As an owner I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the room and the cigarette smoke smell This hotel should be doing extra cleaning due to COVID19 I cleaned all surfaces and picked up so much dirt I can see how this unit has been cleaned previously

It looks as though the floors had not been cleaned in a very long time This made me reluctant to use any dishes or pans in the room While working at the desk a roached crawled up the wall which further disgusted me This was suppose to be a non-smoking facility, yet there is a smoke smell especially when it rains It rained for most of the week Most of the unit had been redone with exception of the bathrooms Toilets, bathtub and fixtures need to be replaced Condo was large had newer sofa and chair, but the rest of the furniture was well used I would not stay at this time share again in the future The maintenance fees we pay each month need to be put to use at this facility This was mine and my family’s first visit to Hawaii The stay at this facility did not make it as comfortable as it could have been

Erica Lovett-Fournier

The view was amazing If you can assure yourself an ocean view, DO IT! It was close to so many things; sand beaches, the warf with many activities, farmers markets and grocery stores You can also have your groceries delivered

Parking and small amenities are included every day which is a nice break form Wyndham Those small touches make a difference The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 is because our concierge was the most rude I ever encountered in all my years with Wyndham The room’s corners were a bit dusty and the dishwasher didn’t work so well; some of the furniture slightly broken The room stuff I can overlook I would stay for sure again I would skip the concierge

Studio 6 Rosemead

i did not stay here but i was i can rate them zero because after booking my whole vacation and confirming my reservation 2 times 1 st when I made it and second while i was on vacation and both times they confirm the reservation and everything was set to go now they of arrival they cancel my reservation and I had to go a lot of problems so they canceled your reservation after been confirmed with property directly so be carefulll

Four stars because I have first world problems Obviously this place is beautiful I just think management is missing the small things that make it great Things like doors swinging the wrong way which makes it difficult to get luggage in and out

How about the fact that the sign at the pool says “poo” service? Where’s the missing L? Air conditioning is also weak The new buildings on the Kona side are absolutely a lower quality than the Kohala buildings Would I stay here again? Yes But come on Show me you actually care about your facility

Scott Moore

So far so good Like the fact that we don’t have to go back to the same spot year after year This was first time in big island

I would say this would not be good for kids Everything is on site and you take a shuttle around which was neat to all the shops This is definitely a different type of vacation compared to going to Honolulu The pace is a kotore slower and relaxed

Absolutely in love with this place Peaceful, tranquil but close enough to everything and everywhere you’d want to explore We stayed in the Red Barn, which is HUGE and so private and self-contained with everything you need including its own parking, kitchen, terrace, and lounge

It’s like a very large and very beautiful studio apartment The rest of the property is simply stunning, with breathtaking views The breakfast is some of the best on the island (especially the banana pancakes!) and the staff are so kind and helpful Boutique luxury at its best Will definitely return

Frank Walter

My partner, and friends, love this Inn The setting is spectacular, set in the middle of a coffee farm, overlooking the ocean The service from the staff was great

We really enjoyed meeting them The rooms are beautiful and the public space is charming You could easily stay on the property the whole time and have a great trip We also enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and afternoon snacks We ordered dinner in one night and ate in the dining room Was a great experience Highly recommend!

Rebecca Yount

Such an incredible stay! The inn is more beautiful in person than in pictures, and I didn’t think that was possible Hosts are very aware of current safety precautions and uphold those to the greatest extent, but there is still a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere The beautiful breakfasts, amenities, concierge guidance, and daily afternoon baked treats could not have been better

You will be so glad you booked here!

