Pros: Nice common areas including the pool, patio, and dining room Loved the modern aesthetic and decor throughout the hotel The bathroom was nice and updated with a beautiful shower and plenty of counter space

Comfortable king bed Large TV Room had a fridge, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer I felt my car was safe due to cameras around the buildingCons: There was no microwave in the room so we had to go down to the lobby each time to heat up our meals The check in experience was slightly stressful as we booked through Priceline and our room was never actually booked in the system The manager was able to make sure we got a room for the weekend

Retro coolSometimes that’s hard to do without going overboard to the retro side The Beeman doesn’t try to be overtly retro but rather has some retro touches to keep it interesting

It’s like the Dean Martin of hotels, knows it’s cool and doesn’t have to try Great pool area Nicely appointed bar facilities The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable with a definite nod toward using sustainable products

Chelsey Ryner

We have stayed here twice now It has always been nice and clean and everyone so far seems to be friendly The location is perfect

The issues we had was one morning a child (and his family) was screaming in the hallway at 730am (not the hotel’s fault)but the only issue with the hotel is we requested a late check out of 1 o’clock We got the okay from two people at the front desk We get a knock on the door at 11:01 asking when we would be leaving This irritated me a bit as we had our DO NOT DISTURB sign on the handle and they could have at least called the front desk to check with them rather than waking us up After telling the person who knocked when we were leaving, I called down to the office to be sure we weren’t being charged for an extra night and we were assured that we weren’t and they would let the staff know 5 min after the phone call, we get ANOTHER knock from another employee asking us when we were leavingWe got so annoyed with it all we just packed up and left earlier That put a damper on things as we booked this to relax a bit and needed the extra time to unwindReally want to go back, but a little put off Otherwise, the hotel is a good place

I was here for work and enjoyed my stay The rooms are spacious and up to date I was by myself and enjoyed the stay for 8 days, front desk staff always helpful and the breakfast warm and delicious

Clean entrance and gym with elliptical two and a few other exercise machines You can do laundry here and it is located near four places you can walk to to grab a quick bite I recommend this stay I think I would stay here for an extended stay if I wanted to Thank you La Quinta Inn in Hutchins Texas

Room was very clean and it was very roomy The beds were ok All the bedding is old and paper thin

Pillows were lumpy The towels were about the size of a hand towel and old and thin as well The tub faucet was about to fall off The breakfast was simple, not a lot there so we ate elsewhere You can tell they have even updating the whole place Its not the best or the worst I’ve stayed at

Glenn Pyle

Nice quiet rooms Far enough from the highway to not hear all the noise Room is very big and has a refrigerator and microwave

Another important plus is it actually has a relatively comfortable arm chair in addition to the desk chair Plenty of outlets but no USB ports for charging oddly enoughThe negatives: the bath towels are about the size of the hand towels and are about as rough as 10 grit sandpaper! The TV is decent but the cable package is horrible to navigate There is no channel guide or menu (no cable box), so it’s just scroll through with the horrible remote (that works about 50% of the time) and try to land on something The breakfast is mediocre at best – and it’s the same thing every day (my 2nd week long business trip here) – sausage, sausage gravel, make your own waffles, assorted cereals and breads, fruit, etc It’s a fairly large selection and it’s included but change it up once in a while Maybe throw some scrambled eggs outI stay here because it’s 5 miles away from my business location so it’s very convenient There aren’t many restaurants local though, so dinner is a challenge if you don’t want to drive downtown (I don’t!)

