Very clean and safe property, staff was welcoming and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed The 24 hr coffee service in the lobby was a great perk as well Beds were very comfortable, we had plenty of towels and toiletries, lots of TV stations, and breakfast was filling and well maintained

Didn’t use pool and hot tub, though it looked nice The fitness room is small but had what I needed We definitely will stay here next time we’re in town Thank you Hampton Inn staff!

Krystyn Nichole

The only reason why I wasn’t able to give this place 5 stars is because they don’t have a pantry So no place to get water or allergy medicine or anything else one might need Luckily though across the street is a shell so that’s good

The breakfast is small but it’s fresh and delicious The housekeeping really cleans your rooms the throughly which is good Plus the front desk agent with the pink hair is amazing she just made my stay so great She has awesome customer service skills and you can come to her about anything and she will help you out I would definitely stay again and recommend to my family just because of her

I wasn’t going to bother to write a review but after seeing what the manager wrote to my friend I will I normally only write good reviews and don’t bother with the bad ones but this one truly deserves itCal a Vie might have been a luxury resort as the manager called it but it is certainly to longer one, as I frequently travel to luxury resorts

The place is dirty, understaffed and with poor service, so bad that our 4 hour experience was enough for wanting to leave Talked to the manager and told her about our negative experiences and we left with the agreement she would refund us They did not, still charged us a deposit of 4000 US dollars for both and only now say it was the policyLike my friend said, we would have left anyways as we thought it was absolutely horrible ( have been to other beautiful spas together which we have loved ) but telling us we would get refunded and then charging us is just to much I guess it just shows who they are Pls don’t bother to write more lies If you ever had a luxurious spa and you still charge the same, work on getting it back to what it was (and what you advertise it is)

My husband bought this trip for us in December 2019, three months before the Pandemic shutdown Unfortunately, we could not get it booked until June, 2022 California was the last to take off masks and mandates, so this was the best time we could make it work

We were told by management, the pricing was going up soon so we would have to pay the difference if we did not get it booked ASAP We booked it, and felt maybe we would have been better off paying the difference due to our service Upon arrival we did not feel like we received the same attention as the other guests Our room (room #1) was old and we were told by staff on about three occasions that rarely do they put people in that room We know whythe shower was broken (asked to fix but barely trickled out) the room was small and everything seemed run down The other guests raved about their rooms and were definitely far nicer than ours We did not get a tour of the property as the others did, so we showed ourselves around Unfortunately did not find out about the Cryo therapy until the last day, nor did we know the ins and out of anything so would ask others for guidance The lady who checked us in for activities seemed a bit short and not very friendly I told her I was allergic to crab and my husband would not eat one thing with onions and low and behold, one of my first meals was full of crab that I had to return and my husband had onions in any dish served with onions included My name was spelled wrong on tags and the table place holders so I felt like the attention to detail was lacking We arrived 10 minutes after appetizers at 6:40 which started at 6:30 and the food was gone and were told that was it Strange to pay this for a wellness place and not be treated as I believe we should have been On a positive note, the food was tasty, good morning workouts, and the spa treatments were great! The view from the top was beautiful, but strangely did not see it until the 2nd or 3rd night and the resort should have people up there immediately since it is such a beautiful view near the vineyard Overall we are glad we got to see what it was all about, and got to visit beautiful California!!

Juanita Brooks

It was a disaster The grounds were run down and the common rooms were filthy After 2 hours my friend, who flew in from Chile, from our spa adventure and I just really wanted to leave

We talked to the manager who assured us a full refund and admitted that they were understaffed Now they are refusing to refund the original $4000 deposit I paid for the two of us The whole experience was so negative that I’m willing to give up the $4000 rather than ever going there again

My job has me staying at hotels at least a week or two a month, so I can say with confidence that Comfort Inn Escondido San Diego North County is my preferred place to stay when I’m at this end of California The rooms are always clean, they never smell bad, and cleaning is done daily I have stayed in hotels that cost twice as much and were half as pleasant

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the manager goes out of his way to accommodate your needs I also like that they have hot breakfast with plenty of options all included I would absolutely recommend staying here, and will definitely continue to stay as well! I would also like to give special thanks to the cleaning staff for being so on top of things!