The grounds were gorgeous The staff was lovely The amenities were excellent

The bed was perfect for one of us and a little hard for the other The view of our garden from our patio was as beautiful as anything on the entire island I don’t know what’s wrong with the people who gave this place one star I think they must take negativity with them everywhere they go

Ralph Roe

Tremendous stay from the minute we arrived until we completed check-out Staff was friendly and professional and seemed to care that we were being taken care of The facility is magnificent

With the ability to use the other Hilton facilities, it opens up another opportunity to see more The two bedroom we stayed in was absolutely perfect for our stay Clean and fresh All appliances worked well and the washer/dryer is a blessing when staying a week Not sure when I will visit this site again because there are so many places still on our list, but this is definitely worth another relaxing visit About 20-25 minutes north of the Kona airport, the transit is easy So much to see within a couple hours of the Kohala Suites 1 1/2 hours to Hilo Less than an hour to Waimea and about 25 hours from Volcano National Park This was one of the best vacations we have ever taken

Lindsey Dillon

The resort itself is beautiful, staff is friendly and accommodating BUT our room was infested with roaches Like not a few an entire freaking army of them Roaches came out of the knobs on the stove, an entire family was living in the coffee pot, the bathroom had large and small roaches scurrying over the walls

I’ve stayed in many Hawaiian resorts and never seen as many roaches in the rooms as I have here Their solution was putting a few sticky traps, which did nothing

Jen Burke

We enjoyed the educational displays about Hawaiian history and culture The little shops on the first floor were so convenient! We tried the coffee and the shave ice place Rooms were fine

I booked the standard view and our rooms overlooked the tennis court and parking lot The location was nice for walking around town The little beach right outside the hotel was a good calm spot to practice our snorkel skills

Mary Perez

Location is good and easily able to walk to places to eat The coffee shop and shaved ice spot are good! The pool could be better kept and a server checking to see if anyone needed anything rather then having to go to the bar to request a drink/food The food a the grill by the pool wasn’t anything special and the drinks weren’t that great

Service was okayBiggest complaint, room only gets cleaned every 3 days Even though on the website it says daily cleaning They did not say this at check in, we had to ask why are room hadn’t been cleaned yet and that’s when we found out

Brady Timme

Way over priced for a view of the asphalt roof an parking lot Rooms were recently renovated, however it was down incredibly cheap

The bathrooms are tiny The food pricing is astronomical for what is at best, a golden corral buffet $100 for 2 to have breakfast? Come on The “free” beach chairs are a scam Kona boys beach gear only has maybe 20 chairs So if you’re not first there, you’re not getting a chair But you’ll still be charged the resort fee The parking is terrible You pay $22 a day for them to oversell the lot Multiple times we had to leave an just drive for a bit in hopes a spot was open when we got back again First night found blood on the towels Called the desk No towels were ever brought Had to go down an grab them This is an extremely expensive hotel that felt like a cheaply done motel The history in the area is amazing but there are much better hotels in the area for less The little beach access isn’t even worth it as half our visit it was filled with boats doing a regatta so you could not safely swim as they were constantly launching boats on the beach Everything about this hotel is over booking and charging an hoping the consumers don’t actually try to use all amenities they’re being charged for

The Bay Club is perfect! The suites are quite spacious There were 4 of us staying here and we never felt like we were tripping over each other The bedrooms are quite large

The living room and dining room areas were very comfortable The balconies provide ample space to comfortably hang out and enjoy the views of the mountainWe’ve stayed in three Hilton resorts on the island, and this is by far the best and roomiest I would definitely recommend stating here I can assure you, I will be a return guest

Erik Olson

We stayed here for 10 days during our Hawaii trip and loved it Rooms are spacious with a good view We enjoyed a turkey outside one day and all the feral cats

Three pools were available, and our 7 year old couldn’t stay out of the water It was nice to be able to grill at night alsoThis was our first time at a resort, so we have no comparison, but it was a great experience

Paul McClaren

The rooms haven’t been upgraded in a really long time The washing machine sounds like it is on its last legs There are next to no places to charge devices

The TVs are dumb so you can’t get Netflix or Prime They don’t heat the pools However, the grounds are beautiful and the lanai is really nice This is a great place for adults that just want to relax and enjoy The golf course is also really nice if you golf I don’t

Super clean and sanitized Beds are comfy except for the sofa bed in the living room (hard) you better off sleeping on the sofa itself Pools are clean and maintained with grills to BBQ

Common ground BBQ grill and fitness area Cultural Activities in the front of hotel Quiet and spacious rooms Master room has a soak tub, stand up shower, and toilet room The other room has a big bed and connects to another bathroom with access to living room Kitchenette with pots, pans and utensils Coffee pot, toaster and blender Big porch to lounge with a huge wooden table and chairs to eat family meals This was a great experience for our entire family of 3 cabanas Quiet time is from 10pm to 7am

Loved the dining outdoors!Quiet area! They offered lei making and activities which was very nice!Room had its own laundry!Of course we had to attend a presentation, and our rep was really cool Not pushy at all honestly! The resort is located within walking distance to shops and restaurants! 15-20min walkI’d stay here again! Definitely!

