TLDR: Rooms felt outdated, musty, and grimy Only stayed 2 nights, departed earlyI don’t generally write reviews critiquing everything, but this hotel was largely disappointing

I was there for 2 nights and departed earlyThe lobby was welcoming and all the staff were very personable The hotel offers valet, but I never had any trouble parking my car myself in the lot behind the hotelUpon entering my room, the decor was very outdated and had an overall musty smell The room (balcony with gulf view) had a decent view, but the room, bathroom, and balcony were pretty small Realistically only 1 person at a time can fit on the balcony It’s pretty iffyThe bed itself was an old spring mattress and is in need of updating The bed and pillows had a musty, mildew smell that was off putting Despite signs EVERYWHERE saying everything is disinfected, I found multiple areas that weren’t cleaned For example: the remote, door handles, the curtain, crumbs behind TV, dust around the mini fridge I bring disinfectant wipes for high-touch areas for this reasonMoving on to the bathroom – it’s small The floor floods every time you turn on the shower because there’s no shower liner I opted to just put towels all over the floor There is a “pull-bar” but the shower is SO slippery, it needs texture to prevent falls To add on to the bathroom, there was no vent so any steam wasn’t being vented out properly I also had to request hand soap, there was none when I walked into the roomThe hotel itself is very conveniently located There’s plenty of restaurants in the area, and it’s a 2 minute walk from the beach The pool is pretty awesome too when it’s not packed Swim up bar is availableOverall, for ~$300 a night, I’d expect more from the hotel Better bedding would be a start In the current state, I’d rather stay in other luxury hotels in the vicinity

Super-friendly staff with terrific service and great suggestions for what to do, see and where to eat, in particular Joshua Great help!Parking is pretty easy and priced well at $12 a nightNicely priced all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet @ $17 per person

We caught the tail-end of the first shift of food, so it was warm to cold Our second plates were spot-on with the scrambled eggs and French Toast leading the flavor raceWalked right across the street to the beach Hotel is also walking distance to a full-service Kroger with a Starbucks inside, and walking distance to a terrific steakhouse (The Steakhouse) at the San Luis ResortAdditionally, walked to and enjoyed the $695 ride at The Rain Forest CafeHotel has a clean pool with a swim-up bar and great bartender (Ashley) Drinks were delicious, well-balanced and fairly priced Fun crowd as well Decent amount of seating to tan, read and relaxWhile the rooms could use some touch-up paint and upgrading, overall a good and pleasant experience Would return to this hotel

My husband, 2 year old, 7 month old, and I stayed 4 nights on a short summer get away We arrived around 10:00pm on a Tuesday night and when we went to check in, we were told that they had overbooked our room so we were put in a different (older and bad view) room than what we had reserved and they would switch us the next day We were unhappy because we purposely asked for a King bed because my kids sleep with us and will not sleep without us

So my husband and I each took a child and slept in separate beds Then time came to switch rooms With the kids it was a huge hassle because anyone knows with kids (especially babies) they require a lot of stuff The hotel comped breakfast one morning and valet parking for us and also gave us one extra night at the same rate even though the rate was way more The King bed room was much nicer than the first night and the view was amazing My daughter loved looking out the window at the ocean The beds were also very comfortable The hotel definitely did make up for the mishap and the staff were all very nice Michael, the head valet, was absolutely amazing and helped us move all our bags He shared with us about his family and kept apologizing that we had to switch with the kids Every time he saw us at the hotel he always asked how we were doing and told us to let him know if we needed anything I honestly can’t say enough nice words about him and you can tell he was so sincere

Our stay here was during off season, so the restaurant was relatively quiet, but they made us comfortable and let us sit outdoor on the deck where we could enjoy the gorgeous view of the sunset on the water Amazing! The food was delicious and my steak was cooked perfectly But the real highlight was the incredible service and attention we received

The manager Bai (not sure if I am spelling that correctly) was gracious, helpful, and attentive Our server Armand was so warm, personal and kind They really made the atmosphere and the experience quite special

The resort is absolutely beautiful and very family friendly Staff members were very friendly and attentive I’m not giving the full 5 stars because the cleanliness was not what I’d expect from a 5 star resort