Amy jo

The staff is always very friendly and helpful The manager does what he can to make sure you have a pleasant stay And i would like to say thank you to the cleaning staff they do a wonderful job and i was very pleased that when i left my shoes behind, when i came a few days later they were turned into the office

And my boyfriend loves that there is always water, chips and cookies included with room and free breakfast a hot breakfast at that Fresh fruit, make your own waffles, juices, etc, nice variety to choose from! I always try to stay here when im down this way All rooms have balconies, rooms are nicely decorated and location is great, surrounded by much to choose from Prices are great and they will try to get you the best rate! Very pleased with hotel, i definitely recommend staying here!

Donna Urbina

Today I stayed at the comfort inn and it is one of the safest and cleanest hotels I’ve ever been to They went above and beyond to help me with my reservation and change it for me, The staff was super friendly and welcoming They have a public pool which I went to but if you don’t like going to the pool in public they have a Jacuzzi room which we ended up getting, it’s a super huge and fits a few people

Especially in the hot days like today it has hot and cold settings so even though it’s 100° and you can enjoy the Jacuzzi with super cold water and the jets They had a hot breakfast in the morning which I really appreciated because I didn’t have to get up and rush to leave I could enjoy my breakfast and coffee in my room they are also super close to downtown Escondido which has a lot of places to visit in a bunch of places to eat which is great if you have a family and want to go out and explore the neighborhood All in all I felt super safe and welcomed I recommend anyone to stay at this hotel and if you haven’t already try it out you will not regret it 10:10 would recommend to anyone, will be coming back soon

Stayed here for 3 days for an upcoming wedding Upon checking in, I told them I was with the wedding block and had called 2 months before We arrived WELL all the room blocks were full

So they gave me a regular room, checked it out but it did not have a balcony or view So I went back down to the front desk to see what they could do for us They did manage to get us in the wedding block which I was thankful for Went to the Villa and walked in and found a Cockroach 🪳 in the room! Room was nicely renovated and big with a patio which was great Day 2 the air was not working hardly at all! I guess we weren’t the only ones! Upon checkout I did let them know again of the problem In all I give them 2 stars but would not stay here again! There are nicer places for the money we spent!!!

Cheeto

Scenic and peaceful Course wise, I cannot comment, as I am neither seasoned nor a neophyte We were there for a conference

The room and areas around the room conference room itself were simple and pleasant I absolutely loved the grand piano in the check in lobby That said, I advocate for the staff: if you do not play piano WELL, then DO NOT HAVE INDECENCY OF PLAYING IT All caps, yes, but I am a musician You’ll understand (hopefully) Rooms wise, we stayed in the eight hundreds Very spacious, clean and adequate lighting I would recommend that there be a dedicated dim light for the bed, as having a general room light for everything in the main area is very harsh on the eyes Same for the bathroom It’s either dark or retina searing bright That’s for the lighting Bed wise, very plush and comfortable I slept soundly Furniture wise, I had no complaints Simple, minimalistic and clean The shower? Easy to walk into and it did not spill water Food wise for events? Meh for breakfast For lunch from three restaurant on-site? A very meh We ordered the Tuscan Chicken Panini, nachos and beyond burgers Everyone was unanimous We should’ve ordered elsewhere Staff in general? Courteous and helpful We we stay there again? Yes, but eat elsewhere Everything else is tranquil and calm

OK so to start, I grew up going to this resort every summer as a kid My grandparents had a time share there So for the nostalgia of it all, it was wonderful

And to now be able to share those memories with my kids, it was awesomeThey have made many upgrades to the place There is a brand new gym with nice equipment and even a rock wallHowever, the pools do not open until 9 and the 2 water slides do not open till 11:15!! The clubhouse (which right now there is only 1 open) does not open till 11!! Which means you can’t check out equipment like fishing rods etc until almost the heat of the day! This place is supposed to be a family resort but does anyone know what time kids get up in the morning?!! Hint, it’s not 9 or 11! LolAnd then all the pools close at 9 so if you and your spouse wanted to go enjoy the hot tub in the evening on your vacation, you have to do it earlyIt’s just oddWe had a mouse in our room Not a huge deal, it happens right but all they had were huge rat traps! The mouse set them off twice but was too small to be caught by the contraptionYou have to reserve a time slot for most all of the activities which seems nice except for the fact that you’re on vacation and sometimes don’t stick to a schedule But most of the time, you couldn’t just walk up and do somethingAlso, if you reserved pickle ball at the nice main courts, you still had to go to Melody Hill to pick up your equipment! All in all, very odd Things were not open for very long or at the right times, reserving time slots was stressful and the Grill restaurant on site was very expensive :(Loved it growing up but I’m not sure we’ll go back

