Very clean, front desk people were good (Thanks, Monique!), Cafe serving Starbucks coffee was nice Loved getting to look out at the patio and see the pool even if I didn’t have time to swim And the toilet paper was folded into a little triangle!! Can’t trust a hotel with no little TP triangle! Parking lot was convenient with extra nearby entries for people with hotel key cards, so we didn’t have to haul our luggage through the whole front room

Also there were three stray cats in the parking lot and two were very friendly but stayed out of the way of people who didn’t want to stop to pet the kitties (third was not social, but that’s his right)

This is our last stop on a 1 month long road trip Our room was so clean and the staff were so friendly With our Titanium status, they gave us a room with a patio

I went to have a coffee in the garden courtyard and all of the staff passing by said “good morning How are you?” Having just stayed at a dozen roadside motels/hotels during a road trip, this is a notch above the rest for those looking for a decent place to stop and take a break on their road trip There is no free breakfast, but we usually bring our own anyway

JOSHUA CARRILLO

This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had I was first assigned a room (different than I had reserved) next to two party rooms with loud music playing at midnight I was moved down the same hall to another room next to a couple fighting until 4 a

m, who then kept making noise in their bed into the rest of the morning I let the front desk associate Theron know about this and, while he apologized, did nothing to make the experience better I asked that my comments be passed to the manager I never received any follow up communication whatsoever until I completed an automated email survey about my stay I often stay at Marriott and generally have good experiences, but I will never stay at this hotel again Stay away

I was very skeptical to stay here because I’m a Marriott girl but I needed a hotel for the night that wasn’t too far from the Buttonwillow raceway Check in was very easy Our room was very clean and exceeded my expectations

The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in town for a race

Debbie Christofferson

Clean well furnished lobby, large clean modern rooms, well appointed, with mini fridge, really liked it Coffee in lobby (and room) Pool

Free easy large clean parking area We checked in for the night, during a roadtrip to the coast on Fri Mar 18 late afternoon Young lady at the desk service for checkin was ho-hum, not particularly friendly or courteous or helpful Didn’t mention breakfast either But she got the job done She is why I gave a 4 rating, not a 5 Inconveniencing her day

Jay ORourke

I have stayed there many times in the last 10years Yesterday was the first time I had a problem Wile checking in I told them last time the Breakfast was horrible

The manager said that because I was not happy I could not stay there She said I must leave I have never heard of such crazy customer service I will not be back I have just started to complain You can’t make people sick

Decent hotel with an easy access location with plenty of shops around Rooms are small, the AC is loud in the room and for some reason puts out a small amount of heat when turned off which doesn’t help on these hundred degree days As usual Marriott breakfasts is lack the creativity and variety I would hope in a morning meal

Another annoying thing is there’s a makeup fan in the bathroom that is constantly on that is kind of loud

Zynthia M (Zynthi_aaa)

We stayed there for one night with my parents and they requested an ADA room because of my friend not being able to walk well The lady at the front said “well just because you asked for one doesnt mean we have to give it to you” We also asked for a late check out and they said we dont qualify for a late check out and refused to give us one

When we got the the room, we noticed that they are not very clean There was a breakfast waffle that was unwrapped behind one of the chairs as well as a face towel At that point we were only staying a day but thats disgusting Whats room service for if you aren’t going to actually clean the room between guest Also the building obviously says no smoke out front of the building but the lobby smelled like cigarette smoke when we were checking out This stay was not enjoyable at all Find somewhere else Do better Bonvoy Marriott

Jasmen Taylor

The older lady at the front during the night shift was terribly rude and had no sense of customer service She was unwilling to listen to what I was saying and over charged my card The room was disgusting and looked like it Had not been cleaned nor the sheets changed

I asked for another towel and never received it and they did not explain all of the extra charges on my cards Never staying here again

We stayed at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Bakersfield and had a wonderful stay there The staff there were all so helpful, and kind Room was very clean, and the complimentary breakfast was fantastic

I truly didn’t expect the amount of food they served and the helpful staff in the dining room A special thank you to the desk attendant Israel who went above and beyond to make out stay so comfortable

Natasha Parks

Beautiful hotel! Excellent customer service from their staff Complimentary water at the front desk You get check in goodie bags