Our hotel room had pubic hairs, scalp hairs, dust, and urine around the base of the toilet and splotches of water and likely some sort of soap in the shower It had clearly not been well-cleaned, if at all In addition, the very back pool was quite dirty I can deal with leaves and some debris at an outdoor pool, but this had a lot of built-up leaves and debris in the deep end of the pool, like DAYS worth Staff were actively cleaning the lazy river, but no attention was given to the rear pool near the sand feature I’m not speaking of sand (there was that too, but that’s expected when there’s sand nearby), this debris was dark in color and very built-up It could have easily been scooped up and would have been much more appealing

Mark Anderson

This is a top notch place for a family getaway that we’ve enjoyed a number of timesLots to do with a fantastic water park, game rooms, excellent fitness center, daily planned activities for the young ones, and lots and lots of grounds to explore The staff is super friendly and attentive as well

It could definitely use more dining choices so be prepared to order in or make a quick local jaunt when the hotel is full This spring break week they were doing in-room dining for an only $5 flat service charge which was unexpected but awesome! We will be back again and again

Jazmin Juarez

This was one of the best hotel resorts I’ve visited in the states so far The staff were completely friendly and hard working Made me feel at home and the water park is fun for the whole family

Love the restaurants and variety and the rooms were beautiful and roomy The conference area was great and spacious and beautifully decorated I definitely recommend this place for business or a pleasure travel

At check in neither digital key nor card key was available so the valet had to let us in our room 30 minutes later (after 4) still There was no key available, front desk said they have problem with the systemOur room had One little container of shampoo for four people and there were no washcloths

In the morning went for breakfast buffet and we were informed that they did not have the Buffet that they What happened?our last day I was trying to stay one extra day and I ask two hours before our check out if my room or others was available, they assured me it is available and other roomsAt 10:30 I called front desk that I want to check out since our plan didn’t work They would not give me an hour time to check out The lady at front said that my room has been given to someone else and there are no other rooms available and we have to leave immediately She said that’s the hotel policy I had to beg for 30 minutes extra time to get the whole family with all kinds of stuff out of the room It was unbelievable to be treated like this at this place so-called resortWe have been to many real resorts

Jackie Driver

Came for a nice weekend with my family Overall it’s good but for the price I would expect more The pool is enjoyable, however we all left with an insane amount of bug bites!! The wait for drinks was way way longer on Saturday morning than Friday

My room was not very clean There was hair in the shower and on the toiletMy son found used cough drops under the bed thinking they were candy! Was not happy with thatIt could be a great place but needs more renovations for the cost!

Always heard great things about this place but never wanted to spend money on myself to go Thankfully my husband got me a certificate and I am so glad I went I can honestly say if you go in for a massage you are getting so much more with your money

The heated Jacuzzis, pools, poolside service, nap room and self serve coffee and tea It was great and will return and be gifting this in the future as well! Staff is superb as well

Chas Funderburg

I used to drive Uber and drop passengers off at this locationNow, my wife and I spent 3 days there, and all I can say is, that the staff is very friendly, the rooms are nice (and use Bulgari products), and the staff at the Tribute Restaurant are very nice, especially GonzoIf you get a chance, save your pennies and visit

It is well worth it

Sridhar Chilimuri

This is a remarkable hotel in a beautiful setting We attended an event and stayed for 3 days The hotel decorations for the event were spectacular

The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable The bathrooms are nice with excellent toiletries The rooms are clean and impeccable We can hear sounds from outside so higher floors are better The staff are highly professional, friendly and prompt Since the event catered most of the food I cannot comment on the restaurants The gardens are nice to go for a stroll despite being in the middle of the city The resort had many facilities which I did not use The botanical garden is only half a mile away with plenty of parking If you are planning an event this place is a must The staff will ensure it will be an outstanding success!

