Non-smoker room smelled like water damage and smoke We were supposed to stay for two days but my 1 year old daughter broke out in hives and could barely breathe after the first night She also had dirt stains all over her clothes from crawling on the floor

The outside of the hotel is not in great shape either The front desk did not care at all Would never recommend this place to anyone Spend your money somewhere else

This is a nice hotel convenient to the 101 freeway There’s a gas station right across the street The rooms have kitchens including a microwave, fridge, stove and a dishwasher

There’s a small dining area with a table and chairs Unfortunately the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete and the A/C was noisy The free breakfast has hot items like biscuits and sausage, plus waffles, bagels, toast, etc The coffee was great The staff were helpful There’s no restaurant so you have to go about 5 miles to find any but there are many to choose from

I had previously stayed here and my visits were always great however I tried to Block about 12 rooms for my wedding about five months before every time I would call they wouldn’t tell me that A manager would call me back to confirm a week ago I called and the same thing happened the girl on the other line told me I was also a manager would call me just to double check all the dates and confirm however I didn’t hear back from the manager I called this morning and come to find out that they are totally booked for the days I’m asking and the only thing available would be Friday nights mind you I need a room is from Thursday to Sunday This is so frustrating because now I have to try and look for another hotel that will accommodate all the rooms and have these available for my wedding that’s in less than a week

katrina gorgy

The front desk agent said my guest room number out loud during check-in instead of pointing to it like they are supposed to The staff in the hotel industry are instructed to not even say the room number out loud for privacy and safety reasons (seems like common sense) The guest may choose to read their room number aloud from the key jacket but the staff is only to point to it when handing over the key cards

I felt very unsafe and shocked when my room number was announced for everyone to hear The agents need better safety and common sense training Please do better

No hot water I asked several times about the lack of hot water and I was told to just let the water run for 5 to 10 minutes I felt bad about wasting so much water but let it run and it never warmed up

When I complained at the front desk they told me they couldn’t do anything but they would have management contact me Of course management never did contact me I felt a partial refund would have been appropriateThe room itself was clean and efficient A little small, but not an actual issue Parking was tight, but was able to park in a covered spaceNot sure I’d recommend it based on management and the lack of hot water, especially not at the price we paid

PET OWNERS STAY AWAY, Poor Customer Service! This place lists as pet friendly, but I did not receive a welcoming experience by one particular receptionist When I booked, I confirmed with the initial receptionist that I would be bringing my small dog She confirmed this was okay and sent me my receipt

However, when I was a half hour away on the day of check-in, there was another receptionist who called me to say the hotel had made an error by booking me in my suite, and there would be an increase in daily pet fee I explained that my dog was an ESA, certified by primary care MD, hypoallergenic, well-behaved, and traveled and flew with me everywhere She was unapologetic, and rather than argue with her, I agreed to pay the difference as I was limited in options to book elsewhere because of the same day arrivalThe suite in itself, had some cleanliness issues – the hot tub had what appeared to be blood so was unable to use it, there was a 6 inch strand of blonde hair (I have black) on one of my towels, a used sponge for cleaning dishes, balcony that was filled with balls/sticks from the tree, and the heater rattled which needs repair I unfortunately had a poor experience with the one receptionist so was unable to request for these to be fixed When I explained some of the problems at check-out, the receptionist immediately compensated me to my original pet fee and stated she would look into the other itemsAll in all, save yourself the headache, and book your stay elsewhere!

My husband and I were just looking for an affordable clean place to sleep/shower and this little hotel was perfect When you walk into the room you can smell it’s been cleaned It was small but comfortable

Loved how it was in walking distance to everything We also had breakfast included at their restaurant and that was good as well We had an issue with our shower and they switched us to another room without hassle Could use some better sound proofing but overall a great place to stay

Wasn’t able to get the TV to work The bed is very comfortable and soft, the sheets are equally good The staff is super friendly and engaging with their guests Definitely recommend the restaurant attached to this place, well worth the price if you can afford it 10/10 will visit again!

