I booked reservation here as a traveler for work Reservation was to be for almost two months When I first spoke to front desk/management, they ensured that rates would be set for extended stay travelers; as that was a concern for me because we were going into “tourist season”

Once again, was ensured that rate was set After about two weeks from moving in, I get a letter under my door that states my rate is increasing by an additional $170/night due to high demand This was a 4 day notice, of which other extended travelers got as well Unfortunately, at $230/night; I am unable to afford that (that is before taxes as well) Manager even said “it is what it is” Now I am checking out Friday (before the rate increases) and have no place to stay Management here does not care about the nurses who traveled to help out at the local hospital It would be one thing if they told me rates would be increasing However, they stated it would not, but then continued to do so

This hotel was a knight in shining armor for us after cancelling our stay at a terrifyingly disgusting hotel across town The price was incredible for a room with a kitchenette, couch, desk, bed, and nicely sized bathroom The staff was welcoming and the room even smelled clean when we walked in

We could not have asked for better, much less as a last second booking

The front staff was kind but the breakfast staff was quite rude The rooms were nice and my only concerns with them were the blinds that would shut all the way, 1 or 2 hairs in the bathroom from prior guest, and that the bed was quite cold but I get that many like cold sheets

The bathroom was very clean and I was comfortable showering there The breakfast had a good selection and had sweet treats too The pool looked a bit dirty because it was foggy and dark The air conditioning was rusty but the hot tub was nice It smelled really strongly of chlorine but the room was warm The location was nice since it was just a few 25 minutes from Mount Rushmore I recommend if you are going during 3-4 of July

Chandelle Brink

Excellent hotel! Very clean and quiet

Made for just the restful night I needed The rooms were large so I did not feel claustrophobic The swimming pool and hot tub were clean and perfect temperature to get a good swim in then relax in the hot water The breakfast is not my style but many that were eating there were very happy with the hot breakfast I will definitely plan to stay again

Kirstine Johnson

Very clean, spacious rooms at a good price Front desk agent was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient Breakfast choice offered up everything: fruit, cereal, pancakes (made to order ), sausage links and patties, biscuits, gravy, Cinnamon rolls, toast/bagels

Fairly new hotel No walking distance restaurants but a large gas station with nice convenience store across the street Would definitely stay there again

The rooms were relatively clean No smell Lots of dust, which you notice more without carpet

The front desk was rarely there I don’t understand why there isn’t anyone in helping to check in but you need to call to get someone to help you check in Breakfast was good Laundry was good Overall was good place-1 star for the lack of 24/7 receptionist

This hotel was exceptional! We came to Rapid City for a few days to see the sights and enjoyed staying at this hotel The hotel had a modern style and the rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable They had a large variety for breakfast such as pancakes 🥞, sausage, scrambled eggs, yogurt, bagels 🥯, English muffins/toast, cereal, and juice

We did do make it to the pool/hot tub due to sight seeing but we were very pleased with the breakfast selection & comfortable rooms Checkout was at 11am and the front desk staff were very helpful and insightful for sight seeing around Rapid City & Mt Rushmore The lobby in the hotel was very cool It had a pool table and a place to play board games Next to the front desk was a small storefront where guests could shop for travel essentials, drinks, & snacks Overall we really enjoyed this hotel and would stay again!

This is the second Tru by Hilton we have been to and we have been completely satisfied Staff was nice, they were also very busy We had to use the laundry facility and that was clean and updated Would stay again

Stayed here for five nights while on vacation in South Dakota While the location was great, the hotel was really the best part! We had two cats, and the staff at the front desk waived the pet fee for our last couple nights The room was exceptionally clean upon arrival

The bathroom was great (water pressure, heat, etc all awesome) and we had more than enough towels for three people Breakfast was at a good time every day and there was always enough food no matter what time we arrived (plus fresh coffee all hours)While you can hear noise from rooms in the hallway, it’s very quiet once you’re inside Though other pets were also there, we heard hardly no noise from the rooms on our floor and slept very well The staff were all incredibly helpful during the booking process and throughout our stayIf we are ever in Rapid City, we will most definitely be staying here again, and I really recommend this place for families or folks with pets!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel We stayed in a king jacuzzi suite, which cost me less than $160 using military / veteran discount We had spent the last 3 days hiking and camping in Custer State Park and the jacuzzi tub was just what we needed