I chose this hotel because it’s close to the hospital Since, we have been here, the staff has been amazing They are extremely kind, hospitable, and accommodating

The first room that I was given was dusty, the bed was halfway fixed, and the floor hadn’t been vaccumed The clerk immediately assigned me another room that was cleaner The pool was inoperable and I wished that the website had specified that before I made the reservation online, other than those two things, we had a great stay

The room was clean and the mattress was great You have a full kitchen, with burners, pans, plates, and silverware Much nicer than what I expected

The place is older, and the walls could have used a coat of paint, but everything was good – it felt like you were staying is a guest house Service was friendly, and there is a happy hour and hot/cold breakfast Great value and friendly people

Morgan Henske

We were very happy with our stay The room was spotless, the public spaces are beautiful and clean, and the staff is very friendly As others have said, this is an older location but I’ve never seen an older place so well taken care of

We can tell it’s older not by aging but by it’s quality and type of systems The AC/heat broiler system cools very well even during this historical June heatwave You have control over the fan speed and have an off option Even during the heatwave we never used the high setting There are also ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room areas The breakfast had good, healthy options including make your own waffles, different bread and bagel options, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal, milk, orange and cranberry juice, and of course good coffee Overall, I’d highly recommend giving this place a shot It feels like you’ve been transported some place other than College Station and it gives you a cozy home feeling Extended stay options available

Christine C

This was the first time I brought my dog to stay at a hotel, so I was extremely consciousThe staff were so friendly and kind, they put me in the George Bush two bed room suite, which was great The suite is the corner room so even if my dog barked while I was away he wouldn’t bother other guests

I was very pleased that they trusted their guests to leave their dog unattended, this is the main reason why I got a hotel instead of staying at friends’ houseI had my camera hooked up and thankfully my dog didn’t bark and slept for most of the 6-7 hours that I was gone I turned on the TV in the corner bedroom and the TV in the living room, he slept like a baby until I returned I highly recommend people traveling with dogs to stay here! And great policy, I appreciate it!Oh and the free breakfast and wine happy hour was a bonus!

Absolutely wonderful spot This resort is only about 25 hours away from our home near Houston but you feel like you are so far away from everything when you’re there

The drive down the 3 mile long, curvy and hilly entrances is beautiful and really gives you a sense that you’re getting away from it all When you pull in to the entrance you can just feel that this place is just awesome Every single staff member we encountered were super friendly and nice The grounds are beautiful and there is plenty to do for everyone We love the lazy river/pool area We’ve been several times to Lost Pines and even when it was 107° degrees, the lazy river feels great Plenty of shade from lots of trees and the water is cool We’ve shot skeet, rode horses, taken nature hikes, the kids did build-a-bearthe place is amazing The restaurants are very good too There’s something for whatever you’re into and plenty of room for large groups We’ve stayed in the Governor’s Suite every time and it’s a great room Plenty of elbow space, couple of small refrigerators and a very large bathroom in the bedroom Great place all around and we highly recommend a stay!!

Lorena Abitante

It was really good overall The staff are friendly The property is gorgeous

You do feel you’ve escaped being there I think it’s over-priced at $575/ night They don’t give you a dang thing for that expense Only two bottles of water per room per day The skeet shooting and horseback and all other activities outside the pool cost extra They even charge $18/ day to self park And everything is expensive in the resort One complaint I do have is the lack of the respect to people who don’t have kids I know this is family oriented That’s great However, every night kids ran up and down the halls as late as after 11 pm and by 9 am And they allowed kids to ride scooters in the lobby At one point I’m dodging kids There’s one space where adults have to go in the whole building to have some downtime called Scribes I was told by staff that they are allowing children in there now Sunday through Thursday Just no! I needed some peace for just a bit They need to keep that an over 21 area They also need to close the doors so it’s even more relaxing Please consider that not everyone that visits has children And we deserve a downtime area Like I said, spectacular place with views of the Colorado River and wonderful lazy River Just leave adult areas for the adults Please

Benny Castro

A great vacation that really only needs some extra attention to detail to make it 5 stars and worth the priceI really enjoyed my time here The staff were all so great

Everyone was friendly and made us feel so welcomeThe room was nice Mostly updated and very comfortableMy main complaint with the hotel stay would be the lack of food/water There is no room service available, which is truly bizarre for a resort On top of that, the vending machine on our floor was broken, and the water dispenser was broken So we only had our 2 bottles of water This is something that is so easily rectified by simply having housekeepers stock the refrigerator with extra water on floors with broken machinesThe restaurants were all great The breakfast was delicious with nice variety The bar had a nice food selection tooThe Spa is included with resort stay, which is a really nice surprise There’s steam and dry saunas, jacuzzi and pool, gym and massage All very goodThe only complaint I had is the men’s shower was broken and only had cold water, which really sucks But after a sweat in the sauna you gotta do what you gotta doI really would say it’s great, and deserves 5 stars if they paid attention to the broken stuff It’s not a budget hotel, they should be on top of these minor issues that can take away so much from a guests enjoyment