The hotel was nice! It had a beautiful older rustic charm to it, the front desk by the name of Maribel was a freaking delight!!! She helped us feel welcome and walked us to the different rooms to see if it met our needs because we wanted a jacuzzi tub that fit the both of us even the ghosts were nice!🥴 (yes I think I saw one) will be back again if you go on Friday the vendor’s marketplace is awesomeness we picked up local honey and jam, cookies, bread, smoked cheese and candy and the restaurant inside the hotel was busy and quick and the locals all eat here so make sure you rsvp

The museum across the street is also nice This was a nice quaint low maintenance trip and look forward to doing again

This is one of the nicest resorts I’ve ever stayed in Once you get here you’ll never want to leave the grounds are surrounded by mountains, golf courses and some beautiful trees

The staff was very warm and friendlyAll in all it was a super relaxing and refreshing experience Tip – if you come at a busy time, don’t ask the staff to bring your luggage to the room, take it yourself, it will take them over an hour

Audrie Mccauley

I came to the inn for a work trip, but we had some downtime between meetings to explore Such an incredible resort, so beautiful The staff was kind and attentive

I want to give a special thank you to Elizabeth at the front desk She was absolutely wonderful, welcoming, and made my stay 10/10 I hope to be back with family for a vacation to enjoy the rest of the amenities

The location is excellent! You are about 1 mile from the collection mall The rooms did let in a good amount of noise Some of the things were broken or barely hanging on

The staff was very friendly The bed was very comfy and the room is spacious I would definitely return, just hope the tie up those loose ends for a better experience

Suladys Osborn

We stayed here the last few days and I’m beyond disappointedRooms: OKAY There was hair in some of our towels and a rotten egg smell coming from the sink that would bubble up randomly and stink up the entire room

It was unbearable The sheets were clean though The shower seemed fine but the pressure was very lowService: Front desk and bar was wonderful Everyone was absolutely amazingWe are beyond disappointed in our experience I have always stayed in Marriott’s and they’ve never disappointedDo better

This is an older Courtyard with a nice staff We stayed for 6 nights in July 2022 They host a lot of weddings and conference groups so it can be busy

I loved the patios with a door that opens completely No furniture to sit on your patio but we loved the air flow Gym is well set up Guest laundry is $350/load and the front desk will give you soap The bigger trees in the parking lot will shower your car in sticky fruit so park carefullyMy favorite breakfast is to go to the food court at the Collection mall across the 101 Ragamuffin coffee does a perfect dark pour over for $4 Blend juice bar is amazing for açaí bowls and fresh juices

The Service from the Desk Agent Ryan was outstanding She helped with everything The room was excellent and very comfortable

You really couldn’t ask for more when your away from home The breakfast in the morning again not a typical free meal They offered just about everything you could want and it was served hot The coffee was great Will definitely be back! Thank You

alfonso torres

Stayed here 3 days with my coworker and autistic patient on his vacation and they were very accommodating to people with special needs including having handicap rooms available Location was clean and has complimentary coffee in the front and a restaurant and gas station all in the same section (very convenient) I did express a problem with from desk about our rooms not receiving house keeping in the morning (a bit upsetting)

The gentleman in the front did apologize about the situation and made an effort to correct the problem but was late by the time we got back to our room Rooms were spacious and clean when we first arrived Would definitely visit again

I’m currently here for business for an extended stay and when asked to get change to operate laundry facilities the front desk is unable to accommodate breaking a $20 bill to get the coins to operate the equipmentThe washer and dryer require $5 in change, per machine $10 in quarters per laundry

I initially asked to have $10 in change put on my card and then was told it could not be provided I was advised to walk to the gas station and to take cash out which I understood After returning back to the desk not 10 minutes later, with cash in hand, the individual i was speaking with is no longer at the desk and the other is unable to break the $20 bill so I can get $10 in quarters to do my laundryIf you have laundry machines that require change to be used you should have cash on hand for this exact reason Poor business and lack of organization clearly for your facilityI don’t recommend staying here for this reason and for the fact that none of the cleaning staff speak or understand english at all I requested a few items and they could not understand a single word that I said How do you have a job if you are not capable of communicating with the patrons? Is this a joke? Or is this just how California operates?