Paul Schaafsma

Wasn’t the best experience First thing after checking in you are invited to a Timeshare event/tour They were not pushy about it

The staff did try to make things right but in the end it just didn’t work out The first room we arrived at hadn’t been cleaned, so drive back to the front desk and wait in line They did send someone to help us move to another room Our son was to sleep on the pull out sofa, the mattress had a big stain on it, we had to call to get blankets for it, which arrived at 10:35pm Pull a towel from underneath the sink and it has mold on it Back to the front desk where they reimbursed our resort fee and gave us Resort Credit Not knowing how to use that we got instructed by the Front Desk We were able to use it twice but then the computer system went down for the remainder of our stay which means we barely used any of that perk for the inconvenience Would have been nice if they just took the remainder off our bill since there was now no way to use it If the resort credit had been reliable, I would give this place 3⭐️

Tawny Valdez

My family was kind enough to invite us to The Welk Resort for a 3-night stay They got a good price from probably a social media page You know the one that pulls you in

The check-in process was quick, but they really want you to purchase, we weren’t on the list so they even offered us a trip to Hawaii for two in exchange to sit in a presentation Not specified whether it was a round trip nonetheless, we quickly declinedThe resort itself is huge, we arrived on a Tuesday and there was a farmers’ market, quite small but sufficient (I will have pictures and a review of the market on a another page)ProsPool was niceThere was always parkingBBQ stations cleanRooms were clean and amenities sufficientFamily FriendlyConsPlace was hard to find on the mapWater park was extremely crowdedRec room needs renovation not the room itself but the amenities; pool table, ping pong table, shuffle boardIT SHOULD BE NOTED – The last evening there, the power went out and our friends were out of power since 12am, I know they left at 6am but nothing came from the front desk except apologies and no incentives Guess if you’re an owner it doesn’t matter?? Thank goodness we didn’t buy

Loved the quiet setting, cleanliness of the room, AMAZING shower water pressure, and very comfortable room, super thick and fluffy towels The dining room was exactly as it should be – cute and kitchy Room had a fridge and hair dryer, but a microwave would be a very necessary addition since no breakfast is available from the dining room

Would absolutely stay here again

Dan Eoriatti

After being seated by the host a bartender came by and asked if we had ordered, surprised that we had not ordered We said that no one has even been by to give us a menu This was almost 30 minutes after we arrived

There were tables near being served by waitresses They never even acknowledged us in any way even though eye contact was made The bartender eventually came back and took our order After our food arrived, no one ever came back to ask us if we needed anything I had to actually get up and go ask for my bill when we were done This is my first ever restaurant review We felt ignored Had someone said anything, anything at all about the wait or an apology for being overlooked I would not be writing this review

Sheana Eoriatti

Worst service We were seated and served water and dinner rolls within minutes Then waited THIRTY minutes before a bartender finally asked us if we were ready to order

Our response unfortunately was that we hadn’t even been given menus yet! Two different waitresses walked by a total of 5 times in that 30 minutes and not one of them stopped to ask if we needed help nor apologize for the wait I am thankful the bartender paid any attention However, even his service to us wasn’t great by any means Beyond that, the food was way overpriced for the taste

My son had a soccer tournament in Oceanside this past weekend and when I went to book unfortunately everything close was booked or overpriced We decided on this Hotel due to short distance from event All I can say is wow ! This small hotel is beautiful, spotless and customer service is above and beyond

