Absolutely fantastic staff and hotel! It looks very clean and nice all around the perimeter (even has a small creek), and the rooms are fantastic The front receptionist working on 5/25 around 5am was very quick and super helpful with an issue, I would absolutely recommend this hotel over any other in the areaThey even have the super rare noon checkout!!

All the staff was so friendly and very helpful! They treated our dog Princess like royalty 😉 The room was a decent size and clean The body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower was a nice touch The breakfast was a decent variety- the egg quiche was delish

Pancakes or waffles would be a nice addition We would definitely stay here again!

The staff was okay except for the young lady who is on Sunday morning She was the best! The manager left a great deal to be designed I ran into a problem I called several times but I never ever spoke with her I felt terrible because I had to go to customer service and that issue is still pendingGood morning breakfast lady was beyond great she was a wealth of information and totally competent

Did I mention the young lady that was on Sunday morning was the best I hope my auntillary concern gets worked out because that would move this rating from better than okay to pretty good

Kylene Lovell

I stayed here with my 80 year old grandmother We found an adult, mature bedbug on one of the beds I killed it and took it to the front desk, and my concern was dismissed

The clerk offered to change our room, which was nice, but he moved us into the room next door that shared a connecting door As we were packing up to move rooms, I found about 8 more, smaller bedbugs under the pillows and in the bedding I went back to the clerk and told him there were quite a few more- he thanked me and said nothing else If my grandmother had been able to, we would have left immediatelyThe next morning, the cleaning staff had NOT been made aware of any problems ans they were going to cycle the room like there was nothing wrongDo not stay at this hotel, they do not take cleanliness or customer concerns seriously

This is the second hotel stay I’ve had in the Richmond area (previously stayed at the graduate) and for the price, I must say this is the better pick It’s a quick drive into downtown Richmond, the immediate area did not feel threatening for two woman travelers and the hotel is well maintained and cleanIt is atrium style so I will say you can hear the lobby and bar area but honestly it wasn’t too loud as to be an issue

We got the two bedroom with the pullout and it was perfect for our situation The pullout was nothing fancy but I wouldn’t say it was uncomfortable by any means The bathroom is quite small but did not pose an issue to us Having a door between the two bedrooms was perfect for privacy and both rooms were quite largeThe lobby was great and even offered a nightly snack, we didn’t partake but I believe it was things like a vegetable and meat and cheese tray Contrary to other reviews there is definitely a bar, pictured belowMy only issue and one that definitely could have been avoided with a question on my part was the deposit being the same price as the the entire stay so you’re essentially having double your funds unavailable at once Not an issue for everyone but definitely something to ask about or keep in mindThe front desk staff was very friendly and helpful although the housekeeping staff did knock multiple times one morning when we had a do not disturb sign on the doorOverall I recommend this hotel and I would stay again next time I’m in town

Leslie Theodorakakos

First I would say the front desk staff was very nice…always smiled and greeted us The breakfast was also very nice We were in town for a graduation and it was Mother’s Day weekend, so the hotel was crowded and VERY noisy on Saturday night

We went to graduation on Sunday and when we returned, our room had not been cleaned When I called the front desk for towels and coffee on Monday morning I was told that, since the start of the pandemic, rooms have not been cleaned daily because staff shortages I understand, but there are no signs in the room letting guests know The rooms are comfortable but quite outdated No bottled water was provided and only shampoo and conditioner as far as toiletries were provided The bathrooms are extremely small For the price we paid, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel nor would I stay again

tideroll55

I read several reviews and decided to stay here to see how it was Overall experience was EXCELLENT I would definitely stay here again

Jason the guy who checked us in went above and beyond They even started up the two free drinks at 530pm Indoor pool was fantastic Continental Breakfast was AMAZING Even though its a fancy hotel, I think to go plates for breakfast would be great

We checked into the hostel by chance while driving though the area on our way to Florida The gentleman at the front desk was extremely friendly and very nice He gave me a choice of floors to be on which was appreciated

The room was standard size, with 2 queen beds a desk & dresser & fridge together The beds were comfortable, but I hate the 1/2 pillows The room & the bathroom was clean If I have a complaint there were many scratches and spots that looked like stains on the walls The place could use a new coat of paint Breakfast was a simple fair of waffles, cereals, muffins & breads, instant oatmeal There were no eggs or hot foods, but there were those microwaveable sausage, egg & cheese on a croissant They were actually pretty good It was a Friday night, so it was roughly $180 for the night Not terrible