The hot breakfast was actually a full breakfast not just waffles and stale donuts a lot of other places give you I give it five star all around based upon my expectations for the price point Everything in a room was clean and smelled fresh and the air conditioning was 100% controllable by us, not preset by hotel staff

Take101away

This is a very clean and nice hotel It also wasn’t a dingy atmosphere which always make the stay more enjoyable and relaxing The free breakfast tho isn’t the best hotel breakfast I’ve had, but that is more personal based

Although at night the doors are loud and at times when trying to sleep it did sound like our door was being opened or tried to be open, which is not what you want when trying to sleep But it got better our second night It is a little more spendy then I would like for only 2 nights but overall all I would recommend staying at this hotel If the price isn’t that much of an issue and you prefer a nice clean atmosphere though out the whole hotel They also have a great pool with a slide and two hot tubs, because we all know the feeling of going to the pool and seeing a group of strangers just sitting in the one small hot tub, not talking 😂 But yea, good hotel

We stayed 3 nights over Easter Room was spacious, clean, and quiet Loved the kitchen area in our room! This Made it easier for us to make some meals and snacks in our room

Water pressure was fantastic Beds were a bit uncomfortable but not terrible Breakfast was great! Many options and friendly staff Pool area was small and the pool water was very cold The hot tub was nice and warm though Sketchy RV parked out back of hotel with people in and out An arena football team also stayed on our floor As long as we stayed in our room, we didn’t hear their party or smell the cigarettes and marijuana coming from various rooms We would definitely stay here again It is not the hotel staffs fault that people abuse the privilege of staying in a hotel Overall, a great stay! The 2 bedroom suites are fantastic for a family!

This place will be at top of our list for stay, if we visit Rapid City next timeAmazing service from staff all around, including front-desk (Steve)Breakfasts (included) were good, and they had variety in hot dishes served over 3 mornings we were there

Rooms and bathrooms were clean, and beds were comfortable

R C

We were happy with our 5 night stay at the GrandStay Residential Suites Hotel We booked the hotel initially because of the price, and found the room, location and service were above our expectations We had a queen suite, and found the bed comfortable

The bathroom is of average size The kitchen didn’t have a stellar stock of cooking items, though Housekeeping was not available during our stay, but towels could be exchanged by leaving them in a provided laundry basket outside our doorThe breakfast is well done, and plentiful, even under busy conditions The pool area was inside and worked for our needs Laundry machines are available and detergent is included in the price Overall, I would recommend this location There is an Appleby’s, IHOP, and Chili’s within walking distance from the location

Hampton Inn desperately needs to update this location The carpet and beds had a distinct “bad feet” smell The bathroom lighting was poor

The location itself was a dusty, shady parking lot The AC unit was insanely loud and temperamental The facility was not up to the typical standard of cleanliness at other locations If this had been a Comfort Inn or a Travelodge (or similar location) it would have been expected But it’s not Hampton Inn quality at all Save your money and try elsewhere

Raman Pfaff

One of my worst Hampton Inn experiences Thin walls, rather filthy on carpeting in hallways, kids were running around dropping pool towel in hallways while knocking on doors for fun

I never saw more than one person at the counter while I was there despite long lines at the counter Desk staff didn’t do well answering the questions of others Washer/dryer were very old models Thankfully they at least have the standard digital checkin

Tammy Hester

Staff entered our room 2 times unannounced, with the do not disturb sign o door knob First time I was on the toilet and second time I was in the shower Then a couple had a staff member outside our door claiming someone was in their room and my husband had to clear things up

Then 5 people had their luggage stolen from our tour group This place is not running properly

After a great experience at a different location, I booked 3 nights here When we arrived late in the evening we were not given the room we reserved The sheets in our room were dirty and there were holes in the sheets

The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes (I have pictures) I complained at the front desk and was told they couldn’t cancel our reservation without charges for the next 2 nights until I spoke with the manager Had to cancel before 11 but the manager didn’t come in until after that They didn’t care or offer any discount for giving us a dirty room I would never stay here again

Heidi Glood

Customer service was extremely poor There were no sheets, pillow cases, blankets or mattress cover for the pull out bed When I called the front desk and I asked for linens, as there were none, I was told that I would have to come to the front desk to get them

