The staff is very friendly and welcoming The hotel is in a very good area The rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfy

The bathroom was super clean, and I loved the kitchenette area The best thing is the balcony Each room has one, and I was so happy because I didn’t have to walk outside of the hotel to blaze 😉 The breakfast is cooked to order, so it was fresh 😋I got an amazing deal online and so breakfast was included with our room Thank Gosh, because their prices are a little high They have a full bar and I can’t wait to stay again on our next trip

Laura C (LovelyLaura)

We loved our stay at this hotel May 13-14th Our first travels since 2019! Our room was lovely with the modern kitchenette and spectacular view of the pool We had come to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and this was one of the nicest places we stayed

Modern, clean, safe, and provided all the little amenities and personal touches we have come to love about IHG The customer service at check-in was friendly, welcoming and made the process easy The beds and shower provided the rest and relaxation we needed having driven from Oregon Great trip, great stay, would recommend and hope to one day return

Service and locations are amazing! Can hear a little through the walls but not too bad considering they also had to listen to my almost 2 year old!Cleanliness I felt could have been better and more thorough I did a little extra cleaning on my own the first day I stayed since I would be there for a week! But no major issues which I’m always grateful!

This was the ONLY place available within 50 miles for a last-minute stay, so we didn’t have much of a choice, and I will give credit where it’s due to their pricing algorithm that somehow managed to get us to pay $250 for a night here We were placed in a smoking room despite saying we did not want one, which was a bummer The room was tiny, dirty, paint peeling, etc but it did have clean linens and towels

The staff was really friendly Walls were thin and we heard everything our neighbors were doing Overall I wouldn’t come here if I had literally any other option, but if you don’t, you’ll survive

Let’s remember above all, it’s a motel 6The pros and pluses

Very comfortable bed, clean sheets, room smelled good and fresh, the location was right off the freeway which made getting up in the morning and continuing our road trip a huge plus, very close to stores to get something to eat and supplies for our trip No extra charge for us packing our dog along In fact they even had a pet area to take care of businessThe cons and the minuses The AC barely worked Bookingscom advertised this place had a bathtub and it did not and the front desk host said none of the units have tubs I do daily voluntary Epsom therapy soaks for my arthritis and legs especially No tub no soak No fridge no microwave No coffee in the room But again like I mentioned in the beginning it’s a motel 6If it’s clean and sanitary especially the bed, the shower is adequate and clean, and the location is not in crime alley It’s an automatic five-star rating for a motel 6 They’re not trying to be the Hilton or the Ramada inn You’re driving like a madman down the road trying to make mileage trying to get to Southern California or wherever you’re going and you get tired and you just want a comfortable bed you can fall into fall asleep and then get up take a shower have a cup of coffee and get back on the road Motel 6 does this and they did it for about a hundred bucks but again we were in Southern California most times it’s a 65 to $80 purchase I highly recommend the Santa Maria California motel 6 The people there work very very hard and the host at the front desk was awesome I prepaid he got me in and I was resting in my room 13 minutes after I pulled into the parking lot

We stayed for 2 weeks- supposed to stay for 6 weeks Had to leave People were partying all night and I mean until 4 am

I finally decided to say something and got dressed and went downstairs to the front desk- at 3am It was apparent that at least some of the people hanging around the lobby were personal friends of the woman at the front desk When I expressed my concerns about the noise level at this time of the night, she told me she didn’t have any control of guests who went outside to smoke This was laughable as non of them were smoking We decided we needed to leave The next day I stopped at the front desk to let them know we were checking out due to the noise and all night partying This woman was very short with me and had no comment about what I told her It seemed clear that she had heard about my visit at 3am from her friend My husband then went back in to get a receipt that stated we had checked out She said she couldn’t give him one as a third party was responsible for the bill Since we no longer trusted this hotel or staff, he told her we needed something even if it was a handwritten note that stated we had checked out She said he was rudeWe travel extensively and are in our 70’s We have never experienced this kind of treatment before I would never stay at a candlewood suites again We are IHG members and may not stay in one of their hotels again if this is how they are managed now I would never recommend this hotel

