Dan Powers

This hotel is tired and needs a remodel It shows it’s age in some areas I made a reservation for one king bed room and I got a room with 2 queen beds

The vent on the bathroom ceiling was dirty The lampshades had stains The TV had a lot of streaks on it Breakfast was somewhat ok I have been to a few other Holiday Inn Express hotels and they were all above average and I was expecting the same for this one Not the case No housekeeping services, just a little note on the card holder saying to leave trash and dirty towels in the hallway The hallway was lined with trash and towels waiting to be picked up Not very visually appealing at all I didn’t even get a thank you when I checked out She said “room number?” That’s it I gave it one extra star for comfortable bed Not worth the price for what I paid for!

Mike Durenberger

It’s clear the main amenity, housekeeping, is disappearing from this normally reputable hotel chain I stayed at this hotel for one night At first glance everything in the room looked good as you would expect, but the more I looked around, the more I wanted to leave

There were various hairs in the bed I had just turned, hairs in a towel and wash cloth, and the bathroom mirror had a large constellation of some kind of red sticky gunk sprayed on it It was late when I discovered all this and just went to bed The following morning I enjoyed the breakfast that was clean, diverse and well-stocked When I checked out I mentioned to the clerk the issues I had in the room She didn’t apologize or offer anything to make up for the discomfort I had during my stay, even though there’s a card in the room that guarantees a comfortable stay or they’ll make it right

Katie Wyman

The manager working the front desk this weekend gets all the credit for making our stay enjoyable! Housekeeping checked our room off as clean but when we checked in it was not clean at all, the cleaning crew had left for the day so the manager cleaned the room herself, bedding, towels, bathroom, all of it! We waited patiently in the lobby while she cleaned and then gave us a discount for the weekend So appreciate her hard work Not the newest place but doing their best short staffed to make it clean and comfortable! Would stay here again!

Nice, Affordable hotel in the Duluth area! Exactly what you would expect from a Hilton hotel I don’t think that i can think of any complaints (other than some of the rooms not having microwaves) Up to date, modern design

Pool area looks nicer than most found at other hotels, and water temperature is nice I would highly recommend staying here if In the Duluth area

Matthew Larson

We stayed here in January of this year during a weekend family vacation that we took This hotel is awesome and love the location with easy accesses to everything without the price tag of the Hsrbor! Rooms were great, Our daughter loved the pool, and we had great interactions with the employees This what Hilton is all about and why I only stay at Hilton properties when I travel

Laura M Coronado

The hotel is awesome Roomy rooms, great breakfast (included), super clean The only problem for me was the price

When I did the reservation with bookingcom I saw it advertised as $125 (in all different sites) when I went, my reservation was not there and I ended up paying $175 plus taxes It was late at night and we were exhausted so we stayed Yet if I have had more energy and time, I would have complained or gone to another hotel

Historic hotel meets an updated shopping experience! First time staying and was blown away by the awesome history and wonderful hometown shopping with quaint boutique shops with local fare Dog friendly also! Right on the lake Had dinner at the Boat House and the food was handmade and absolutely delicious! Plus the view of the lake was breath-taking! Then spent some time at the spa and had one the best message I have ever had! The spa is wonderful

Lunch at the Mexican restaurant before leaving, again, the food was delicious!

I was surprised how much I liked this hotel! I thought it might be loud, being downtown, or too busy, or small rooms

But none of that was true! The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was great, the views from the lakeside rooms were really cool (we watched a ship come in and the bridge go down)! We liked the pool and the hot tub, and the pool area was nice! The room was clean and mostly well-stocked, and the one thing we needed we were able to get very quickly and easily The room was spacious and comfortable Parking was free and covered and seemed very safe Check in and check out were simple and we were able to get in and out easily We were a short drive from Canal Park and from almost everything else!

Maura L

We only stayed one night and got to town late but located in downtown this was a pretty good location for us It was very quiet surprisingly Very nice staff

Free parking in their parking garages There’s a restaurant on level 2 that was pretty good with nice employees as well Dove is the brand of soap, shampoo and conditioner in the rooms Would recommend this location if you’re in the area

Ordered their special in the restaurant and despite not being much of a fish eater I would order that again!! 10/10 best fish I’ve ever had 😋WARMED POOL, Hot tub and an even hotter sauna! Cannot go wrong taking a dip in any of themHad a blast throwing some darts in the bar at the end of the night

The shower in the room is a little shorter than the average person So a slight squat was required :(And the breakfast was very disappointing

The location of the hotel is good for activities in canal Park It’s also close to superior street for shopping and nightlife The hotel itself had 1 of the 2 elevators operational

Our room was ok, the couch had stains on it and the shower curtain had mold on it The room just felt old like it needs to be updated The jacuzzi in the bedroom was nice at night The pool area was nice and the sauna was relaxing It wasn’t awful but we don’t plan to come back

