room was on the second floor Checkout is at 11am, which is fine, but the pool doesn’t open until 9am, and when we were here they didn’t open it until 10 minutes after 9 They also didn’t open the water slide in the morning There isn’t a free continental breakfast, you have to pay $5 per adult and $3 per child Having to pay for breakfast we assumed everything was included, but only milk, water or coffee was included for drinks, no fruit juice We also thought we would get refills on our drinks, especially since we had to pay, but no one came around for refills Overall it seemed like this hotel likes to nickle-and-dime their guests while having subpar service and limited pool time

The front desk associate, Indra was very kind when we checked in an when we checked out She provided as much information regarding our stay a possible She was very attentive

Other front desk associates during our stay were not as attentive, they could be found outside having a cigarette or in staff Ron sitting reading or on phone or not at all We had to search for someone in order to get toilet tissue for our room as the amount on the two rolls was pretty much out The windows on right was stuck in open position add the crank seemed stripped and would not close window The sink in bathroom was extremely slow to drain I did inform front desk of these issues and did leave a note in room at check outOverall the room was nice and comfortable Selection of pillows which was very nice The room smelled fresh when we checked in which was very nice Many of neighboring rooms had pets which you could not tell as the rooms are very quiet Will return Thank you MsIndra for your kindness and professionalism

Ashley Booker

It is the staff here that makes my stay an excellent one A lot of my interaction has been with Indra who goes above, and beyond to make you feel welcomed, and comfortable; and does it all with a smile Everyone who works here is very nice

Cynthia always greets me with a smile, a wave; and often has fresh towels waiting before I even before ask for them Travis always says hello, and tells me to have a good day The housekeepers are friendly, and courteous They have a nice hot breakfast every morning The pool, and hot tub are a very nice size! In addition, they have a shuttle service for guests It is also in a nice location Thank you to all the staff for all you do!

Jen Belisle

Was charged $100 for a “cleaning fee” without consent or follow up It took three months of calling to contact manager, and he told me “you’re not getting your money back, and don’t tell me how to run my business” We are a quiet family of 5 and the room was fine

It’s his word against mine Wouldn’t stay there again for not only the fee but for the way I was treated

Overall I really enjoyed my stay I was in Madison for business This location was close to where I needed to be

The price point here is amazing The staff was extremely friendly upon checking in and checking out There is free breakfast in the mornings as well The mall is close if that is your thing I consider it to be within walking distance Not too much night life around here though I will more than likely book here again on my next stopThis Radisson has strayed me away from my Go-To (Mariott)A smart key would be nice (use my watch or phone as the room key Marriott and Hilton have this feature) I could not figure out how to navigate their mobile app

Lin An

Rooms are a bit outdated and cramped feeling but was clean Bed was comfortable Hallway noise was extremely loud

Worst part was the pool There were multiple bugs in the pool area and in the pool itself Ants, millipede and some kind of beetle Clumps of hair and ants in hot tub and jets did not work either So incredibly gross We tried to leave a couple hours after checking in but couldn’t find another hotel with availability that night Was able to cancel the rest of our reservation and stayed elsewhere The lady at the front desk was very kind and understanding

Q

Arrived at the hotel and my first experience was the above exceptional customer service The lady at the front desk was very helpful and professional The hotel has a restaurant, a pool, and a jacuzzi, which are all accomodations that I like to look for in a stay

The hotel was very clean, and smelled good My room was also very clean The breakfast was simple but had everything I was looking for, eggs, and sausage I was greeted when entering the breakfast area by a friendly hotel worker The prices are way below the other hotels in the area 10/10

I loved it here! I wish I never had to leave! Staff are super nice and helpful Free drinks at the Up North bar was a fun surprise They have live music at the Up North bar and the Come Back In next door had karaoke the night we stayed

Super convenient location The rooms are so cute and charming, the bed was super comfy, there was even a jacuzzi tub in our bathroom! Breakfast was great! I’m definitely staying here again next time I’m in Madison

Scott Bright

We loved the Hotel Ruby Marie! It started with the front desk staff They were so nice, friendly, and helpful We felt at home instantly

There are only a couple of floors of rooms Our room was really cool Nicely decorated as well There was a welcoming tray of candy in our room as well as all sorts of information about how the hotel works There were earplugs too because I guess the trains can get loud, but I slept like a baby and didn’t use them There is a bar called Up North on the ground level You get tickets for a free drink when you check in We loved the bar They had live music that night and it was great We were able to walk to the Wisconsin Memorial Union for a function we had Very nice walk Finally the breakfast the next morning was home cooked and excellent We will be staying here again

Thomas Schutz

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed both I was leery about the noise reviews-I’m someone that needs quiet My suggestion is to buy an inexpensive white noise machine due to the bar on the first floor and outside music

Having said that: clean room, comfortable mattress, charm everywhere, free and delicious breakfast, cocktails at happy hour, friendly staff, great location What more can you ask for?

Lindsay Williams

We were really looking forward to our stay at the Edgewater Hotel, but sadly, we were very disappointed by our stay Even though our multiple visits to their restaurants and bars have always been disappointing (there’s just not many on-the-water options in Madison, which is why we always return to their gorgeous location) due to poor/slow service and extremely high prices for sub-par food and service, we had high hopes for the hotel stay While the hotel is gorgeous, it’s the lack of customer service and attention to detail that disappointed us

We had our Do Not Disturb sign on our door as we were in desperate need of sleeping in At 8AM on a Sunday, a cleaning staff person knocked and walked into our room – even though we had Do Not Disturb sign on the door The front desk was unsympathetic about it Our room service breakfast was terrible for a “luxury” hotel The coffee was so weak it was undrinkable The bagel and packaged cream cheese were fine, but the fruit salad was defrosted frozen fruit The creamer was individual shelf-stable creamers, not real cream in a creamer service Just so disappointing for a $30 breakfast, that should have been free since we were woken up unnecessarily The rooms were nicely appointed, but the bathroom is poorly lit making it difficult to get ready/do make-up, etc There isn’t anywhere to hang towels, either This might seem very nit-picky, but for a $300/night room in Madison, Wisconsin, one would hope to have a more luxurious experience

Collette McDonald

We had a girls spa day The location is gorgeous Some of the treatment rooms overlook the water

Beautifully appointed The only rub for this spa is the lack of silence from the staff when near the relaxation area and treatment rooms Our first impression was the manager taking a cell call as we were getting a tour and the use of outside voices vs spa level communication It would also be a nice feature if spa guest could reserve a table at the boathouse vs having to go to the restaurant to ensure names are on the list Little things that add up

Madison was a new experience for us What a nice city It feels so much safer than Chicago! We actually walked around at night without feeling the need to look over our shoulders

We were at the Edgewater for a business meeting It is a great hotel with a beautiful view The rooms are large, clean and comfortableWe had a nice cocktail reception on the varanda with dinner to follow The bartender was so sweet and the waitstaff was very accommodatingI will say that the lighting in the lovely bathroom is not bright enough to apply makeup Most hotel bathroom are that way these daysKeep up the great work Edgewater!