Nice hotel Very friendly staff who quickly resolved an issue with our television The room was nice and had everything we needed

Really nice pool and hot tub which we enjoyed It is well located as well Easy to get to the beach There is a market and some good restaurants nearby as well I don’t do hotel breakfasts anymore so I can’t comment on that The bagels and some fruit from the market were a good choice But I definitely will come back and stay with them again

Kim Francique

Nice clean room Didn’t use cleaning service but it was available Did not have to wait long for room service for more coffee or towels

There is a pool, gym and small business area Lots of food for breakfast but be there early Food for both adults and children We always get a suite, but this one looked more like a regular room A bit disappointed but this was minor

Vanessa Duncan

Had an ok experience here Front office staff was nice and lobby was well kept Room was pretty darn quiet for being near the freeway and busy pool

I rate this place 3 stars because housekeeping came at 8am and knocked on our door and then proceed to try to enter the room after we responded loudly This woke us up on our vacation and left us questioning why this would be hotel policy So glad we only stayed one night…lock the deadbolt before going to sleep

We needed a spot to stay between LA and the Bay Area My wife chose the Emerald Iguana Inn because it looked charming Turned out to be way more charming than expected

Tucked away in a neighborhood it’s the perfect spot to relax The staff was very friendly and helpful We grabbed a game from the poolside common area for a fun break We were traveling with our teen daughters and they got into the vibe At night the grounds are peaceful and relaxing In the morning we went for a run to a local coffee place called LOVE Social Cafe We would stay here again

Chrys Barnes

Cute place Very rustic Recommended by a friend so I didn’t quite know what to expect

The idea is that you are pretty much on your own once you get there Minimal services available During normal business hours when staff are present they are good about recommending restaurants and activities The big downside is that the internet is awful in the entire town because Ojai is in a mountain canyon The hotel is a little oasis tucked away with a nice small pool and hot tub It has basic cable TV and a nice library of DVDs Staff is helpfulIf you want to just hide away and relax unconnected to the outside world it’s perfect

Pat Seaborn

I hate to give them a 3 star for this experience We paid almost $400 for the Lilypad suite for a one night stay-less than 24 hours The gas fireplace was not working

They sent two people to fix it with no luck The doors had blown open and there were leaves all over the floor and large black flies in the upstairs room There were banging noises which I assume was from the water heater Beautiful place but lacking in service We have stayed there before so we knew it was going to be expensive but probably won’t go back

A few things about our experience First off this hotel is beautifully located on the beach and walking distance to the marina and restaurants Staff were friendly and helpful

However, upon our arrival most of the facility was under renovation My wish was that we would have been notified of this beforehand Reception was a little difficult to locate (understandable due to construction but more clear signage would have been helpful) I also feel beach towels should be offered (as is the case at other hotels I’ve stayed at) Once in our newly remodeled room the noise level was minimal to none The kitchenette housed a sink, refrigerator, and microwave along with a coffee maker Beach view from the room was fantastic with access to the spacious balcony from both the main room and bedroom We had easy access to the pool and beach Continental breakfast was yummy and consisted of French toast, potatoes, eggs, and/or omelet Complementary drinks (up to $12 per person per night) was a nice extra Pool and hottub were invigorating Overall I did enjoy my stay and the soothing sounds of the ocean When renovation is complete this will be a true treasure

Andrea Jedda

Usually, I won’t review hotels but I think this one deserves it*Before booking: keep in mind there is a huge renovation going on This didn’t bother us one bit but it might not be a good idea for someone who can’t walk long distance

I’m not going to lie, at first it was a little confusing finding our way around FYI You check in at the restaurant so follow the “reception” signsRoom:I was worried because my husband booked us in a first floor room, thinking it would be convenient location to the ocean, however it didn’t have a view of anything! I quickly ran to the front desk to ask for a different room, with any view, just would like a balcony “No problem” she said and upgraded us to a partial ocean view 2 room suite, which also has easy access to the ocean but it was on second floor Done! The fridge didn’t work but we never said anything, as it didn’t affect us Beds were comfortable The room smelled brand new Furniture was new Overall nice, new and clean Oh, and two bathrooms!Restaurant: free breakfast with amazing food and coffee It filled us up all day so we didn’t have to go anywhere for lunch We shared the burger one night for dinner and it filled us both up All the servers were so nice I really appreciated that We also got a $24 credit for food or drinks each day, which was coolThe staff: EVERY single person that works there… from the front desk to the construction workers, were so nice and helpful They opened doors, asked if we needed help with anything, pointed us in the right direction, always with a smile on their faceParking: convenient and secureElevators: fit our bikes perfectlyProperty: quiet, white sandy beach front, steps from whatever room you’re in There is construction so you might have to step over stuff and it might be a little loud at times but the staff is so respectful! You can tell they go out of there way to make it not bad Plus we had ocean view so I barely noticed or cared The grounds were well kept and succulents everywhere!Bonus: there is a guest laundry room and bikes to use

