The worse stay at a Marriott property that I have ever had I would avoid this property at all costs Reserved a Kind suite for my family of 4 (plus infant)

Arrived and was given a King Room Hotel staff and management did nothing to accommodate our family and we were forced to sleep on one bed until later in our stay when given the correct room We had called early in week to confirm booking In lieu of the actual room I paid for, Marriott gave me $20 per night They refused to make this right with my family and I I would avoid this property if traveling to NC

Hotel itself was fine Nothing extravagant My room was small but practical

Bed and pillows were comfortable Bathroom looked like it had been updated recently Breakfast bar was available but I didn’t try it Fitness room was very limited Two treadmills, an elliptical, light free weights and a benchMajor downside, which was a freak occurrence I’m sure, was the hotel fire alarm going off ~9pm for about 30 mins due to what I was told was a faulty sprinkler system

Standard Fairfield inn Room was clean, hotel looked nice Shares a parking lot with a surprisingly good asian to-go place located in a gas station

Customer service was great Did have an issue getting someone at the front desk a couple times though It felt like it was largely unmanned However, the rest of the staff I interacted with was top notchBreakfast was greatIssues: one tv was broken However, they comped us $50 (1/3 price), so I thought that was fairA big surprise was that the indoor pool was not heated It was frigid Why bother to have an indoor pool if it’s too cold to use it for half the year? My kids were really looking forward to it (Nov stay) and they couldn’t stay in for more than a few minutes because it was that cold Should’ve brought a wetsuit :-/I did try out the pullout couch bed Felt every spring coil in the 4in mattress However, the normal beds were fine

Stayed 2 nights at this lovely B & B Place was clean and well kept Offered coffee and tea 24 hours

Loved the pottery mugs! Owner, Marsha was very nice and enjoyed talking with the guests Room and bathroom were large Nice shower! We stayed on the ground floor bedroom Stairs were stunning although I did not go upTwo complaints 1: guest in room above us talked on her phone It sounded like she was in the same room with us We could hear every word It then concerned me that maybe she could hear us Yikes!2: Breakfast Marsha was very proud of her cooking which was nice First morning we had 2 cheese filled crepes It just wasn’t enough, plus my husband is a meats man When we left we went straight to Hardee’s The next morning was 2 slices of thick French toast with what tasted like Blueberry jam in the center It was too sweet (but I ate it) Two sausage patties (yes, meat thank you) but were not warm and appeared under cookedOverall I would recommend this place

Great stay again at the Duck Smith house! Reserved room early for my wife and I to come to Seagrove for the Spring Pottery events and Marcia had everything ready for a restful overnight stay Our room was spotless and stocked with snacks and bed turned down ready for slumber later Love having coffee, tea and snacks available 24/7

You can’t beat the room rates Marcia offers, especially with the personal attention and care she gives her guests We will definitely be back, thanks Marcia!

Our stay at the Duck Smith B&B was wonderful We are new to the area and selected this spot for a 2-day visit to the pottery capital, Seagrove, NC We were delighted with our choice

The location is perfect for a visit to the area with ready access to the highway and the pottery artists The home is a beautifully restored and well-maintained farmhouse on 3 acres The owner, Marcia, has made her visitor’s comfort and enjoyment a priority Our breakfasts were delicious creations made especially for us There was plenty of coffee, tea and refreshments available all the time Marcia knows the area and shared restaurants, directions and pottery maps to help make the trip easy If you are planning a visit to Seagrove, I would recommend making the Duck Smith B&B your home base

The staff was very friendly and that is about all that is good about this hotel our stay was not good

We get there and everything seamed good the hotel looked clean, so did the room At check in they tell us the hot tub is closed and we can use the hot tub at the the other hotel next door Not a big issue But when I go down to look at the pool it is gross, like it looked like someone had thrown up in the pool and it was just floating there on top Plus the water was not clear I thought maybe it was the floor of the pool but after seeing the stuff floating I decided not to get in I went up front and told the lady and she said she had no one to fix it So she might have to close the pool She never did, I came down later because my ice bucket was dirty and the pool was still open Also our TV had black spots in it so you couldn’t really watch TV without it blocking everything The next morning we noticed more things like stains on covers and furniture My kids were really upset about the pool The breakfast was the normal fair so we decided to go else where It was probably fine I would not stay here again because it is over priced with the quality you get

Great service and amazing location However for the nightly rate I expect an updated room, or a room that reflects the price im spending The rooms smell, the carpet is old, the TV is so small and the organization is just horrible

I expect better spending that kind of money And they suspended room service which I understand but then why change the nightly rate on Friday to $190 and this is the quality I get?