Hot breakfast in the morning from 6 to 9 am There is an indoor pool Out door jacuzzi Very clean This is my second time staying at this location, we’d definitely come back, and believe you’d enjoy this location as well The couch turns into a bed

Chris Hernandez

So aesthetically, the place is nice and the room is clean! I can safely say that the place is clean where it mattersGoing outside the room and into the hallways reaks of the sewage line running through the hotel The elevator has a funky smell and the parking situation feels sketchy at best

A lot of room for improvement, but the room makes up for the cons

The hotel was clean, it had a strong cleaner smell when you walked through the front door The staff was very kind They had breakfast from 6:30 a

m to 9:30 am, it included different things each morning but, a few items were bacon, sausage, eggs, cereal, and fruits The door we booked was a double queen room and the beds were nice The beds did not sink in and they had four different pillows on each bed to pick from If we needed more towels, they were fast within 10 minutes to bring more In the picture, we had lifted the sheets to check to see if everything was clean The sheets were not like that when we arrived, they were nice and neat I highly recommend this hotel

milskey mills

The room was good, exactly what you expect from this vendor Quite no trains, planes or vagrants Didn’t try the breakfast as the crowd was too large in the morning

They have a pull through parking lot which is rare for California so you can get in there and out of there with a trailer Would have rated it a little higher except for they need to clean the carpet and the hallways was stairways and the elevator One of the better experiences in Bakersfield that’s for sure

The hotel is pretty good Breakfast was great The staff was helpful and very pleasant

But It’s the sort of place where they have security for the parking lot Which is nice Just Maybe you’d prefer to stay in a place where they don’t feel that’s necessaryClose proximity to the Chevron was nice because it was easy to stock up in the morning and continue our drive And there’s a little dog park/pet area behind it If it weren’t for the weird people around, this would be a great spot

Marlene Moffitt

Good hot breakfast, and good wifi Hotel and room were clean The room was updated but the mattress and comforter could use updating

Despite other comments, I thought the location was good I didn’t feel unsafe and there were plenty of food options nearby (but given the freeway traffic, you probably shouldn’t walk there) Plenty of business travelers and a few families stopping over on road trips

Viengkeo Hubbell

Location was a little sketchy at night but during the day it was great! Check in, check out was a breeze and we got in late but our room was reserved until midnight Rooms were a little dated but clean Beds and pillows comfy and we all slept like babes

Breakfast was standard with scrambled eggs, sausage and yukon potatoes Breakfast lady was super sweet

This not a good representation of the Hilton brand By far and large the worst Hilton I’ve ever come across 1st floor room had grimy overly stained carpet that felt sticky and thick barefoot, had to wear shoes because of how grimy it felt

Dirty spots on the hard floor by the ironing board Boogers on the wall near the light switch in the bathroom The door frame by the same light switch had dirty grimy built up hand/finger prints The bathroom ceiling looks like it regularly caves in and the paint was probably 3 different shades and textures The room phone in our accessible room had the wrong freaking room number! The sink had been broken from the wall and just flipped there Even the little hotel shampoo and soap bottles wouldn’t stand on the sink One star only because contactless check in and electronic room keys

Gaby Sanchez

YUCK! The hotel smells like a nursing home, the room had 2 bugs in it, the shower had some kind of hair (what appeared to be pubic hair) lodged on the shelf, missing toiletries AND the sheets/pillows appeared to have some kind of red/brown stains EW, EW, EW! The ONLY two things that I can compliment are parking (terrific) and the shower itself (water pressure was amazing) Nothing else! Totally a fan of Hilton, but I typically stay at the Double Tree around the corner and will be going back to that one

Don’t believe the negative recent reviews Clean room, friendly hardworking staff, very good breakfast, comfortable bed, good shower Has a indoor pool and hot tub

WiFi strong Overall we enjoyed our night here Yes, there was some heavy walking above our room and cars outside on the main road being noisy but plan ahead and have and use a white noise app on your phone for sleep- I also have always have a sleep mask if rooms are too bright at night- ours wasn’t This is a perfect midway stop hotel to whether you are going to or returning

