Everything was great until the girls basketball teams came then we got talked to about being too loud We were laughing at a TV show

Guess that annoyed someone No freezer, have to ask for microwave Pool was dirty with stuff from trees Lounging chairs filled with the same tree stuff and no towels at pool Yet towels were laying everywhere Front desk people were amazing

Very unhappy with the service I reserved a room for my son’s wedding night Tried to pay in advance and was told that they could not let me pay since it was for my son

Sent him the money He tried to set-up an early check-in multiple times (in advance) and was told he would need to call the morning of – when he called they declined an early check in He checked in at the scheduled time and used his card (since I sent him the money) They charged my card When I called, I was told there was nothing they could do It was a very frustrating experience all around and we will not be using them again

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff I felt the room to be a big snug, with just the two of us tripping over each other and our belongings CAUTION – Do not expect the hotel restaurant to have good food, because it does NOT

It is mostly empty so corners are cut The food is pre-prepared and then heated up I had some sort of breakfast burrito that was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten It was a concealed clump of eggs, potatoes, and meat Gross The waitress was nice, took it back, and removed it from the bill

Stayed here on Saturday June 4th We came down to Eugene from WA for my best freinds funeral unfortunately It is my birthday weekend so my wife wanted to salvage what she could of it and booked us a room here

When we arrived we were greeted by Morgan with so much warmth and kindness My wife had mentioned it was my birthday and they put out some decorations and a card and upgraded our roomA lot hotel claim to be dog friendly but act put out Not here! We had dog beds and toys sent up and Morgan even came out from behind front desk and greeted our ancient dog personallyEvery other staff member was also extremely kind and helpful I would also like to note that the rose festival was going on and they were extremely busy and still had the best customer service we have received at a hotel in PortlandThank you!

Stayed at the hotel Deluxe for a night with some girlfriends We were able to get early check-in Our room was fantastic

Easy Uber rides to Keller Auditorium where we saw Hamilton After the show, we got back to the hotel and had a drink at the Driftwood, I chose to have the bartender make me a drink of his choiceI’m not a drinker, so when I got my cocktail, it was a surprise how much I enjoyed said cocktail After drinks, we ended up walking a few blocks to the Melting Pot, had a fantastic dinner and was easily able to Uber back to the hotel We woke up the next morning and had breakfast downstairs at Gracie’sgreat staff, delicious food, convenient location, we just took the elevator down We were able to go back to our and relax before our very easy check-outAll in all, such a fabulous stay at a beautiful hotel Great atmosphere The front desk was helpful and inviting Looking forward to booking another girls night when we go to another show at Kellers

Safal Neupane

I was travelingSo, I called in to reserve a room I was told the price and the time I am supposed to check out

I traveled for 30 minutes in the middle of night to get there to find out it was all lie The price went up, the check out went down Is it a simple misunderstanding? Or a way to take advantage? Such a big hotel and The hotel might be good hotel to stay but in terms of hospitality, might not be the best choice

We stayed this last week and had an amazing experience The kindness and overall service received from the employees was phenomenal We felt very welcomed and accommodated

It is a beautiful hotel that is clean and well maintained It is located in a nice area with numerous parking garages surrounding the area The only complaints would be that the pool was unexpectedly closed during our stay, and the in room fridge was not working properly I’d definitely stay again!

Anna Berntsen

Beautiful rooms that feature floor to ceiling windows, a mini fridge, and glass shower doors It was very nice that they welcomed me back once they had seen that a was a returning customer It was also great to see that they checked in by text to see hiw my stay was going

The downside was that it was a little dusty and the windows with the amazing view still had the fingerprints of young children However, I don’t blame them for wanting to get as close as possible to that amazing view They did come and bring some new linens upon asking for maid service Great little spot with a fantastic view

Kellen McInerny

Note that I use hotel points to check out this placeThe hotel is really well styled The pool is fancy and kid friendly

The patio provides a cool sunken vibe where you’re safe from the street noise while you admire towering skyscrapersThe location is close to the waterfront But I recommend coming here as a romantic valentine’s day or celebrate an anniversaryAt the time the steam room was out of order But if the sauna, steam room, and pool are all open I would make an effort annually to come here as a local to have a spa retreat from my regular Portland work week

When we got to our room, there was a strong smell of cleaning chemicals We’re sensitive to stuff like that so asked if they could move us and they found us another room with no hassle, no questions The new room was a little smaller but didn’t face Burnside, so quiet and a nicer view

I felt like they really took care of us and were very gracious about doing so It was refreshing to get such nice service and really made our stay fantastic The staff were all friendly and eager to help Really enjoyed our stay

