Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here I am a Marriott Gold Member and the hotel was very dated The first room I checked into had a dirty toilet seat and an air condition vent that sounded like a JET was taking off

I moved to a second room and at 3 am the SMOKE DETECTOR went off blaring then it happened again at 5 am They replaced the detector the next day I had to ask to be compensated and the front desk Manager Tanya was less than pleasant and not apologetic I was attending a business training at the hotel and there were ants all over the coffee machine and stale bagels and expired soda were served The employees helping out with the training were very friendly and helpful which was a bright side to the trip

Sam Singh

I was there at the beginning of the month in my monthly training at MGE… we got in super late after a 4 hour drive… I was very tiered when we got to the room we noticed it was a bit warm … long story short the AC was broken! Called the front desk and told them… not only did they immediately change our rooms but the brought the key to our door so we did not have to go back to the lobby!! In the middle of the night this was awesome

Schlandra Fall

Me and my family went here on a short vacation This was an experience we will never forget The bed was horribly uncomfortable, the pillows were to soft they did not support our necks my husband and I barley slept due to this issue

The ice maker on the floor was so dirty that I would never ever ever even think about getting ice from there They charged for the WiFi 1295 a day Parking was at a minimum because they are repaving the parking lot The restaurant does not have a kid friendly menu or reseasonable prices The room floors are hardwood so when room service came they should have sweept the floor but all they did was make the bed and put out new towels We decided that we will not stay here again when we go back to Florida

Last minute stop for the night with the kiddos Jennifer at the front desk was absolutely amazing! Her customer service is top notch! I haven’t felt this taken care of in a long time She knows everything about this cute gem and will ensure you’re taken care of! We’re super excited to put in our breakfast order and have it brought to our room in the morning! Our room is very clean and the price was good for the area

No complaints I would stay here again on our next adventure Especially if Jennifer is still here!!

D Saykaly

We entered the lobby the smell is horrible! The floors are uneven and covered with carpet The AC leaked on the carpet huge wet spot! Throughout the years the re-painting and remodeling that has been done is subpar I thought it would be cool because it was historical when we got there we realized we had made a huge mistake! The staff was nice! The pool was fantastic! Don’t get a corner room near the intersection or you will not get a good nights rest! Single paned windows

Lastly we really enjoyed watching the drug deals at the Shell gas stationed across the street! At night nobody buys gas they park at the pump Wait for the kid to show up on the bicycle after that cars take off! It was a great source of entertainment Definitely will not be back! Breakfast was a joke!

This is an Old historic hotel, so take it for what it is and appreciate it The rooms are spacious and cozy The staff is so accommodating and on point

The place is well taken care of It is a pet friendly place and I must say it does not smell like dog in the premises In the morning the coffee ran out, and the staff was quick to run out with a small pot while the big pot was brewing so no one had to wait They really care about the property and take pride Housekeeping left extra towels and toiletries folded so cute on the bed on our 2nd day,and I appreciate these details Breakfast delivered to the room was a special treat!!! Simple and tasty!!! I can go on and on

Nice place to stay Loved the balcony overlooking the inner waterway Saw dolphins a couple mornings

Plenty of space and convenient location Easy walk to the beach Our only real frustration was a lack of washer and dryer and the fact that we couldn’t turn left into the parking lot Reasonable price for the week Small, but nice pool We would stay there again If you’re looking for a less expensive option as compared to the beachfront properties, check this place out

Samantha Reil

This hotel was absolutely amazing We stayed for a whole week and I wouldn’t wanna stay anywhere else We saw dolphins from our deck and got to watch cruises pass by

The pool and hot tub were fabulous The heated pool was an amazing perk We also got rides to the beach with their golf cart and that was the best I had pizza from the restaurant and it was so good!! The staff was so very kind and attentive The rooftop bar was absolutely amazing and we just loved the view of the bay The customer service was top notch I want to give a huge shout out to all the staff for all their hard work and dedication to this beautiful hotel💞Especially Alan!! Thank you again

Michelle Meade

The front desk staff was super friendly and accommodating from check-in to check-out Missy went above and beyond to help us feel at home! The resort is generally quiet and has everything you need on site (pool, VIBES bar, etc) including golf cart rides to the beach and Publix nearby

The location is ideal for people who don’t mind walking to nearby restaurants The suites are not that old and are starting to show a little wear and tear but nothing too major We were thankful to find the 2 bedroom setup as 2 adults traveling without kids Many accommodations we found had a room for a couple and another with bunks for kids It was ideal to have 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms!! The sunsets were the best!!! The pool towels are great and fit around someone who is a bit larger! Overall, a great find for last minute travel plans We visited St Pete’s Pier and John’s Pass and would recommend both to any visitors