I have stayed at this hotel about 9 or 10 times over a year’s time and I love it! I have NEVER had any issues with the property or the staff It has always been super clean, all of the staff members have been extremely nice and the breakfast is fresh and yummy The walls are not super thin, so we sleep very well and undisturbed

This location is very convenient for our needs I was hesitant in the beginning because it is a high traffic hotel, but they do a great job of maintaining the property and rooms

The beds & pillows are sooo soft & comfy, I had to book another night Staff did EVERYTHING they could to satisfy me, & that’s what counts My room & bathroom was clean in all my rooms, no bed bugs, gnats, roaches and etcThe Wi-Fi works splendid The area is quiet and near convenient stores The atmosphere doesn’t stink, and even though there was some guest who broke the rules of smoking, Management did all he could to correct the problem with kindness You can’t control people, & sometimes you can’t control or something doesn’t work like your room card going out during your stay, but when you have a manager that cares deeply about their guest satisfaction and does what he can to correct issues with Kindness, then that is what builds customer loyalty You have developed a loyal customer!!! I got a room 2 nights in a row, 1st night came to this location and was happy about room being cleaned, no smell, available at 12 am, and comfortable bed and pillows The only thing could’ve been better is the breakfast I went 1 hour after it’ opened and they ran out of eggs lol but the choices was many

Went to the Dallas East location very next day and by far Wayyy worst than this 1 Rooms are molded, gnat infested, breakfast horrible only had waffles and cereal literally, Wi-Fi don’t work, fitness center closed Basically I’m saying if you value , cleanliness, and want breakfast option than come to this location I will NEVER go back to the one on 635 Choose this LocAtion to get your money’s worth and a cleaner environment

Kazi Nadia

This was the cheapest hotel I have ever saw1 The hair dryer was missing

2 Iron was missing3 The bathroom door was broken4 The bed sheet was burnt Someone may have smoked before in that room5 Also found a black spotSo, please whenever you check in to your room please make sure all of those things are all good If not then please report to the manager of that hotel otherwise you never know you could be responsible for those damages6 WORST BREAKFAST!!The breakfast was the worst!Their contemporary breakfast time starts from 6:00 am to 9:00amAnd I went to have my breakfast around 7:00am or 7:30amI was so surprised when I saw the breakfast menu!!They just had corn fleks, milk, sweet buns, cupcakes & apple juiceThe machine for orange juice was out of orderThere were 3 empty traysI went to the front desk and ask about the breakfast So I asked, ” Good morning ma’am, are those for the breakfast??”And she was busy with her phone and replied like “Yeah!”As if they are maintaining standard quality for contemporary breakfast! That employee was busy with her phone while she was responding to me! So rude!!Honestly speaking I stayed some other hotels before but this was the worst experience in my life Also, I don’t know about other locations but the hotel at this location 3424 Sorrento Dr, Mesquite, TX 75150 is just the worst!!

Staff was excellent Antoinette checked me in and she was very sweet Michelle checked me out and was also very friendly

Breakfast was great but busy I felt bad for them We were here for cheer and you could tell they were busyGreat location across from our cheer groupRoom was very clear and smelled great upon check in They have the big bottles of shampoo in bathrooms which is great with girls who have long hairI would definitely come back if I am every in the area again

Natalie Shands

I initially liked it here very much, after my house burned down and losing absolutely everything

the people were friendly and the room was cozyBut then after a few days I realized that my room had bedbugs I had never seen one before so at first I thought it was just something I was picking up sitting outside After a week I realized that they were coming from the bed It wasn’t until then that I started to see the bites showing up It has been 2 weeks and my right side is still so bad that I have to wear long sleeves and long pants in this heat I’ve seen the Dr Antibiotics and steroids can’t get rid of the bite marks They’re almost all only on my right side and I was sleeping on my right side so it couldn’t be anything elseThe worst part is that I was moved to another room for one day but then they decided I must have brought them into that room and they need to fumigate the room I moved to And I had to goI have never had or even seen bedbugs in my life but I get kicked out of a hotel after getting annihilated by bedbugs when I am already displacedIt’s the worst insult to injury I have ever experienced AND it was on my birthdayAnd just saying about the picturesthe bug on the sheet did not come out of the burned out shell of my home

Great little place to stay! It’s a small room but very cozy and great location! We did have to pay $11 for parking a day, but they do offer free parking!! They also are very responsive and friendly! For pride month, we received a free shot each upon our arrival at check in What a simple and cute perk for guests to feel special They also have fresh lemon water, which I loved! Every morning and night I’d fill up my yeti and get some! We will definitely be staying again upon our next trip to Dallas