Megan Ryan

The room was terrible The sheets and curtains both had big tears and holes The couch cushions had two big stains that were a bit crusty

The furniture smelled awful The shampoo and soaps were all stores upside down and I’m wondering if its because they reuse/refill? The shampoo container had purple stains on it as if it wasnt new The continental breakfast was just okay At least the front desk staff was nice I expected a bit better considering the reviews were rated over 4 stars Hopefully my review can help balance this out as I wouldn’t stay there again

Jason Garber

First thing first I hate to describe flaws of a business I will say though at this particular location there were a few flaws

The room had some cleanliness issues The under sink cabinet has rotten spots from a sink leak The toilet ran all night The bed bug cover on the mattress had stains on it from something being spilled on it And last but not least I had called for a rate before I got dropped of from a repair shop The receptionist apparently misunderstood the company I was from and misquoted me a $94 rate After I arrived they told me the rate would be at least $129 a night I ended up needing a second night and the daytime receptionist told me it was the last room and if I wanted to stay I had to pay $159 a night I understand that rates are rates but quotes are quotes So if you do get a quoted rate I would be sure it was in an emailed confirmation

Clean hotel, conveniently located near a lot of stores and restaurants While traveling I usually stay at Marriott hotels and this location is okay It’s pretty clean from the moment I arrived, I had used my Bonvoy Points for my stay this time around and as expected they put me on the bottom floor

It’s something most locations do when you get a room using your points The front desk is nice enough, much nicer than the folks at the Fairfield inn a bit north by the Toyota dealer It’s your typical Residence Inn very comparable to the other modern or newer locations There is no oven only a two burner stove, my rooms exhaust fan above the stove did not work, so the smell of food lingered in my room the entire visit; no way to open any windows either Even if the exhaust fan did pull the air, it would’ve just gone up through the vents in the microwave so it made no difference Hot water can be an issue, I was fighting for the hot water with other guests in the morning and evening the hotel had a water leak and was getting it fixed my last two days of my stay Once fixed, I had no hot water for my last two days of my visit; so cold showers for those days; not a deal breaker but a minor inconvenience Breakfast is complimentary here, your basic continental breakfast, no make your own waffles here Everything is pretty much packaged, you have the option to get a egg white sandwich, a jalapeño cheese soufflé or a spinach and cheese quiche Cereal is limited and the juice machine offers only orange juice and apple juice no water or cranberry juice like some other locations Very basic breakfast fare nothing spectacular I’ve seen much better at other residence inn’s but judging on the price point and location; the old adage of “you get what you pay for” holds true here Overall my stay was okay, a lot of heavy footed folks above me, the hot water being gone for a couple of days and the fact that the exhaust fan in my kitchen not working too played factors for my visit Although this isn’t a great Residence Hotel, it was decent enough and most importantly it was pretty clean Overall I would recommend this place, it’s better than t some of the Marriott Locations in town (Stay away from the four points hotel; I did leave a review if you want to see how my stay was there) but just don’t cook and ask for the highest floor

Kaycee Link

Front desk staff was very friendly and the room was clean Only complaint is that the thermostat in our room was set to 55° and it seemed like it took forever to warm up I had to jump in a steamy shower to warm up and crawl under the covers with the extra comforter for the pull out bed

Don’t know if housekeeping sets the thermostat that low or if it was just overlooked in the cleaning process The hot breakfast was really just some Jimmy Dean sandwiches warmed up with yogurt, pastries, and fruit Nothing special but good on the go

Randall Rivera

Had family staying in town for my wedding on 10/23 As a gift to them I booked and paid for all of their rooms as I get a military/government discount One hour prior to check in and minutes prior to me having to show up for pictures I am informed that my rate would not be honored

If I would have been told this months ago when I booked (did the same thing for a family reunion in July) in person I would have figured something else out Hell of I would have been a week in advance I would have been able to make other arrangements Needless to say I have all of my confirmations and actually went in the day before to give credit card information to the hotel so I wouldn’t have to go back It took much arguing on my part to get them to “reduce” the rate to $70 more than I agreed to On top of that they were charging a new $10 fee for parking in a parking lot that only guests will ever useThis is all very unfortunate because I travel to Bakersfield often for work and when I do I usually book 3-5 other people for this hotel because it is in a great location I am done with this location in Bakersfield and will definitely NEVER be staying there again due to their bait and switch tacticsWe also had a guest staying there on a corporate rate When they checked out they were told it wasn’t honored The management team at this establishment is GARBAGE