Don Bisi

My only concern is the fraudulent billing The room and breakfast were great and I have no complaints about the stay I later checked my credit card and found an additional $15 charge

I was told it might be a hold, but it did not drop off, and when I called the hotel I was told that the owner added a $15 charge for a missing “small soap dish”? I was never notified of the charge He had email and phone number, but all he really needed was credit card number I wonder how many people get billed additional without knowledge? If anything was really missing, then it was gone before we got there

Airyl Reed

Staff is friendly, patient, helpful and the only good part about this hotel The building itself is extremely outdated The fitness center had rusted equipment that isn’t even worth using (only had 3 cardio machines and one seated cable machine, no mats, dumbbells, or even a bench)

Despite seeing the house keeping staff work hard, everything felt super dirty (probably because of how old it is) We even had a blanket from the closet that smelled like urine and our bathroom towels had stains on them Also despite what it says on the website, they did not have their signature eggs for breakfast, the only hot item was if you made a waffle Highly recommend choosing elsewhere for your hotel

RC Family

Room was very comfortableHowever, the bathroom door did not close There was gunk all over the bathroom fan

There was hair stopping up the shower drain that I had to remove to get the shower to drain at all (eww) No soap for the dishwasher in our room at allHardly any toilet paper left on the roll and no backup rolls in the room so I went down to get more There was no one at the desk, which I understand, they can’t be there all the time, but there was no way to contact anyone and calling the phone just rang the deskwhere there was no one All in all had to wait for 15 min for toilet paperI mean, the room was very comfy, and we had a good time on our trip, but for $200+ a night before taxI really feel the details were lacking Especially the bathroom door that wouldn’t close There’s just no way someone didn’t know about that

Dawn Ohlendorf

Stayed here unknowingly on a Friday night as I was passing through on a family trip There is a nightclub at the hotel next door and you can hear it like it’s right beside your room until they close! I am a bonvoy member and this isn’t the standard I’m used to with Marriott I called down to say something and was told the girl was the only person there – and she couldn’t do anything about it or provide points as a concession for the noise

Don’t stay here on a weekend

I asked about breakfast and she said it wasn’t complimentary, you had to pay to order One of my favorite things about going to a hotel, is the free breakfast before starting my day Te hotel is in a great location

We checked in and walked next door to have dinner at Red Robin There was also a dollar tree next door We walked to the movie theater just to get a tub of popcorn and return to hotel for movie night The kids enjoyed the pool and the jacuzzi There were shampoo and conditioner in the shower which was a plus I would stay here again

I dont give 5 star reviews They must be earned This Courtyard by Marriott earned it

Every member of the staff that we interacted with was professional, friendly and very courteousThe room was very clean The bathroom was clean The bed was clean and very comfortable so that I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud and woke very well restedThe rates were very affordable Check in and check out was easy The young lady that checked us in went out of her way to be helpful but I failed to get her nameI highly recommend this Courtyard to all travelers

Hotel is outdated Rooms are old Wallpaper peeling off the walls

Rusty sprinkler head falling off the ceiling No hot water in the shower I told the GM about it Nice guy, but he seemed to be surprised It’s interesting to see that other people posted about the same issue though This hotel is not up to the typical Marriott standards in my opinion I’ll stay somewhere else next time

I got married here 4 years ago today and when I say it was the most wonderful experience of my life I’m not exaggerating The staff was absolutely amazing and there isn’t one detail about my wedding or reception that I would change I relive this day with my family and friends all the time and to this day I get compliments on my wedding the location how accommodating the staff was and how wonderful and clean the entire hotel was

Everyone I worked with there was extremely professional and friendly And the Fragrance the minute you walk in is amazing and it’s all over the hotel Most of my guest spent the night and enjoyed their stay My husband and I had such a marvelous experience that we went back for our first anniversary and plan to book again next year for our 5th wedding anniversary You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay a night, a weekend or make a lifetime memory! Thank you indefinitely to the Marriott Short Pump staff! I am forever grateful!