The staff was friendly and helpful but the cleaning staff need to be fired Every surface starting from the elevator door, tiled floors to the furniture in the rooms have not been wiped in a long time I had to wipe down all the furniture in my room due to the visible finger prints ,dirt and dust

The bed linens appeared clean The rugs were filthy The rooms and furniture are visibly dated and the hotel has an “old” smell to it I would not stay here again We paid $180/night including taxes Not exactly cheap for this level of hotel The breakfast was also not great Pretty bland

Claudia Raye

The was by far the filthiest place I’ve ever stayed Well

I didn’t stay I left!!! I will NEVER go v to this hotel again I had an asthma attack when I walked in the room The cart was filthy, so filthy i didn’t want to put my clothes on it The outside looked like it never been cleaned ever It STUNK BADLY!!! Then the front desk person had the nerve to charge me for the room even though i couldn’t breathe in this nasty place

FloridaStateFan 2017

I stayed at this hotel before heading to Miami for a cruise, and all I can say is that it’s not really up to par with some other hotels within the regionOne positive aspect of the hotel is that the staff members are quite friendly; especially one of whom who just so happens to be an Atlanta Braves fan (Go Braves!!) Another great aspect of the hotel was its coffee

It didn’t as bad as I thought typical hotel coffee would The rooms themselves also looked quite innocent and clean, including the carpetThe main negatives that I have about the hotel just so happens to be within the bathroom and bed In my room, the bed sheets looked somewhat wrinkled and only had half pillows available The worst of the negative aspects took place in the bathroom, where I found small black hairs (some long hairs, too) inside the bathtub (“Bwaaa!” [Hank Hill])!Overall, this was not my ideal stay at a hotel in Florida; and I had better experiences in my past, especially at a hotel in Kennesaw, GeorgiaTo the staff members who DO see this review, I’m sorry if this sounded a bit harsh, but there are some things that you need to improve on

The room and location are awesome Never had a need for Service so can’t say either way Spacious room, nice little vacation kitchen, close to all kinds off things to do

Great place Only complaint, as a “Resort”, maybe put in the curved shower curtain The bathroom was like a spare rooms bathroom with a small shower and straight bar Was very tight Fat people go on vacation too! It’s an older place, but very clean, AC worked great, and the doors going out to the beach were amazingly soundproof For the price, it was a definite value

Greg Olyansky

Nice place with friendly staff Bring things with you to the beach like food, its a long walk and no immediate options available for eats Rooms were cleaned every day

A nice stay for several days Beach is good quality Bring plenty of change and cash for umbrellas/chairs, its not cheap Nice pool and nice hot tub Bar is pretty good too Strong alcoholic beverages

Nathan Milam

We had an issue checking in and thankfully after some back and forth with the front desk, their manager, Donna, was able to resolve everything and make our vacation a success Miss Doris from house keeping was very kind and attentive and we love the hilarious bartender I can not stress enough how grateful we are to Donna for saving our trip

We’ll definitely be back and can happily recommend this resort

We went to the Bilmar week of March 27, 22 We went for rest, a safe and fun place for our 2 & 4 year old, and to have access to a warm pool and steps away from the beach That is exactly what we got! We had no issues and when we needed towels, candy, or waters the front desk was very helpful

Not only was the front desk helpful while we were there but when we left we accidentally forgot my carry on luggage with a lot of valuables in it I called them up and they retrieved it immediately and shipped it out ASAP I received it with everything in it and all in one pieceThis resort is a family friendly resort, that gave us what we needed We read the reviews and what they offered and it was exactly as described If you have kids and like kids then this is the place to goThere were issues with electricity and they resolved it ASAP and informed us It didn’t impact us as all, even our food in fridge wasn’t effectedIf you are looking for a 5 star, high end resort then this isn’t the resort for you but if you are looking for a kid friendly, safe, fun, and affordable resort at the location it is in- then I would recommend it!Thank you to to the staff who really helped us out while we were there and with my carry on, it was a very stressful situation and you reduced the stress to the maximum level possible

Spent five days vacation My friend made the lodging arrangements The hotel was nice, but in my opinion over-priced

The room was comfortable, but carpet was not very clean Kitchenette was well stocked 7th floor view was very nice The elevator was s-l-o-w The beach is a VERY far walk from the rooms Being disabled, I wasn’t able to walk all of the way to the water and back Not pleased with having to go down to Sloppy Joe’s outer waiting area or out to the beach wall to smoke I can understand no smoking in the rooms, but to ban smoking on the balconies is ridiculous