Well I can’t give this hotel no stars So it’s one for the front desk employees for greeting me and very respectful My husband and I stood in room 237 and it was so gross

First there was old toenail clippings in the bathroom floor Toilet needs some plumbing it leaked all night and has a hard time flushing There was dust bunnies everywhere in the room They didn’t stock the shampoo and conditioner good thing I had my own Overall disappointing in the room

Eduardo Moreno

First impression was that the place looked nice hotel lobby was nice The attendant at the front desk was nice But, when we got to the room first reaction was the smell of cigarette smoke that just was unbearable

I have two kids 6 and 5 and even they commented how bad it was the room looked run down things were broken and I’m will definitely think about booking again and definitely going to rethink my membership Very disappointed

Rooms were excellent and felt spacious The king and pull out sofa bed were wonderful The roll in shower was also a nice touch

I didn’t request a handicap accessible room but as a bigger guy, I definitely appreciated it I am thrilled that with this hotel in Bakersfield the thermostat went down to 70° It may have gone lower but I did not check I had a family with young children near me the first night and heard them being very loud, idk whether the walls were thin or they were just very loud; I’m thinking the latter Didn’t try the complimentary breakfast but there are several other dining options ranging from 300 feet away to 3 miles Odds of finding front row parking are slim if you arrive between 5 and 10pm (at least for the weekend) I will stay there again and happily recommend it to friends and family

Tye Bratton

Stayed here 2/2022 with my family We reserved a high floor room but ended up on the first floor in a handicapped accessible room The staff here was amazing and helped us out a few times

Like the time a homeless guy was trying to break into our room Because of its proximity to the Kern river trail there seemed to be homeless people almost always around outside, and through the city Be careful in the parking lots especially at night Our accessible bathroom had a roll in shower, a hand nozzle as well as a wall shower head It also has handles everywhere to help transfers and a shower bench that folded up The bathroom vent did t so much so the mirrors were dogged after each shower The toilet paper dispenser was loose and the main mirror gets hit by the faucet valve The room featured two queen beds and a sofa bed allowing for 6 really friendly adults The beds were comfortable, and quiet We rarely heard any noises for guests or traffic The room also had a power shade on the window and free wifi The hotel itself is nicely appointed, there are a bunch of seating areas in the lounge and just outside, all external doors required a key card to enter except the main entrance The lobby features a small bar with two TVs and plenty of seating They have a pool that looked somewhat heated but I couldn’t convince my kids to test it in February for me, they also have a small gym and business center with computers and a printer They have a nice Continental breakfast with cereal, scrambled (powdered) eggs, sausage or bacon and french toast sticks or biscuit and gravy They also have oatmeal and fruit (bananas and oranges) there were also juices and milk

Teresa D’Avino

The check in staff was nice That’s the only good thing I can honestly say There pool is so tiny, They are way overpriced, they offer few amenities, it’s located in a very boring area with absolutely nothing to do! Don’t visit here unless you want to be bored to death! On top of the boredom, they charged me for “smoking” when I didn’t smoke! I will never visit anywhere and use one of these hotels!

I told if she can’t check me in that is fine I will leave but she somehow was able to get me in now with her manager checking what she was doing right next to her So I got my room keys, and was put on the top floor in the corner Going through the stairs I realize how unclean it was, it really needed to be vacuumed big time Upon getting into the room, everything there looked clean but I felt could be better Having stayed at other Fairfield Inn’s, I know what hotel is new and which is not, so and so forth This being a newer style hotel, it felt like an older one Like the rooms are clean but it’s not the same kind of clean as I usually see at the other hotels Although I will say Fairfield Inn’s are on the low range of the Marriott hotels so my expectations aren’t even high to begin with The bathroom is what got my attention the most and it would be the main highlight for my review The molding in the shower is starting to show cracks and a lot of residue is still stuck on the bottom mold of the shower I felt kinda disgusted by it but obviously stuff like that doesn’t just happen overnight, it takes time to build up Just seeing that along with the stairway being dirty still, it made me think just how clean this hotel really is I don’t know how the complimentary breakfast will be but I decided to skip that after seeing what I’ve seen Overall my stay was okay, but i wouldn’t come back here after seeing how unclean the shower was The front desk is nice but I’m just taken aback by the mention of not being able to check me in and then letting me check in I feel if I were paying for my stay with my own money, I would expect a bit more and a clean let room for sure I think this place is good for a night stay or two at most, just don’t have high expectations coming here