This was nastiest Marriott I have ever stayed inWhen we walked in the hotel room it was so hot the ac was on 60 in the room already set to that before we came in and it was so hot but I’m pretty sure the ac was broken in the entire building So walking into the room all the lights in there where extremely dull and dark could not get any bright light

The room smelled musty and unclean The couch in the room was tears and rips and stains all over it The towels where so old and gross that there seriously ripping in half it was like paper The wall paper was ripped and stained all over the room I felt like I was in a motel not a high end Marriott I would never ever stay here again Not up to the Marriott standards for a hotel More like a remodel that ran out of money If I did not check in at midnight I would have gone somewhere else but it was way to late and I was way to tired

Jeff Glancy

Terrible experience We had to change rooms because the bed was so bad in the first room Also we booked online with rewards points and they double charged us and also charged the card we put on file for incidentals for the nights we already paid for

We have called 10 different times and each time they acknowledged the double charge and told us we would be refunded It has now been 3 months and no refund We had to dispute the charge with our credit card company and have provided proof of the double charge and they are fighting the charge back This also happened to another couple in our group We feel like this hotel is committing fraud Do not stay here

Staff is amazingly kind The main room is a great size, plenty of space Bathroom is a great size and shower is very large

Bathroom has rusted toilet paper holder and door(see pics) The shower head has mineral and lime buildup(see pic) And there’s a strange stain on the front of the sink wood(see pic)No continental breakfast option but that’s normal for a Bonvoy, however there’s a restaurant serving breakfast from 0630-1030The beds have a nice selection of pillows and the comforter/sheets are good quality There’s a nice shelf with bottled water right at the entrance (can’t miss it) And to my surprise the remote control is inside a plastic bag (see pic) with a card stating all the surfaces they clean that most people wouldn’t think of(see pic)The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash but they’re not individually portioned, they’re in a dispenser, which I find to be unsanitary and open to having anyone put any chemical they want inside the containers(see pic) so id suggest bringing your own The shower head comes out like a tsunami and doesn’t adjust pressure l, only pattern; if you have kids this will be a problem as it is very powerful and may be painful for them to useOverall, this hotel is comfortable, the bedrooms are is clean, and reasonably priced for what is provided They could benefit from polishing the metal surfaces, fixing the rusted door in this room, ensuring the front of the bathroom cabinet is wiped down, changing the shower head or at least cleaning it, and returning to the individual dispensers

This was the midpoint to my destination Staff was friendly & rooms were very clean First time bringing my dog to a hotel

It was nice to see other dogs there and how pet friendly it was You would never know that dogs were in the buildingDefinitely would revisit this location

Langley

The sink and shower were both awful The toilet made very loud clanks whenever you sat on it or moved an inch Horrible water pressure, women at the front desk were cold bordering on rude

Our second night the room next to us was very loud I called guest services and they said they would handle itThe partiers were loud until 2am When I asked the next morning they said I would have had to call several times because the first one is only a warningThey should have told me that on the phone If they say they are handling it why on earth would I push the issue They said something was being doneWhen I complained (politely) woman at the front desk was very rude and dismissive and accused me of getting loud which was definitely not trueThe bar was pretty nice though

Great location, walkable to restaurants and stores Super cute, updated but kitschy feel to this old building The decor is super cute

Fun bar area, and the rooftop pool is perfect for lounging although you may need to fight someone for an actual lounge chair! Also I wish the walkway between the pool and rooftop car was actually usable but it was locked Rooms are cute, bathroom is absolutely tiny, as in, only one person can even fit at a time but also cute

We checked into Graduate Richmond on 8/4/22 to attend a Conference Upon checking in and arriving to the room, we knew it was not going to be the greatest experience The carpet was filthy, the shower curtain had stains and the room just looked old and dated

We cleaned the room ourselves because it appears as if housekeeping was lacking All of the furniture in the room was completely dated and it was just dusty The building appeared completely dated We figured we would be there for only 3 nights, so we attempted to make the best of it Our party had headaches after the first nights stay which leads us to 8/5/22 Our party had headaches all day long When we returned to our room the night of 8/5/22, our carpet was completely wet We all woke up again on 8/6/22 with headaches and it was just unbearable the night of 8/7/22, so we called the front desk to inform Nicole that someone in our party was really sick and we needed to check out a day early Nicole’s response was that we would still be responsible for the cost of the stay No offer to solve the issue, switch rooms or anything So we loaded up and went downstairs to check out I asked Nicole if there was an issue with mold in the hotel and she then stated that she would send an engineer up to our room to inspect It was only after I mentioned mold, Nicole mentioned possibly finding a replacement room disregarding a person in our party was really sick Nicole mentioned that someone would be in touch? Please be mindful of some of these issues mentioned before booking here The hotel hallways are not clean, the carpet is in need of replacement and it smells bad As of this time, no resolve