The staff at check in went above In beyond to make me and my family extremely welcomed There’s so many options of hotels here but I’m so glad we chose this one Plus they’re pet friendly if you’re traveling with a pet and or your kids this hotel is very accommodating

Oh and they have movie at the front desk and the rooms and very very clean Great Job Candle Woods Staff I’ll be coming back for sure

Case Mods

Actually a nice hotel and experience but I had a hard time falling asleep due to people stomping from the room above mine past 11pm If you’re facing the street, road noise does not stop any time early Be sure you get a parking lot room if you like the window open

They use 1/4″ head, 6 sided self tap screws the limit the windows from opening more than 3″ but you can just force the window over it or remove the screw with almost any basic pair of pliers (should also work with the open end of a multi screw driver setup)Shower and tub is really small if you’re 6’1No breakfastjust free coffeeTweakers walking through the parking lot and out through the dog gate at night but didn’t seem too interested in any cars4 stars due to shower and tub size, noise from road

Black mold was present in the bathroom and the showers soap holder was broken and missing Paint was used haphazardly and left shoddy marks Peephole was broken and had tissue used to fill hole

The door was badly maintained and locks were poorly installed The quality of this hotel is very poor and should be avoided, spend a bit more and stay at the holiday inn

Myá Ramos

Most disgusting hotel i’ve ever stayed at The owner is rude and only solution was to “check out” instead of just giving us clean sheets The light in the bathroom never worked and he wanted us to bang on it super hard instead of just giving us functioning room

The cleaners also go into your room but don’t do anything which defeats the purpose of entering in the first place When the cleaner was showed how dirty the sheets were she snapped at us and yelled “do you want me to change them or not” Would never recommend this place to anyone, the other Motel 6 in Santa Maria is way nicer and has more friendly staff

daniel garcia

This motel 6 really sucked the attendant were dirty clothes and look like he was on crystal meth decided for bowls and out our room was told to be ready at 3:00 when me and my sister want to check in at 6:30 the room was not ready there’s no remote in the TV area the curtain for barely hanging and the screen dirt would not open or closed the room rate of disinfected motel 6 you need to straighten out and clean up that particular hotel I will not be staying there anymore you think for $149 that would be pretty nice and nifty my sister could not stay there she left therefore I kept her room and did not register mine but I’ll never pay $149 for a box like that hotel 6 you should be ashamed of yourself and I was there in Santa Maria to visit my terminally ill daughter not good

Great hotel experience Location away from the freeway noise but close to shopping and dining Nice sized rooms with extra space in the bathroom/vanity area

Real variety in the included breakfast including a self-serve creamy yogurt machine with toppings, bananas and homemade breakfast burritos from Francisco’s Country Kitchen The staff was very friendly & efficient Messages sent before my stay to confirm, tell me my room was ready and a thank you after my overnight Will be staying again and suggesting this to other travelers to the area

Maria B

The room was at least clean, but there was so strong chlorine smell, so I’m not sure that I liked something in this hotelI realize that you can’t expect too much from the road hotel, but I think it’s too high cost for this value (it’s better to pay more, but enjoy the stay I learned this lesson

again 😅 😏):Very noisyYou can hear every step from the upstairsNothing for breakfast (I know that it’s a standard hotel “breakfast”, but it must be served within the time window that they declare)No coffee

Shani Hubbard

This place is great!! Saved our hides when PRICELINE screwed up! Had a disabled room available on VERY short notice and were very kind and understanding We will be back! The pool and hot tub made for a nice end to a very tense evening

Not a luxury stay but you get your value at less than $180 per night Bed was new and very comfortable Less than a mile from the ocean as some rooms have a partial view