Marcia Herrera

Where do I begin the resort is well maintained, the floral landscape, the rooms, the pool/spa area The grounds offer such invitation to relax I traveled with my 7&9 year to celebrate my 50th birthday and low and behold the answer to my prayers was “Ms

Joy” resort coordinator She was phenomenal! Each days activity offers more information on the Hawaiian culture, dance, Leis, history, the arts and crafts so much opportunity to have family fun! She shared information for local dinning, swim, etc I loved the resort but her contribution as activity coordinator MADE this trip a trip of a lifetime!

Our Villa was huge, clean, and included all the amenities we needed They even provided a kettle (us Brits and our tea!) and had a 4 night stay here Location was great for the airport and exploring and was in a lovely location, grounds were immaculately looked after the ‘quiet’ pool was just what we wanted to relax in the sunshine! Would definitely use this resort again if we were visiting the ‘Big Island’

All the staff were very helpful and accommodating so thanks for making our stay so memorable 🙂

Emanuele Orru’

the rooms are very spacious and well equipped At the time of my stay they were NOT made, which could be a problem for longer stays The hotel is a little old looking but offers a great value for money in an insanely expensive island

Bear in mind the big island is BIG, and If you want to go to the really nice beaches (which are few, about 2-3) you’ll have to drive ~45-60 mins Same goes for the really nice restaurants, which are in the super high end resorts There is no beach access and the very nearby beach is not really usable Conveniently located near a good shopping mall Again, for the price relatively to the location, a very good deal

Dave Adams

(Previous review was for a different location Let me fix this! 🙂) Very happy with the location, staff, and amenities

Came here for a week on honeymoon It was quiet, off the main tourist strip (bonus), nice bar next to the pool, close to the ocean and local shopping, room was clean and well-apportioned Parking was plentiful and always close to our room Separate pool for adults only was a blessing for us (no screaming kids 😃) If we come back to Hawaii we would certainly stay again

The resort itself is villa style and very beautiful Lots of gorgeous vegetation all around the resort The resort is very clean and the areas well taken care of

The room was nice and spacious and had a full kitchen There are tennis and pickle ball courts but you can only use them if you brought your own equipment which is quite crazy considering you’re on vacationIt is definitely a place you want to get a car rental for There is a free shuttle that you can take to the town centre from Longs Drugstore but you do have to do a 15 min walk up hill to catch it You can’t go very far with itMost of the resort staff including maintenance were very friendly and nice The front desk staff were helpful and kind The reason for the 3 star rating was the activities rep She was very rude and not helpful in any manner She first refused to help us saying my moms name was not on the account We then contacted our timeshare company and they ensured us it was She is the only activities rep and is off on weekends So we had to wait two days to inquire again We went back on Monday and she refused to help us again or even allow us to go to a timeshare presentation as my dad (mom’s husband) was not present She said my mom needed my dads permission to book anything including activities She refused to book anything or give any information as my dad physically wasn’t here This is the first time we have ever experienced this at any resort She also denied me the opportunity to go to the timeshare presentation on my own being a single woman saying I didn’t qualify but couldn’t tell me why It was a very sexist experience and really spoiled some of our trip

Alize Magyar

Place was beautiful and the suites were well stocked Staff, guests and resident interactions were friendly Beds were comfortable and the suite in general had everything you need to cook any meal

Just need to bring spices and condiments In-suite laundry is always a bonus Look forward to staying here again next time we are on the big island