It has a warm and cozy feel but yet the right amount of luxury I saw several guests with dogs and families with small children They have a nice pool and hot tub with towels provided 5-9 pm M-S happy hour at their bar with 2$ cocktails & beer I have to mention a gentleman that was there until late when we checked in and was also there first thing in the morning This guy was unbelievable! From working at the desk, to cleaning , running food out and much more Jack of all trades but with an amazing attitude and smile for someone who’s obviously overworked I believe his name was Mr Holmes and definitely deserves props He made a world of difference It did seem they were a bit short staffed during the happy hour and breakfast but you’d never notice due to the teamwork and positive staff Best complimentary breakfast I’ve had at any small hotel Chef preparing omelettes and small waffles and self serve bacon , sausage and eggs Cereal bowls , milk , coffee and muffins 24hr free hot coffee in lobby Super nice fitness room and small laundry Amazing rooms in pristine condition with super comfortable bedding , ice cold air , microwave and fridge Large restroom with oversized round tub perfect for a relaxing bubble bath The patio was decorated beautifully with lights , fire pits and water features Very tasteful modern decoration all throughout We were super tired after long day in the sun at my sons tournament and it was perfect to unwind in the beautiful outdoor setting Very quiet place I highly recommend this hotel and I’m looking forward to coming back with my family soon Thank you for making our stay so pleasant at such an affordable price and to all the employees for being so hospitable though working hard

Great service! Everyone at the front desk was lovely – especially Sean The lobby was clean and inviting, the rooms were comfortable and fresh smelling (and I was happy they came equipped with a microwave and fridge), and the hot tub was the perfect temperature Had a lovely stay and would definitely return

The only slightly annoying thing was how loud the doors were when they shut, I happened to have pretty active neighbors and every time they opened/closed that door in the late evening it woke me out of my sleep

Luba K

Amazing brand new hotel!! Everything is super clean and still has a new furniture smell Beds & pillows are very comfortable Room was very spacious with a large bathroom, microwave & mini fridge

Location is great too- about 30 min out from the beach, Target right around the corner, and coffee and restaurants near by The breakfast was great– omlettes made to order and decent selection of breakfast items Patio had plenty of seating & was pretty cozy Pricing was very competitive compared to other lower grade hotels in the area Would definitely be staying here again on out next trip

We stayed at the hotel as a large family group to attend a family wedding nearby It was a great hotel and at a fair price per night Staff were fantastic and tried to accommodate for all our needs and placed us all together

Clean and fresh rooms with spacious bathrooms with fantastic AC There are loads of restaurants nearby if you fancy to dine out or get a takeawayThe robot was a great touch If there was one criticism that would be the breakfast options which weren’t very great but I’d still give the hotel 5 star due to the overall experience

I stayed here (as long with MANY guests) for my wedding weekend The room I had was clean, it had everything I needed They even sent me a champagne bottle to celebrate my wedding day

The staff at the front desk was always very kind and always greeted me and my family or friendsThe fitness center was not crowded, it also looked very clean The pool was heated which was wonderful since it was in the low 50’s the days we were onsiteBreakfast was ok, they had bagels, oatmeal, cereals, milk, yogurt, and hot sandwiches upon request Regular coffee, decaf and tea were available 24/7 in the lobby

I stayed here for several weeks The beds are super comfortable and the hotel is very cleanThe only real downside is that they don’t offer a full breakfast

You get a grab and go bagel, 3 options for cereal and yogurt There was sign that was posted that I did not see very often (I could have just missed it altogether) that offered an egg/cheese/sausage sandwich but I think you had to take it back to your room to heat up I did not try it There was only on instance where I grabbed a boxed milk that was very curdledIn the room they have a mini fridge that you have to push a button that makes it a little colder to 2 extra hours Most hotels are going to this and its pure garbage Good enough for drinks but I would not trust it with leftoversThe staff were very nice tooI would stay here again without question

Adorable, quaint, and off the beaten path, a night’s stay at the Inn will not disappoint I grew up in San Diego and literally never realized Rancho Santa Fe had a “downtown” area Don’t expect much besides a restaurant or two, but it’s literally at the doorstep of the hotel and an cute couple blocks to take it

The Inn is composed of various bungalows that are very spacious if our room was any indication The staff with memorably pleasant and helpful And the grounds are gorgeous Highly recommend checking out this (relatively) hidden gem

Very nice property in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe We rented one of the larger units with fire place and patio Room was clean, spacious, comfortable

However there was a heavy smell probably because buildings are bit too old We spent most of our time on the patio Very relaxing Pool and surrounding area was clean, good housekeeping service Restaurant seems to get business from local patrons a lot and host/servers seem to value them over to visitors Restaurant host was a bit rude, almost reprimanding us for walking to a table in the patio We did not realize host stand was inside She told us no table on the patio is available and it could be hours before a new table opens But she left the host stand to clean a table to give it to a “regular” She whispered to them in front of us telling them she’ll give this table to them This is Somewhat understandable but wasn’t very smooth and made us feel unwelcome Yet overall it was a good stay I like the complimentary valley service Also special thanks to Evet and Paco who works very hard and went out of their ways to make sure we were served well in the restaurant during our last breakfast