Sandy Cammack

I don’t know where to start, so many things about our stay Did not know it was pet friendly until we say a guy walk in with two cats and then barking dogs on leashes Also did not know the rooms are condominiums owned by private parties

Our room was dirty, floors, walls, couch, did not want to sit on the furniture The lobby was dirty, when we walked in at 2 in the afternoon they had a crew cleaning the carpet, my 1 1/2 year old granddaughter touched the bottom of the dirty pad of the carpet cleaner The elevators were dirty The pool had green mold/algae Everywhere you looked it was dirty and dingy The suite my kids stayed in smelled musty, the ceiling had a leak The shower curtain black mold and asked for a new one but never got one Our shower curtain moldy also Light bulbs in some lamps were burnt out We asked for sheets to cover the dirty couch and chairs The carpets were stained and filthy My son in law got a shock when he touched the lamp that wasn’t working Over all very scuzzy! Lack of concern from staffFacility neglected in every area Excuses from staff towards all the complaints We never got the condo that we booked, we got a one bedroom suite which was smaller The sheets were ripped and had holes I think the city needs to send an inspector over to check things out, sure it’s not up to code or health standards! Contact health department!

Brad Box

We were very disappointed in our stay Having stayed at this property before, we expected much more As we entered our room, after going back down to the desk to get a key card that worked, the first thing we noticed was a large sign on the dishwasher saying it was out of service

Then I went in to the bathroom and as I closed the door, the full length mirror fell off of the door Fortunately I caught it before it crashed to the floor and it did not break There was also a towel bar missingAdditionally, only one of 2 elevators was in service The rooms seemed clean, but some of the furniture in the suite was stained and looked horribleFor what ended up being a nearly $300 per night stay, we expected more and in my opinion, we should have received moreI would not recommend this property in it’s current state

The night before we were supposed to leave, we found out there was an issue with my car and it would not start We simply asked if anyone had any jumper cables or anything and they were more than happy to take the time to help us outside with my car I really, really appreciate that Everyone was really kind and attentiveOur room exceeded our expectations It was very clean Bed was super comfortable and the sheets were really soft I always have a hard time sleeping in hotels, but the pillows and everything was super comfy and I actually was able to sleep wellMy partner and I really enjoyed our stay – everything we were doing was not far at all, so it was a great location It was our first trip to Duluth/Superior and we definitely plan on coming back and staying at Boarders Inn & SuitesJust another HUGE thank you to the staff who helped us out with our car!!!! The wife and I came back to Duluth to experience Lake Superior when it was warmerWe had a really clean, comfortable room with a nice view of the lakeThis was the first time we stayed here, but in looking at the building during our time at the nearby beach, we decided we liked our room with no balcony over the rooms with a balcony as we felt rooms with no balcony had better views of the lake

With it being our first time, I had a lot of questions of the hotel staff and they were very patient with meThe one negative was our room didn’t have two chairs of the same type, but that could have been due to our getting a two queen bed room We had to get that kind because a king bed room with lake view was not available when I bookedWe will definitely come back if we have the chance

Catherine Glancy

My husband and I stayed on April 10th and had a wonderful night! Carrie was the super sweet front desk attendant who found us the perfect room, close to my sister’s room Lovely views of Lake Superior and spacious rooms with comfy beds is how I would describe our stay Only complaint is that we slept in and missed the breakfast that sounded delicious

Wow, this place is beautiful!! It is very clean, the staff were welcoming and the views of Lake Superior (especially when ships were coming in) were perfect Plus, this location has underground parking (first come first serve) with no additional fee!My husband and I did splurge and got the penthouse view/Suite, and it was worth it! Very spacious, clean, and it has a private balcony, plus a jacuzzi in a separate room that overlooks Lake Superior (but far away from the shore, so people won’t see you)I can’t wait for when we can go again!

Fry Logna

My wife and I stayed on the third floor with a lake facing room over Easter weekend and it was absolutely amazing (The views were breathtaking and a huge reason we selected this establishment) That being said the room was very clean and well kept and everything you would hope for in a room

While staff contact was minimal for our stay they were always super friendly and more then happy to accommodate any request/question we had An added bonus is they have under ground parking which is a lovely bonus as we could park and take an elevator right to our room and didn’t have to worry about heating the car up the one day it snowed 10 out of 10 experience with Beacon Pointe and would recommend this to anyone looking to be captivated by stunning views of Superior and a cozy rcute room!