Absolutely FANTASTIC stay!! If you are looking for a NYC vibe…IT’S HERE! If you love clean lines & minimal, calming decor…THIS IS IT! The beauty of this circa 1920’s building is shown and appreciated by the owners and brothers, Blake & Brandon Shirk The original exposed red brick adds texture & art complimenting the modern fixtures & decor! From the inviting entry & social area to the combo front desk/art-deco bar(which is genius), all leading to the very well lit hallways, where everyone will feel safe! The rooms are perfect! Finally a hotel that “gets it”! I, like most, are only there to shower & sleep… not needing all the extra “stuff” to take up space Clean walls & floors! Ultra soft, white spa-like bedding, a touch of greenery & wood accents and…

A RAIN SHOWER😃Oh …and wait for it…they even have a bidet in every bathroom!!😆 Now that is extra!! The owners checked me in, bar tended, and offered friendly conversation! I will now be a regular when visiting Dallas! Outstanding experience!

Fantastic locationGreat concept for a hotel We love staying in European hotels which have a similar boutique vibe to SOVA

The execution of the renovation of the building was not so great If you are a light sleeper, I would stay away from this place The thinnest walls of any hotel I have stayed in, including the US and Europe You can hear water running through them, as well as the voices of anyone in other adjoining rooms or the hallways Few of the rooms have windows, which is kind of strange! We were in an inside room (206)Despite these shortcomings, we had a great time in Dallas and would possibly return to SOVA, if the situation was right The prices were much lower than other hotels in the area, and we were treated well by the hotel staff, who were always friendly when we came in and out

Accommodations are great, breakfast was very satisfactory and my son enjoyed the pool with friends However, every staff we interacted with did not seem happy to be helping guests and requesting a late check out was almost denied due to housekeeping

but we were checking out on a Sunday and it didn’t appear that they had an influx of check ins happening while we had to sit in the lobby for the next 5 hours We stayed here because our event was hosted at the adjoining convention center but not the best place to stay if you are passing through or would like a friendly staff

I come to Dallas at least once a month and almost always stay here Usually I have no problem The location is great and it’s a clean hotel

However, the night of April 14, 2022 was an unpleasant experience I checked in kind of late that night between 10-11 pm with my boyfriend (who I added as a guest when I booked the room on the Hilton app early that day) As I approached the front desk a black woman working that night demanded she had to see my id and my card, also stating I hadn’t reserved the room and that I had to pay Keep in mind I am a Diamond Hilton member, I know how to properly book a room online I was only going to the front desk for a physical card for my boyfriend I even let her know I already had a room number and my digital key was working so why would I need to pay again? She completely ignored me and proceeded to tell the other woman who she appeared to be training that we were “irresponsible” for not bringing my id and card and that it was our fault (they were in the car which my boyfriend went to go get) When she charged me AGAIN for the room I also noticed the price was higher than what I originally paid for when I booked online NOT including yet another $50 incidental charge At that point I wasn’t going to argue with her or even ask her why the price was higher I was already sleepy and annoyed of her impolite attitude The day after checkout (April 18, 2022) I received my folio and noticed the charge was exactly what I had booked the room for myself THROUGH THE APP I proceeded to call the hotel and asked them why was my bank account showing a different amount charged The woman who answered claimed to work with billing and said she couldn’t understand why the woman had charged me more and that there was nothing she could do about it because it was 7am Monday morning after Easter and that maybe the bank hadn’t caught up to what the hotel actually charged Eventually this was sorted out but I still don’t understand why the woman at the front desk even charged me more that night? She also didn’t offer me the free water and snack Diamond members get Even my boyfriend mentioned how unnecessarily rude she was to us I usually don’t bother writing reviews but this is one I had to complain about Getting treated badly by staff for no reason definitely ruined my go to hotel for me

Jermaine Layton

I was visiting to enjoy a banquet located in Ballroom A The front desk hostess could have been more welcoming She wasn’t super rude, but she was very direct and unwelcoming