Hannah Peters

I booked this hotel during the $30 deal and I definitely would not go at the normal prices When we arrived, it took about 30 minutes to get checked in We had to wait for the desk attendant to find a room

The room looked nice when we came in but we soon found there was no way to adjust the thermostat on the wall and the one under the window sill didn’t work well at all There were beads like from a kids necklace and sequins all over the carpet as well as a discarded sock It seemed like it hadn’t been vacuumed The beds were nice and comfyWe also had only three towels and no hand towels or washcloths in a room with two queen beds The soaps on the shower wall, one was missing a spout and was moldy insideWe went up to the pool which was fairly small and a guest was cleaning it out with the net because it was so dirty There were also no chairs! There was one lounge chair and two tables All of which were taken (some of which occupied by employees) There was plenty of space for more chairs there just weren’t any A kid ended up offering us his chair and some people who came after ended up just laying towels on the groundThe game room was fun but most of the games were broken or missing pieces If we had payed any more than we had, I would’ve been mad

I expect better for $158+ a night I’m grateful they accept pets However I wasn’t expecting sheets with stab wounds, marked and scuffed walls and fixture and the shampoo/conditioner/body wash receptacle to be unglued from the wall — and almost completely empty

Thankfully I had my own stuff that I was able to access quickly vs shutting off the shower and dressing to go to lobby to get supplies This is what I’d expect for a $70 a night facility There was no breakfast either – which I knew going in, but it just seemed even more sad knowing I’d paid for a room that didn’t live up to my hopes That being said, I’m still eternally grateful they accept dogs

It was a very nice hotel Well kept and clean Very inviting

The only thing I found uncomfortable, unprofessional and extremely distasteful was the breakfast staff The lady who was in charge of refilling the food hovered over the food and watched everything you picked up It was so uncomfortable It was borderline harassment This never happens at the Hilton Marriott you need to train your staff better

Dee Smith

Staff was great The sheets on the bed were wore out They were fitted and would not stay on the mattress

Mattress also was worn out and dipped Bedding was awful for over $200 A night The rim at bottom of shower door that keeps wayer from running out of shower was filthy I took my finger to see if it would come off and it would It was black They need to up the par on Linens and trash some and deep clean shower doors

Great stay Rooms always clean (as expected), Hilton brands have never let me downStaff very friendly & accommodating

Location great with shops & restaurants right outside the back door There is a fountain with pond and ducks-Will definitely be staying there againI might add they are a pet friendly location which I personally think is great for those traveling (I am an animal lover) They have a certain floor dedicated to pets so if you are concerned about staying in a “pet friendly room” you can always request another floor Absolutely all the animals I saw while there (3 days) were well behavedThey even allowed me to check in early (like early early) lol because I was fighting storms & tornadoes all the way in so I arrived earlier than normal trying to stay ahead of themLess than 10 minutes after I unloaded the truck the skies opened up I am truly appreciative of them going above and beyond to help me out

iandi Boats

I am currently staying at this location Really nice facility and I usually don’t post negative comments but this is a location that business travelers should avoid So all went well during check in, I had a very nice dinner at the restaurant

Then I came to my room to clean up and get ready for bed As I completed “doing my business” in the lavatory, I went to reach for the toilet paper, There was none! I managed through the “awfulness” and called downstairs to the front desk I informed them there was no toilet paper in the bathroom The gentleman at the front desk said “there’s some for me at the front desk” I asked to clarify “you want me to come and get it” He replied “yes!” If you’re used to quality customer service avoid, at all cost, this location

love is

My stay was great there is something that I think needs to be addressed and that’s the accessibility of the hotel there is ample handicap parking spaces but I noticed there were times during my stay they were all occupied by cars that had NO indication of a pass or marked tag or window placardsAllowing those cars to remain there while guest that really need the spots was very disappointing and inconvenient There were two cars that never moved and after observing the leaves and other indicators of long term weathering collected on the two cars it was clear they had been parked there for so time, they were probably parked there and left that they weren’t even current guess if the hotel