Kathijune Bruyere

Absolutely fun experience for a creative being like myself! We got the Werewolf room and the quote around the room though dizzying to follow is the greatest thing I have seen The art in the room and halls (and I am sure the other rooms as well) gives me a through the looking glass feel The bed is comfortable and clean and the staff/personell are helpful and friendly

Dave Cramton

This place is all about attitude and convenience Tiny rooms and shared bathrooms aren’t for everyone But the rooms are clean, the bathrooms (single occupancy, not dorm style!) are kept clean as well

Provided robes are comfortable and voluminous Typical of McMenamins, everything is funky and stylish Great place to stay if you’re seeing a show just up the block at the Crystal Ballroom Zeus Cafe in the lobby makes a great brunch

We had such a good time on our first stay, that we decided to book the same tiny Bamboo house, for a second timeSadly, it was in a bit of disrepair- missing light fixture, absent kitchen ware, etc As directed, I had requested sheets for the pull-out couch; no sheets were waiting for us on arrival

Maybe we will try a different house, next time

Bridget Van Well

Almost a week after checkout my boyfriend and I keep saying how much we miss tiny digs! We stayed for a short weekend and had the best time in our tiny home There were some issues with my reservation but Leanne was so helpful in getting everything sorted Just be weary in winter times there is a shortage of hot water and only a space heater

This didn’t affect us much as we still greatly enjoyed our stay Can’t wait to come back during our next time in Portland

Tiff Freccero

My sister and I stopped here for a night on our roadtrip up north, and absolutely loved it! Clean, comfortable and very functional for a small space I loved the bathroom! We chose the tiny home that was dog friendly, and it was a great match A ton of restaurants in walking distance

We loved the german one right around the corner! I would highly recommend a stay here again

Very friendly and attentive staff There is a bar and the option to buy snacks in the lobby, in addition to a full menu available for room service or diningThe rooms were nice and spacious but lacked closet space (there is no dresser just a couple of pull out shelves)

The hotel is near plenty of restaurants (within a 5 minute drive)

Sean Langdon

for nearly $300 tonight, and making breakfast something you pay for as part of a package, ridiculous! When we booked the hotel-one of the reasons we booked it was for a free breakfast, and to come to find out there was no breakfast included in our night stay, I was very disappointed and shocked by the amount of money we paid to not have a complementary Metairie breakfast included it’s just mind boggling to me The staff member, who is quite rude, stopped us at the entrance of the complementary breakfast station, and said we had to pay for it as part of a package I would think paying $285 for one night should very much include a complementary breakfast for a five-year-old and an 11 year old with their dad

I will not stay there again!

Consuelo Enriquez

I will always be grateful for the staff I met here that have be came lifelong friends I stayed here 169 days for work I enjoyed everyday I was there

Staff was amazing! Dining and Bar service was exceptional! Housekeeping needs some improvement but issues were taken care of as soon as possible Don’t forget to get you a Lemon Drop when you visit and tell them Sway recommended it! Big shout out to Kealoha, Maurice, Monte, Iris, Lisa, Louise, Miguel, Elario, Steven, Jackson, Karlie, Kiara, Karen, Hailey and the front desk manager forgive me for not remembering her name Everyone was like family and I will always be back when I am in Portland!

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any hotel They compare hundreds of booking websites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is the best rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t be disappointedWe had an early flight into Portland and called the hotel when I landed (like they told me to when I called earlier in the week) and they put us in a room that was ready when we arrived at 10am! Super helpful staff Clean and definitely worth the cost

Wayne Beaumier

I’ve been to the Monarch a few times now for a yearly convention and I always enjoy myself The rooms and halls are still somewhat dated and older but that never bothers me The pool area has been built up and is great to relax at

Both the indoor and outdoor restaurant is delicious, while the underground themed area is fun and different The staff is always courteous, kind, and easy to get ahold of They do an excellent job of taking care of the convention goers before, during, and after the event Cannot wait to come back next year

Anne Pettus

I’ve stayed here in the past and had a great experience But that was 5 years ago This time was awful

We needed a place to stay while we were selling our house and had our open house The first night, the keys didn’t work to the first room they gave us, so they gave us another room This room was on the first floor and was very dirty The sink had grime all around it, the shower head was falling out, there was black hair in the tub and I’m pretty sure it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time House keeping only comes if you call and request and they do bare minimum, they didn’t even change our sheets even though I had requested that Oh and the whole first floor reeked of pot the whole time We booked three nights and only stayed two Avoid this hotel if staying in the area Go to the Marriott down the road It’s worth the extra money!!