Truly wonderful stay! We needed a few days and a room that was wheelchair friendly They were more than happy to accommodate us Everyone was very friendly and if we had a challenge because of my chair, they were quick to help out

They might be a bit difficult to find and a touch older hotel than others, but they are more than worth it!!

I was very disappointed in this hotel We had driven all night and had made our reservation through Hotwire We had 4 adults and when making the reservation had 2 choices: King Size Bed or ” The Hotel will pick for you” with the guarantee that they would pick a bed that would fit your party

Well after driving 17 hours and expecting to be able to immediately go to bed, we discover that there is only a room with a king size bed and pull out sofa left Not only did we have to make our own bedbut the pullout only comfortably fits one adult the only other option besides sleeping on the floor was to have my legs from the knee down, hang off the L shaped sofa alongside of the pullout bedThe lobby was loud and had the feel of a airportand the carpet looked like it could use a good vacuum Not at all worth the 16000 Be careful with Hotwire in particular as they make it sound really good for the hot rate, when in fact it is not The only saving grace was the staff who was helpful

This is a very nice hotel with great amenities The restaurants have really good food and a wide selection The rooms are very modern and nice with lots of room to spread out

The location of the hotel is wonderful since there are multiple restaurants within walking distance For an Ambassador Elite member the staff, especially Kevin, made me feel right at home I’m definitely staying here again

Peter Hatchell

There is no barrier between the shower and the bathroom at large; consequently, showers inundate the ENTIRE bathroom with water Additionally, the lights in the rooms are annoying They are overly modern, hard to operate, and worst of all, automatically shut off WHILE YOU ARE USING THEM

This hotel is very nice but aspects of it push modernity to the point that they are wildly inconvenient to use I am so glad that I only have to deal with these things for two nights Any more would be maddeningBeds are nice Gym is nice Everything is crazy overpriced thoughOh and you cannot access the stairs? What are we supposed to do in the event of a fire? What if I don’t want to go on a crowded elevator during a pandemic? This is not conducive to good health, safety, or a pleasant hotel experience Very unpleasant I would much rather use stairs than an elevator at any given point The stairs are what knock this down from a three star to a two star review

Andrew T

Honestly, the best treatment I have ever received from a Marriott property This hotel is not just amazingly clean and modern, but every single employee I interacted with was incredible I stayed at this hotel years back when it first opened and it was wonderful then

They have not lost their touch This is rated a 4-Star hotel, but 5-Star treatment Rooms are immaculate, beautiful hotel, hallways nice and clean, bathrooms are perfect, views are amazing and the location is the best around

This place is what I assume Austin is was like before their big boom A really cool vibe in the rooms, pool and a nice bar by the pool Beautiful trees and landscaping

The pool was lovely and the area is super cute The staff seemed nice, but you could tell they were stressed and understaffed (very common right now) They say they can do breakfast but 1) it’s very limited with just tacos and basic coffee and 2) they said they’d take 1-15 hours to arrive, so I’d recommend a cute cafe nearby Dinner was nice though! Check in was at 3, but my room wasn’t ready until 3:30 (another sign they’re understaffed) Rooms were clean and had a very cool vibe Loved the patio I will definitely be back

Rachel Hanses

This place feels like a step back in time The pool is amazing, the rooms are adorable and the pool bar lounge area is brand new The new owners have done so many cool things

The negative reviews are knit picky of a small business doing their best The service, the amenities and the grounds are gorgeous We loved it so much that we’re pool members now

Denise Martin

This hotel is so unique, we wish we could have stayed longer The beds were super comfortable! The road noise was not bad at all (as we’ve read in other reviews regarding this property) We tried the restaurant, the food was delicious and the service was great

We can’t wait to go back to this property for a longer stay We give it a thumbs up