Please monitor that situation to ensure that there is accessible parking available for those who really need it

Pros: staff is extremely polite and friendly and helpful Rooms are also very clean and comfortable Breakfast was very goodCons: A/C in the lobby and hallways wasn’t working, only one of the two elevators was working, my room keys didn’t work for me and had to go back to get them fixed (this happened with another guest while I was at the front desk as well), many of the hot items at breakfast were prepackaged which may bother some people

Pros:- Downtown Richmond is 15 minutes away- Breakfast is free and it’s legit: Scrambled eggs, waffles with toppings, sausages, oatmeal, cereal (Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies), bagels, muffins, Dannon yogurt, milk, juice, coffee The breakfast area looks appropriately sanitized- There’s warm lighting in the bedroom area, a nice detail- Long-lasting hot water in shower- 12pm checkout time- The staff are professional and niceCons:- Sanitation Sticky bathroom light switch

Toilet paper roll holder is dusty with a couple of smudges Toothpaste speckled on the left and right walls of the bathroom sink With these basic misses, I can’t tell what else has and hasn’t been cleaned in the room- Noise Thin walls: At night, I was hearing (and trying to ignore) the loud tone from a man both talking and joyfully shouting one room over Also, music playing from the same room at 4:30am Footsteps from above Loud group in the lobby Kid banging on a hallway door for 15 minutesNote: On the first floor, rooms 114 and 115 are close to the lobby I stayed in room 115 The added noise from the lobby won’t affect most other roomsSummary:The noise and spotty sanitation are too much When I got here, I briefly considered sleeping in my car for those reasons The breakfast spread is enticing, but I won’t stay here again

From the moment we walked into The Berkeley Hotel, we felt welcomed Alfreda greeted us so warmly, I felt like I was staying at a family members house The woman who helped us with checkout was also super nice, but I didn’t catch her name

The hotel definitely has a vintage feel, which my husband and I really enjoyed The room was clean and comfortable and had such a charm to it The location was fantastic We utilized a nearby parking deck and walked where we needed to go; there are a lot of cool places to visit on/near Cary Street We really enjoyed the vibe of The Berkley, and will definitely stay there again when in Richmond!

My boyfriend and I liked our stay here We arrived here on Tuesday and stayed for a night I have a service dog with me so the front desk lady got me a corner room which is quite spacious

The room is clean and neat Bathroom is huge The bedding was very comfortable too It’s nothing like a motel I was on a road-trip and definitely experienced what a motel is like This is way much better than a motel… Berkeley may be a bit old but is totally comfortable The location is good too Many restaurants close by We had no issue finding street parking here during our stay

My husband and I stay in Richmond 2 or 3 times a year Just stayed in the Berkeley Hotel for the first time We will definitely be back

The woman at the front desk was helpful and courteous We were allowed a very early check in with no problemsThe location is great – close to restaurants and shops Within walking distance of the riverThe room was clean and the shower had plenty of water pressureSome of the fixtures were slightly worn, so I did not rate the hotel as 5 out of 5, but that would not prevent me from booking this hotel again

I love this hotel! My stay was very luxurious, clean and every amenity was available for use The room itself was decorated very well and very functional for working and relaxing I love that there’s an indoor pool and jacuzzi and access to a washer/dryer to wash my clothes during my visit

I was able to use the computer to print with great ease Hot breakfast was available, but my only suggestion to offer other meat options other the pork and having a small amount of vegan cheese available upon request I was very limited to what I could eat to ensure a hearty meal because the main options were pork

Amber S.