Geoff rothmsn

We have been staying at this condo annually for at least the past fifteen years…we love the big units, free parking, access to stores, restaurants, etc fortunately, it’s rarely in demand, so its pretty easy to book, and a wonderful place to relax It is a bit long in the tooth, and more like something from the 1980’s, which is fine with us

Definitely a great value

this place is great man 😁 find the pool that points at the ocean that was nice

clean airy walking distance to the cool stuff on Ali’ibut the whole reason I was excited to write this review is because the desk clerk saved my butt by printing something important for me and I’m almost certain she stayed late to do it for me because it took me a bit of time to compose it random I know but sincere I would love to stay here again

Nancy Macedo

Stayed for 12 nights for our vacation Pros: parking included, 2 types of pools and hot tub (which you will need after hikes), very quite given there were lots of people around, bbqs for use, friendly staff, comes with washer/dryer and full kitchenCons: it’s not cheap, heard of complaints of being out dated but my unit was just updated and looked fantastic, cleaning fee which I knew about before booking and agreed

Overall would return It was fairly close to everything we needed I felt safe – there is night security on the property Given the length of our trip, washer and dryer were really helpful I was charged an unknown fee while we stayed there and questioned it immediately There was no explanation and it was reserved As always, keep an eye on all your credit cards (regardless of vacation or everyday use) Customer service for that was excellent

Joe Masserini

The view is amazing with oceanside pools and breathtaking sunsets The pools themselves were nice with a small hot tub near the Quiet Pool and reasonable lounge chair availability The public propane grills were convenient when we wanted to eat in and the hotel has a tropical ambience the way they designed the interior of the structure (rooms open to the outdoors, trees and a stream / little waterfall help set the mood)

The beds were super comfortable The only problem was we had a bit of a gnat issue in our otherwise pleasant two-bedroom room The front desk sent someone to spray almost immediately and it helped for a while but they have to root out the nest or somethingThe resort itself is close to all sorts of activities and restaurants and the island, while big, was small enough for us to easily take day trips to the other side We didn’t walk anywhere but you could; the road has a bike / walking strip and crossing areas Easy proximity to a grocery store and a Walmart made purchasing forgotten items and food a breeze Parking under the resort got a little quirky since many of the spaces are reserved for full-time residents but that wasn’t anything more than a mild inconvenienceThis was a solid four-star stay

Nice, unexpected surprise, but the check-in process was a complete disaster Short-staffed front desk made the wait incredibly long even at off hours The staff member who finally waited on us, however, was extremely efficient

I only booked one night to be close to the airport for an early morning flight but I wish it had been a longer stay The bar area and restaurant is right on the water but not all seats have an ocean view The pool area looked great The room was updated and the bed was very comfortable I’d definitely return if I’m ever back on the island

H G

Nice older property Renovated rooms are better than average Comfortable King bed

Daily housekeeping, which is a rarity these days, was a welcome perk and kept things nice and clean The luau was fun Beautiful location on the shore, but no beach, just lava rocks Downtown has it’s seedy areas and problems If you’re coming to the big island, this is a solid choice for a decent price, but I’d recommend you skip the big island altogether Outside of the volcano, there is little draw and the smaller islands are nicer

Stephany Vargas

Great place over all! Always kept the room clean and refilled Very nice pool, but absolutely loved the ocean pool! We also loved the refillable water bottle station The sliding doors were very loud, it was a good way to wake each other up 😂 The view was definitely the best

Everything was conveniently at walking distance, like beaches, shops, and restaurants All good places They offer a lot! (Took these epic pics at the hotel)

A truly amazing resort with the most attentive and kind staff This property is one of the most stunning resorts I have been too Offering 4 different pools, 5 different restaurants, and oceanfront access you have everything you need here

Our hotel room was spacious, beautifully designed, clean, and best of all… one of the most comfy beds I’ve ever slept in! Cannot recommend this establishment more

Vivienne Doyle

My husband and I just stayed here for our honeymoon and it was everything we wanted and more! Our room was excellent and the resort itself is amazing Our room had complimentary champagne and goodies and there was a card congratulating us Everything you need/want is on the resort from activities to dining

The staff was beyond compare Literally every single person we came into contact with was helpful and extremely polite and somehow all the servers and the like remembered us by name despite seeing hundreds of people a day We also recommend getting their detoxifying mud & volcanic clay application, it was our favorite!