One of the better Courtyards I’ve stayed at The main lobby was very spacious and had many lounge sofas and the interior was decorated beautifully I was surprised this location didn’t have a pool which I was looking forward to use

The 24hr gym has decent amount of equipments and was well kept I was surprised there was even a bike trail behind the hotel which I made use of The trail cut thru the forest behind the hotel so it was a nice quiet place away from city noise

I am a traveling nurse I started with 4 other nurses I showed up, on a Sunday and was unable to lock in a price for nurses

Was told to speak to the manager J Paul, the next day He offered me $149 a night, or whatever price was on the website, for that day My stay for Sunday was $116, the next next it was $150 Aqua, the check in lady, said it would be lower than $113 for the rest of my stay Another, younger, better looking nurse got a rate of $113, for the same contract, that I am working We are 5 women, that wanted to stay together, but he was not about to help us, as we traveled to his town, to help out his communityThe was no breakfast, for $149, no muffin, no juice My shower didn’t drain My TV turned off, every few hours, to reboot I had a great view, in the back, of the homeless, living in the woods If you want a different view, get a room in the front Stains on the chair and bedspread Housekeeping entered my room, without knockingThey charge high prices, for motel 6 qualityThe other nurse, left the same day as myself We are now at a Hilton property, for much less, with nicer rooms and free breakfastI am letting all my fellow travel nurses know, avoid the Marriott They don’t like nurses

Katie Anderson

The service was kind, the place was clean, and it slept us all My only reason for 3 stars is that I had booked a king with a separate seating area, shown with a door dividing This is perfect for our family

They seemingly just put us in any room, asking if we had a floor preference, and we ended up in a standard king No privacy for the kiddo, and no reduction in charges

Marriott set their own bar…and this one has not met that bar; it’s Not worth the co$t Very disappointed Does not meet the Marriott standard

The staff was friendly and kindThe place is mostly cleaned well, other than a couple interesting mold growthsBreakfast: If you like breakfast burritos; Green Chili burritos are served Very tastyThe rooms we had were out of date (i lived in an apartment in 1990 that had the same kitchen and bathroom cabinets) The bathroom counter is a great height for a four year old, not so comfortable for even an average height adultThe bedside phone did not work (totally broken) The bathroom lighting is dim and not good for doing makeup The bathroom fan is loud as a muffler-less truck The bathroom floor tiles and grout are cracked And there is mold on the shower caulkingThe main floor bedroom space was not well planned (furniture not well placed) The kitchen had one days worth of coffee (one 12 cup pot) and only 4 packets of sugar The blankets are thin There are only four mugs and four water glasses for a place which can sleep up to sixThe business center is without wifi; no wireless printer, no internet access When one needs technology, but it is not made available… in this day and age, at this price point is there a good excuse? And a little heads up; the pool is not covered, therefore it’s not open 9 months of the yearThis was a disappointing stay

Brandy Carrico

Rooms are old and needs upgrades but despite that, they are clean and in decent shape Walls are thin You can hear the other guests cough in their rooms

Free breakfast and coffee every morning!Outdoor pool that’s open seasonallyAll of their washers are either not working or work horribly Don’t clean your clothes there if you can help it

Clint Houchens

To start, this was the worst experience I have ever had in a Marriott branded hotel I travel very frequently, enough to hold Marriotts highest loyalty level When I arrived the front desk staff was friendly and checkin was fine

When I went to my room and looked around the property, there are a lot of maintenance issues, it just looks dirty I entered my room and at first look it was OK, nothing great, a little tired but OK I always do an inspection of the bed and mattress What I found were bed bugs I took some pictures and left the room and went back to the front desk I let the front desk agent know what I found, she apologized and place me in another room I went to that room and found the same thing She met me at the room with a key to a 3rd room and when we went there, we could not open the door The key appeared to work, but the door was stuck At this point I asked to be checked out and asked if there was another Marriott property close I was told there was another hotel around the corner They didn’t offer to assist with getting a room there or offer any compensation for the huge inconvenience I never spoke to a Manager, and have never been contacted by management with an apology or a follow-up I would not recommend anyone stay at this property and in my opinion Marriott Corporate needs to take a deep look at this property 2 rooms with signs of Bed bugs and a run down exterior tells me the owner doesn’t care about this property

Enjoyed my stay Totally safe and very convenient when it comes to public transportation access Only downside is that the hotel floors were always dirty (but I understand that they have labor shortage )and don’t have enough house keepers