I usually have no issues with IHG hotels but this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had Luckily we were only there one night Dirty dirty rooms!Upon check-in, the first room we were sent to smelled like someone had just been smoking in there

The cigarettes smell was very strong and I thought they accidentally sent us to a smoking room I called the front desk and the response when I said it smelled like someone had been smoking in there was “I’m not sure maybe it’s haunted” What a unprofessional and awkward thing to say We asked to switch roomsThe second room we were given smelled even worse Immediately upon walking in it smelled like bleach and chlorine There was also a small mold air purifying machine in there with words that literally said “warning, do not use when space is occupied” We told the desk again and the clerk said “oh yeah I forgot, I can just take out the machine” We said absolutely not We’re not staying in a room that has mold and reeks of bleach when we have 2 toddlers with usThe last room we were given smelled fine But all the rooms were dirty, especially in the bathrooms The showers had a film of dirt or sand on the bottom We all ended up wearing flip flops in there because we didn’t want to put our bear feet on the groundOverall I would sleep in my car before paying to stay at this hotel again

Joe Bullen

Danny at the front desk provided outstanding customer service I booked a room with a king-sized bed online However, the hotel had no more rooms with a king-sized bed, so he upgraded me to a suite at no extra charge

There was a burned out light in the room The room had a slight moldy smell that set me sneezing after showering Walls are thin so bass and conversation from other rooms does carry into your room Deducting a point for this factAlso, beds here are not nearly as comfortable as other Holiday Inn Express hotels Might go back to Doubletree again I just think this hotel might need updating Bathrooms were clean though

Greg S

This is such a great hotel and Danny at the front desk was so very helpful All the staff has be very nice and courteous This place is so clean and the up lighting in the rooms is amazing

The location is great for vacation you can be to the north or south end of the county in 20 minutes It’s also only about 20 minutes to Tampa or 45 minutes to Bradenton Thier breakfast is great also

Wow! Talk about great vacation spot!! If you have plans to go to the beach, this location is great! Once we arrived here we didn’t want to leave The Condo was huge, spectacular and BEAUTIFUL!! and it is located just across the street to the beach, shops and restaurants We also saved a bunch with the full sized kitchen

The oversized outside private patio, pool off back, just amazing!!

From recent reviews, it appears to me that this place is even worse than it was when it first opened Our unit was full of palmetto bugs

coming out of vents crawling up walls and this place had no other units available more would they give us some type of refund Oh yeah they sprayed three times We obviously had to stay out for hours Did it work Hell NO Unfreaking believable This place is Horrible Dirty and full of cockroaches I call it the Palmetto Palms !!

Alyssa Johnson

It is very obvious that the listing photos were not of the actual location Our unit was very dirty I asked my husband to not complain because this was our first vacation since before the pandemic until our refrigerator leaked brown fluid

It was ‘after hours’ and there was zero help or supplies to clean this up, and at that point all of the “small” problems mounted up They just told us it wasn’t their problem at the main site Issues: The unit over all wasn’t clean They decided to be nasty versus helping us just try to clean refrigerator fluid book somewhere else, it’s not safe for a family 🙁

We stayed here overnight last night for New Years The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating The room was decent for the cost and nicely amenities

King bed was nice and pillows were comfortable The reason for the 3 star review is based on insulation and privacy When we returned at 2am the neighbors were up and talking and the noise flew through the adjoining room door We had to have the TV on to blend it out Everything else was acceptable but that is not conducive to a quiet evening with so little sound barrier

Patti Blake

I have stayed here multiple times The only complaint I have is when I first started staying here the gave you a bag with a breakfast in it like a muffin and piece of fruit and they offered coffee with different types of cream like French vanilla etc Now they only have coffee with plain cream

They do not offer the continental breakfast any more Over all its a great stay The breakfast not a big deal but man did I need my coffee The staff was also very nice

tom aschauer

Spent three nights and four days here Not once did they clean my room, give me fresh linens, take out the trash or change the towels The ice machine on my floor wasn’t working and there is a neighboring house to the back that has a rooster that crows all day long, so try and get a room close to the front of the building

Or just stay at the Quality Inn that’s about a half block north that looks like a much nicer place to stay Although I don’t know how the rates compare But for almost $800 I think I would have expected more

Booked it for a last minute getaway as the rate was affordable and looked like a cute spot We are a couple and stayed 3 nights in room #8 Enough space for both of us

Room was clean, AC worked great; especially after returning from the hot sun I appreciate the mini kitchen with a full size fridge that had what we needed for a quick breakfast before hitting the beach Decor was modern, bed was comfortable, they even had a can opener and I actually needed one! Pool area was neat and well kept as well Beach access is directly across, a 5 minute walk and you are hitting the sand It was a 5 minute drive to Johns Pass Village It’s a quiet and cozy place and it was great It’s obvious the owners take pride on this place and it shows