Great water pressure for the shower Rooms were clean and everything in working order On our stay the ice machine was broken It’s located bottom floor behind hotel where a small patio and seating area was located Would definitely go back

sandi pike

Horrible If I could give it zero stars I would Long wait for registering staff to answer

Once a room was offered and paid for, my friend used the toilet, the seat was broken and came apart He being of senior age fell and gashed his arm in the fall and his elbow The wounds were bloody but no help offered when I called For both managers The girl voided our room and told us to our faces that we had to leave that my friend should be in a nursing home I was appalled and in shock at first I had to demand a room as it was very late in the evening and I needed to apply first aid to my friend Finally she rented us a different room next door which had no soap But the thing that got me was her arrogant non-helpful attitude and she never apologized for their poor maintenance

Genevieve Miranda

Hello, I just called with a few questions regarding your rooms I would just like to inform your Manger/Supervisor/Owner that whoever answered my call at 1:34 pm July 16, 22 is very unprofessional and rude! I did not even get to ask anything due to your employee not only rushing me but hanging up on me as I’m talking! Very rude, unprofessional “Women Owned Business”! Don’t even have to stay here to know I would never stay here!

I have stayed here on occasion because it is close by to my in-laws home I have also stayed here before it was Aloha Inn The reviews I have read are fairly accurate to my experience

My last stay cost me over $230 dollars and I was placed in a handicapped room with hard mattresses, heavily stained carpet, cheap bedding, mismatched furniture, noises from the Hwy and people above you, broken air conditioner with missing knobs I would never recommend staying here unless there is no where else to go Good thing for me, it was only one night Don’t book unless you get a rock bottom rate That way, you won’t be disappointed about the room condition and poor service

Steven Monsibais

Poor customer service Went down to the main office to add another night Was quoted a price 0f 82+ fee which was a great price

Came back later to my room and get call saying the price was raised to 180+ fees Went to office to talk to Elvis the manager He blamed the new hire saying it was a mistake even tho the employee talk to him in the morning Elvis kept saying they won’t honor what we were quoted Very shady business Suggest staying away from here

Checking in was very fast and easy Staff was very friendly They get 5 stars

The hotel itself needs a face-lift The room was really small especially for the price and the fixtures and appliances were quite outdated I did not visit the bar inside but it looked like it was be a nice place to enjoy a quiet drink Bed was comfortable and water got hot quick with good pressure I’d stay again, but I wasn’t amazed

Steven Perez

It was a very old but well restored hotel The room was nice and had a fridge and microwave and the bed was comfortable My only true complaint is trying to lay in bed and read the main light kept turning off if it didn’t detect motion leaving me in the dark over and over

I will definitely stay here again when I’m out visiting family

Chris Keffer

Santa Maria Inn is a wonderful place to visit From the stylish and comfortable rooms that feel more like home than a hotel room with all the amenities of a fine hotel which are also pet friendly The restaurant has a very good menu and an amazing Sunday/Holiday brunch

This spot is such a hidden gem! Myself and my partner stayed a quick night for a little staycation, and were blown away by the loveliness of the inn The house itself is stunning, an ode to a grander time The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly

It was very clean and our room felt very private It was very cold when we were there, but on a warmer evening, the beautiful front porch is the perfect place to relax The gardens are sprawling and just wonderful to walk through I can’t wait to come back and spend more time here!

It’s nice but it gets crowded easily Only complaint is the park is so small, it’s easy to crowd the little road around the park Fair warning, the park is so small that if anybody is playing loud music into the evening, you’re gonna hear it

Airplane noise from the airport is a little startling at first but you get used to it if you stay for a few days

Kelly Williams

Great location near the beach and restaurants Very small campground and your neighbors are in close proximity to your site If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs because the birds are so freakin loud

There is also a wooden bridge that cars drive by and it sounds like thunder or a train every time So loud The restrooms are dated but cleaner than most (although my husband said the men’s was dirty) Overall, nice campground Would come back but def not 5 stars