Stayed for the weekend, Friday night to Sunday Greeted with a smile and staff was very helpful Was allowed to change rooms upon arrival then previously booked (2 beds not available when booked)

Enjoyed the breakfast but beware coffee was very hot Hotel was clean and comfortable, worth the money Blankets on bed were a little light, if your cold natured I recommend bringing a blanket My friend and I did not get to enjoy the pool or hot tub due to hours Wish it was open a little later, maybe 10p to 11p for Adults only It would be nice to relax in hot tub after spending the day exploring And pool/hot tub were closed on Sunday which was a bummer because we wanted to use hot tub before checking out since check out is 12 pm (which was great) It’s near many local restaurants and bars so we loved its convenient location Definitely would recommend

Chad Desorcie

We stayed here 4/4-4/5 2022 I would recommend this place to to anyone that would love to kick back and relax go for a swim or maybe use the hot tub The room was big with everything you could ask for Was trying to hook up Xbox for the kids and they sent maintenance right up and he took care of it

Great job Breakfast was great and place was clean Great job to All of you that make this happen keep up the great work We will be back

Started out my stay and was planning on staying 2 nights I got the queen studio room and was immediately blow away size of the room in general and by the full sized appliances in the kitchen and sofa size The kitchens are stocked with pots and pans all the dishes you would need also

And having an ice maker in a hotel room is so much better then having to have a bucket and going to search for the ice machine I love that the TV swivels between the bedroom area and living room area I am VERY picky when it comes to beds and have a really hard time sleeping in most beds These beds are also incredibly comfortable and the pillows are very good as well I ended up extended my stay several more days as the reason I needed the room was also extended The hotel staff was absolutely amazing and kind and incredibly attentive The complimentary breakfast isn’t just some prepackaged pastries There’s fresh fruit, yogurts, a couple waffle makers and 3 different choices of hot items (which varies day to day so you have different choices if you’re staying a few days) The pool area is very nice qnd my kids really enjoyed a lazy Sunday playing in the pool Hands down one of the nicer hotel rooms I’ve stayed in Even told my daughters if it was just me this studio “apartment” space would be perfect for just me Will definitely be coming back when I need a room again

It could use an update, but otherwise it’s a great dog-friendly hotel that’s convenient to 64 as well as being near a TON of shopping and restaurants The staff were friendly and very professional, plus they made sure to acknowledge our kids (and our 3-year old absolutely loved it!) Unfortunately, it is a little dingy, so I can’t give it 5-stars, but if/when it gets updated, it’s a 5-star for sure!

I wish I could give this hotel zero stars I booked a stay here with my 8 month old I called ahead asking for a pack n play and a customer service rep confirmed they had one reserved for me and I even had it in writing

When I arrived to check in at the end of a long travel day and right before bedtime, the front desk associate told me that they didn’t have any pack n plays available I explained that I called ahead She left for a few minutes and came back to tell me that her manager said they only have one and it’s broken Apparently someone was supposed to tell me and they “forgot” They offered nothing more than a half hearted apology The manager didn’t even come out to speak with me I ended up having to switch hotels so I had somewhere safe for my son to sleep As a loyal Marriott customer, I am beyond frustrated that an extended stay hotel option had no sleep options for children and no courtesy to address that problem

Very nice front desk staff and lobby felt clean The hallways do smell like smoke a bit, but rooms are smoke-free The rooms themselves felt a bit dated

The first floor is ground floor, so expect that there may be some dead bugs around windowsills We did find a spider on our ceiling, but “they kill other bugs”Very small fitness room, but at least there was one! Great mirror wall and water dispenser there with clean towels The location is good as long as you have a car It’s near shopping plazas and retail food chains but not walkableOverall a good stay, but you kind of get what you pay for

Hannah S

So so pleased with this hotel! Stayed for one night while passing through town with a toddler and a dog The hotel was clean and updated, the staff were extremely friendly, the room was quiet and had a balcony so I could easily see my car, and the pool/courtyard space was especially lovely It was in a nice part of town and I felt very safe

Will definitely stay again when in Richmond!

Frank H

They have a nice small commons area, complete with a bar that serves breakfast and a light dinner Rooms are small but adequate, I liked the pull out desk and sliding door to a small patio From what I could determine, there was no complimentary coffee in the lobby but during meal times they do sell Starbucks

I am not a fan of the surrounding area but it was easy to get on and off the road making it a quick drive to a restaurant or to the Interstate Service was friendly and the room/area was clean

Best hotel I’ve stayed in My wife and I could not have been happier Quiet rooms, well equipped, outstanding staff – everyone we met was super friendly, including the maintenance staff! Great breakfast, and the hotel offers a free dinner experience as well as drinks

The entire atmosphere made our stay so enjoyable We shall return!