We stayed here in April 2022 unit 6, this place is awesome The pool is great Both sunny and shaded areas to sit and enjoy the pool

It’s right across the street from Public beach access Bonus there is an ice cream shop right across the street too The room had ample space and a full kitchen Our first night we cooked dinner at our room, all the pots and pans and dishes we needed Coffee maker thank goodness for that coffee maker The staff was awesome in providing for us They even have beach toys you can borrow for the beach I can’t say enough good things about this place We loved Cant wait to come spend another vacation here

Maxwell Heidenson

We had an amazing time at the BBR! Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful The room (unit 10) was very comfortable for our family of 4 (kids ages 3 and 8), the pool was amazing and our kids would have stayed in it all day if we let themThe location is great, just a quick walk across the street to the awesome shake shop (which had the best and cheapest ice cream we had all trip) and the beach

We would definitely stay here again since the staff was amazing (especially Katie!), accommodations were everything we needed and the location was within walking distance to find great food, drinks and shopping! Thanks again!

This was the perfect, quaint beach stay Location to the beach was the bestFriendly, quick responding staff made our stay top notch

This little hotel has a great location, you can walk to the beach as it’s across the street, Circle K is right next door so is easy to get drinks and snacks to keep in the room, good restaurants are close by like the Crabby on the Pass (great food) and is a great spot if you want to visit close by beaches As far as the hotel, is a cute little colorful place, very private and quiet, just what I needed for a last minute bday getaway, the rooms are very interesting, the way it was built was very innovative and creative, the bed is so comfortable, I suffer from lower back pain and I slept like a baby which is a huge plus for me, we loved our stay here and will definitely consider for our next visit!

This experience was terrible Our first day here, we were able to switch rooms but my wife forgot her wedding rings in the first room We informed front desk guy, Brian, who sent an employee to let us back into the room to search for the rings

They rings were not there When we went down to inform Brian at the front desk, he vehemently denied that anyone might have taken them I asked him to ask the only housekeeping employee who had cleaned that room after we switched rooms Brian called and we heard the guy say he found 2 rings and that he “forgot ” to bring them down REALLY??? Why didn’t front desk call housekeeping right away to check if he found the rings when we called down the first time?We stayed 7 days last year and enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to come back this year to stay another 8 days With this incident and now they decided to charge $10 parking per day, we’ll take our business elsewhere This is not okay and I am a silver elite member with Marriott

Top notch service These people are very good making you feel important and they are very professional Rooms were clean

Loved the balcony Good treadmills The location was beautiful and close to publix and other food like McDonald’s and a pizza place Plus they have a bistro The legion was loud next door but could not hear them with patio shut The bad thing was the pool It looked very dirty Did not want to get sick swimming in it Lighting in room and bathroom was dark Beds were hard but better than lumpy Would stay here again if the pool gets cleaner

I have stayed at many hotels in my time THIS particular location has been amazingTo be honest, the service here was the best I have had

We had a home issue and had to get out of the house while it’s getting fixed and I’m SO GRATEFUL that this is where we landed for 25 weeks My cat had to come with us and they were beyond accommodating They beat the price listed on any app by paying them directly I prefer to do my own room service and they allowed me to use their cleaning supplies including vacuum and all The manager Jeff Was so kind and you could just really tell that he takes pride in his job and the hotel That’s not something you see much anymore, and it was genuineAnd no, nobody asked me to write this review but I wanted to It’s spring break and everything was booked Every Airbnb and nice hotel on the beach… booked full It was some miracle that we found a place to stay and I would definitely recommend it

This hotel still feels new for the most part Nothing was broken or out of commission in my room or elsewhere The bathtub has a nice insert on the bottom that provides good traction

I’m not sure why that’s not standard everywhere Staff were helpful and friendly with one exception, whom also recoded my door key when I said it wouldn’t open my room I just told her my room number, didn’t even ask my name to confirm I should have access to said room — concerning

The location is convenient, but driving off a fast expressway and trying to turn into the hotel is a little dangerous at times We called room service a few occasions for more towels and other misc items and always had to come down to get our items, apparently there is only one person working at the front desk Breakfast is mostly hard broiled eggs, 2 waffle machines, bagels, muffins, cereal, coffee station and packets of oatmeal

We were disappointed that there were no scrambled eggs or sausage Our room was nice and clean, but a little tight Wish there was a little more counter space to put our stuff There was only a small desk and one nightstand The closet by the door smelled bad, like it hasn’t been ventilated for a very long time The maid was always friendly and tended to our needs