The ballroom where the event was located was stuffy and warm and needed the AC on The hotel room my boss had reserved for me to change clothes in had a stuffy smell in it as well, but I can say that everything in the room seemed clean I’m not sure how long their 2nd elevator has been out of service, but my hope is that it will swiftly get fixed due to long waits and the elevator stopping on each floor and the concern of social distancing (pandemic protocols)The servers that catered the food were friendly and accommodating which may have been the best of the experience For the purpose of the event, we did enjoy ourselves, but realizing the experience as a consumer, this hosting hotel could improve more with the small things

My husband and I just had a wonderful stay here! Our room was clean and quiet The decor was modern and beautiful The AC was cold (thank goodness because it was 113 degrees outside)! The bed and pillows were comfortable

The staff is so friendly and accommodating The location of the hotel couldn’t be better! So close to everything! We will definitely stay here again!

I went to Dallas for a quick stay, and the Highland was the perfect spot to relax We ate the best dinner at Knife Steakhouse, located inside the hotel I also had a massage at the Spa right before check out that was perfect, and the sauna was super clean

It was too cold to get into the pool, but I did walk by it, and it was super clean The hotel and valet staff were lovelyI would stay here again because I had such a great experience, and it’s a plus they allow dogs 10/10

We stayed at this hotel for our anniversary It is a great location though the first time it will be hard to find the turn into the drivewayKnife is a great restaurant for breakfast and dinner

Be aware you can order a half of a saladWe stayed in 719 a spa room with a huge spa tub with shower Be aware that it is a huge climb over the side to take a shower with only the towel rack as a hand rail The room has a refrigerator and coffee maker The only over head lights are in the bath and in the sitting area on the other side of the room The bed has 2 lights on the stands but it is pretty dim at night The desk had 2 open wall outlets for chargingThe staff were great though they did not inform us that the restaurant was closed Mon and Tues due to a lack of staff and for that I took a star away No options were given though there is coffee and tea in the atriumValet only 31dollarsRoom was clean and comfortable with a king bed

My 4 friends and I enjoyed 2 fantastic nights at your gorgeous and very comfortable 5 star B&B I have stayed at many B&B’s and this is at the top; my favorite!I loved having our own chic bathroom attached to our bedroom, ( with the most amazingly, comfortable bed,) decorated meticulously in a clever, Texas, historical theme The house is magnificent with inviting rooms to enjoy our drink, from your elegant bar and gather in your cozy living room

After our night out we played a board game at the beautiful dining room table while seated in your plush velvet chairs The breakfast of ham and cheese croissants, fresh fruit and coffee were a perfect morning send off I highly recommend The Gaston! Thank you for a perfect stay! I’ll be back!

Anna Max

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Gaston for a night while on a weekend trip to Dallas and we absolutely loved it The home and rooms were beautiful and it felt like a home away from home The hosts were also extremely kind and hospitable

There is so much detail put into the home that makes it a very special place The breakfast was amazing and there is even a full bar which is so fun!! We definitely hope to be back for a longer stay soon!

Miranda Hewlett

This place was reasonably priced and a comfortable stay I was pleased to have a mini fridge in the room The offerings at breakfast were adequate for someone who eats gluten — cranberry and blueberry scones, breakfast burrito, cereal, juices

The building seemed to have been recently remodeled The carpet was in good shape (except in the elevator where it appeared dirty) The pool is indoors and small but intimate We only saw three other people in the pool while we were there We checked in at 1am and there was a nice attendant working that late so we had no issues

Karen Cline-Tardiff

Rooms were super quiet, we couldn’t tell we were near a highway Lots of great local eating options Super friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy to have us stay there

The pool was great Room was very clean and comfortable Bathroom had great water pressure and nice amenities Only problem was the breakfast Terrible We just went out to eat instead Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area

The most enjoyable thing about staying at this location was the front desk person JOHNNIE!! SHE IS EXCELLENT ON EVERY LEVEL

I AM SITTING AT THE TABLE WORKING RIGHT NOW LISTENING TO HER NAVIGATE HER DAY SHE DOES IT WITH A SMILE ON HER FACE AND IN HER VOICENOTE: Rooms are clean, I felt safe walking to and from my car and you have plenty of restaurants to choose from

Contrary to some reviews we had read prior to our stay, we found this hotel to be very clean and accommodating The room was spacious, and the large fridge and microwave were nice to have Great view of the city, very comfortable bed and pillows – slept well

Very accommodating for our large group of HS cheerleaders Great place for a group of students to stay Pleasantly surprised!