Booked a 3 night stay for our anniversary, in March We’ve stayed here before and were pretty happy, but this time, the bed was hard, (hurt the hubby’s back) the fire place didn’t work, the sofas were dirty, i didn’t even want to sit on them, i put a blanket over them, (thankfully i travel with my own fresh blankets just in case the hotel is dirty and i needed them here!) Oh and we only had 1 chair for our patio And i paid extra for the upgraded room! Staff didn’t do anything to move us into a nicer room, even though i called to inform them of the broken fireplace within the first hour of checking in

Lady at the desk ask if I really needed it? Humm, YES I DO! First off it was March so it was very cold at night and sometimes during the day Second it’s a romantic anniversary getaway and website said the room was accommodated with one Third I paid over $300 for our stay and i should get what i want, especially when i notified the front desk within the first hour of checking in that our fire place wasn’t working They promised to send a maintenance man the first day, but we were never notified if he did come I ended up calling the front desk back a couple hours later on that same day and the front desk lady said they did try but couldn’t get it to go and that sometimes their fireplaces don’t work and they couldn’t help/control it 🤦 She also said they couldn’t move us because they were booked, but the room next to us sat empty for 2 days 🤷 Only used once by a family of 4, then sat there dirty until the next day, when the maid finally arrived Overall, it’s a gamble on if you’ll get a good room, no way to guarantee that since they are individually owned and all differently decorated Not sure if I’ll be back, might spend my $300-400 on a place where the staff deserves it! ✌️

Paolo Chiarlone

Great location and the unit we were in looks like a holiday beach house, very well furnished and very cleanOn the bad side that bad look like it was not clean or at least the sheets were not looking cleanThe people at the window lobby are always annoyed when you ask something, they really don’t like doing their job

However the location is great and you can walk to the beach for a decent price

Jacob Frantz

Wanted it to be better Great location 5 min to Oceano dunes Beach room was nice Size relatively clean updated somewhatBig drawbacks was in a studio room with doors closed between next room family with kids you could hear everything thank God they finally crashed around 10 The shower well it literally took 10 minutes to get hot water most people would have given up but I just couldn’t believe no hot water at 10:00 at night

It finally got hot while I was braving a cold brrrr showerProbably will avoid this place The lady who I checked in with was very nice and it’s overall a nice looking place

Nice hotel that sits feet away from the airport runway There is minimal airport traffic so the occasional taxis and take off of a small jet is a welcomed sight You can see the runways from the bar or on sight restaurant along with many of the rooms

The food is very good with most plates $25 and up Overall a great place to end a busy day working or playing Great for families or those on business

A Job

We had a suite and a room Neither were clean We used to stay here all the time

It was very disappointing to see how the place has gone down We are still in a pandemic The room and suite were filthy, they did not even vacuum There was trash from the prior occupants left in the suite They did not put any soap out We ordered extra sets of towls so that we could clean the suite and room ourselves Thank God we bring cleaning material DON’T TOUCH THE TELEPHONES OR REMOTES without cleaning them The phones and the remotes left their white towels BLACK I hope they don’t think that was our dirt! We left lots of disposable gloves in the trash from cleaning We did not even sleep in the beds–who knows if the maids changed them If they did not even empty the trash or vacuum, who knows Praise God it was for one night We could not wait to leave! Oh, but, my brother did enjoy his fish tacos The staff were friendly and those two reasons warrant a one star! Otherwise ZERO!

Victoria Barlow

This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed at this location I had an issue with the A/C in the room-set at 64 and it still felt warm They sent a tech up immediately who said the unit was working properly but that it was warm due to the sun coming in

However, i woke up hot, even though thermostat was set at 63, and they sent a fan up to my room It was a small fan and the staff person found another one for me It worked fine but it was very disruptive to a good night’s rest The staff was helpful and friendly The location doesn’t offer a free breakfast