We didn’t stay I wanted to comment on the food in the restaurant Over the last few years the quality has deteriorated

It’s such a lovely spot for lunch or cocktails but food isn’t so good these days Being a vegan, I don’t have many options Now the one truly vegan dish is bland and has terrible rice My husband orders other things but most have been somewhat disappointing Hopefully the new ownership will get it back to its old standards!

This is a very elegant yet tired and dated facility The rooms are spacious yet the finishes need immediate updating The staff were friendly and helpful

Unfortunately they might have been misinformed about renovations We were told that we will be at the newly renovated garden rooms, but nothing looked renovated except maybe a new wall socket with usb outletThe patio overlooking the fairway green is beautiful The drinks were good We also attended a wedding and that was in a beautiful setting

Alice Ettinger

This is a beautiful setting with magnificent gardens, golf course, and pools The rooms are spacious, but are in need of updating Air conditioning is in desperate need of replacement

According to staff, renovations will begin in May Maid service left much to be desired, although when they finally arrived, they did a nice jobThe desk and bell service were more than accommodating and most pleasant and always cheerful

Lou Webb

As a “local” we would visit once or twice a month to enjoy happy hour on the patio Decent menu and discount, fantastic location and views The staff was also first rate

Then out of nowhere, some brain surgeon, decided that happy hour was only allowed inside The thought that it would be better to have a patio full of empty tables instead of a 3/4 full is some next level math Guess we won’t be visiting for a while

I got married nearby and every time we had to stay somewhere to plan we stayed here! It is such a clean resort with friendly staff The breakfast was the only upsetting part, there was almost nothing to eat or drink The rooms were perfect and accommodated both bridal parties in their own suites

They were very understanding about keeping the parties separated, which we appreciated

Bill Delmer

The staff was excellent but the rooms were just ok, the cooking gear was old and scratched, I was not comfortable using it The breakfast however was simply awful I stay in these types of properties a lot and I checked in assuming I would get a decent breakfast but it was totally not up to the standards that this brand usually provides

Most mornings it’s just breakfast sandwiches, there were mornings where it was even less than that Once in a great while there would be little omelets, but maybe once per week Staff 5 stars, facilities 3 stars, breakfast 1 star and that’s generous I would not stay there again

Monina Buchongo

Short stay and WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN! I found a $400 charge by residence inn on my account I called to inquire about the charge and was accused of stealing pots, pans, and dishes I never got a call of investigation however, I was told by the person who answered the phone that the manager left a voicemail for me

Upon checking my voicemail, there was no message from anyone at the residence inn in San Marcos This is unacceptable and unprofessional This facility has no checks and balances for room inventory and when asked about it there was no solution Their products aren’t even mediocre, they’re cheap and of poor quality No thank you! DO NOT STAY HERE!

We experienced a very nice spacious, quiet, clean, well decorated , comfortable room The breakfast was very good All the staff that we encountered was very friendly and helpful

It was conveniently located near the freeway, stores and restaurantsWe would stay there again and probably will

I wanted to love the Best Western Escondido—there really are few decent hotels in Escondido It’s attractive and in a convenient location Our room was clean and beds were comfortable, if worn

Common areas were quite messy with trash piled up, and breakfast was okay I was not given the AAA rate, though I showed my card Wifi was completely inadequate even to check emails much less stream something The biggest problem was that (at the end of a very long day of moving) there was NO HOT WATER The tepid water there was was a disturbing brown color Front desk said he would “see what [he] could do to take care of the situation,” and, though the owner replies that it was fixed 45 minutes later, we never heard from him again and didn’t know it was fixed Apparently Best Western will not do something to make this right; a room with an unusable bath/shower is definitely not worth $374

James Hardin

If you have to save money then it will do, once you get to the room make sure you can adjust air conditioning down to 67 degrees or so, we could not and we had to play the blanket game( try to figure out how much blanket to cover yourself with) We did let the front desk know after our first of two night stay and they said they would take care of it, they didn’t Nice neighborhood, outdated rooms