Teresa Gunter

Exceptionally pleasant check-in with a personable young man who I can only identify as a student at Liberty UniversityFull disclosure: I was more than taken aback and worried about the safety of our vehicle and a quiet night due to people hanging around at the back entrance drinking and smoking the intoxicating stuff and who repeatedly yelled at us until we acknowledged themOnce inside, the din of children at a pool party also had me worried because sometimes those parties continue late into the night in guest rooms

Not to worry Our hall was quiet Our room was quiet and restful Most important—the room and linens were sparkling clean!! We slept well and enjoyed a hearty breakfast included with our room When I requested a late check out, the staffer was more than agreeable

I started going to this hotel chain in Charlotte, NC I have always had an awesome experience there So for my birthday this year I decided to stay at the Richmond location!!! All I can say is wow!!! This location was even better

Staff was so nice and helpful Breakfast was great Hotel was clean and beautiful Well worth the money I paid Only thing I got a picture of was breakfast…but I promise you, you won’t be disappointed!!! Richmond Drury I will be back!

Rooms and lobby are nice Staff are very strange Couldn’t switch rooms from our less than ideal room because all rooms had been assigned (but many people hadn’t checked in)

I sorta understand But you have to clear out of the lobby by 9, have to go down to the desk for anything (toiletries, sheets, towels, etc) and the guy at the desk is very grumpy Someone said he is the owner so if he is, he should consider being a little less stingy and a little more friendly For example, we had a single half roll of toilet paper in our room so have to go down to the lobby again for another EVERYTHING seems to be tracked If you want new towels, you have to take your old ones to the lobby It’s a shame because the rooms and physical hotel is nice and well situated

James Williamson III

Nice employees and service but there was a sewage smell throughout the facility for most of my stay It was unbearable at times The room was dated and had some minor damage

For some reason there was a toilet flapper sitting on the room floor when we checked in I checked and the toilet tank had a flapper but you had to hold the handle to flush I just discarded the old flapper that was on the floor Front desk staff was really nice but I would probably choose a new hotel next time I’m in this area

Brenden Fitzgerald

Stayed 2 wknd nights They are well understaffed This one was updated, not buily new

Room was pretty clean Hallways were very hot, and the common areas were not clean Breakfast was free, and it tasted like it A gentleman was actually arrested by police at the breakfast area after throwing a cup of hot coffee on a teenage boy Not the hotel’s fault, but they had no staff to handle the situation, including an MIA front desk clerk It was full, but it was quiet otherwiseThe fitness area was a joke Outdoor pool looked adequateFor $200+ per night, I expect a lot more service and better facilities Will look elsewhere next time

I am SO impressed with our stay here I picked Aloft because I was staying with my dog and I would definitely choose to stay here again First of all the staff was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful

The room was clean and a great size with spaces to get work done! It was so easy to park the car in the garage (and free) Last but not least the location was awesome Right outside the hotel is green space and a dog waste station There are a ton of restaurants to walk to or to just get exercise since it is in a mixed use community We LOVED our stay here!!

When my family and I arrived at our hotel, we were quickly checked in and given a room When we went up to the room, it was still dirty from the previous guest We immediately returned to the front desk and reported what happened

There was no apology for the inconvenience but, we did quickly receive a key for another room Unfortunately the breakfast supplied by the hotel was quite expensive! A single banana was $125 and small cup of oatmeal was $350 My family requested more towels the second night of our visit and the staff reported they did not have any clean towels to give us In the morning, around 6:30am, we went back to the front desk in hopes to receive fresh towels but, staff explained they would not have any clean towels until 9:00am I would not recommend staying in this area with young children as the hotel and close by restaurants play loud music at night that can be heard from even the top floor Nice workout facility!

willam gowen

I’ve stayed before and I like the hotel, however when the reservation is paid for in advance and I arrive to check in only to get charged almost the identical amount of reservation(5 dollars less) for “incidentals” which are usually a $50 charge, even the front desk employee said so, when I ask him about it and show the amount being charged he’s just dumbfoundedNormally this wouldn’t have been such an issue but this money is well was for my daughters birthday party tomorrowShould this incompetence affect my daughters birthday this will be my last stay and will never be recommending this hotel