Perfect location as we were in the building next door Room was spacious and had lots of amenities But two things made for a 3 star rating

1 – Low flow showers It was very difficult to wash soap off or shampoo out with how light the water pressure was And the most important 2 – The bed was a remnant left over for the 70s or 80s The springs push into your back and the box spring that held this weak and flimsy mattress pretty close to collapsed I would have been better off sleeping on the floor Unless they replace their beds with comfortable ones, which I mean come on, it’s the Hilton Brand, I will stay somewhere else, even if I have to drive and park

Terrible parking situation !!!!!! I was there for a heart ablation and had to walk up and down stairs Elevator closes at 5:00 I also had to walk up and down elevated sloped garage entranceNothing was marked correctly

They depended on a traffic cone to keep on of the doors open to the streetThe check in situation was an absolute joke Had a small sandwich sign about 4′ tallfor the check-in door Only spots for two street side check-in Once there are two cars in place you can not see the check-in sign Everyone at the counter was nice but don’t go there unless you are willing to put up with the poorly planned parking

We had a splendid time at this B&B! The Innkeeper was very welcoming and made the best dishes for breakfast I am a very picky eater, but I ate everything she prepared! Rooms are clean and cozy The Presidential Suite was worth the splurge

We were celebrating a birthday weekend, and received a complimentary bottle of champagne 🙂 Location is great, just a few minutes away from dining and shopping downtown I highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed

This is a delightful B & B establishment We arrived very late at night and were greeted by Laurel who didn’t rush us off to bed but took the time to welcome us Dan’s breakfast is wonderful and fit for royalty and would put a 5-star hotel breakfast to shame

The accommodation is also very good with the rooms being well appointed, clean, spacious with several complimentary goodies The main house itself takes you back to the early 1900’s and commands a great atmosphere We only had the two nights but could have easily stayed longer It is within an easy 20 minute walk to the main Dallas downtown area Simple advise, if you’re in Dallas stay here I don’t think you’d be disappointed

What a nice little gem! I stayed in the carriage house out behind the main home (I think it was the mayor’s suite?) It had a full kitchen attached, which was really nice The room was great, loved the historic feel, and it is close to downtown! The best part, however, was the inn keeper! She was so welcoming and accommodating We had so many lovely conversations with her, and she even made me vegan breakfast every morning (and the regular breakfast also looked amazing!) If you have dietary restrictions, don’t worry, she was happy to make a special meal and it was delicious!

This place is immaculate Room was extremely clean and so was the bathroom Jack in the Box was extremely close and so were other restaurants

The pool was heated and felt really good The front desk rep was busy on the phone because another potential customer was working her nerves so I had a to wait a bit to get checked in but I enjoyed my stay and would come back

Beautifully kept hotel We were greeted by Jerry who was SO friendly and went above and beyond to inform us about places to eat and best way to navigate to the concert we were going to! Even took our picture as we left to the concert He made this review! We were sad to miss him when we checked out

The room was bigger and more cozy than we expected! Breakfast was great, fresh and tasty! Will definitely stay here again in the future!

Very nice place Great value Very clean and the staff is nice

Appears to be a fairly new building Plenty of shopping and food in this vicinity We are 10 minutes from Dos Equis Pavilion Free parking Our last trip to Dallas we stayed downtown where we paid $18 every time we left and returned to park, so free parking is very nice I just finished the included breakfast with a waffle and there are muffins and other things available Good enough