After a very tedious night of driving and arriving into Bakersfield super late, Incredible experience! After having such a long day, it was so nice to be greeted with a smile and have everything seamlessly fall into place when we arrived to the hotel at around midnightThe rooms are beautiful, clean The beds—super comfortable

Also super conveniently located near the airport!

Stayed here in June of 2022 Close to the airport and a few restaurants Room was clean

Front desk staff was very friendly and polite I had to wait until 3pm to check in because I booked with the app I would give 5 stars but I reserve that for only exemplary experiences, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with this place

I stayed in March 2021 The room rate was $487, Way higher than I expected but they mistakenly booked a family suite (I was alone) I had reserved a hot tub suite with the keyed entry from outside next to the room doorI had to pay the Family suite amount to get the hot tub suite, no amenities or even access to my room from the private entrance

Does anyone in this town know the importance of Service Excellence? It is crazy how the Hospitality industry ignores that necessary training

Horror @ checkinI understand that in post-pandemic times it is very difficult to find suitable staff in the hotel business Nevertheless, this mustn’t lead to conditions such as I had to experience today at the Hampton Inn & Suites Bakersfield North Airport

I had reserved a room with a “King” bed with “Points&Cash” and was already checked in electronically It was 2:45 PM when I entered the lobby, I was the only guest present The young man was intentionally very busy with his PC before he showed me the grace of his attentionI gave my name, he: “have nothing free and check-in is not before 3 PM” I replied that I wanted to go to the restroom first anywayWhen I came back he told me that it would be still 9 minutes until check-in I had not mentioned my diamond status with Hilton I asked if he really believed that in 9 minutes the situation would change so fundamentally and then my room or the upgrade I was entitled to would be available (all room types were still bookable that day, so upgrade should have been possible) But, I said I would wait the 9 minutes and walked about 20 meters to a seat (am slightly disabled) Not 20 seconds later – I had just taken a seat – he shouted something at me from a distance behind his glass window, which I did not understandThe fact that he now had to leave his place because of me seemed to put him completely on edge He now had a King Study room (equivalent to an upgrade) available I asked him how he could now determine that within 20 seconds without talking to housekeeping on his walkie-talkie Then he started yelling and wouldn’t even let me get a word in edgewise, I got the impression he was mentally abnormal I wanted to know his name and demanded to speak to the manager He didn’t give names and claimed he was the manager (ha, ha) He didn’t give a damn if I had diamond status or any other intergalactic status (obviously he’s discovered my member profile by now), check-in was at 3:00 pm and I had no claim to anything else He would give me 10 minutes to leave the house I replied that I am checked in and have already paid pro rata If I leave, it will be only if he cancels the reservation, because I can’t cancel by myself after death line It turned out that the self-proclaimed manager did not know the process of cancelling a reservation He had to get a younger colleague from the back office to assist She could cancel and was also very friendlyIt would do the Hampton and all guests good if he were to sit in the back office in the future and leave customer contact to the friendly lady She even apologized, although she was completely blameless for the situationI have never experienced such rude behavior in a hotel! At 3:10 pm I left the house and for sure I will never book a room in this hotel again

I finished using the pay Chargepoint electric car charger tonight, 7/24/22@2:26pm A Latino male Hampton employee (not wearing s name tag, but wearing pants and a white polo shirt) with spectacle metal glasses, salt and pepper hair, clean cut, approximately 50s-60s did not allow me to use the public restroom after over 3 hours of charging my car He stopped me in my tracks and rudely said it was against hotel policy