My partner and I stayed here 2 nights and it was definitely the best hotel experience we’ve ever had I have pretty bad diagnosed ocd, and going to hotels can be incredibly stressful because I am very afraid of contamination This hotel is exceptionally clean, which was my biggest fear with this trip

Every surface in the building was very clean and looked modern and welcomingHighlights:-Extreme cleanliness-The hotel was very quiet, we rarely ever even heard other people from our room It almost felt like we were there alone despite a full parking lot-Breakfast was amazing They have good quality food and they don’t pack up right away when it closes, so you don’t have to worry about getting down there early They continued to refill their food even up to and past their breakfast closing time-Felt very safe My partner and I are a visably queer couple and we never felt unsafe in this hotel The doors also have deadbolts, stoppers, and peep hole covers Room doors automatically deadbolt and are pretty heavy-Big bathroom and shower Overall everything looked very nice and felt high qualityDownsides:-My biggest thing is that they don’t give you a lot in your room You get 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1 bath towel, 2 servings of coffee and 2 cups, along with some bags The room comes with some nice things like large bottles of soap in the shower, your standard iron, etc But you’d think that when booking for 2 adults for 2 nights you’d get more than 1 towel and 2 cups If we would’ve stayed longer then we would’ve needed to constantly ask the front desk for things You can request room service, but it has to be before 11 am They really don’t provide you with a lot-The bed was a bit hard and I would’ve preferred more supportive pillows, but you can request extra upon booking-Pretty lightweight bedding We requested an extra blanket and was given one that felt more like a foam pad?? It was weird Bring a weighted blanket if you need any kind of physical pressure to sleep-Not a lot of room storage One small closet and 2 dresser drawers total in the room-The fitness center looked nice and they do have laundry machines But the pool is lacking It’s incredibly small and shallow and there’s no hot tub I can’t imagine anyone going there for fun or exercise – honestly I’m not sure what the point of it isOverall it was an incredibly pleasant stay, and we will definitely be staying there again I would’ve really liked if they offered more, but what they do offer is of high quality If you’re looking for a safe, clean, and comfortable place to stay I would recommend this place 🙂

Filthy hotel Broken microwave and phone cord was cut Stayed 4 nights was charged 120

00 for our dogs Leslie at the front desk turned all ugly when asked about the UBS port in the room They don’t have any Ice machine was broke laundry was out of order This was by far the most expensive place for what you gotAlso outside siding is rotted and has holes in it The owners are not investing in this property at all I expect next year it will be an America s best value Oh don’t think you will have maid service

Emily Noelle

I’ve stayed here quite a few times and I truly cannot say enough good things about this hotel! Their prices are so reasonable compared to all the hotels in Duluth and they don’t require a two night minimum stay during the summer time like most of those money hungry hotels in Duluth I almost don’t want anyone to know about them because we’ve had such good luck with them 10/10 would recommend ☺️

The front desk staff was wonderful Welcoming, efficient, polite The room itself is clean and ample, lots of room, though little by way of clothing storage

The decor is a bit cheap and oddly placed, but sufficient for the price point Nice electronics, charging points, dimmable lighting The bathroom is great, accessible, well stocked with supplies, nice light, modern tub and shower, and spotless3 stars mostly because of the mattress It is hard as a rock, I’ve had softer accommodations in a tentIf you can tolerate sleeping on a stone platform, it’s a great little hotel and much more affordable than downtown Duluth or Cabal Park hotels

The room was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable and loved the soaps and lotionsThe breakfast was excellent, and you felt very safe and comfortable while eating with plenty of space without close contacts The front desk gentleman were very accommodating with information, both with checking in at night and the morning gentleman

Coffee and hot water for tea available all night Best of all the exercise room was open all night I could do my walking in there instead of outside in the 4degree weather We enjoyed our stay after traveling 14 hours in the snow and wind

I would stay there again It was cool to see a glimpse of Lake Superior from our window, see the fog and clouds come up from the lake

A real special treasure set immediately on the gritty Twin Ports waterfront Great views A fun blend of Great Lakes industrial and North Woods cabin

Nice hotel with great views of the lake Excellent staff who were kind and courteous They kept everything neat and orderly

One thing is the rooms with balconies that over look the harbor are not private :/ It’s nice sometimes to have secluded outdoor space when trying to relax and focus on emails But overall would come back again 🙂

First time visit The overall impression was very good Check in could have been more informative about how breakfast worked

Had dinner reservations & the hostess was grumpy She tried to sit us at a high top in the corner next to the wait station in the bar area & when I told her we didn’t request a high table her response was snotty that a reservation doesn’t offer us a choice of table but sat us near the window in the lower area I wouldn’t go back even though the food was satisfying Our waitress was busy and didn’t check in with us enough My biggest issue was the hot tub Should be adult only Instead it was a kiddy pool with floaters Gross & disgusting what goes on in there Not a feature that interested me Should have had both fire pits open but instead only 1 and I’m not interested in sitting with strangersOnly real positive was our view from the room It was amazing