I told the front desk that this would not be possible as I had my young children with me The staff informed me that I would have to leave my young children alone as there was no way they could bring the linens to my room Watiki Water Park is no longer included with your stay and was an additional $104 for 3 children and 1 adult and that’s w a ‘discount’ for spending $300 for a suite on a Tuesday night You are not allowed to buy your passes at the hotel front desk; instead you have to scan a QR code, create an account, pay on a confusing web page, and then sign waivers for everyone in your group (Exactly what you want to do with 3 kids in tow at the end of a long day) Towels are $8 at the pool You are not allowed to pay cash for snacks at the arcade but you CAN pay cash to put money on the arcade card As you exit the water park, there are no signs to direct you back to your 1 out of 5 hotels on site No parking for the hotel near the entrances The only parking available was in an adjacent parking lot that was dark and full of construction equipment and vehicles Staff appeared to be more annoyed with customers than willing to help All said and done, it was a $500-$600 stay for a Tuesday night, a water park, a few arcade games, and 1 pizza No thanks!

Dee Bejarano

The hotel is clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful Because of the attached Waterpark, it is more of a family hotel So if you’re not a fan of the pounding of little feet running above you, maybe it’s not the place for you

Good thing most drop like rocks by 9p NONETHELESS, the hotel itself is nice and clean Thank you to the staff!

This is a hard place to review

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is good and the place is reasonably clean I want to rate the staff at 5 because they really are great and accommodating I just don’t see the value in pricing with no continental breakfast, pool, or significant amenities The beds lack the bed bug protective covers and the hand sanitizing stations were often empty These are definitely things that should be tended to On the positive side, there is also a large fridge with top freezer in the room and a cook top range that makes for a convenient amenity Would I stay again? Not sure Would probably give it a second try

Holly R

We had a lovely 4 night stay here The room was sparkling clean and the beds were super comfy (with different firmness pillows to choose from!) The hotel is in a great location, slightly away from downtown but with easy access to the highway

Having the kitchen is great, it saves you so much money – just remember to bring cookware and utensils

Austin Atk

MILITARY MEMBERS I stayed in the My place hotel while my wife and I were waiting for on-base housing Our experience here was pretty good, the hotel came with stove tops and a microwave Though the fridge was smaller than most household refrigerators I think the size of the room helped compensate

I had to pleasure of meeting the owner and he agreed to lower my weekly rates to help match my BAH I am not sure of he will do this for all member, but he said he wanted our business, even without lowering my rate I was really only 200 dollars out of pocket a month The hotel cleaners kept the room clean, but we did notice that they wouldn’t always change the bed sheets which is reasonable to wash at least once a month The only bad thing that happened was near the of our stay, when the hotel accidentally changed our rate far beyond the extended stay rate All in all they over charged us for some 400 dollars and when we brought the concern up they said they’d refund us for the the difference They eventually did but it took almost a month and a half to get the refund back Overall a real solid place to stay if you have a small family and are waiting for proper housing

The hotel is clean Very reasonable on priceThey do allow animals

The staff sucksafter a long day of driving I would hope to be greeted by a person with a smile not someone who doesn’t even look at you I was impressed with my room but extremely disappointed with the front desk staff We arrived around 9:30 pm

Simon Baker

The bed was lumpy & hard Something was wrong with the sound on the TV The bathtub was scary

Shiny porcelain Very slipperyNothing to hang onto or slip control at all The toilet was very low to the groundVery cold pool Nice hot tubBreakfast was good Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, malted waffles, cereals, & pastries

Roshni Patel

Staff was friendly and I was in my room within a few minutes of arriving to check in There is a gym that has 2 bikes, a treadmill, and an elliptical They were all creaky and not the best but it served it’s purpose for a quick workout

I didn’t like that there was a large window that looked right into the swimming pool area though Felt a little awkward since there were a ton of people in the pool The beds were comfy and room was very clean so no complaints there Breakfast was simple but served it’s purpose There is a Marco’s Pizza attached to the building so if you want a quick bite, you don’t have to go far

We loved our stay here We were on our way through Rapid City and made our reservation for the same day, the front desk staff was super helpful as we got in that eveningWe weren’t really expecting more than a bed and a tv but the suites are beautiful and clean

Full sized refrigerator and dishwasher in the kitchen along with plates/bowls/cups Dog friendly! The breakfast was great, waffles, cereal, eggs, oatmeal etc plus it was clean and sanitary They also had a great coffee/tea bar Would 10/10 recommend this hotel especially for an extended stay!