I have stayed at Hampton Inn hotels in the past, however advised him that this is my last time, and definitely not the Hampton Inn North I don’t recommend charging your electric car there, as customer service by this employee is very poor and inconsiderate

I have stayed at a few Hiltons and Marriots in Bakersfield and this one by far is the nicest The rest were not close to the cleanliness of this hotel Customer service gentleman in the front was top notch every day

He deserves a raise! Rooms are spacious and it’s near places to eat Pool is outdoors which is nice in this hot Bakersfield heat I will only stay at this hotel from here on out while staying in Bakersfield

Went for mother’s day It was a buffet that was mostly breakfast Food was warm not hot, the biscuits were hard, eggs were dry and the bacon seemed like it was cooked the day before and just microwaved

Couldn’t order anything off their regular menu They charged over $30 per person for not even mediocre food This was the first time I had been there and probably the last Wouldn’t even let us take food home Our waitress was good

John Haberkern

Right in the center of Crest RV mobile park is this outstanding restaurant, Crest Bar and grill I’ve heard they have outstanding food and now I can attest they sure doI came in with a friend, I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich, it had cheese, onions, pickles and mustard

You have a choice of sides, I had French fries The sandwich was excellent, probably the best pastrami I’ve ever hadMy friend ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, he loved itThey also have a bar Food is reasonable priced Staff did a great job

Stayed here while working the lightning in a bottle festival The rooms are excellent Spacious and the kitchen is perfect for basic needs

I love there’s a bathtubThe gym is nice It’s really small though for being a homewood suites There’s literally only one elliptical and one treadmill and a few weeds But it’s good for a work out, just only one or two people in there at a time can fitDuring the weekdays there is dinner from 5 to 7 and Wine and beer available I thought that was really cool for them to offer that Breakfast is OK They could have more vegetarian optionsThe pool and lounge was my favorite part of the hotel Clean and comfy

Stacy Ziegler

We enjoyed our short stay here Check in was fast and the rooms were very clean and spacious The lines were lively for sleeping and when we called for extra towels and pillows they arrived in a flash

We didn’t get to use the pool or jottub area buy it looked very nice They had Starbucks on site for those who love their morning breaks and ☕️

jolene holmstrand

First, the staff was extremely friendly which is always appreciated They have fixed up parts of the property, while leaving other parts neglected The pool and hot tub are very dirty

The room still had cottage cheese on the ceiling, original furniture and bathrooms It was bizarre to have the room only half upgradedThere were also people smoking everywhere I don’t know if that was the convention that happened to be there, or if that’s typical But nobody was regulating it around the pool or anywhere else Now when my daughter smells cigarettes she says, “It smells like Bakersfield”

Kathy Regalado

The door lock on the bathroom didn’t work, as in if you closed the door you got locked in They didn’t bother to replace it during our weekend stay The pool is deceptively smaller than the picture and it was filthy

One of the other guests cleaned it out for us No one offered me help to bring my stuff upstairs until we were done, but they wanted me to bring the cart down 🙄 If this was the super 8 I probably wouldn’t complain, but for what we paid and for the Marriott name, it was sadly disappointing

For the last 4 months my son and I have been staying in hotels waiting for our apartment These days its hard to find a decent hotel Even the expensive hotels look like run down motels

So thank goodness there is this one My son and I love the staff Its safe The rooms are clean and have a kitchen I have a lot of experience with hotels Dont take a gamble with other hotels This one is all around top notch

The amenities at Residence Inn brand are obviously specifically curated towards a certain type of traveler – many of these are shared with the rest of the extended stay market of hotels, and there are typically few surprisesThis particular property stands out in this market by their most excellent execution The service on the 3-11 shift provided by Jovani was stellar

He enforced Marriott’s policies with precision, professionalism and compassion while making us feel absolutely welcomeThen, we arrived in the room and were blown away For a housekeeper, there are literally hundreds of touch points, including the full kitchen, generous footprint, and a number of desks and tables All of these were cleaned to perfection Whomever cleaned and inspected room 1721 for check-in on January 31st deserved recognition for their incredible work Shower tiles were bright white, floor and carpet were pristine, and every single surface in the kitchen was clean, fresh and without any dust, grime or stainsThe GM must run a very tight ship We are very impressed