Recently stayed here with another couple for a quick weekend getaway to visit the NC zoo (15 minutes) and have a relaxing Father’s day weekend Relaxing it was Beautiful established campground with a lake and a river

Our host Scott was Awesome in so many ways He was very accomodating and always attentive if we needed him in anyway but not intrusive at all The campground was very quiet with lots of wildlife including deer (and 2 fawns) Geese and ducks We had 2 travel trailers and loved our site, but, if i was a tent camper there are several Great sites along the lake or the river with full seclusion or right along with other tent campers Highly recommend this campground

What once was a thriving summer campground, full of kids, campfires, fishing and pool fun has now become a workman’s camp where residents leave at 5am and come home at 7pm, thanks to a new Toyota factory being built nearby The residents are mostly construction folks who live in their RVsThis is a new dynamic for the owners

Rather than organizing bonfires for the campers and ready the store for families looking for a snow cone, the fire pit has become overgrown since there’s nobody who would want to partake in a fire, and the shelf items in the store are stagnant (with food items being quite out of date) Also, with the per diem workers making a big paycheck, the rate for a site has gone up tooMost spots are shaded or partially shaded, and most have full hookups Some sites are VERY unlevel, but the staff is happy to bring over a loader scoop of gravel to fill in the low spots, cinderblocks, or whatever else will help you get set up Cable TV/internet is available for purchase at the local Spectrum store in town There IS free wifi available, but the signal is only in the main store area AT&T gets 2 bars (out of four), T-Mobile gets 2 bars, and Verizon gets 2 bars Water pressure is a steady 60 psi, and in the months I was there, power only went out twice, and only for a few seconds during heavy weatherI’m saddened to see the playground equipment being unused and unattended The pool sits empty most days, the patio behind the store is unused, the soda machine and jukebox haven’t been plugged in for quite some time since the guests here come home after work tired and want nothing more than a shower and bed so they can do it all again the next dayAll that being said, there are some transient sites available, and they’re the best ones in my opinion Right next to the lake, a pretty view out of the RV windows, big stone fire rings, and every site comes with some complimentary fire wood for your first night The campers leave each other alone, and the caretaker, John, is always on the lookout, so I routinely left my camper unlocked Nobody is going to steal anythingI’m hoping that once the factory is built and the workers move on to the next job that the place will go back to a robust family campground The big room in the office building was once full of kids on the video arcade machine, eating hot dogs in the booths, and playing on the pool table, but now it sits empty and unusedFor transients and people looking for one or two nights, it’s perfect The cost isn’t prohibitive, the staff is the most accommodating I’ve ever met, and the scenery is tranquilI would absolutely come back here again

We stayed there for 3 months while I was in town for a work contract Initially staff was very friendly and welcoming We were greeted at the front, shown to our campsite, and given a welcome bag

They were also accommodating when we had to postpone our visit due to Covid The campground was very quiet and people generally kept to themselves However, after staying for a while, we felt less and less comfortable and welcome We found the showers weren’t cleaned often or well lit We had leaves blown under our camper and onto all of our stuff One day we were welcomed to this sign in the bathroom (picture below – where are these cameras?!?) Staff seemed annoyed with us waving to them around the park Also, there wasn’t my much access to the Deep River We attempted to explore a bit, but it was difficult to get to There was a tiny, muddy beach with a broken set of chairs to sit on by the river I know part of this is due to Covid, and the primitive camping sites not being used, but still disappointing Of note, there are a lot of ducks and rabbits around I didn’t take away any stars for that, but just like to make a note of it in case you have dogs like mine that like to make snacks of the droppings

We stayed one evening here We asked for a quiet room and they were very accommodating Pam waited on us at the front desk and she was very helpful and made suggestions about dinner spots

We took one of her suggestions and it was a nice place The room was clean and comfortable It did have a toilet that the handle was not working properly but we just reported it when we checked out

Valona Baldwin

First, I must say that all of the Hotel staff are excellent, extremely friendly and responsive in effectively addressing my concerns The rooms are overdue for updating There is no forced ventilation in the bathroom to clear out moisture in the air from showering or rid the restroom of malodor from toilet use

Therefore the only way to “air out” the restroom is to leave the bathroom door open This is not always convenient if you are sharing the hotel room with family members Additionally, the towels and bed linens were so old that they were discolored, had staining and were worn thin from much use There were stains in the carpet as well Fortunately, the staff there was so kind and they did what they could to make us comfortable The breakfast was great and the staff ladies working in the breakfast area were very friendly and responsive

Checked in on Saturday June 18 2022 for a one night stay 3:00 check in tile but room was ready early

nice surprise Then upon checking the room it had issuesmold in the tub with some red sticky candy in the corner of tub and mold and soap scum build up in soap dish in tub The chrome towel bar in tub area was broken and just left hangingcould cut someone No amenities at sink except a bar of soap and half used bottle of body creamno shampoo or conditioner! I decided the sheets were clean and fresh so will sleep and drive back to South Carolina to take my shower!Asked housekeeping on the floor for a sewing kitshe said go downstairs and askTHEN I wanted to relax by the pool Pool CLOSED till Monday or sodo whatit is in the upper 90s outsideI inquired if just sitting by the pool to get some sun was allowed and was told sorry but no SO MUCH FOR MY 1 NIGHT STAY TO RELAX, and kiss my misspent $190 I should have stayed next door at the Hampton Pics added in support of my information Positive note AC works awesome!