Shannen McCullough

Checked in today and am SO very impressed with the beautiful room (like a newer apartment) with a full kitchen (full sized refrigerator, dishwasher, dishes, microwave) and a beautiful lobby and outside area in back INCREDIBLY CLEAN!! SPOTLESS! Friendly front desk employees, and the whole place is immaculate! Have traveled from Washington state to Kentucky and back three times in the last six months and along different routes and have stayed at so many places that were not nearly this nice and a lot of them higher priced (some disgusting) and I really appreciate a CLEAN room Prices change seasonally but for around $100, this place is a steal

Stayed in Deadwood last night for $30 more at a top rated hotel and it was not nearly this nice or this clean Definitely recommend! Way to go Staybridge Rapid City!!

Quick hop off the interstate Loved that it was connected to the awesome water park, was a bit bummed the pools weren’t open later and the bar closes at 11 We were able to swim a bit more in the morning and check out the arcade before checking out AND they gave us a complimentary beverage that I used just in time for a relaxing beer right before they closed

Nice, clean and amazingly quiet Laundry machines worked well, front desk helpful, beds nice and firm but light shined through the door frame from the hallway and I should have brought a sleep mask Would definitely stay again

Matt Williams

The water park keeps our family entertained here and the hotel staff was excellent! DG at the front desk was awesome and helped me change my reservation when my plans changed suddenly

Also, the rooms were very clean The breakfast was really tasty too! Waffles especially are our family favorite! The kitchen breakfast staff was very friendly and quick to refill items that ran out- apply juice and waffle mix go fast She kept the whole area neat and clean Definitely plan to return in the future!

Rebecca Fisher

First off we didn’t know it had a water park! That made my kids day Second they have an excellent bar in which the water slide goes right through The slide has a transparent section so you can see your kids sliding while you have a drink

The staff was incredibly friendly as well! There are many things to do and discounts on all Water park was 20% off, drinks were but one get one free, breakfast is free, coffee is Starbucks and 15% offThe rooms are clean and beautiful Beds are super comfyThe front desk staff was so helpful and kind Jacob went above and beyond for us even offering to call up to our room once the water park reopened after being closed for lightening And because it was closed, they extended the passes through tomorrow morningWe will definitely stay here again and Jacob needs a raise!

When I stay at a hotel by myself it’s to sleep When I stay at a hotel with my family it’s for the kids to use the pool after driving 8 hours When the pool heater is broken and the water is 56 degrees my entire family is wondering why dad picked the Holiday Inn instead of the other brand we always stay at

I had some leftover points to burn and in the end we definitely did not get burned by the broken ice cold pool Front desk staff could care less Holiday Inn booking line just transfers you to the hotel for concerns Thanks for the 5,000 point gift because our stay was a total let down You’re welcome for my 40,000 point donation in return Won’t be back here ever again One block away is a hotel that will never let you down

We had a suite, room 138 It was absolutely the best room we had on our 2 week vacation Spacious, clean, ready early, well located on the property

Extend our stay an extra day and not switching rooms was no problem The staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay Breakfast was included and decent Be wary of parking the lot gets quite full after about 10pmWill 100% recommend this to anyone I know going to Keystone Also will definitely stay there again myself

Make sure you understand what you are booking when making a reservation here We stayed with a large group, so we got to see that there is a HUGE difference between the remodeled rooms here and the ones many in our group got stuck in The king suites have been remodeled and are very nice

The rooms with 2 queen beds are a bit cheaper, and possibly the worst accommodations I’ve ever stayed in! Our people that stayed in the king suites had a nice place to relax, nice sofa, even a fireplace, and everything was super new, nice, and clean Back in our room, the furniture was made of wooden twigs, no place to do so much as lean your back on and not be in pain, and everything felt old and dirty I would have gladly paid the extra $20 a night just to have a nice place to relax Parking was insufficient, we had to cut our days short just to not be the last back at night and risk not being able to park at the hotel There is plenty of parking across the street in the grass, but there are signs up stating: “no overnight parking” Nobody knows whyOn the bright side and the only reasons for a second star: the staff was very friendly, breakfast was good (yes an actual breakfast, they’re done pretending like we can’t eat breakfast due to Covid thank goodness!)Had we stayed in one of the king suites this would be a 5 star review despite the parking Be honest on your website Rushmore Express, so that people know what they are buying; your site is so misleading to those that get stuck in the not-remodeled 2-queen rooms Most will pay an extra $20 to stay in a nice room, but most won’t pay $120 a night to stay in a dive