We were told that the house keeper would come after fourth night but no one came The complementary breakfast is very repetitive and ya get the same thing (egg, hash, and sausage) everyday except Sunday But the staff were very friendly Overall enjoyed our stay

I’m giving 5 stars because 4 isn’t fair The location is great Yes it’s right off the highway and while in the parking lot traffic is loud—you can barely hear it from the room

The rooms have been renovated While smaller in size they maximize space efficiency and not in a bad way The room felt quite spacious I love using the app to check in—no waiting, texted the desk about a minor repair needed, and checked out without any contact

Theresa L

Stayed for 1 night after landing around midnight Check in was fast and the room was clean They even had a Guest of the Day welcome bag in my room which was thoughtful

Never gotten one before at any of my other Hilton stays lol Breakfast was pretty standard with plenty of options Plus for the crispy bacon and waffle machineThe only 2 things to note were: 1 The bathroom was small so no real counter space 2 There was no real closet to hang clothes Since we were only staying for 1 night, these weren’t deal breakers

Angela Barr

The room we stayed in had incredibly hard beds that gave us terrible back pain We’ve stayed in many, many hotels and expected softer beds for the price Also, we had to pay $50 to let our dog sleep in her own bed on the floor of the room when it is standard most places to charge $20

I could even understand charging a refundable deposit for damage, but an adult dog like ours who doesn’t make messes and came to sleep for 8 hours shouldn’t cost $50 extra On the positive side, it was nice to have warm cookies and water for the kids and the breakfast was decent and had some good options If the beds weren’t so hard I can barely walk today and I didn’t have to pay so much for my dog, I’d probably come back

So we just checked in with a non refundable booking, I have 2 kiddos that love pools, so we stay where there is pools!… we find a sign saying closed Been closed for a while they said and the reason I’m even typing this is because I haven’t seen it posted anywhere including here So heads up if your looking to swim in the advertised salt water pool, call first!… story is there looking for chemicals for it?

salt water pools have less chemicals and easy maintenance according to google, but doesn’t matter it’s closed! I’ll follow up with the rest of the stay!

Breakfast, and indoor pool were the only good things about this stay We showed up an hour after check in started, it took awhile to get checked in they were still cleaning rooms We were given our key after 15 minutes of waiting and was told to wait in the lobby while they double checked to see if the room was ready

When the receptionist returned she asked for the key back and said there was a problem with the room From what I could over hear one of the workers asked to hold the room but it wasn’t communicated, and the room they just gave us a key for was still occupied by someone We were told to go wait longer while they checked in the many waiting guests behind us Waited 20 minutes in the car came back in still no room ready, it wasn’t a good first impression after a very long drive When we finally got another room it was wornout and smelled bad, the beds were hard and didn’t look like queen sized, my feet hung off the end and it wasn’t nearly as wide as our queen size beds at home The first day we told the front desk to skip cleaning our room because we didn’t have a do not disturb sign, they still knocked but no nig deal Then the last day we got a knock on the door while we were getting ready an hour before checkout, and before I could answer it someone ran a key card and started to open our door I said hold on! They rushed off saying sorry as the went down the hall, just not a good stay overall

Great location The front desk people were really helpful answering questions on how to get around town to places we were visiting The young valet guy was really nice, outgoing, and helpful even though we didn’t use the valet

He gave us tips on best and safest places to park overnight Did not know there was a roof top patio with music, that was a nice bonus Had a burger and a drink in the Tavern restaurant around 9pm and it was good! The bartender was nice, very professional and hustling around his bar His bar back didn’t seem very helpful but she also seemed really new (at least I hope she was) Even got a cocktail to go to take to my roomThe room looked clean but I saw one incident that was concerning We were waiting for the elevator and a person from housekeeping had a large rolling bin of bright white freshly folded towels and had a dirty door stop sitting on top of a clean towel in her bin, yuck😖 We were in a hurry to go to an event so I didn’t talk to anyone but it was all I could think about when we got back late to the room to take showers Everything felt clean up until that point

If I could I would give 10/5 starsHonestly from the moment we got here we left like we could be at home The staff were great, the breakfast was decent for a continental breakfast and everything was clean

We did call to check about a play pen and we’re told it was first come first serve which ended up being fine as the hotel we stayed at the night before didn’t have any so we had to get our ownThis hotel is kid and dog friendly and I will be telling anyone going to Portland to check them outGreat roof top patio and pool as wellWater and coffee available in the lobby and a to go breakfast brown bag in the morningI think that’s it Honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at