My wife and I booked for five nights I’m a hot sleeper, and so without a cooling mattress pad, I cannot sleep well unless the bedroom is at or below 63 degrees F I was told by hotel staff that their A/C system in their rooms could provide this

But after the first night it was clear the “coolest” their system could reach was 69 degrees Even with the ceiling fan on and covered with only a sheet, I literally woke up dripping sweat It was miserableThe front desk suggested, of course, that I talk to engineering And, of course, the engineer told me – in the most disdainful manner that I have ever been spoken to by anyone – that they would have to change the systems of the entire resort in order to change mine, implying that was clearly out of the questionThe bed was also extremely soft, so much so that my back went out I asked them twice the 2nd day if they could provide a firmer mattress, which they twice refused After desperately asking a third time, they agreed but the replacement was so hard it was actually painful to sleep on, since I’m a side sleeperI also dropped off two silk shirts the morning after I arrived for their “24 hour” dry cleaning service After 34+ hours later had to call to ask why the shirts had not been returned When they were finally returned, my black shirt had visible white spots on it (soap?), some of which I rinsed out in the sink and hand-dried with the hair dryer When I got tired of that I called housekeeping and asked why my shirts were returned with spots on them I was told, dismissively, that there were no spots on them So, apparently, both my wife and I were hallucinatingAfter two nights I asked to check out early, in order to end this torture session I was told that I would have to pay a penalty fee!Keep in mind that we were paying several thousand dollars a night for this place Service this bad is simply not worth that price In fact it’s not worth any priceWe won’t be returning

I stayed at Kona Sea Side Hotel for two nights The room was clean, the king bed was comfortable and the AC was cold I got the best sleep in a long time! The staff was pleasant and the location can not be beat

I really did not need a car for the two night stay There’s a great beach suitable for kids and elderly within a two minute walk I would stay here again!

The room was freshly decorated and the air conditioner worked great! The grounds are beautiful! Only three stars because there is no closet or dresser – they have a free standing unit to hang your clothes but my maxi dress/ moo moo hit the floor Also the bathroom counter is sloped so everything round kept rolling off There is a foam mattress on a platform bed in the room we stayed in that is a shin killer! The bed platform sticks out beyond the mattress so we both hit our ankles and shins! Be aware if you stay in the garden area like we did, there is no elevator so you’re hauling your luggage up and down stairs

But the biggest annoyance we had is there is no fan in the bathroom It has a great location though and the staff all had the aloha spirit!

The hotel is away from the the ocean so there is no ocean view from the second floor It has basic necessities like a small refrigerator and writing desk There are no USB ports, so bring a charger adapter

The beds are very small, possibly fulls, not queens The A/C is nice but it’s in an odd spot You can have cool air but not a dark room It does its job as a place to sleep and it has old school appeal but if you’re looking for more, look elsewhere

Just recently stayed here for my honeymoon for 11 days and 10 nights The women at the office were very nice The room was absolutely great

Stocked with everything needed and the view from the balcony was absolutely beautiful The pool and hot tub was always kept clean and being so close to Honl’s beach was awesome Its located right on the strip with all the best restaurants, bars and shopping plazas in Kona Highly recommend anyone staying here and I can’t wait to come back!!!!

Our trip this year was to go to Kona for our honeymoon and we ended up staying at the Kona Reef Resort in A4 Every morning we were waking nicely by the sound of crashing waves outside our patio and every evening we got to enjoy a beautiful sunset The place is located very close to town in walking distance and buy many wonderful restaurants When we come back to the island we would always request this room and of course this resort

One of the best experiences of our lives

I have rented my friends room a couple times and never felt so awkward in my entire life as indirectly at the pool people who work on the complex made subliminal messages making me feel uncomfortable and one of them thought they were being sneaky by questioning my children They then felt uncomfortable to even swim and my children do not ever act in a way we felt today! I love the views I love the room I rent but I felt very uncomfortable I will not take this down as no one should ever have to feel this way