If you have kids under 40” skip this place and check into the Great Wolf I attended a conference but kids were too small for slides One person maximum going down slides and 300# weight limit(was no where near limit)

Had a three year old that loves slides but he wouldn’t go down by himself like you can at Great Wolf Reception/Staff was not very knowledgeable about water park kept referencing the map Guidelines do not list a one at a time rule Tons of cute things in hotel for kids but posted notes that they are for pictures only, no climbing/touching Two kid meals on menu Again had to reference website for more options Indoor pool is part of a spa and people getting spa stuff done groan on kids actually playing Outdoor pool is hot Weather was over a hundred Nothing inside hotel was for kids except a tiny place you could paint a small cheap canvas or put something together Great wolf is literally next door Valet is high if you don’t use it I will definitely stay at Great Wolf next time and use valet to park Three hour wait on dinner was insane I wish I had known

Absolutely fantastic! Everyone was super nice and helpful So many things to do! The shuttles to see the shows were great and the drivers were super cool! My only complaint is that we did not get our room cleaned the last two days we were there and our coffee supplies had run out I called the front desk and they delivered more coffee after about a 30 minute wait

I really need my coffee in the morning! I guess I should have called the night before but I was too exhausted from all the fun!

Stayed here and found our room ready early, which was quite nice Room was clean overall with comfortable & fluffy beds (2-queens), plenty of towels, high pressure shower and not far from elevator Service is super friendly too, here! The hotel is beautiful all over with it’s spacious gardens, water fountains, coffee shops and more

Four tickets for their water park were included which was awesome great water park with slides, zip lining, splash pad and more! I highly recommend it, even if it’s just for a nice walk around the hotel and having a refreshing cup of coffee with a loved one! 🌺🍃

Went with my wife and our 3yo son, had a wonderful time! Already discussing when we should return again The lake-view room was the right choice, just be ready for that bright Texas sunriseThe staff were very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere inside was always soft and relaxing with lots of dark wood and neutral tones under soft lighting, and the outdoor areas were very well kept and vibrant with flowing water always near by

While I saw no explicit dress code, I felt most comfortable in a light polo shirt and slacks/shorts there, as did most other guests

I can’t say enough about this hotel The location is within walking distance of a restaurant strip! The view is so serene and beautiful! The Manager on Sunday was absolutely 💯 fabulous He made sure that our stay was great and willing to help anyway possible

Everyone there from the front to the resturant was fabulous The breakfast was fantastic and we also enjoyed the 2 complimentary alcoholic beverages we received at the evening reception, as well as a few light snacks The infinity pool was very nice and the rooms were extremely nice with a large bedroom, separated living area, and bathroom and we had a walk around balcony 😀 Our experience at The Embassy in Woodland for Father’s Day, was an excellent, pleasant, & serene stay! We loved it and will be back!

Perfect for a last minute staycation with my family If you book and check-in via the app like I did, still go to the front desk to get your key (you’ll need it for the parking garage) and you happy hour card The entire staff I encountered including the front desk associates , bartenders and servers were all very knowledgeable and friendly

The breakfast was delicious The drinks and appetizers at happy hour were great also I will definitely book this location again

Nice, clean and spacious hotel Check in was fast and easy Our room was comfortable and roomy

Everything worked as it should Water pressure is light, but I’m ok with saving water The thermostat ran very cold, but it’s Houston so I’m not going to complain Breakfast was pretty good Lots of decent options, though their eggs were a bit on the over-processed side The location is very good with groceries and restaurants nearby I reserve 5 stars for the high-end hotels, but I had a nice experience and would have no problem staying here again

Hung out at the pool here for a day Nice setup with 3 pools and a hot tub Everything was clean and well maintained

Servers came by regularly Poolside menu was alright but didn’t find anything amazing Frozen margaritas were good and refreshing Unfortunately, in the afternoon our cabana started to lose the sun behind the resort towers so that took away from the experience of being outside poolside

Nicholas Wilson

Absolutely stunning resort We had a great time at the golf course and pool The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating

If there was an issue, they were more than willing to help resolve the problem The golf course was in great condition and a lot of fun The rooms were spacious and comfy and the accommodations were fantastic