WE had a great experience here We opted for the executive suite and it was amazing for the price! The hotel has a nice pool designed for families, a huge workout room, food options, and even a rooftop patio We ended up sleeping in because the bed was so comfy we didn’t want to get up! The open airy feel of the room was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a hotel room

Overall every aspect of the hotel was a pro except for the following minor items:Cost of valet parking was high, especially if you tip on top of that Still worth it though compared to parking on the street in Portlandthe microwave in the room was quite small, too small to even cook the free popcorn provided in the room properlyAnd that’s it honestly, I’m not sure how this is only a 2-star hotel With an attentive respectful staff, more amenities then we even used, and a level or quality that we didn’t experience with the three other hotels we stayed at this weekend the Hampton Inn & Suites Portland-Pearl District is definitely a place to stay

My first hostel hotel experience and it was surprisingly pleasant! The rooftop was beautiful and cold The lobby was comfy and warm The drinks were all amazing

I tried different local wines, had some tea, and grabbed a cup of coffee the morning before my departure It was all short, sweet, and comfortable I’ll be visiting Portland more and hope to get a room there again Definitely 10/10

I would go back and visit Portland just to stay at this hotel! The staff here are beyond incredible Upon arrival I had a lot of anxiety as I was a first time solo traveller and everyone there made me feel so safe Everyone there genuinely cares about you and your safety

The hotel offers an escort system if you feel unsafe at a location and you can even text the staff at anytime which was super helpful I stayed at a single room which meant I had to share a bathroom and I had some reservations about it before visiting but it exceeded all my expectations! The room and bathroom was honestly cleaner than at any hotel I have stayed at The cafe/restaurant in the lobby had amazing food (I had a chocolate chip cookie from there every single day because honestly it was the best) There’s also amazing views from the beautiful rooftop patio I VERY HIGHLY recommend staying here!

Gosh what a unique hostel/hotel I loved staying here They have a big, coed hostel room with comfortable, ship-berthing-inspired bunks

They have privacy curtains which I loved The hotel also has private rooms but I didn’t stay in oneI loved the common cafe area The hours are long and there are always people taking advantage of the spaceThe only thing I can say negatively about this was the location being swamped by homeless people I have compassion for them but there’s a lot of unaddressed mental health issues and it made me feel unsafe leaving at night The doors to the cafe/hotel required being buzzed in or using your room key so that was coolOverall, I would stay here again This is the nicest hostel I’ve been in

After checking out, there was a charge in my bank account of a couple hundred dollars I called the hotel and asked why I was being charged and they said it was because there was an ironing board, iron, and pillow missing from the room They accused me of stealing the items and had footage of me and my husband checking into the hotel but conveniently “couldn’t find the footage of us checking out”

There’s no way I could fit an ironing board in my over night bag along with an iron and pillow I called the hotel manager and explained the situation and they only agreed to give me $50 back If you don’t want to get accused of stealing, I would find another hotel to stay at

Amazing stay Completely pet friendly, NO hidden pet fees, no weight limits, no breed restrictionsWe felt right at home

No funky smells Pet friendly restaurant patio Pet friendly walking pathsComfortable bed and pillows Good water pressure No road noise No sketchy drifters, which is rare for some areas of Portland these daysOther hotels claimed to be pet friendly, but when I called about pet fees because the booking was nonrefundable, it was $30 per dog at another hotel! Which would’ve made the room over 2x as expensive as I had 3 dogs with me

Lovely hotel by the river Is perfect to explore Portland The room was great

The view is of the marina, but also the bridges spanning the river – so a little noise from there Some good restaurants nearbyThe reason I removed a star for service is because not one member of staff in reception said good morning (or anything) as we walked through – even though we said it to them So our only interaction was check in and check out – efficient but not uber friendlyThe housecleaning crew, however, were lovely

I stayed in 217, which was at the end of a hall It was large, with a peek a boo view of the river & one of the bridgesVery comfortable Queen bed, very clean

The bathroom was enormous with a standard style shower/tub combination There was a hide a bed, and actually enough room to open it and move comfortably, if neededThe restaurant is solid and has a good bar if you prefer to stay on premisesTwo things that knocked it down for me:-Hidden fees-Dour front desk person – I kept dealing with the same person, and they just made me feel unwelcome I asked a friend who was with me when I checked in if I was imagining it and she said, no – there was a weird vibe The desk person said all the right things but there was something perfunctory about them – it was over the course of 3 days, and there was never a lineso I don’t know Left a weird impressionAlso – if you are not from the area – I went a mark down on location only because it can be difficult to navigate in and out of the River area generally It’s beautiful though!!!