Cheryl Trimm

The pool is always amazing and so is all of the service we get My family has come here every year for three years The beach is amazing and I have a grandchild who loves to run up and down all the sand downs on the south-east side of the hotel

We also love how there are pretty much patios in every room In summary, this hotel is amazing and is absolutely recommended to any one staying in the Oxnard area

Friendly staff, quiet rooms, and yummy breakfast! We stayed one night for our son’s birthday celebration and loved it! Definitely get a room with a view! The only slight disappointment was that the pool and spa were at the Four Seasons and the walk was quite chilly (we went around 5 pm) getting there The spa said 16 or older only and the pool was not very warm and not visible from the spa at all I’m sure the pool is nice in the summer though

Thank you for a nice mini getaway for our family

The breakfast was awesome! I absolutely loved the pancake machine so unique The pool/ hotube was so much fun! We enjoyed staying here very much Highly recommend and will be coming back to stay again Thank you! ❤️

The front desk called me at 2pm on the check in date saying they need my credit card information or they’ll cancel the reservation I told the guy that I already put my credit card information when I was reserving the room on the Best Western website Also, the guy on the phone sounded drunk/high so I asked if they could wait a couple hours for me to arrive

He said no so I told him to cancel the reservationOverall terrible service Why ask for a credit card online if you’re going to call the day of the check in to get the information again? What if I was on a plane and couldn’t answer the phone? Why are your employees drunk/high on the job?

I’ve been here twice so far and place is very nice The hotel bathrooms need more bright lighting and reno but staff at front desk and restaurant area are very accommodating and go out of their way to help you The lobby area is very nice to hang and just do your work

I wake up at 4 and wanted to use the gym around 4:30, even though it was closed the guy at front desk opened it for me so I don’t have to wait until 5 That was very nice of him Thank you

We stayed here for 5 nights and loved every minute of it! The workers are all very friendly and everything is beautiful! It feels like a resort The rooms were up to date, clean and very comfortable They have a pool and have breakfast for guests

The oven is just down the sidewalk and everything about it is beautiful! I love that we can actually text the front desk and communicate that way, You can ask questions and make requests and don’t need to try to track someone downThe only downfall to our stay was the restaurant was closed and closed down a couple of days before we arrived and their website didn’t mention that happening That was a big reason that pushed us to pick this place to stayI’d definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

We will be back Our room was clean, beds comfortable, very quite and the bathroom updated and modern I only give it 4 stars because the Restaurant was closed, and with all the lovely grass area it would have been nice to have a picnic area

There was only one chair in our room, no dinette ,We would have liked to have sat in our room and had a nice meal and stared at the view

It was a horrible experience I tried to check in and had to wait 15 minutes because no one was at the registration office It said it was open but the door was locked

I let it slide because the man who helped me was so nice I think his name was Josh He let me know he was the only one there working which was my second red flag After a 16 hour work day though I just wanted to get to sleep I went to my room and was mortified The co-ed living space (which is no where stated on your website) weirded me out What was even more shocking was the ceiling falling apart, walls with chipped paint, the uncleanliness and the worst part was the smell of mold and mildew I have upper-respiratory issues and am extra sensitive to toxins in the air and it was hard for me to breathe I was showed 5 more rooms until there was one that I could breathe decently in The prominent odor and feeling of mold is very apparent I didn’t want to stay there at all, but had no choice because at that point it was 10:30pm at night and I had to be up for work in the morning I paid $455 for this experience and I would appreciate a refund It was unacceptable

About as you would expect out of a Four Points hotel Rooms were not the cleanest, but definitely not the worst I’ve seen They could’ve paid a bit more attention to cleaning between guests

The towels were a bit ruggedy and hard There is a window slit in the bathroom that you can open to air out the bathroom however, if you open it at all, people outside can see straight into the bathroom and shower The main areas were clean and well attended to and the catered food was fairly good There is a nice beach a short walk South of the hotel and shopping areas

Very nice venue and amazing chef food was great for my brothers wedding could not have been more perfect Staff was amazing at accommodations when we forgot our handicap parking and yet made arrangements We managed to get around with two guests in wheelchairs with no problems

In and out of the bathroom’s too I would recommend this place an event