Nice Hotel Our room was spacious with adequate towels and sheets for additional sleepers Beds were comfortable and the kitchen table was large seating 6 comfortably

However the main TV in our room was really small for the size of the living room and the breakfast was severely lacking with no dietary options Checkout was easy and the receptionist was very helpful directing us to our next destination

For finding a place to stay for a central location was great My only problem was we were staying 5 nights Our room was never cleaned daily

We had to keep asking for clean towels and coffee Room had a funky smell We had to buy febreeze to kill the smell I had to keep emptying the trash in our room daily I’m not trying to sound picky But we have NEVER stayed where we didn’t have a daily clean

I choose this hotel for two reasons, one being the location and second being the hotel styleThe hotel has a great location, downtown, close to lots of restaurants which you can walk to it There is also a good restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel

Room was good and modern looking Super clean and organized I was put in the far end of the hallway so it wasn’t loud However the heater (we went in March and was a little cold) is was super loud, but that is not news for me The nice thing is you can turn it off during the night so that was goodThis hotel is decent one, not too expensive and either too cheap Wifi speed was good, free parking, I got free breakfast at the restaurant bellow (which was 10 dollars per person) My room had two queen bed The only thing I can complain about is my room didn’t have a mini fridge Maybe some rooms have it, but mine didn’t so just fyi That didn’t bother me thoughI highly recommend this hotel is you are looking for in the middle range price

I brought my family here and we were not happy, rooms have no fridge no microwave, or the basic essentials that should be in a hotel room, the restaurant was closed for dinner and you had to pay for breakfast As a best western member 30+ years I’ve never seen a best western like this Never in my 30 years of staying at a best western have I ever had to pay for breakfast

The service is terrible and some are rude My family and I were supposed to be staying a few nights here and had already paid for the upcoming nights but we went to the front desk and told them to cancel the next few nights reservation and we stayed at a best western down the road which was amazing

No complaints here about this hotel! The rooms were very clean and had very nice comfortable beds! We also were able to choose what floor we wanted to stay on! The staff was kind enough to also let us bring our luggage early while we waited for checking in while we toured around town We also needed a place for our luggage for a couple hours after check out and they let us hold our bags there then too!It was great having a workout facility and a couple restaurants to hang out at as well during our stay! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Stayed here for a night with my team It was a very unique hotel and maintained very well Some of the decor was interesting

The room overall was extremely clean (a tad small) The service at the front desk was very quick and the staff were friendly Its in a great location In town, walking distance to everything Also downstairs is a full bar and a large Starbucks It’s a comfortable place to stay while in Rapid City

We stayed here on a Wednesday night in July The hotel is historic and has an interesting history Our room was requested to be quiet and was on the third floor where most of the offices are

It was quiet It was also tiny The bathroom light and fan are attached to the same switch and the fan sounds like an airplane on liftoff Every time one of us was in the bathroom, the fan noise was deafening to whoever was in bed Other than that, the room was comfortable, and breakfast the next day was delicious The service was not particularly fast but the waiter was kind

We had an amazing stay I will say when we pulled up we were pretty nervous about what we were getting into when we saw it was under construction and many workers were parked in the parking lot However, to our surprise it didn’t interfere with our stay at all

The front desk gentleman was yawning the whole time and not really saying much, but the other lady was fantastic and interjected some information and was really kind to our daughter Maybe he was training? The pool area, hot tub, sauna, and fitness area were really nice The hotel room was clean and had plenty of space in the king/ sofa bed for the three of usAnd the breakfast??? amazing! Breakfast coupons were included with our room booking and kids ate free We ordered from a menu and all had great food Our server was also great The glass elevators and open concept really elevated the experience as well

Kurt

My experience here was awesome! Chris at the counter was extremely fast and helpful Quiet room, comfortable bed, fast elevators The breakfast was amazing and Mr Fajar my server was arguably the best I’ve ever seen

Nice job guys The hostess at the restaurant was also a complete Delight I’m not often able to give such a shining review!
